Transcript
- 0:01SPEAKER_02: Welcome to the Heal Yourself Podcast, where we dive deep into all things healing.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: I'm Kira, a traditional naturopath and functional nutritionist.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And I'm Denise, a speech-linked pathologist and a self-love coach for adults and teens.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: And we are here to guide you through the transformative process of healing your body, mind, and soul.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: Which means we're not staying in one lane.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: One episode we're diving deep in the clinical, the gut, the nervous system collabs, and the next we're unpacking identity, frequency, fate, whatever story we're realizing we've been attached to that week.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: Because your body was never separate from the rest of you.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: The gut, the nervous system, the story you carry about who you are.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: It's all one conversation.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Honestly, think of it less like a polished podcast and more like sitting in on a conversation between two besties who happen to also be obsessed with healing.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: So pull up a seat, no spiritual bypassing, no toxic posity, just the truth about what it actually takes to come home to yourself.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Your body already knows the way.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Let's go remember it together.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: And today, Denise and I are gonna talk about the ego.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Something that I mean, something that we have to battle every single day, right?
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's part of you.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: It is part of you.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: So we're not gonna hate on it, we're gonna talk about it.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: No, because it's there to help us grow.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: It's there to protect us.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: We know that.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: But sometimes it just overly does it.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Like, you know how sometimes like you have a mom who's overly protective, same thing.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So we just need to tone it down.
- 1:48unknown: Yeah.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: To train it to tone it down.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like right?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Because we don't want to hate on it because we don't want to say, oh, I have too much ego.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: No, sometimes you need it.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: You need it, absolutely.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: And I want to clarify too, right?
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Because you know, people think of the ego as like, okay, you're you're conceited or you're self-absorbed.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Sure, that's one way to look at somebody who has a big ego.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: We're not talking about that.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: We're talking about ego as like the identity we've constructed, right?
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Our accomplishments, our failures, our money, our appearance, you know, all of those things are ego.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: So I want to clarify.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: And ego is so I've been reading Wayne Dyer.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: Um, because you know, Denise and I are always reading something, always listening to something, not because we feel like we need to, but because it feels good.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: And I bounce back and forth between like my mysteries, and then I was like, oh, I finished my mystery.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Let me go read some more Wayne Dyer.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: And he's talking about ego as being like a false sense of self, the part of us that believes X, Y, Z.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: And we're gonna actually dig into that a little bit because I think it's it's interesting because, like we said in the beginning, the ego is part of us, it's something that we're dealing with on a daily basis, so it's not like we want to like shove it back inside, but how do we work with this?
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Um what did he say?
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Because I know that you were reading something, and then we were just gonna tackle it.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so he says that the ego has like six beliefs, okay, right?
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: So the first one is I am what I have, and think about that the status, the house, the money, the degrees, the possession, like all of it.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: But if ours, yes, all of this.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: I am what I have, but we're not.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: That's not us.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: That doesn't make us.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: That's that's the ego talking and saying, like, you need to show it off, you need to feel worthy, you need XYZ.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: But when you die, are you taking any of that with you?
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Absolutely not.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Does anybody even matter?
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: So you're not what you have.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: No, you're not the car that's in the driveway or the three cars that are in the garage, you're not the garage, you're not the house, you're not the kids, even.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: No, you're not like because you know, like a lot of people, yeah, like you're what what we have, like see I have kids, you know what I mean?
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Like it maybe it's not a possession, um, but it is really important to differentiate, so don't base your habits, and and excuse me if I'm sounding like ugh, because I'm sick, but anyway, because I feel sometimes when we identify as I am this house, or I am this degree, or I am this, then hence we have the habits, we have the emotions, we have the beliefs, and then this is where you are living the false self versus the true self beyond that bodysuit, right?
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: And we're not saying don't don't recognize, and and we're absolutely not saying don't have them things because yeah, Denise likes the nice things.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Well, I love the nice things, like don't you even get close to my nice things, but you know, when they used to define me, they don't anymore.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't rely on them to feel good, you know what I mean?
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I don't rely on something to be like, ooh, you know, look at me, world.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: I'm I've arrived.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: Like, right.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Well, I tend to do that with my confidence, which you know, look at me, world.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Here you go.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Denise has arrived, but anyway, I don't know if we'd call it arrogance, I would call it definitely leading the room with confidence, but um, but again, that's another ego, that's another identity that I have constructed for myself, right?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: So, but beyond all this, beyond the humanness, beyond the human bodysuit, whatever, it is your true self, and and that's not what you have because, like you said, we're not taking them with us.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: No, and I I think it goes looking at the soul.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: Like, what are you here for?
- 5:56SPEAKER_02: What are you here to accomplish?
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: What are you here to learn?
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Um, and you brought up the kids, and I think that's an important thing too.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: No, our children, our spouses, whatever, they're not our possessions.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't own my child.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: However, we can also lose ourselves in them, right?
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: You're you, you can't just live for a child.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: You also have to have that human experience.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: Your soul came here for something, and it wasn't solely to do everything for one other person.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: So I think that's an important decision.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I love that you said that because a lot of people do that for their spouses and they lose themselves.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: And then they wake up one day and the children are grown, and you're like, what is going on?
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: You identify so much with that, but I I love how you brought it up.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Um what I have, and and yeah, I mean, yes, you have your kids, but like you're beyond that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: So his second one is I am what I do, and this this is your career, this is productivity, right?
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: Me, I've spoken about this so many times.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Type A, gotta prove myself.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: I need the world to know that I know my stuff.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: Like, we're not what we do.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: At the end of the day, nobody cares, right?
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: We did an episode on you're not that important.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: What's that?
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: You're not taking that with you either.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: No, I'm not taking, yeah.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: I think that's the biggest distinction because I love how you started with that, and that could be anyone's listening um reminder when you are overly attached to something or whatever it is, it's important to remember, am I taking it with me?
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: And you're not, because you came to this world with nothing, and you leave this world with nothing, right?
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: So, like the Catholics say during um what is it before Lent?
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: You're talking to someone the day.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: It's been a long time.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: It's Wednesday and they do the cross thing on you from the ashes and say like you started from ashes into ashes, right?
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know what the actual saying is, but that's the so uh I feel that if you leave that if something throughout the day is constantly keeping you, and you remind yourself, like, wait a minute, this thing right now, eventually it will pass, whatever it is, because at the end of the day, no, I'm not taking that with me.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I'm not taking my problems with me.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: It might lighten up a little bit.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and this is where like digging into the ego.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: Why do you feel the need to have these accomplishment accomplishments?
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: I can't talk today.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Why do you feel the need to be productive?
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Why do you need to feel needed?
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Like those are things that then you can start to not obsessively, but start to look inward, you know, at because we are not what we do.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Okay, so third one.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: This is a tough one because a lot of these are gonna blend together.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: I am what other people think of me.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: So also the approval, right?
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: Like I am what I do, career, but then now approval also ties into that.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: But then we've got social media, which is such a big one right now.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: Being liked, that was another one for me.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: I want everybody to like me.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: No, no one that it doesn't work that way.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: Like right now, I'm just gonna be like, You don't like everyone.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: That's really hard.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's always gonna be people that don't like you and criticism.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: So you're not what other people think of you again.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: You're not taking that with you.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Absolutely not, and you truly are not, because you know how many times you stop yourself from doing what you want to do, from achieving what you want to achieve, from saying what you want to say, just because you have that belief.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what if my parents think this?
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: What if my friends, yeah, like whatever they can think whatever they want at the end of the day, you are not, you did not come to here on earth in this lifetime to please others, right?
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: And I'm not saying again to be, you know, all self-absorbed, but you also don't want to overly live for others because we've seen it, we've seen when people overly live for others.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: What happens to them?
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: They get sick, yep, like physically sick.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: So why are you doing this to yourself?
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: No, and I get it, and then we have stages, Kira though, right?
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Like when you're 20s and oh my gosh, teeny teens, high school, obviously, but then again, little by little, you'll just start realizing that what people say and think of you, and they'll forget it.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: People will forget right away, and you're still obsessing over it, and it's like they totally forgot, they moved on to another person, and it just doesn't matter.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Who cares?
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Like that's that's the hard part, and that was the hardest part for me.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: But seriously, who cares?
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: Like, so what if somebody thinks that about me?
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: If you are confident in who you are and what you're doing, then it doesn't it doesn't matter, but you're letting that take over your own life.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, and that's their opinion, and they're and that's their opinion based on their own experiences, on their own upbringing, on their own ego, right?
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: So, but yeah, it's crazy how many times I mean, I'm one of them, like I've stopped myself doing so many things or saying so many things because of what are people gonna think of me, what are people gonna say?
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: It's so debilitating, and then you just stop, and it's just so freeing because it's just it's you, like the relationship that you have with your soul, with yourself, with your true self that came to this world for something way bigger than that stupid thing that you have on the table.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and the funny thing is, even though we're saying we're not doing this to be liked, if that is in your nature, the more you are yourself, the more you're gonna be liked.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: People know if you're putting on a show or hiding because you're worried that someone's gonna feel this way about you.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: People are much more drawn to real authentic people that like stand in their power, know what they want, don't care.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, absolutely.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Next.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Okay, next.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: Um, I am separate from everyone else.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: And we've we've done episodes.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: It's a little bit hard.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: This one is a little bit hard to understand.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: So I think the simplest way is like competition, right?
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Look at that.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Like you're out there competing for a job, competing sports is a good analogy, right?
- 12:42SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm playing this other team or this other person.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: We are all connected, like we really are, and that one it's a hard one to understand.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: And I know we spoke about this, I don't know, post-COVID or something.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: We spoke about this a while ago for something, but the fact that I don't remember when, but with because it's this one's hard because it is hard.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: The concept of we are one has always existed and throughout all religions and throughout all spiritualities and throughout all of the teachings.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: We are one, yeah, and we as human beings, we're very we have a very, very, very, very hard time understanding how I can be one with that person in another world that I don't even know.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: But you are one.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Well, we are one.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: So that's what I want you to because I know that you studied a lot, like Jim Fortin and things.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: So, what does he say about that?
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think it all goes back to the collective, and it's said in so many different ways.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Like he might say, We, you know, you are one, and I don't know that he even talks about it much.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: My understanding is just that there is this collective consciousness.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: We are all connected, right?
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: We talk about things in our life being mirrors and synchronicities.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: Well, how does that work?
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: It's because everything is one unit and connected.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Um, and like even look at what is it, the six degrees of separation.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Do you remember when people used to be like, I can connect myself too?
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: There you go, Denise.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Keanu Reeves.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Oh no, shoot, Keanu Reeves.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: No, are you kidding me?
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: No, I love Keanu Reeves.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I know, but six degrees right now.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: No, okay, he better not.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: No, six degrees of separation.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: Do you remember what I'm talking about?
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: No, is this a movie?
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: No, this is a concept of like, oh my gosh.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: Okay, so six degrees of the remote.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: Why did you forget Keanu Reeves?
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: Because you mentioned him.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: You talked about it?
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: You did.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: No, you said Denise hear Keanu Reeves.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Because I thought you knew what the six degrees of separation is.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: So we can link you six people away to Keanu Reeves.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Oh a friend knows this person, and then there's a cousin, and then this that's why I was saying that.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: So, like we can link ourselves with anyone in the world via six people.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: How is that possible?
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: Because we're all connected, right?
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: And then sometimes, like, you and we're talking about when you meet somebody, we're not just talking about like you know, of um a love relationship, it could be anybody, like it could be meeting a friend or just random stranger, and you start talking, and then you're you start realizing that you have the the the commonalities or thing that you went through, you're like, Oh my goodness, like she or he is describing something that I went through or whatever, and that is where sometimes the connect happens, and then randomly, and there's no randomness.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel sometimes we just meet people just to show us how one and connected we are, and I remember this is how I understood it a while back, not too while back, but like maybe whatever, I don't know, a few months ago, maybe, or something, and someone was describing it as you are me in just a different avatar.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: So, like you you and me were at the same soul level, but you have this human body at this moment as Kira.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Later on, I don't know what you're gonna be, and then before I don't know what you're gonna be, and if we're gonna be connected, I have no idea, maybe you know what I mean.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: But it's just like it made me understand how we are one.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: So sometimes what I do is if someone's really bothering me, I was like, they're me, but they are different wearing a different bodysuit, that's annoying.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: So, and what are they trying to teach me from that?
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: And sometimes it's easier said than done because you don't want to get mad at people, but yeah, so this is how I understood the whole we are one because it's a difficult concept to understand, but a lot of people have said it throughout religion, so there's no way that it's not yeah, it's not real because every single religion, every single miss mystic, every single teaching spirituality talks about that.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it but we don't understand it as humans.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: No, and that I mean that is the the ego, right?
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: We're in the box, but I think also looking at it as so many people out in the world want to be right, you know what I mean?
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Like we could use politics here.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: It's no, it's right or left.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: My side is the is the correct side, your side is the wrong side.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: It's not us versus them.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: We're we all win.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Like that is the goal.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: If we continue to look at things as competition or comparing ourselves or me versus you, we're never gonna win, right?
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: But if we can view ourselves as connected and say, like we can all win, then we're gonna get so much farther in life.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: And I hope that makes some sense too.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it does.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: Next one.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: And this one's gonna resonate with many, but also hard to wrap your head around.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I am separate from what's missing in my life.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: So when I get healthy, I'll be okay.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: When I get that job, I can go buy whatever.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: When I you know what I mean?
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: Like that fulfillment exists outside of us.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: When I get this thing that has nothing to do with me, I'll be okay.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: No, it starts with you.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're okay right now.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're okay right now, and the more you move and the more that you take the steps, the more of the path gets revealed to you, and the more that the world like I think I I think I heard Kathy say it once, and I've been applying it in my life, and it's been working.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: You move, the world follows.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Don't wait for the world to move, so you follow.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: So, and that's what I've been doing in everything.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: I move, the world follows, and it's just been so rewarding, honestly.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: It is because if you wait for the world to move before you if you wait for something, you might be waiting your whole life, and then what you're gonna say, oh shoot, this lifetime is just a waste.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: And I did wait a lot of years thinking things will change, and they didn't change until I changed.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: And I took the move, yeah.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: And you know what I mean?
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Like it's just it's it's so true.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we identify with what we're missing, and sometimes we think we're missing, but we're not missing anything.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: You're not broken, you're not missing anything, you are complete and whole the way the way that you are, and the changes come from that place, it doesn't come from a place of brokenness because if it is coming from a break of place of brokenness, then we're just identifying again with being broken.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: So when's that gonna change?
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if you view yourself, yeah.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: Sorry, I was just gonna say, if you view yourself as whole, that's when real shifts can start to happen, right?
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: I'm whole now.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Do I desire this other thing?
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, but do I need that thing?
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: No.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Am I attached to that thing?
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: No.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: If I have that thing, will my life be better?
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: No.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: To be honest with you, and not even money, honestly, because a lot of people say, I need it to be happy.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: I know plenty of people with a lot of money, and that does not make them happy.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, absolutely not.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: And the thing is, or like when I get to that goal and this, or when I get to that goal, I no, because this is what happens.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: You get to the goal and you're like, uh, so what?
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: I want a different one.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Now you keep increasing, you know.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: And I made that mistake in business where I was like, oh, if I reach this goal per month, then everything will be will be great.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I reached it, and then now I nothing happened, nothing changed.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Now you're like, no, now what's my next exactly until you start saying, I don't need this, whatever comes, comes.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: So, and what helps me, I always say I'm divinely guided, but I'm divinely guided and protected, and my way is made smooth and easy.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: That which I need to know will be revealed to me, and whatever I need comes to me.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: That's from Louise A.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: That's from Louise A.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: And it's been that every time I veer off of that, I'm like, nope, whatever I need comes to me.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, whatever I need comes to me, and I don't need anything.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: I'm fine.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: I have a bed, I'm drinking coffee, I have a phone, I have a microphone, look at me.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: I'm great.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know?
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and we're not saying again, like you can't strive for things, right?
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: If you're like, oh my gosh, like I really want.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to think of an example that's like so far out there.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: I want to drive a Porsche cayenne.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: Great.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: It doesn't need to define you.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: That can be something you're working towards because that's gonna bring you joy, but you don't have to have it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely not.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: It'll be nice, nice addition.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: That'll be fun.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: I would love to drive it, but yeah, it's not missing in my life.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I'm fine with my Tesla.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, whatever it is, whatever you drive.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, whatever you have.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: Next.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, lastly.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: One, also a hard one because it's very similar to the I'm not separate from others, but I am separate from God, from source.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Insert whatever you want in there, you know, based on your beliefs.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: But I and and for you know, if we have any atheists that are that are listening, I don't know how to explain this one to you.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: So maybe it's not relevant, but I do not believe we're disconnected from something larger than ourselves.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Absolutely not.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Like I don't think I just I'm sorry, I don't think I came from an orangutan or whatever the hell they say.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: Me neither.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I mean you and I call it God, absolutely, but we have respect to everyone called universe source, whatever they call it.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: Whatever feels good to you.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: We respect it, but we're definitely not separate.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And I mean, come on, look at your life and the synchronicities and the puzzle piecing.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: And there's way, way, way bigger, bigger, more intelligent force than you that is guiding you.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: And look at your body, the way that it heals itself, the way that it functions, the way it is all the miracles in life, all the miracles, exactly.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: So, like, you know, like no, I that one I kind of like if someone says that agree to disagree type of thing, because we're not separate, and we are from the source, we are connected through the source, and we have I don't know, it's like we have everything because of that, and the more that you believe in it, the more synchronicities that it'll show you.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: You know, like it's just so awesome, especially when I go on walks, and like it's just so crazy the synchronicities that sometimes show up in your life that you're like you have a sense of humor, dude.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 100%, or years later, you're like, I remember when this horrible thing happened, but I get it now.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: I didn't like it, and I just still don't have to like it, but I understand why this happened.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: I needed to go through this.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, like 1000%.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: So, but yeah, so what we're trying to say is we have ego.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: We it's always gonna be there, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: And the ego wants control, it wants that predictability, it wants that identity, right?
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm this achiever.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: We know, let it all go.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because that's what brings suffering.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Kind of that um that saying, whatever, like we have two monsters or something, whatever it is, and whatever you feed, or something like that, it's like a native thing.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: So think about this: like, as the ego is part of you, the more you feed it, the more it controls the life that you're living at this moment, and the more that you we're not letting we're not saying starve it, but keep it at bay, the more peaceful, because you are living your life as your true self versus the illusion or the persona or the mask.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: So think of the ego as the mask that you have to put in.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Like sometimes when I walk into a really high maintenance meeting, really high profile case, I need to put on that like persona, right?
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: That like I'm here, I I mean business, I know what I'm doing to kind of like command the room, yes, but that's not something I wear all the time, right?
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: So it's important to just understand that.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: I feel and I think peel it back, right?
- 25:31SPEAKER_02: You're talking about a mask, pull off the job, pull off your health, your accomplishments, your failures, your relationships, your appearance, your cars, your house, all of your possessions, your personality, your past.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: What's left?
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: That's you.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: That's the real you.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: Everything else is the ego.
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: And I think that is what's I was just gonna say, I think that's what's so important.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Like, strip that away.
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: And anytime you start to say, like, I am successful, I'm not where I want to be, I'm unhealthy, I'm whatever.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: Then ask yourself, like, is that really who I am?
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: Or is that the ego talking?
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: Are those the stories that run through?
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm gonna add um Wayne because we are talking Wayne Dyer and we're ending this, but he's always brought on stage an orange, I guess.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: And he always says, if you yeah, I heard that about him, and he gives that analogy.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: If you squeeze an orange, what comes out?
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: Jim gives that one too.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: Yep, so I guess where you got it from.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: And that's what you want to work, not work on, look at.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: If constantly when we're squeezing you and we're triggering you, anger and and ugliness and like all of that crap is coming out, then that's what you want to look at and identify less with.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: And when we squeeze you, because we're all gonna be squeezed in life, what comes out?
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Is it like, oh shit, you know, this happened, but let me do whatever I need to fix it or accept it or find another solution.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: That is you know where the change happens, and this is where you turn the ego down and you turn the volume down, yeah, to it, and bring it up when you want to.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and come back to you who's whole.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: And maybe that's our mantra, your whole and end story.
- 27:30SPEAKER_02: Like there we go.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: I am whole.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: Let's go.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: Okay, 446, you know, the drill.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: And maybe they don't, guys.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: If you're new to the show, we always end with breath work.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: And so Denise is going to give us some breath work.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: I just want to say that because we might have new listeners.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: We might, we might.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, and then if you're listening to this, I think we're gonna we're nearing 5,000 downloads.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: So make sure, please share, please send us fan mail, we read it, we love it, we are so excited about this.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: This is our like bestie conversations that we no matter how busy she is and how busy I am, we find the freaking.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Let's go! And you know how busy we are.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: So, yeah.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Anywho, so I usually say if you're driving, do not close your eyes.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: But if you're not driving, make sure you close your eyes, one hand on your heart, the other near your belly.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: We're gonna do inhale four, hold for four, exhale for six, and the mantra is I am whole.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: So let's start with inhaling one, two, three, four, hold, two, three, four, exhale, five, four, three, two, one.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: I am whole.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Just one more round.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: Inhaling one, two, three, four, hold, two, three, four, exhale, five, four, three, two, one.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: I am whole.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: You are whole, you're beautiful the way that you are.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Go get them.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: See you on the next episode, guys.
