- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi. It's Adam here now, in this
- 0:41hypnosis session. It's all.
- 0:43About weight loss. Hypnosis specifically to follow
- 0:47a strategy that is proven to lose weight fairly quickly and.
- 0:52One of the. Reasons that people tend to
- 0:54either put on weight or fail to lose weight.
- 0:58Is because. Of the consumption of refined
- 1:01carbohydrates, This is anything that has a carbohydrate that has
- 1:06gone through a process, so we're not.
- 1:08Talking about salads and. Vegetables and fruit.
- 1:10We're talking about things like bread and biscuits.
- 1:14And pasta. Where there's gone a process of
- 1:17the actual grain is refined into flour, for example, in the case
- 1:21of bread and biscuits. So it's the refined nature of
- 1:26that. It takes a lot of the fiber out.
- 1:27And basically it means that the amount of calories per gram or
- 1:31per oz is very high. And therefore it's very
- 1:34difficult to be in a calorie deficit if you've got an excess
- 1:39of calories through the food that you consume.
- 1:43So the client I was working with for this session had in the past
- 1:47when I worked with him previously, a very effective
- 1:49strategy where they had two meals a day.
- 1:52So a an early lunch and an early dinner.
- 1:56And that enabled them to eat just as they were feeling hungry
- 2:00twice and then go to bed slightly hungry.
- 2:03But those two meals a day were what's called Paleo meals.
- 2:06And this is a combination of proteins and natural.
- 2:11Carbs. So you think of it as meat and
- 2:15veg, for example, or it might be fish and a salad.
- 2:20Now the combination of that means that your body gets the
- 2:22protein and the satiation, but it also gets the fiber and the
- 2:26micronutrients. And if you were to have two of
- 2:29these, Paleo, and the term Paleo comes from Paleolithic, it's a
- 2:33time period after Neanderthals where early humans didn't have
- 2:40agricultural farm systems and factory farming and
- 2:44supermarkets. They had to have what they could
- 2:46catch, what either they could hunt for or forage for.
- 2:50And therefore it's very well designed for rapid digestion and
- 2:54it keeps the body in a state of mild ketosis.
- 2:58It's not a ketogenic diet, but it's the kind of thing where
- 3:01your body naturally goes into ketosis so that if you have
- 3:05excess energy and body fat, your body can easily utilize that.
- 3:09So the crux of this is 2 meals a day of healthy natural foods,
- 3:16the paleo foods. But this client didn't want to
- 3:19feel like they had to eat this way forever, so they actually
- 3:22used upcoming holidays as stepping stones.
- 3:25So they would think in terms of eat this way until their next
- 3:28holiday, eat whatever they wanted during the holiday, still
- 3:32making healthy choices, and then return back to this two meals a
- 3:36day. And in doing so, it gave them
- 3:38four or five stepping stones to appreciate just how much the
- 3:42radical change would be. And the key thing to weight loss
- 3:46is not being perfect for a week or two.
- 3:49It's actually the consistency over a prolonged period of time.
- 3:53And when you eat that way, your body naturally adapts because
- 3:57weight loss is just an adaptation.
- 4:00Your stomach shrinks, your glycogen reduces, your insulin
- 4:03resistance increases, and your body therefore has the ability
- 4:07to use this process called ketosis to use energy stored in
- 4:12your body fat. So if you like the idea of a
- 4:14very simple way to lose body fat in a way that is sustainable,
- 4:19this isn't a diet, it's just a way of eating.
- 4:22But by eating this way, you can actually lose weight.
- 4:25And it work even better if you've got upcoming holidays
- 4:27that you can think of in terms of can you eat like this two
- 4:31meals a day, healthy natural foods until your next holiday.
- 4:35You'll get even more value from it.
- 4:37Now it was created for an individual.
- 4:40Some of the suggestions are going to be calibrated to
- 4:43regressing to a time when they were already eating that way.
- 4:46That might not be the case with you and thinking about their
- 4:49kind of holiday destinations. So if you want something
- 4:52customized, look in the show notes because there's many
- 4:54different links there where you can explore how to work with me.
- 4:58And if you want to have a chat on Zoom, that can be arranged
- 5:02through that process as well before committing to any
- 5:05sessions. For now, though, I'd encourage
- 5:07you to find a quiet, comfortable location where you're not going
- 5:10to be distracted or disturbed, to relax, and to enjoy the
- 5:14session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:42you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath.
- 5:50And as you exhale, that's it. With your eyes closed, feel that
- 5:56wonderful feeling of release. Feel any tension, any stress,
- 6:06any worries. Start to leave your body in your
- 6:12outward breath. Before.
- 6:17Breathing in not just relaxation, but a feeling of
- 6:22excitement. This is already a different
- 6:30phase of your life, and wouldn't it be wonderful to be that kind
- 6:46of body shape where you feel confident, energized, have the
- 6:57mobility, the energy to really enjoy?
- 7:06I don't want you to get a feeling that you've earned this.
- 7:13Some people, they work their life and then get to retirement
- 7:18and it's restrictive, but for others, it can be a wonderful
- 7:28opportunity of freedom of choice.
- 7:39And wouldn't it be wonderful to activate the version of you that
- 7:45gets to enjoy that even more? As you breathe in, breathe in
- 7:53that relaxation and excitement. As you exhale, exhale any
- 8:02feeling of shoulds and have TOS any pressure, coercional
- 8:09conditions. When you get to do something,
- 8:16doesn't it feel so much better? So as you breathe in and breathe
- 8:25out, just imagine floating back in time, floating all the way
- 8:31back to a time when you can observe that version of yourself
- 8:38making a shift. I want you to observe that
- 8:44version of you clearing out the carpets of any process or
- 8:51refined carbohydrates. See that version of you not
- 8:59doing it reluctantly, belligerently.
- 9:03See that version of you doing it from a place of wonder,
- 9:10possibility, enthusiasm? And as you see that version of
- 9:16you see how within days, the combination of the ritual of a
- 9:27sprinkling of removing those distractions and temptations
- 9:34created just enough friction for you to figure out a way of
- 9:39eating that works very well with your body.
- 9:46I want you to observe how that late breakfast about 11:30 would
- 9:56mean that you didn't feel hungry until late afternoon, and then
- 10:04late afternoon you would have that meal and that would be
- 10:11enough until you fall asleep. But instead of seeing one day, I
- 10:19want you to imagine seeing every day for a month.
- 10:29It may have needed discipline, willpower, conscious intention
- 10:37at one point, but I want you to observe how quickly things
- 10:44became familiar, routine, just how you have breakfast, how you
- 10:55make dinner. And I want you to get a sense
- 11:00then what if that is the real definition of success, to have a
- 11:09week or so where you're not thinking about what you can and
- 11:17what you can't have. You just cook and prepare what's
- 11:21there and it just happens to be proteins and veg that are good
- 11:30for your body, good for your taste buds and the kind of food
- 11:35that flips a switch inside your body, a switch that says if you
- 11:44need energy, just take it from your body fat cells.
- 11:52And as you observe that month of them, two meals a day, walking
- 11:59lots, drinking lots of water, I want you to see that the weight
- 12:09loss was a side effect of you finding a rhythm, a routine.
- 12:16And what you've seen a whole month of you living and eating
- 12:21and even shopping that way. Let me know by nodding your
- 12:23head. Then rewind it not to day one
- 12:30when there was a farce, but to day 2.
- 12:35Step into that version of you and imagine what it would be
- 12:39like to prepare that breakfast, to notice how it filled you up.
- 12:47Tasted good. And then imagine preparing that
- 12:52late afternoon meal and notice this wasn't as challenging as
- 13:02you thought it would be. No cravings, no mood swings.
- 13:09And that tells you that your body likes eating that way.
- 13:16And then jump forward to a week of eating that way.
- 13:22Imagine shopping what you buy, what's in your fridge, what's in
- 13:27your cupboards, but also what you don't buy.
- 13:34That feels empowering. This feels exciting.
- 13:38And then move from the past to the present and imagine your
- 13:48very next meal is one of these healthy paleo meals.
- 13:56You already know the paleo foods.
- 14:00The only question is what kind of meal are you going to prepare
- 14:05next? And create a movie in your mind
- 14:10of preparing that food. You know where the ingredients
- 14:19are. You know how you're preparing.
- 14:24But I want you to imagine, as you imagine preparing the food,
- 14:29it feels exciting and tempting, and you can't wait to make that
- 14:38food. You also can't wait.
- 14:43I give away any food that is no longer for you anymore.
- 14:48I want you to create an image in your mind of the cupboards in
- 14:52the kitchen, the kind of foods that stop you making progress.
- 15:01And just imagine putting that into a big bag, taking it to a
- 15:07food bank, the feeling that this is a win for them and a win for
- 15:12you. Someone out there gets a nice
- 15:16meal and you get the reset you're looking for.
- 15:29And I want you to imagine, imagine what it would be like to
- 15:35set boundaries, that what you eat in your home are these paleo
- 15:40meals, special occasions. You can eat what you want, but
- 15:48only if they're truly special occasions.
- 15:53And I want you to think of those likely special occasions over
- 15:57the next few weeks. Maybe there's one or two that
- 16:00you know are on the horizon, and maybe you eat something
- 16:05differently there. And maybe you have a glass of
- 16:08wine there because it feels different when you know that you
- 16:17can eat whatever you want. You're just choosing to eat this
- 16:22healthy, nutritious food. And any thoughts that come up of
- 16:28foods that you really want that aren't this paleo food, Instead
- 16:34of wanting it now, you can just want it for one of those special
- 16:38occasions. You already know how to
- 16:42procrastinate, so why not procrastinate a desire for
- 16:47certain foods until it's in the kind of place that feels that it
- 16:56aligns with this new way of living and eating.
- 17:02And maybe that's a celebration, or maybe that's a holiday when
- 17:13your unconscious is ready to commit to this way of eating is
- 17:19your default way of eating. Let me know by nodding your
- 17:22head. And I want you to imagine.
- 17:28Imagine a river with four stepping stones.
- 17:33Each stepping stone represents a holiday.
- 17:38I want you to imagine that you don't have to believe that
- 17:42you're going to eat this way forever.
- 17:45You could imagine eating this way until your next holiday.
- 17:53It means it's manageable, achievable.
- 17:59And I want you to imagine each day you have that 11:30
- 18:06breakfast, that early afternoon meal, and then you sleep and you
- 18:12wake up and before long it's just how you eat.
- 18:18Maybe there's a route that you do your 10,000 or so steps a
- 18:22day, but notice how much choice and variety you have within your
- 18:30boundaries. You're having that breakfast,
- 18:34but you decide what protein foods are in that breakfast.
- 18:40You're having that four or five PM meal, but you decide what you
- 18:45cook, how you prepare it, what the ingredients are, and you
- 18:51will be walking 10,000 stamps. But where you're walking, you
- 18:58get to choose. I want you to feel liberated and
- 19:03empowered by this, not restricted.
- 19:10And I want you to get the sense that you've done this every day.
- 19:15And if there's a set back, you just write that off and the very
- 19:20next day start again. And just imagine observing that
- 19:26version of you on the holiday, on that first stepping stone.
- 19:35Baby, you're already looking healthier, leaner, slimmer, and
- 19:43I want you to say that you can enjoy that holiday without it
- 19:46having to reverse. Everything you've done between
- 19:52holidays is about following your habit, your routine, and the
- 20:02holiday itself isn't about making more progress.
- 20:06It's just about protecting the progress you've already made.
- 20:11And then see that when you return from that holiday, you've
- 20:16got weeks to get back into that rhythm, that routine before the
- 20:21next one. But when you observe that
- 20:26version of you on that next holiday, I want you to see
- 20:30yourself smiling more, looking lighter.
- 20:35Maybe you've already dropped her clothing size.
- 20:41And again, how you are on that holiday.
- 20:44It's not a finishing line to binge and gorge.
- 20:50It's a way of enjoying food but protecting all the progress
- 20:54you've already made. A stepping stone is just a reset
- 21:01before you take the next leap and then imagine a few more
- 21:07weeks of more progress. But the progress is on sticking
- 21:14to what works for you. It's the consistency, not the
- 21:18outcome. That's real progress.
- 21:22And I want you to see that even if.
- 21:24There's. Plateaus.
- 21:26You stick with it. Even if there's a set back, you
- 21:30reset, the toes require patience, and your unconscious
- 21:36will give you patience when you need it.
- 21:39And setbacks require perspective.
- 21:43A blip is not a trend unless it gives you permission to do
- 21:49exactly what you don't want to do.
- 21:56And I want you to imagine yourself on the 4th stepping
- 21:58stone that four holidays from now.
- 22:03But I want you to see something different.
- 22:06You are brimming with self-confidence.
- 22:11You're looking slim, healthy. And I want you to see see that
- 22:21you're wearing a particular clothing size that just aligns
- 22:26with that version of you. Clothing size is a reflection of
- 22:32how you live life. Not a goal to get to, but a
- 22:38reflection. And if that feels desirable,
- 22:44aspirational, exciting, but also achievable, almost like because
- 22:53you're doing the right things, it's just inevitable that sooner
- 22:57or later that's how you'll look, that's how you'll be.
- 23:01Just let me know by nodding your head.
- 23:05That's it. And it's time to leave that
- 23:12place, that 4th holiday, and just get a sense that you are
- 23:20unlocking all of the resources, belief systems, and strategies
- 23:25required to empower you to find that rhythm.
- 23:33And you're giving permission to follow something that doesn't
- 23:38need discipline, doesn't need willpower.
- 23:45The only time you'll need discipline is the first day or
- 23:49two after a holiday, but your instinct will be to return back
- 23:56to familiar ways of eating. And maybe you need a bit of
- 24:03willpower the day after a special occasion, and that's
- 24:09fine. Willpower and discipline are
- 24:13good in small doses, but only when they're needed and when you
- 24:19enjoy the food you're eating because it's healthy and
- 24:23nutritious and convenient. You don't need willpower because
- 24:32it's already aligned with who you are and who you're becoming.
- 24:42It feels different when you've got the option without the
- 24:45obligation. And don't be surprised on these
- 24:49holidays, you've got the option to eat whatever you want, but
- 24:56don't be surprised if many meals on those holidays are the food
- 25:01you've gotten used to eating anyway.
- 25:05And that makes a difference. When you've got free reign, when
- 25:10you still choose to, it sends a powerful message to your
- 25:14subconscious mind that you're happy living this way.
- 25:21You like eating this food. This is not a sacrifice.
- 25:28It's a strategy that connects with who you are and how you
- 25:33like to live. And as you hold that thought,
- 25:38it's time to return. Return to the here and the now
- 25:45to take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 25:50nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 25:53wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 25:56here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 26:03you. Starting to count. 123 waking up
- 26:09456 more alert. 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:13Open your eyes. 910 wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
