- 0:05Speaker 1: Appogia production today were to be talking about our favorite quotes.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We are both so massive on quotes. I feel like
- 0:16Speaker 1: they really change our life in a good way and
- 0:18Speaker 1: they really help us through some hard times because it
- 0:21Speaker 1: kind of just gives you something to focus on and
- 0:23Speaker 1: see things from a different perspective.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Or something to relate to.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Like if you're going through something and you read or
- 0:28Speaker 3: find this amazing quote online, you're like, oh wow, someone
- 0:31Speaker 3: else has been through something similar.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, I feel like it always pops up
- 0:34Speaker 1: at the right time, Like I'll read something like we'll
- 0:36Speaker 1: have a scroll and that this quote will pop up
- 0:38Speaker 1: and be like that's exactly how I'm feeling, Like can
- 0:40Speaker 1: validate me and you see me Instagram, thank you so good.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I love it.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I could scroll for hours looking at quote.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I know, all right, haul, I'm interest that you literally
- 0:52Speaker 1: type in like whatever you're wanting to feel or see
- 0:54Speaker 1: or read about, like quotes on anxiety, quotes on self love,
- 0:58Speaker 1: quotes on relationships, whatever, And it's just like Pinterest, babe.
- 1:01Speaker 1: You won't even go on Instagram for quotes again, Yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 1: they go endless and you can be so specific for
- 1:06Speaker 1: what you want.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Well, I need to check that one.
- 1:10Speaker 1: You think you're a quote whole. Now, wait till after Pinterest.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I've already got so many screenshots on my phone.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We obviously always share ones that we love, so we've
- 1:17Speaker 1: jotted down our favorites, but I feel like we want
- 1:19Speaker 1: to talk a little bit more in depth about why
- 1:21Speaker 1: we love them so much. So do you want to
- 1:23Speaker 1: go first with your favorite and why you love it?
- 1:25Speaker 3: I should go with the one that's tattooed on me. Yeah,
- 1:27Speaker 3: that's probably a good starting point, so on my ribs
- 1:29Speaker 3: when I was seventeen. So it is everything happens for
- 1:33Speaker 3: a reason, and I.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Think everyone loves this quote.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I feel like people either love it or they fucking
- 1:37Speaker 2: hate it. So many people like there is not a
- 1:40Speaker 2: reason for it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Everything right, So they have that mindset around it here.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yes, but even though shit things happen and it's not
- 1:46Speaker 3: always fair, I thought, there's always lessons to be learned
- 1:50Speaker 3: and reasons why things do happen. And I was going
- 1:52Speaker 3: through a bit of a difficult time in my life
- 1:53Speaker 3: when I got the tattoo, and before I got the tattoo,
- 1:56Speaker 3: for like six.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Months I actually had I wrote it.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Each letter was a piece of a four paper and
- 2:01Speaker 3: then colored it in and I had it stuck up
- 2:03Speaker 3: above my bed.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It's not a year. Yeah, So I was like, I
- 2:07Speaker 2: think I love it. I think we're always gonna love it.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And I do love the quote.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's such a beautiful quote. It is. I do understand
- 2:12Speaker 1: where people are coming from, though, because sometimes when I
- 2:14Speaker 1: say this on social media, I get a little bit
- 2:17Speaker 1: of a pushback. And I understand, and I always try
- 2:19Speaker 1: to have these conversations and open up and try and
- 2:21Speaker 1: expand their mind. But sometimes when I go deep into
- 2:25Speaker 1: like the rabbit hole of you know, Project Rescue Children,
- 2:27Speaker 1: where kids are getting sold to sex slavery, and sometimes
- 2:31Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't find the gift in this. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I really I cannot find why this is happening for like,
- 2:35Speaker 1: what's the reason here? Stuff like that.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I feel like for most things in your life, you
- 2:40Speaker 2: can kind of relate it back to, you know.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Definitely, that's like it can be triggering because sometimes you
- 2:45Speaker 3: can read it and be like, I'm not ready to
- 2:47Speaker 3: find the gift yet.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm not ready to I'm not there.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so that might be also, but yeah, I completely agree,
- 2:53Speaker 3: and situations it's very hard to find it.
- 2:57Speaker 1: But I still use it as opt to be like, Okay,
- 3:00Speaker 1: how can I help? What can I do to make
- 3:02Speaker 1: the situation better? Like whether it's donate money or spread
- 3:04Speaker 1: a when or whatever, like, yeah, I don't know the
- 3:06Speaker 1: reason why people do this, Well, you do know why
- 3:08Speaker 1: they're doing it money or whatever, but I just think,
- 3:11Speaker 1: how can I help? Like what can I do to
- 3:12Speaker 1: make this a bit better? Yeah?
- 3:14Speaker 3: And I think, like I said, more of like something
- 3:16Speaker 3: that has to relate back to every single thing in
- 3:19Speaker 3: your life. It's just a good rule to live by, yes,
- 3:21Speaker 3: with most things, you know. It's just kind of like
- 3:22Speaker 3: a positive mindset.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yes, definitely. And that leads me on to one of
- 3:26Speaker 1: my favorite ones which I heard Tony Robbins. Is one
- 3:29Speaker 1: of the quotes that just stuck with me, and it
- 3:30Speaker 1: says life happens for you, not to you. I love that.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I just love it so much because we can get
- 3:37Speaker 1: in such a victim mentality of like oh why does
- 3:38Speaker 1: this keep happening to me? But when you switch it
- 3:41Speaker 1: to Okay, life's happening for me, and it's happening for
- 3:44Speaker 1: this reason, to teach me, to level me up, to
- 3:46Speaker 1: help me grow. I haven't learned my lesson last time.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Every time something happens for me, I'm like, Okay, I'm
- 3:51Speaker 1: going to try and see why this is happening. Yeah,
- 3:54Speaker 1: And when you come out the other side and you
- 3:55Speaker 1: have that mindset, you can see why it's happened and
- 3:57Speaker 1: you can be grateful for it, even the really hard,
- 4:00Speaker 1: shitty times. And that's the why I love to live,
- 4:02Speaker 1: because the other option is going into victim mentality. Oh it,
- 4:05Speaker 1: it keeps happening to me. This sucks. My life sucks.
- 4:08Speaker 1: They've got it easier, and I've been there, so I
- 4:09Speaker 1: have compassions to people who in that I've been there,
- 4:12Speaker 1: and it's a horrible place to live emotionally. It's not
- 4:14Speaker 1: the emotional home that you want to live in. So
- 4:17Speaker 1: it's like which one are you going to choose?
- 4:18Speaker 3: And I think it's kind of a cycle, Like I
- 4:20Speaker 3: feel like something happens to us, we go into that
- 4:23Speaker 3: victim mentality, live there for a little while.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But then that's the beautiful thing about.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Trying to find the lesson is that you do turn
- 4:30Speaker 3: your life back around and you try to find the
- 4:31Speaker 3: positives and the silver lining out of being in a
- 4:33Speaker 3: shitty situation or going through something that's been difficult or challenging.
- 4:37Speaker 1: When we talk about emotional home, it's like, yeah, we
- 4:39Speaker 1: visit there, like we sit there for a little bit,
- 4:40Speaker 1: have a little pitty party like this sucks, have a
- 4:42Speaker 1: karate a party, whatever, and it's like, I don't want
- 4:45Speaker 1: to live here.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I struggle, Babe, nearly in a way that it's like bad.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I know.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Over the last couple of years, I've been voice messaging
- 4:52Speaker 3: you and I'm like, I just feel like I keep
- 4:54Speaker 3: going back there, and it is sometimes it's hard. Like
- 4:56Speaker 3: we always say, it's easier to kind of sit in
- 4:58Speaker 3: that place rather than going, Okay, now, I need to
- 5:00Speaker 3: do the work to get out of there.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Do the work, do the inner at work. And there's
- 5:03Speaker 1: the reason why it's called the work is because it
- 5:05Speaker 1: is work. Yeah, it's uncomfortable, comfortable. You have to be
- 5:08Speaker 1: so conscious and aware of your language, how you're showing up.
- 5:11Speaker 1: The story figgers, the triggers the stories that you're telling yourself,
- 5:14Speaker 1: because that becomes your narrative and like you're holding the
- 5:17Speaker 1: pen when you're writing a story, no one else is.
- 5:19Speaker 2: This one was one that really stood out to me
- 5:21Speaker 2: after I had Miller.
- 5:22Speaker 3: So for those of you who don't know, my daughter
- 5:24Speaker 3: was born with a cleft, and it was a really
- 5:25Speaker 3: difficult journey when she was a newborn, we had to
- 5:28Speaker 3: put it in for surgery, and just learning to navigate
- 5:32Speaker 3: the first time being a mum and motherhood and then
- 5:35Speaker 3: having so many challenges thrown in the mix. I feel
- 5:37Speaker 3: like I really struggled and it was one that always
- 5:39Speaker 3: stood out to me after that journey that I went through.
- 5:41Speaker 3: And it goes you grow through what you go through,
- 5:44Speaker 3: but you really do if you lean into it and
- 5:46Speaker 3: you try to find the lesson. That's the only way
- 5:48Speaker 3: you do grow when you come out the other end.
- 5:50Speaker 3: You need to go through hard times to become the
- 5:52Speaker 3: person that you want to be.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yes, Yeah, I.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Love that one. Anyone who hasn't heard that, I feel
- 5:56Speaker 1: like they'll be like, I'm gonna write that down, put
- 5:58Speaker 1: in your notes. I'll go on too. Another one of
- 6:00Speaker 1: my favorites, choose your Heart. Basically, it's like so many
- 6:04Speaker 1: things in life are hard, and I use exercise as
- 6:07Speaker 1: a good example. You know, people say it's really hard
- 6:09Speaker 1: to exercise, it's really hard to eat healthy, it's hard
- 6:11Speaker 1: to get out of bed early, it's hard to get
- 6:13Speaker 1: in a routine, it's hard to join a new gym.
- 6:15Speaker 1: It's hard to be around different people. It's hard not
- 6:17Speaker 1: to compare yourself all that stuff with health and fitness.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But on the flip side, it's also really hard to
- 6:22Speaker 1: be unhealthy. It's also really hard not to have energy.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's also really hard when your kids are wanting you
- 6:27Speaker 1: to run around and you're too tired. It's really hard
- 6:30Speaker 1: to not feel confident in your body and look in
- 6:32Speaker 1: the mirror and feel shit about yourself. Choose your hard
- 6:35Speaker 1: It's one of those hard truths too. It's like, what
- 6:38Speaker 1: hard are you going to choose? I choose to get
- 6:41Speaker 1: up and go to the gym. I choose to work
- 6:42Speaker 1: hard in my body. I choose to make healthy decisions.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I choose all of that. And now it's not hard anymore.
- 6:47Speaker 1: When you're first starting, Yeah, growing and changing, it is
- 6:51Speaker 1: so hard sometimes, but you get to choose which hard
- 6:53Speaker 1: you to have. And I refuse to be on this
- 6:55Speaker 1: hard that like I don't have that energy to run
- 6:57Speaker 1: around after my kids and I don't feel confident within
- 6:59Speaker 1: my body. No, you can apply this to any part
- 7:02Speaker 1: of your life, like growing a business or your relationship.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Like relationship, they're hard. Sometimes it is uncomfortable and hard
- 7:08Speaker 1: to have hard and uncomfortable conversations. Yeah, but it's also
- 7:11Speaker 1: hard to suppress disconnect and like pretend every with each
- 7:14Speaker 1: other and pretend everything's okay. To put on a front
- 7:17Speaker 1: that's really fucking hard and I'm so not available for that. No,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'd rather have the hard conversations and go through that
- 7:22Speaker 1: together and come out the other side one hundred percent.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And I think too sometimes what people can be guilty of.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I even do this is all like want to start something,
- 7:32Speaker 3: and I put in like so much effort and energy,
- 7:33Speaker 3: but all it is is like a tiny change in
- 7:35Speaker 3: each day. It's like, Okay, let's go let's got up
- 7:37Speaker 3: twenty minutes early and go for a twenty minute walk.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Let's spend five minutes.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Clearing out the inbox so I don't get a million
- 7:43Speaker 3: emails at the end of the week that I have to.
- 7:44Speaker 3: It's like again another quote thinking of your future self, yes,
- 7:48Speaker 3: you know, and going back to being like, okay, realistically,
- 7:52Speaker 3: to do all those things that you want to do
- 7:53Speaker 3: in a day, you don't need as much time as
- 7:56Speaker 3: you think to do it. And I think I even
- 7:58Speaker 3: get in my own head sometimes of doing that, I'm like, oh,
- 8:00Speaker 3: I need an hour to go do this, and I'm like,
- 8:02Speaker 3: I can smash it out and get it done in
- 8:04Speaker 3: If you're focusing.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Just on that, you know, one task, one percent.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But you could fall into being a busy mom of
- 8:10Speaker 1: three children, three young children, running multiple businesses. You could
- 8:14Speaker 1: fall into it's too hard to get up early. It's
- 8:16Speaker 1: too hard for me to spend my time with my
- 8:18Speaker 1: kids or do this or do that. But you don't
- 8:20Speaker 1: have that mindset getting up early far out make such
- 8:23Speaker 1: a difference. Yeah. Yeah, if you believe you can or
- 8:27Speaker 1: you believe you can't, you are right, so fucking true.
- 8:31Speaker 1: You are right, sister. Yeah, because your language is so
- 8:34Speaker 1: so powerful. And if you were convinced that you can't
- 8:37Speaker 1: do something, you won't even bother trying. So yeah, you won't,
- 8:40Speaker 1: you won't do not do it.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, But if you think that you're worthy of it,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and you think that you can actually achieve these things.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You're willing to put the work in, like rewind, Like say,
- 8:48Speaker 1: I don't know, five ten years ago, there were so
- 8:50Speaker 1: many things I just believed I couldn't do, so I
- 8:52Speaker 1: wouldn't even try even when it came to like, you know,
- 8:55Speaker 1: my career. I suppose in helping fitness started becoming a
- 8:57Speaker 1: personal trainer, And the reason they even jumped into that
- 9:00Speaker 1: was because I got fired from my job at balley
- 9:01Speaker 1: Girl and Steve was like, you should become a personal trainer.
- 9:04Speaker 1: You're helping me with all these boot camps. The girls
- 9:06Speaker 1: love you like you add this beautiful support, feminine energy
- 9:09Speaker 1: to the group that I don't have. When you make
- 9:12Speaker 1: a great team, like go and do your PT course.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And I was like, I remember looking at him just
- 9:15Speaker 1: being like, are you actually keeping I said to him,
- 9:18Speaker 1: I'm so fucking dumb. There's no way I can pass that.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Oh babe, ask him this so much push And then
- 9:24Speaker 1: I got fired and he's like, what are you gonna
- 9:26Speaker 1: do now? And he'd actually been applying for a government
- 9:28Speaker 1: fund because we couldn't afford for me to do the course.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And I got a government fund to go and do
- 9:32Speaker 1: a PT course. He's like, well, you've got no job,
- 9:34Speaker 1: You've got no money. Fuck, look, cafe, I've got this
- 9:37Speaker 1: government fund. You're going to do the PT course. And
- 9:39Speaker 1: to even get me out the door to like step inside,
- 9:42Speaker 1: I was so nervous. I truly believed that I couldn't
- 9:44Speaker 1: do it. And guess what, I failed three times my
- 9:46Speaker 1: final exams. I failed because I truly believed I couldn't
- 9:48Speaker 1: do it. I just wasn't even trying hard enough because
- 9:50Speaker 1: I was so caught out for my head.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And that's what happened to you.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Kin't of your almost enemy if you like think, oh,
- 9:55Speaker 3: I'm not good enough for this, you don't even give
- 9:56Speaker 3: it the energy that it deserves.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And then I tell you another story that, yeah, you
- 9:59Speaker 1: really like that for me, which was so cool. I
- 10:02Speaker 1: hated Steve at the time for it. But yeah, we
- 10:04Speaker 1: ran this book at Burley and there was a lot
- 10:06Speaker 1: of girls there. Anyways, I was doing something, he was
- 10:09Speaker 1: doing something. We had to meet back there at four
- 10:10Speaker 1: o'clock and he's like called me. He's like, I'm so sorry, babe,
- 10:13Speaker 1: Like I can't make it. You're gonna have to run
- 10:14Speaker 1: the session by yourself.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Oh he knew. I know you do not leave me.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I cannot do this by myself. I'm way too shy,
- 10:21Speaker 1: Like I've never run a group before in my life.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Like even in a P two course they do like
- 10:25Speaker 1: one session on how to run a group training session.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It's not enough. Yeah, and I just like freaked out,
- 10:30Speaker 1: like full panic attack. But I've got all these girls
- 10:32Speaker 1: in front of me, like super eager, like ready to train.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I had to do it. Once I did it, and
- 10:36Speaker 1: he pulls up in his car at the end, I'm like,
- 10:39Speaker 1: outside your comfort zone. You said your car was broken.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Why are you're not here? He's like, no, I just
- 10:44Speaker 1: wanted you to see that you could do this without me.
- 10:46Speaker 1: You don't need me, babe. You are more than capable
- 10:48Speaker 1: on your own. And I'm gonna be here for the
- 10:49Speaker 1: sessions because this is my job and I love doing
- 10:51Speaker 1: this with you, but I needed you to see you
- 10:52Speaker 1: could do it on your own. How beautiful is that?
- 10:55Speaker 2: Wow?
- 10:55Speaker 1: I can't actually do this with myself. And that really
- 10:57Speaker 1: helped me start to change my beliefs of like maybe
- 11:00Speaker 1: I can do stuff. Like I know my stepdad had
- 11:02Speaker 1: a big role in like telling me in my upbringing
- 11:04Speaker 1: that I couldn't do things. But now it's like, I
- 11:06Speaker 1: really believe that if you think you can do something, girl,
- 11:08Speaker 1: you are can one hundred percent do it. You can
- 11:10Speaker 1: do anything you put your mind to. You gotta be
- 11:12Speaker 1: brave though you believe you can't. You're right
