- 0:57Speaker 2: Today, denise and I are chatting about the power of words, and we were just laughing beforehand because, denise, share with me what you said we are going to share.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But I said the words are so powerful because the whole humanity started with one word, right in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God.
- 1:17Speaker 1: That's it, mic drop.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, we can just end the podcast episode there.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I mean just by us saying and the word was God.
- 1:26Speaker 1: It's like that's it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You know that your words are so powerful and that you know they can build or they can destroy.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I mean, we've seen humanities and we've seen history.
- 1:36Speaker 1: We've seen cultures being destroyed and being built by words.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Right, yeah, well, and that's the thing.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Everything I mean we know everything is energy, right, but that includes our thoughts and our words, and like we can look at how we speak to one another, we can look at how we speak to others, to animals, to things, I mean.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Even so, denise and I went to a seminar and one of the things they showed was just frequency like music, but I'm not talking even music with words, so maybe this is irrelevant, but I don't think so of just how much like water can change and we know we've seen studies like people talking to plants and how it changes things.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Like I can start telling my plants that they're beautiful every day and we're going to notice the difference versus you guys, suck, you never grow, like why aren't you doing what you're supposed to do or whatever you would tell a plant?
- 2:30Speaker 1: But also, it is the unsaid words that come with that energy, right.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So, like I mean, we're constantly I don't know, I don't even know how many thoughts we have in a day those are words, right.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So so, basically, sometimes, oh, even if you're not telling the plant I love you, I hate you but if that energy that you're bringing in with those with those unsaid words in your mind like what the heck, I'm gonna freaking water this plant, I hate these, but but you're trying to like say no, the energy comes with the words as well.
- 2:58Speaker 1: They're unsaid.
- 2:58Speaker 1: So I think this episode is not just about, like, the superficial words you can also say, you can also think about it regarding the, the unsaid words, the things that are constantly happening in our mind that actually carry the energy as well.
- 3:13Speaker 2: That's a good point because, yeah, so funny story.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Maybe not, but it's funny to me.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I can't keep a plant alive.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So if we're on the subject of plants, like I tried growing a garden granted, it was in Las Vegas, but there were plenty of people around me Okay, that's not your fault, no, but like, okay, nashville too.
- 3:31Speaker 2: So let's be honest, like I've I've tried everywhere, but in Vegas I got a tower garden Cause everyone's like no, it'll grow, it's hydroponics, always getting the water.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And I had so many people around me that were just growing these amazing like things and eating off of it, and I'm like the only thing I can grow is chard, it's like a weed, but everything else just dies.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Like I'm spending all this money.
- 3:52Speaker 2: But I will be honest, it's because of my history with them that the thoughts that were in my head, even if I wasn't verbalizing it, the thoughts were always I suck at gardening, I can't, and what did you just start with?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Right now, I can't verbalizing it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: The thoughts were always I suck at gardening, I can't.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And what did you just start with?
- 4:06Speaker 1: Right now, I can't grow anything.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I suck at gardening.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So what are you doing?
- 4:08Speaker 1: Your words are continuing that manifestation because it's also coming with the energy and and we also know that everything is, you know, it has energy, like you said.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So everything is going to get affected with by our words and by our unsaid words, going to get affected with by our words and by our unsaid words.
- 4:29Speaker 1: That the basically the thoughts I feel, and I mean let's kind of go back to really how much that like if you really let this sink in in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.
- 4:37Speaker 1: That's John 1 1.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And the thing is like we know that, yes, human beings are created with the word, one word, and we got manifested.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So I mean just literally, it's just so powerful and we can also build ourselves up, build ourselves down people around us.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's just so powerful Our words influence everything.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And that's the thing is like we can say things to other.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I always hated this phrase and I think I understand why now.
- 5:11Speaker 2: But sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me, and I would say that as a kid.
- 5:16Speaker 2: But I never believed it when people were mean.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And now I get it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It's like no, the word is actually more hurtful and more painful and more lasting than sticks and stones.
- 5:26Speaker 2: A broken bone is going to reheal itself, but those words carrying the energy.
- 5:32Speaker 1: They can stay forever, depending on what is embedded into your subconscious exactly until you actually physically start changing them, like you and I are doing the work.
- 5:42Speaker 1: But also, I don't know if you remember I really don't exactly remember the statistics, but and maybe when we were in SAFM together, someone was saying something like like you know, once they get a cancer diagnosis, they hear those words even though, like, let's say, they'll be living with it for a while without knowing.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And then they get diagnosis and then boom downhill right right away.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So it's the power of this, like cancer diagnosis, like you've got cancer, you only have six months to live, it's like what?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Who are you to tell me I only have six months to live, right?
- 6:14Speaker 1: And this how it affects a lot of people and you know, kind of help them manifest that six months or less.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Well, and that's the problem is, people don't recognize the power of words from others.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But you get to choose.
- 6:27Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Everything in life is choice.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Someone can tell you something and in that moment you can say I choose to believe this.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Like you mentioned and I remember this there's been multiple studies of like someone can tell me I have cancer in six months to live and I can choose to believe those words and I'm going to pass in six months because I chose to believe them versus someone.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And we did see studies of this of like uh, nope, don't accept that, I want to see my grandbabies being born.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So you choose.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But that is the power behind those words you know, yes, yes, and I I told you about this example and I don't know how much it relates, but it just came to me and I was like you know what, when it comes to me, I gotta say I told you, I said it to you.
- 7:11Speaker 1: In arizona I was watching.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Uh, it was, we watch crime shows all the time and this crime has been from a long time ago, so I guess there was a serial rapist or serial killer attacking woman.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I don't remember the state or whatever and he had like a real one, or like just a no, no, a real no, no, okay, okay I think the show was I survived the serial killer or something like that, whatever.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Um, and that person was killing people, raping them and killing them, etc.
- 7:38Speaker 1: And this one woman was like not like, she wasn't young, she was probably in her 50s or 60s and he came in to, like you know, attack her, and she looked at him and she told him not today, I'm not dying today.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So she made that choice and and he let her go like she did not die that day, and then he went on to killing somebody else.
- 7:57Speaker 1: But she made that conviction.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It's like no, no, thank you, someone else, you chose the wrong person, yeah, yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So we see how the word probably also carried with the energy.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You know I mean, I was not in her shoes but also another powerful way, how much the words with the intention and the conviction and the determination.
- 8:17Speaker 1: It's like it's not my time, dude, get the heck away from me.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to share another story.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I don't remember if you heard this one.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Where the heck we heard it?
- 8:27Speaker 2: We had too many stories, guys, um, but this one was a really powerful one that kind of cemented it in for me, about the health again.
- 8:33Speaker 2: But someone was told same thing Like you have this many months to live.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Well, and I have two stories around this, so I'll I'll choose one of them.
- 8:42Speaker 2: But basically he knew he had X amount of days to live because of some type of diagnosis.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Right and the he did.
- 8:51Speaker 2: He passed away right after that timeframe.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Well, when they did the autopsy, they discovered he didn't even have the cancer, whatever it is that they thought it was.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And it was the word he heard you're going to die in X amount of days.
- 9:07Speaker 2: And so that was his belief and we.
- 9:10Speaker 2: You know it's crazy.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure the stories and even you know people listening right now like they probably have their own stories, but how many people you know did not get to that potential or did not achieve their dreams or are not achieving them because all they heard was nothing's gonna come out of you you know what I mean?
- 9:28Speaker 1: Like you're gonna amount to nothing, you know?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Blah, blah, blah, and they just continue manifesting it until they actually make the con, the conscious decision, the conscious choice.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So you know, like I mean, we've heard several stories and we can stay here forever talking about stories, but I need to go back to, um, oh, my goodness, the author of the four agreements.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Goodness don mcgillis goodness, gracious, um, and I love the four agreements.
- 9:58Speaker 1: If you have not read it, definitely read it.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And they're so simple.
- 10:03Speaker 1: The four agreements are so simple, yet we make them so complicated.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Actually, um, and he says in his book, every time we speak, we're casting a spell.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So, just kind of like, imagine that what your word that as a wand.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So you either cast a white spell, goodness, or a magic spell, and you're not just casting it on others, you're also casting it on yourself.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So do you want to and that's where you also need to start reflecting do I want my words to poison me and others, or do I want my words to uplift me and others?
- 10:37Speaker 1: And I'm not saying like walking around with like positivity and fake positivity all the time.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We know that's not real right.
- 10:48Speaker 1: However, also remembering that you can have a neutral thought instead of a destructive, negative thought that's going to continue the spiral, right, and just like you said, kira, and we keep saying, it's a choice, it's a choice, it's always a choice.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, and that's the thing is.
- 11:01Speaker 2: As you're going on your healing journey, you have to recognize when the thought creeps in and you can choose to change it, or when you vocalize something and say so.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Another example a lot of my clients come to me and say, well, I have IBS, I have fibromyalgia, I have this, or I'm dealing with this and I'm like, let's change that, because now you are identifying with that disease.
- 11:22Speaker 2: That's not you.
- 11:23Speaker 2: You'm dealing with this and I'm like let's change that, because now you are identifying with that disease.
- 11:24Speaker 2: That's not you.
- 11:25Speaker 2: You are dealing with symptoms up.
- 11:27Speaker 2: So sometimes little tweaks in your words and catching yourself is like, oh, wait, a minute, I'm going to change that.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Because the more you say like I'm always sick, I always feel bad, I'm just on and on, it goes yeah, you're going to continue that cycle.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yes, because you are identifying with it when you're saying I am, I am, I am.
- 11:48Speaker 1: You know, like you know, I am sick.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I am a spender.
- 11:52Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be around sickness, it can be around anything.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I am a shopaholic, I'm a spender, I am a blah blah, blah, blah blah.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I'm a mom.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I'm a procrastinator, I'm a procrastinator.
- 12:01Speaker 1: That's the thing You're continuing to glue and to solidify these beliefs by continuing to identify with them as I am.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And then I think we need to kind of discuss this in another episode.
- 12:12Speaker 1: But we can also go back to Wayne Dyer with the whole I am, that I am right.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I mean we probably need to talk about that one day.
- 12:20Speaker 1: But you know, the I am is very powerful because you know according to, you know spirituality and you know Wayne Dyer I'm sure other people have talked about it too.
- 12:29Speaker 1: You know the I am is God's name and you know.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So it's really important to.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's really important to let go of these identifications and these labels that we continue to like.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Unless it serves you right, I am a good person.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I'll take that.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yes, yes, exactly, exactly, yeah, yeah, but yeah, if it's not serving you.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Like I said, I'm a procrastinator.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I suck at plants, at plants.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I'm not a good cook.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I say that to myself all the time.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm not a good cook.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yes, I always, you know, kind of like giving my power away to like, oh, I don't, and even though when I put my mind to it I am, I'm cooking, it's not like you know, or, or I'm stubborn, or I'm this, or even when yeah, yeah, and I, yeah, and.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And that's the thing is, you're not going to go from A to Z.
- 13:21Speaker 2: You're not going to go from saying I'm a, I'm a, I suck at cooking to I'm the best chef in the world, like that's a little unrealistic, but it could be a subtle shift of like I am becoming a better cook, or I enjoy cooking more, or whatever it might be.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Like you again goes back to choice.
- 13:40Speaker 2: You get to choose, but if what you're constantly telling yourself, like verbally or just inside, isn't what's serving you, then change it, and the same goes for others.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Look at the words that you use towards other people and Denise mentioned it but childhood, let's talk on that for a minute because the first seven years of our lives are the most detrimental, in the sense that we absorb everything, and so that has been something that I had been consciously working on, because my kiddo is nine now and I would watch every word.
- 14:16Speaker 2: you know things like I heard growing up of money doesn't grow on trees and you have champagne taste on a beer budget and you have to go to college to make something of yourself, Like all of these beliefs that I heard that weren't bad.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Right, I'm not.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I'm not saying my parents did anything wrong, but it's like I absorbed those and those became my beliefs until I started to ship.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And so if you're a parent, watch those words.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Yes, yes, especially, like you said, from birth to seven, because this is basically all of the beliefs that are being embedded in their subconscious and this is what it will be in their lives in teenage years, young adulthood and just throughout adulthood, until they change it.
- 15:00Speaker 1: So and I I wrote it down while you were talking you know, sometimes, yes, it's difficult to be like, well, I'm a good cook, even though you're like, I know that that tastes good.
- 15:11Speaker 1: It's always, you know, you can always say I am willing to learn or I am willing to enjoy cooking.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Right?
- 15:20Speaker 1: So if something that's like you know, like, oh goodness, I don't want to do that, or whatever, so, instead of saying I wanted to, I am willing to.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I am willing to see this differently, and that is also the power of how you put words together in order to, you know, change things around you, right, because sometimes, yes, changing the.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I am like if you always say around you, right, because sometimes, yes, changing the I am like if you always say I am this, I am this, I am this, I have.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I am willing to see the fibromyalgia differently, I'm willing to see this diagnosis differently, I'm willing to see this argument differently, etc.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'm willing to change whatever you know, just kind of like to, because it's at the end of the day, everything's about free will, it's all about choices free will, equal choices.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So, and sometimes I know we're dealing with hard shit.
- 16:05Speaker 1: So instead of just saying I am almighty, I am willing to change um, you guys know we're off script, right?
- 16:15Speaker 2: we don't, we don't have a very we.
- 16:18Speaker 2: We just don't have a script, we just wing it um which we want it to be authentic.
- 16:22Speaker 2: But I just thought of this question.
- 16:23Speaker 2: So, denise, I'm putting you on the spot.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Can you think of a time in your childhood where something was said to you that has presented in your adult life?
- 16:35Speaker 1: yes, you are better than other people and have told you that all the time.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Because I grew up, I'm the, I'm the oldest and I was the first on my mom's side, I was the first grandchild and the first uh.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So all of my uncles and aunts were young and I was the baby and, um, it was always, you know, like you're cuter than this, you're better than that, you're better than any everybody else.
- 17:00Speaker 1: So my ego, since I was a child, was so big so I carried on with my life that I know more than you, I'm better than you, and that's not true, because we all have our talents and strengths and etc.
- 17:10Speaker 1: So I'm not better than anybody.
- 17:12Speaker 1: But, yeah, that really, um, and maybe then some people can view that, view it as a positive, but I don't think so, because when you're an adult and you're believing that your shit does not stink, that's not bueno, right.
- 17:26Speaker 1: So I had to come to the realization like, no, I'm not better than anybody.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I am who I am and and I carried, I made a lot of choices just to prove that, yes, I am better.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So, yes, I did develop a competitive side and that kind of drew a little you know drift between my sister and I, right Cause I always believed that I am smarter than her, I'm this and that.
- 17:49Speaker 1: So even until I actually, you know, changed it and worked on it, I am not better than everybody around me.
- 17:58Speaker 2: That's such a funny one to hear too.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Like most people grow up thinking they're not good enough.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'm overly, and that's the thing.
- 18:06Speaker 1: The overly is not.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah either.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Right, because that your child and your ego's that big.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I mean, I'm seven years old, walking with the biggest ego.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You can only imagine how big it's getting when I'm in my 20s, 30s and until I started changing in my 40s.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Right, yeah, if you're listening and you're still in your 20s, you still have hope.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the shit starts happening in the 40s Seriously, and that's the thing for listeners right now.
- 18:40Speaker 2: The thing for listeners right now.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I would encourage you to look at some of the stories that you heard and the things that your parents told you, your teachers told you, your peers told you in your childhood and how that's shown up today.
- 18:52Speaker 2: So like I'm not going to dig into all these and I'm sure there's a shit ton but like the money one and Denise and I have chatted about this for me, but I basically grew up thinking that there's always enough, but like to be wealthy is to be greedy, and so that is continued to show up in my life.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Or I said and non-said, there was a lot that wasn't spoken about this but you go to college, you work really hard at hustle and grind and that's what makes you a good person, and I don't know how many people listening know me personally.
- 19:26Speaker 2: But guys, I will tell you every course, certification, training I have four degrees, I do.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Can I raise my hand?
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't say that to brag, because it was a belief.
- 19:36Speaker 2: It was a belief that I was not good enough unless I did all of those things, and that has been something I've had to work on.
- 19:42Speaker 2: So I would say, look at all the stories, look at all the things you were told as a child and see how that shows up in your adult years and if you need to shift that, because again you get to choose if that belief is serving you or not and if those words were positively or negatively impacting you.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know us that we always love to give tips and strategies and tools.
- 20:06Speaker 1: However, the tool right now is one, the information that we gave you, and two, it's just reflecting.
- 20:12Speaker 1: You know, starting to reflect because, at the end of the day, what do we always say that you know, like, change happens with awareness, right?
- 20:22Speaker 1: So when you increase your awareness, this is when change starts to happen.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So start increasing your awareness around the words that you say to yourself, to others, and even those words that you say but mean something different, right?
- 20:35Speaker 1: So sometimes I'm saying something, but my thoughts, which is also words, are saying completely different.
- 20:40Speaker 1: So my words are coming out of my mouth are tampered by the words and energy and the thoughts that are inside, right?
- 20:47Speaker 1: So I teach my students think it or say it.
- 20:51Speaker 2: So I know there are words in there.
- 20:53Speaker 2: There are, and that's the thing.
- 20:55Speaker 2: There's incongruency when you're thinking one thing and saying something else, completely Like the universe doesn't know how to respond because we already know everything is frequency, everything is energy, and so when you're putting out one thing and saying something entirely different, good luck getting what you're after Exactly.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So just start reflecting, like you know, whether it's in your journal and the notes, or even just kind of like taking mental notes while you're, you know, maybe washing dishes or whatever.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Right now, what's been working for me is when a thought just comes out of nowhere, I'm like what the heck, where did you come from?
- 21:29Speaker 1: Like, really Like what was like.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So I'm kind of like always also playing around with it, like laughing at it, making not making fun, but like what, like you know.
- 21:43Speaker 1: So just kind of also take it lightheartedly, like, yes, I understand, like digging deep is not easy and it's like the shit comes out, but also try to find some humor and some laughing and whatever.
- 21:53Speaker 1: So laugh at the negative thoughts.
- 21:55Speaker 1: You know, like where the fuck did you come from?
- 21:57Speaker 1: Right now, Really.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Something like that, Like you know just anything, that just kind of light to make it lighthearted and then shift it.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, but first, like just kind of take an inventory, absorb it, look at it, write it on paper and even if you know something, just look at it and yeah, it's funny that you say that I did.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I don't do this with all my clients, but I have had some where we've talked about the things that they're telling themselves all the time and I've had them write down all of their thoughts for the day.
- 22:31Speaker 2: So you can't write down all your words for the day that you spoke to others, but you can write down a lot of your thoughts and then you can look at how many negative are in there too, because sometimes we really are not aware and, like Denise said, that awareness for everything is key.
- 22:46Speaker 2: We can't make change, you know, we can't make the unconscious conscious until we're aware of it.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And I mean I can give an example with my speech kiddos, like, because some you know, like the other day when SLP contacted me, like for advice or whatever.
- 23:02Speaker 1: So I was seeing the kiddos like he has no awareness, he's talking, I know he when he's.
- 23:07Speaker 1: You know, when you're little, you have no awareness of your sounds.
- 23:09Speaker 1: But how we teach them to start correcting themselves is being aware that they are actually saying the sound wrong.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Because if they think they're not saying it wrong, they're like what is wrong with you?
- 23:20Speaker 1: So, like this kid talks to you, it's like why aren't you understanding me?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Like there's something wrong with you.
- 23:27Speaker 1: He's in kindergarten, so love it, but you know what I mean.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Like we always also have to show them, like here, this, you're saying this song like the sound, like this, so in order for us to change it, we need to change that.
- 23:37Speaker 1: So just awareness with everything.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah, always yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 1: So this is our tip for you.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I mean it's kind of like you know, a little bit not tangible, but we want to challenge you, right, like I do also want to challenge you because, to be honest, I guess all of the things that we're saying are simple, kira, but to actually really be willing to do it.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Not everybody is Well, and that's the thing we talk about healing.
- 24:06Speaker 2: And it's like, yeah, healing, if you're thinking of the physical body, is not just popping a pill, taking a supplement.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Like healing is all of the shit we're talking about on these episodes.
- 24:16Speaker 2: And, yeah, it's not.
- 24:19Speaker 2: It's not fun.
- 24:20Speaker 2: It can be simple, but it's not easy because it's hard.
- 24:23Speaker 2: It's hard to relive some of those stories that we heard and look at oh my gosh, the way that I speak to my spouse is not great, Like exactly.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, or the way I speak to my kids, the way I speak to my students, to my clients, to my parents, to my, to my, you know whatever.
- 24:42Speaker 1: You know what I mean, like on this, every single day, and when we don't, and when we don't use our tools and strategies, you know we go back sometimes into like, you know we're human and we're like, oh, I, my old pattern just crept up or something you know, also using those words, being aware you know like, oh, something from the.
- 25:12Speaker 1: You know, like I'm repeating a pattern, or this is a trauma loop or something like that.
- 25:15Speaker 1: You know what I mean.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Like, for example, today I'm repeating a pattern, or this is a trauma loop, or something like that.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You know what I mean.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Like, for example, today I was going to give a quick example, I know, before we end today, because I've had trauma, right, I mean just being born in a country where there's war all the time.
- 25:27Speaker 1: That's trauma by itself.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So there's always a trauma loop in my mind.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And today in the morning, I was fine, I did my meditation, I did my meditation, I did my journal and everything.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, as I'm preparing for the day, I started feeling my heart racing and so I immediately I started like I really don't know what this is.
- 25:45Speaker 1: But I know, like my brain, because remember, we talk, we listen to Dr Don, so whenever there's a trauma loop, your mind is looking for an action.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So I just told my mind I'm like dude, chill out, you're safe, you're not running from anything.
- 25:55Speaker 1: There's no bear, there's no lion, there's no war, there's nothing.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Just calm down, you know like.
- 26:05Speaker 1: And then just by me saying these things, to my mind it kind of interrupted the you know the that loop, yeah, so, yeah, it does.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And to end things, I mean I think I want to finalize because you just said something too.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Give yourself grace again, because if your kids are grown even me, right, former teacher, I can think of so many things I said to students that I'm like yeah, I hope that didn't negatively impact that, and it's not like I was mean, it's not like I said like you suck, but like so many things I could have changed.
- 26:36Speaker 2: And it's like I didn't know, so you didn't know.
- 26:39Speaker 2: So don't beat yourself up.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Absolutely Focus on the now.
- 26:43Speaker 1: That's it.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Focus on the now.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Focus on the now and moving forward.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Don't just like, beat yourself up Exactly.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Have some grace.
- 26:49Speaker 1: And I think we have reached the end of the episode and we would really love to hear from you, like you know, send us an email, dm us on social I'm taking a break from social media so you can DM the podcast, instagram, kira, you know or Facebook or email us.
