- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone, welcome into Hey Hanna.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I'm sitting outside on a very gloomy Midwestern midweek morning.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: That was a bit of a tongue twister, but I got it out.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: The weather today is giving like mid-February.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: But just wet.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: I think wherever you are in the country, you're getting just hit by a ton of weird weather right now.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: It seems to be a little bit of everywhere.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: My family on the Northeast has been talking about the Nor'easter, the great Nor'easter.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: I actually used to love when we would get really weird weather in New York City.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Because it just gave everyone in the city something to talk about and sort of bond over.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I know, weird, but I know everything is good and everyone got a beautiful sunset and then a lot of weird wet weather, but it's overall been fine.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: So happy to hear that.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: But yeah, a gloomy fall day over here.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Everything is starting to turn, and I'm not ready.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not ready.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: I know people are obsessed with fall and they like can't wait for the pumpkins and the hocus pocus and the Halloween vibes and all of the dark witchy stuff.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I'm not about it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: I'm really not about it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I I could live in summerland all year long.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: It's just the Florida girl in me.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I'm not ready for fall.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: We were just in a place that seemed like it was summer forever.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, we were in Turks and Caicos for a quick trip.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Our quick trip actually turned into like a five, six-day trip.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: God, I lost track of the days.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: But I'll get into that a little bit.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: My point was that we were in like a summerland forever.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: And then we landed in back in Wisconsin.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And it was like, oh crap, I forgot it's fall.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: It's fall season.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And I need to get all my fall outfits out.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Does any girl sort of panic when you hit a new season?
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: You're like, wait, where's all my stuff for that thing?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And then suddenly you're into the outfits that you would wear in that season, and you're like, oh my God, I forgot about you.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I forgot about this coat I love so much.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: You put the coat on, you wear it for like three days, and then you're like, all right, I'm freaking over this coat.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Where's my other stuff?
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Winter, especially, is when it gets so dark.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: You get to the point where you're just wearing your one winter coat and you're like, I don't ever want to look at you again.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: You put your winter coat away and you're like, we're done now for life.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: This is a serious breakup.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I'm not calling you for eight months.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: I'll be so sad when I have to take out my puffer.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Actually, funny enough, last time I was in my puffer, I was pregnant because I gave birth in March and I could barely zip the thing.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: So it would be nice to actually wear it and have it fit.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Anyways, what the heck am I talking about?
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Within I think around 48 hours, we went from the beautiful sweet tropics of beaches, Turks and Caicos, to standing in the middle of a pumpkin patch in Wisconsin.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: And actually, I wouldn't have it any other way.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: It was a pretty accurate representation of my life right now.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So today I'm doing a full catch up episode.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna talk about our trip, our trial and errors of traveling, traveling with a baby, Andy getting a little bit sick here and there, just some more life updates in general and everything I'm watching now that Fall TV is back, because I have a lot to talk about there.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, so now diving into the details of our trip.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: We headed to Beaches, Turks, and Caicos for what was called their fall fam.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: This was a bit of a baby toddler rave.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you guys have ever seen something like that, but holy smokes, these people do not mess around.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: There was a DJ there.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: He's like a world-renowned DJ.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Let me get his name.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Lenny Pierce.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Lenny Pierce was the DJ's name.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I was fascinated with this guy because, first of all, he was excellent.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: But second of all, this is like a thing he does.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, if you go to his website, the first ever toddler rave world tour.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Toddler Techno time.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, this was no joke.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: But also, he has 1.2 million followers on Instagram.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: His bios is he's the creator of toddler techno and toddler raves.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, he was phenomenal.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: He was actually so cool.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I just didn't know that this job existed.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I was like, should I change what I'm doing?
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Should I go into the toddler tech rave business?
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: It's actually a really cool niche to fall into.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: It's like, if you like being a DJ, you might as well switch it up.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: There's a million and a half DJs out there playing the same music.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: You might as well just play some fun, G-rated music that everyone likes and target it to families.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Like, hello.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Anyways, all right, so that was an incredible thing to see.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Andy, obviously being six months, had no idea what the heck was going on.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: There was just like a lot of loud noise.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: There was foam going about the pool.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Um, everybody's doing the baby shark dance, and that was just one song.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: But a bit overstimulating for her, but she loved it.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: She was just sitting and watching in awe.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I wish I could explain to her what was going on.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Like, I wanted to be like, this isn't part of normal life.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: This is just a day.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: This is just a fun day.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: This isn't something you'll see again, so soak it in.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: But you know, she doesn't really speak English yet, so we haven't gotten there.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: There was so much excitement in just being there as a family of three.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: It was our first big trip, just us as a family.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: And Beach just hosted me and Peter.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: They were so freaking accommodating.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: They were so lovely.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: The funny part is we were supposed to leave on a certain day of the week.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: I can't even remember anymore.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: We wake up at 3 30 a.m., okay, an ungodly time, which is insane because every time I set my alarm to 3 30, I think about the fact that I used to get up every day at that time for work.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Like, what?
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: In what world?
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Now that I'm nursing at all hours of the night still, I'm like, no, we do not set alarms at that hour.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, to get to Beaches, Turks, and Caicos, heck yes, I'll set any alarm.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: So we get up at 3:30, we, you know, get all the suitcases in the car, wake the baby up last, get her in the car.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: She's totally fine.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: It was a great morning with her.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: We get to the airport, I get a cup of coffee, I'm cruising.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: By the way, funny part is, this morning, I counted.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Peter ran into, I think it was nine people.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Nine people that he knew at the airport.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: I thought that was pretty criminal.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Now, a group of those women were people that I loved that go to his gym.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I was so happy to see them, their little family.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: There was like four of them.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: So that was a big group of people.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: But I'm telling you, we're standing in line at security.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Somebody's like, Peter, is that you?
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I'm standing in line getting a coffee.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Somebody's like, Oh, Pete, is your husband Peter?
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: I was like, Yes, yes.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: She went to high school with him.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Then we're waiting in line to get into the plane.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: He runs into someone else who used to be an old client.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: They're yapping.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Then we get on the plane and we're sitting in front of somebody who he also went to high school with.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: So they're yapping.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: And then the woman in front of me, the woman in front of me taps me on the shoulder and she's like, excuse me, with your husband The Bachelor.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: I think it's so funny when people say this because I mean, let's face it, Peter has not returned to television since being on The Bachelor many moons ago, you know?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: But I always tell him this like, if I saw him in the wild pre-dating him, like pre-knowing him, I would immediately clock it.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, oh, that's Peter Krauss from Rachel Lindsay's Season of the Bachelor.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Like I knew who he was, always.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: I watched his season.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: He had some serious fame going on in that, in that realm.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: I'm never gonna hate on the fact that people still love him from that one year that he was on television.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: I think it's quite sweet, honestly.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: And he's so kind about it.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: He doesn't, he doesn't care.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: But he's in the middle of talking to somebody else.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: This woman asks me if he's the bachelor.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, uh, uh, kind of.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: I don't know how to answer that question.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: So I'm talking to her.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Peter's talking to the guy behind her.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: It's not even 5:30 in the morning.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: There's quite frankly way too much conversation happening this early in the morning.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, moving here from New York, nobody, nobody would speak to each other on a flight that early.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Nobody.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: You live in the Midwest, everybody's like, oh, hi, how's it going?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: How was that lasagna you made the other night?
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Like, literally, everybody knows everything about everyone.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: It's insane.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Anyways, we're on the flight.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: I'm talking to Miss Bachelor.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: He's talking to the guy behind him.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: And the pilot comes on and he says, We have a bit of a situation.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Never, never, good first words.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: We have a bit of a situation.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: There's a light bulb not working, and we need it to work to leave this early in the morning.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: We have someone coming in to see if they can fix the light bulb.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: But if they can't fix it, we have to wait about 50 minutes, 5-0 minutes, in order to take off when there's better light legally.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my God.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: This isn't gonna end well.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Peter and I have a 45-minute layover in Atlanta, and then there's one flight out to Turks and Caicos only.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: So Peter's already, the wheels are spinning.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: He's like, yeah, no, we have to get off the plane.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: If the light bulb doesn't work, we have to get off the plane.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, no freaking way am I getting off this plane or going to Turks and Caicos today.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: He's like, no, it's not.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: If it doesn't work, we have to get off because, you know, he's doing the whole husband counting the X's and O's thing and already doing the math.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: And he's like, looking at our gates, looking at all the other flights that take off today, any other flight that leaves Atlanta, like any options.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And he quickly concludes that we would be out of business for the day.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: We'd have to come, we'd have to go back tomorrow and try again.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, no, I'm having a total hissy pit over that.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: I'm like, it's not happening.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: The guy comes on, of course, about 20 minutes later, he says, bad news, the light bulb, we can't get it to work.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: We're gonna have to wait another 40 minutes here.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you know what?
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Where's the light bulb?
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Let me at it.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Let me let me take a look at it.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: I could, I could fix things, you know.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Anytime somebody comes on that speaker on a plane and tells me about an error that's happening on the plane, I'm like, where let me see.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: I don't believe you.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Let me get a good look at it.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: I can I can do something, you know.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: I could figure it out.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: You need a light bulb fixed, let me do it.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I could literally run to Home Depot and back by the time I'm sitting here.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Like, let me add it.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Anyways, we get off the plane.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: And at this time it's it's barely 6 a.m.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: And we have to go get all our luggage, do the whole thing, call Peter's parents, have them come get us from the airport, mah mah.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: We get back home.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: By the time I get back home, it's not even 8 a.m.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: And I was like, wow, what a total wash of a day getting a newborn up at the wee hours of the morning for absolutely nothing.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: So she was a little sideways the rest of the day.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: But it was fine.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: We had a normal lazy work day from home, whatever.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: We try again the next day.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: And thank goodness everything went swimmingly.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Same flight, 3:30 a.m.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: wake up.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: We get to the airport.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Luckily, nobody knew Peter at this hour.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: I didn't even get a coffee because I was like, I'm not messing around.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: I'm going to sleep, just in case I'm going back to sleep.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: We get to Atlanta, everything's great.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: We are on the flight to Turks and Caicos.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: There was one hiccup where they were like, they got on the speaker and said, Oh, there's an issue at the Turks and Caicos airport.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: We might have to turn around and land somewhere else for a while.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: And we were just sort of spinning in the air for an hour, and then they told us, luckily, whatever issue had been solved and we could land.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: I was like, thank goodness.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: But yeah, anytime you have those issues when you're traveling and somebody comes on the speaker and they're like, a bit of unfortunate news here, you just clench your frickin' fist.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: You're like, get me out of this sardine tin can right now.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Like, I cannot sit here any longer than the length I'm already forced to sit here.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: But then when you do that with a baby, the amount of pure disassociation I have is honestly astounding.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: And I think I owe it all to being a New Yorker.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: Like, if you've ever, this is my theory, if you've ever taken public transportation daily anywhere in the world, and for me specifically was a New York City Seboy.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: If you've ever done that every single day, day in and day out, you've had to disassociate.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Like someone sat too close to you, somebody smelt really bad, somebody was talking too loudly, somebody was coughing near you, somebody shoved into you while they were exiting, somebody grabbed the wrong bag.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Like there's a million situations where you're like, I freaking hate my life.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to get over this, right?
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: That's the that's the disassociation I'm talking about.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: If you've ever lived through that, you can fly with a baby.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Because that's all it is.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: That's all it is, a cozy disassociation.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: I think I talked about this before, but like really, I just have to sit there with my boob out, essentially, because I'm nursing her the entire time.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: And just think, you know what?
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: I'm somewhere else.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Mentally, I'm somewhere else.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: I listen to whatever Taylor Swift song I can put in my brain that makes me go into La La Land, and I'm just, I'm, I'm in another place.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, anyways, wow, that was a long story.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: We got to Turks and Caicos and everything was just beautiful.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Peter and I are new to the sort of all-inclusive thing that beaches and sandals provide.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Growing up, I really didn't know anything about it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I just always saw those sandals commercials, you know.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: But now that we've gone a few times, we went to Sandals St.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Vincent last year.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: And then this past year, we did Beaches as a family for this big event that they had.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: And I just have to pause and say, if you have any opportunity to go to Sandals St.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Vincent, like stop everything you're doing and go.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: It was the creme de la creme, the coolest, most beautiful, delicious experience.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: The food there was unbelievable.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Peter and I still talk about it.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: We're like, that trip was we had no idea.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: We had no idea that it was such a top-notch experience until, of course, we got there.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: But Sandals is only for adults.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: So this year, that's why we did beaches.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: We stayed in a new area of the Turks and Caicos property, which was so stunning.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: And if you have kids, especially kids that are like running around age, want to play in a pool all day type age, this is a dream come true trip for them.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Like it would be amazing.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: We were like, we have to come back when she's a little bit older.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: The amount of food that they have and just like opportunities for kids to be kids is unbelievable.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Even if it's raining, there are so many arts and crafts stores and a froyo shop and gift shops and a movie theater.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: And it's endless.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: It's truly endless.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Like there's so much stuff for kids to do.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: And then the cool part is that they also make you feel like you're an adult.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Like it's not just stuff for kids all the time.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: They have adult-only restaurants, which we didn't go to because, you know, they have babysitting options all the time.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: They have babysitters that'll come to your room.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: They have like a free daycare on site if you want to use it.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: But then the overall atmosphere, like there's just they cater to both kids and parents.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: So you don't feel like like there were some people there who didn't have kids and it wasn't weird, you know?
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: But at the same time, I could be sitting there nursing, or Andy could be screaming in the middle of a dinner.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: And it's like not unusual.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't feel like, oh my God, I'm ruining this dinner looking around.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: It's like, no, everybody is in the same boat, everybody's experiencing that.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So that part of it, I loved.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: It was so nice to be around other families who A, have kids the same age as Andy, and we could chat with and get to know their experience and whatever.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: But also just knowing that if your kid ends up on the floor throwing a hissy fit, like everybody is in the same boat there.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: That part I loved.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: It is interesting doing a trip with a baby, obviously, it being the first time we were away, just us three.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: You know, you can't do like a late dinner.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Every night you go home.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: We would go to dinner at like 5, 5:30.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: And then it's like, well, she has to go to bed by seven.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: So we have to be in the room by 6:30 to like get her there.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: And there were some days we, you know, we stayed out till like 7, 7:30, and she was in bed by eight.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: But you know what I mean?
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: You can't like go get a late dinner because she'll start to get really cranky.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: It's just a totally different ballgame.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: And we grew to love it.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: We really grew to love it.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Like going to sleep early, just getting in bed early and getting cozy early and watching a movie or just sitting outside, having a drink, whatever that was, knowing that she was right there asleep was was actually really nice and different than what we are used to in vacations past.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: So it's one of those things you almost have to remind yourself like this is just a season.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: There's gonna be a season where our kids are up and screaming till 9, 10 p.m.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: and we're like, go to sleep.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Or there's gonna be seasons where our kids don't need us to watch them and they're running around the resort and enjoying all the free food.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And it's like, okay, everyone is back in the hotel room by X time.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Like it's just a season of this.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: So trying to embrace our sort of new normal routine.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: It was a little weird at first, but it ended up being really fun and like worked for us quite well.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Every morning we were getting up and jumping in the ocean and getting coffee and then running back to the hotel room so she could take that first nap.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: And then it was like right after that first nap, it was like, okay, game time.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Now we're getting out of here.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: There was only one day where I successfully had her nap at the pool.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: That's really hard to do.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: I see other moms do that all the time, and I'm like, good for you.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: You honestly win an award.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: It's hard.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: They're so overstimulated looking at everything.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: And then they're just hot and they're not in their typical routine.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: I just, I could not get her to do it anytime other than once.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: So we were running back to the room to put her down, taking turns, going outside, going to the gym, laying out, whatever.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Anyways, a really, really, really great experience if you're looking for something to do.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: If you're looking for a family trip, something that feels like a big trip, like somewhere tropical and fun, but also a trip where you don't have to plan anything and it's all just right there for you.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, Beaches and Sandals has really been such an excellent experience.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: And I never knew about it.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: I really never knew how great it was.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it was a really great travel experience.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: We, because we got there a day late, they were so nice to let us stay an extra day, but then there was no flight out of Turks and Caicos the extra day.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: So we ended up staying two extra days, which was a really, really beautiful time.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Um, unfortunately, the only weird part that happened on this trip, and this has nothing to do with beaches, was Andy got a little sick.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: She seemingly, and we're still in the weeds of trying to figure out what this is, but she seemingly got a bit of a virus, a stomach bug.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: And this, you know, of course, this could be anywhere from the plane ride to whatever.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: We were in the airport two days, you know, and Peter and I didn't get sick at all.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: But sometime around the trip, Andy picked up what our pediatrician believes was a virus, and she started vomiting.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Um, we've been working through it since she came home.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: She had one more bit of an issue where she was vomiting at home, which is just the saddest thing in the world.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: If you when your baby, like a baby vomiting, oh my gosh, it was a bit terrifying, to be totally honest.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: It's a new experience.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: You know, your baby's never vomited before.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: My baby barely spits up.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: I know some babies do that so frequently, but Andy has always spit up very little.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: So when she was full-on vomiting, I was like, we have to call 911.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: And then I'm like, wait, we're we're in another country.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: What do we do?
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Um, these just sent their doctor up and looked at her.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: She was fine.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: She didn't have a temperature.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: We just put her in our bed and Peter stayed up one half of the night.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: I stayed up the second half of the night and we watched her like a freaking hawk.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: And of course, the next morning, she wakes up like nothing happened.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: It's so funny how kids do that.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Kids get so sick where you're like, my world is crumbling.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: I can't move on.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: And then they just pop right back up, like nothing happened at all.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: It's such a mental spiral of trying to identify exactly what caused it.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: And obviously, I'm loving this stage of her in six months.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: It's so, so, so fun.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: But in these moments, when your baby gets sick, I so badly want to be like, what hurts?
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: What's wrong?
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Does your stomach hurt?
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: You know, like I can't wait for the day where she can walk up to me and be like, Mom, my tummy hurts.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Cause then I could help it before it gets worse, you know?
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: It's just crazy how motherhood can completely change the emotional tone of a moment within seconds.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Like, we're outside on the deck.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: We were like playing a card game, having fun.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: And suddenly I just saw in the monitor, I was like, something's off.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: What?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: And we run to her room and she's yeah, she was sick.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: It was crazy.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: We only had given her one type of food, and so we just stopped and I nursed her the rest of the trip, and she was perfect.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Like, not one other symptom or anything the rest of the trip.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: So everything was great.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Then we got home and I was like, oh my God, let me start giving her solids again since she's had a few days since that one experience.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: I give her a different solid.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: I give her oatmeal and banana.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: Same thing.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: A few hours later, she's vomiting it up.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: So at this point, we're calling the pediatrician, and that's when she was like, I think it's, I think it's a bit of a delayed virus.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Like, give it a beat.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: So we've now waited a few days.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: And just this morning, I tried a little bit of oatmeal again.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: So fingers crossed.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: So far, so good.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: I'm watching her nap as we speak, but it's one of those things where I just have no idea.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Like it is a pure guessing game.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: I had no idea how much of motherhood would just be like trial and error in so many different ways.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, does this pacifier work?
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: No.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Does this bottle work?
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: No.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Does this food work for you?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: No.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: So that's the stage we're at now.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: Before we traveled, she was eating solids and having a jolly time.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: So either she's developed one of those really late allergies to certain foods, or this is a bit of a virus.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: So I guess we'll find out.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: Hoping we'll get it all settled shortly.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: But it's been great to get a little bit of that summer energy out.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Now that Andy's older, I don't know if any new moms had the same fear, but having a baby outside in the summer, especially when they're in those newborn months, seemed so scary to me.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: We were really avoiding being outside for so much of her first few months of life.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: So now that she's six months, I feel like she's at a substantial time where she could just be outside, be in the heat a little bit.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: And of course, we were still watching her, had a fan on her, the whole thing.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: But it was a little bit less nerve-wracking than those first few months, and we got to really enjoy some Summerland vibes.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Coming home and immediately being in the fall vibes of the Midwest was also a treat.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: We immediately went to this giant fall festival.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: I don't even know if it's called like a harvest, is what I should call it.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: It's called Warm Belly in Cottage Grove.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: If you guys live in Wisconsin, you have to go check it out.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: It was the coolest thing.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: I actually think they have two locations.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Um, look on the Warm Belly website, but there's one in Cottage Grove, and I believe there's another one outside of Madison somewhere else.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: But there was truly everything you could ever think of in a fall festival there for you to experience as a family.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: It was the coolest thing.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: I went there with Discover Wisconsin.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: I do some honor work for them.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: And so we had to go there to film.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, thank goodness we had this scheduled because I never would have found it or experienced it.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: I called Peter and immediately was like, please come.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: So he came with his mother-in-law and brought Andy and we had like a full day exploring the corn mazes and the pumpkin patches, and they just had so much good, authentic food there, everything you could think of for kids to do.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Again, another one of those places you could just like let your kids run around and you could just easily watch them have a great time.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: There were kids everywhere.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: It was super safe, like an all-enclosed area, and a ton of toys and games and activities for them to be a part of.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: They also had so many different opportunities to take photos.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Like they had all these photo booths set up so you could take photos as a family, which was really, really sweet.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: Everything had a different theme.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: They had like a Toy Story one, a Green Bay Packers one.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: It was really cute.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was a bit of a whiplash for me going from the tropics to the immediate sweaters, pumpkins, Midwest fall.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: But it does feel so good to be back here in actual fall season.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: It's funny because the Midwest does not casually acknowledge fall.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Like the Midwest produces fall.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Growing up in Florida, you go to a pumpkin patch, you're in like a church parking lot, and you're wearing a sweater you bought on super sale at Old Navy for$5 because nobody wears sweaters there.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: And you just are getting all of the seasonal stuff at a discount.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: And you're sweating.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: You're sweating.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: But you're trying to take a QPIC and you're trying to embrace fall and drink your hot coffee, even though you go back into your car and you blast that freaking IC and you take that sweater off.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: That's what my life was like with pumpkin patches.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: So coming, so moving to the Midwest and having it be like fall-flavored donuts, a fall-flavored Bloody Mary, live music, face painting, like all of these different festival things that remind me of an episode of Gilmore Girls.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: But the weather is also just so delightful.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Like it's just perfect.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And you want to be outside all day.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's a totally new thing for me.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: I feel like every year I'm finding a new fall thing in the Midwest that I've become obsessed with.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm texting my friends and family on the East Coast.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, this is when you have to come visit me.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Like next year, come at this time so we can do this thing, X, Y, and Z.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: Like, I need my family in Florida, especially, to come experience certain things in the Midwest.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: One of those things, by the way, is haunted houses.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Holy Toledo.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: The Midwest does haunted houses so well.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: I have never experienced anything like it.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Growing up in Florida, and I know I talk about Florida so much, but growing up there, the only quote unquote, like real haunted house experience that you go to is in Orlando.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: Halloween horror nights in Universal Studios.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: That was a big deal.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: You go when you're a teenager and you're like running around, and it's definitely scary.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: But let me tell you, for about a fourth of the cost, even less than that.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: You can go to Wisconsin and you could go to a different one every weekend, all of October, and they will blow everything Universal has out of the water.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Like they are so detailed and laid out.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: And every time I go through it, I'm like thoroughly impressed.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: I'm looking around at all of it, like this is a set design.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: This is crazy.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Like the amount of artwork that goes into the haunted houses here is truly impressive.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Last year we went and I was pregnant going through and crawling through all these things.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna go into labor.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Like I'm I literally felt like I had indigestion the entire time.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: I was so anxious from all of the things popping out at you the whole time while also just being so incredibly uncomfortable.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, and that was only October.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: Like I had no idea what was in store for me, comfort-wise.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: But yeah, all in all, it was such a beautiful trip and a great way to make memories.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: But it made me think of that concept of the difference between traveling to rest and traveling to make memories.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: Because the minute you have kids, you're no longer in the category of traveling to rest, at least with little kids.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: Unless, unless you're brilliant enough to travel with some grandparents.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: If you could just pass the little ones on for like an hour while you catch up on some sleep, like, oh my gosh, that would make such a difference.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: Peter and I were talking about doing that next time.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: But you're trying to appreciate such a beautiful trip while also still managing the naps and the feeding and all of the tools that you have, and then maybe an occasional illness, like who knows?
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: It just happens when you're traveling, you know?
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: You just feel like you're never totally off duty.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: And that's just parenthood, my friends.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: That's just what I realized.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: It's funny now being a parent and thinking of all of the trips we did with my family when we were little.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: And my family was a big trip family.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: Like we not big trips.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, we would go on a lot of little trips, a lot of road trips, you know.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: Of course, I don't remember the ones when I was a baby, but we would travel, we would drive all the time to Buffalo every summer.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: And gosh, that was actually such a clutch way to do it now, thinking as a parent, because my mom would have her sisters there and their kids, and her parents would be there as well.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: So it was just like everybody was on and everybody was off at the same time.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: You know, you could like take shifts doing things.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Gosh, that sounds great.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: Maybe I need to organize something like that.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, and lastly, let's jump into some TV recaps because you know I gotta talk about what has been happening in television this fall.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: There has been so much going on.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: First of all, the show that I'm the most obsessed with right now is Dancing with the Stars.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Call me a boomer.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: I'm in love.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: I love watching it.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: I've watched the show for what feels like a decade now, but I feel like the world is finally watching with me.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: The little dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: I'm obsessed with it.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: I think it's so fun.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: I live for TV shows that I can watch with an entire classroom of people, and everyone can be involved.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: I know that as a TV producer, that is the dream scenario, right?
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: Like you want a show for all ages, all demographics.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: Dancing with the stars does that.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: I can put it on at my in-laws' house, I can put it on at my mom's house.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Kids could watch it, grandparents could watch it.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: Everybody gets into it, everybody has an opinion.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: I heard somebody else say this, and I think it's so true.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: I am not watching the dances as much as I'm watching the packages.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: I need them to give me more in the packages.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: Last week we saw who went home?
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, the chef.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: What's her name?
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I don't know how to say her name.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: I'm terrible.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Giata?
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: Anyways, she went home.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: Before that, it was Connor Leavit, Leavit from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: I don't even know why he was on there.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, I'm gonna say it.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: Why was he on there?
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: I'm happy he was eliminated.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: Only when I was looking at the process of elimination, he was the only pick.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: He was the only one where I was like, I don't feel emotionally attached to you.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: So Sayanara.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: Same with the second night of the premiere, Sarah J.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Nader.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: Love her, love her show, like her sisters.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: Their show seems entertaining.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know when season two is coming out.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: I feel like they've been teasing it for three years now.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: So goodbye.
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: Again, my least emotional attachment.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: But I just think the show is so fun to watch.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: Mora Higgins is like a creature.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: I could watch her forever.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: She's so beautiful.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: So beautiful.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: And the way she moves on the dance floor, I was like, oh, you are a professional dancer.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: Like, you're lying to us, actually.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: I think she's excellent.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: I did hear somewhere that she I found out that she got cast for this and immediately started taking dance lessons, which I think is great.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: That should not be frowned upon.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: If you have time, like go do it.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: Um, also obsessed with Ezra Fretch, the Paralympian, his partner Daniela.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: I always love who she's put with, but him competing with this prosthetic leg is like one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: I know he's an early standout, everybody likes him, but every time I see him, I'm thoroughly impressed.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: I feel like the two of them, Mora and Ezra, have winner energy.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I've been loving watching this show.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: Every week I'm rooting for someone different.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: I also really love Tatiana Ali.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: I'm I find every week I'm falling more and more in love with her because of her package.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm talking about.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: Like the packages where they tell me more about them is when I really become invested.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: I need Julia Styles to give me just a little bit more in her packages, although I really like her.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: She comes off a little bit like the character in Ten Things I Hate About You.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: Like she comes off disinterested.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I think that's just her.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: But I really like her and I really like Tatiana.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, moving on.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: The other show I started is The Traitors for Normal People.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: Are you guys watching this?
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: It's called The Traiters New Blood.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Peter and I started it, I think we're like two episodes in.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: And I really like how they have normal people because you could automatically put yourself in their shoes and figure out how you would play this game.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: Right off the bat, and I'm not gonna spoil it, but right off the bat, you're invested because somebody lies about their occupation.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: Somebody's a lawyer and they say that they're not a lawyer.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: They say that they're a college basketball coach.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: I don't know how they're gonna get away from that lie.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: Like, hello, you could look it up.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: But it's really fun to watch.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: I would be horrendous as a trader.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: I think at every time I just talk too much and I I would I would be terrible.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: I think I would play it just like Lisa Renna and not be myself, and everybody would figure me out.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: So I think it'd be really fun to be a faithful on that show.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: I actually think Peter would make an excellent trader.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: He's really bad at lying, but he's really good at game playing.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: So I feel like he could just do it.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: You know, I feel like he could get through it for like two weeks, right?
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: I think that's all you'd take to film it.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: I think he would do so well on that show.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, and quickly, the reality TV I'm watching.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, you know what's funny?
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: It's both of those TV shows are reality.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Like, hello, it's all I watch.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, Chad Powers, not reality.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: That show is phenomenal, really so funny.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: If you're looking for a show that you could watch with your spouse, with your parents, your brothers, like whoever, it's a really fun show.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: The humor is great, it's quick.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: I think it's only 30-minute episodes.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: And the plot is just so ridiculous that it gets funny.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: And you're invested.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: You're like emotionally invested in this.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: Even though Glenn Powell, who plays the main character, is making these terrible decisions the whole time, you're like rooting for him constantly.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: It's really good.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: But the other reality TV show I'm watching, the Bravo kind, Ultimate Girls Trip.
- 35:35SPEAKER_00: I'm still in the thick of it.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: It's it's the Roaring 20th, and I talked about this, but they have like, I think seven different housewives who are traveling across the country and they're revisiting these iconic cities from the franchise.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: So it starts with them in the OC and then it goes to them in Atlanta and Beverly Hills.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: They do Kyle's White Party in Beverly Hills.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: It's a really fun, like cross-franchise interaction to watch.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: The drama is mostly ridiculous.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: It's mostly low stakes.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: Like there's nothing really crazy happening.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of Kyle talking about her white party being hard for her to process without Mauricio.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a lot of Luann thinking that she is the center of attention and you know, she's on like her cabaret high horse, which is so funny.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: But there's a lot of breaking of the fourth wall and talking about like who places in who in terms of reality TV history.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: And it's really fun.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: It feels like a long commercial celebrating Real Housewives, you know?
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: Like there's a lot of cameos and a lot of appearances.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: Like Luann and Erica Jane getting into it was really fun for me to watch.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: Although my only caveat to that is I wish that the cameos were a little bit longer.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: If you don't already watch Housewives, this the history might be a little lost on you.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't watch all of the franchises, and there's some where I'm like, I don't know what they're talking about.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't care.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: I don't keep up with Salt Lake City, and there's a lot of Salt Lake City drama on there.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I found myself just like scrolling on my phone during those scenes.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: But still, it's really fun to watch.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And the last show I'm watching, I'm trying to watch, is Real Housewives of New York.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: The new, new.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: Um, I know a lot of people aren't watching the show, and I'm actually confused.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: Why are we not watching it?
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Why would we not watch this show?
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: I'm living for Carol Radswell.
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: I need more of her.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: It's much better than I expected.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: It's not the old New York with Sonia Morgan and Ramona Singer.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: But this is the closest the reboot has come, in my opinion, to just capturing that sort of specific combination of wealthy New York woman and then like strange, genuine, mess New York woman.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: You have some of these people returning who are likable, but then you have these newcomers who I'm really interested in.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: And they make you feel more connected to like the actual New York circles, not simply something that's assembled for television, you know?
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: Like these women seem to be involved in different circles separately and they talk about that.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: It it feels weirdly more authentic and a little bit bigger than the original reboot.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: So I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: But I'm so far, I'm really liking it.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: And it's easily the most interested I've been in the reboot since they've done a few of those.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: So that's where we are now.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: I feel like this was a bit of a cluster of an episode, but I just needed to catch up and talk about this specific chapter of life right now.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: That's just moving pretty quickly.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Everything is happening all at once, and I'm learning that this is just a less of a temporary phase and more of just parenthood.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: You know, this is just my new normal.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: Fingers crossed that Andy is not more sick than she's already been a few times now.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: I feel like I always come in here and I talk about something so specifically, but today it just felt like life is full and it's moving quickly, and there's so much happening, and it's all good stuff.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, there's some scary stuff, and some stuff where I don't quite understand talking about Andy's illnesses, like if, you know, hopefully those are fleeting.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: But it's all these like messy in-between moments that I feel like we all can relate to.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: We've all been there where we're just like, how is it already almost October?
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: But thank you guys so much for listening.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate it.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: I am going to talk specifically about some advice-driven segments coming up soon.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: If you guys have any topics you'd like me to talk about, I always say this, but it helps.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: Feel free to send me a DM, message me, let me know that you're listening, and what you'd like me to discuss.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: I'd love to get into anything that you guys want to hear.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: So, whether you're single, dating, need advice in that direction.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: Newly married, getting married, having babies, not having babies, whatever it is.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: I want to hear it all.
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys so much for listening and for being here.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: I so appreciate it.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: I hope everyone has a great week.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: Enjoy the rest of September.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: Bye for now.
