Transcript
- 0:01SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the Heal Yourself Podcast, where we dive deep into all things healing.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: I'm Kira, a traditional naturopath and functional nutritionist.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And I'm Denise, the speech leads pathologist and a self-love coach for adults and teens.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: And we are here to guide you through this transformative process of healing your body, mind, and soul.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: Which means we're not staying in one lake.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: One episode we're typing deep from the clinical, the gut at the nervous system collabs, and the next we're unpacking identity, frequency, fake, whatever story for realizing we've been attached to that week.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Because your body was never separate from the rest of you.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: The gut at the nervous system, the story you carry about who you are.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: It's all one conversation.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Honestly, think of it less like a polished podcast and more like sitting in on a conversation between two besties who happen to also be obsessed with healing.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: So pull up a seat, no spiritual bypassing, no toxic positivity, just the truth about what it actually takes to come home to yourself.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Your body already knows the way.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Let's go remember it together.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Today, Denise and I are talking about living in the matrix, which I've actually never seen that movie, have you?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I have, but I mean it's it's a long time ago.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: I really don't remember.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: All I remember is I just love the actor, obviously.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: He's so damn hot.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Um he still is, actually, but even aging.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Um, but that's I don't remember like a lot of the details, to be honest with you.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: I probably should watch it again.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I just I probably should watch it, right?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Was it released?
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: I don't, I 90s maybe.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: I'm one of the crazy people that never like I saw snippets of it, right?
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And of course everybody knows what the matrix is, but I never sat and watched the whole thing.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Maybe maybe I need to watch it.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: I'm looking it up.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: It was in 1999.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Ah, see, I said 90s.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: That was good.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Um, so when I say staying out of the matrix, what does that mean?
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like define it for us.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Well, I was gonna ask you, what do you think of when I say you're with your topic?
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Bring Ted to the table then.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: It's hilarious.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Then he's like, I don't even want to answer it.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, for me, when I say staying out of the matrix is staying out of everything that's 3D, staying out of everything that doesn't matter.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: And I I can't relate this to the movie because I really didn't see it, but it is like we're living in another world, right?
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: It's maybe maybe it's better to maybe to say that now that you said that, maybe it's better to say in the box.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: In the box, because I also want you to kind of go over what is a 3D and what because sometimes some someone listening who may may not be as versed in spirituality spirituality as you and I, like, what do you mean by 3D?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Is this a 3D printer?
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Or what is a 5D?
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: But you know more because you have uh taken a lot of Jim's um you know courses and the way that he speaks, so maybe kind of go over like the 3D and the 5D and all of that stuff.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: And I don't even like when people talk about living in the 5D, I have no idea what they're talking about.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: But to me, right, and other people may have a different definition, but for me, when I say 3D, staying out of the matrix, it's just again a lot of the worldly stuff that doesn't matter, right?
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Like politics, healthcare, big pharma, big ag, um arguments with someone, road rage, like literally the shit that doesn't matter, right?
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: People get so caught up in in minute, you know, just like well, I was gonna say minuscule, but I'll I'll I'll keep that word.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: And in this scheme of like your life and what you're here to do and what your soul is being called to do, it's it's not relevant.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: So, and I kind of want to put it in perspective and correct me if I'm wrong from in that perspective, but again, it's my perspective, so let's see.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: On the way here on the drive, because I had a 40-minute drive kind of thinking about it, and the image that came to me was the whole, if you uh because you know, like when you look at the the universe from the space, like the space, you know, when we look at the space, uh uh Earth where we live is usually a dot, right?
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: And there's it's we are surrounded by the planets, and like it's just amazing how just small we are, yet as human beings, we perceive that we are the owners of the world, right?
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: We see ourselves way bigger than we are, and that puts it a lot in perspective, is like there's just so much out there with we are literally in a dot, which is in a box.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: So maybe what you're explaining right now or 3D, 5D, whatever, matrix, and etc., is knowing that we are a dot, and the universe is so much more vast than that.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: So you getting stuck in traffic is nothing.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's literally, it's not even minuscule, it's nothing, right?
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: So I feel that you know, because look at the universe, it's huge, and we aren't a dot.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: We can't, you can't, we can barely see Earth.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yet we treat everything as we are we own it, or like it's a huge deal, right?
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And this, yeah, this is where all of our episodes tie together of like learning to pause and emotions and all of the things, but really, if you would just like wake up from your morning and look at how do I want my day to be?
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: How do I want to show up in this world?
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Who do I need to be?
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Who do I need to identify as?
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: And go into your day that way.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: But so many people wake up, and here's where I'll say the 3D or the Matrix or the box, they start scrolling their phone.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Let me see what's on social media that doesn't even exist.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: It's so dumb.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Like I'm I'm just gonna say it.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: I get on there, I will own it, but I know that it's so dumb.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: People will get on social media, they'll check their emails, they'll look at their bank account, they'll look at all of this stuff.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: But when you die, do you really think that stuff mattered?
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: No.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Were you here to scroll social media?
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Were you here just to make money?
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Were you here to stress about work emails?
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Were you here to no?
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: It could be just checking, get you know, getting turning on the TV.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Like if someone's you know saying, Oh, I don't do social media, like it could be the TV.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: But it is the I believe what you're saying is also the repetitiveness of that routine versus truly taking a breath and thanking the the universe God.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: We refer to it as God, however, you fill in the blank with however you want to, that you have awakened, yeah, that you're awake, and what is show me what else I need to do, because I don't believe that you know, we came just to like check social media or watch TV or you know drink coffee in the morning and then check emails and then so forth and so forth.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: So this is where um where you can see the bigger picture.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: And what I've recently been saying, because at the end of the day, we are also limited by our humanness, right?
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so we're very limited by our humanness, and it's okay to say that because sometimes my prayer or when I'm journaling, I say, I understand that I don't see a big picture, but I know you, God, has a better plan for me than I have for myself, and so I surrender that, whatever it is, even if it is coming in a shitty situation that I need to learn from.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: So I feel just knowing and recognizing that there is something stronger than you, and the humanness limits it.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I don't know what you mentioned earlier that triggered something is like, oh, I think when you're talking about social media, it's okay to like get sucked in into into social media.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: I do it, I said it, I own it, right?
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Or like you know, so it's but sometimes what what helps is just saying that I know I'm I'm I'm bigger than this, I know my soul is just here to do other things, but right now I'm just sucked in into my human body, my human body or this human suit needs that validation.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Human suit needs that thing because this is what helps your soul grow.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: So it's okay to just kind of know that you are also a human, and that's why you have you know, like you're Kira and I'm Denise, but yeah, and and that's the thing too, is like, yes, I'll scroll social media and I'll sit there and I'll be like, Oh my gosh, I just wasted 20 minutes of my life, but I'm not letting anything get to me.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: And and I used to, right?
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: I'd get triggered by things.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, I don't agree with this person.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Now I need a comment.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And that's also what I mean, right?
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Live live in the world, sure, be present and and participate in normal human things, right?
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: But don't get so caught up in it that it becomes your problem because it's not.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: Scroll social media and just be like, you know, what you said, it's fine.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: I'm having this human experience.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: I want to scroll, I want to escape for 20 minutes, it's okay.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: But if it becomes a, oh my gosh, I'm so frustrated by what I'm seeing, and I cannot believe all of these things happening.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: And can you believe what so-and-so said on here?
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: And then it becomes an issue and then it sucks you in.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: So it's, you know, I know you said routine, so yes, that can be a piece.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Sometimes people wake up and they have those routines that don't serve them, but also it can be these little things throughout the day of the road rage that kicks in.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Go back to our episode, make a new interpretation, don't ruin your entire day because of some of these things that happen around you that don't necessarily even involve you.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: And and that again is where I say stay out of it.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: And this is where you want to refer back to the, you know, being in the box, being in the matrix, being getting stuck is just like look stepping back and looking and saying, look at the beautiful universe that I'm in, that I'm part of, that I get to be a part of it.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: I chose to be here at this time.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: And then just you know, and then I think once you step back and see this, your problem or whatever it is, doesn't become as I'm not saying there isn't a problem, and yes, some problems can be fixed, and the problems can be just, you know, I don't know, learned from.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Learned from, uh, accepted, etc.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: But know that it's it's and it's only temporary because not every problem set lasts forever unless you make it last forever in your mind.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: So this is, I think, where we're trying to bring home is you're way more than that.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: And how now that I said that, I want to give you an example.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Um, as all as all of you know, that I am a speech therapist and I do work uh with high schoolers one day a week.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: So I attend I attend things called IEP meetings.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: So usually the kiddos in schools that need extra help.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: So every three years we assess the kiddos, we reassess them to see if they meet eligibility criteria, what has changed, whatnot.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: High schoolers attend their meetings, so they are part of that.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: They're listening to everything that you say, also additionally to their parents.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: And um so uh last week I was sitting in a meeting, and like two team members were it was just all about the the the weaknesses of the behavior and the this and the low scores and whatever.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: And I went started going through my report, and I just was like, I cannot deal with the weaknesses, so I just focused so much on the strengths, and I was talking to him directly and you know, him saying that he wants to be an entrepreneur.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: So I kind of said, you know, you can do whatever you want to do, and there are some habits that you can acquire from now to help you be the entrepreneur that you want to be, and um, because I there's so many entrepreneurs that don't have college degrees are super successful, and these kids need to know, especially because I'm in a low socioeconomic status area, and I didn't even this is such a habit for me because kids are not just grades, kids are not just their weaknesses, they are really just our we're not just our struggles.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: And I had an email from his mom ex like thanking me so much about that.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: So I was like, this is where it's like we are more than our struggles, we are more than what people say about us and things like that.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So it's really important to just remember that that you know you're not just this person just going by and drinking the coffee and going to the car and driving and things like that.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: If you look at the universe at space, you'll recognize how you know blessed you are, how blessed we are to be part of that, even through the struggles, right?
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: And that's that's the thing that can be so powerful is when you really open your eyes.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: And I'm not talking like a figurative sense of like, are you awake or not?
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: I'm literally saying, like, when you really open your eyes and look around, it's like, oh my gosh, okay, the sun is shining, it's beautiful out.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Look at the birds out there, look at everything I'm connected to.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: We're part of nature, and you're present, right?
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: Like you're really being present and giving gratitude for all of those things.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: And again, this is how all of our episodes are tying together because I'm just thinking of like we did an episode on gratitude.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: We didn't, you know, like it's just all working together.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: But when you can work on those things and be present and stay out of the box, your life just becomes a whole new experience.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: And I'm not saying you're not going to be triggered, you're not gonna be sucked into social media because you are here, you are having a human experience.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Denise and I do the same things, but you become a different person, right?
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Your identity really does shift.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: And it's like I'm not someone that's triggered like I used to be.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: I'm someone that's more present, I'm someone that is happier, I'm someone that feels healthier.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: And of course, I'm gonna have moments where I fall back into that, but it's easier for me to get out of them.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: And I'm not saying my life is perfect because it's not.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: There's crap that still happens all the time, and I'm stressed out and you know, whatever.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: But when you can just get out of the box and look at everything around you, it's like oh my gosh, what a life we are living.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: And if you're saying, if you're listening and you're saying, Well, I don't have time for this, then we have a big, big, big problem.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: If you find yourself like giving yourself excuses, I'm gonna call you out on that and say, I mean, we have a way bigger problem than this.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: So you definitely we need to go back to a lot of the episodes that we talked about that do tie in together because it is really important that you just yeah smell the roses, man, like smell the freaking coffee and yeah.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: And if you don't have time for that, then and you do you're allowing yourself to remain in the in the box and you're gonna basically die in the box, and what have you done?
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and what did you did you do what your soul came here to do?
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: Probably not.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: If you're just checking off boxes and continuing to do the same things over and over, and even if you don't have time, right?
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: If you're like, oh my gosh, uh Denise and Kira always talking about these walks.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: I don't have time for a walk, it's hot outside, whatever.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Fine, on your drive to work, on your drive with the kids, whatever, stop and smell the roses there, right?
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Use your senses, you can do that.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: And one of the episodes, I think it was I don't know if it was last week or the week before.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Um, was it Zach?
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: I forget.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: I'm at a butcher, but guys, it we've only had one guy, right?
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: On all of our guest episodes.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Jonathan, thank you, Jonathan.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: We've had one guy, so go find his episode because it really was about stopping and smelling the roses and these quick things that you can do, right?
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: And those quick things add up.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Denise always talks about the one percent.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: This is the one percent, it's just these quick things.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: And if you're still like, no, I don't, I really don't know how to get started, then look at the link below.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: We do have our course, which is what$11, guys, and these are short lessons.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, that's this is the one percent shift.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Listen to these.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we yeah, we just gave you tools, and but you know, like we have talked about the tools and relying on the tools and stuff like that, but it is all for you to actually start and you know, be in the present moment.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: And I know we've done an episode about being in the present moment, but it is just you know, kind of like you don't want your children to be labeled, um, you know, as part of the being them in the box.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: You want to we always hear think about outside of the box, right?
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: People who are doing great things in life are thinking outside of the box, so it's about time to, you know, get outside box.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: And you know, I've said this before, but it it's also more than you, right?
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: We're not we're not doing this podcast just for a few women to listen and make changes to their own lives.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: It ripples into the world to your kids, to your family, to your spouse, to your partner, to your friends, to the next generation and the next generation.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Like this is how we make changes in the world.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: This is the ripple effect.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: So it's not you.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Don't just do it for you.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: You're doing it for I mean, it sounds really cheesy, but you're doing it for humanity because you are one with humanity.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Amen to that.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Look at the universe.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: We are yeah, they're just me in a different avatar and a different yes, with less attitude.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Oh god.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Short and sweet and to the point.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sweet, yeah.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: Just get out of the damn box.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe that's the mantra.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: I know huh.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: All right, now four six.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: You know the drill?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Close your eyes if you're not driving.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: But if you are, please do not close them.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Hand on the heart, other one on the belly.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Inhale for four, one, two, three, four, hold, two, three, four, exhale, five, four, three, two, one.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Get out of the damn box again.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: Inhale, one, two, three, four, hold, two, three, four, and exhale.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Five, four, three, two, one.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Get out of the damn box.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: And I love it because right here that's the one percent shift.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: If you just did this 20 second breathing exercise and you were present, that's it.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: You should feel a shift in your body and your mental state.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: So stay with it, and we'll see you on the next episode.
