- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Hello, everyone.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: I think everyone's joining into the room.
- 0:10I'm updating all of the settings just to make sure everyone can
- 0:15chat and know they can.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: If you're in here and you want to type in a quick hello and chat,
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: just to let me know who's in the room.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Sometimes that helps.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Today, what we're going to talk about is lead generation.
- 0:32And we're specifically going to talk about why it's important
- 0:36for law firms to
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: always be generating leads,
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: what that looks like,
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: and ultimately,
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: like where you can generate leads.
- 0:46And I feel like there's a lot of misunderstanding about this
- 0:50topic of lead
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: generation,
- 0:51because there's a lot of ways that law firms or any business
- 0:55can generate leads
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: passively,
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: for example,
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: through
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Google search, organic search, or SEO.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: A lot of times,
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: the concept behind SEO is that we publish content and optimize our site.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: So it is on the first page of Google and therefore leads can find us,
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: discover us,
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: come in our funnel that way.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: But for me, that is not lead generation as I would typically describe it.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: And in fact,
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: for me,
- 1:30lead generation is something more specific and actually more
- 1:34akin to what I learned
- 1:35at Great Legal Marketing and through the teachings of Dan
- 1:38Kennedy and famous
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: marketers like that.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: It's direct response marketing,
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: which still to this day,
- 1:45everyone gets excited about direct response marketing because
- 1:48it's trackable.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Usually it's built to help you find the ROI of the ad campaign,
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: but for personal injury and a lot of law firms.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: difficult to get a true ROI calculation on a reasonable timeline.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: We'll talk about that too, maybe.
- 2:03It's not on my list,
- 2:04but we're talking about lead generation and ROI goes hand in
- 2:09hand.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: So we'll definitely get to it.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And we'll also,
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: well,
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: before I get totally off track,
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: let me get back to my outline that I have here,
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: which I definitely need.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: So when I talk to law firms,
- 2:24And a law firm comes to me and says,
- 2:26hi,
- 2:26Tiffany,
- 2:27you're a fractional CMO.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: What can you do for our firm?
- 2:31My primary goal is to help set up the systems and the practices
- 2:38for them to succeed long-term.
- 2:40Because in the current legal marketing landscape,
- 2:44there are a ton,
- 2:45a ton of vendors.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: And it seems like there are more and more each day.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: My inbox is filled with
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: AI agents,
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: effectively,
- 2:54who are negotiating marketing contracts with myself and the
- 2:57business owner.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it takes us a while to find out that they're AI.
- 3:02And maybe if we have a little bit of time later,
- 3:04I'll tell everyone that story.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: But we're seeing all these new vendors crop up.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: And when you ask them what they do, the scope is usually pretty narrow.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: We'll make you some videos.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: We'll make you some images.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: You know, we'll do this.
- 3:19But that's vendors really exist to serve like a niche function
- 3:24within our marketing.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: They do SEO.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: They do PPC.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: They do something with social media.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: And yeah, that will include video content or something to that effect.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: But for me,
- 3:36like what a CMO does or a marketing director or fractional CMO
- 3:40or wherever you sit
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: at your law firm,
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: you know, we're focused on the long-term outcomes.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 3:47the solutions that vendors provide us are incredibly useful and
- 3:51help take a lot of
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: tasks off our plate,
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: particularly if you're a solo marketer or one of a really small team.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: But they can't really supplement what you can provide,
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: which is this long-term forward-thinking picture.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: I showed a muted Alexa.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: into what your law firm is doing.
- 4:10And the best marketers I see really try to set their law firms
- 4:13up for that future success.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: I also see a lot of marketers who the whole system is dependent on them.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: And when they leave, it just kind of falls apart.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: And it's a tough situation to be in.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: But for me,
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: like if we're going to be ethically marketing for businesses,
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: we're setting them up for long term success.
- 4:30And the way I see that all of us can do that is by making sure
- 4:34the law firm is always doing
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: three things.
- 4:39I was going to say one of three things,
- 4:40but you should be doing these three things.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: Authority building, which is effectively raising its brand marketing.
- 4:49I call it authority building because it's easier to stomach and
- 4:51brand marketing has
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: a bad reputation,
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: but it's improving on the EEAT
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: and overall presence of your brand.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: And a lot of times that includes digital PR.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: It includes some,
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: not quite sure how you call it,
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: but optimization of the attorney's personal profiles.
- 5:17And maybe we'll talk about this in another meeting once the
- 5:19results have fully materialized.
- 5:21But very recently I helped one of my clients work towards
- 5:24capturing a Google knowledge panel
- 5:28which actually Lindy Bourgeois informed me of her strategy to
- 5:32do that for Lloyd.
- 5:34And so we implemented it for Jason and maybe share it with you
- 5:37guys in another meeting.
- 5:38But doing things like that helps increase the visibility of the
- 5:44brand overall and
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: the recognition,
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: the repetition,
- 5:47and also includes a bunch of other things like nurturing your
- 5:49client list and
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: nurturing your marketing list.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: And many different things.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: It's very vague,
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: unfortunately,
- 5:57but you should always be working towards enhancing that brand
- 6:02at some level,
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: whatever level you're at,
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: just trying to take the next step at being a bigger brand in the space.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Second thing is referral marketing,
- 6:12which doesn't need as much explanation as brand marketing or
- 6:16authority building.
- 6:17We're nurturing referral sources so we can get more referrals
- 6:21for the law firm.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Pretty straightforward.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: particularly if you've been in legal marketing space for a while,
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: you're familiar a little bit with referral marketing.
- 6:28And then the third is the topic of the call today,
- 6:30which is lead generation.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And lead generation is, as I already said, extremely misunderstood.
- 6:40And a lot of law firms feel like they're doing lead generation
- 6:44when really they're
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: not,
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: i.e.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: the SEO stuff.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: So
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: It's confused a lot with funnels and funnels have a really bad rap,
- 6:54or at least I think they currently have a bad rap because they
- 6:57don't really fit the
- 6:58current model of this omnipresent multi-channel attribution
- 7:04where we have dark
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: social and dark SEO and then ChachiBT.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: So it doesn't,
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 7:12funnels don't fit that traditional model where you funnel
- 7:16people into one end and
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: out comes clients on the other.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: But that's the ideal.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: And that's what we are doing with lead generation.
- 7:24We are creating natural paths for potential clients to find and
- 7:30contact us.
- 7:32And there's some more criteria that it needs to meet for at
- 7:35least me to consider it
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: true lead generation,
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: right?
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And
- 7:40Also lead generation has a bad rap because most lead generation
- 7:44happens on digital
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: marketing channels.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: And that's not to say that's the only type of lead generation you can do.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Whenever people hear lead generation,
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: I feel like most of them think Facebook ads,
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Google PPC,
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: local service ads.
- 8:01All of those we'll talk about at some level in this call
- 8:04because those are all lead generation.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: But lead generation doesn't fall into those buckets only.
- 8:11It's just simply creating paths where enough people see our ad
- 8:17that they are
- 8:18funneled into learning about our business and learning more
- 8:21about our service.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: And it can happen anywhere.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: So before we get into...
- 8:29the more specifics of lead generation before we start talking
- 8:33more about this broad topic.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: There's so much we can go into.
- 8:38Kelly asked in the last meeting if we could go over some of the
- 8:43zaps that I've
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: created,
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: some of the newer ones.
- 8:45And we'll actually talk about a few of those in the meeting
- 8:49because it's a part of
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: lead generation.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: But I did want to share one with you that I recently updated.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: and am starting to see some really good results.
- 8:58And it's something you can rebuild pretty sure using Claude
- 9:02Skills or I'm using
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Zapier and Chachi BT.
- 9:06Depending on what tools you have,
- 9:07there are a number of ways you can build this.
