- 0:05and you're wondering
- 0:06what the F is going on every week,
- 0:08this is your podcast.
- 0:09The AI to see
- 0:11F podcast
- 0:12your home for tactical
- 0:13tips, strategies, and ideas
- 0:15that you can implement right now in your
- 0:17AI workflows to make your brand or agency
- 0:19more money.
- 0:20Welcome to the episode of AI, DC.
- 0:24I'm here with Thomas and our friend
- 0:27rooster, who is super smart.
- 0:30Also awesome.
- 0:32Really great agency owner. Rooster.
- 0:34Welcome to the podcast.
- 0:35We're glad to have you.
- 0:36Hey thanks guys.
- 0:37I'm super excited to be here.
- 0:39Thanks for the invite. The.
- 0:40Yeah, yeah.
- 0:41Well, we're here to talk about your AI
- 0:42growth strategist. Rooster.
- 0:44What's going on with you, man?
- 0:45What's been going on in your agency?
- 0:46And you know, how how are things, etc..
- 0:49Yeah. Okay. Well, not much.
- 0:52I mean,
- 0:53in terms of, of the agency
- 0:55and everything,
- 0:55I have been coming to realize that,
- 0:59you know,
- 1:00I think the dust is settling
- 1:01a little bit in the ecosystem.
- 1:03And I feel like we're shifting
- 1:05from like a guy's dove.
- 1:07Oh, my God, our work.
- 1:10Everyone's going to lose our jobs.
- 1:12Everyone's going to lose our clients to.
- 1:15Not that much.
- 1:16It's just like we may have, like,
- 1:19I feel like
- 1:20everyone is getting
- 1:21amplified a little bit, right?
- 1:23So I hear a lot of talk about,
- 1:26you know, ops and like, Thomas and you,
- 1:28you guys are just crushing it.
- 1:30We've got wallets back in the agency.
- 1:32He's in charge of ops as well.
- 1:34And I feel like there's
- 1:35just such a natural flow of automation
- 1:39within operations
- 1:40for agency and brand owners,
- 1:42just the up side of things.
- 1:43And then you've got people like Dara
- 1:45Denny and, well, of course,
- 1:47just automating a huge chunk
- 1:49of the creative strategy as well.
- 1:51But I've also personally gained
- 1:54a lot of my time back,
- 1:56and I've been able to do a lot of things
- 1:59that were not accessible to me
- 2:01as a growth strategist
- 2:03within the agencies
- 2:03or within the agency, I'm
- 2:05basically head of growth.
- 2:06So I've been able to empower
- 2:10myself, empower
- 2:11others within our team
- 2:12and within our client
- 2:14brands to just do stuff
- 2:16that was not accessible.
- 2:17And yeah, now we can operate
- 2:20not only at a
- 2:22much higher level,
- 2:23but we can also basically ten x results.
- 2:26So that's what what what I feel like
- 2:30is not being said as much,
- 2:31but it's definitely worth
- 2:32having a look into. Yeah.
- 2:33So when you talk about this
- 2:35you sort of pitched this as the
- 2:37the AI growth strategist, right.
- 2:39It's looking at all of it together.
- 2:40So what is this?
- 2:42What is this person effectively do.
- 2:44Like and how
- 2:45how are they enabled within
- 2:47an organization.
- 2:47Let's say that you you know,
- 2:49I think a lot of people,
- 2:50like you said,
- 2:50there have been a lot of creative stuff.
- 2:51There's been different piecemeal things.
- 2:53There's like people
- 2:54that are doing operations.
- 2:55But how do you define this
- 2:56and what does that
- 2:57what are
- 2:57some of the things that that person does.
- 2:59Okay.
- 2:59So so a girl strategies to me
- 3:01is basically the main point of contact
- 3:04between an agency
- 3:05and the brand or within the brand,
- 3:06the main product hero product owner.
- 3:09Sometimes, you know,
- 3:10brands and agencies,
- 3:11we tend to work in pods,
- 3:12as you guys know.
- 3:13So it would be basically
- 3:15either a pod leader or a client,
- 3:17an account leader.
- 3:19That's how you could
- 3:20envision that, right?
- 3:21And it's the main person accountable
- 3:23for not only the end result,
- 3:25but all of the financials
- 3:27that lead up to that result.
- 3:29And the main owner of the entire funnel,
- 3:33not just the creative piece of it.
- 3:35And a lot of times, honestly,
- 3:37that is also called
- 3:39I mean, a media buyer.
- 3:40I feel like there's
- 3:41not a unified word for that job yet.
- 3:44We all end up doing it.
- 3:45So for some people it may be just,
- 3:47oh, that's a senior media buyer.
- 3:48For some people would be like,
- 3:49oh, that's an account manager.
- 3:51For some people
- 3:51that would be a growth strategy.
- 3:52So that's basically the role there.
- 3:54Got it.
- 3:55And again with AI and I agree with you
- 3:58that this
- 3:59this part hasn't
- 4:00been talked enough about.
- 4:02It's been too much on the creative side,
- 4:04at least kind of in my sphere.
- 4:06So but going back
- 4:08to the last 6 or 9 months to kind of
- 4:11how has that role changed
- 4:13and what kind of concrete tactics or
- 4:17software or things
- 4:20have you kind of discovered
- 4:21that has
- 4:22brought a lot of value to,
- 4:24to you and your productivity? Sure.
- 4:26So I think that what has really changed
- 4:29has been, number one,
- 4:30I think that growth strategies
- 4:32now, if they are set up the right way
- 4:33and they know the right,
- 4:35like AI foundational skills
- 4:37we are set up for, like we don't need
- 4:41really sophisticated tools anymore
- 4:43to achieve really sophisticated insights.
- 4:45So I'm going to give you an example
- 4:46like cohort and doing like stuff
- 4:49you like.
- 4:50In the past
- 4:51we would need data scientists
- 4:52to do specific stuff.
- 4:53We don't need that anymore. Right.
- 4:55Like cloud can just pull, you know,
- 4:57you plug it into your Shopify
- 4:59and it can give you really granular stuff
- 5:01on cohorts, on profit
- 5:03at the product level and LTV optimization
- 5:06instead of just roster transition.
- 5:08So like cloud can do all of that for you.
- 5:10You don't need to know code
- 5:11or R square or anything.
- 5:14It'll just do it.
- 5:15So that's one thing.
- 5:16The other piece is what?
- 5:18Naval. I love that guy.
- 5:20Naval in Twitter.
- 5:21He he used to say
- 5:23there's a lot of ten x developers.
- 5:25So I feel like now
- 5:27there's about to be an explosion of ten x
- 5:30growth strategists, whereas
- 5:32you can just replicate yourself
- 5:34with cloud code
- 5:35and these tools
- 5:36and you can just cover a lot more ground,
- 5:39not only like
- 5:41if you're on the agency side,
- 5:43not only
- 5:44can you grab more clients,
- 5:45which yields into more profit and revenue
- 5:47and whatever,
- 5:48but if you're on the brand side,
- 5:50you can just go deeper, dude.
- 5:52Like,
- 5:52you can manage agencies better
- 5:54and you can really start
- 5:56to question things
- 5:57and you're just going
- 5:57to be more knowledgeable.
- 5:59The things that I've found
- 6:00are the the foundation for
- 6:03this is four things.
- 6:04Number one is context.
- 6:05So you need to understand
- 6:07context and engineering elderly.
- 6:10And it's going to get nerdy.
- 6:11But it's just the foundation of that.
- 6:13That's super important.
- 6:14Context engineering 101.
- 6:16That's fundamental.
- 6:17Number two
- 6:18really understanding how skills work.
- 6:21That's the second one, Claude.
- 6:23And the skills echo system.
- 6:24That's the way
- 6:26you replicate yourself today.
- 6:28So just like building your skill stack,
- 6:30and there's already
- 6:31a world of skills
- 6:32that you just can just download install
- 6:34and that will make
- 6:35a big difference for you.
- 6:36Another one is connectors.
- 6:38So just knowing how to plug into the data
- 6:40and how to query it,
- 6:42that's the third piece.
- 6:43And the fourth one
- 6:44is really how to being
- 6:46like the lead figure
- 6:47within Pots and systems,
- 6:48how to make sure that AI just permeates
- 6:51throughout the work, the workflow.
- 6:53So if Growth Strategies accomplishes
- 6:56those four things,
- 6:57I really think that you can turn
- 6:59extra output really quickly.
- 7:02So if you go through this like we talk,
- 7:04you know,
- 7:04we talked about context,
- 7:05skills, connectors
- 7:07and becoming the point person,
- 7:09which I agree you need,
- 7:10you know, need to be that person
- 7:11in the organization
- 7:12or somebody needs to be that
- 7:13person in the organization.
- 7:15What are the the the the
- 7:17I mean, what are some of the like?
- 7:18Walk me through the exact
- 7:20things that you are doing in short
- 7:22form here.
- 7:22So with context
- 7:24you're building your growth brain.
- 7:27You're you're giving it context
- 7:29on the organization.
- 7:30I'm guessing you're giving context
- 7:31on the organization
- 7:32that you're working with.
- 7:33You're connecting it
- 7:34into their numbers,
- 7:36into their Shopify MCP.
- 7:38I assume, like that's a part of it.
- 7:41So that's one.
- 7:42Then the skills of like,
- 7:44what are the common skills
- 7:45I guess would be curious.
- 7:46So let's start with those two
- 7:48that you want to make sure
- 7:49that you have built in each of them.
- 7:50And then we'll talk about connectors.
- 7:57This episode of Aid to See
- 7:59is brought to you by runneth from Motion.
- 8:01And, you know, there's
- 8:02so many interesting things about running
- 8:04that I absolutely love.
- 8:05The best marketers I know right now
- 8:07are not sitting there going,
- 8:08how do I get an answer? My questions?
- 8:10They're thinking in systems.
- 8:12It's I have taste, I have judgment,
- 8:15I know my customer better than anyone,
- 8:17and they're putting that into run
- 8:19and having it work on it
- 8:20in a really sophisticated way.
- 8:22It's putting it in
- 8:22there
- 8:23and runneth is amplifying
- 8:24what they can do
- 8:25with that particular data.
- 8:26It's not a chatbot, right?
- 8:28It's not just Claude,
- 8:29it's not just ChatGPT.
- 8:30That's the thing I love about runneth
- 8:32is that it pushes it further,
- 8:34and it has your ad data,
- 8:35your competitor data,
- 8:37your creative strategy,
- 8:38it has your product data,
- 8:40and it helps you understand
- 8:41all of these things together
- 8:42so that you can genuinely train it
- 8:44on how you think.
- 8:45And it becomes useful
- 8:46from an operational level,
- 8:48saving you time, giving you context,
- 8:50and giving you important information
- 8:52so that you can make the most absolute
- 8:55best decisions
- 8:57as a marketer today,
- 8:58to help make your business
- 9:00run more efficiently.
- 9:01Motion can do so much.
- 9:03Runneth can do so much on top of it.
- 9:05So I encourage you to give it a shot.
- 9:07If you haven't run a
- 9:08and go and see what you can build.
- 9:10Sure thing.
- 9:11So the first thing is,
- 9:13in terms of context,
- 9:14the first thing that we did
- 9:16that made a huge difference is
- 9:18we there are frameworks for organizing
- 9:21your cloud folders.
- 9:22It's just as simple as that.
- 9:23And there's one that we really like
- 9:25and we use, which
- 9:26I recommend is called the Karpathy Wiki.
- 9:29So it's basically and there is I can just
- 9:32we'll probably be sharing it
- 9:34in the podcast resources and stuff.
- 9:36But it's it's as simple as copying
- 9:38and pasting this big GitHub
- 9:41prompt into your Claude,
- 9:42and it will all organize itself
- 9:44into that structure.
- 9:45The cool thing about that structure is a
- 9:48I won't go into the
- 9:49detail, but it basically
- 9:52voice the need that every
- 9:55AI model has
- 9:56of reading
- 9:57through everything in its memory,
- 9:59and it just helps it find things quicker
- 10:02so it becomes more efficient.
- 10:03So just structuring your stuff like that
- 10:06gives you a big leap.
- 10:07The other one
- 10:08that's been a massive
- 10:09unlock has been just
- 10:10we used to have fathom
- 10:12we migrated everything to Gemini note
- 10:15because we run on Google
- 10:16Workspace accounts.
- 10:17So it's very easy
- 10:20with the Google Workspace API.
- 10:24Just plug it into the your LM, your
- 10:28AI provider, and it just pulls out
- 10:33on all the meeting notes.
- 10:34That is super powerful,
- 10:35because if you're strategizing
- 10:39a new batch of ads,
- 10:40it's got context on the feedback
- 10:42that the client gave you last call,
- 10:43and it's not going to produce
- 10:44anything like that.
- 10:45So that one, just as an example,
- 10:47has been massive.
- 10:48And then it goes as deep as if you do
- 10:52the Karpathy piece that I,
- 10:55that I just mentioned
- 10:57by itself, when it starts
- 10:58ingesting all of these meetings, it's
- 11:00going to start developing like cards.
- 11:02We even have like this
- 11:03when we have a card for each client.
- 11:05So we know, like for example, client
- 11:07A, he's got this personality type
- 11:10and he likes to be reported in this way.
- 11:12It's so much easier
- 11:13to get through to people
- 11:15when you really know what they look
- 11:16for in their relationship.
- 11:18So I feel like that
- 11:20just makes us look as like,
- 11:24I don't know,
- 11:24like we're worth way
- 11:26much more money
- 11:27than what they're paying us.
- 11:28The fact
- 11:29that we're so refined in the calls
- 11:30now, we're so sophisticated,
- 11:32we're speaking to them in a way
- 11:33they really not understand that
- 11:36those two have been
- 11:37the biggest seller locks. Yeah. Cool.
- 11:39And so the method
- 11:41that is using semantic search
- 11:43and creating like a key
- 11:44is kind of the
- 11:45the main points
- 11:47and structures of that thing.
- 11:49And you then
- 11:50which the next point you're talking about
- 11:52is connectors.
- 11:53Do you use the connectors them to
- 11:54pull the data
- 11:55or you have somewhere
- 11:56you are like producing MD files
- 11:59and exporting them or kind of how how is
- 12:02how is that working. So we're doing both.
- 12:04The key here is that within that system,
- 12:07that Karpathy system,
- 12:09Claude knows when it's
- 12:11when you're working
- 12:12on something important,
- 12:13it will build a file and index it.
- 12:16Right. So I don't need to tell it.
- 12:18It just does it by itself.
- 12:20So I'm producing say a new strategy
- 12:24for July for this product.
- 12:27Then by the when I,
- 12:29when I finish the document
- 12:30say things this is ready to go.
- 12:31It will log it into its own memory
- 12:33in the right file and the right cabinet.
- 12:35So that's one way
- 12:37things are getting classified.
- 12:39So it's always
- 12:41updated on the latest developments.
- 12:43Not unlike
- 12:44because induced to look like this
- 12:46before you onboard the client.
- 12:48And then
- 12:49one year goes by and you like your Claude
- 12:53or your ChatGPT,
- 12:55is still giving you stuff
- 12:57based on the
- 12:57onboarding files
- 12:58or the brand Bible stuff,
- 13:00but it's not alive, right?
- 13:01So there's a lot of upkeep
- 13:03that needs to happen there,
- 13:04which now it doesn't, which is sweet.
- 13:07And the other part,
- 13:08yeah, it's connectors
- 13:09and it pulls on stuff on demand
- 13:11or on schedule like super simple.
- 13:13Yeah.
- 13:14What are the kind of the, the, the,
- 13:16the must have connectors
- 13:18in your opinion in terms of this,
- 13:20this growth role.
- 13:21So for me it's it's definitely your
- 13:24AI note taker
- 13:25whatever that is,
- 13:25whether that's fathom
- 13:26granola or the Gemini as we have it,
- 13:30whatever that is, that's a must have.
- 13:32And then of course,
- 13:33all of the channels that you have,
- 13:35you know, like
- 13:35if you run meta,
- 13:37Google, your Shopify,
- 13:38Google Analytics has been really cool.
- 13:40I know no one's using it anymore.
- 13:42I was looking at a thread in the
- 13:44in the group like almost no one uses it,
- 13:46but I think her name is Brie
- 13:48and she's like,
- 13:48I know I use it a lot
- 13:49because it's my my job. She's so kind.
- 13:52But Google
- 13:53Analytics has been great
- 13:54for me as a connector,
- 13:56simply because it lets me run
- 13:58kind of like basic attribution tests.
- 14:01You know that one's master.
- 14:03If you want to get super fancy,
- 14:05there's one called Google.
- 14:07I think it's called Meridian,
- 14:08which basically allows for you
- 14:10to build geo holdouts
- 14:13and that
- 14:14in like a proper attribution experiment
- 14:17through it.
- 14:18And it's free and it's open source,
- 14:19which is crazy.
- 14:20I don't know if it's free,
- 14:21but it's definitely a open source.
- 14:22But that one we're exploring
- 14:23with larger clients,
- 14:25the fact that you can just build
- 14:26your own triple well,
- 14:27now on open source
- 14:29stuff, it's just crazy.
- 14:30But like the basic ones would be Shopify,
- 14:33your note taker
- 14:34and your channels like those would be
- 14:36the very, very basic ones for sure.
- 14:39So a lot of this is, you know, based on
- 14:41sounds like call notes
- 14:43based on what the account is saying.
- 14:45It's based on building a plan.
- 14:46And obviously
- 14:46it's like is able to it enables that.
- 14:50But so tell me about how each of
- 14:53tell me about how this has enabled
- 14:56like more more growth to happen.
- 14:58Like obviously
- 14:58this is uncovering potential
- 15:00you know, gaps within creative strategy
- 15:02is is this uncovering data gaps?
- 15:05Is this helping you
- 15:07develop personas better like or is this
- 15:10developing better landers like how
- 15:12what are the things that this is?
- 15:13I mean,
- 15:13obviously you're connecting
- 15:14all this stuff.
- 15:15You're saying, hey,
- 15:15here's the skills and here's
- 15:17it's like an employee, which is true.
- 15:19But like,
- 15:19how have you seen this actually
- 15:21improve client results significantly?
- 15:24Because I know that's a big part of it,
- 15:25of course.
- 15:25So I would say that the first
- 15:28I mean, it definitely helps us
- 15:30uncover hidden, hidden
- 15:31insights historically.
- 15:34And I mean,
- 15:34my team just laughed at me about this.
- 15:37I would just lock myself
- 15:39in an office room for two days
- 15:42to flesh out a proper monthly
- 15:45plan for a client, right?
- 15:47Like,
- 15:47it just takes so much
- 15:48like when you're doing it for like,
- 15:50and you're spending $1 million
- 15:51a month or something like that,
- 15:53you really need to look at things
- 15:55from every angle, whatever.
- 15:56You can spin up
- 15:57ancient super quickly
- 15:58and have them audit you.
- 16:01One thing that I know
- 16:02well really likes, for
- 16:03example, is having juries.
- 16:06You know, AI like
- 16:07AI judges,
- 16:09like a judge panel
- 16:10running my stuff through
- 16:11that has been a game changer
- 16:12because it helps me
- 16:14come up with good plans quicker.
- 16:16Other stuff
- 16:17that has been super
- 16:18helpful is just spotting trends for me.
- 16:20Right.
- 16:20So like we have alerts set up.
- 16:23So creative fatigued alerts,
- 16:26audience saturation alerts I don't know
- 16:29CPM spike alerts
- 16:31net new reach drop alerts.
- 16:32So we have all of these set up now.
- 16:34And I can catch things
- 16:36before they turn into a fire.
- 16:38And that has been also super helpful.
- 16:40We have creative trackers as well.
- 16:43So I've got people on my watch list
- 16:45on YouTube, for example.
- 16:47And every day
- 16:48my robot comes out
- 16:50and scrapes stuff and feeds.
- 16:51It feeds a brief to our
- 16:52creative strategies.
- 16:54We also have an optimizer bot,
- 16:55and all of this is achievable
- 16:57with the connectors that we're saying.
- 16:58You just need to imagine it.
- 16:59It will create it for you, right?
- 17:00But like there's
- 17:01this on every ad account
- 17:03we're testing this
- 17:04where it's telling me
- 17:06what to kill and why, based on my
- 17:10yeah, my methodology,
- 17:12which sounds pretty basic.
- 17:13It has been a bit
- 17:14hard to really nail it down,
- 17:15but the fact that now every morning
- 17:17I can come in,
- 17:18look at my slack,
- 17:19I have a status update
- 17:21of every single account and suggestions
- 17:24on which creative Cisco
- 17:25which wants to kill.
- 17:26It removes three hours of my day
- 17:29now, and I can just go in
- 17:31and make sure that the client
- 17:33really feels cared for,
- 17:34and I can start looking into different
- 17:36levers now.
- 17:37So it's that's how it has worked for us.
- 17:40That's that's really interesting.
- 17:42One thing I find really hard personally,
- 17:45and I'm really interested
- 17:47in hearing about your experience
- 17:48with this rooster,
- 17:49but with this ten x superpowers, it's
- 17:53really hard
- 17:53to not fall into the trap of just doing
- 17:57ten x more things.
- 17:58Meaning,
- 17:59one thing is
- 18:00that you don't have to lock yourself
- 18:01into a room to create a strategy.
- 18:02But actually
- 18:04and we had discussions of the pod around
- 18:07this, like,
- 18:08you care deeply about what
- 18:09you're making and the quality of it.
- 18:11So how do you how do you make sure
- 18:15that you're actually spending time
- 18:17and energy
- 18:18that you would otherwise just spend
- 18:21gathering things and making sure,
- 18:23like the quality is there
- 18:25because it's really hard
- 18:26to just make ten x more reports
- 18:28instead of making a kick ass report.
- 18:30That's a great question.
- 18:31I think that for me,
- 18:33we have clarity on
- 18:34what really moves the needle,
- 18:35what makes clients stay
- 18:37and what makes them earn more money.
- 18:38So we did a survey last year,
- 18:42and the number one reason
- 18:43why our clients churned was
- 18:45because it was not
- 18:46because of performance.
- 18:47It was not because of creative quality
- 18:49or something like that.
- 18:50It was because they felt like
- 18:52we didn't listen.
- 18:53So it was like basically crappy
- 18:54client communication.
- 18:55So the meeting note and reporting piece
- 19:00attacks that.
- 19:01So I just
- 19:02when I know that,
- 19:02I know that's something I have to create
- 19:05to build for. Right.
- 19:07And then of course
- 19:08the creative piece that's super.
- 19:10There's research,
- 19:11there's ideation
- 19:12and there's the, the actual production.
- 19:14So those three got mapped out.
- 19:16And then for growth
- 19:17it's it's basically
- 19:19just the media buying side of things,
- 19:21which is very much help a lot.
- 19:23When we had clarity
- 19:24that those are the three spheres,
- 19:25we just listed out every task
- 19:27and we ran it through a filter.
- 19:29I feel like a lot of times
- 19:31we try to automate something
- 19:32instead of just eliminating it.
- 19:35And elimination
- 19:36is a lot better than automation.
- 19:38So first
- 19:39we eliminated stuff that shouldn't
- 19:42even be there in the first place.
- 19:43So just have a look at your SOPs
- 19:45and stuff.
- 19:45It just erase processes.
- 19:47And then we took to the task
- 19:49of really automating
- 19:51the non sensitive stuff,
- 19:53which is usually anything
- 19:55that doesn't involve client facing.
- 19:57Right. Got it. Yeah.
- 20:00So that was it was very empirical.
- 20:01I don't have a framework
- 20:02but that would be my.
- 20:04Yeah.
- 20:05So the
- 20:06so let me just
- 20:07this is a new segment in the show
- 20:08that I think we should get into,
- 20:10which is the segment that I call
- 20:13we're not recording,
- 20:14which we are still recording,
- 20:15but I want to pretend
- 20:16as if we're not recording,
- 20:17which is talking about basically,
- 20:19you know, like,
- 20:20what else is getting you jazz?
- 20:21Like what else we would talk about
- 20:22if we turned off the
- 20:23the recording button right now.
- 20:26You know, to me, the
- 20:27I think your idea is really good
- 20:29because I think, like you said,
- 20:30so much of us have attacked these
- 20:32like small little pieces of this right
- 20:34within the stack of what we're doing.
- 20:36Like, help me make better
- 20:37landing pages or whatever.
- 20:39And it's not like
- 20:40pulling it all together.
- 20:41I think,
- 20:42you know, for
- 20:43for you guys,
- 20:44this kind of thing makes sense
- 20:45because the client service
- 20:47that the client is getting, it's
- 20:48like far and above
- 20:49what they were getting before, I guess.
- 20:52What else has been in the AI world
- 20:54that you've seen, been making you like,
- 20:56wow, that's that's incredible.
- 20:58I didn't even think about that.
- 21:00Or, you know, like,
- 21:02we could have we could do X, Y, and Z.
- 21:03I didn't even think like
- 21:05that kind of thing.
- 21:05That's really feeling
- 21:06like you're going to drive
- 21:07client results even better.
- 21:08Like, I don't know, I'm just curious
- 21:10what else
- 21:10you guys,
- 21:10what else is like
- 21:11on your mind in terms of really
- 21:13outside of the AI growth strategist
- 21:15or maybe in combination with it?
- 21:16I actually want to hear Thomas
- 21:18on this one first.
- 21:20Well, well,
- 21:22I've been
- 21:23playing a lot with trying to spot
- 21:27trends and patterns
- 21:28and in all my schedule tasks nowadays
- 21:33I have a cloud codex
- 21:37kind of logged learnings from each one,
- 21:40and then I ask it at the next run
- 21:44to try to spot
- 21:46overall long trends on things.
- 21:48So for example,
- 21:49I have a schedule
- 21:50who are basically running
- 21:52all our red clients.
- 21:53The clients are not underperforming
- 21:55and every day it creates a new report
- 21:58kind of on a specific client
- 22:00going through all the communication,
- 22:02all the results
- 22:02and all the best practices, etc., etc.,
- 22:04which has been valuable.
- 22:06But now after a few weeks
- 22:09of also kind of trying
- 22:11to spot the trends of things,
- 22:13that has really, really elevated
- 22:15how we're able to kind of pinpoint
- 22:17that, okay,
- 22:18most of our clients are struggling
- 22:20at the moment with Google ads
- 22:21are selling these kind of products,
- 22:23or they're on this specific platform, or
- 22:28they lack
- 22:29a number of
- 22:29creatives versus
- 22:31the ones over performing, etc..
- 22:33So for me,
- 22:34a very simple thing is to kind of add
- 22:36into the schedule
- 22:37that you have a MDF file
- 22:39who's actually logging inside
- 22:41of every run
- 22:42and then trying to
- 22:44see the overall picture.
- 22:45So that's kind of one of the things
- 22:47I've been really excited
- 22:47about lately is, again, I'm a data guy.
- 22:50I think that's super interesting,
- 22:51but trying to help AI
- 22:56help you see the trends that
- 22:58you might not see otherwise
- 23:00and do that in the automated way
- 23:02so I don't have to prompt it to find it,
- 23:04but it's actually just spotting it
- 23:05and telling me
- 23:06that for me
- 23:07has been one really cool thing lately.
- 23:09For me, it's I love that.
- 23:11I just want to say I love that
- 23:13I want to spend more time doing that.
- 23:14I think that's very much worth it for me.
- 23:18I think it's been a couple of things.
- 23:20One is just a very simple prompt
- 23:22that I stole from from a newsletter.
- 23:25I think it's the Andreessen Horowitz guy.
- 23:28While those guys can't remember the name,
- 23:30but they have this really good prompt.
- 23:33And it's funny because I
- 23:36do everything on Whisper Flow, right?
- 23:37You guys use Whisper Flow for sure?
- 23:39Of course. Right.
- 23:40I even have a paddle, you know?
- 23:42That's me, dude. That's insane.
- 23:44So on my whisper floor,
- 23:46I have this this shortcut.
- 23:48Instead of doing the
- 23:49to place the entire prompt,
- 23:50I thought, don't suck my dick.
- 23:52So like it tastes
- 23:54this prompt that forces it.
- 23:57Yeah, yeah,
- 23:58that forces it to not be psycho.
- 24:02Dude, the
- 24:03the results of AB
- 24:05tested it for a month now.
- 24:07It's crazy how psychopathic AI is.
- 24:10Of course, like I we all know it is,
- 24:13but when
- 24:14I force every output on that prompt,
- 24:18I am so surprised
- 24:21on how psychopathic it is.
- 24:23So that's been one thing
- 24:24that I just feel like
- 24:26that thing number two, I also feel like
- 24:29we're heading into this world,
- 24:30and I don't know
- 24:31if you guys are catching it,
- 24:33catching it to curious everything.
- 24:35Every landing page looks the same now.
- 24:37Every pop up looks the same,
- 24:39everything looks the same.
- 24:40And it's the cloud code.
- 24:42Like the cloud design is.
- 24:44Yeah, everything looks the exact same.
- 24:47And I find that
- 24:49as I think that's an opportunity
- 24:51and I find it fascinating
- 24:53that no one's doing anything about it.
- 24:54I think that just tells us,
- 24:56you know, how a little bit of how
- 24:59number one brand
- 25:00is going to be a huge moat?
- 25:02Because if you force brand into stuff
- 25:04that that's going to be even more
- 25:06of a differentiator now.
- 25:07And think number two just tells you
- 25:09how lazy our brains as humans are.
- 25:11So I feel like sycophantic
- 25:13AI and the laziness of of yeah,
- 25:17the laziness
- 25:19of the human brain
- 25:20in terms of everything is looking
- 25:21the same.
- 25:22Are we not realizing this?
- 25:24Those two fascinate me.
- 25:26If we would have paused this part
- 25:27because I would.
- 25:28I would have said those two.
- 25:29Yeah, yeah.
- 25:30Can you two points before.
- 25:32Sorry, Andrew,
- 25:33because I just can't get this,
- 25:35this image out of my head.
- 25:36So I can see in like two settings saying,
- 25:40don't suck my dick.
- 25:41I can see it
- 25:41when you're like in a coffee shop
- 25:43working remotely
- 25:44and your whispering to your computer
- 25:45and then telling you like.
- 25:47And also when you're working late and
- 25:49it's, it's it's interesting
- 25:52that you chose
- 25:53those kind of works, but yes,
- 25:56especially that people are lazy
- 25:58and you should never forget that.
- 26:00And I think just caring
- 26:0110% more than others
- 26:03about looking different.
- 26:04You can totally win.
- 26:05Sorry
- 26:06I'm not for you to know yours as well.
- 26:08No, I mean to me it's I think,
- 26:11can you paste that
- 26:12or send us that
- 26:13so we can have it in the show notes?
- 26:14I think that'd be awesome. Absolutely.
- 26:16Yeah.
- 26:16I think, you know,
- 26:17I think that's true to me.
- 26:18It's it's
- 26:19the reason that you're the attractive
- 26:22of the AI
- 26:22growth strategist
- 26:23thing is really big to me is, you know,
- 26:25I think so much of it
- 26:26is, is now as a people
- 26:28that lead organizations is
- 26:30what are we doing
- 26:32on the overarching every part of it?
- 26:34I think we're we're solving
- 26:35little pieces of it.
- 26:36Hey, let's build a new lander. Boom.
- 26:38And then you say, like
- 26:39the ascetic gets copied, like it's
- 26:40it's like it's done and then it's done.
- 26:42Okay.
- 26:42And so now the question is, is
- 26:44how do you use multiple pieces of this
- 26:47to just, like, truly drive
- 26:48things forward in an organization?
- 26:50And I think where a lot of people
- 26:51haven't done it
- 26:52as much as a lot of folks
- 26:53have been focusing on client execution
- 26:55and helping them execution
- 26:56client results better, which is great,
- 26:57but I think there can be
- 26:59a lot more
- 26:59that can be done
- 27:00on helping people
- 27:01to market themselves a lot better.
- 27:02And so that to me
- 27:04is another phase of this.
- 27:05It's like each system of the business
- 27:06this is going to touch and like,
- 27:08where did I spend
- 27:09too much money on lunch last week is one,
- 27:11you know,
- 27:11and it's like
- 27:12you can build all these in there.
- 27:14And I think
- 27:15the more that you start
- 27:16thinking about that now, the better off
- 27:18you're going to be.
- 27:19This could be on personnel.
- 27:21This could be,
- 27:21you know, like where are they
- 27:23spending their time,
- 27:24how are they optimizing it.
- 27:25And the more that you're able
- 27:26to track that and have data
- 27:27for AI to actually work with,
- 27:29the better off you're going to be.
- 27:30So to me,
- 27:30that's the most exciting part of this,
- 27:32is that
- 27:32we're moving away from the siloed idea.
- 27:34We're moving into
- 27:35organizational effectiveness
- 27:37and organizational, you know,
- 27:40almost like
- 27:40making things
- 27:41more efficient for for folks
- 27:42and making their lives a lot easier.
- 27:44So we have seen some of that.
- 27:46And there's some of those pieces
- 27:48like we're in like v1 of,
- 27:51you know,
- 27:51there's products like HQ where,
- 27:53you know,
- 27:53people are able to like the teams
- 27:55able to come together and work together
- 27:57in AI projects and stuff.
- 27:58Although I have heard some mixed results
- 28:00on that, to be honest.
- 28:01But
- 28:03that's the idea is attractive, right?
- 28:04You're like, everybody's in a silo.
- 28:06So now it's like,
- 28:07how do we keep building this
- 28:08in a way that's
- 28:09going to touch all pieces
- 28:11and make the agency itself
- 28:13more effective,
- 28:15or make the brand itself more effective?
- 28:17You know, so I think so.
- 28:19I think there's going to be probably
- 28:21you're starting
- 28:22to see this in job descriptions
- 28:23that that gets shared.
- 28:24But you're seeing like people.
- 28:25I saw you yesterday, one for an AI
- 28:27enabled creative strategist.
- 28:28Like they're talking about that
- 28:30and saying you have to be good with AI.
- 28:32I think that that's going to be
- 28:34you're going to
- 28:34and you see people like Grant,
- 28:36who we've had on the podcast
- 28:37we talked about,
- 28:38we've seen people that are,
- 28:40you know, overarching AI thinkers almost.
- 28:43Right.
- 28:43And those people are almost integrators.
- 28:46And I think you're going to start
- 28:48to see in large
- 28:48organizations,
- 28:49somebody is going to come in
- 28:51either consultant
- 28:51or they're going to hire people.
- 28:53That's going to be in-house
- 28:54AI integrator.
- 28:56And that role is insanely attractive
- 29:00and is going to make a lot of people
- 29:02a lot of money, because
- 29:05you're almost
- 29:06like once you start getting into it,
- 29:08you start to see results.
- 29:09Clients start to see better
- 29:12results from you.
- 29:12They see better communication from you.
- 29:14Well, then it's just like, what?
- 29:15Where are we going to stop?
- 29:16And once you start, you know,
- 29:18the snowball keeps rolling
- 29:19and it's like then it's
- 29:20then it's on every project like then.
- 29:23And I think we'll continue
- 29:25to see more and more of that.
- 29:26So anyway.
- 29:27Those are some of my like
- 29:28that's one of my rant
- 29:29about what I think is interesting.
- 29:30I agree, and I think I think we're all
- 29:33we're very I mean, there's a big change.
- 29:37I feel like in terms of how
- 29:40or roles are starting
- 29:42to realize and use
- 29:44AI in a totally different way.
- 29:46So exciting times for sure.
- 29:48Yeah, I think it's it's cool.
- 29:50So rooster, like what else,
- 29:52what else that you've seen lately
- 29:53has been inspiring to you
- 29:55that's like changed
- 29:56the way you thought about stuff?
- 29:57Well, I would say
- 29:58I think you touched a fantastic
- 30:00point there.
- 30:01You know,
- 30:01it's it's
- 30:02I think it's hard enough right now
- 30:04to keep up with all of the developments
- 30:06within the AI stuff
- 30:08and just understanding what's new.
- 30:10And then how do I apply this to
- 30:11my field is challenging enough.
- 30:13And then having to run that through
- 30:15an entire team of people,
- 30:16that is a bigger, bigger challenge.
- 30:19And I just think to your point,
- 30:22that's a little bit of of why I.
- 30:25Yeah, why
- 30:27the AI growth strategies was this thing.
- 30:30Because I do feel like
- 30:34if you don't understand
- 30:36the foundations of it,
- 30:37it's really hard for you
- 30:38to teach it to the entire team.
- 30:40I've seen teams where
- 30:44you have like two really strong
- 30:47AI thinkers, and the rest of the people
- 30:49just uses the tools.
- 30:51Or like the new automations
- 30:53that these two dudes push, right?
- 30:55But to me,
- 30:56that's inefficient,
- 30:57because if you can empower
- 31:00everyone on the team
- 31:01to just be on par,
- 31:03then you have like five builders.
- 31:06The challenge there is, as Thomas says,
- 31:08keeping them focused on
- 31:10what really matters,
- 31:11I would say,
- 31:12but I think that's an easier problem
- 31:14to solve,
- 31:15as opposed
- 31:16to just spoon feeding your own team.
- 31:19And I do feel like the jump in quality
- 31:24in every single aspect
- 31:26of the client experience
- 31:28as an agency owner is so big,
- 31:30there's just going to be agencies
- 31:31eating other agencies lunch big time
- 31:36if if like, but like I would be,
- 31:38you know, we are small, we're very lean.
- 31:41But if I had a bigger agency still,
- 31:44I would be investing a lot of my time
- 31:46on getting all of my client facing people
- 31:49up to date on AI
- 31:50and upgraded as soon as possible
- 31:52because they're going to be
- 31:53integrating everything.
- 31:55Yeah, yeah.
- 31:57It's interesting. Well, that's a big one.
- 31:58I, you gave
- 31:59you gave us a lot of interesting thoughts
- 32:01to think about today.
- 32:02And rooster
- 32:03we keep these episodes short
- 32:05and tactical and helpful.
- 32:06Thomas
- 32:06anything else
- 32:07you'd like to say on the close?
- 32:08And no, I think we captured a lot.
- 32:10And I think it's cool
- 32:11to talk about the growth part
- 32:13and not just the creative part
- 32:15that's kind of over
- 32:16reported on if you look everywhere.
- 32:18So I think this was really cool
- 32:19to kind of deep,
- 32:20deep dive into your thinking
- 32:22and your discovery service.
- 32:23So thank you for sharing.
- 32:24Thank you guys.
- 32:25So cool. Thanks.
- 32:28So resonated.
- 32:29All right. Take care. Bye.
