- 0:00Hey, hey, Soul tribe. Welcome to Peace and the Pod.
- 0:05I'm Loretta. Thank you all for tuning in
- 0:07today. You know, I was thinking about
- 0:12in spring, mostly April, how April's like the rainy month,
- 0:18you know, April, what is that? April showers, May flowers.
- 0:22And here it's been windy and one day I was sitting in the living
- 0:31room looking out the window and I noticed some birds struggling
- 0:35in the wind and 1 bird was flying One Direction and wind
- 0:41was hitting him so hard he just turned around and just went
- 0:43where the wind was taking him. He just like changed his
- 0:46direction completely. Hopefully it did eventually get
- 0:50to where it was trying to go, but it made me think about how
- 0:54life sometimes, you know, we get rejected or refused in certain
- 1:02situations, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.
- 1:10Sometimes that that rejection, that refusal is the redirection
- 1:16that we need to in order for us to get on the track that we need
- 1:20to be on and not everything. It doesn't mean that everything
- 1:27that we consider is bad and falling apart.
- 1:33It's not necessarily a bad thing when you think about like a bad
- 1:41relationship and how things may not be the happiest, the best in
- 1:47that relationship. OK, so I'll share a story of
- 1:54years ago. And I'm talking like when I was
- 1:58in my early, like just turning 20, early 20s, I was in this
- 2:07relationship that to me, it felt like love.
- 2:14I didn't really know what love was but to me it felt like that
- 2:21like love. I'm I I loved him but I found
- 2:27out that what I understand is love is not what he understood
- 2:33was love and it was a long term relationship.
- 2:38It actually was like a total of like 7 years that I was in the
- 2:42relationship. But the crazy thing is I was so
- 2:47like young and and not in the same headspace that I have now
- 2:55that I didn't really understand what was all happening.
- 2:59And this guy, he cheated on me pretty much the entire
- 3:05relationship. Maybe you could say a total of
- 3:08like a year of the seven years. He probably did not cheat, but
- 3:14he was just a serial cheater. And I didn't, I didn't, I never
- 3:21left the relationship. I mean, he did like some shitty
- 3:26things. And I'm, I'm laughing about it
- 3:29now because it helped me grow as a person.
- 3:33It helped me understand who I am.
- 3:35It helped me find my voice. It helped me understand how I
- 3:40should and should not be treated in a relationship.
- 3:43It helped me learn a lot about myself and about love.
- 3:48And I wouldn't know what a good relationship is if I wouldn't
- 3:56have experienced a terrible relationship.
- 4:00So it's like I, I feel like I, I experienced what I did because
- 4:04I, in order for me to understand what true Love Actually feels
- 4:08like, I had to, like, I don't want to say I had to, but I
- 4:13experienced like the worst of the worst.
- 4:17And I mean, there were things that I knew of, but I didn't
- 4:24actually like see in the relationship.
- 4:26But it got to a point where I actually saw something that was
- 4:30like right in my face type of this person is cheating on you.
- 4:34And when that happened, that's when I kind of started speaking
- 4:43up more for myself. I should have just completely
- 4:48like left the relationship, never returned.
- 4:50The relationship ended, but he eventually came back and start,
- 4:56you know, wooing me over. And I did go back to the
- 5:01relationship like a freaking fool, but I did.
- 5:05And then we continued like a few more years before it just got to
- 5:10the point where it was just it it the guy tried to basically
- 5:21take my life is the only way to explain it.
- 5:23And that's how the relationship ended.
- 5:26But I did have a huge revelation the day that that relationship
- 5:37ended. And I remember the situation
- 5:42very vividly, like it was yesterday.
- 5:46But I do remember as it was happening, me praying to God to
- 5:50please save me. And when I did, the situation
- 5:55just basically within like seconds ended and then I was
- 6:01still here. So that for me was a moment
- 6:06where I knew that God was real for one.
- 6:12And when you believe and have that faith that you can be
- 6:19saved, you will be saved. But after that relationship, I
- 6:26took some time out for myself. I wanted to just be alone.
- 6:31I sat in my apartment with myself, with my thoughts,
- 6:37learning and exploring who Loretta is.
- 6:42And when I did all of that, after a while, you know, some
- 6:47people can't be by themselves for too long.
- 6:49They feel lonely and bored and, you know, isolated.
- 6:53I started just kind of tapping into myself, like really trying
- 7:00to discover who Loretta is, what does she like to do?
- 7:04What are things that bring joy into my life.
- 7:07And once I was able to just sit with myself and my thoughts and
- 7:10my feelings, I started enjoying the me time and it was just nice
- 7:19being able to like rediscover myself and I truly enjoy my time
- 7:31just with me. I, I love just hanging out with
- 7:34myself. I like to sit with my thoughts
- 7:37and just, I don't know, I get a lot of my great, I won't say
- 7:42great ideas, but a lot of my creativity juices start flowing
- 7:46when I'm sitting by myself. I can, I can hear things that I
- 7:52can't necessarily hear when I'm surrounded by people and I enjoy
- 7:59hanging out with my friends and all, but I truly enjoy spending
- 8:03time with myself and just me and my thoughts and my, you know,
- 8:09emotions and I love it. But anyways, after that, that
- 8:16relationship ended it, it started like helping me
- 8:20understand a little bit more of myself and it helped me
- 8:25definitely understand more about love.
- 8:29But I understood that sometimes those collapse that happen in
- 8:38our lives, they're not there to just like tear everything down.
- 8:46Sometimes it's the rescue. It's a rescue for us, but we
- 8:52just don't necessarily see it because when that that
- 8:57relationship ended the way that it did, I remember a few weeks
- 9:05prior to that happening, me praying to God, asking him to
- 9:10help me get out of that relationship because I didn't
- 9:14know how to get out of it. And I didn't honestly, I felt
- 9:21trapped. I knew I couldn't stay in the
- 9:24relationship any longer because there was there were things that
- 9:28I found out around that time and I just didn't know how to, how
- 9:43to leave the relationship. So it was, I don't know, it was
- 9:47just, it was, it was a tough situation.
- 9:49I didn't really know how to, to exit the relationship.
- 9:52So I asked God to help me and he did.
- 9:55He definitely did because I needed a way for myself to get
- 10:00out of the relationship, but to also never go back because I
- 10:07knew that there was like this cycle that I needed to break.
- 10:10And like he would, you know, we'd break up and he'd come
- 10:14trying to woo me back and, and it would work 'cause he was a
- 10:17very charming individual. But I knew that I didn't deserve
- 10:21that kind of treatment. I knew that there were people
- 10:23out there who would genuinely love me and care for me and not
- 10:27want to hurt me, but yet I loved that individual.
- 10:32So I kept going back, kept going back.
- 10:34And I knew it was not good for me, but I just didn't know how
- 10:37to get out of it. So I asked God and God worked it
- 10:40out to where I would literally never go back to that
- 10:42relationship. So I know prayer works.
- 10:46I know believing and having faith works.
- 10:52I know that miracles are, are a thing because I've experienced
- 10:57quite a few myself. But that relationship was one of
- 11:00the things where I just didn't understand, like the rejection
- 11:05that I kept getting from that individual and not understanding
- 11:09that that was the redirection. There were things that I, I had
- 11:12already taken from that relationship that I've already,
- 11:17you know, whatever life lessons I needed, I, I've gathered, but
- 11:22I didn't know how to like leave in the few moments where things
- 11:27would happen and it was my exit. I kept coming back and I was
- 11:32holding myself back. So sometimes we face some very
- 11:37hurtful and difficult people or situations and it's not until we
- 11:41see things right, you know, before our eyes that we really
- 11:46understand that we need to let that person go that place or
- 11:51that thing go. I mean, it could be hard when
- 11:57you feel so attached, you know, or, or you love something so
- 12:01deeply that it's time to let it go because you've invested so
- 12:08much into the person or to the, to the place or whatever it is.
- 12:14And you, you're just not ready to release that because you
- 12:16don't feel like you've gotten anything out of it as far as
- 12:21what you've invested into it. So sometimes I think, I do think
- 12:25that we misinterpret the rejection and not fully
- 12:32understand that it's the redirection trying to happen to
- 12:35get us to where we're supposed to go.
- 12:38And we we cling on to things that that we're trying to be
- 12:41redirected from through the rejection.
- 12:47And we kind of hold ourselves in this place.
- 12:52And some situations there will be friction and conflict, but
- 12:59that is to help us get redirected to where we're trying
- 13:05to go. That conflict, that friction is
- 13:10there to force us to make a move.
- 13:14So you have to end the relationship, leave the job,
- 13:17move out of the place you're in to somewhere else.
- 13:22It's all part of the redirection process.
- 13:28Without the conflict or the friction, you would just stay in
- 13:33the same spot. You would settle and that's what
- 13:36I was doing in that, that bad relationship.
- 13:39I didn't know how to get out of it.
- 13:41And I just kind of like, well, I'm in the, I'm already in too
- 13:44deep, so I might as well just ride this thing out.
- 13:47And I didn't, I didn't know how to get out.
- 13:51So I, I asked for help. I asked for divine, I asked for
- 13:56the big help and I got exactly what I asked for.
- 14:00But that rejection that you feel from those situations or from
- 14:05those people or things, it is pushing you into something new.
- 14:13And we have to not fight the force that is trying to redirect
- 14:18us. And sometimes we have to
- 14:22experience things like see it with our own eyes to like,
- 14:28finally understand that is not what you need in your life.
- 14:31That is not what you need. And I'm trying to help you.
- 14:35So you have to see some hurtful experience, some hurtful
- 14:38situations and, and people and things because we're refusing to
- 14:45allow the universe to redirect us.
- 14:47So we have to be placed in situations to where we're forced
- 14:51to make a move and in, in, in the only way that it can happen
- 14:57is to, to, to get it to that level to where we are just fed
- 15:01up. Enough is enough.
- 15:03And sometimes that's what it takes because we all have free
- 15:06will and we keep choosing the, the choices that we make.
- 15:11They're all our, our free will of what we think we want and
- 15:16what we think we need. But we were asking for like true
- 15:20love or we're asking for like, you know, soulmate type of love.
- 15:25And yet we're clinging to this bad relationship getting drugged
- 15:31through the mud. But yet we don't we don't want
- 15:35to let it go. So when we experience these
- 15:39types of rejections, we just have to understand that that is
- 15:44the universe trying to redirect us to the things that we're
- 15:47we're saying that we want in our life.
- 15:49If we're experiencing a job where things are just toxic in
- 15:53the, in the work environment or, or chaos, just pure chaos.
- 15:57And you just like I can't work under these conditions.
- 16:00I feel like for me, I was placed in a situation with my job where
- 16:08it was so bad, the toxic environment was just so bad that
- 16:14I I had to make a decision on what it was I was going to do
- 16:18because I couldn't live that way forever in that previous job.
- 16:23And it was just like, I know I can do the work, but I can't do
- 16:29the work in this environment. And I felt like the environment
- 16:31got worse and worse because I was not meant to stay there.
- 16:35That is not God's long term plan for me.
- 16:40It was my long term plan. But that's not what I was placed
- 16:43on this earth to do. And I eventually just understood
- 16:51that, threw my hands up and said, OK, where do where do you
- 16:55want me to go? Which direction do I need to go
- 16:57in? And I do feel that a lot of
- 17:07things that happen, I don't want to say to us, but I feel like
- 17:14they happen for us because we can pray and wish for a certain
- 17:21type of lifestyle, a certain type of environment.
- 17:25And when things start happening in our current environment, we
- 17:32get scared and we try to cling on to the things that the
- 17:37universe is trying to remove or direct redirect us from.
- 17:42And we're asking for stuff, but we're like not allowing things
- 17:46to shift in order for us to get to the things that we're asking
- 17:49for. And we can be our own
- 17:54distraction, our own obstacle for our future.
- 17:59But I do know that when things are are not going our way or not
- 18:05going the way that, you know, we wish that they would, it's it's
- 18:10not necessarily a bad thing. Some things are not meant for
- 18:14you. Some people are not meant for
- 18:17you. Some people we experience for
- 18:20the simple fact that there's certain lessons and and not, I
- 18:25don't even want to say lessons because it's not.
- 18:27Every person we experience is not because of a lesson.
- 18:30Sometimes we need to use better discernment.
- 18:36We need to not trust everybody that we are around, or sometimes
- 18:44we need to not be so judgmental. We need to don't judge a book by
- 18:51its cover. There are certain things in life
- 18:54that happen, but they happen for reasons that we may not see on
- 19:02the surface. There are parts of us that need
- 19:05to be developed, or there are parts of us that have been
- 19:08suppressed that need to be brought to the light.
- 19:11There are things in us that we need to feel or experience or
- 19:17express and certain people and environments are brought into
- 19:26our, our, our bubble because we we need to allow those things
- 19:33to, to come up. We need to, to experience it.
- 19:37We need to feel it. We need to go through it because
- 19:40there is something in that person or situation that we need
- 19:47in order to grow and evolve as ourselves, as a better version
- 19:52of ourselves. I guess that's the that's the
- 19:57best way I can explain it. So I just don't think that when
- 20:02things don't go my way, that is it's not a bad thing.
- 20:09It's just trying to get me to a, to the place that I see myself
- 20:12in the future. And I have to not fight that.
- 20:16Redirection, but allow it to align me to where it is that I,
- 20:25I need to be in order to get to the type of life and environment
- 20:33and people and places and, and things that I'm trying to get
- 20:38to. So just remember, not everything
- 20:43that is falling apart or what seems like is falling apart in
- 20:46your life. Not all of that is a bad thing.
- 20:50Sometimes the collapse is a rescue.
- 20:53Sometimes the loss is the shift, the rejection that you feel from
- 21:02whatever situation that you may be going through.
- 21:06It is simply pushing you into something new.
- 21:14Rejection is simply redirection. So allow the universe to work
- 21:23its magic, do its thing, and help you align to the things
- 21:28that you want in life. Help you align to the dream job
- 21:32that you want. Help you align to the
- 21:34relationship that you want. Help you align to the the dream
- 21:38home that you want. Allow the universe to do its
- 21:43thing. Rejection is simply redirection.
