- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: How are you doing?
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: How are you doing?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good one.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's good.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's good.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: All things good.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: Jim owners you're allowed to make money.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get into this episode.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's interesting.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: We have conversations all the time with Jim owners.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: And one particular conversation was very interesting was one of our iron circle members, Alec Lieberman.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: And he said he was somewhere along the line
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: Jim owners who started as personal trainers, somewhere along the line, there's the starving artist mentality.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: And when we got into it, it's like, what does that even mean?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: It means that it's not cool to make money.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like you're a sellout if you charge what you're worth because your mission is to help people.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: And if you charge a lot of money and you make money, are you really helping or hurting?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like this whole weird mindset.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: And we're here to kind of attack that a little bit because I've never understood this.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: I've never understood this.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: You create like,
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if this is a good or a bad word today, but I'm a capitalist.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: If you have a product that serves the community or serves the person you're selling to, it's okay to make money.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's part of the exchange of value.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: You're offering a service.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: They're exchanging the value of money and everybody.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: the way the world goes around, isn't it?
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't that kind of how this works?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I remember one of the first coaches I had, he said, every conversation you have, a sale is made.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's an exchange of ideals, ideas.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: They're always trying to get somebody to see your point of view or get them to do something or ask that, you know, all the things.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: You kind of equate this starving artist, trainer, not wanting to make money and be profitable to the garage bands of this following.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, well, if they go big and sign with a big record label, they're a sellout.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: And like, again,
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where this comes from because I definitely isn't in mind.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's like your goal isn't isn't your goal to like make money and provide for your family and all these things.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, we have a, we have a mutual friend.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's actually speaker at the Gross Summit.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's the founder of Pushpress Dan Way Mara.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be speaking on day one, right?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's a guy that I look up to and he's a guy that shares the data.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what's really cool and kind of like one of the main reasons why I like him on the on stage is because he's going to share real world data from a data set of over five thousand, you know, accounts that he manages or uses software.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: And he put a post out yesterday and it's getting a lot of traction.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: He said, I was curious so I looked.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: not reading it but it's like in order to be that in the top ten percent of push press gyms you need to make twenty four thousand five hundred sixteen dollars whatever it's like close within twenty bucks right twenty four thousand five hundred sixteen and you know I think I said on this show probably two or three years ago if if we weren't making thirty thousand dollars we would collect like I would just close the doors it's not worth it to me
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, to be in the top ten percent, so ninety percent are lower than twenty four thousand.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm over here saying, if I don't make thirty, I'm going to close the doors.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what just what it is.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't figure out.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: Most of his gems that use push press are a CrossFit model.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know how I feel about CrossFit, you feel the same way.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's just data, right?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like, does it make any sense as a business model?
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: and we get a lot of hate for it.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: And especially in the CrossFit community, it's like this weird feeling that the CrossFit community is not willing to look outside of their four walls of their community of CrossFit.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's like their way is the only way, but they're on like literally the Titanic.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: They're sinking and they're still like marching and flying the flag that this is
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: the model.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: And just isn't, like financially, it isn't.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: Could you go help people?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: Is it fun?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: Is it cheap to operate?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: Could it be a hobby?
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: And there's great people that run gyms with CrossFit.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's totally cool.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: If that's what you're looking for, but is a profitable thriving business that makes more than twenty four thousand dollars a month.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: then it's not the way it just is it just the mass says and it's it's over and over and over again in the state of the union from the other company to this post it to everything we've ever read
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, I don't know, I'm not, I'm not a cross-fit-hater in per se, but it's just not a great business model.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's really interesting too, like there's an altruistic approach to those businesses.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would say if you have a twenty-four thousand or less jam, you probably have another source of income as the owner.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: You probably work of another job or your spouse, or yeah, exactly.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because this business, as a business, not as a hobby, not as a place of community, not as a place to, you know, get your workout in and allow other people to.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's like, it almost does.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like a hobby.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: But when you look at it as a business, is that the best use of your time energy and resources, probably not, you know, and absolutely not.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: What there's not even a problem.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: The data would tell you absolutely not right and I do go as far as the fitness business in general is not the best use of your time if you're looking for total revenue because there's so many other industries that are easier that make ten times more.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's another good point.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, at some point, even with that mentality, it's okay to find to get to a point where maybe it's the right decision for you to sell the business, or maybe it's the right decision for you to pursue something else, right?
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: You've built a skillset, you've figured out a lot of the hard stuff that it takes to run a fitness business when it comes to the client acquisition, when it comes to the systems, staff management, and all of that type of stuff.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: You go to other industries in the skill sets that you've built in fitness are like exponentially more valuable.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, all of our circle clients that have other businesses, we talk all of the time about how quote unquote easy it is over here.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: versus the fitness business with the constant fires, the low margins, the difficulty in acquiring a new client, all of those types of things.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, we sell something that is undesired product at the end of the day, right?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: We know we need health and fitness.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: People know that it's a thing.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: but it's still a conscious choice to do a little bit, you have to do more, to get the result, you have to do the work, to get the result.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: If they have discipline, you gotta get out of bed, we don't want you, you can't eat the cake, it's all of the things inclusive for health and wellness.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: You would hope, and I feel like this newest generation coming up takes it way more seriously than say, our generation or parents generation, and even the generation like millennial generation,
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: They just, they don't look at how thin fitness like Gen Z does.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: Gen Alpha, Gen, whatever the hell, everybody.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they are actually, there's their studies that show the newest generations coming up in their twenties and thirties right now are spending ten times more than say Gen X Baby Boomer when they were their age.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's just interesting.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: It makes sense.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: And you see it with, like, they've even talked about sobriety.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the same thing that the newest generations are that much more inclined to be sober as opposed to, you know, where alcohol is just a normal part of.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I saw charts on this.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it was like alcohol sales in the twenty one to thirty year olds was like a third of what all the others were.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, you know, it's probably a lot of reasons.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: One there.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: Then I was a much money to spend.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's probably some of it.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: something tells me like the the the COVID and all of the things happening and they're seeing a big form on the food industry and all the things are like they see through the lies that everybody else fell for yeah because all the truth's coming out now and so like okay yeah they don't have trust in those organizations right everything from the food pyramid you know that we were all taught was like this is the Bible for how to eat and now we're seeing like that was propaganda to get uh... you know agriculture and that industry stimulated
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay cool at the expense of look at the nation you know what I mean look at I mean I remember there's there was a again another photo or something going around online but it was like a beach in the seventies yeah everybody was a lean note you know you had a handful of people that were
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: visibly, you know, problematic overweight type of thing.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Nowadays you go to a beach and it's the majority of people.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: And we want to say people are lazy and there's some of that, but the food is manufactured differently.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: And it's killing the population.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's killing it on by design.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's what we're going down to experience.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: We're like, but like follow the money.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: If people are healthy, big farmer loses money because they're not going to be prescribing.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's just this thing.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: So like, doesn't it make sense to make people fat and unhealthy so that they're on drugs?
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: And much gripped and keep them paying you.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: So lots of things.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: But going back to this mentality of being broke as a gym owner, it's not cool.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't know where it became cool to just struggle all the time.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: And there's like this difference between the trainer that decides to not struggle and the trainer, Jim owner that is always struggling.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: And it has a lot to do with the business side.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's the lack of business acumen, but it's also the lack of looking outside of there for walls of their echo chamber echo chamber.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why getting to things like the gross summit is so important because we put all different types of people on a stage.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: The, you know, I know this isn't a picture of the gross of it, but like in the audience, we have so many different styles of gems.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's amazing.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: We have yoga, studios, we got class based stuff.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: We have big box gems.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: We have corporate gems.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: We got guys and girls coming in to have fifty locations.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: We've got the mom and pop in dependent training gyms.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: We've got everything in between and it's like cool.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: They're all here to learn global skill sets.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it's business skill sets.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's to back, you know, again, not to hard push the girl summit, but there's a reason why we've always had a very, it's all business focused, right?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the event where you're going to show up and you're going to do kettlebell swings and go get another search and go, you know, we don't push equipment and all of the different things that you see it.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: The majority of fitness conferences is about the programming and the ability to get a client result.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how about getting your business a result?
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the things that we speak to.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: And to your point, you have to get, you have to kind of take a step back and look at the people you're taking influence from, the people that you're listening to.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Are they, do they have the business that you desire to have?
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: If you're in those echo chambers, probably not.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's the key.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's the key.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: Think you just nailed it.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: Are you taking advice from the people that are at a place where you want to be?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: And if you aren't, why are you doing that?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you listening to the guy that's twenty four thousand?
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Is it because you're twenty thousand you want to get the twenty four why don't you listen to the guys doing fifty seventy ninety hundred twenty two hundred thousand dollars a month and you know in the thing is to you know maybe there's got to be some different like difference of belief or you don't know what you don't know type of thing right so maybe they look at those gyms and they say oh well they must be doing something entirely different or oh I don't know the the the square footage of their gym so they can be here town or the town all
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: Man, if I hear one more time, like I could never do that because of where I'm located, there are so many advantages of being in a B or a C market when it comes to acquiring clients.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, back to when we were in agency, even working with our partners at our agencies nowadays, I would much rather run ads in any one of those locations because they're cost-prequisitions drastically lower.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, maybe the average income of the population doesn't match what we have here.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: But that doesn't mean that within twenty dollars a week or something like that, you can't mimic and mirror the same business model that we do here.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what we teach, right?
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's the success of our coaching program is the systems that run the business, and then the people in the business run those systems.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: That stuff carries over.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care what corner of the this country or the world.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: We've got international clients that do the same exact thing that we do here.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it just scaled to meet some of those little unique differences between looking.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, it was a little eye-opening to see that pose from Dan.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, you know, he's not sugar coating it.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he said he didn't really made a comment on whether or not that was good or bad.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: But he, he also said,
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: poster gym here and we will look you up and tell you where you rank okay because he was looking at the rankings sure and ever five thousand gems so so he was asking the audience tell me your gym name and I will give you your rank and he said today it's part of the second part of that post he's like
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: Only people that asked me what their rank were were in the top twenty percent would believe that and he goes is that because the best Jim owners want to know their data is it because the best Jim owners are competitive and so like knowing their rank would help them like understand hey I got to do better
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was the bottom, fifty percent never even raised their hand.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: That probably not a single one of them.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not because, and he wasn't saying like, hey, you didn't ask because you know you're not in the top.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: But like, even if you're in the bottom, wouldn't you want to know like, hey, you know what?
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm, I'm ranked twenty two hundred.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I guess it worked.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: How do I get it up to the top fifty or top a hundred, right?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I get it.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: But to the point of the episode, it doesn't go back to does that gym owner desire.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: to have thirty thousand a month and recurring or does I don't know the answer and you would hope like I'm in a business you're a gym owner being mediocre or average or below average should not be satisfying because you
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, in order to open a business, you've got to be all in.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you can't just limp into it.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I'm gonna do that out in the weekends.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is your life.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: You're all in.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: How can you not want to win?
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: don't you want to win guys like don't you want to win like isn't this a competition at some level against yourself in turn against last year's numbers against the guy across the street against the nation against the push press rankings against crossfit against any other model like isn't this a something you want to win this is a competition
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Where is your mindset?
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: Where is your aggressive nature to go all in, push the fricking envelope?
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: We have a saying in the iron circle.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: It says, K E A, kill them all.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: Kill them all because sometimes you guys are just
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like you're just half-ass in it.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like you're just making it in it.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever it is, like I'm very accustomed here.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: But like you're just not aggressive enough.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: You're playing small.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: You're playing timid.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going for the big numbers.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: You're okay being an average and everything this world is to keep you there in the middle.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: Soon as he get outside of your comfort zone, you start creeping up, that thermostat kicks on and you're going to find ways to be like, oh, I don't really, I don't really want fifteen more clients because that's going to require more work.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: I had a good friend who was a chiropractor and I was getting adjusted one time and I was looking at his operation and as you as you do as I do, I'm looking at everything like working this guy maxed his potential.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I was telling them about these marketing plays that I was doing.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: This was in the early Facebook days and running automation and all the stuff that we still do today.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: And my dude, like if you just do these things, like your business can grow and can be great.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: You may say he says, Tim, I'm comfortable.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to grow.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I can't help you then like who does this and just is it's just comfortable in the middle now.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: I could see that of a guy doing this for fifty years and doesn't want to work harder like he's kind of on the downhill.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: So this is a young dude.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: This was like early thirties.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's like thirty three years old like what do you but you know what that the commonality there is he's probably also the owner operator right.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: He is just doing the adjustment.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: So he you know the
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: the transition to like to fitness business if you're still on the floor and you have that feeling that mentality makes a lot of sense but if you don't ever step in or step out and have somebody else in fulfillment and start training other people to do the job you're always going to be in that position and then I mean I can understand it I don't agree with it but I can understand that mentality if you were in fulfillment and you
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: found yourself at kind of a level of comfort, right?
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but to me that's like at that point, just have a job.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it'll work for somebody else.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: Have a job or what, like find a way to round that.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like for higher people to like, I don't know.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you know, you were talking about the competition component.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think with CrossFit, that's one of the most ironic
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: aspects of it all, right?
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about a fitness model that is literally designed around the games and competition.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: And yet the owners and the business side of it aren't looking at the same.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: They don't treat it the same way that they do the work out itself.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's very interesting.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's all about times.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Everything's a competition in the service that you're providing, but yet you don't look at your business the same way.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's very strange here.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's not just look guys.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's just an eye opener.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: It was, you know, just it's unfortunate.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: There's so many really good people just not making great money.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: And you're going to maybe, maybe you can do it for a year, two or three, but like this ten years, fifteen years, if you're still like, kind of, where you're at now, like, is that, is it worth it?
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: You're probably going to regret you didn't do something sooner or just change industry.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, look,
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: This business is hard.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: This fitness industry is hard for so many reasons that we've talked about.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like you got to work like five to ten times harder than any other industry, just to just to make it, just to grow, just to stay on top.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like you have to work way harder.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Get to risk more, get to spend more, get to learn more, get to do more.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: And if that ain't for you, get out now.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: You'll save yourself a decade of like frustration to get out now.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and if you're not building those skillsets, right?
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, probably one of the first one liners that, you know, the way he ever brought to the show was growth or decay.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: There is no maintenance, right?
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not progressively growing your business,
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: The environment is shrinking your business around you.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the cost of doing business gets higher every year.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: The competition, you know, when it comes to acquiring clients is getting greater.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: All of the things will bring you your business down if you're not actively growing at every, you know, corner every turn.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be consistently looking to progress.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just say you hit that level of comfort.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how many clients can you afford to lose before you're no longer there?
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: Or let's say you keep it the same.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: And next year, you know, the economy is just as hard as it has been and everything's continuing to go up that you are buying.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, you're taking that that hitting your business, right?
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Your expenses are growing.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're income's not growing.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to find yourself in a worse off position if you're not actively and intentionally growing.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: Always.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Always.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: Take it as a way either wake up call, get your ass together, or maybe you're cool where you're at.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just bringing it up.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't get your mentality if you're cool where you're at.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm always looking for growth.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: Our damn business is about growth.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Everything's growth.
