14. Getting out of bed · Just For Today

Jessica Figueroa: Hey listeners, welcome back to just for today. Today we're going to be focusing on getting out of bed when your alarm clock goes off. Some people say when you hit the snooze button, that's the first lie you tell yourself of the day. So in order to avoid lying to ourselves when we start the day, we are going to set our alarm when you go to bed tonight for what time you want to get out of bed. And no matter what, you are just going to turn off that alarm and get out of bed. And if you're using your smartphone, which most of us are, you're going to eliminate the snooze option. That's actually a feature. And this teaches you to get in the habit of doing what you say you're going to do. Which means if you say you're going to get up at 6 30, then tonight when you go to bed, you're going to think about this moment right here. You're going to set your alarm for 6 30. And when it goes off, you are going to get out of bed. And I'm just asking you to do that today. Just for today, I want you to set your alarm tonight when you go to bed and then wake up. Just this once. If you wanna be a perpetual serial snoozer, you can do that after you do it just this once. But just this once, that's what I want you to get done. All right, guys, have a great day.
