We've tested ourselves. Let's get back to the episode Clint: Hm. ⁓ So who are we talking about? We are talking about Brian Johnson. Yeah. little bit about Brian Johnson. You know more than I do. I I know a little bit and you know, I think in the interest of full disclosure, this this podcast isn't necessarily about him, you know, like we're not it's just it it was kind of a jumping off point. ⁓ when he when he announced a few days ago on Twitter on X Elevated Life: That's how we reach more people who are ready for change. You can also find everything at CJElevatedLife.com. All right, let's keep going. Clint - Mic: You'll get the weekly action steps and new tools we've tested ourselves. Let's get back to the episode. Johnna: Yeah. So tell me a little bit about Brian Johnson. You know more than I do. I I know a little bit and you know, I think No, like we're not. It's just it it was kind of a Clint: that he's got an autoimmune autoimmune gastritis or something like that. So you don't know who this dude is. Yeah, sorry, yeah. So I just wanted to say that 'cause we're not given like a huge bio or anything. Basically he's a guy who like in his forties Johnna: Yeah. So if you don't know who this dude is, who is he, Clint? Yeah. So I just wanted to say that 'cause we're not given like a huge bio ring. No. Basically he's a guy who, like in his forties, essentially decided after he just seemed to be living a relatively nor normal, you know, had a couple of kids, a corporate job, and then all the stresses and weight gain and stuff, and decided essentially he wanted to beat that. Yeah. And has Clint: essentially decided after he was just seemed to be living a relatively nor normal, you know, had a couple of kids, a corporate job, and then all the stresses and weight gain and stuff, and decided essentially he wanted to beat death. Yeah. And has really made that his mission. Johnna: really made that his mission. And he's got a new organization I just saw. I was reading some of his tweets. ⁓ they offer one protocol that they offer is a million dollars a year. So you could just buy it, you know, from a million dollars a year. Right. Walk you through and And he created this protocol? Or it's one of his okay. His you know he created Clint: And he's got a new organization I just saw. I was reading some of his tweets. ⁓ they offer one protocol that they offer is a million dollars a year. So you could just buy it, you know, from a million dollars a year and they walk you through and you know he created this protocol? His team. Yeah. His you know he created a whole company and organization around this idea that he was basically going to Johnna: basically going to defeat death and his his mindset toward it is supplements and ⁓ getting you know he gets everything tested all the time ⁓ you know just as an example for this this latest autoimmune thing he just took he wrote a couple days ago on Twitter he took twenty three vials Clint: defeat death and his his mindset toward it is supplements and ⁓ getting you know, he gets everything tested all the time. you know, just as an example for this this latest autoimmune thing, he just took, he wrote a couple days ago on Twitter, he took twenty three vials of of his own blood to do like fifty different tests and decode a million or a billion immune cells or something. So he's a dude that's constantly trying to Johnna: fifty different tests and decode a million or a billion immune cells or something. So he's a dude that's constantly trying to use every scientific and technological breakthrough and supplement and, you know, all those things to hack death, so to speak. And spoiler alert, he was just diagnosed with the autoimmune, which I like to call Clint: use every scientific and technological breakthrough and supplement and you know all those things to hack death, so to speak. Johnna: un the unprocessed trauma disease. And this is not in every case, but in my non ⁓ you know, doctor mind. ⁓ because most doctors are like, we don't know what this is from. We don't know what this is from. And we know that the throw a hundred different things at you and Clint: And we're gonna throw a hundred different things at you and you know hopefully something'll figure it out. But yeah. We know better, but we don't know. Yeah. So I find this really interesting because Johnna: But we know better than just we know better, but we don't know. So I find this really interesting because I know that he ⁓ has openly talked about Just some stuff with his dad and having massive depression and wanting to die. And I don't know this for sure. So just for conversation's sake, we're gonna say that maybe he didn't deal with these issues and maybe just shifted his gaze to I'm gonna take every outside source that I possibly can to get this healthy, without actually going inward. Yeah. And just Clint: and maybe just shifted his gaze to I'm gonna take every outside source that I possibly can to get this healthy ⁓ without actually going inward. Yeah. And just I think a little more than anecdotal evidence to support what you just said is he's ha he has several lengthy posts over the last couple of days on s on social media. I would assume it's probably on Instagram and Facebook and stuff. I just saw it on Twitter X. But Johnna: I think a little more than anecdote. said is he's ⁓ he has several lengthy posts over the last couple of days on s on social media. I would assume it's probably on Instagram and Facebook and stuff. I just saw it on Twitter X. But like lengthy, you know, several minute long reads, which is huge on social media. Yeah. That talks about, you know, goes into great detail on all the different tests that he's doing and all the different things he's looking for, you know, all the different Clint: like lengthy, you know, several minute long reads, which is huge on social media. That talks about, you know, goes into great detail on all the different tests that he's doing and all the different things he's looking for, you know, all the different data points, so to speak. Nowhere in those does he even talk about even stress, let alone, you know, the deeper yeah. Yeah. Johnna: data points so to speak. Nowhere in those does he even talk about even stress. Let alone know, therapy. I'm gonna go to therapy and see why I have gut issues. I mean it's basically like I have gut issues. Right? So it's just it's not funny. I'm not laughing at all at this. I'm actually really curious to see how this Clint: It's basically like I have got issues. Right? So it's just it's Johnna: I wanna follow this over the years because he might have a breakdown and like cry several times and maybe start to metabolize whatever issues, you know, that he has. We'll see how that works. So I also think it's important just to know and I mean if you listen to Clint: We'll works. So I also think it's important just to know, and I mean if you listen to this, ⁓ it probably goes without saying, but I'm gonna say it anyway. You know, w we are both I I think I can speak for you when we're we say we're both of the thought that maybe he's going to the a little more extreme than he needs to with all of his stuff, right? But but not Johnna: So we're Yeah. ⁓ Very extreme. But not I don't think either of us are sitting here saying all he needs is therapy. No. No. We so much more than that. Clint: I don't think either of us are sitting here saying all he needs is therapy. No. You know, we obviously think that the the health side the the the doctor health side of it is important too, is figuring things out. Figuring out if you're low on, you know, if your hormones are imbalanced or if you're low on key vitamins and nutrients and stuff, that's also important to know and and handle, you know, and therapy isn't gonna fix it. Johnna: side of it is important. Sure. Is figuring things out. Figuring out if you're low on low on key vitamins and nutrients and stuff, that's also important to know. Sure and and handle. Right. You know, and therapy isn't gonna fix that. No. But there's a balance and that's really what we're talking about. Yeah, we're talking about how everything is so confusing in the space of health and wellness because Clint: That but there's a balance and that's really what we're talking about today. Johnna: you know, we have so much information out there and it just becomes like this dude who's spending two million dollars a year trying not to die, or just be in optimal health. I don't know, you know, what his real deep seated reasons are for wanting to spend that much money on staying on this planet. That seems you know, insane alone. But there's this you know, there's a lot of information out there. So that's what we're gonna talk about. Yeah today. Yeah, jump in, so jump in point by point. Yeah, do Clint: Yeah, so do we wanna Jump in point by point. Yeah. All Johnna: ⁓ Well, one is exactly what talking about. ⁓ Yeah. There is a ⁓ Clint: right. Well, point one is exactly what you're talking about, with there is a ton of information, but it's so important to remember that information is not the same as wisdom. No. ⁓ So being bombarded with data points and just all the the different ways that we can consume that information now, social media, podcasts. We're certainly not talking bad about social media or podcasts, 'cause ⁓ Johnna: that information is not the same as wisdom. No. So being bombarded with data points and and just all the the different ways that we can But it can be a lot. I mean, even I get overwhelmed by it. Go ahead, keep going, 'cause these are important point points. Yeah. The news, ads, AI now all of a sudden is a new thing that Yeah, and there's so many fake influencers that are just AI. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. Fascinating. Influencers. Yeah. Real or fake. Yeah. And then even, you know, 'cause those those ones are kinda Clint: I mean even I get overwhelmed by Yeah. The news, ads, AI now all of a sudden is a new thing that, you know, is cropping up. Uh-huh. Yeah, it's fascinating. Influencers, real or fake. And then even, you know, because those those ones are kind of like, you know, you can hold those ones kind of at arm's length. Yeah. But then you get into friends and family and fitness coaches and your your personal doctor or doctors or whatever. You know, there's a there's a l a wide range of information Johnna: At a distance. Yeah. Yeah. But then you get into friends and family and fitness coaches and your your personal doctor or doctors or whatever. You know, there's a there's a w a wide range of information and you know, we'll get into some of the reasons why, but especially if you go to like friends and family and that kind of thing. Clint: And you know, we'll get into some of the reasons why, but especially if you go to like friends and family and that kind of thing, you know, they're probably incentivized by wanting to help. Yeah. And their own personal stories. Mm-hmm. Right. But that doesn't equal wisdom for you. That just means they have something in their head. Right. They have thoughts. Yeah. Right. Johnna: incentivized by wanting to help. Yeah. And their own personal stories. Mm-hmm. Right. But that doesn't equal wisdom for you. No. That just means they have something in their head. Right. They have thoughts and they want to share them. Right. I mean, that's basically it. But just to make the point that there's so much information out there and we've really just overcomplicated it. And so now we're gonna we're gonna unpack that and try to make it not as complicated, right? So also we have to realize that everyone has a financial incentive. It's not, you know, necessarily bad, but there is you Clint: Mm. Johnna: know, there's a lot of people making a lot of money in the wellness space, right? So there's doctors that have practices, gyms that have membership, supplement companies that sell supplements. That is the most confusing thing in my personal opinion, along with f Clint: And my Johnna: Fitness influencers selling courses. and you know, we sell rebuilt, so I get it. ⁓ food companies selling food, drug companies selling medication, tech companies selling wearable devices, social media companies selling attention. And so there's this incentive, you know, financial incentive. And we already did a podcast about the wellness industry and how it blows the water out of Clint: media companies selling attention. And so there's this incentive, you know, financial incentive. And we already did a podcast about the wellness industry and how it Johnna: of the pharmaceutical industry in terms of how much money people spend and apparently you know this dude Brian he's spending two million bucks a year so it might even be more than that now. Yeah. I mean there's just there's a lot of Clint: Yeah. It's helping out it might even be more than that now. That was just a number I remembered. So it's just there's a lot Johnna: financial gain behind it and it's really hard to weed out who's being authentic and you know who isn't and do I really care if they're being authentic? Do I wanna listen to them because it's my body? You know, all the things. I think it's important. Clint: Mm. I think it's important to note on this one that just because somebody is selling something doesn't make it bad. You know, it doesn't mean it's nefarious. And also just because somebody is giving away something for free doesn't make it good. Right. So there are, you know, valuable things that, you know, we talk a lot about and now I can't even come up with the phrase off the top of my head, but currency currency is the Johnna: doesn't make it bad. You know, it doesn't mean it's nefarious. And also just because somebody is giving away something for free doesn't make it good. Right. So there are, you know, valuable things that you know, we talk a lot Currency is the Consistency is the ⁓ Okay, I'm thinking of a different one. I'm like, what is that saying we say? You it it's a very real fact that Clint: ⁓ consistency is the the ⁓ okay I'm thinking of a different one. Anyway I'm like what is that Yeah y you c it's it's a very real fact that oftentimes good things cost money. Johnna: things cost money. For sure. I mean the people who put this stuff together who do have the wisdom should be seeing financial compensation for taking the time to get wisdom and package it and and be able to to get it out to people. Right. So it doesn't automatically make it bad, but you know, for every one that's that's good or that's applicable to you. Yeah. There are a thousand people that are just Clint: And the people who put this stuff together who do have the wisdom should be seeing financial compensation for taking the time to gain the wisdom and package it and and be able to to get it out to people. So it doesn't automatically make it bad, but you know, for every one that's that's good or that's applicable to you. Yeah. There are a thousand people that are just trying to get twenty bucks off you or a hundred bucks off you or whatever. Johnna: Sure. And I just think we're just swimming in a sea of health and wellness soup. Mm-hmm. And we're just swimming in a of health and wellness soup. Clint: Mm. And basically people are just trying to grab any kind of Johnna: basically people are just trying to grab any kind of lifeline while they're in the sea bouncing around with anyone else, ⁓ for anything. You know, and it just becomes what this guy has like a four hour morning routine, right? Because that's gonna set the tone for the day. ⁓ it just is crazy. people are just trying to grab any kind of lifeline while they're in the sea bouncing around with anyone else, ⁓ for anything. and it just ⁓ what this guy like a four hour morning routine, right? that's gonna set the tone for the day. it just is crazy. Clint: are trying grab any kind of Right. Right. Johnna: You know, I mean and I don't wanna call him crazy, right? He's on his own journey. But we again we've just overcomplicated this so much in the information age. It makes you feel like, ⁓ if I'm not doing the same thing as him, well, I'm basically already dead. Yeah. Because that's the way that you have longevity and maybe it's working for him, but it's not a requirement. Yeah we're saying. ⁓ Clint: You know, I and I don't want to call him crazy. it makes you feel like, ⁓ if I'm not doing the same thing as him, well, I'm basically already dead. You know, because that's the way that you have longevity. And maybe it's working for him, but it's not a requirement, I guess what we're saying. ⁓ so kinda back to that last point with social media and you know having so much one of the one of the problems with it, and I w I say social media, but this is well before. I think this is probably from the dawn of communication, is we'll go with social media though, rewards extremes. Yeah, I have Johnna: is we'll go with social media though. Rewards extremes. Yeah, it does. You know, so and we've talked about this so many times, you know Clint: You know, so and we've talked about this so many times, you know, our constant refrain eat whole foods, move your body. Johnna: Whole foods move your body. Yeah, well there's nothing extreme about that. That doesn't grab headlines. That doesn't grab clicks. You know, it's it's always the you know, the carnivore changed my life, or veganism is the only way to go. Right. You know, or here's this one food that's destroying your liver. Yeah. Or, you know, something like that. Yeah. That's gonna be what gets the clicks because it's just the way I guess we work. Clint: There's nothing extreme about that. That doesn't grab headlines. That doesn't grab clicks. You know, it's it's always the you know, the carnivore changed my life, or veganism is the only way to go, you know, or here's this one food that's destroying your liver or you know, something like that. Yeah. That's gonna be what gets the clicks because it's just the way I guess we work as humans. We're looking for that extreme. Yeah, well fear self Johnna: Extreme. Yeah, well fear sells. I mean look at the news. Right? It's just con it's gobbled up. And outrage sells. But nuance doesn't, right? Like just ⁓ moderation is not gonna go viral. It isn't. Like you just got through saying Clint: Yeah. Right? It's just it's gone. is not gonna go viral. It isn't. Like you just got your saying. Eating Whole Foods Johnna: Eating whole foods and then listening to your body on how your body processes that isn't gonna go viral or isn't gonna, you know, be flung out to the masses because it doesn't pit one group against another group. It doesn't pit the vegans against the carnivores. Right? It just that's not what it does. It also gonna Clint: against the carnivores. Right? It just It also isn't gonna if we go back to the financial incentives, it's not going to generate people aren't gonna pay money to read eat whole foods and move your body. You know, because it's like I already know that. Yeah. I don't do it and I want a quick fix and I'll pay for the quick fix. But I don't need to pay somebody to tell me what I already know. Right. Like therein lies the problem. Right. But exactly Okay, go for it. Yeah, the next one Johnna: Yeah. You know, because it's like I already know that. Yeah. I don't do it. Right. I want quick fix and I'll pay for the quick fix. Yeah. But I don't need to pay somebody to tell me what I already know. Right. Like therein lies the problem. Right. Exactly. Okay, go for it. What's next, sir? And this again gets back to kind of what we Clint: And this again gets back to kinda what we've talked about on a couple of podcasts. Health has become now an identity. Yeah. It it's not just, you know, I'm a dude and this is part of or a y chick, ⁓ whatever, male, female, that doesn't matter, but Johnna: Yeah. It it's not just, you know, I'm a dude and this is part of or a chick, ⁓ whatever, male or female, that doesn't matter. But I live this life and part of it is, you know, here's what I eat. Part of it is here's what I do for exercise. Part of it is me crocheting. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like it it it went from this is just part of who I am to health is what I am. Yeah. Clint: I live this life and part of it is, you know, here's what I eat. Part of it is here's what I do for exercise. Part of it is me crocheting. You know what I mean? Like it y it it went from this is just part of who I am to health is what I am. Johnna: And I see that all the time on yeah, social media. It's just like people's entire identity. And I get it because I know that, you know, for me, I struggled with this too. And then when we branched out with elevated life, when we rebranded, it was like I don't wanna talk about how many grams of protein the average person should eat in a day, even though it's one of the top Google Clint: Exactly. Johnna: things right now for health and wellness. And it's just like Clint: And it's just like, ⁓ my goodness, I don't want to feed into Elevated Life does not want to feed into the health and wellness soup cluster buck that is out there. We're really trying to just keep it simple and easy for the average Johnna: ⁓ my goodness, I don't want to feed into elevated life does not want to feed into the health and wellness soup clusterfuck that is out there. We're really trying to just keep it simple and easy for the average Joe, not lie about, you know, how long it's gonna take to be a ten or have a six pack or any of those things. We're real humans living real lives. And that Clint: any of those things. We're real humans living real lives. And that does not mean that we're constantly counting Johnna: That does not mean that we're constantly counting our calories and our macros. And if someone else wants to spend the time to do that, I have no problem with that. I want to talk to everyday Joe who wants to eat the way we're designed to eat and move the way we were designed to move. Clint: I want to talk to everyday Joe who wants to eat the way we're designed to eat and move the way we were designed to move. Go ahead, sir. Your turn. ⁓ ⁓ it kinda goes back or that kind of leads into this, which really is just a summary ⁓ of hundred of the hundred and thirty or whatever that we've we've done. ⁓ We've really forgotten the basics. ⁓ Johnna: Go ahead, sir. Your turn. All right. ⁓ it kind of goes Yeah. And so just Clint: And so just you know, a quick ⁓ constantly looking for a new supplement. I mean, you talk all the time about how you would have clients come to you or people on forums or whatever, like, what herb fixes this? And you know, what what thing fixes like, well, move. Move your body. Stop eating sugar. So it's really just, you know, sleep, water, protein, movement, sunlight, strength training, stress management. Johnna: fixes this. Yeah. You know, what what thing fixes like Stop eating sugar. So it's really just, you know, sleep, water, protein, movement, sunlight, strength training, stress management, healthy relationships. Yeah. Whole foods consistency. Yeah. Walking. I mean it's just And it's rinse and repeat. That's the thing that is so blah right? It's like, hey Clint: management, healthy relationships. You know, whole foods consistency. Yeah, walking. I mean it's just and it's rinse and repeat. Mm-hmm. That's the thing that is so blah, right? It's like, hey, it isn't fancy, guys. It's not fancy. And listener, I want you to spread this word. You know, if you've been listening and you know, you're you've Johnna: It isn't fancy, guys. It's not fancy. And listener, I want you to spread this word. You know, if you've been listening and, you know, you're you've followed us for a while and you're doing, you know, Whole Foods and s tell people this. I mean, you don't have to tell ⁓ about elevated life, but tell ⁓ to you know, stop overcomplicating things. It really is just about this. And I I wanna just pinpoint like stress management and healthy relationships. That's where we get into like, in my opinion, the autoimmune, the shame game, the you know, all of the things that we internalize, our body builds a shell, right? So when, you know, the one of the other things that is the most Googled Clint: get into like in my opinion the autoimmune, the shame game, the you know, all of the things that we internalize, our body builds a shell, right? So when you know the one of the other things that is the most googled is how come I'm not Johnna: How come I'm not losing fat and I'm counting all my macros and working out? And I'm like, okay. But have you dealt with the armor that you've built around your body because of all of the rejection issues that you have, the the core mother wounds, the core father wounds. Have you dealt with those? Because the body builds an armor around itself. And if Clint: And if you're if you're relatively new to this podcast, I definitely recommend going back and listening to Jonna's story about that because that you know, that's your proof. Johnna: Right. Clint: That that's that's what it is. And I'm not we don't need to get into it obviously right now, but it's definitely worth a listen as a real life example of I do all the things, it's not working, ⁓ I focus on that a little bit, all of a sudden now everything else is working that wasn't before. ⁓ Johnna: But Right. Now everything else is working. Well, my cousin as well, right? I've shared that story about how my cousin gained a hundred pounds in a terrible relationship and when she left the relationship and started going into therapy and just kind of unpacking things, she didn't change her diet or anything and lost a hundred pounds. So there's a testimony there. I'm not like an anomaly. I've seen it with other people as well. Once we start letting go, it's amazing. how the body starts to release, especially for women. So anyway. I just want to touch on one other Clint: I I just wanna touch on one other thing with the basics. ⁓ 'cause you you know, you talked about more of the mental health and all that stuff. One of the things that we we get from time to time, kinda goes in waves it seems like, is the concept of resistance training being boring. Johnna: Mm-hmm. You know, you do the same thing all the time. It is boring. Okay, yeah. You can do certain lifts that, you know, accentuate a specific muscle or muscle group or you know, they're just something a little bit different, whatever. But ultimately what it boils down to is your pushing and pulling with your upper body and your lower body. Yeah. That's really what it is. So then when you when you think about that with food. Clint: You know, you do the same things all the time. Like Okay. Yeah. You can do certain lifts that, you know, accentuate a specific muscle or muscle group, or, you know, they're just something a little bit different, whatever. But ultimately what it boils down to is your pushing and pulling with your upper body and your lower body. Yeah. That's really what it is. So then when you when you think about that with foods, with whole foods, 'cause another thing we get quite often is whole foods are Johnna: Whole foods are boring. Yes, they are. Boring. They just are the foundation. Yeah. It when we say whole foods, that doesn't mean raw carrots and chicken breast. Yeah. Dry chicken breast, baked, y you know. Yeah. You can do all kinds of different things using whole foods and just herbs and spices. Yeah. And and really, you know, have fun with it and develop diff different things. Clint: Boring. Boring. They just are the foundation. It when we say Whole Foods, that doesn't mean raw carrots and chicken breast. Yeah. Dry chicken breast, baked y you know what You can do all kinds of different things using Whole Foods and just herbs and spices and and really, you know, have fun with it and develop different different things. But again, just like resistance training goes down to pushing and pulling heavy shit, Whole Foods, the diet just goes it boils down to Whole Foods. Use them in a variety of ways. Yeah. But stick with the Whole Foods. Absolutely. Johnna: But again, just like resistance training goes down to pushing and pulling heavy shit, but Whole Foods the diet just goes it boils down to Whole Foods. Use them in a variety of ways. Yeah. the whole foods. Absolutely. Yeah, it's boring, you guys. It really is. I mean yeah. Unless you're trying to train for a specific reason. 'Cause I don't wanna take away from like mobility or agility or things like that, right? 'Cause those are specific training things. But if you're trying to just build muscle 'cause you haven't done that yet, it it is boring. I mean, yes. Clint: I mean ⁓ yeah. Unless you're It it is boring. I mean, yes. After a time Johnna: After a time. At first it's really exciting 'cause you get your newbie gains and you're just like, ⁓ my gosh, and you really start to feel strong and then come year five, you're like, Okay, I'm doing chest flies again and I'm doing the bench press again and you know, and you just do it, right? It just becomes a part of your life. Anyway, go ahead, sir. ⁓ the next one comparison is stealing our peace. ⁓ my gosh. Clint: You just do it. Right? It just becomes a ⁓ the next one. Comparison is stealing our piece. It's a great line. I so I wanted to just read that one because that that obviously fits in here, you know, so we're talking about I mean, again, social fucking media is just a part of everyone's life. It is. And so pretending not isn't helping anyone. Right. Johnna: So I wanted to just read that one. Yeah. 'Cause that that obviously fits in here. It's just a part of everyone's life. It is. And so pretending that it's not isn't helping anyone. Right? Yeah. Yeah. So you see the the twenty year olds or the fitness models or you know the Clint: Yeah. Yeah. So you see the the twenty year olds or the fitness models or you know, the people that aren't you there's so many great quotes about how fake social media can be. You know, the people that's still wanting to Yeah. The people that aren't Johnna: so many great quotes about how fake social media can be. Yeah. But we still buy into it like it's not. Yeah. The people that aren't that aren't living their day to day life and make it seem like it, like, ⁓ yeah, I'm just out here doing Clint: that aren't living their day-to-day life and make it seem like it, like, ⁓ yeah, I'm just out here doing nothing and I'm, you know, completely jacked or whatever that might be, when it in reality they haven't eaten or drinking any drinking? Had anything to drink in days and you know, they're emaciated essentially. But they needed to get that video, that picture. Or they're on HRT. Right? And you know, I I talked to you about Johnna: Yeah. ⁓ In days and you know, they're emaciated essentially. But they needed to get that video, that picture. Yeah. Or they're on HRT. Right. And, you know, I I talked to you about this. I don't think I mentioned it on the podcast. Maybe I did. I follow this influencer because she's like fifty-six and she's totally jacked and she's always like, This is what I eat in a day, right? And you're like, Wow, I'm looking at it going, I eat less than that. And if I would eat more, then I would be super full. And then it comes out that she's on HRT. T. Now I'm not against hormone replacement therapy, right? Especially for menopause, and I get it. But if you're if your hormones are so optimized as optimized as a 20 year old, then I mean, yeah. I mean you're gonna look you're gonna be rockin'. Yeah. Right? So the average person though is not doing that. No. Clint: Then I mean, yeah. I mean you're gonna look that's you're gonna be rockin'. Yeah. Right? So the average person though is not No, and and then the problem with what we're talking about right here is that average person that isn't doing that sees the fifty six year old. Like, ⁓ that's what a fifty six year old is supposed to look like if you know, if you're doing this and I think I'm doing it and I don't look any more close like to that. Right. Johnna: Right. Clint: You know, so yeah, that's a that's a big problem. That just made me think of that you showed me a lot of funny videos over the last couple of days, but the one about ⁓ somebody said, you know, go to hell or whatever, 'cause they were they were pissed off and do you remember that one and it's a ⁓ lady doing burpees and how d what was the punchline? She said something like I'm already there because I've Johnna: Yeah. Yeah. She said something like, I'm already there because I've been working out like this and I'm still chubby. I mean, it just it's like so so true. You know, and I love people like that, where they're on the internet like, Yeah, I work out every day. I'm eating all Whole Foods and guess what? I still have kind of a belly and I still have a little bit of this. And it's so refreshing to me. It just Clint: been working out like this and I'm still chubby. Yeah. I mean it just it's like so so true. You know, and I love people like that. Yeah. And I still have a little Johnna: You know, because we're constantly either subconsciously or consciously we're comparing ourselves to other people. Instead of comparing ourselves to ourselves six months ago, two months ago, last week, right? And constantly trying to get better. Clint: Right? And constantly ⁓ trying to get better that should be your only comparison. You know, it's really easy and you know, I speak for myself included, to see women that are in their twenties and they're just, you know, rocking and I'm sitting here going, Well, staggy baggins like I am just like a walking skin, extra skin person because I Johnna: That should be your only comparison. You know, it's really easy and you know, I speak for myself included, to see women that are in their twenties and they're just, you know, rocking and I'm sitting here going, Well, saggy baggins, like I am just like a walking skin, extra skin person because I've, you know, gained and lost a lot of weight. And now probably just in the last six months. I've really maybe even less. I've really just been like, you know what? This is just what it is. And I I can either, you know, be in this constant state of comparison or I can just accept that I've had a lot of life to live and guess what? So much better than five years ago. So much better. So Be careful in the comparison game. I know we all struggle with it and I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like we don't, right? Just really try to hone in those thoughts or clean up your algorithm, right? Clint: Be careful in the comparison game. I know we all struggle with it and I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like we don't. Right? Just really try to hone in those thoughts or clean up your algorithm. Right? Yeah. I'll let you take this next one. Okay. We outsource our intuition. Many Johnna: Okay. We outsource our intuition. Many people no longer trust themselves. Instead they ask, What does my watch say? What does my app say? What does the internet say? Sometimes we know we're tired, we're stressed, we haven't moved, we haven't we've eaten poorly, we don't always need other people's d ⁓ no, we don't always need another device. Sometimes we need to reconnect with our own. Bodies. This is huge. Women, I'm gonna speak to you. We are constantly outsourcing ⁓ my goodness, everything, but we're just gonna keep this in the context of health. And it goes back up to the comparison. Like, what is your body telling you? Learn to trust that. No matter what other people are saying or causing you to question your intuition, listen to yourself. What does your body need? And that is a muscle that is harder to develop than your glutes. I mean, it just is. Because we have all this information coming in. We have, you know. Clint: that is harder to develop than your glutes. I mean it just is. Because we have all this information coming in, we have, you know, other people Johnna: Other people, all the things. So at the end of the day, listen to your body and what what it needs, basically. Do you have anything to say? ⁓ yeah. Clint: Say listen to your body and what Do you have anything to say? ⁓ yeah. I will talk to the fellas since you were talking to the ladies. I think it's a human thing. it it's I I'll go with 'cause I totally agree with what you're saying, and I think that does apply to men as well for Johnna: Well, I can't speak for man. Clint: for your body, for you know, nutrition, movement, that kind of stuff. ⁓ also though your mental health and your emotional health and ⁓ you know so much of that has been has been so convoluted ⁓ for for everyone, I think. But if I'm just talking about men here Johnna: Yeah. So Clint: it it's been so convoluted recently and not even even to the you know, the baseline what is masculine, you know, what what is a man? Like what does that even mean as far as your emotions and your your mental well being and your your actions and I Johnna: baseline what is masculine, you know, what what is a man? Like what does that even mean as Clint: it's a such a great example of, you know, going back through all this other stuff, outsourcing things, looking at influencers, having all of this information, but not really having wisdom on what it really is. I I think Johnna: outsourcing things, looking at influencers, having all of this information but not really having wisdom on what it really is. I think guys have it in them a lot more than they are given credit for. Yeah. To really understanding what they're supposed to be doing. Well how they're so not how they're supposed to be feeling, but like it's okay to feel certain ways. It's okay if this dude likes golf and you don't like golf. That doesn't make you less of a man. Clint: Guys have it in them a lot more than they are given credit for to really understanding what they're supposed to be doing. Well how they're so not how they're supposed to be feeling, but like it's okay to feel certain ways. It's okay if this dude likes golf and you don't like golf. That doesn't make you less of a man or you know, whatever insert a million different things or you know, sometimes I cry. I mean not me, I don't, but some guys do, and that's fine. It doesn't make ⁓ less of a man. Johnna: Or, you know, whatever insert a million different things. Or, you know, sometimes I cry. I mean, not me, I don't, but some guys do, and that's fine. It doesn't make ⁓ less of a man. ⁓ some guys cry, but not me. I'm not a crier. No, but it's That's okay, I cry for the both of us. That intuition on I guess what I'm trying to say is on all those different levels. Yeah. Is such an individual thing. Yeah. But Clint: No, but it's just that intuition on I guess what I'm trying to say is on all those different levels is such an individual thing. But let let it be a guide for you. Sure. You know, and and yeah, anyway. Johnna: let let it be a guide for you. Sure. Yeah. And and yeah, anyway. Yeah, I I absolutely agree. So Don't outsource your intuition. And health isn't just one thing. It's not just your weight or your labs or your abs or your diet, your workout. Health is, like Clint was saying before, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, relational, environmental. When one piece is neglected, the whole system ⁓ falls. Like that's what it does. Right? I mean we we just recently ⁓ you guys know this we're moving to Kawaii. We were trying to go through a entire podcast without mentioning Kawaii. But because it's environmental, right? I mean, if you are in an area that just isn't where you're supposed to be, you know, that can play a huge role in your mental and emotional health. It absolutely can. So if you neglect one area and and I'm saying this and and hear this young Clint: I was hoping you were gonna bring it up. ⁓ We have this exact same thought. If you are in Johnna: Man Brian that we were open the podcast with, ⁓ is a good example of this, right? I mean, he's been working on his massive physical health, like over the top. And he now has the autoimmune disease because, you know, the body isn't in balance, right? Maybe there's some mental and emotional and spiritual things that need to happen there. I'm not judging him, but you know, potentially. Potentially. Clint: like over the top and he now has the auto Potentially. At least I I would be very comfortable saying this. At least there are those things that need to have a focus. Sure. You know, and maybe maybe we're completely off base and he's you know, the most squared away advanced human mentally and emotionally and spiritually and ⁓ I'm assuming not. Yeah. But Johnna: Sure. You know, and maybe maybe we're completely off base and he's squared away an advanced human mentally and emotionally and spiritually and ⁓ I'm assuming not. Yeah, if he has the autoimmune, I'm gonna gonna guess not. But can you imagine if you put two million dollars into each one of these things? Right? All of these, maybe things, you know, that'd be an interesting thing. Maybe we can inspire him to do it. He obviously has the funds. Mm-hmm. Yeah. One thing that I Clint: Yeah. One thing that I thought of too, and thank you for bringing up Kawaii 'cause I was going to. We were trying not to nauseated by it. But i it just made me think of Johnna: ⁓ you were? We were trying not to, I know you guys are nauseated by it. But it it just made me think Clint: a relatively small thing and how that can have impacts is specifically around environmental cause ⁓ you know mo I shouldn't say this there are a sign a significant number of people who live in snowy or potential snowy areas that don't really enjoy the snow and are a little nervous about driving on snowy roads and, you know, all those things. But like where we live, basically from October to March Johnna: Right. ⁓ But like where we live basically Mm-hmm. And not as much in October, not as much. Clint: And not as much in October, not as much in March, but every day is I I hope it didn't snow or I hope the roads are okay. Yeah. You know, I gotta get down the hill in the morning and man, if we got ice overnight, you know, we've had times where we drove out of our driveway and couldn't turn the car 'cause it was just it was so icy. So even just constantly having that thought Johnna: Every day is I I hope it didn't snow or I hope the roads are okay. Yeah. You know, I gotta get down the hill in the morning and man if we got ice overnight, you know, we've had times where we drove out of our drive. Yeah. It was just it was so icy. So even just constantly having that thought of man I hope the roads are okay tomorrow. Yeah. Because it's something that that I'm concerned with. Yes. Clint: of man I hope the roads are okay tomorrow. Yeah. Y because it's something that that I'm concerned with. Yeah. It that has an impact. Yes, it does. Some people, you know, love the snow and don't care about slick roads and you know, they're just gonna no, because they they're like, I hope it snows 'cause I wanna go skiing. You know. Yeah, and so then for them that that isn't an environmental factor. Johnna: Yes, it does. Some people, you know, love the snow and don't care about slick roads and Yeah, and it doesn't even phase them. No, because they're like, I hope it snows 'cause you're gonna go skiing. Yeah. Yep, or and they dri they navigate in it really well, it doesn't cause any kind of stress at all. Yeah, and so then for them that that isn't an environmental factor. No. But so even it doesn't have to be like the big, huge, massive things with any of those mental, physical, emotional, spiritual Clint: But so even it doesn't have to be like the big, huge, massive things with any of those mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, those little components, you know, they they add up to a big a a big thing. You know, it's interesting Johnna: those little components, you know, they they add up to a big a a big thing. You know, it's interesting you mentioned that because we're in fire season right now. And when I smell smoke, I lost a house in a fire, it triggers somet like I have a moment of anxiety over it. Now I've dealt with the fire, I you know, but it's like Clint: Very exciting. Johnna: I smell summer and then it's like this little clinch that I do and then I'm like, No, no, it's all good, like things are good, there's not a fire by you. But it took years for me to get to like peace in that. I would get very dysregulated the first like, I don't know, five years after the house burned down. So even that, right? Like that's an environmental stress. It's just ⁓ an example, right? Now Clint: Years for me to get to like peace in that. I would get very dysregulated the first Sure. So even that, right? Like that's an environmental stress. It's just ⁓ an example. Yeah. Right? No, maybe those smells don't bug you, right? Or it doesn't trigger a fight or flight or kind of a freak out or an anxiety attack on you because, you know, you've had a different life experience. But for me Johnna: Maybe those smells don't bug you, right? Or it doesn't trigger a fight or flight or kind of a freak out or an anxiety attack in you because, you know, you've had a different life experience. But for me, ⁓ it does. Yeah, not as much anymore. So anyway. Yeah. All right. So the goal of this is to Clint: Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Not as much anymore. Yeah. That's a that's a great example. Yeah. Johnna: inspire you to not overcomplicate what the information age has completely overcomplicated. I don't believe you need another supplement. I don't believe that you need, you know, to you know, just get insane about your calories and all all the measurements, right? We've talked about this before. go ahead. Yeah, it just pops Clint: Yeah, it just popped into my head and you were going down this road exactly with the measurement thing. 'Cause w again, another thing that we talk about a lot with clients is the scale. And it it seem it feels like as I'm just kind of replaying this in my head as we're wrapping things up, you know, we kinda poo pooed a lot of stuff. But Johnna: It it seem it feels like as I'm just kinda repla Mm-hmm. But it doesn't mean that they're all negative all the time. No. You know, if if a scale is something because it provides Clint: it doesn't mean that they're all negative all the time. You know, if if a scale is something because it provides information but it doesn't give you anxiety or it doesn't then use it. If a you know, if you like to track your steps because it's just fun and it's a c little challenge that you have, like, I'm gonna get to ten thousand and then, you know, I'm gonna give myself a little cheer and do a little dance or whatever, do that. Yeah. So, you know, we're not we're not trying to say all that stuff is bad and stay away from it and Johnna: give you anxiety or it doesn't then use it. If a you know, if you like to track your steps. Yeah. Because it's just fun. It's a little challenge that you have, like I'm gonna get to ten thousand and then you know, I'm gonna give myself a little cheer and a little dance or whatever. Do that. Yeah. So you know, we're not we're not trying to say all that stuff is bad and stay away from it and just, you know, live like gay man. But make sure you really are in tune with what it's doing to you. If you Clint: Just, you know, live like a caveman. But make sure you really are in tune with what it's doing to you. If you have anxiety, you know, like the one, if you're constantly checking, you know, and ⁓ I 9,981 steps, I gotta get out of bed and go pace the hall. Maybe that's a little bit too much. Right. You know what I mean? So so using all of these things. Johnna: Constantly checking, you know, and ⁓ I 9981 steps, I gotta get out of bed and go pace the hall. Maybe that's a little bit too much. Right. You know what I mean? So so using all of these things in positive ways, but not becoming beholden. Clint: in positive ways but not becoming beholden to any of them. Yeah. Johnna: Yes. So at the end of the day, you guys move your body, lift heavy things, eat food that comes from the planet, sleep well, spend time outside, love on your people, and receive love from your people. Manage your stress, laugh often, and always keep learning. There it is, right there, and just a basic Nutshell. However, that looks like for you, because you are an individual, it's going to be different. And so do those things. Let's please stop overcomplicating everything and quit swimming in the soup of information on health and wellness. That's it. Clint: However. There you go. Thanks. Thank you so much for listening. Johnna: That's all I got to say. So thank you so much for listening. Have a lovely day. Clint: And we'll talk to you soon.
