- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:43Hi, it's Adam here, and you're about to listen to a weight loss
- 0:46hypnosis session created for a client that had an addiction to
- 0:52processed foods. Now here's the interesting thing
- 0:54about processed foods is that actually biochemically, they act
- 0:59more like a. Drug than they do a food.
- 1:02And that's partly because of the ingredients.
- 1:05You've got certain very addictive ingredients in
- 1:09processed foods, so the flavorings tend to be very
- 1:12strong and noticeable, and that gets linked to things that quite
- 1:17often have a high glycemic index, so it gives you lots of
- 1:20energy. Very.
- 1:21Very quickly. So things that typically are
- 1:24high glycemic, things like sugar, but also things like
- 1:28flour, for example, things in biscuits and bread.
- 1:32And because the body has evolved to seek out very efficient
- 1:36sources of energy, that becomes something that is desired at a
- 1:41biological level, and that's why it acts more like an addiction.
- 1:45And if you wanted to test whether or not processed foods
- 1:50act more like an addiction, one of the clues to an addiction is
- 1:54getting withdrawals. When you stop.
- 1:56So if you have a lot of sugar or a lot of refined carbohydrates
- 2:02and you just stop that for a few days, don't be surprised if
- 2:05you're tired, cranky, grumpy, and you have those kind of
- 2:10intense kind of cravings, you know, and that element is part
- 2:16of the withdrawal process. It's actually a sign that you're
- 2:20doing something really positive because if you knew someone that
- 2:23was addicted to a very hard drug and they said, right, I'm going
- 2:27to stop doing it, you might say, well, you know, if you start
- 2:30getting withdrawals, that's part of the process of being free.
- 2:33And you'd be absolutely right. And if that's true for a hard
- 2:37drug, that's also true for these processed foods.
- 2:40So this hypnosis session uses some addiction hypnotherapy that
- 2:45normally I would be working with people that are addicted to
- 2:48nicotine or alcohol or marijuana or other things like cocaine,
- 2:54for example. Some of those techniques and
- 2:56modalities are actually used in this session about processed
- 3:00foods. And here's the interesting
- 3:02thing. If you were to look at the data
- 3:04from pretty much any major Health Organization in any
- 3:08developed nation, what you'd find is that more people die of
- 3:13lifestyle diseases, so things like heart attacks and strokes
- 3:18and things like type 2 diabetes than they actually do of drug
- 3:22related deaths. So actually, you could say that
- 3:25processed foods, in terms of the actual impact on human life, are
- 3:31actually more dangerous to some extent.
- 3:33And that's partly because they're culturally accepted.
- 3:36There is this kind of perception of where you just choose to eat
- 3:39that food. There isn't really a discussion
- 3:42about how addictive some of these foods are.
- 3:44And by the way, the food and drink companies absolutely know
- 3:48how addictive these ingredients are because they know that if
- 3:52they can have cheap ingredients that are.
- 3:53Addictive. Then they have a long term
- 3:56customer that's it's in their financial interests to do that.
- 4:01So there is lots of things going on in this particular hypnosis
- 4:04session, but it's designed to be to enable you to break free from
- 4:07an addiction to processed foods. So if you like that idea, then
- 4:11you'll get a lot of value from this particular session.
- 4:15There is actually a download that I have, which is a weight
- 4:18loss hypnosis download, actually a selection of weight loss
- 4:22hypnosis downloads completely free.
- 4:24So if you like this kind of stuff and you want a bit more
- 4:26like it, but without the intro and the outro and the
- 4:28explanation, click the link in the description and you'll get
- 4:31some free downloads all about weight loss just by doing that.
- 4:35For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:38won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:32Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:41slow, long feeling of relaxation.
- 5:45And as you exhale, give yourself permission to release, to
- 5:53release any feelings of stress, worry, or tension.
- 5:57That's it. Feeling like you're drifting to
- 6:00a place where you can relax to a whole new, deeper level.
- 6:08Eyelids feeling heavier, releasing any muscle tension in
- 6:12your jaw. That's it.
- 6:15Even your forehead starts to relax and notice your breathing
- 6:21get deeper all by itself. You don't need to force that
- 6:27deeper breath, just facilitate it.
- 6:32Allow it to happen, breathing in deeper not just from your chest,
- 6:40but all the way down into the diaphragm.
- 6:44And as you exhale, allow that outward breath to carry on a
- 6:53little bit longer, almost like you're blowing out a candle two
- 7:01or three metres away in front of you, emptying your lungs.
- 7:09And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 7:13And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 7:18A wonderful cycle of ever increasing levels of relaxation
- 7:30that's a deeper and deeper relaxed, a wonderful sense of
- 7:40drifting and allow your mind to take you to a wonderful place.
- 7:55And the difference between a memory and your imagination is
- 8:02subtle. Sometimes what you think is a
- 8:07memory is just your imagination recreating a moment as if it's
- 8:19happening again in the present. And I wonder if you could
- 8:27imagine a trail, Not a local trail, but a trail in a
- 8:37different land. Maybe your imagination can think
- 8:43of scenery like mountains, trees.
- 8:53Maybe you could imagine blue skies, the particular look of
- 9:02clouds, the feeling of a breeze. And I wonder if you could
- 9:11imagine what it would feel like to be hiking or walking from an
- 9:20elevated level high up so that you can see perhaps valleys,
- 9:31villages, or towns. I wonder if your imagination can
- 9:39almost feel what it would be like to be looking out over
- 9:47land. Feel a sense of peace and
- 9:54tranquility, a whole new level of calmness.
- 10:04That's it. Allow your body to shift into
- 10:09pure relaxation. There's nothing you need to do
- 10:15right now. Just allow your unconscious to
- 10:19listen. And as you listen, you may
- 10:24notice just how easy it becomes to allow my voice to go with you
- 10:34deeper, deeper inward into the part of you that wants real
- 10:41change. And there's a part of you that
- 10:46knows exactly what to do. I want you to unlock a feeling
- 10:56of pride from the changes that you've already made that have
- 11:04taken your life in wonderful, positive, healthy directions.
- 11:11Sometimes it's easier to continue a journey when you're
- 11:16already on that journey. If you've been hiking for days,
- 11:24it's easier to do day 5 or day six than day one.
- 11:29You are building on the foundations that you have
- 11:33already laid and there is a part of you deep within that already
- 11:42knows how to lose body fat, how to feel healthy, energized and
- 11:50in control. What if you were to think of
- 11:58ultra processed foods as more like a drug than a food?
- 12:06And not a drug like medication used to heal, but a recreational
- 12:14drug where the trade off is temporary pleasure for long term
- 12:22pain. I want you to think of how many
- 12:27people in the world die of drugs like heroin, cocaine, nicotine
- 12:37and alcohol and then start to think of how many people in the
- 12:44world die of obesity related issues.
- 12:50A diet of too much salt, sugar and refined carbohydrates.
- 12:57Millions of people dying every year from heart disease and
- 13:02strokes, diabetes and cancers caused by a diet of ultra high
- 13:13processed foods. What if the real drug epidemic
- 13:23isn't the drug we think of? What if it's a different drug,
- 13:31the drug of processed foods? But you already know this, that
- 13:39some foods aren't really food at all.
- 13:45They are manufactured substances engineered by scientists in
- 13:52laboratories to hit the pleasure centres of a brain, just like a
- 14:00drug. Why would these food companies
- 14:08have so much sugar and salt in foods?
- 14:14Because they are cheap and they are addictive.
- 14:19And the consequence of that cheap, addictive thing is that
- 14:24millions of people die. Processed food is a dangerous
- 14:31drug, a profitable, dangerous drug.
- 14:40A drug that gives a dose of dopamine, a spike of sugar,
- 14:47Addictive. And you know it's addictive
- 14:51because you get withdrawals when you go without, just like you
- 14:56did with a different drug. But like any drug, the cost is
- 15:03high. Temporary pleasure at the
- 15:09expense of long term freedom, health and vitality.
- 15:16I want you to think of an image that comes to mind when you
- 15:20think of a drug addict. Do you see someone bursting with
- 15:28life, confidence and vitality? Or do you see someone?
- 15:38Someone that looks tired and withered and weak?
- 15:46What if these ultra high processed foods act like a
- 15:51parasite on your body's true needs?
- 15:56What if they hijack your hunger and trick your taste buds?
- 16:02Dull your intuition As you imagine yourself out there in
- 16:11nature, feel a connection with something bigger than you.
- 16:20Maybe it's the universe, and maybe it's your intuition, but I
- 16:25want you to feel that you are waking up.
- 16:32I want you to feel an epiphany that you are reclaiming control.
- 16:44I want you to get a sense that these ultra high processed
- 16:47foods, they've been luring you into a trap.
- 16:58If you can get a customer addicted, you have a customer
- 17:01for life. It's profitable to be an addict
- 17:09if you're the one selling the drug.
- 17:13But what if your epiphany is that all along, your unconscious
- 17:21wanted the real need behind that craving?
- 17:29You never wanted these foods. You were trained to become
- 17:33addicted to these processed foods.
- 17:40But you can be free. Any addict can be free.
- 17:49The truth can set you free. Just imagine that each time you
- 17:59see something in a wrapper or a packet or a can or a container,
- 18:07you become vigilant, perhaps even suspicious, a feeling that
- 18:14you don't want to play that game anymore because you know the
- 18:20real cost. Allow that epiphany to ripple to
- 18:28every cell in your body where what you crave now is real food,
- 18:36real nourishment. You crave authenticity.
- 18:44You will no longer tolerate the fabricated, synthesized
- 18:52substitutes of reality. You want the real thing, or
- 18:58nothing at all. I want you to imagine what it
- 19:03would feel like to crave reality, real food.
- 19:14Unlock that part of you that desires fresh.
- 19:20Real food that doesn't need colourings because they're
- 19:25already colourful doesn't need an artificial crunch because
- 19:31they already make that sound. Flavourings don't need to be
- 19:38added because they are bursting with real flavour.
- 19:44You don't need foods with artificial energy because the
- 19:52real energy comes from food powered by sunshine and
- 19:56rainwater. And these real foods aren't just
- 20:02nutrients. The truth Each real food
- 20:09contains information at a cellular level, teaching your
- 20:15body to make subtle changes that awaken new cells and new
- 20:25behaviours. I want you to get a sand.
- 20:31Then each and every time you have real food, you're training
- 20:41your brain and your body to become healthier and happier
- 20:48with a feeling of dopamine that comes from the freedom of
- 20:52breaking those addictions of the past.
- 20:57Every time you eat a proper meal made from real food, your body
- 21:01thanks you, your metabolism awakens, and the cravings for
- 21:10that synthetic substitute reduces because your needs are
- 21:17being met. I want you to think of your
- 21:26ancestors, 10s of thousands of years ago.
- 21:33There were no supermarkets, no cans, no packets.
- 21:39They ate real food. They would hunt, they would
- 21:46gather, they would forage, but they would prepare real meals.
- 21:57I want you to feel that you are awakening your ancestral desires
- 22:01within to have real food. Your ancestors didn't eat
- 22:10breakfast, they didn't need it. They broke their fast at
- 22:18lunchtime and you will desire to do the same.
- 22:29What if by eating 2 meals a day, everything got easier?
- 22:36Everything got simple. You eat when your body is ready
- 22:43and your body adapts to two meals a day.
- 22:49And outside of those two meals, your body is resting,
- 22:52recuperating and if it needs extra energy, it will take it
- 22:57from your body fat cells. Every time you feel a craving
- 23:06and then wait till the next meal time, you will imagine your
- 23:11belly fat converting into energy that your body uses.
- 23:19It feels good to live in a rhythm that supports your goals,
- 23:27but the echoes of cravings will come.
- 23:31But I want you to imagine your cravings like a chess game.
- 23:38Just imagine they make a move, a desire for something sweet or
- 23:44salty or processed. But that move is never random.
- 23:53You can decode the signal behind it.
- 23:55A request. Unleash the grandmaster within
- 24:03you. You don't need to fight the
- 24:07craving. No need for deprivation.
- 24:12You out manoeuvre it. You outplay it.
- 24:20What is this craving really about?
- 24:25Maybe it's a feeling or a taste. But what if you consider your
- 24:32counter move a way of training your brain to adapt, to, build
- 24:39or awaken powerful neural pathways that take your life in
- 24:46a wonderful healthy direction? Just imagine if you were to
- 24:53crave chocolate instead of having that processed chocolate
- 24:58with all of that fat and sugar. Imagine eating high quality high
- 25:05coca solids, dark chocolate rich in antioxidants and serotonin
- 25:11boosting compounds. Your body wants chocolate.
- 25:16Give it real chocolate. But what if it wants something
- 25:21savoury? A salty taste?
- 25:26No need to have those processed snacks.
- 25:31You could have real savoury foods, maybe healthy nuts or a
- 25:41savoury meal. There is.
- 25:46Sodium. Naturally, in certain foods like
- 25:49fish and celery and vegetables, I want you to get a sense that
- 25:58when your cravings make a move, you enjoy playing the game like
- 26:04an Aikido master. You use the cravings energy
- 26:10against itself. No need to fight it, you harness
- 26:16it. Imagine if you were craving
- 26:22carbs like crisps. Maybe it's the crunch or the
- 26:30flavour. You could immediately consider
- 26:33roasted vegetables, air fried sweet potatoes or a crisp salad.
- 26:44A high fibre, a whole food alternative moves and
- 26:52countermoves and each time you'll countermove elegantly
- 26:59outsmarts your opponent, you will feel that you're becoming
- 27:04healthier, happier and freer. A maestro, a master, the
- 27:14grandmaster of your emotions and your body.
- 27:25Each craving becomes an invitation to build a new
- 27:28healthy habit, to become more skillful in meeting your real
- 27:35needs. You don't need to resist or
- 27:39deprive cravings. You translate them, decode them
- 27:45and respond with a masterful countermove.
- 27:52You're no longer a grazer. You are an intentional eater.
- 27:58You prioritise meals over snacks, meals full of nutrients,
- 28:07real foods, pleasurable foods and that time in between
- 28:15enhances the pleasure you will get from those meals.
- 28:22Imagine not eating for a week and having one meal.
- 28:26Would you really choose processed food or would you
- 28:30choose something healthy and delicious?
- 28:36After a week of not eating, that would be the most delicious meal
- 28:39ever. Delay enhances the feeling of
- 28:46deliciousness that you get from that food and those desires to
- 28:53snack fade away. As the withdrawals wear off, it
- 29:00becomes easier and easier to just eat delicious meals and to
- 29:08allow your intuition to guide you as to the kind of food that
- 29:12you would enjoy most. Your body fat then becomes easy
- 29:21to burn. The turn your body fat cells
- 29:25into ketones, ketones into energy.
- 29:30When you train your body to burn fat, it can use your body fat
- 29:36cells as a bank account of energy, withdrawing deposits
- 29:41whenever it desires. Your hunger will go down, your
- 29:45cravings will go down, and you will get leaner and healthier
- 29:51and have more energy. You don't need to exercise all
- 29:56the time, but whenever you do walk or hike or even cycle, just
- 30:04know that you are burning even more body fat with every minute
- 30:10of activity. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 30:15yourself six months or a year from now, Six months or a year
- 30:23of eating real foods, real meals, and maybe you see
- 30:30yourself with a lean, healthy body that reminds you of a
- 30:36younger version of you. And I wonder how confident and
- 30:42proud and healthy that version of you would feel like.
- 30:48So just step into that future version of you, just for a
- 30:51moment, the test drive, this healthy version of you, just to
- 30:56know for sure it's a desirable place to get to.
- 31:07I need to imagine that you're back on that trail out there in
- 31:11nature, but feeling like an epiphany.
- 31:15An idea has taken root that you see everything now through this
- 31:21new lens, and you don't need a willpower to not eat an
- 31:28addictive, dangerous drug because you simply don't want
- 31:34it. You would much rather have real,
- 31:40authentic food powered by sunshine and rainwater.
- 31:46If it's real, you desire it. If it's processed, suddenly it
- 31:52just feels tainted, spoiled, undesirable in some way.
- 31:59But it's time to leave this place, return to the presence
- 32:03and take a deep breath in through your nose and out
- 32:08through your nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 32:12wiggle your toes. Start to connect and calibrate
- 32:14into the here and the now. That's it as I now count from
- 32:201:00 to 10:00 to awaken you. You will awaken feeling
- 32:24resourceful, optimistic, motivated, with a new found
- 32:30sense of clarity as to what you truly desire.
- 32:36Starting to count 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7-8 Open your
- 32:43eyes, open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
