- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hey guys, so last week I was dying.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I was dying so hard that I started recording my podcast from my couch.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: And today I'm also recording my podcast from my couch.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Only though I will say I'm not dying this week, which is awesome.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Um doing a lot better than last week for sure.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: But I will say I am just so exhausted.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I just said all of that while it was like mid-yon.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: But like yeah, I'm just really tired.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Um I feel like lately I just have not been getting the best sleep.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: My sleep quality is just kind of ass.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: But you know, you gotta keep going.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: So it's kind of what we're doing today.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Today was actually a very, very busy day.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: It like went by so quick.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: I taught this morning and then I came home and then I started doing like a bunch of I would say a little bit more uh admin slash back end coaching kind of stuff as opposed to content and all of that.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, it just like kind of ate up my whole entire day and I didn't even realize how late it was until I checked the time and it was like almost 3 p.m.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: And I was like, wow, okay, um I forgot to have lunch, so I ended up having a late lunch today, which I don't like to have lunch at that time because at that point it's like it's almost dinner.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: So I try to have my lunch definitely around like 12 to 1.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Anyways, why am I telling you this?
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: This is like probably super boring for you.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Anyways, I just had a hectic day.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: I'm tired, didn't have the best sleep, but here we are recording the podcast.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I am doing it from my couch, just like I said, and one of my dogs is on the couch with me.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: She just loves to follow me everywhere.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Her name is Penny.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: She's she's the one that just is always glued to either me or my husband.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And then my other dog, Luna, she is just passed out in her room, and by her room I mean her crate because she loves her crate.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you have pets or if your dog is crate trained at all.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: But my dogs are crate trained, and when I tell you, Luna loves her crate, she loves it, like she looks so cozy right now.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I wish you can see her.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can probably always see her in my stories and stuff, but yeah, she is just the coziest dog right now.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Eyes closed shut.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: She's in a little donut.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Like, you know how when your dog makes their bed comfortable and then rolls into like a little donut with their nose to their ass type of shit.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's what she looks like.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: But she looks super cozy.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Anyways, today I wanted to talk about something that pissed me off on the internet.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Just I I feel like I should do this more often actually, because there's so much information out there, especially on the internet, like for example, in reels or like you know, Instagram, TikTok, whatever, there's just so much misinformation about fitness and about nutrition, and it's just ridiculous low-key.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: So this post that I'm like talking about, of course, it's a Pilates post, right?
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: It those are the ones just that always piss me off the most.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: And you know what?
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: I'm a Pilates instructor, so I can talk shit about this, okay?
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I'm a strength coach, but I'm also a Pilates instructor.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: There is this girl online who posted that these are the only five Pilates moves that you need to flatten your stomach.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna tell you right now that just by doing these five moves, you're not gonna get a flat stomach.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Like there's no fucking way.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Um so if you see shit like that on Instagram, just scroll past it because it's not it's not true.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Yes, you can do workouts to help strengthen your core for sure, but that is literally nothing without going into your nutrition, okay?
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Because I'm sure you've heard of the phrase abs are made in the kitchen, and because it's true, you need to be in a calorie deficit to be able to have a flat stomach, not do just five Pilates moves to flatten your stomach.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I do think that it's important to do some kind of strengthening, especially for your deep core, especially as women, especially like if you plan on having kids or if you've had kids, you know, like if you've been pregnant before, those types of exercises are really important, especially if you're trying to have visible abs.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: But to just say that only doing these five moves is gonna give you a flat stomach is completely false.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: What you really, really need to look at, even more important than just doing five Pilates moves to flatten your stomach, is really dial in your nutrition.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: You need to make sure that you're in a calorie deficit, that you're tracking your macros.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's not enough to just be in a calorie deficit.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: You need to be eating the right proportions of fats, carbs, and protein.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: That is always gonna be more important than just doing some kind of crunch or sit-ups or planks or whatever.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Nutrition is always, always, always gonna be the most important thing.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: And the reason I say this is because you can train literally like all the fuck that you want.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: You can train all you want, man.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: And you still won't see any results.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: You don't see results until you start taking your body, taking your oh my god, I cannot talk anymore.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: It's because I taught today.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: You don't see results until you start taking care of what's on the inside.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Because literally anyone, like anyone can make it to the gym, but not everyone can eat healthy, not everyone can track their macros, not everyone can eat whole foods, like that is the real hard part.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Going to the gym is the easy part, and I always say this to like all my clients going to the gym is the easy part.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: It might be hard at first because of whatever narrative you're feeding yourself, whether it's like physically too hard, or you just don't have enough time, or you know, you get nervous at the gym because you don't know what you're doing, like it might be hard initially because of that kind of stuff, but there is gonna be a point where you get over that hurdle, and gym is gonna be so easy.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: The real hard part is nutrition because there's so much more temptation to fuck up your nutrition than it there is to fuck up your gym schedule.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: When you hang out with your friends, for example, you're surrounded by all these delicious foods, snacks, drinks, whatever.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: It is so much harder to control yourself in that kind of situation.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: And that I mean, come on, that's like literally why you praise people that have abs because you know that people that have abs have a certain type of discipline around food.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: So the next time that you think about saving somebody's five Pilates moves to flatten your stomach workout from Instagram, know that they're lying.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And I mean I'm sure you already know that because you should know that the real that the real challenge is the food, it's not the workout.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: There is no workout on this planet that is gonna flatten your stomach for you.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: So next time you see that bullshit on the internet, remember about this podcast.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: This isn't me saying to not work out your core, by the way.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: That's not what I said.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: I just said that this post that pissed me off is not giving you the full picture.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's still important to train your core for sure.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: For many reasons, not just to have abs.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: For multiple reasons, actually.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: For your posture, for your stability, for your balance, to help you in daily life, but also to help you with your other workouts as well.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: What I'm saying is that this is this post that pissed me off today.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: It's not the full picture.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: If you actually want a flat stomach, it's not enough to just do five Pilates workouts.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Yes, you need to train your core for sure, but nutrition, that's the thing that's actually gonna show your visible abs, your flat stomach, the one, the thing you are looking for, not just five Pilates workouts.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: If having a flat stomach, having visible abs, having toned arms, sculpted legs, and a nice lifted booty is your goal as a woman, then send me a DM.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Because this is exactly what I help my clients with.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Just DM me the word toned so that I know you came from my podcast.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And we can chat.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: We can talk about what your goals are, we can chat about how I feel you should go about your training and your nutrition and see if coaching is right for you.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: As always, I hope you learned something today.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Um, thanks for hanging out with me on my couch today as well, with me and Penny.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: And I'll see you next week.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Bye.
