- 0:03SPEAKER_02: Hello.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: You've reached No Country the Hot Girls Podcast.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: You can't come to the phone right now.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Because we have better things to do.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: I've got a guest.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: She's called Miss Hannigan.
- 0:19SPEAKER_03: I don't know if the cameras can see Miss Hannigan.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: What has she been doing?
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: Tell tell the listeners.
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: She's been desperate to join the your Aussie neighbours leaving party next door.
- 0:31SPEAKER_03: She said she wranged out of their garden.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: She wrote out of their garden.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Fucking hell.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: So bearing in mind, Miss Hannigan has not yet technically been allowed to like venture into the outside world.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: She escaped.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: And not only did she escape, she basically infiltrated the next door neighbour's leaving party that's currently in.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: She literally gate crashed.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: She gatecrashed.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: And then we got a knock on the door of the neighbour manhandling the cat.
- 0:57SPEAKER_03: Delivering the cat.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Delivering the cat being like, here you go.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, escape is a strong word.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: She just jumped up on the fence and went over.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: I know, but she knows that she's not allowed.
- 1:09SPEAKER_03: That's because she's a cheeky old monkey.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: She's a cheeky monkey.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Um okay.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: She is ruining my microphone though, so yeah, Myth Hannigan, stop.
- 1:19SPEAKER_03: Do you know what it is comfy or just chill or just go?
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Yesterday she was lying, she was lying on me, but with her ass in my face.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: So like her actual arsehole was here, and I was like, this isn't chill for either of us.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: Like surely you're not vulnerable like that.
- 1:38SPEAKER_03: Like, surely Miss H like if I were sleeping with my arsehole next to someone's face, I would feel so horrified button as never.
- 1:49SPEAKER_03: So I'm surprised she's not embarrassed by it.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: She doesn't give a shit.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: She's she's pretty free like that.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: Not nice for you though either.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Speaking of free, actually, I know we're jumping straight in here.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: I finally finished the invite.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: It took me three days to get through it.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: Did you feel like you had lots of talking points after?
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: When he said that, I was like, was I supposed to take something really like wisdom away from that?
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: Wisdom wisdom.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: I think that's as it all, to be honest.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: What's the word for it?
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Wise.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: Oh I thought there was a more wisdom y word for wisdom wise.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Um no, I like that word.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: No, I thought that it was okay.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: I thought it was really good, but I and I liked how it was kind of like felt like a bit like a play.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: It was giving play.
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: But um and I thought all the characters were really good.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: I um the only character that I thought wasn't the ideal or wasn't as good as the others was Olivia Wilde's character.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Oh really?
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I thought the act her acting was a bit over the top.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: I know she was meant to be like a front.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: I thought the other three actors was r were really, really good.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: And I feel like her acting was maybe slightly overacted, dare I say.
- 3:04SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
- 3:05SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, but I didn't come away from it being like I would happily watch that again.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, or that or like that.
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: I had like discussion points about it.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was quite depressing.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: It was kind of depressing.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna lie, like it was giving like Woody Allen, but I feel like oh it was alright.
- 3:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Anyway, why are we talking about this?
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: In like quite a sort of like lackluster way.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, because we don't uh what else are we talking about?
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: Well, me and Han, well, I personally had three glasses of wine.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Um had like one.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: So I feel like my energy I started, I tried to, but my debilitating debilitating chronic illnesses have hindered my my wine drinking.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: I was saying to Han, like, I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment, but I'm like in turbo mode.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: Like all I want to do is basically just like continuously smoke cigarettes and drink wine.
- 4:12SPEAKER_03: But you're not in your usual turbo mode where like you actually go out.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: Right, no, it's very it's actually become a bit more unhealthy.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: Just like on my own.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: Turbo mode on your own.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Like turbo mode used to mean like used to text me at like 6 a.m.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: being like got home.
- 4:31SPEAKER_03: Just got home.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Just got home, and now it's like 6 p.m.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Just got home, cracked open a bottle.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: No, okay, just to clarify that is a slight exaggeration.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: But I have just been craving, I think it's because I've been in such a bad mood this week.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: I was telling you, like literally every day at the end of the day, I'm just like, get me a fucking cigarette.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: It's because you're in the corporate world.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm like moonlighting as a corporate girly at the moment.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: It doesn't suit me.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: It doesn't work for me, guys.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: How people do, I don't know.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: The o like in the corporate, can I just say how an I don't sorry, I obviously made such a sorry, you go you go first.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, go you just made such a funny comparison today, but I was like, I'm not gonna push this because she's really hating this job.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: But I was saying how um one of our favourite Paige DeSorbos at Paige DeSorbo from Summer House and Gigby Squad has a um like Gen Z assistant that she always talks about, and she's like following her around everywhere.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: They're in they're saying it like a stunning hotel in Venice.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: I looked it up because it's so amazing.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: It's like 1500 euros a night.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: At like a at Venice Film Festival, and she's and and this assistant is there taking pictures on her Instagram and like gorgeous dresses and all this stuff, and I'm like, and pages like our age, and I'm like, sorry, I would love to work for someone like our age, like who gets to do all that stuff.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then I was saying this to Jules, I was like quite gel of the assistant, and Jules was like, from someone who's picking up after people all day, it's not fun.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: I was like nobody isn't vibe to your London.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: No, but can I just say because like I'm doing like a bit of like temp work at the moment, I feel like maybe I don't want to talk about this because I'm scared that they're gonna like they won't, but anyway.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: Anyway, the point is I think that corporate offices are where people go to like souls go to die.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: It's basically like backrooms, but like all day, every day.
- 6:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but you yeah, I mean people gotta earn a living, you know.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: But it's not, but that is not a way to live, it's not a life, but not everyone can do a podcast, you know?
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Lucrative podcast podcast.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: Anyway, if anyone works in the corporate industries and wants as a sponsor of, we'd happily, happily accept.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: We know your soul's died, but we're happy to take it.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Let's bring it back to life, yeah.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Okay, anyway, you've been at a wedding, how are you?
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: We've missed you.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: We had a bit of a break.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, wedding is good, italy was good, um, yeah, lots of beige food.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: Fantastic.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: And you got a bit of a stomach bug in Florence.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: Stomach bug in Florence, so that was perfect.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: Um, all in all, your classic Italian trip.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: Great.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, actually, this is what I wanted to talk to you about.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: You were saying there's an absolute plague of American tourists.
- 7:33SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, oh my god, the Americans in Italy are something else.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: Um sorry to all our American listeners.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Um it's just like it's honestly relentless out there.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: Just like everywhere they're everywhere.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: I'm really scared that England, they think England's the same.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: Well, apparently there was a recent um study um that showed that like actually American tourism to the UK has gone down by like 20% in the last decade.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because because Trump keeps telling everyone in America that the UK is basically like we're like overridden with crime and everyone's basically getting like mugged on every street corner, and like that's because we have like such a like socialist government, XYZ.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: So the Americans, especially MAGA, think that we're like quite literally it's like anarchy here.
- 8:25SPEAKER_03: That's so funny.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: How funny is that?
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: Um, that's so hilarious because they can just buy guns everywhere.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: I know, right?
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: It's ridiculous.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Well, do you listen to middle brow?
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: That's actually a really big recommendation, it's a really good podcast.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: It's it's like essentially this, actually, but with men.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: Oh that sounds horrible.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: It's these two guys, one's called Dan Rosen, and the other one I can't remember his name.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: But they Dan works in art, I think.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: And um, fuck, I can't remember the other one, but anyway, it's really, really funny.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: They're like talk about like middle brow stuff, so art and like culture, but then also just like taking the piss out of stuff, and they're really funny.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Um, but he did Dan did an Instagram.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: Um, you probably follow him or you've seen his Instagram post because he also does quite a lot of like viral content on there and like kind of taking the piss out of people's houses.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you've seen anyway.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: No, long story short, he did this video that he uploaded yesterday because he and his um co-host are in Lake Como.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: I'm assuming they were like Venice Film Festival or something.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: And he's basically talking about how like I think he was being facetious, but he was saying that like Europe is basically like America's like um playground.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he was like, um, Europeans need to like get over this whole like anger at tourists, like at the end of the day, like you guys are just like a kind of like dying continent, and like you're essentially just a museum now.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: So like be like be grateful that we're even here, like paying your like healthcare.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, is this guy American?
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's American.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: He was I think he was being facetious, but I heard it and I was like, you are the problem, you're part of the closum.
- 10:05SPEAKER_03: It's wild to say loud.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: They just the thing is is like it's just like everywhere you go and like just asking like stupid questions.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Like what?
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: Like just you like you know, questions about food or like just being like sorry, this is also like so not offensive, but just stuff like we were getting a sandwich and like all the Americans got like the turkey sandwich.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: You know, you're I'm like you're in Florence, like have the prosciutto, have the mortgages, like do you know what I mean?
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: It's like why are you getting the turkey sandwich?
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, sliced turkey.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: I'm sure it's delicious, yeah.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: But like, you know?
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: A hundred percent.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: No, no.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: Um, Paige Disorbo did like a post because she's in Venice and she did one Instagram story, and it said it would suck not to be Italian, and I was like, even though you're Italian, like, come babe, come on.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: You're American.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: You're fully American.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: Well, speaking of Americans, I was reading that so in New York.
- 11:07SPEAKER_03: Um there's some journalists, the New York Times.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: I think they've written a book about Trump or something, I can't remember their names, but they also did an article and they basically have coined this phrase for this uh his Trump's executive assistant called Natalie Harp.
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: They've coined they've done named her the human printer.
- 11:27SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 11:28SPEAKER_03: And basically she um and this is because she is his executive assistant, so she like helps him with all his travelling around and all that stuff.
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: She's 35 years old, um, helps him write his truth social posts, like all that kind of stuff.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: Sorry, he has help writing them.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: Yes, he has help writing those full caps.
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: Sorry, she's full caps lock ranch.
- 11:49SPEAKER_03: Sorry, she transcribes them.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: But basically, she's they've these journalists have called her the human printer because she um also a lot of the time carries around a portable mini printer where she prints off live um positive stories and social posts about Trump.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: To show him to show him because he likes to he doesn't like to read things digitally because he's like 90, but also he just likes to read nice about himself.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, listen first of all, kudos to her.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: The fact that she's like transcribing diatribe.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Like, do you remember when he wrote like about Bruce Springsteen?
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: He was like, You're just a dried up old prune.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: She's like and he's like, That prune is in caps, the rest of it lowercase.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: Like, do you know what?
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: She that woman deserves a fucking medal.
- 12:47SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, You're 35, you've got so much of your life to live.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: Like, why are you describing this crazy man?
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: But apparently she's obsessed with him.
- 12:55SPEAKER_03: Like, I think they have quite an unhealthy dynamic, right?
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: So she's like now loyally, like she's so loyal to him, she goes everywhere with him.
- 13:03SPEAKER_03: So she's just like So I think she thinks he's like it's kind of a giving a bit like culty.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: But I'm not gonna lie to you, like if if you said to me that I could have someone following me around printing nice stuff about me, I don't know if I'd say no.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: To be honest, I think I need that.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Like it would actually be quite official, but like Jinana's really cool and fun.
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: I was like, oh my gosh, yeah, thank you so much.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: Do you know what I mean?
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: I know what you mean.
- 13:42SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's defin there's definitely a place for it in the world.
- 13:46SPEAKER_03: For sure.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: It's definitely a job role that I can see coming into the market.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: There's a gap in the market for that.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: Oh gosh.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Um it's just it's just like it's beyond parody.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: Quite lol that he's the only person.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: Well, actually, I'm sure there's plenty of ri huge dictatory type people who have that.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Who have um like fax machines following them?
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: Like, it is quite mad.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: Like, there's hype men and then there's like a human printer.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Oh my, I actually don't even know what to say about that.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't have the words.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I'm too exhausted.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: I'm exhausted.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: Okay, right.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Well, anyway, so he's just he's him.
- 14:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: Anyway, Trump section over.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: Americans say no.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: Anyway, yeah, so but I did see Alexia Umansky in Florence, so that was fun.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Okay, so for anyone who isn't au fay with the Brava's there, this is Kyle Umansky.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Carl Richards.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: Kyle Richards, sorry, of um Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fame, her daughter Alexia, who recently got married.
- 14:58SPEAKER_03: Um so I was obviously thrilled to see a housewife daughter in the flesh.
- 15:04SPEAKER_03: In the wild, yeah.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: Um, and was kind of like trying to take a picture to send to Jules and Maya, um, to which I got no response from either of them.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: I was like, Are they okay?
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: Like everyone on the library.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: So sorry, I don't know why that happened.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: Um, and I was trying to take a picture and Ollie was like, like, why, like, what are you doing?
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: What are you doing?
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: And I was like, shut up, don't be obvious, and you don't know who they are, so just don't worry.
- 15:31SPEAKER_03: And then afterwards I told him it was a real house, and he was like, Oh my god, that's literally your dream.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Thank you so much.
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for supporting me.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: So funny.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: What were they doing?
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: Were they just like they were just crossing, like we were all like just crossing, crossing bridges in Florence.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: Um, but it was like sunset, so it was like really pretty, and there was like a guy playing guitar, and someone actually drove over who had just that they've obviously gotten married, and they were in like a little like Italian vintage car, um, and they were like taking pictures and everyone was like chewing them on the bridge, which was quite cute.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, that is very cute.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: That is very cute.
- 16:05SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, they were just like passing on the bridge.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: What are your thoughts on approaching a celebrity?
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: I would I feel like I would never really do it unless it was someone I was really obsessed with.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: Um I don't think I would ever do it.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: I genuinely don't.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Because I would always want them to think that I wasn't a complete NOAA pest.
- 16:30SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Like I'd rather go up to someone that I didn't give a shit about as much.
- 16:36unknown: Yeah.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Because they wouldn't care what they thought of me.
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: Trying to think if there was anyone that I would say I just have to get a pick with them.
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: Andrew Garfield?
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, maybe.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Um, there must be someone.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: Let me think.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: Who would your person be?
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, honestly, all I can think of is Andrew Garfield, but who else?
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Who else?
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: I don't even think I would.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: I would think I would want Neem to think I was cool.
- 17:05SPEAKER_03: This is the thing if I don't want to go after him and get a picture.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: This is the thing.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: This is what I mean.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: I think like it's so toxic the way that we've grown up because like being keen was uncool.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: So it's like sharing any enthusiasm is like an immediate it.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: And I just wouldn't want him to think like I'm a fan.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: Like I would want him to think I'm my own cool person.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: You're like, I don't even know who you are.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna like look back for 45 minutes and also follow you home.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: And also literally stalk you, I reason's alright, yeah.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, anyway.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't actually know who I do it for.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: I don't think I'd do it for anyone.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: No, because I'd always want them to think I was cool, and that's not cool.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: It's the antithesis.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: That's not cool, is it?
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: No, and you also know that they don't like it, like nine times out of ten, they don't like it.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: So it's like, I'm not gonna ruin your day.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: Oh god.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Anyways, so that's that.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Um, I was telling Han earlier that um the Gen Zs are doing something called stink maxing now.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: If there wasn't like more evidence that society is just like collapsing than I think.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: I thought it was just I I'd heard of it and I thought I had heard it was something to do with pheromones.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: It is to do with pheromones.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: And then you said people drinking their own piss.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: And I was like, that can't, that's not how was that stink maxing?
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: So, okay, let me paint you a picture.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: So the Gen Z, I think it's more of the on the men, the men's side.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: So of course, of course, like who else?
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: Um they have decided, well, do you know actually it was quite interesting?
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: So I was reading this advice article about it, and actually um I do recommend it.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Um, I will put the link somewhere.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: But anyway, apparently it started because social media apps um started cracking down on like explicit content.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: So then people in that like sphere started posting like armpits as like a way of kind of getting round the algorithm block.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: And then that became like that started trending, like sweaty armpits and stuff, and then it just became a trend.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: And then it basically evolved into like Gen Z, particularly like Gen Z men, um, becoming obsessed with this idea of like accentuating their pheromones in order to become like irresistible to women.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: So now it's like this whole TikTok trend where loads of like people are giving advice, obviously, like all completely fucked up and uh completely untrue, that like if you don't like basically shower for three days, then like your pheromones will be or your stink will be like so so pungent, then like the women won't be able to resist you because they'll be like biologically magnetically attractive to you.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: And this is the this is Gen Z.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, obviously.
- 19:58SPEAKER_03: Um I mean that it feels like a symptom of your frontal lobes not diverse, yeah.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: So I'm sure it is, it's definitely that.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: But also the reason why they're drinking Pierce is because again, all of this like false information that's like circulating in the internet, apparently they've been told or they they think that if you drink your own piss, it makes you like flush out your toxins, which like for some reason makes your pheromones smell more.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: But where are they getting this information from?
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: Other people on TikTok.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I guess so.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: They're just like saying it to each other.
- 20:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, I say this with thinking that's crazy isn't the that obviously is crazy, but the whole TikTok thing, like I actually do go to TikTok for my medical advice now.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I think you should stop doing that.
- 20:40SPEAKER_03: No, I know, but sometimes it sometimes it is good to have someone just say these are for more like natural stuff, like not like medication or anything, obviously, but for someone to say, like, oh, this that you know, if you had a UTR or something, these are the like top four supplements I would get, and they tell you it in 20 seconds.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you know what, you're right, because I feel like people have like the like niche advice.
- 21:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like so the thing is it's someone out there is going through the exact same thing as you, yeah, and it's quite comforting and also quite like oh okay, well, actually, it's something helpful for me to try try.
- 21:19SPEAKER_03: But then also it's always like holistic natural stuff though, because I've never known drinking your own piss or eating your own shit.
- 21:25SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, no.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: I hear that's really giving guts for bio.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: I'm actually not even joking.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Apparently, people do that, eat their own shit to try and like get them microbiome like more diapers.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: How much would I have to pay to?
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: I actually don't know.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: A hundred a hundred pounds.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: Two grand?
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: No.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: Oh more.
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: To eat your own shit.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: I would eat my own shit for five grand, I think.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, can you add?
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: I actually can't even imagine putting that in my listen, you would nothing would happen, hopefully.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: It's not what would happen, it's doing it.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: Just wash it down with a bit of water.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: For five grand, I think I I might do it.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: But only only a crumb.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: Crum?
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: What's a poo like?
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Why does he know to have to like crumbling your spoon out like a crumb?
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna like neck the whole thing.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Sorry, I can't.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: I just but no, I probably would do it for 10 grand actually.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: What would be your threshold?
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: I really don't know, George.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: I just think I just think you're pretending it's like 100k, but it would 100% be like three grand.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: I really don't know.
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: I think it might really be.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: Can you imagine if like they all started stink maxing and then there was just like a whole generation of people that just like stuff?
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: Really bad VA.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: And you're like you suddenly got a waft on the tube, and you're like, oh yeah, it's a 21-year-old.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: It's stink maxing.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Also, this article saying that pheromones apparently like no scientist has ever confirmed if pheromones are real.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so they've done like 60 years worth of research and like testing and stuff, and they've never ever been able to like clarif like what's the word, like confirm that they're real.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: The only test that they've done is that women women who sorry, women have done they did like a study where basically they got women to smell like men's t-shirts and their like body odour.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: And women preferred the scent of men, of the men's t-shirts whose DNA was the most different to theirs.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: Uh-oh, that is interesting.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: But what was interesting, mo more interesting, was women on the pill preferred the BO of men's whose DNA was the most similar to theirs.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: Isn't that true?
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: Well that's like people who come off the pill have ended up fancying like completely different people fancy men.
- 24:22SPEAKER_02: Not fancying their husbands or whatever.
- 24:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:24SPEAKER_03: Isn't that crazy?
- 24:25SPEAKER_03: Crazy.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: I do I mean, but there is something like people's smell like people do have smells.
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: So what are those?
- 24:33SPEAKER_03: Just like but do you know what I mean?
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: Like people do have do people do have smells?
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they do.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: So what would those be called?
- 24:44SPEAKER_03: Well, I think it's more just that those are pheromones, but there's just that it's not a baby scientific proven that that's what attracts people.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: I think so, yeah.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: So it's like everyone has their own like unique audio to smell, yeah.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: But it doesn't it doesn't necessarily mean that like someone's gonna be like driven wild by it.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: In fact, they're probably the opposite, repelled.
- 25:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean I d yeah, I can see that.
- 25:07SPEAKER_03: Do you remember those lynx adverts that were like a man would like spray themselves and then like a herd of woman?
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Like like leopards or like tigers, yeah.
- 25:19SPEAKER_03: They were always called something like like yeah, like lynx safari or something.
- 25:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: Lynx.
- 25:27SPEAKER_03: It wasn't linked.
- 25:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Fucking hell, that smell to this day makes me wretch.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so strong.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: They were all so strong, all those scrays.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: Do you remember those?
- 25:38SPEAKER_03: Um were they called like so Charlie or something?
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I don't know.
- 25:43SPEAKER_03: Do you remember what they were called?
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: Like little red tin.
- 25:47SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
- 25:48SPEAKER_03: Do you you remember what?
- 25:49SPEAKER_03: And do you remember Impulse?
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, gross.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: And do you remember Abercrombie Fierce?
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: That to this air I think is really nice.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: It's such a nice one.
- 25:58SPEAKER_03: I actually know someone who still wears their Abercrombie.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: So do I?
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: But every time I smell her, I'm like, I fancy.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's so nice.
- 26:04SPEAKER_03: Well they go, it does actually kind of work.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: I think maybe that must be like some kind of really weird association with like fancying boys as a teenager, and like that smell.
- 26:14SPEAKER_03: And now you smell it and it like makes you think of like I don't know, but I yeah, that's it's definitely like a nostalgia thing, but it also just does smell really nice.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: It really smells nice.
- 26:25SPEAKER_03: It's like kind of musky, but also like fruit like smells like young, yeah.
- 26:30SPEAKER_03: That young and old at the same time.
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: They nailed it.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: They nailed it.
- 26:35SPEAKER_03: There was actually in Florence's the world world's oldest perfume shop.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah?
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: And it was um oh, it was what um you I can't remember why why were we talking about Catherine D'Emici the other day?
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: No, no, I don't.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: We were doing it.
- 26:48SPEAKER_03: Well, we were talking about Yeah, and I don't know why.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: But um Catherine De Medici?
- 26:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:53SPEAKER_03: We were not.
- 26:54SPEAKER_03: No, we were.
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: Okay, that is very weird.
- 26:57SPEAKER_03: I'm pretty sure we know, but apparently she when she married who did she marry.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, we were talking about this.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: But she got the fur like she wanted to smell nice, and so she got like the first ever fragrance set um maybe.
- 27:11SPEAKER_02: Because it because it was like I think I was talking about this on the pod.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: It was it was um being smell being smelling nice was associated with help.
- 27:20SPEAKER_03: Yes, that was it.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: And it was like orange blossom and something.
- 27:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and anyway, so they've got this that's where that sheep because the mid what how'd you say it?
- 27:32SPEAKER_03: The Medici the Medici the Medici They're all over Florida, they basically owned all of Florence.
- 27:37SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: So um so it was like the Medici everywhere you went.
- 27:43SPEAKER_03: Oh my god! And anyway, so there's real perfume shop, and it's from like 1250 something.
- 27:48SPEAKER_03: Wow, yeah, and they have like a it's really beautiful in there.
- 27:52SPEAKER_03: Um I didn't go in there, but like just saw it through like the shop window, but like really like gorgeous wallpaper, like beautiful bottles or stuff.
- 27:59SPEAKER_03: And um, I was reading about it online, and I think they do have a version of like that perfume, and it's like blossom and something.
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, obviously it's like a modern one.
- 28:07SPEAKER_03: That's crazy, didn't it?
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: Did you smell it?
- 28:09SPEAKER_03: No, because it was sharp.
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: It was I could we walk past it by chance, like in the evening.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: And um, that's so interesting.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: I would love to like sniff that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: I really wanted, I was like, damn it, I wish we saw this in the day so that we could have gone in.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, do you remember?
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: So, you know, remember that at the BA they did that um Marie Antoinette exhibition recently.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, when you could sniff that section?
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: Yes, and there was and so it was really weird.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: So they basically there was um a part of the exhibition where they like had like a kind of not a scratch and sniff, but like you could like sniff these, you could just sniff these little portal.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: It was like it's like the most sophisticated, yeah.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: And there was like this is what she would have smelt like, and then it was like this is what her like prison cell would have smelt like.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: Do you remember?
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: And the prison smell one was horrible, it was like piss and like sweat, and it was like really disgusting.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: Like I actually thought I was gonna wretch, and then there was like her perfume.
- 29:01SPEAKER_02: I think it was like Rose.
- 29:03SPEAKER_03: Drew that she would wear rose, yeah.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: That was a really good exhibition.
- 29:08SPEAKER_03: Amazing exhibition.
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: I cued for so long, it was the last day.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: Tried to like three times.
- 29:16SPEAKER_03: Well, I tried to go on a random Tuesday, and I realized that I didn't have a ticket, and I was like, I'll just like buy one there.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: And then I looked online and it was like sold out, and I was like, it kind of sold out every minute of every day.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: Forever.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: Forever.
- 29:30SPEAKER_03: So I called them up, and the guy was like so unhelpful, and he was like, Yep, it's sold out.
- 29:34SPEAKER_03: If you want to buy a ticket, you got a bun membership.
- 29:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I was just how did you get it?
- 29:39SPEAKER_03: I was like, it's Tuesday at 11am.
- 29:41SPEAKER_03: Like, absolutely not um abroad Lizzie's mum's membership.
- 29:46SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 29:46SPEAKER_03: Could you just go in free or for you and membership?
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: I could just go in free, yeah.
- 29:49SPEAKER_03: But I went on the last day, which was stupid, and it was like two argues.
- 29:54SPEAKER_03: But do you remember that?
- 29:55SPEAKER_03: I was like, I have to go see it.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: But what I thought was like really fucking affecting was there was that room, do you remember?
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: That was like her death robe with the locket.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: Her locket with her hair and her son's son's hair.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: Because it was like it was like bright blonde and it was like preserved.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: It was like it was from my head.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was crazy.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: But yeah, because I think like you think about these historical figures, don't you?
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: And they feel like so foreign and like so alien and far away, and actually that made it feel very, very real.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was crazy, yeah.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I actually felt a bit like sad after that.
- 30:28SPEAKER_03: I know, yeah.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Anyway, speaking of exhibitions, and it's we could a little segue that.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know, for once.
- 30:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for once.
- 30:37SPEAKER_03: And I've asked me for segue.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: Anyway, um, well, I've got loads of recommendations.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 30:45SPEAKER_03: Well, first of all, the book club podcasts, yeah, which you reintroduced me to, and honestly, I think it's so good, it's so interesting.
- 30:53SPEAKER_03: I've listened to the Rebecca one that you sent me, so Rebecca by Daphne DeMore.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: I've listened to Lolita, and I've listened to The Secret History.
- 31:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:01SPEAKER_03: And now I'm listening to Accord, Borns and Roses.
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:05SPEAKER_03: So excited for their deep delve into that.
- 31:07SPEAKER_03: Um, but it's basically made me want to reread every book that I'm listening to.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: The Secret History one was so good.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: You listened to that one.
- 31:15SPEAKER_03: I didn't know that she had gone to a college just like that.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:20SPEAKER_03: Anyway, it's really interesting.
- 31:22SPEAKER_03: I don't want to like spoil things.
- 31:23SPEAKER_03: People should go and actually listen to them.
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: Sasha isn't root as um, but it definitely made me want to reread Rebecca and Jamaica Inn and also you said your favourite was Frenchman's Creek.
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: Frenchman's Creek um by Daphne Demore, which is like uh I loved how you described it as a what did you swashbuckle?
- 31:43SPEAKER_02: It's like it's basically romantic, but it's like better written in swashbuckle.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: And I was like, this is right over the street.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: I come shocked that you have to be.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: Would I swoon?
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Of course.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: The guy that the like the fr the guy is the Frenchman, he's French.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's a pirate.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: And he's a French pirate.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: He's a fucking pirate.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: Um, I've never read that one.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: I think I read it like three times as like a 14-year-old.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, so you have to read it, I want to see it's really good.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: Um, and it made me want to read the leader again.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:13SPEAKER_02: I think I only ever read half of Lolita, but I yeah.
- 32:16SPEAKER_02: I remember I don't know if I'd want to read it now.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: I don't know, I just feel like it's like a bit weird.
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: But the whole point of it is that it's weird.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, that was yeah, that is the whole point of it.
- 32:25SPEAKER_03: But it's interesting how they speak about it and how he's like such an unreliable narrator, and how anyway, it's just really interesting.
- 32:33SPEAKER_02: Um Humber Humbert.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Humber Humbert.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: Um but I do I do remember reading it and being like, this is like beautiful beautifully written book.
- 32:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but it is really that you do kind of like the one thing they said in the podcast was like, you know, he and also the narrator is so charming, like manipulating you all the time, and the passages are so like beautifully written that you and but then something really sinister and dark happens, um, because he is literally like grooming and like like molesting this child, and you like like freak out and like stop yourself, and it's like really unsettling.
- 33:12SPEAKER_03: And I actually do remember that happening when I read it, but I've only read it once, so because you're also like you feel like you're what's the word?
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: You're listening.
- 33:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:21SPEAKER_03: It's quite crazy, yeah.
- 33:22SPEAKER_03: It's crazy.
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: Um, but it was interesting hearing about his life because he was like one of his family were like one of the last um what do they call like the Tsars, you know, the Russian like royal uh SARS.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:37SPEAKER_03: And really, yeah, so they were like one of the last families, and it was like in 1917 or something, and basically it all like fell down, the like Empire fell down or whatever, and they all like basically had to like leave Russia and they ended up in like a one-bed flat in London.
- 33:55SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: No, or in Paris, I can't remember which one, but anyway, and apparently they had because they he grew up, Vladimir Nobukov grew up with just like servants and like butlers and just like living like with all that you know, like it was the time of like Fabriga eggs and like everything was intricate and all this kind of stuff, and apparently he he didn't even realize they didn't even realise that life wasn't like that.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's how like privileged and rich they were.
- 34:22SPEAKER_03: So he was like Russian nobility, yeah, and um and anyway, so like went to like living in yeah, other areas of Europe and stuff, and then they finally moved to America, and apparently he used to love like so he did so much research into Lolita by like just riding through like buses, like around um like from like because I think they were in New York, like and they went like upstate and all that stuff, and um just like riding up and down on bus routes, like listening to people from sex speaking and stuff, and a lot of the book is like talking, kind of taking the piss out of the American dream, and that's a lot of like Americanisms, and he did loads of research, like doing road trips, going to motels, because a lot of the book like focuses on like different motels, and it is really interesting.
- 35:06SPEAKER_03: Listen to it.
- 35:07SPEAKER_03: I quite I didn't didn't pick up on any of that when I read it, so I kind of want to reread it and like see what let's see that side of it.
- 35:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that is so interesting.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: Gosh.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 35:19SPEAKER_03: Um kind of went yeah, full circle there.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Taking piss out of America.
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: But it no, it sounded really interesting.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: But anyway, so that and then um I also read a really good book on holiday.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, how did you manage that?
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: Because you were literally at a wedding.
- 35:37SPEAKER_02: Like, when did you have time to read a whole book?
- 35:39SPEAKER_03: It just well, they the wedding started late, so I read a lot in one day.
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: Well, like I said, I just read No.
- 35:45SPEAKER_03: No, I read it over like on the plane and like quit work.
- 35:50SPEAKER_03: Well, you know.
- 35:51SPEAKER_03: I mean uh what can I say?
- 35:53SPEAKER_03: Um called The Wedding People by I've forgotten her name now, Alison Apache or something like that.
- 36:00SPEAKER_03: Um but it was really good and it was about a woman who it was set in at a hotel on Rhode Island.
- 36:07SPEAKER_03: You know, I've been obsessed about the East Coast recidivity upstate.
- 36:13SPEAKER_03: Upstate.
- 36:14SPEAKER_03: Um and she basically books herself in for one night into like this big fancy hotel in Newport in Rhode Island and gets there and um realizes that there that the whole venue's being booked out for a wedding, but somehow she's like randomly got a room there, and the receptionist is like, Oh, that's should have that's not really a that's an error, like the whole thing should have been booked out.
- 36:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but you know, you're here now and you've booked it, so you've paid for it.
- 36:43SPEAKER_03: Um, and anyway, she basically like ends up becoming really involved with the wedding party.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah but you know, and it's like wedding crashes, yeah, kind of, but like she bumps into the bride's and anyway, they have like a conversation, and then like she explains why she's there, and then the bride is like really interesting, but the bride and her basically become like friends, but like through and I don't know how to describe it.
- 37:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's pretty funny.
- 37:10SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'll definitely read that.
- 37:10SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: It's really funny, it's really good, and um yeah, I got it, I got it out from the library.
- 37:17SPEAKER_03: No way, yeah.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: I'm just loving the library.
- 37:20SPEAKER_03: You love the library.
- 37:21SPEAKER_03: Love the library.
- 37:21SPEAKER_03: I sign out to the library everywhere I move, and you just go and you just get a book for free.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: And they always have new stuff, yeah.
- 37:28SPEAKER_03: Or like semi-new, like you know, from like 2025 is like the year that all the books are they obviously have new stuff as well, but um but then it's actually on loan.
- 37:38SPEAKER_03: I feel like I haven't been to a library since I was like 18.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: I just find them so calming, yeah, so calming, yeah, yeah.
- 37:48SPEAKER_02: They do kind of remind me of like when we were at uni.
- 37:50SPEAKER_03: They trigger you a bit.
- 37:51SPEAKER_02: Well, it was just like trying to like basically never doing any work at like uni or like six form or whatever, and just like trying to like basic arriving with full-phase makeup from like flirt with boys.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: Um like if it was-be I wasn't doing that, I was just like in a cubbyhole, like having a panic attack at all.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: I just remember like every time I walked into the library when we were at university, somehow my laptop or my phone, somehow like the music I was listening to would explode out of it, like my headphone.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: Which would have been high and nothing else.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: Or like the strokes or something.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: Literally so impressive.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: And obviously, it's like so cavernous and echoey in it, which is like every like 300 people's heads would just like turn towards you, and you just wanted to like literally die.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: That is honestly the worst.
- 38:42SPEAKER_02: That also reminds me of when our friend, me and our other friend Tink.
- 38:46SPEAKER_02: Me and Tink basically decided when we were revising in the library that we needed some healthy snacks.
- 38:52SPEAKER_02: Do you remember this?
- 38:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:54SPEAKER_02: And so instead of eating like rubbish, we were like, oh, let's get some Nature Valley um oat bars.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: And we were like, oh yeah, these are really healthy, like they're probably like two calories.
- 39:05SPEAKER_02: So we would have, no joke, I think maybe like five each as snacks.
- 39:09SPEAKER_02: Like throughout, like maybe like a three-hour period.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Then we looked at the back one day, we've been doing this for weeks, and I was like, it was like Regina George, I was just getting fatter and fatter.
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: Then we looked at the back of these um nature value bars.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: I think they're like 450 calories each.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: So we were having like double our like daily intake just for our snacks.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: Then having like a dog.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: Was I was we get I get home and have like a chocolate bar for dinner in ridiculous.
- 39:43SPEAKER_03: So stupid.
- 39:45SPEAKER_03: Um, but anyway, and then um there's so much good autumn TV coming up.
- 39:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:51SPEAKER_03: So everyone buckle in.
- 39:53SPEAKER_03: Um there's gonna be a Halloween special of Last One Laughing.
- 39:58SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Um Celebrity Traiters, celebrity traitors lineup is so good.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: It's so good.
- 40:04SPEAKER_03: How the how?
- 40:05SPEAKER_03: Because everyone wants to be on it.
- 40:06SPEAKER_03: Like Richard E.
- 40:07SPEAKER_03: Grant, they're called like actual celebrities.
- 40:09SPEAKER_03: Actual celebrities, um, My Jama, Roma Shranganathan, Rebecca, yeah.
- 40:16SPEAKER_03: Like so many people.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: It's too good.
- 40:18SPEAKER_03: It's honestly too good.
- 40:19SPEAKER_03: The celebrity one are better than the normal one.
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: Um because you see their like kind of slightly fucked up dynamics and they're like all their egos and stuff.
- 40:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:28SPEAKER_03: It's really good.
- 40:29SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: Um, apparently, Pride and Prejudice is some point this autumn as well.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: Do you mean Sense of Sensibility?
- 40:35SPEAKER_03: No, uh Prejudice.
- 40:36SPEAKER_03: You know the Dolly one that Dolly Auditon's writing?
- 40:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, so is Sense of Sensibility another one?
- 40:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's that's a film of Daisia Gajot.
- 40:46SPEAKER_03: That's also that's also out of the end of the one.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: Jane Officen to me is just like all one.
- 40:50SPEAKER_03: I know, they're all yeah, kind of the same.
- 40:52SPEAKER_03: Um and there's that new programme called War with Siena Miller and Dominic West.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: I'm excited for this.
- 40:59SPEAKER_03: Which I'm so excited about because it looks so crashy.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like exactly the last thing she was in.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: Do you remember?
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Who was that?
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: It was the guy in it.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: It wasn't Jude.
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: No, obviously it wasn't Jude Law.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: It wasn't Jude Law.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was with um although it would have been great.
- 41:13SPEAKER_02: Really good.
- 41:13SPEAKER_02: Um, fuck, what was it?
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: Was it Nicole Kidman?
- 41:16SPEAKER_02: And she was her husband was having an affair.
- 41:19SPEAKER_02: But who was Sienna Miller?
- 41:21SPEAKER_02: Maybe she was the one having the affair with the husband.
- 41:23SPEAKER_02: Anyway, that was loaded trash as well, but it was very leak, it was legal.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: Like law-based.
- 41:29SPEAKER_03: And then he killed like was it called like a gentleman no, yeah, something like that.
- 41:34SPEAKER_03: Or something like that.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: It was very helpful.
- 41:37SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 41:38SPEAKER_03: But I think it's Dominic West's like big comeback from being like semi-cancelled after his affair with Lily James.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: His like, what was it?
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: His like little staycation in Rome where they're just like zipping about on the night on the skeeter.
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: Um but because he's just been doing those adverts, those bank adverts.
- 41:55SPEAKER_03: Reach frank adverts.
- 41:56SPEAKER_03: Nat West is something that fair enough.
- 41:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, that probably keeps the bills.
- 42:00SPEAKER_03: For sure, 100%.
- 42:01SPEAKER_03: It definitely does.
- 42:02SPEAKER_02: But there was there's actually been like swarmed his way back in.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: But there's honestly, I don't think he's ever gonna be able to live down that photo, like that press haul of him immediately coming back from Rome, obviously having been rumbled, then like standing outside his cottage with his wife, who looks fucking furious, but is like has her arm around him because obviously she's been like forced into it, and they're like having to like address the fucking photographers.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, oh blah, like poor fucking woman.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: What a shit.
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: Um did Lily J did then did she have an like did she get bad press off that or anything?
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: I don't really remember if she I'm sure she did.
- 42:47SPEAKER_03: She definitely I mean it was she shouldn't have, like it wasn't her fault.
- 42:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he was the one in the wrong.
- 42:52SPEAKER_02: I mean both, but I mean obviously him much more.
- 42:54SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, both, but like, you know, yeah, she's the one that's the one that's married.
- 42:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 100%.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: But um, I do find okay, I don't I don't not like slagging Lily James off at all, but I do find it quite funny because she often posts like thirst traps on her Instagram story.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: Do you see that?
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I'm like, I just know it's a thirst trap, and I kind of am here for it because like she's such like an A-less actress, and she doesn't really need to do thirst traps, but I'm like fair play, we're we're all the same.
- 43:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we're all just girls.
- 43:22SPEAKER_03: We're all just girls.
- 43:23SPEAKER_02: We're all just girls looking for a bit of attention for a bit of attention.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: All we need is a human printer, and we'd all be okay.
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: Human Brindo comments on our birth tracks.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, anyway, so uh you know, good for him back on his feet.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: Back on his feet, yeah.
- 43:43SPEAKER_03: Good for him.
- 43:44SPEAKER_03: Um and there's something else I really wanted to watch, but I can't remember it's slow horses coming back.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: Is it?
- 43:51SPEAKER_02: I still wanted to do his last series.
- 43:53SPEAKER_02: Is it good?
- 43:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I need to watch that.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: There's not you know what?
- 43:57SPEAKER_02: There's no person in the whole world that I find more comforting than River.
- 44:00unknown: I don't know what it is.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: There is something about Jack Lowden in that show.
- 44:04SPEAKER_03: I actually don't know why, because he's like not that comforting as a character.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: No, like he's like manic and also like got like a real anger.
- 44:11SPEAKER_02: And an arsehole.
- 44:12SPEAKER_02: An arsehole.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: But there is something so fucking weirdly grounding and comforting about him, don't you think?
- 44:18SPEAKER_03: No, there isn't.
- 44:19SPEAKER_03: We spoke about this last series was on.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: I think it's maybe because like you just know he's gonna escape everything.
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: And even if he's like in a bad mood, or if he's like, I don't know, he's just like he'll just get on with it.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:30SPEAKER_03: I remember us talking about this because I feel like I remember texting you being like, I mean, it's some other nervous thing I was going through.
- 44:38SPEAKER_03: I like but I was like, the only thing I can watch right now is the slow wall.
- 44:41SPEAKER_03: So then you were like, it's because he's so grounded.
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: I was like, would you write?
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: It's that.
- 44:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that is all it is.
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: I think they've missed a trick not making him James Bond.
- 44:50SPEAKER_02: I know we discussed this.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: Also, can I say as someone who like famously doesn't give a shit about James Bond?
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: For someone who doesn't care you talk about it, no, I know, I know.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: It's some like fascination.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: No, I don't, I don't, it's just that he was in the running, and I'm just like, you know what?
- 45:07SPEAKER_02: Like, you missed trick.
- 45:08SPEAKER_02: Anyway, moving on.
- 45:10SPEAKER_02: I was it just think he's hot.
- 45:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:13SPEAKER_02: Him and Sarge Ronin are like such a cool customer.
- 45:16SPEAKER_02: Such a cool couple.
- 45:17SPEAKER_03: Was it with you that we saw them at the De Beauvoir Arms?
- 45:19SPEAKER_03: Or was I with them?
- 45:21SPEAKER_03: I've never seen them.
- 45:22SPEAKER_03: Well, I saw them with who was who with?
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: I can't remember.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: So we Selena.
- 45:26SPEAKER_02: They were at the De Beauvoir.
- 45:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:28SPEAKER_02: Shit, I'm so jealous.
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:30SPEAKER_02: I saw Olivia Rodrigo then with Louis Partridge.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: R.I.P.
- 45:34SPEAKER_03: But I didn't obviously go up to them because I was like, Yeah.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: Because you didn't want anything you were there.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: Their pint and just whatever.
- 45:43SPEAKER_02: They all live around there.
- 45:44SPEAKER_03: Drinking a Guinness, I think.
- 45:45SPEAKER_02: Josh O'Connor.
- 45:46SPEAKER_03: Actually, Josh O'Connor was um I mean it would be a good place to live if you were a celeb.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: Watch Beauvoir.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:51SPEAKER_02: Well obviously.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 45:53SPEAKER_02: It'd be a good place to live right now as as anyone.
- 45:58SPEAKER_02: That was so brought.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: Sorry, sorry, that was quite aggressive.
- 46:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was.
- 46:02SPEAKER_02: Um, what was I gonna say to you?
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: I oh yeah, I um we were at we were at Cafe Kick last week out um on X and Market and Josh O'Connor was randomly a bar like across the like just across from us.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: Um that Tink said that she because actually Tink technically saw him, but Tink says she thought that he was waiting for someone because he was kind of like perusing the menu and I was like fuck Do love him.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he actually once walked twelve stars at Glastonbury.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: Do you remember?
- 46:34SPEAKER_02: When we were going to that like VIP area and hit he was walking in.
- 46:38SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, do you remember that VIP area?
- 46:41SPEAKER_03: That was it, was that that EE one?
- 46:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was like George used to get us this like for a couple years at Gaso got us this like E VIP wristband thing, and um they had contacts, and um it was quite good.
- 46:57SPEAKER_03: But one one year we just hung out there like the whole time.
- 47:01SPEAKER_03: It was too much, but they had like showers, they had free free booze, you met half stands, free booze, free foods, free shower, the hot showers.
- 47:11SPEAKER_03: This was also like this was also in the days where like we didn't do like boutique or like not boutique, but like glamping the semi-glamping or whatever.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: Used to pay a thousand pounds for.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um, so we were like camping normally and then we'd like go and rush off to this, like like straighten our hair.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like have a hot shower, like have like a fucking Campari's Brit.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it was so you remember was it like we would be like sat on a beanbag?
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there would be like Tilda Swinton.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and like um Dominic Dominic?
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: It was always that kind of act, it was always that kind of humour.
- 47:49SPEAKER_02: It was always it was like Vanessa Kirby before she was like kind of blew up.
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: I always Brooke Beckham without fail.
- 47:57SPEAKER_03: Without fail, without fail.
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: Um and then me and Hannah just kind of like awkwardly sat there, like trying to sort of like talk about them like in a hushed voice, trying to catch like Callum Turner's eye.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: He was there one year.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: Do you remember that's when he had a blot his blonde hair?
- 48:11SPEAKER_02: No, oh god, he looks so fit.
- 48:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was.
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: So one year we spent like way too much time there.
- 48:17SPEAKER_03: Uh Hannah was like, I really think we need to go to the festival more.
- 48:20SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Well, you go ahead then.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: I think that was maybe that was your first year.
- 48:26SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 48:27SPEAKER_02: Um you were like, this isn't a real experience.
- 48:30SPEAKER_02: I was like, well, it's the only experience I want.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: No, that was fine.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: It was a good time.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: One time at Bethlehem, I like took an energy tablet and my dad gave them to me.
- 48:44SPEAKER_03: He gave me these like energy, um, you know like things that like dissolve when you're tough, and he gave them to me, and he was like, You can have them to have energy around the festival.
- 48:54SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Thanks, Dad.
- 48:56SPEAKER_03: Like, this is all I need.
- 48:58SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm I'm I'm all set for the energy.
- 49:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then we all we all had one before we set up on the Friday night, and Jules had one and she got so manic, and we were we never had to be like, you're being really manic.
- 49:10SPEAKER_02: Bearing in mind, like, well, whenever I'm usually manic, you you're quite like nice about it.
- 49:15SPEAKER_02: In that moment, you were like, I think Emma was like, Jules, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but like you're being so manic right now.
- 49:23SPEAKER_02: I just would really like it if you just like relax a little bit.
- 49:27SPEAKER_02: Like that would be really good.
- 49:28SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Oh, why, why, why like what do you think do you think I've been weird?
- 49:32SPEAKER_02: Do you think I'm being weird?
- 49:33SPEAKER_02: She was like, no, no, no, no.
- 49:35SPEAKER_02: You're fine, you're fine.
- 49:38SPEAKER_02: Fucking hell.
- 49:40SPEAKER_02: And then you cried.
- 49:41SPEAKER_02: And then I cried, did I?
- 49:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: And then she moved the last one.
- 49:46SPEAKER_03: I was like, okay, let's have a set down then.
- 49:48SPEAKER_03: This is this is day one.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, anyway, whatever, no one cares.
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: Right, okay, enough's enough.
- 49:56SPEAKER_03: Enough's enough.
- 49:57SPEAKER_03: Bye from you nearly pulled out the wiring and go but just beep.
- 50:02SPEAKER_03: Bye from us.
- 50:03SPEAKER_03: And Miss
