- 0:19SPEAKER_01: Each week we'll go deep into the patterns, wounded parts, and the real stories behind why we get stuck and how we find our way through.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: If you're ready for honesty, depth, and tools that actually work, you're in the right place.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: I am so glad you're here.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Good morning, everyone.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Stories from the Lost and Found.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: I'm your host, Krishna.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And today I am so excited to have my friend and the very lovely Jessica Crusin, who has spent 15 years building the funnels behind six-figure launches, including a single webinar that closed$100,000 in sales for a client with fewer than 100 attendees.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited to hear about this.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: As founder of Design Crew, she helps establish female founders turn visibility into revenue through magnetic messaging, conversion funnels, and custom AI trained to their brand.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Her core belief: most businesses don't need more marketing.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: They need marketing that actually converts to an offer.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I need this so badly.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: This is how I came to meet you and the mastermind that we're in.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: And I'm just so excited to learn from you today.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Welcome.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Amazing, Krishna.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for having me.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I'm so excited to get into it and just see what happens in this conversation.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, can you start out by telling us like what it's like to work with you when a person like me who's never who I'd never heard about a funnel?
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've seen it and I know what it was.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: I didn't know what the name for it was, didn't know how it worked, had zero strategy in my own business for 24 years as an entrepreneur, which is not advisable, but somehow I did it.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Like, what would it be like if I came to you right now and was like, I need your help?
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Yes, I love it.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all, congratulations on being in business for so long.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: And believe it or not, you did have a strategy.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You just didn't know you were working one.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: So um, so I think what makes me a little different too is even in your explanation, is I when people work with me, I'm not only marrying like data and strategy with what we do for you.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: I'm also a lot of intuition, a lot of like what your energy is and how we can bring that forth to attract your ideal client.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So it's both, it's both and.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: We're like 10, 20, 100 steps ahead.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And so it's really learning how to message and communicate to your ideal client exactly where they are, and then building a funnel throughout that.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: And it's it's a little different for every single client.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: However, there's some tried and true through lines and strategies that we implement into someone's business, and just everyone needs to be growing their email list.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Um, especially right now, um Meta is being very scrutinizing a lot of accounts and either shadow banning them or limiting them or shutting them down because they have AI that's doing a lot of the legwork now.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Um, and so when you build your own list and you are present on platforms and doing workshops or webinars that are your own, that you own, uh, you can go a lot further and a lot faster uh with that.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So um as far as like when people work with us though, I just really get to know my clients for better or for worse very intimately and knowing exactly what's gonna pull their business forward at scale.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Well, for example, we know each other a little bit.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Like, how would I grow my email list at this point?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: So I think specifically for you, uh, visibility is king, queen, maybe we'll say was is queen for you.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Um and being I I think you are extremely talented.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: And I find this with most entrepreneurs, they're very talented at what they do.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: The um the level of breakthrough that you create for your clients is is, I don't know the word for it, is like is amazing.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: So I think giving your clients an experience of that in a workshop format um and regularly, consistently um allowing them to experience who you are and what you do.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Um, a funnel I would put in, I would do live workshops if I were you, uh, where you can pull a group together that are that's interested in breakthrough transformational like counseling, coaching, therapy, etc.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: And then I would also create a lead magnet that really speaks to their first problem.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: So we'd have to deep dive and go even deeper further.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Like I've I've worked with you personally, so I I don't have my like necessarily my business strategy brain on when we we've worked together, but um finding what that like what is that person thinking about at two in the morning and how can you help solve or soothe that problem in like 15 minutes or less in that initial free offer that will then tip them into either working with you one-on-one or if you have a group program, pulling them into that.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Um, so we want a very clear customer journey.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people are like, let me just throw this up there and see if it works.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: What I advise is like, what's the final offer that you want to make and then reverse engineer from that?
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: And how are you gonna lead them into that offer?
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: And I think you're so good um on camera and in person, and you have such a soothing where I think something on video for a free offer would work better for you than just like a PDF.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I would do like a 15-minute or like three, five minute, like here, we're gonna just sit together, me and you, in this five to 10 minute video, and I'm gonna give you a nugget of gold that's gonna get you out of the pain that you're currently in.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: I have so many ideas about that.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: And it's like, do you work with people at that level?
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Or are you like, do this and then come back to me and we'll go to the next step?
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: Um, I have both as an opportunity, just depending on where the client is at.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: But I I mean, I prefer working one-to-one with my clients and really extracting that genius and getting it into a strategic funnel.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So, yes, I mean, the short answer is yes.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Um, if if people aren't ready for an investment level of working with an agency, then I can kind of coach them through it and they can DIY the like tech and fundamentals on their own.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: So, and what I find too, let me, it's coming to me, so I'm gonna say it.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Like, especially if if anyone listening is like working with a VA, I love VAs, I think they're amazing, but they don't often know the strategy or how to extract genius from you.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: And so they're excellent in implementation, but that means you have to tell them what to do.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And if your zone of genius isn't marketing, uh, sometimes that's that's challenging and you're like, okay, like I'm I I saw a reel or I was took a course or something like this.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: And I've let me just like again throw spaghetti at the wall, see if this works.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: But if you have a strategic marketer like in your back pocket, uh, it's really helpful to kind of know and extract that genius, and then and then you can run off and have your VA do the implementation.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: But we do implementation as well.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, I love that so much.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: And I love that you were like, it's just coming through because I'm having all of these like creative ideas come through just as we're talking for just what I think we could do together.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: But I just know that a lot of people who come see me as clients, patients, people who come into my life, they are entrepreneurs and they do want to know this stuff.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Um so that's really good to know.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: So there are different ways someone can work with you.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: You prefer one-to-one, definitely grow email list.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: And then taking it like from, for instance, I just started the podcast, right?
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: And my solo episodes are about the parts of us that often show up, explaining that as a subconscious limitation, a program, right?
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: And then also as a part through the lens of internal family systems so that one, okay, people can understand where it comes from.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: It's not that those parts are bad.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: They just are trying to help us survive.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: And then having an implementation practice at the end to be with that part because I know so many of us are really craving implementation.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Like we don't need another course, we don't need more information, we don't need more work to do.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: No, we need that time to put those tools into place.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: And so I love your idea for me personally, anyway, of just having the like the videos that can help take people maybe to the next step of that.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: So, yes, I'm having all kinds of creative ideas.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I love that you're having all kinds of ideas, and that and that comes twofold.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Like your energy is really amazing on camera.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and and I would all I would I would beg to say I that probably most likely most people's energy is good on camera, they just don't think so.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And so they hesitate or they're afraid or they're scared.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: And I just would challenge anyone listening, like maybe give it a try.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Because, which leads me to part two is video tends, now we're looking at data, tends to convert better because, and I'm sure many people have heard this phrase like people buy from people they know, like, and trust.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: And if someone can feel like they're being face to face with you, seeing your mannerisms, kind of getting a vibe for your energy, your personality, like how you talk, the isms that you have, you know, that just it's like, okay, you're my person, you know, and here's who I want to do this type of work with.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of us could use some help about feeling safe to be seen, showing up online and giving less fucks about if it sucks or if it doesn't land, you know what I mean?
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: I didn't have that for myself.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: I probably would have, you know, given up a long time ago.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: It's just a lot of practice and see what works.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: But for a lot of people, it's very stressful, which is why I'm finally to the point where I'm like, I just need to hire someone to do my social media.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: And then it's stressful.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: So we yes, and I love this too that you're bringing this up.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: We have a couple clients that we do social for because it all works together.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and one of the things that we do, because we've we found that a lot of entrepreneurs feel this way, is we sit in on on a Zoom like this.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: We use a different platform um for video quality and we're we're like running the scripts with you.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like in the production room with you.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: So you're actually filming, you're actually doing it, you're being held accountable.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Um, and we've just found this very effective, especially for that like first couple of months when you're like kind of getting your C legs to start filming these reels and getting more visible.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: It's just helpful to kind of have a support system there for you.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: And I just like for some of us, like it even took me like forever to allow other people to schedule themselves.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: I know I sound like so archaic when I say that, but it was just like as an entrepreneur and you're used to being one-to-one.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, everything's changed since COVID and people are so used to virtual.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: Even handing over social media, it's like, who can I trust that's gonna present like my very precious offering in my voice?
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: So being at that place in my own business feels like I've scaled because I'm like, you know, I'm in alignment now with people who I feel like could represent my business, who I might even cry because I'm like, oh my God, that's so good.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: You're like, you feel so sane.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: You get me, you know.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Yes, I think that's very important in any strategic partnership um, that that person understands you, your voice, who you are, and can and can also maybe push you to that next level where it's even more clear, clear, concise, magnetic.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Um like even using the term internal family systems, your ideal client might not be thinking that particular term because it is a technical term, you know.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: So it's like, how did your parents affect how you're responding and reacting and the habits you've made, you know, or your your family, you know, so sometimes we need to like pull it into a little bit more plain English and um so so that we know we're grabbing our ideal client and they understand what we're saying.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I'm so ready in my like life and where I'm at just as a person to get systems in place to have the more freedom that I'm really just wanting to have.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: So I love it.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, do you want to talk about how you help that client have this huge launch with uh yeah, absolutely?
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: So um there's there's a lot of components that go into a launch, and this was an Evergreen.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: So she meaning you know, she the cart was always open for this particular program and it was a higher ticket program.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: Um but the the key thing is you have to do the work and you have to do all the things on on the checklist, so to speak.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: Um, and then also have you know game time decisions made and like pivot where you need to.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: So I'll just start with that caveat.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: And we really um I was just very impressed with this client because she she did everything I told her to do, which made me so happy.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: I was just like, run the playbook, if you will, and it'll work.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: So and she had a a small list, by the way, a small email list.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: And um, but her list were like raving fans, and her following are raving fans.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: So the power of even a small list is so significant.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Like I think a lot of people again trip themselves up.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, my list isn't that big, it's not gonna work, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Um, but we ran this webinar.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Um, primarily, most of the attendees were already on our list.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: We did not run ads, by the way.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and we were testing and and uh using messaging and running workshops for a while, and then we found what worked.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: And then you doubled down on what works.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: So um, and in this particular webinar, she we had a hundred, I think over a little over a hundred attendees show up, which is amazing.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Um, I think she had like an 80% show rate.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: So out of all the people that registered, 80% of them showed up.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Don't make me do math right now.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Um and which was like we were obviously so very happy.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: And then we did all the things, one leading up to the webinar and post-webinar that allowed this launch to be so successful.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: And a couple of those, I have like all, I mean, this I could teach on this for like three hours.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: Um, but just to like name a few of the things that we did, there were a significant amount of promotional emails, you know, having people attend.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: The webinar was a paid webinar, not very high.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: It was$27.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: So there was already buy-in.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Um, we sent a lot of reminder emails and reminder texts.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Texts are great, you know.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: So if you're not checking your email, a lot of people usually have their phone by them and get alerts when so I think this increased our show rate as well.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: We were obviously she was very active on social, not only in her posts and her reels, um, talking about the workshop and the the energy and the and and the teachings that were gonna be behind it.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: But then she was also very active in her story.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: So a lot of your followers won't see your actual content, your reels and things like that, but they will see your stories.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: So you also, whatever you're promoting, I don't care if it's a$10 product or you know, a$50,000 mastermind, um, you should be in your stories and you should be talking about it because that's where most of your followers are gonna see your stuff.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: So um, between what we were doing on email, what we were doing on social, she had uh her registrance obviously opt-in and pay.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: And then she also had um a significant show rate because of every reminders and everything we were saying beforehand.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: And then post-webinar, there was a series of emails that we sent um and a few texts post-webinar reminding them of the offer that she pitched on the webinar, and and she was very great on the webinar as well.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: So you'll want to be practicing these things.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Um, and um, and then you know, she got to work on her sales.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: She did not have a sales team, she did not have closers, she did not have setters, none of that.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Um, and she stayed in the game.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: And I think this is a lot of where people maybe compress or like as soon as they do the webinar, they're like, Okay, I'm done.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: A lot of the the energy needs to remain um until you either close cart or you decide, okay, this is you know where we're gonna wrap up.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Um, and she had a goal in mind good, better, best goal, and she hit it and it was it was pretty incredible.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Uh and then once you find that sweet spot, you double down on it for as long as it works.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: And then you let the data inform you.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and that was like a very brief explanation of of how it worked.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: But you know, obviously there was like little pivots and make let's send this extra email.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: This messaging point really resonated with people on the live webinar.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about it in email and in social as well.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: So you want to be grabbing that information as you go and continue to communicate it to your audience.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Is this making sense?
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, I feel like I could talk about it forever.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: So I just want to make sure it's landing.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: No, it's completely landing for me and questions that stand out from Matt.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Well, for one, I think it's really encouraging that you don't need to have a huge audience to have a giant impact, but you do need to have some strategy and support.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Um I wonder about the so, like when I send emails, which before I did my one and only funnel was very random.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: I have a really high open rate just organically.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: But like I always wonder when I'm getting emails from other people, like how many make it to people's inboxes?
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Because a lot of mine go to spam from people like that I, you know, follow where they go to promotions, and once in a while they'll come to my inbox.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: But like, I'm not reading my spam and my promotions, you know what I mean?
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: So it's like, okay, 40% open rate, which seems apparently it's pretty good.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know, but um 40% is good, yeah.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so you're just kind of like throwing them out there, it seems like hoping you will actually land in the right's inbox.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Send and pray is not a strategy.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know, I don't know if you To speak to that, but it's like one.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: I'm like, is anyone even getting this?
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Because I don't, I don't read my data.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna say that.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: That's why I girl can help me.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, you're open rate, that's really great.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, but that's because someone told me.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: And also I hear from people they're like, Oh, I've really been loving your emails.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, Oh, awesome.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: So sometimes it does feel like you're just sending into the void.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: I would say that's true with both email and social.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: Um, definitely be checking your data.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Um, because your data is gonna tell you a lot.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: Um there's a c there's a couple different questions in there.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: So let me back up.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: When you first have people opt into your list from the free offer you give, or maybe they're signing up for a webinar or anything like that, you really want to implement training your audience to one, add your email to their address book.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: And like right when they're warm and hot, it's like you don't want to miss any communication from me, and you will unless you add your email to add my email to your uh address book.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: And you can even like take a screenshot and show them how to do that.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and then if it's if something does land into your promotions folder, drag drag it into your primary folder.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: That way you can make sure you continue to get emails from me.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: That's two strategies.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: The third strategy is in your very first email that you send to someone, ask them a question and/or just tell them, hey, you're gonna get these in your primary inbox if you just reply to this email with a word, you know, transformation.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: Yes, make it really easy because then it just shows your email provider that this is a real person and you're engaging with them.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: So you just want to educate people that they have to do one, one of those three things.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: If they do all three, that would be amazing, but that's asking a lot from someone.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: So that's how you make sure you're out more out of spam, out of promotions, and um and more in the inbox.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: Also, the email you're sending from, the whatever you connect to your email marketing platform, you don't want to make it like info at or even hello at.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: You want to have it have a real name.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: Um, this is also like a signal to your people's email service providers that you're like a real person and that you're not just, you know, a promotional or business or something like that.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: So that's also something you want to make sure that you're doing.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: There was other questions.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Um sending randomly.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: Email is one of my favorite things.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: And if you go to my social, you'll see it's probably what I talk about the most as an entry point into um working with us and what I like to educate people on because it is not a lost platform.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: In fact, ROI on email is like so much higher than social media because you already have people who have bought into your world.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: They're like, I want to be here, I want to hear from you.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: Um, so very important to not skip over email at all.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Um I people always are like, really?
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: I would suggest sending three times a week.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: And I know that feels like a lot, but repurpose your stuff always.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: And the the reason for three a lot of people are like, I don't want to be annoying.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: If you start with one time a week, if you're not like sending at all, or you're sending very sporadically.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: And I would get out of the mentality of like, I'm gonna send a newsletter.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Like, don't nobody really reads that anymore.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: And you don't even really need to have like a designed email.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: I recommend text only.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: One, people are just more likely to read it.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: And how do you how would you email like a client or even a friend?
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Not that we email our friends really.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Um, you it's it's text only, like not this big old design thing.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're product based, I would say get visual, but most of my clients are service-based.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: So, and just talk to them like a real person and add value with a soft CTA, meaning like in your PS or at the very end, like if this was intriguing to you, you know, reply to this email, ask a question, or send them to a direct link to um maybe you have like a lower ticket offer or something like that, just to kind of get them into the flow um of your sales funnel, if you will.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: Um, the but if you're gonna, and if you're gonna do three, I always recommend the value add, a strictly promotional email, meaning you're talking about your offer and its transformation and benefit and why it would be helpful for them, and you're sending them directly to a link or to book a call with you.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: And then the third email is called a hand raiser.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Very short, very simple.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: If you're a woman, 40 plus entrepreneur, and you're struggling to um grow your email list, um um reply with a word email and let's start a conversation.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: Boom.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Like, name who they are, the problem that they're having, and how, and like maybe a little line of how you would solve it, or like what's possible, and then have them respond with a word.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Um, this is a very low barrier to someone engaging in a conversation with you.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: It's much like what maybe someone would talk about as a DM strategy on social, but you're doing it within the email.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: I have so many questions.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, asking away, fire away.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: No, but I think like what stands out is that um we really just want to be consistent and stay on, you know, I just did this funnel, and then there's been like all this space where I need to only like a few weeks space, but it's like really I had this idea of like, oh my God, could we really just send like out a text with the perfect messaging and then have this video that people can link to that I make that's like, oh, here's this whatever that you were talking about before?
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Like that seems like a really cool thing to do for people because people do receive stuff on their phone.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, text message marketing is also amazing.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: Growing a text list is just also very powerful.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: Well, I actually did have a question like, would that three email strategy work if you were sending just one a week?
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: Or would you have a different strategy?
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Um, if you're only sending once a week, I would then do like a mix of those three.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Like I'd send you send value one week and then like a promotional the next week.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Um, hand raisers will take you literally three minutes.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: So I just would like advise anyone you and anyone listening, like don't make it a big deal.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Like, if you even do one hand raiser a week and a value add and mix between promotional and that, there's two a week, you're like already ahead of the game.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: And here, listen, for those who are like, oh my god, that's a lot that feels annoying, or that's a lot of work.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: The the fact of the matter is, is not everyone's gonna open your email every single time, but they will one see your name in your inbox.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: So that's just like a little like psychological bloop.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: I remember Krishna, right?
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Um, I remember Jessica.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, I didn't read her email, but her name came into my awareness, right?
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, so that even that even if they delete it and don't even read the subject line, right?
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Um, and so the idea is even if they open every third, fourth email, that's better than okay.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Say they only open every third email, then you're hitting them like once a month if you're only sending once a week.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, like it the world is busy, the world is inundated with information.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: We need, I think we're up to like 26 impressions before anyone will even make a move.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Like, so volume is a little bit important right now, just because there's so much being thrown at people.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: Um which like intuitively for me and like compassionately, and how much I delete people's emails from my own inbox.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: I have the belief, like so many, like I don't want to be annoying, but it is okay if people just unsubscribe and then you're speaking more to the people who really want to work with you in your thousand percent.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: Like be in such gratitude if anyone unsubscribes, you're like, Thank you so much.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: You're not my person.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: You're you're organically cleaning my list for me, which will make your own tree go up and your deliverability go up.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: So, like, don't worry about unsubscribes, they're just not your person.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: You only want people that are your people in your world, so and it wouldn't take me long because I wouldn't be doing it.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: I'd be having you doing it.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: So, but I mean, and I think a lot of people are afraid it's like, oh, they're not gonna have my voice, they're not gonna communicate the same way I do.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: What when we work with clients, we're like, we're getting in there, we're getting in deep with like how you talk, the voice, the words you use, what's important to you, who your ideal client is.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: And then we're also extracting stories from you often.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: So it's like it's relatable and realistic to our clients', you know, business lives, how they're actually navigating and moving through the world currently.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: So well, and I want to speak to that because you know, I want to support somebody that I really like and you have all this best friend energy, and I feel really seen by you.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: So it's like, of course, you want to work with somebody like that who's gonna understand how to represent your business.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: And so I just want to thank you for coming into my life because I think that's really important when you're gonna be working with somebody.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of us pay people who we don't necessarily like, and it's you know, that doesn't really make any sense.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: You have a lot of choices, there are a lot of options, and so I wonder like for you as an entrepreneur, like, how is it for you in your own business right now, if you don't mind talking about that a little bit and and what you love to do so much, and then where you feel like you're hitting some challenge?
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love it.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: The entrepreneurial journey is not for the faint of heart.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: Um, so kudos to anyone who is is on that journey.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: It takes courage and tenacity and the risk taking and willingness to ride storms that you may have never thought you would have to ride.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: So I'll just I'll start with that.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'll also say I'm probably pretty unemployable because I like to do things my way.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Um, so I just and I think most entrepreneurs can probably relate to that.
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: Um, so as far as my business right now, I mean, like there's a lot changing with AI, and um, I think just like energetically, there's been a huge shift over the past year, year and a half, not only for me, but I've heard it in many circles for a lot of businesses, a lot of female entrepreneurs, and they're like, what are we doing really?
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and how is this gonna, how is this going to move and and how where are we going?
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: Where are we headed?
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: And then with AI specifically, information.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: We're out of the information age and we are in the transformation age.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: And so it's like, what transformation do I create and provide for my clients versus like what information can I provide them?
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: And so that is something I've been diving deep into with myself and how I approach business, and then also how I help facilitate what I do with clients.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Um, and there was a period of time, I'll just say like very candidly, where my identity was so wrapped up in my business.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: And and if the business was good, I was good.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: And if the business wasn't good, I wasn't good.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: And I think that is a big transformation that I've gone through personally in the last year, where I love what I do, I'm very passionate about what I do, and I love making an impact, but it the business is not who I am.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: And and to and the freedom that comes from that is so fantastic.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Um so problem solving in the business becomes a strategic and tactical thing.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: Of course, my heart is still in it because I'm also in relationship with people, you know, my clients, there is a relationship, obviously.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: Um but it becomes like a strategic and tactical problem solving versus an emotional one, which is really great.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: It's really great.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think as women, because we we are so hard and we like we love what we love and we get really in there and we care deeply about our people.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: Um it's it's a very good lesson to learn and to um kind of navigate through as you to continue to grow as an entrepreneur and a business owner.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's continual needing to trust, trust, trust, trust, trust.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: And when shit hits the fan, knowing how to hold yourself when you feel alone or lost or scared or wondering like where, you know, your next like big money is gonna come through.
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: And that's not an easy thing to just say that you can do, right?
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Like that's kind of the deepest wounds for most of us is just like that that feeling alone or like what would happen to me if I failed.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: Like those are really big fears for people.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: And so I'm just wondering how you were able to get or how you continually kind of expand that trust and um the ability to hold yourself, right?
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: When it gets when it gets such a great question, and like 9,000 things flooded in at once.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: Um, I will say community is key surrounding yourself with a support system that really is not only cheerleading for you, but will call you out on your BS when it's present and help you work through um whatever it is that is coming up um as as you navigate uh risks and changes and transitions and whatever, you know, whatever fears, etc.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: So having your team around you, your sport team and your community around you.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: Um, and luckily my husband is amazing.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: Also, I'll just shout out the hubby.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, to have a partner that is really loving and supportive is also just has been such a strong foundation for me.
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: Um and then second, you said the word failure, and I think my relationship with failure has changed a lot, especially in the last year and a half, is like I I don't really believe in it.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: I don't really I and let me tell you, like when I started kind of a year and a half ago and I was like kind of questioning everything and being like, what is this and what am I doing?
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: blah blah blah.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: There was definitely a sense of failure.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: And then I think I've come to a place where it's like the what for around all of it has been so strong and so beneficial that there was no, there's never been a failure.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: It's like you're as long as you're still alive, you have the opportunity to take whatever comes your way and look and turn it into a lesson and like grow from it and move from it.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: And um and look as and as long as my identity is not tied to the business or even like other things happening in life, it's like, okay, cool.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm a spiritual person or spiritual being like walking through this my time here.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: If we're gonna go deep, you know, if we're gonna get spiritual.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: And it's cool, like what experiences do I want to have, and how do I want to navigate through them?
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: And how do I want to change what's who I am as a person or what's happening?
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Um, how can I grow from this?
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: And I think that trust builds from that.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: And that was such a beautiful answer.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: I want to thank you for sharing that.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: And so just also name that like those are survival parts of us as well that are like, what was the lesson learned?
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: And what was the silver lining?
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: And there is no failure.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: Like, that's so beautiful.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: And then also for a lot of us, there is like a very real part, like in in IFS internal family systems, we would call it an exile that does feel really alone and scared about like, oh my God, if this didn't happen, and I would be a feel, you know, like the shame and the fear.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: And so, like, to just if anyone felt that in in your story, to just know that there is, yes, as you say, ways to be with that that can even more support you for growing and expanding and like holding that part of you that really needs your attention.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: So don't judge it.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: I would say, like, don't if you to the best of your ability, like we're such harsh critics of ourselves, myself included.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: And it's like I I do everything in my power to like come to a place of neutrality as much as possible.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: And and you said it earlier, like I know that those thoughts or those ways of being were just that are just there to protect me and just to come to a place of like, thank you so much.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: I love you, I appreciate you, but not right now.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: Um, and then honestly, I'll just say, like, shout out to you.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: Like, if you're struggling through some of those things, or the the voice is very loud and hard to like get through, like, go see Krishna, she's amazing.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or just even having the language, too, of like, and you named quite a bit of it, like being with it, trying to have a neutrality in IFS, we would say, like self-energy, which would be Jessica that's already like present and wise and loving and courageous and open and curious, and extending that to the part of you so that they don't feel alone and just being like, I'm right here with you, I see you.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: Thank you for surviving.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: And also, like, we don't want those parts of us to go away or dismiss them, which is kind of how you're doing when you're not judging, instead of being like, Can you just go away?
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: Just being like, I'm right here.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: And if it's okay, like could you turn the intensity down?
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: Like maybe just a little bit so I can be with you right now.
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: Cause some of those parts are super extreme.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: So for sure.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: I just want to thank you for sharing that story because I know that that will land for a lot of people, especially as an entrepreneur.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: And I learned so much from you in the way that you post online.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: I think your messaging is so clear.
- 42:45SPEAKER_01: It helps me want to work with you for sure.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: And I just think, like, oh my God, she's so good at what she does.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: And so, yes, thank you for everything you teach me.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: For coming into my life and for sharing with everyone today your brilliant.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: And thank you for reflecting that back to me.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: And I love it, I love it so much.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: I have it's a call it arts and crafts for big kids.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm I'm just having so much fun doing doing what I do, and you're amazing as well.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: Such a beautiful soul.
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: I feel that from you.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: Is there anything else you would love people to know about you and anything you want to send us off with?
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just if well, if you want to get in touch, you know, with design crew, me, whatever, um, go ahead and follow on social, my handles at design crew with a K.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: Remnant of my last name.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: Um, so there's that.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: And I just the words that like are coming to me is like keep going.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: Like if you're on an entrepreneurial journey, or even if you're not, just like keep going.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: Like the tides always rise.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: They always do.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: Um this life is happening for you.
- 43:59SPEAKER_00: And um even if you feel like you're in a in a lull or a rut or anything like that, just keep going.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: You'll you'll surprise yourself.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: Life will surprise you.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: That sounds like a woman of faith.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: Somebody who's been through things and has found your way to the other side.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: So yeah, for everything and for being here.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much, Krishna, for having me.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: This is lovely.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: That's a wrap on today's episode of Stories from the Lost and Found.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: If something here resonated with you, the best thing you can do is share it.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: Send this to someone who really needs to hear it.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: And if you are ready to go deeper, I would love to support you.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: Download my free workbook.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: It walks you through your own subconscious blocks.
- 44:43SPEAKER_01: You can find that link in the show notes.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: Or if you're ready for a real shift, book a free strategy call and let's figure out what is keeping you from moving forward.
