Constance: One morning this past week, I woke up in the morning thinking about all of the things that I needed to do that day.
• 0:40
Constance: I needed to read the chronological Bible that we're reading as a church this year.
• 0:47
Constance: I also have my own personal Bible study that I'm reading.
• 0:52
Constance: I was thinking about work.
• 0:54
Constance: I was thinking about what I needed to do after work.
• 0:57
Constance: And the more I kept thinking about it, I started to get anxious.
• 1:02
Constance: My husband asked me if I wanted to have quiet time.
• 1:06
Constance: And quiet time is something that we do together or alone.
• 1:11
Constance: We read our Bibles and we sit and meditate and then talk about what we sense God is saying to us through his word.
• 1:21
Constance: But that morning, my mind was just busy.
• 1:26
Constance: I had a whole mental list of things that I needed to do.
• 1:29
Constance: And I only had a limited time frame to get this done.
• 1:34
Constance: And I just didn't feel like having quiet time with my husband that day.
• 1:39
Constance: I wanted to have quiet time, but I wanted to do it by myself so I can control my time.
• 1:45
Constance: But what I noticed was I did have quiet time with my husband.
• 1:50
Constance: And within about five minutes of reading the Bible, I noticed that I was calmer and I had a more productive day.
• 2:02
Constance: So the encouragement for you this week can be found in Isaiah chapter 26, verse 3.
• 2:12
Constance: You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.
• 2:21
Constance: And the you is God.
• 2:24
Constance: God will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are on Him.
• 2:30
Constance: And it seems contrary to what you should do, especially when we wake up and we have a list of things that we need to do and we're just thinking about the busyness of our day.
• 2:42
Constance: But God rested on the seventh day as an example to us that we also need rest.
• 2:50
Constance: Physical rest, mental rest, it's important for us to take time to rest.
• 2:57
Constance: When your mind is running before your feet hit the floor, stop, pause, take a moment, and consider that Jesus is our peace.
• 3:09
Constance: Isaiah says that he's our prince of peace.
• 3:14
Constance: And as we keep our mind on Jesus, we are able to experience that peace.
• 3:20
Constance: How do we experience his peace?
• 3:22
Constance: The first thing is we start to have an awareness of God's presence.
• 3:28
Constance: And if you're saved and if you have the Holy Spirit within you, if you're saved, you have his spirit within you, you're already in his presence.
• 3:39
Constance: So as we go throughout our day, keep that awareness that Jesus is present with us.
• 3:48
  Constance: He's in us.
• 3:50
Constance: Another thing you can do to experience God's peace is read the Bible.
• 3:57
Constance: And I try to read the Bible each morning.

Constance: It can be one passage.
• 4:17
Constance: It can even be a verse.
• 4:19
Constance: But take a moment at some point in your day to read the Bible.
• 4:23
