- 0:01Continuation of the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke At that
- 0:06time Jesus spoke to his disciples this parable.
- 0:10There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and the same was
- 0:14accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
- 0:17And he called them and said to him, How is it that I hear this
- 0:21of thee? Give an account of thy
- 0:23stewardship, for now thou canst be steward no longer.
- 0:28Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do?
- 0:31Because my Lord taketh away from me the stewardship to dig.
- 0:37I am not able to beg. I am ashamed.
- 0:40I know what I will do then, that when I shall be removed from the
- 0:45stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
- 0:49Therefore calling together every one of his Lord's debtors, he
- 0:53said to the first, How much dost thou owe, my Lord?
- 0:57But he said, 100 barrels of oil. And he said to him, Take thy
- 1:01bill, and sit down quickly and write. 50 Then he said to
- 1:05another, And how much does thou owe?
- 1:08Who said a hundred quarters of wheat?
- 1:11He said to him, Take thy bill and write. 80 And the Lord
- 1:15commended the unjust steward for as much as he had done wisely.
- 1:21For the children of this world are wiser in their generation
- 1:25than the children of light. And I say to you, Make unto you
- 1:30friends of the Mammon of iniquity, that when you shall
- 1:35fail, they may receive you into everlasting dwellings.
