- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the Faithful Fitness Podcast for my Dad. Coach
- 0:06Speaker 1: Alex Van Houghten helps you get stronger and mind, body
- 0:09Speaker 1: and spirit. He believes that your body is a temple,
- 0:12Speaker 1: so taking good care of it is an actual worship.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I should know.
- 0:15Speaker 3: I live with.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Him every week. He brings truth from the Bible, took
- 0:19Speaker 1: from science, and stories that will set your heart on fire.
- 0:22Speaker 1: May God bless you to become everything He made you
- 0:25Speaker 1: to be, just one percent better every single day.
- 0:30Speaker 3: If we were to understand that our bodies are truly
- 0:33Speaker 3: the dwelling place where God lives, where God speaks, that
- 0:37Speaker 3: He is encounterable in our body and knowable in our minds,
- 0:41Speaker 3: we would enter every space very differently, and we would
- 0:44Speaker 3: not enter with lack. We would know that we bring
- 0:47Speaker 3: the King of Kings with us. We have something to
- 0:49Speaker 3: offer and to give.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Bring the King of Kings with us.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Then much of what passes for health and fitness in
- 1:04Speaker 4: Christian circles it's far.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Too limited to deal with real pain.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Today we confront shame, trauma and why embodied faith is
- 1:15Speaker 4: not optional for those who say they follow Jesus. I'm
- 1:19Speaker 4: coach Alex Fan Houghton, and this is Faithful Fitness.
- 1:22Speaker 2: What's up, guys.
- 1:23Speaker 5: This is coach Alex Van Houghton on the Faithful Fitness podcast.
- 1:26Speaker 5: I am so so excited about this conversation. And it's
- 1:29Speaker 5: not just because of the coffee. I know you're a
- 1:31Speaker 5: kombucha drinker, but I'm a coffee drinker. And we've got
- 1:35Speaker 5: miss Elisa Keaton from Revelation Wellness, the founder of Revelation
- 1:39Speaker 5: Wellness and also the author of The Body Revelation, which
- 1:41Speaker 5: we'll be talking about a bit today.
- 1:43Speaker 2: What's up girl. Are you having a good Thursday?
- 1:45Speaker 3: This has been fantastic so far. Yeah. I'm still wanting
- 1:48Speaker 3: to jump into your screen and work out in your
- 1:51Speaker 3: gym there. It's just appealing to me. I think the
- 1:53Speaker 3: color blue. It suits you. It's cool on the eyes,
- 1:56Speaker 3: looks great.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Yes, and functional, that's the thing this is not. This
- 1:59Speaker 5: is on a green screen.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I know it kind of looks like it could be
- 2:03Speaker 3: a green screen.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Now it's full of well, sweat here, somebody's sweat here
- 2:07Speaker 5: this morning.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Fantastic, It's practical.
- 2:10Speaker 2: A great, great place to get things done. Alisa.
- 2:13Speaker 5: I want to dive right into our subject matter because
- 2:15Speaker 5: I feel like after reading your book, I feel like
- 2:17Speaker 5: You're the kind of person I could talk to for
- 2:18Speaker 5: a long time, probably while also sweating. But we only
- 2:23Speaker 5: have an hour here, so I want to make sure
- 2:24Speaker 5: we dig into the things that matter most. And first
- 2:27Speaker 5: I just want to dig into an interesting question in
- 2:30Speaker 5: the church. It's not a question a lot of people
- 2:32Speaker 5: are asking, but I want to ask you because it's
- 2:34Speaker 5: pertinent to the rest of our conversation. And that's this,
- 2:38Speaker 5: what what would happen in the world if Christians believe
- 2:42Speaker 5: that God loved their bodies too, not just their souls.
- 2:48Speaker 3: It would change everything. It would change how we show
- 2:52Speaker 3: up in every space we enter. We would actually show
- 2:57Speaker 3: up into space as we enter, present and whole whole
- 3:02Speaker 3: beings walking into every moment in every space. But we
- 3:06Speaker 3: are anxious and worried about many things. We have compartmentalized
- 3:11Speaker 3: and part imparceled our life, and that there's a lot
- 3:15Speaker 3: of reasons for that. Of course, sin is the massive
- 3:17Speaker 3: cause of it. And we can behavior modify and try
- 3:21Speaker 3: to do all the things to feel confident as we
- 3:24Speaker 3: enter spaces, but we need to go on that journey
- 3:27Speaker 3: with the Lord. It's like when I read the scriptures,
- 3:29Speaker 3: I love who Jesus is. I remember once upon a
- 3:31Speaker 3: time reading Scripture in my youth with the Lord, and thinking, guy,
- 3:36Speaker 3: you're so aloof like what you don't seem like, you know,
- 3:40Speaker 3: like the life of the party, Like it's kind of
- 3:42Speaker 3: this this you know, where's all the personality? But I
- 3:45Speaker 3: think he's so confident, he's so he's peace, he's wholeness,
- 3:50Speaker 3: he's the kingdom and manifested in the flesh. And I
- 3:55Speaker 3: think that if we were to understand that our bodies
- 3:58Speaker 3: are truly the dwelling place where God lives, where God speaks,
- 4:02Speaker 3: that He is encounterable in our body and knowable in
- 4:06Speaker 3: our minds, that we would enter every space very differently,
- 4:09Speaker 3: and we would not enter with lack. We would know
- 4:12Speaker 3: that we bring the King of kings with us. We
- 4:15Speaker 3: have something to offer and to give. But if we
- 4:18Speaker 3: don't know that, we enter rooms with shame, and especially
- 4:21Speaker 3: as often as women, we're sizing and comparing and am
- 4:24Speaker 3: I okay here? Am I safe here? And that's probably
- 4:28Speaker 3: why I write the book The Body Revolution, so we
- 4:30Speaker 3: can heal our minds, heal our souls, heal our bodies
- 4:33Speaker 3: and the whole people and change the world.
- 4:37Speaker 5: There's a recurring theme in your book about pain and
- 4:42Speaker 5: pain is a pain is an especially important topic for me.
- 4:45Speaker 5: I am no stranger to pain. I have a genetic
- 4:49Speaker 5: disorder called elers dan los. I wrestle with physical You
- 4:53Speaker 5: talk a lot about different types of pain in here,
- 4:55Speaker 5: but I wrestle with physical pain on a regular basis.
- 4:58Speaker 5: It's a it's a very real thing for me, and
- 5:00Speaker 5: it's it's been real in my life. What's what's interesting
- 5:04Speaker 5: is this when when you're talking about Jesus in the Gospels,
- 5:08Speaker 5: unless you like, really chew on it, unless you really
- 5:11Speaker 5: that that's the we say meditate, that's what we mean.
- 5:15Speaker 5: We're gonna chew on scripture. We're gonna meditate on the
- 5:17Speaker 5: word not clear our mind of things, and good luck
- 5:19Speaker 5: with that, but but we're gonna chew on on what
- 5:23Speaker 5: actually is there. When you chew on scripture, you see
- 5:25Speaker 5: that Jesus brings a presence of peace into every situation,
- 5:31Speaker 5: peace of mind, peace in his body, peace between him
- 5:34Speaker 5: and his father.
- 5:35Speaker 2: He brings a presence of peace.
- 5:38Speaker 5: But if if I don't know that my body is
- 5:44Speaker 5: in relationship to my father in heaven, I can bring
- 5:47Speaker 5: pain with me into every situation, into into every space.
- 5:51Speaker 5: As you said, and So I don't know how how
- 5:55Speaker 5: you feel about this, but I envision a church where
- 5:59Speaker 5: where God is been invited into every body, that his
- 6:03Speaker 5: healing is real and that his goodness is evident, and
- 6:08Speaker 5: there's not a person in the room among the church
- 6:12Speaker 5: who's like, you know, I think God's pretty cool, but
- 6:15Speaker 5: my but my body doesn't quite it's not telling me
- 6:20Speaker 5: the same message.
- 6:21Speaker 2: You know, if it wasn't, if it just.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Wasn't for my body, the way it looks, the way
- 6:25Speaker 5: it feels, the way the way I feel in it,
- 6:27Speaker 5: what I can can or can't do with it, then
- 6:29Speaker 5: then I really understand this God thing, but I don't
- 6:31Speaker 5: quite get it because my body is in the way.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Do you see that vision too, that that's what God
- 6:38Speaker 5: wants for his church?
- 6:39Speaker 3: Yeah? Absolutely, Well, back to the whole person. The thing
- 6:43Speaker 3: we have suffered with for generations is treating our bodies
- 6:47Speaker 3: like an object, treating our bodies as if it's something,
- 6:51Speaker 3: even something that we think we own. I'm going to
- 6:54Speaker 3: push in a little bit here, Alex because often we
- 6:56Speaker 3: even here in the Christian space of health and wellness,
- 6:58Speaker 3: that you know, steward your body, steward your body, yes,
- 7:04Speaker 3: and you steward something you've been given. Like if I've
- 7:08Speaker 3: been given a job, I need to steward my energy
- 7:12Speaker 3: and how I show up. If I've been given a car,
- 7:13Speaker 3: steward it, take care of it, wash it. If I've
- 7:15Speaker 3: been given something, take care of what's been given to you.
- 7:18Speaker 3: But there's a difference our bodies. We don't just have bodies.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I do have a certain measure of agency over my body,
- 7:25Speaker 3: what I choose to put in it, So there is
- 7:27Speaker 3: a sense of stewardship. But personhood is a bigger conversation
- 7:34Speaker 3: than I think the Lord would want to have with us,
- 7:36Speaker 3: because if we treat our body like an object, something
- 7:38Speaker 3: I have, rather than who I am, we are still disintegrated.
- 7:43Speaker 3: We're still left of center of what is a whole
- 7:45Speaker 3: gospel message. Our bodies are not just something we have,
- 7:50Speaker 3: it's who we are. Our body is part of our personhood.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And I can justify that with this statement. If my
- 7:58Speaker 3: body is something I have, how is that truly? Or
- 8:00Speaker 3: my body is who I am? Well, if Christopher West
- 8:03Speaker 3: says this that if you were walking down the street
- 8:06Speaker 3: and somebody came up and punched you in the face,
- 8:09Speaker 3: you would not take them to court for property damage.
- 8:12Speaker 3: You would take them to court for personal assault m hm,
- 8:16Speaker 3: because they personally assaulted who you are as a being, body, soul,
- 8:21Speaker 3: in spirit. That's where I think we just we still
- 8:24Speaker 3: see our bodies as projects to work on things that
- 8:28Speaker 3: I need to steward and take care of, like a
- 8:31Speaker 3: like a mule or a donkey. Where you no, it's
- 8:33Speaker 3: actually who I am. And so if I don't love
- 8:36Speaker 3: my body, I don't really fully love who I am
- 8:39Speaker 3: because I have not had that encounter of the love
- 8:42Speaker 3: of God who loves me through and through and saves
- 8:45Speaker 3: me all the way through.
- 8:47Speaker 5: That's actually a you don't outright say that, or at
- 8:50Speaker 5: least I didn't read that.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Now that was later on. That's for the next book.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It's actually a nice undercurrent.
- 8:55Speaker 5: It's a nice undercurrent, and so it's like it's breathing
- 8:58Speaker 5: into the next book for sure. Yes, I actually I
- 9:00Speaker 5: enjoyed that in near acknowledgements. Thank you Lord for joining
- 9:02Speaker 5: me with this. Let's do it again soon.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 5: But but the uh this I see. I've worked with
- 9:10Speaker 5: clients for many years.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I know you have to.
- 9:12Speaker 5: I've worked with clients in the health and fitness world
- 9:14Speaker 5: for many years.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I see this thing where.
- 9:17Speaker 5: I don't want to claim my body because it's not
- 9:22Speaker 5: in the kind of shape I would like it to
- 9:24Speaker 5: be in almost like almost like a fixer upper house,
- 9:28Speaker 5: you know, like I could live there, but like first
- 9:31Speaker 5: the kitchen needs to be remodeled completely.
- 9:33Speaker 2: The bathrooms are horrible. It's drafting in here.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Everything smells weird, right, And and what what happens in
- 9:39Speaker 5: your book is you actually invite individuals to be a
- 9:43Speaker 5: part and to be who God made them to be.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Instead of trying to fix it.
- 9:50Speaker 5: First man, And I thought that was I thought that
- 9:53Speaker 5: was very I thought you did it masterfully. It took
- 9:56Speaker 5: it took, you know, all all of your pages, but
- 9:58Speaker 5: it was it was well done. It was very well done,
- 10:00Speaker 5: very very redeeming work. And and I think that's that's
- 10:04Speaker 5: core to the issue. You said it really well. Just
- 10:06Speaker 5: now the body is not an object. Yes, steward it
- 10:10Speaker 5: do that right. And and in my my personal journey,
- 10:13Speaker 5: it was actually really helpful for me to want to
- 10:16Speaker 5: be in my body in the process of stewarding. At
- 10:20Speaker 5: a certain point it wasn't a thing to fix anymore.
- 10:22Speaker 5: It was like, oh, this is me, this is what
- 10:23Speaker 5: I get, this is who I am, and what I
- 10:25Speaker 5: get to do and and how I do the things
- 10:27Speaker 5: that I do, and and but but stewardship for me
- 10:31Speaker 5: was the was the I don't know the holy conduit
- 10:34Speaker 5: to get there before, but but I want the I
- 10:39Speaker 5: want the church.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I want the church.
- 10:41Speaker 5: We the church, those who who follow Christ, the bride
- 10:45Speaker 5: of Christ. I want the church to really sink into
- 10:49Speaker 5: that because our body is not a problem to fix.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Definitely came out.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well, Alex, that that comes off of the fact
- 10:57Speaker 3: that for generations we've been pretty silent from a church
- 11:02Speaker 3: perspective about the body. Even you know, if I ask
- 11:07Speaker 3: audiences that I go to, when's the last time you
- 11:09Speaker 3: went to church and you heard a message about your body? Crickets, crickets,
- 11:15Speaker 3: lots of crickets, like they they might refer to a
- 11:18Speaker 3: passage First Corinthian six nineteen. Don't you know their bodies
- 11:21Speaker 3: a tumble holy spirit, you know, you might get them
- 11:24Speaker 3: and if they have been used, they've often been attached
- 11:27Speaker 3: to some diet culture like weight loss or like it's this.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It just it's like putting whitewash paint on a tomb
- 11:35Speaker 3: where we're filled with bones. We got some stuff inside
- 11:38Speaker 3: of us that we have to deal with, so there's
- 11:41Speaker 3: been no rubric for it. So I'm so excited when
- 11:45Speaker 3: I see people like you and other people in podcasts.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I am going onward. They're going after this, and it's
- 11:50Speaker 3: these are early days for us. I believe like this
- 11:52Speaker 3: is fallow ground. Fallow which the word fallow ground biblically
- 11:57Speaker 3: means not dead ground. It's usable unused ground, fallible mean
- 12:02Speaker 3: it's usable, just it hasn't been used. So we're acts
- 12:05Speaker 3: picking away at some hard stuff and it feels like
- 12:09Speaker 3: is this you know, is this going anywhere? But God
- 12:11Speaker 3: is serious about this body, soul, spirit, He has made us.
- 12:15Speaker 3: He loves bodies. And when you talk about people like
- 12:19Speaker 3: I know that's a female story often too for women
- 12:22Speaker 3: like well, my body doesn't it doesn't look like something
- 12:26Speaker 3: that honors God. It actually shows that I've neglected it.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I don't feel like my body has is something that
- 12:32Speaker 3: reflects the glory of God. I always go, Okay, we
- 12:37Speaker 3: need to validate. That feels real because of the the
- 12:42Speaker 3: garbage we have inherited about our body based on what
- 12:45Speaker 3: we can see and how we can control it and
- 12:47Speaker 3: make it look and so you know, there is no
- 12:50Speaker 3: greater trauma to me I think than a person who
- 12:54Speaker 3: feels like their body doesn't belong in any space they
- 12:58Speaker 3: walk into. That means where wherever I go, there I
- 13:00Speaker 3: am and if I am not safe in this place
- 13:03Speaker 3: to be me because you know, often people who are
- 13:06Speaker 3: overweight say that they are two things at the same time.
- 13:11Speaker 3: They're completely invisible. Nobody sees them or everybody sees them.
- 13:17Speaker 3: It's happening at the same time. So the shame of
- 13:20Speaker 3: not having their body be what it needs to be.
- 13:22Speaker 3: But again, shame is the root of that, and I
- 13:27Speaker 3: often to try to cut to the chase. I heard
- 13:29Speaker 3: this story the other day and I thought, wow, that
- 13:30Speaker 3: is a wake up call for all of us. A
- 13:32Speaker 3: woman was sharing how her mother gave her the greatest
- 13:36Speaker 3: gift for her body image that changed everything. She said,
- 13:39Speaker 3: her mother was dying of cancer, and you know, she'd
- 13:43Speaker 3: walk that road with her, and they were at the
- 13:45Speaker 3: mall and her mom had sit down to take a
- 13:47Speaker 3: break and they were cherishing every moment together because the
- 13:50Speaker 3: mom was kind of getting towards the end but hanging
- 13:52Speaker 3: in there for life with her to be here. And
- 13:55Speaker 3: she said she'd left. Her mom was sitting there having
- 13:58Speaker 3: a drink. She left to go somewhere, And when she
- 14:00Speaker 3: came back, her mom was tearing, had tears rolling down
- 14:04Speaker 3: her face. She said, Mom, what happened? She said, Well,
- 14:06Speaker 3: while you were gone, there was a mother and a daughter.
- 14:09Speaker 3: They were reading greeting cards or something, and they started
- 14:13Speaker 3: talking about their bodies and how man they really need
- 14:16Speaker 3: to lose weight, and just negatively talking and picking their
- 14:20Speaker 3: bodies apart. And she looked at her daughter with tears
- 14:23Speaker 3: in her eyes and said, I would give anything right
- 14:26Speaker 3: now for anybody, big, small, dark, light, short, tall hair,
- 14:34Speaker 3: no hair. I would give anything for anybody that I
- 14:38Speaker 3: could have if it kept me here longer with you.
- 14:44Speaker 3: That is perspective which takes me to a key statement
- 14:47Speaker 3: of revelation. While and so that we believe our body
- 14:50Speaker 3: is for ability, not vanity. So if you look at
- 14:54Speaker 3: it and it's not enough for you, there's a van
- 14:57Speaker 3: there's something there that it's looking at the wrong thing. Now,
- 15:02Speaker 3: God is for our ability. What can my body do?
- 15:05Speaker 3: And so if you are breathing today, if you are upright,
- 15:08Speaker 3: if you can make sense of my gobblygook, your brain
- 15:11Speaker 3: is working, you are, you are blessed. And from that
- 15:15Speaker 3: foundation we can rebuild health for ability, not vanity.
- 15:22Speaker 5: Well said, Well said, And I want to I want
- 15:24Speaker 5: to continue on that vein because you founded Revelation Wellness
- 15:27Speaker 5: a while ago, and I want to talk a bit
- 15:30Speaker 5: about what that came out of. It sounds like it
- 15:34Speaker 5: sounds to me, and you can tell the story better
- 15:36Speaker 5: than I do, because I've only got the pieces from
- 15:39Speaker 5: your book and from your bio, But it sounds to
- 15:41Speaker 5: me like you had You had a history of fitness
- 15:48Speaker 5: and also a history of wanting to follow Jesus, and
- 15:54Speaker 5: those two things.
- 15:56Speaker 2: God brought those together and you in a.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Way that that led you and healed you and grew you,
- 16:04Speaker 5: but also gave you a mission. And I feel like
- 16:09Speaker 5: we get to have this conversation today in part because
- 16:12Speaker 5: God did something similar in me. But I'm I'm like,
- 16:17Speaker 5: I'm years behind you in this. We actually launched Faithful
- 16:21Speaker 5: Fitness in May of this year. I've been a trainer
- 16:23Speaker 5: for twenty years, but we launched Faithful Fitness in May
- 16:26Speaker 5: of this year, and since May of this year, we
- 16:29Speaker 5: have twenty thousand subscribers. This is like people are picking
- 16:32Speaker 5: up what we're putting down in the podcast world. We're
- 16:35Speaker 5: publishing the devotional like it it's really taking off. But
- 16:39Speaker 5: what's really really cool about this is twelve of our
- 16:43Speaker 5: thirty three episodes feature fruit from your ministry, so health coaches, instructors,
- 16:51Speaker 5: we got to talk to wes, you know, like that
- 16:55Speaker 5: you have. I remember I remember going through this with
- 16:57Speaker 5: my ADMIN and don't cram, all right, Lisa, But I
- 17:01Speaker 5: was going with my advent. We were looking for individuals
- 17:04Speaker 5: to have this conversation about faith and fitness with because
- 17:07Speaker 5: I have hundreds of podcast episodes of me talking in
- 17:10Speaker 5: my closet about nutrition and exercise and stuff I love
- 17:14Speaker 5: to teach.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But but I wanted.
- 17:16Speaker 5: To have these conversations to show that it's not just
- 17:20Speaker 5: God working in me. God is doing something in the
- 17:24Speaker 5: wider world to help his children understand what their bodies
- 17:28Speaker 5: have to do with their.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Walk with Christ.
- 17:31Speaker 5: And what was crazy is is I started looking around
- 17:35Speaker 5: and I kept seeing revelation wellness everywhere, like it seemed
- 17:39Speaker 5: like it seemed like what you guys are doing was
- 17:41Speaker 5: like a big shining beacon in the health and fitness
- 17:45Speaker 5: space of like Jesus.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Loves you and wants you to tell it how to
- 17:49Speaker 2: love your body.
- 17:50Speaker 5: And it was like, wow, I need to talk to
- 17:51Speaker 5: these people because they get it, and so and so
- 17:55Speaker 5: I just want to say one thank you, Like you said,
- 17:58Speaker 5: it's fail ground. You've been swinging that pickaxe for a
- 18:01Speaker 5: while bearing fruit Chica.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Like it's God, Jeff, thank God. Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 5: But also you're not done. Obviously there's stuff going on.
- 18:10Speaker 5: So how did this whole thing get started? In how
- 18:13Speaker 5: do people get involved and get connected to the good
- 18:16Speaker 5: work God's doing in revelationships?
- 18:19Speaker 3: Well, that I started goes back to literally, you know
- 18:24Speaker 3: what the Bible says, the Lord chooses the times and
- 18:26Speaker 3: places for people to be born. That's like an Acts
- 18:28Speaker 3: two or four. He chooses the times and place. There
- 18:30Speaker 3: is no mistake about who you are where you're born.
- 18:33Speaker 3: He's so specific. Well, I was born in a time
- 18:36Speaker 3: that would make me fourteen years old when I took
- 18:39Speaker 3: my first aerobics class in nineteen eighty five. Nineteen eighty five,
- 18:44Speaker 3: How where were you in nineteen eighty five, Alex.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I was a gleam in my father's eye.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Okay, I was fourteen years old, and I was a
- 18:53Speaker 3: wreck of a girl from a dysfunctional home, and I
- 18:56Speaker 3: took an aerobics class. Something happened to me in that
- 19:00Speaker 3: I literally I encountered. God, I didn't know it then,
- 19:03Speaker 3: but I laid there in the cool down, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 3: and this was aerobics when there were no rules. We
- 19:09Speaker 3: just bounced and bopped around to a record player, Alex.
- 19:13Speaker 3: It was a record player that's right over in the
- 19:16Speaker 3: corner of the room. It even skipped because we would
- 19:19Speaker 3: shake the floor so much the record would jump the needle.
- 19:21Speaker 3: And so I took that class, though, and man, I
- 19:24Speaker 3: laid there in the cool down and I had tears
- 19:27Speaker 3: just kind of streaming from my eyes of an overwhelming
- 19:31Speaker 3: I get teared up every time, an overwhelming presence of warmth.
- 19:38Speaker 3: And then this I had, this thought wasn't my own.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Because I'm fourteen years old and living in a very
- 19:43Speaker 3: dysfunctional home. I've got a lot of anger and pessimism
- 19:46Speaker 3: in me, and I had this thought, everything's gonna be
- 19:50Speaker 3: all right. And then the next thought felt like my
- 19:54Speaker 3: own was whatever that lady just did the leave the instructor,
- 19:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna learn to do that.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Do that.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to orchestrate that. I want to create
- 20:03Speaker 3: that for other people. And so I fast forward into
- 20:06Speaker 3: health and fitness like I was fourteen, fell into it,
- 20:08Speaker 3: did a lot it became an idol for me. Did
- 20:11Speaker 3: fitness competing like you know, the whole nineteen eighties, nineteen nineties,
- 20:14Speaker 3: everyone's doing fitness competitions and I've got awards and never
- 20:18Speaker 3: won first place. Because I think that was the Lord's
- 20:21Speaker 3: mercy on my life that it just wasn't for me,
- 20:24Speaker 3: and I had a sense I need to get out
- 20:26Speaker 3: of this world. It's not healthy. I think there was
- 20:28Speaker 3: eating disorders waiting for me there. So I exited the
- 20:32Speaker 3: competition stage. But I always loved working with people and
- 20:35Speaker 3: helping them improve their health. I loved it. It was fun,
- 20:39Speaker 3: it's creativity and okay, let's try this and various things.
- 20:44Speaker 3: But I always noticed the same pattern emerging with all
- 20:48Speaker 3: my clients as I worked with them from the nineties
- 20:50Speaker 3: through the early two thousands, that two things were prone
- 20:55Speaker 3: to happen. That people would start on their health journey,
- 20:59Speaker 3: and then they would get some goals, and then they
- 21:02Speaker 3: would become obsessive. They would it was never enough. We've
- 21:05Speaker 3: got to do more. We got to fix this. What
- 21:07Speaker 3: about this? They could pitch it, Yeah, we got to
- 21:10Speaker 3: get more six packs. I mean, it was all change this,
- 21:13Speaker 3: change this, And so I would be turning dials and
- 21:16Speaker 3: trying to fix the things they wanted that just felt
- 21:18Speaker 3: like this is fruitless. The other one, the other road
- 21:21Speaker 3: people would take is they would start out on their
- 21:23Speaker 3: health journey and something would happen some step back. Sometimes
- 21:28Speaker 3: kids get sick, they'd lose a job, or they just
- 21:31Speaker 3: would stop showing up and they would fall into a
- 21:33Speaker 3: pattern of neglect. They would not come to their sessions,
- 21:37Speaker 3: hide from me at the grocery stores. And I was like,
- 21:39Speaker 3: what is going on here? And I knew there had
- 21:42Speaker 3: to be more. I knew there just had to be
- 21:44Speaker 3: more than this endless cycle of obsession or neglect. There
- 21:48Speaker 3: had to be a freeway, literally, a freeway through That
- 21:51Speaker 3: was a word freedom that kept coming to me. And
- 21:53Speaker 3: this was before I was really walking with Christ. Well,
- 21:56Speaker 3: then I entered Christ centers my life because my life
- 21:59Speaker 3: looked good on the outset side, like I had the
- 22:01Speaker 3: awards I had, I was making more money than my friends,
- 22:04Speaker 3: out of heights, out of college, I had a line
- 22:07Speaker 3: of people wanting to train with me. Everything on the
- 22:11Speaker 3: outside looked good, but inside was I was. I was
- 22:17Speaker 3: not settled. I felt unloved. I needed my husband to
- 22:22Speaker 3: be my God like I didn't know that at that time,
- 22:24Speaker 3: but he was never going to be enough for me.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Nothing could be enough for me. There was a hole
- 22:28Speaker 3: in me. So I hear the gospel. One day, A
- 22:31Speaker 3: friend invites me from the gym, invites me to go
- 22:34Speaker 3: to church. I eventually go. Now I would have called
- 22:37Speaker 3: myself a Christian prior to this, but I heard the
- 22:41Speaker 3: Gospel that day because my heart was ready for it,
- 22:43Speaker 3: like there is something aching in me for more. And
- 22:47Speaker 3: I received the Gospel that I like, I was it.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I was like it made sense to me. Everything just
- 22:51Speaker 3: clicked and I re raised my hand and committed my
- 22:54Speaker 3: life to Christ that day. And then, honestly, Alex, it's
- 22:58Speaker 3: crazy how after that I go back to work and
- 23:02Speaker 3: I can't see anything the same anymore. Like I couldn't
- 23:05Speaker 3: see my clients the same in terms of wait, they
- 23:07Speaker 3: don't really want Yeah, they want ten pounds of weightless.
- 23:12Speaker 3: I think they need the Gospel. I mean, I think
- 23:14Speaker 3: they need the Gospel. Yeah, Like I just knew I
- 23:17Speaker 3: am not giving them the full meal here, I am
- 23:19Speaker 3: just taking money from them. There's more. And so that's
- 23:24Speaker 3: when I started seeking the Lord, and he just like
- 23:28Speaker 3: writing things down in my first book, the wellness revelation.
- 23:32Speaker 3: That curriculum started to burthen me. Anyway, as I started
- 23:35Speaker 3: to do it, people started to respond, and I was afraid.
- 23:39Speaker 3: And I'll tell you this story, Alex. I think it's
- 23:41Speaker 3: a good one for people listening in, for all those
- 23:43Speaker 3: who are now coming and doing this. I remember being
- 23:48Speaker 3: afraid to do it, like, what are people going to
- 23:51Speaker 3: think of me? This is weird? Is you know?
- 23:54Speaker 1: This?
- 23:55Speaker 3: Is this really gonna be something? But he would keep
- 23:59Speaker 3: giving me visions of people embodied alive, enjoying their life
- 24:05Speaker 3: and like in their bodies, back to whole person health.
- 24:10Speaker 3: But I was afraid of what people would think. And
- 24:12Speaker 3: I'm not a writer. I don't know what do you
- 24:14Speaker 3: want me to do? I've you know, all these things.
- 24:17Speaker 3: And then one day I had this this thought or
- 24:20Speaker 3: a voye, felt like a voice inside of me, and
- 24:22Speaker 3: it said, Elisa, I'm going to do this on the earth.
- 24:26Speaker 3: You can come now or you can come later, but
- 24:31Speaker 3: I am doing this. It was like a loving father's
- 24:34Speaker 3: correction of I'm not going to keep waiting on you.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I'm going to keep loving you, but I want to
- 24:39Speaker 3: do this with you. Do you want to do it
- 24:41Speaker 3: with me? And I just like it was a holy
- 24:45Speaker 3: discontent of like, I gotta go with him. I don't
- 24:48Speaker 3: know where I'm going, I don't know what it's going
- 24:50Speaker 3: to look like, but I okay, it's yes, and.
- 24:53Speaker 2: So can it not into this?
- 24:56Speaker 3: I cannot. I think he also knew that he was
- 24:59Speaker 3: calling the right girl because I like a challenge like impossible.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You say, all right, you tell me not to do it.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Oh, And honestly, that's a little bit of my story,
- 25:09Speaker 3: some of my stories, my husband and other people who
- 25:12Speaker 3: didn't believe in me. At that time, I was a
- 25:15Speaker 3: little bit like watch me, watch watch him do it,
- 25:19Speaker 3: watch me watch us go and so.
- 25:21Speaker 2: The perfect vessel because nobody believes this can happen.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Nobody believes it can happen. So as I was doing it,
- 25:27Speaker 3: God was blessing it. And then I realized my classes
- 25:32Speaker 3: were too big. Literally I couldn't hold people in the classes.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I could only work with so many clients at one time,
- 25:40Speaker 3: and I thought, I think I'm supposed to disciple other
- 25:43Speaker 3: people in this That just seems like the right thing
- 25:45Speaker 3: to do is let me teach other teachers who teach others. Yes,
- 25:49Speaker 3: And that's when twenty eleven Revelation wellness was born and
- 25:52Speaker 3: it is all based on this biblical understanding of whole
- 25:58Speaker 3: person health to stop obsessing and neglecting of our bodies
- 26:02Speaker 3: and live healthy and whole lives in Christ.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Yes, and and that that message was I've I've gotten
- 26:07Speaker 5: to work with a lot of certifying bodies, okay. And
- 26:11Speaker 5: and what's interesting in the health and fitness world is
- 26:13Speaker 5: everybody's got some kind of philosophy or guru they follow
- 26:16Speaker 5: or whatever. I've had the opportunity to spend time with
- 26:20Speaker 5: with twelve of your people. I hope to continue getting
- 26:23Speaker 5: to spend time with with more individuals from Revelation Wellness
- 26:27Speaker 5: on this podcast. The it's obvious that this isn't a
- 26:32Speaker 5: Lisa Keaton. It's obvious that it's the Holy Spirit. It's
- 26:36Speaker 5: obvious that that the that it's not like a fitness
- 26:40Speaker 5: guru telling people what to do. And they're like, oh, man, Alisa,
- 26:43Speaker 5: she really knows her stuff. And no offense a Lisa,
- 26:45Speaker 5: I'm sure you know your stuff. But it's obvious that
- 26:47Speaker 5: that God has an agenda for the body and that
- 26:52Speaker 5: that that message is is well, it's uniform, it's it's.
- 26:57Speaker 2: True across the board.
- 26:59Speaker 5: It's not a bunch of arguing and bickering about calories
- 27:02Speaker 5: and whether or not carbs with bats are better fuel
- 27:05Speaker 5: sources and stuff. It's it's actually, it's actually an unvain
- 27:10Speaker 5: and God centered approach to reclaiming this territory.
- 27:14Speaker 2: So for me to you, thank you for the hard
- 27:16Speaker 2: work on that front.
- 27:18Speaker 5: And and I want to move on to a to
- 27:21Speaker 5: a subject that you brought in that's not unrelated actually,
- 27:24Speaker 5: but I saw you write something down, so I don't
- 27:26Speaker 5: want to skip that.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Do you have something you want to add.
- 27:29Speaker 3: No, I just I'll share with you at the end.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I wrote something down for me, I'll share privately between them.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Okay, perfect, perfect, That sounds great.
- 27:35Speaker 5: So I want to talk about this idea that well, uh,
- 27:40Speaker 5: he's not here to defend himself, but but I know
- 27:42Speaker 5: you love him and so you can, you can talk
- 27:44Speaker 5: for him. You brought up in the book this this
- 27:48Speaker 5: I thought it was heartbreaking and fascinating at the same
- 27:50Speaker 5: time that while you were going through this process that
- 27:54Speaker 5: your husband came to a knowledge of Christ.
- 27:57Speaker 2: But then it it I don't.
- 28:01Speaker 5: Know the best way to describe it except that I
- 28:03Speaker 5: went through something similar where he went through a season
- 28:06Speaker 5: of his life where he would have told you he
- 28:08Speaker 5: was an atheist, that he couldn't quite grasp, understand, believe
- 28:14Speaker 5: whatever the interplay between, as I understood it, rationality and faith,
- 28:22Speaker 5: And it seems as though God used you and this
- 28:29Speaker 5: journey and mission you've.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Been on.
- 28:33Speaker 5: Well to be life and truth to him in a
- 28:36Speaker 5: time where he didn't believe in what you were up
- 28:38Speaker 5: to and wasn't really sure what he believed, but you.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Said he still supported you.
- 28:43Speaker 5: So I wanted to give you an opportunity to talk
- 28:45Speaker 5: a bit about that because it's been my experience. And
- 28:48Speaker 5: Paul actually talks about this in the New Testament, that
- 28:51Speaker 5: the faith of a believing spouse can help the other
- 28:57Speaker 5: spouse come to a knowledge of the save here. But
- 29:01Speaker 5: Paul doesn't tell you how long that takes and what
- 29:03Speaker 5: kind of what kind of journey that looks like, and
- 29:05Speaker 5: what kind of pain might go through on that front.
- 29:08Speaker 5: So I just, I just I just wanted to ask
- 29:11Speaker 5: what happens in a home when a woman stops punishing
- 29:14Speaker 5: her body and seeks to glorify God with it. What
- 29:18Speaker 5: happens in her home when God can use that as
- 29:22Speaker 5: a testimony of his goodness.
- 29:25Speaker 3: That's a great question. I was telling you earlier because
- 29:28Speaker 3: Alex mentioned to me that he wanted to talk about this,
- 29:30Speaker 3: So I think this is kind of great for anyone
- 29:32Speaker 3: who's listening. This is actually the first time I've ever
- 29:35Speaker 3: been asked this question, even though I've written about it
- 29:37Speaker 3: in my book. And I think it's great that a
- 29:40Speaker 3: brother in Christ is asking me this because I think
- 29:42Speaker 3: there are a lot of women and men, but I
- 29:44Speaker 3: can speak for the women who feel maybe even afraid
- 29:49Speaker 3: to commit their life completely to Christ because what would
- 29:52Speaker 3: my husband think? That was literally my one of my
- 29:55Speaker 3: big reasons of God. I can't like, what will people think?
- 29:58Speaker 3: What would my husband think? That was the big, a
- 30:00Speaker 3: big one for me. But I will I will say
- 30:05Speaker 3: for me, I had to go on that journey with
- 30:07Speaker 3: the Lord, one of the kindest things he did. I
- 30:10Speaker 3: can say it now, But for me, I needed someone
- 30:15Speaker 3: to love me. That was one of my bends of
- 30:19Speaker 3: my sin. Response in this world is I just needed love.
- 30:22Speaker 3: And I think a lot of people women affirmation and love.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I needed that, which was why my body became a
- 30:28Speaker 3: way of doing that. So we talk about punishing our body,
- 30:31Speaker 3: it's like we're trying to earn something. We're trying to
- 30:33Speaker 3: am I okay, Am I safe with you? Can I
- 30:36Speaker 3: enter this room and be be acknowledged for worth and value?
- 30:40Speaker 3: And so I was doing a lot of that and
- 30:43Speaker 3: getting male attention. But yes, I did marry my husband
- 30:48Speaker 3: unaware of what it meant to be equally yoked. And
- 30:51Speaker 3: when I got married to my husband, I was a
- 30:54Speaker 3: Christian in name, but I didn't understand what that meant,
- 30:57Speaker 3: which is why I had all this emptiness inside of
- 30:59Speaker 3: me that had been led me back to church. So I,
- 31:02Speaker 3: first of all, I want to give this warning or encouragement.
- 31:07Speaker 3: This what I'm about to share is not I would
- 31:10Speaker 3: not want any sister, any sister in Christ, to feel like,
- 31:13Speaker 3: oh well, things turned around for Elsa, so maybe it'll
- 31:16Speaker 3: turn around for me. Maybe I can keep dating this
- 31:19Speaker 3: guy who is an equally you. Maybe he'll become a
- 31:21Speaker 3: believer through me. Maybe he will, But I sure as
- 31:25Speaker 3: heck wouldn't marry him if you know he's not a believer.
- 31:29Speaker 3: That is a painful road. I did not know what
- 31:32Speaker 3: that meant. I didn't have anyone to disciple me, and
- 31:34Speaker 3: that I thought as long as it was a good man,
- 31:37Speaker 3: that that would work itself out. He is a good man.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Praise God. My husband is a very good man, but
- 31:41Speaker 3: he wasn't a godly man at the time I met
- 31:43Speaker 3: and married him. So fast forward, as God was pulling
- 31:47Speaker 3: on my heart, he also pulled on my husband's heart.
- 31:50Speaker 3: As I started to become renewed in Christ, my husband
- 31:53Speaker 3: noticed it. And as you said, he came to Christ
- 31:57Speaker 3: pretty rapidly because he started reading the book books. He's
- 32:00Speaker 3: a very smart man, and he started doing all the
- 32:03Speaker 3: research and all the facts started adding up. Well, must
- 32:06Speaker 3: be Christ, Like, how come I've never known this? So
- 32:08Speaker 3: he accepts Christ into his life. I'm in awe, like, wow,
- 32:13Speaker 3: I'm born again. He's born again. Wow, this is amazing.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna have the best marriage now. And now I'm
- 32:19Speaker 3: gonna have a husband really loves me. And remember my
- 32:22Speaker 3: idol is, I wanted a man to love me. And
- 32:27Speaker 3: as he came, he also went. As fast as he came,
- 32:31Speaker 3: there were just some things that came up where his
- 32:33Speaker 3: science mind. He's a very very very smart man, the
- 32:37Speaker 3: smartest man I know, and he started questioning and he
- 32:42Speaker 3: had no root system and I had no root system
- 32:45Speaker 3: to help him with his doubts. But all that to say,
- 32:48Speaker 3: he did turn away from the Lord. He did harden
- 32:50Speaker 3: his heart. And this is where I say Satan got
- 32:53Speaker 3: in there stole the seed hard in his heart. But
- 32:58Speaker 3: I'm sitting here going God, what are you doing. I'm
- 33:01Speaker 3: raising my fist at God like you, Why are you
- 33:04Speaker 3: doing this to me? You're calling me, but you're taking
- 33:07Speaker 3: away my husband. I had to go through the dark
- 33:11Speaker 3: soul of the night with the Lord about his ways
- 33:16Speaker 3: which are higher than ours. But I can now say,
- 33:19Speaker 3: on the other side of it, I can look back
- 33:21Speaker 3: to see that the Lord did that and allowed it
- 33:26Speaker 3: to purify my heart of are you coming for me?
- 33:31Speaker 3: Or are you coming for me and and your husband
- 33:35Speaker 3: and to get these things? Or is it you and me, Elisa?
- 33:38Speaker 3: Do you trust me? And he had to heal that
- 33:43Speaker 3: place in me of what I needed from a man
- 33:45Speaker 3: or a husband. And also part of it, it's in
- 33:50Speaker 3: my book, is I had to go through that healing
- 33:52Speaker 3: journey of I come from a lot of trauma. I
- 33:55Speaker 3: come from a lot of dysfunction in home life and pain.
- 33:59Speaker 3: And marriage of my parents was so dysfunctional. My father
- 34:03Speaker 3: was a sex addict. I talk about that in the book.
- 34:05Speaker 3: My mother was a codependent, so there was a lot
- 34:08Speaker 3: of things that I was doing in my marriage that
- 34:10Speaker 3: was kind of repeating the pattern of my own life.
- 34:14Speaker 3: That the Lord needed to pull me aside and heal me.
- 34:19Speaker 3: And a lot of healing happened. You know what, Alex.
- 34:22Speaker 3: It didn't happen in lifting harder at the gym, running
- 34:27Speaker 3: longer on a treadmill. Working. It wasn't in the working harder.
- 34:31Speaker 3: I would love to quote Andy Kolbler, who wrote the
- 34:34Speaker 3: book Try Softer instead of try harder, try softer. I
- 34:39Speaker 3: had to learn how to sit and be with the Lord.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Just be with him, meditate on him, not work for him,
- 34:47Speaker 3: not strive for something, not earn ministry, and not perform anything.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Just let him heal my nervous system. And that's really
- 34:57Speaker 3: my pain and trauman adversity had. As much as my
- 35:00Speaker 3: body looked great, I was disconnected from my body, my pain,
- 35:04Speaker 3: my hurt, my heartaches, And so the Lord had to
- 35:09Speaker 3: really take me on that journey of me and him
- 35:12Speaker 3: being healed. And as I began to heal, my husband
- 35:17Speaker 3: started to I mean, basically, the enemy started to lose
- 35:20Speaker 3: his grip while my husband and my husband began to
- 35:23Speaker 3: see change, not without some hard, hard, hard conversations and
- 35:28Speaker 3: scary moments where I thought we would be divorced, but
- 35:31Speaker 3: we kept pressing in. By God's grace, nobody was unfaithful
- 35:35Speaker 3: to the other. By God's grace, we stayed committed to
- 35:38Speaker 3: the vows. But our hearts were hard from hard and
- 35:40Speaker 3: distant from one another until the Lord really came softened
- 35:45Speaker 3: my heart. So for the person out there, the woman
- 35:48Speaker 3: out there who you know you're working on your body,
- 35:51Speaker 3: you're trying to find peace, It's not going to come.
- 35:55Speaker 3: It's not going to come because you lose five sizes
- 35:58Speaker 3: in address. It's not going to come because you did
- 36:03Speaker 3: a nip and talk to your faith. It's not going
- 36:05Speaker 3: to come there. It comes by being found in the
- 36:08Speaker 3: presence of the Prince of peace and learning. That's why
- 36:12Speaker 3: I wrote the book. The book has practices of how
- 36:15Speaker 3: to be loved by God, how to receive the love
- 36:18Speaker 3: of a husband who never leaves you. Isaiah fifty four says,
- 36:22Speaker 3: your husband is your maker, and as you begin to
- 36:25Speaker 3: know that love, I think our husbands and even the
- 36:29Speaker 3: brothers in faith are interested in. Wow, there's a gentleness,
- 36:33Speaker 3: there's a softness that I think women maybe inherently can
- 36:37Speaker 3: get to because we long for it from a man
- 36:40Speaker 3: that then our husbands start to maybe see and trust
- 36:45Speaker 3: that there's something trustworthy there that God, God is able.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Amen, thank you so much for sharing that. It's a
- 36:52Speaker 5: very personal and very powerful testimony, and there's not a
- 36:56Speaker 5: lot I can add to it, and I don't want to.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I just want to let that sit for for any
- 37:01Speaker 5: of the ladies listening and watching. For the guys who
- 37:04Speaker 5: are listening and watching, I want to encourage you. God
- 37:07Speaker 5: made you to be the spiritual leader of your household,
- 37:10Speaker 5: and I want you to pursue God so hard that
- 37:16Speaker 5: your wife's like, man, huh, I.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Gotta follow that guy, I gotta catch up.
- 37:22Speaker 5: Because because whether God is working in the man or
- 37:25Speaker 5: the woman, I know that God's designed for the household
- 37:29Speaker 5: is that both of us are pursuing Him.
- 37:31Speaker 2: That brings us closer together.
- 37:33Speaker 5: And because because we're pursuing Him and becoming closer together,
- 37:37Speaker 5: it's like two stars in the universe if they orbered
- 37:40Speaker 5: each other. Physicists figure this out that the light in
- 37:43Speaker 5: the universe is brighter because they're closer and orbiting together.
- 37:47Speaker 5: It actually creates its own energy that didn't exist if
- 37:50Speaker 5: those two stars were farther apart. So I'm so glad
- 37:53Speaker 5: for you, and I'm so glad that he found his
- 37:55Speaker 5: way there. I'm sure there's there's more we could say
- 37:57Speaker 5: about that, but and what a wonderful thing.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Praise God.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Can I say one more thing, because I just feel like,
- 38:04Speaker 3: oh my gosh, you're talking about something my heart's let's
- 38:06Speaker 3: talk about that, because this is the health of our
- 38:08Speaker 3: home and of our family, of our well being. But
- 38:12Speaker 3: I would also say one of the key things that
- 38:15Speaker 3: was crucial to mending our souls and our hearts towards
- 38:19Speaker 3: one another was I mean, man, I had to go
- 38:23Speaker 3: first too. That was the other. I'm like, Lord, why
- 38:25Speaker 3: me again? Why do why have to do the thing? Like?
- 38:27Speaker 3: What about him? Well, his heart is HEARTI Lisa, I'm
- 38:29Speaker 3: working on your heart. When it was really when I
- 38:32Speaker 3: began to see how guarded I was towards my husband,
- 38:36Speaker 3: how hard hearted I was towards me because of the
- 38:39Speaker 3: pain that was being caused the enemy was causing through him,
- 38:42Speaker 3: because we don't fight flesh and blood. The enemy was
- 38:45Speaker 3: using my husband to try to get me to reject
- 38:48Speaker 3: him and reject God. But as I started to see, oh,
- 38:53Speaker 3: back to when I would get with the Lord and
- 38:55Speaker 3: just sit with him and let him love me and
- 38:58Speaker 3: cry with him and realize my heart's been bitter towards him.
- 39:01Speaker 3: It wasn't When I went to my husband and confessed
- 39:06Speaker 3: and repented, he didn't deserve for me. He's an atheist
- 39:10Speaker 3: and he's not even really walking gone, and I am
- 39:12Speaker 3: confessing to him and repenting to him about my hardness
- 39:16Speaker 3: of heart. And I just remember him when I told him,
- 39:20Speaker 3: you know, God really revealed to me this, this and this,
- 39:22Speaker 3: and he's like, wow, that's a lot of self revelation,
- 39:27Speaker 3: or he didn't know what to do with it, because like,
- 39:29Speaker 3: what do I do with all this? Wow? She's owning
- 39:31Speaker 3: all this? Wow? Okay, But it was the model. It
- 39:35Speaker 3: was the model of humility of having to also just
- 39:39Speaker 3: be vulnerable, and then he was able to also soften
- 39:44Speaker 3: and be available. So I would say that whoever's listening,
- 39:47Speaker 3: whoever is, would say, you know, you feel like it's
- 39:52Speaker 3: just not happening, whether you're the spiritual leader. And again,
- 39:55Speaker 3: a woman needs a man to lead, and only the
- 39:58Speaker 3: way a man can. If you're hearing this as a man, man, brother,
- 40:02Speaker 3: wake up your whole life. It's so so good. You
- 40:05Speaker 3: could have the woman of your dreams sender to revelation
- 40:08Speaker 3: Wellness instructor training. You come to revelation Wells instructing, we
- 40:11Speaker 3: will bring your heart alive so that you can bow
- 40:14Speaker 3: to one another in honor Christ and become those those
- 40:18Speaker 3: two cosmos or lights just spinning around each other, enjoying life.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Man, I almost want to end there, but we still
- 40:27Speaker 2: have sixteen minutes, so I'm not going. We got we
- 40:29Speaker 2: got stuff, we got stuff to do.
- 40:31Speaker 5: So actually I want to I want to dig into
- 40:33Speaker 5: something a little more painful. I'm just kidding, but no.
- 40:36Speaker 5: So so one of the one of the things I
- 40:39Speaker 5: really love about your work is that it's trauma informed
- 40:43Speaker 5: and in the health and fitness space.
- 40:46Speaker 2: This is.
- 40:48Speaker 5: It's becoming more mainstream that that's a thing, but not
- 40:52Speaker 5: everybody speaks about it with a gospel centered mindset, and
- 40:58Speaker 5: so and so, if you have no idea what I'm
- 41:01Speaker 5: talking about, and you're listening, like, what does that mean?
- 41:04Speaker 5: There's a there's there's actually a tool. It's called your
- 41:06Speaker 5: ACE Score Adverse Childhood Events. And you actually included it
- 41:11Speaker 5: in your book, which I thought was was wonderful and appropriate.
- 41:14Speaker 5: There's there's a tool that that will help you understand
- 41:18Speaker 5: if there are things from your developmental stages of life,
- 41:21Speaker 5: particularly child adverse childhood events, that are actually physically and
- 41:27Speaker 5: mentally affecting you now and and and we're we've learned
- 41:31Speaker 5: this is not hokey pokey, this is this is real science.
- 41:35Speaker 5: This is stuff that's been corroborated in the lab for
- 41:38Speaker 5: over forty years at this point. And uh, there's a
- 41:42Speaker 5: the name escapes me at the moment, but a very
- 41:44Speaker 5: popular book right now, New York Times bestseller called The
- 41:46Speaker 5: Body Keeps, Score and Keeps and it's the it's you know,
- 41:51Speaker 5: kind of the layman's version of the PhDs that spent
- 41:55Speaker 5: the time and energy to put all this together.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Uh that heart, that's the name that escapes me. The
- 42:00Speaker 2: author's name escapes me at the moment.
- 42:01Speaker 5: But but she did a masterful job of bringing those
- 42:03Speaker 5: things together in a readable way.
- 42:05Speaker 2: But but the.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Core thesis is this, what happened to you can still
- 42:10Speaker 5: be happening to you, buried underneath your your your mind,
- 42:15Speaker 5: and in your nervous system in a way that that
- 42:18Speaker 5: you almost can't articulate. You almost can't even understand what's
- 42:21Speaker 5: happening to you until you start to become aware that
- 42:24Speaker 5: you're still carrying those things.
- 42:26Speaker 2: And we spoke about this earlier.
- 42:29Speaker 5: There are many individuals I have been one who, instead
- 42:33Speaker 5: of bringing peace into the room with them, bring pain
- 42:36Speaker 5: into the room with them. And it might not be
- 42:38Speaker 5: their fault, but it definitely is their problem right now.
- 42:41Speaker 5: And so so that that I love that your work's
- 42:44Speaker 5: trauma informed in that way. And I'm not even going
- 42:47Speaker 5: to try to rehash it here. You guys just need
- 42:49Speaker 5: to get the book, all right, But if you've been
- 42:51Speaker 5: through it, to read the book. But one of the
- 42:56Speaker 5: things you talk about is the activation of the prefrontal corte.
- 43:00Speaker 5: And you talk about meditation, not not meditation like oh,
- 43:04Speaker 5: I'm clearing my mind and and but but meditation in
- 43:07Speaker 5: terms of chewing on the word and taking yourself out
- 43:10Speaker 5: of the limbic system, this emotional sense when I'm mad
- 43:14Speaker 5: or I'm sad, or I'm scared or or or what's
- 43:17Speaker 5: the other one, mad sad scared.
- 43:19Speaker 3: And mad bad sad or scared.
- 43:21Speaker 5: Mad bad sad or scared. There you go, I'm in
- 43:24Speaker 5: the limbic system. I'm down here, mad sad or scared.
- 43:27Speaker 5: But then we have this this area of our body
- 43:31Speaker 5: in our brain that allows us to make decisions, allows
- 43:34Speaker 5: us to reclaim agency. And for me, For me, you
- 43:39Speaker 5: talked about the meditative process of chewing on scripture. For me,
- 43:43Speaker 5: God used weight training, Yeah, to wake that part of
- 43:48Speaker 5: me up before I even knew I was traumatized.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Weight training was I.
- 43:52Speaker 5: Had to I had to think, Oh, I'm going to
- 43:53Speaker 5: activate this muscle during this exercise.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to do this.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Oh, use your use your shoulders, not not you're not
- 43:59Speaker 5: your chest to do your shoulder presses. And and and
- 44:02Speaker 5: as a young man, that was mindfulness for me.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Sitting still wasn't gonna happen.
- 44:12Speaker 5: Weight training taught me mindfulness and just just being present
- 44:16Speaker 5: and being embodied and moving and stuff. And I know
- 44:19Speaker 5: that you have a history and weight training as well.
- 44:22Speaker 5: You didn't really talk about this necessarily in the book
- 44:24Speaker 5: because it was kind of beyond the scope of what
- 44:26Speaker 5: you were getting at. But but I'm curious what you
- 44:28Speaker 5: think about how God used weight training in your life
- 44:33Speaker 5: to start to teach you to be mindful in the moment.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Can you talk about that massively? Well, I get so
- 44:40Speaker 3: excited about this because I think this is like, let's
- 44:43Speaker 3: this is pull back the curtain. You guys want to
- 44:45Speaker 3: see oz behind the curtain.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Here.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Here's what it is, fitness anything. Any time we're doing
- 44:51Speaker 3: something with our bodies, we are activating our nervous system.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Right now, to talk, I am debating my nervous system.
- 45:01Speaker 3: My neurons in my brain are firing off, and I'm
- 45:04Speaker 3: talking so I can use my vocal cords to speak
- 45:07Speaker 3: to you. If I'm going to pick up this water
- 45:08Speaker 3: and drink, this is my nervous system. My nervous system
- 45:12Speaker 3: gives me the ability to think, feel, and choose. It
- 45:17Speaker 3: is one of the twelve systems of the body. If
- 45:19Speaker 3: you consider male female reproductive as their own branch. There
- 45:23Speaker 3: are twelve systems that make up our body. Literally, I
- 45:26Speaker 3: think of it like the twelve tribes of Judah. When
- 45:28Speaker 3: God created the body, twelve systems break us down from
- 45:33Speaker 3: integumentary which is the skin, to skeletal till muscular. So
- 45:38Speaker 3: there are these twelve systems. When you go to a doctor,
- 45:40Speaker 3: you are going to want a doctor who specializes in
- 45:43Speaker 3: some way in these systems, or just a general practitioner
- 45:46Speaker 3: who has a slight understanding of all of them. But
- 45:49Speaker 3: the nervous system is literally the one that people are
- 45:53Speaker 3: like we think that's the stuff, Like, it's the thing
- 45:56Speaker 3: that if it's disregulated because of pain, physical emotional. Your
- 46:01Speaker 3: brain doesn't know the difference between emotional pain and physical pain.
- 46:05Speaker 3: It registers the same, just like it doesn't know the
- 46:07Speaker 3: difference between I'm watching a movie that scares me and
- 46:10Speaker 3: it actually thinks we are afraid. It doesn't. There is
- 46:14Speaker 3: no that's make believe, that's real. Whatever you are taking
- 46:17Speaker 3: in via your nervous system through sites sound information, you're
- 46:23Speaker 3: putting that into action in some way. That is your
- 46:26Speaker 3: whole life. Our whole life is we're taking an information
- 46:29Speaker 3: and then we do a response. That is our life
- 46:31Speaker 3: from birth, information from the womb. We are receiving information
- 46:36Speaker 3: via our nervous system. It's this electrical wiring in your body.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Like right now, I'm so excited because this stuff excites me, Like, okay,
- 46:44Speaker 3: this is the stuff that makes up fitness. Whenever you
- 46:49Speaker 3: see somebody working out, all they are doing, whether they're
- 46:54Speaker 3: doing burpies or zoomba, all they are doing is purposely
- 46:59Speaker 3: active their nervous system gas pedal break, pedal work, rest, coordination, balance, recover.
- 47:11Speaker 3: It's my nervous system. From the age of zero to seven,
- 47:17Speaker 3: We learn the world primarily through our bodies. That has
- 47:21Speaker 3: been shown scientifically. You learn it through of your sense
- 47:25Speaker 3: and your experience of the world. How I feel in
- 47:27Speaker 3: my body. A child, a baby doesn't know what the
- 47:31Speaker 3: word no means. It knows how it sounds. It hits
- 47:37Speaker 3: that word, like if you're yelled at a lot, if
- 47:39Speaker 3: there's a screaming home. Our nervous system. Back to what
- 47:43Speaker 3: Bessel vander Kulk was writing, the body is keeping the score.
- 47:46Speaker 3: My nervous system is anxious and worried about many things.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Am I safe here? Am I okay? My body is
- 47:53Speaker 3: holding that information, so I need something to do with
- 47:57Speaker 3: that to express it. So to your point, when we
- 48:01Speaker 3: strength train, you put your body under some plate or
- 48:07Speaker 3: bar of like, I'm gonna have to use my neurons,
- 48:12Speaker 3: my firing, my wiring, my nervous system, my motivation, my focus,
- 48:17Speaker 3: my coordination to make sure that I get this bar
- 48:20Speaker 3: up and put it back down. It's focused. Mindful. You
- 48:24Speaker 3: have to be mindful if you're gonna push a weight
- 48:27Speaker 3: so it doesn't pop you in the head and fall
- 48:29Speaker 3: back in your face. Right Like, there is this wired
- 48:32Speaker 3: safety net in us. We don't want to get hurt,
- 48:34Speaker 3: so I need to focus. I'm about to put myself
- 48:37Speaker 3: into a somewhat controlled dangerous environment. But it gives me
- 48:41Speaker 3: a sense of I'm okay, I got some agency. And
- 48:45Speaker 3: then I'm using my nervous system in a very productive
- 48:49Speaker 3: way to press the weight and to release and to
- 48:53Speaker 3: breathe inhale, exhale, and my whole personhood is being activated
- 49:00Speaker 3: through my nervous system. My nervous system again helps me think, feel,
- 49:04Speaker 3: and choose. That makes up Alisa. What I think, feel
- 49:07Speaker 3: and choose might be very different than Alex what he thinks,
- 49:09Speaker 3: feels and choose, because he's his own person. When I'm
- 49:12Speaker 3: activating my nervous system in that way productively, it tells
- 49:17Speaker 3: me something about what's possible. It also teaches me two things. Interoception,
- 49:24Speaker 3: which that's a fancy word for knowing what my body
- 49:27Speaker 3: feels like inside. You know, when you're at your last
- 49:32Speaker 3: rep or so, because interoception is telling you, hey, I
- 49:37Speaker 3: think we're good here. Your muscle's pretty fatigue. We should
- 49:40Speaker 3: put it down. It's you're learning stuff through the body.
- 49:43Speaker 3: The body's teaching information that's called teroception. The body teaches
- 49:47Speaker 3: you when you're hungry it's going, hey, I'm hungry and
- 49:50Speaker 3: you feel that. Oh, that's interoception. If you have a fever,
- 49:53Speaker 3: that's interoception. I know what's going on inside of me,
- 49:56Speaker 3: in the inner landscape of me. The other thing about
- 50:00Speaker 3: strength training specifically is embodied cognition, which is a term
- 50:05Speaker 3: for being able to through what we do with our body,
- 50:10Speaker 3: the posturing of our body. You ever heard like power poses,
- 50:12Speaker 3: like if I stand up really strong, It's true. If
- 50:15Speaker 3: you just take a posture, you will assume a different
- 50:19Speaker 3: energy in your body. You're teaching your brain what to
- 50:22Speaker 3: think through your body embodied cognition. They even did a
- 50:26Speaker 3: study where they had people put a pencil in their
- 50:29Speaker 3: mouth as they were studying, and they would have to
- 50:33Speaker 3: they'd study do math equations, and people who held the
- 50:37Speaker 3: pencil in their mouth because it put them in a
- 50:41Speaker 3: smile position, were more creative in problem solving. They had
- 50:45Speaker 3: more access to their this is my little brain, to
- 50:50Speaker 3: their prefrontal cortex where you can problem solve and reason.
- 50:54Speaker 3: If I swile, I quieting down the amigdala going hey,
- 50:59Speaker 3: we're okay, all right, we can learn some things. And
- 51:02Speaker 3: that's exactly what doing strength training teaches you. I am powerful.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I am in control this moment. I can say to this,
- 51:12Speaker 3: my mountain move. It's like you're just compounding hope in
- 51:18Speaker 3: the flesh.
- 51:19Speaker 2: M man, that's that's good, compounding hope. Oh oh, just
- 51:25Speaker 2: just blew my brain.
- 51:26Speaker 5: There's there's a new a new set of research around
- 51:29Speaker 5: these chemical signals called myokindes.
- 51:31Speaker 2: I don't know if you've heard about it.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Oh, Hope molecules.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Hope.
- 51:34Speaker 5: They literally called them Hope molecules. It was, well, I
- 51:37Speaker 5: didn't think of it till you just said that, but
- 51:39Speaker 5: when we flex our muscles, that God made our muscles
- 51:43Speaker 5: with these really cool neurotransmitters that can act on the
- 51:47Speaker 5: body that are released when we use our muscles.
- 51:51Speaker 2: And they actually legit called.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Them Hope molecules research because because of their profound effect
- 51:57Speaker 5: on the way we think and our mood and and
- 52:00Speaker 5: just our neurochemistry.
- 52:02Speaker 2: So it was it was so cool. I remember reading that.
- 52:04Speaker 5: I was just about to do a talk in in Miami,
- 52:07Speaker 5: Florida at a Biohacker conference, and so so I'm stuck
- 52:10Speaker 5: in this this big giant place where all these people
- 52:12Speaker 5: are like flashing these weird lights and taking strange supplements
- 52:15Speaker 5: and spraying mists and zapping themselves everything short of like
- 52:20Speaker 5: doing legit hard drugs, right, and and so, and I'm
- 52:24Speaker 5: arguing to this group of people in this that that
- 52:27Speaker 5: weight training was the first and best biohacking you could do,
- 52:30Speaker 5: because boom, here's true, here's all your mile kinds.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Let's and so I got to do some nerds speak
- 52:36Speaker 2: with them.
- 52:36Speaker 5: But it was It's so true what you're saying here,
- 52:39Speaker 5: that that that God gave us mechanisms within our body.
- 52:43Speaker 5: You call it abolizing pain in your book. God gave
- 52:47Speaker 5: us mechanisms in our body to not just deal with stuff,
- 52:53Speaker 5: but to heal from stuff.
- 52:55Speaker 3: Amen.
- 52:55Speaker 5: And that to me, that that's really the core of
- 52:59Speaker 5: of what what revelation wellness has meant to me thus far.
- 53:03Speaker 5: But also in reading your book The Body Revelation and
- 53:05Speaker 5: just this conversation, I would encourage anybody who who dove
- 53:09Speaker 5: into this conversation. We've been everywhere because Alisa and I,
- 53:12Speaker 5: I legit, I've just I just met her. But Alisa
- 53:16Speaker 5: and I are walking so hard on this path that
- 53:19Speaker 5: we could be here for hours and we would love it.
- 53:22Speaker 5: And I don't know, yes, listeners, but we'd be like, oh,
- 53:25Speaker 5: this is great.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Let's keep going.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Have you read this and what about this?
- 53:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 53:28Speaker 3: Plays this.
- 53:32Speaker 2: And that.
- 53:32Speaker 5: That is the kind of kind of joy that I
- 53:35Speaker 5: want people to feel and see and embody in their
- 53:39Speaker 5: journey with God, because God does love their body just
- 53:43Speaker 5: like he loves their soul. So as we're closing up here,
- 53:47Speaker 5: I want to take some time to pray over you.
- 53:49Speaker 5: But this this episode is going to launch at the
- 53:52Speaker 5: very beginning of the year, so we're speaking in the future.
- 53:55Speaker 5: It's twenty twenty six, okay. And there's this, there's there's
- 54:02Speaker 5: this really cool passage and expository. Preacher taught it to
- 54:04Speaker 5: me recently, and I just I can't get out of
- 54:07Speaker 5: my head.
- 54:07Speaker 2: It's driving me crazy.
- 54:08Speaker 5: So so Jesus says, who do you say that I am?
- 54:12Speaker 5: And Peter says, you're the Christ, You're the Messiah, the
- 54:15Speaker 5: son of the Living God. And and wow, what a moment,
- 54:19Speaker 5: you know, Peter gold Star, never mind, he sticks his
- 54:21Speaker 5: foot in his mouth a few few versus, yes, but
- 54:25Speaker 5: but he says this, And Jesus says, you are Peter,
- 54:29Speaker 5: and on this rock I will build my church and
- 54:31Speaker 5: the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. Right,
- 54:34Speaker 5: You're familiar with that passage, right, So when it says
- 54:37Speaker 5: the gates of Hell will not prevail against it, we think,
- 54:40Speaker 5: I think prevail as like like Hell's goming against the Church.
- 54:44Speaker 5: But you know, we got our guard up and we're
- 54:46Speaker 5: not gonna let him. We're not gonna let him, let
- 54:48Speaker 5: him take us. We're not gonna we're not going quiet
- 54:51Speaker 5: into that that good night.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Right. So so that's that's.
- 54:54Speaker 5: The the linguistic picture in English.
- 54:58Speaker 2: But in Greek, the word ail.
- 55:00Speaker 5: Is not a defensive word. It's actually an offensive word.
- 55:04Speaker 5: It would it would better be read like this in
- 55:06Speaker 5: the Greek. On this rock, I will build my church,
- 55:10Speaker 5: and Hell will not be able to defend against the church.
- 55:14Speaker 5: In other words, in other words, Hell's got this little
- 55:17Speaker 5: territory right, and we're holding on to it, but it
- 55:20Speaker 5: won't be able to keep it because the Church just
- 55:22Speaker 5: keeps pluming. The Church is on offensive offense in twenty
- 55:28Speaker 5: twenty six. This is what I'm talking about. So and
- 55:30Speaker 5: so I want I want to lose our listeners with
- 55:32Speaker 5: this thought. And I want to ask you because because
- 55:34Speaker 5: we have in my mind these are concentric circles, there's
- 55:38Speaker 5: territory that Hell has tried to take in our bodies,
- 55:42Speaker 5: and we need to reclaim that there's territory Hell has
- 55:45Speaker 5: tried to take in our families, and we spoke about
- 55:47Speaker 5: that briefly together here, but there's also a territory that
- 55:50Speaker 5: Hell has tried to take.
- 55:51Speaker 2: In our community.
- 55:52Speaker 5: And in my mind, in twenty twenty six, we master
- 55:56Speaker 5: the body in Jesus' name, We mastered it home in
- 56:00Speaker 5: Jesus name, and we take territory in our community in
- 56:04Speaker 5: Jesus name. I want to ask you in twenty twenty six, Elisa,
- 56:08Speaker 5: what is the territory that you see in our community
- 56:12Speaker 5: that you want to take with Revelation wellness.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Wow, I don't even know. I mean, I'm still wow.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Not be able to defend against it, like what this
- 56:25Speaker 3: that view of we would be so robust and a
- 56:31Speaker 3: lot ourliveness would be like you are a mouse. That's
- 56:34Speaker 3: the one thing that the enemy is a mouse in
- 56:37Speaker 3: the corner, hiding behind a flashlight, just just projecting a
- 56:43Speaker 3: big image onto the wall. He's a mouse. We have
- 56:46Speaker 3: a lion, like we we have victory. I would say
- 56:51Speaker 3: for Revelation wants, it's very much in line with that
- 56:53Speaker 3: last year. I remember as we moved into twenty twenty five,
- 56:55Speaker 3: I declared to our community, I said, this year, I
- 57:00Speaker 3: hope you get angry and people are like, clutch my pearls.
- 57:04Speaker 3: We're not supposed to be angr're Christians. No, no, no,
- 57:07Speaker 3: let me rephrase this. I hope you understand that you
- 57:11Speaker 3: have an enemy who wants you dead. He hates you
- 57:14Speaker 3: so much that you understand that to the point that
- 57:18Speaker 3: oh no, no, no, no, no no, this is not
- 57:21Speaker 3: going down anymore. I will not be played by this
- 57:26Speaker 3: small mouse in the corner. We have victory to know
- 57:29Speaker 3: what Christ has given us. So I would continue to
- 57:32Speaker 3: say as we move into twenty twenty six, it is
- 57:36Speaker 3: that we're on the offense, that we don't have to
- 57:38Speaker 3: feel like we're the underdogs. We are the head, not
- 57:42Speaker 3: the tail. We are above, not beneath. So when we
- 57:44Speaker 3: know that paradigm shift, it is my hope for every
- 57:47Speaker 3: brother and sister that we understand the victory of Christ,
- 57:51Speaker 3: for our minds, for our souls, for our bodies, that
- 57:56Speaker 3: there's nothing that it prevails against. And exactly what you said,
- 58:00Speaker 3: I mean you said the body, the family, and then
- 58:03Speaker 3: out to the community, you can't when we try to
- 58:08Speaker 3: change others in our family, but we haven't done the
- 58:12Speaker 3: deep work of what's going on in me? What anger
- 58:15Speaker 3: do I still have in me towards people, towards God?
- 58:18Speaker 3: What is going on in me? That's that's the work
- 58:22Speaker 3: that I pray people are willing to move into. It's
- 58:25Speaker 3: the harder work to do, but it's the beautiful work.
- 58:28Speaker 3: And I think it's what Christ died to give us,
- 58:31Speaker 3: is the truth and nothing but the truth, and that
- 58:33Speaker 3: starts in our home of our body. Then we can
- 58:37Speaker 3: move out into our homes, and then we can go
- 58:40Speaker 3: into the world. So we're on mission together, Alex. I'm
- 58:44Speaker 3: behind you one hundred percent.
- 58:45Speaker 2: And what a testimony to the world.
- 58:47Speaker 5: Who comes knocking on the church door to find a
- 58:49Speaker 5: bunch of people fueled and whole homes and healed and
- 58:52Speaker 5: all yes, And they're like, what, I guess I gotta
- 58:55Speaker 5: follow Jesus.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, where have you all been? How come I've
- 58:59Speaker 3: never knew this growing up? I want this and it's
- 59:02Speaker 3: not manufactured, it's it's fruit. It just comes from us.
- 59:06Speaker 5: Naturally, it just comes out and it's real life.
- 59:09Speaker 2: It's real life. Alisa.
- 59:10Speaker 5: This has been such a blessing to me. Thank you
- 59:12Speaker 5: for the time and energy in this conversation. If you
- 59:14Speaker 5: don't mind, I'd like to pray over you and your
- 59:16Speaker 5: ministry and your family and end this conversation.
- 59:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Can I say one more thing. I want to
- 59:22Speaker 3: invite any woman who is listening Revelation wellness. If you're

- 59:39Speaker 3: weight of vanity, but health. I could. I gotta take
- 59:43Speaker 3: care of this body. I gotta, I gotta. I want

- 59:50Speaker 3: join us for weight Loss Women in God.

- 1:00:06Speaker 5: with Elsa. Thank you for the journey that you've brought

- 1:00:18Speaker 5: all the other good fruits. God, I pray a special
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: prayer protection over her home this year, that you would
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: bless her children, especially the driving one, makes sure that
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: nothing that the enemy has designed against them would prosper.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: That you would guard them and hedge them about in
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: Jesus' name. I also pray Lord that you would bless
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: revelation wellness, that you would bless every instructor and every
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: coach who gets to be a gospel teacher Jesus preacher.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I can't remember what you call.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Them, but that they get to do that and in
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: that their ministry gets to be a part of their
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: healing journey and a part of the light of your kingdom.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: I also pray Lord that you would bless us as
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: we speak to this redeeming the body thing in the church.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: God, I just pray that.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Whether it's YouTube or workouts or the single deadlifting, hiking,
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: whatever is necessary to help every member of your body
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: accept and love their body to find healing. In Jesus name, God,
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: I pray that over these ministries, thank you for what
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: you've done. Here and thank you for your goodness in
