- 0:04Welcome to the libido lounge where we focus on all things love, lust, and libido.
- 0:09We believe that fabulous sex is important to health as exercise and good food.
- 0:14Okay, everybody.
- 0:15We're getting into a juicy topic today.
- 0:17We're talking about anal sex as a way of bringing novelty into long term relationships.
- 0:24So anal is a zone that a lot of people are trepidatious about exploring, and there's so
- 0:33many nerve endings, and there can be so much pleasure in this part of the body.
- 0:39And it's a great way of just mixing it up.
- 0:42It's a great way of adding novelty.
- 0:44It's a great way of adding pleasure.
- 0:46And so how do you begin to do this in relationships?
- 0:50So first of all, talk about it outside of the bedroom.
- 0:54Talk about it, the level of interest.
- 0:57Talk about it in a male female hetero relationship.
- 1:00Talk about what it's like for both people to experience anal.
- 1:04I've seen so many couples where the male is very trepidatious about exploring, about having
- 1:11any sort of anal penetration himself.
- 1:14Wherever you are at in this whole conversation, I just hope you keep an open mind.
- 1:19And sometimes a little bit of play there can be a lot of pleasure.
- 1:24So regardless from a female perspective or a male perspective, there's a few things to know.
- 1:32So the first is if you're worried about any sort of grossness about that area, I would
- 1:38definitely always encourage you, whether or not you're worried about it, to do anal play after
- 1:43bathing.
- 1:44Get everything nice and clean.
- 1:46Really make sure that you've had a bowel movement that day.
- 1:49You can also get something called an enema bulb, an anal enema bulb.
- 1:54And this is just a little bulb where it has a stem on it, and the stem acts as almost like a
- 1:59little speculum.
- 2:00You can put a little bit of lube on the speculum, insert it anally, and there's water
- 2:05in the bulb.
- 2:07And that will basically then you just kinda squeeze the bulb that flushes the water up into
- 2:11the rectum, and that will get if there's any other stool, there's anything left over, that
- 2:17will get that out.
- 2:18So from a standpoint then once we've taken cleanliness, you know, into consideration, then
- 2:24the next thing I would encourage you to do is just have a session where you're just playing
- 2:29with, like, that outer tissue.
- 2:32Get some lube.
- 2:32A good silicone based lube is really what's recommended for anal sex.
- 2:37I'm a huge fan of Uber Lube.
- 2:39I will put a link to my shop to get this Uber lube in the show notes.
- 2:44And, essentially, with that, you the silicone is gonna be much more viscous than a water
- 2:50based lube.
- 2:52It's also really important to do this particular play with a somebody that is STI
- 2:59free or that you are, you know, open to taking that risk essentially with because you're not
- 3:05going to want to use condoms for anal play because if a condom comes off and gets stuck up
- 3:11there, you're probably going to the hospital.
- 3:14So you really this is a tends to be more of a condom free zone.
- 3:18And so making sure that you're doing this from a safe sex perspective, testing partners, or
- 3:24doing this in combination of a long term monogamous relationship.
- 3:27That's I I tend to work with people in long term monogamous relationships where that the
- 3:34STI thing is not so much of a of a concern.
- 3:37Right?
- 3:37But the the initial thing to really try oftentimes is just a little bit of lube,
- 3:42silicone lube, and just play with the added tissue, and then just talk about it.
- 3:47Talk about it afterwards.
- 3:48What did you like?
- 3:49What did you not?
- 3:50That feels good.
- 3:51Then you can explore with just a little tiny pinky inserted.
- 3:56And you can slowly that's usually the way to work into this is slowly working your way up
- 4:02from, say, small digits to bigger digits and just communicating about it every time.
- 4:08This is a huge area of a lot of communication.
- 4:12Usually, once you go for, like, full penile penetration into the anus, usually from that
- 4:17standpoint, you want a lot of lube.
- 4:20You wanna be really warmed up.
- 4:21You wanna be gentle, but usually there's, like, an initial slight slide that needs to happen to
- 4:27get the head of the penis into the the rectal canal.
- 4:31And then once that happens, as long as there's enough lube, this can feel incredibly
- 4:36pleasurable.
- 4:37So this is a very different way of playing, I know, for a lot of people, but I'm really
- 4:42working to help you guys have so many different options on novelty.
- 4:46Right?
- 4:46There's so many different ways of creating more unique combinations of pleasure and enjoyment
- 4:52and hotness and sexiness in long term relationships.
- 4:56And the biggest thing is just having some sort of system for not getting in the rut.
- 5:02You know?
- 5:02Think about the the top ones we've talked about.
- 5:05Position, people, things, places.
- 5:08Right?
- 5:09These are the ideas.
- 5:10Right?
- 5:10And with people, I'm not saying that you're bringing another party in or some people do
- 5:14that, but what I'm more suggesting there is, like, role playing.
- 5:17Right?
- 5:18Having fun with that.
- 5:19So we've talked about a lot of this throughout the channel.
- 5:22And I would encourage you at a minimum if you can at the absolute minimum have once a month,
- 5:27switch it up night.
- 5:28You know, where it's like, okay.
- 5:30Once a month, there's a dedicated night to we're gonna actively put effort into trying
- 5:35something new.
- 5:36You know, if you can do that once a week, even better.
- 5:39But at least once a month, some sort of hot, sexy, new, try something new, do research, have
- 5:46a plan, flirt about it in advance.
- 5:48It can do wonders for waking up that dopamine and desire zone.
- 5:52And when you talk about it, you know, beforehand and you talk about it afterwards,
- 5:56what I find is, like, even if it wasn't the most pleasurable thing and even if you're like,
- 6:01hey.
- 6:01I tried that thing, and I don't think I wanna do it again.
- 6:04You know, what that allows is that closeness of connection, of communication, of openness
- 6:10around something vulnerable and being received and talking through.
- 6:14Okay.
- 6:14Well, what is pleasurable?
- 6:15What was not pleasurable?
- 6:16What could we change?
- 6:17Right?
- 6:18So that level of intimate conversation can also be really hot and sexy and really help in those
- 6:24long term relationships.
