Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: If you've been listening to this podcast thinking, gosh, I need help, but I don't know where to start, this episode is for you.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Today I am pulling back the curtain on my signature group coaching program, the Midlife Glow Up, and walking you through exactly what this program is, who it's for, and what becomes possible when you finally have a clear plan and a community to support you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the Midlife Glow Up Podcast, where we simplify fitness, nutrition, and healthy habits for women over 40.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I'm Joan Dandano, your Midlife Health and Wellness coach.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And if you are ready to feel strong, consistent, and confident in this season of life, then you are in the right place, my friend.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Today is a different style of episode.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: This isn't tips or tricks or strategies or frameworks.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: You know that this podcast is called Midlife Glow Up, and today I'm actually going to show you why my signature eight-week group coaching program goes by the same name.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I will walk you through what the program is, why I created it, how it works, who it's for, and help you decide if this is something that might be a good fit for you.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: So the Midlife Glow Up is an eight-week group coaching program for women over 40 who are tired of spinning their wheels when it comes to fitness and nutrition, and they're finally ready to prioritize themselves.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: It is designed to help you build sustainable habits.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Whether you need to focus on fitness, nutrition, or both, you'll get structure and support and community so that you can actually follow through.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I created this program because I kept seeing the same thing over and over again.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Women who were overwhelmed, confused, doing quote unquote pretty well, but feeling super frustrated and stuck.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: They knew they needed to work on their fitness, or they knew they needed to work on their nutrition, but they didn't know where to start.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Or they would start with everything all at once and then burn out within a few days or a few weeks.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Some women really need to focus on strength training.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: It is a non-negotiable, and when you're not in the routine, or you're stuck doing cardio and you're calorie restricting, it's hard to start.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: And other women were working out consistently, but their nutrition was all over the place, either skipping meals or grabbing whatever's easiest, but never really fully fueling their bodies properly.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: And then some women need both, but the thought of overhauling everything feels impossible.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: So I really wanted to create a program that would allow women to customize their experience to fit their needs, a place where you could focus on fitness or nutrition or both, where you'd get all the resources you need to be successful, the workouts, the meal strategies, the frameworks, the coaching, the community, but you wouldn't be overwhelmed trying to do everything all at once.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And I wanted to design a program to be repeatable.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: So you could do one round and focus on fitness, you could come back the next time and do nutrition, then come back a third time and do a hybrid.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Or if you start out with fitness level one, then maybe you come back the next time and you try level two.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Sustainable change does not happen in eight weeks.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: But within the right program inside of eight weeks, you can definitely create the foundation to keep building on for years and years to come.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: When you join the Midlife Glow Up, the first thing you do is choose your track.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: And if you're not really sure where to begin, then that's my job as your coach to come in and ask you those clarifying questions to decide is fitness right for you or is nutrition the right plan, or are you ready for hybrid?
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: If you are not currently strength training at least two times a week, then I will always recommend starting with fitness.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: If you are currently in a great routine with strength training, then nutrition is the right track for you.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: If you're ready to simplify how you eat and prioritize protein in your day, then the nutrition track is perfect.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Hybrid is for you if you are ready to tackle both.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing: you get to be in the driver's seat.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: You get to decide where to focus based on what would move the needle most in your life right now.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: In week one of our program, you define your commitments.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: So you actually fill out a form called the commitment form, and then you tell me, but also you tell yourself exactly what you're committing to for the next eight weeks.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: If you're on the fitness track, then you'll choose your level.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Level one is you're either starting from scratch or you're easing back in, you're rebuilding consistency.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Workouts in level one start with 20 minutes twice a week.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Very, very doable.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And you build to 30 minutes three times a week over the course of the eight weeks.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Level two, you are active.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: You have already been lifting, maybe you're just not consistent, but you're ready for more of a challenge.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: So workouts also start at 20 minutes twice a week.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: We have a bonus third workout in that first week, but you build up to four workouts that are about 30 to 45 minutes each by the end of eight weeks.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: All of the workouts are follow-along videos using dumbbells and body weight movements like squats and lunges and push-ups and rows and planks.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Nothing fancy, just effective.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: And if you have injuries or limitations to your physical body, I have things built into the program to help you with modifications so that you can fully participate inside the program and do movements that work for you and your body.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: If you decide to join the nutrition track, then you'll be committing to simple things like gradually increasing your protein, prepping some of the food so you have things ready to go for when you're hungry, and optimizing your meals to be satisfying and fueling, but also simple.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: If you choose to do the hybrid track, then you're making commitments for both fitness and nutrition.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: The key is that your commitments are realistic, but they still stretch you.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So they're not so easy that you're not growing, but they're not so hard that you're setting yourself up to fail.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: So what do you get inside the program?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Inside the program, you get a full comprehensive program hub.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: So this is a members-only section of my website with everything laid out for you week by week in a really simple manner.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: You get your workouts, you get your nutrition strategies, you get your habit tracker, you have all the resources that you might need.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: We cover everything from what if I have to travel during the program, what if I'm gonna eat out?
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: What if I have a celebration?
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Um, what if I get sick?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: What if my kids get sick?
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: We cover all of those what ifs inside of the program hub with specific strategies to, you know, bounce right back if one of those things comes up and life will always be lifing, so we plan for it.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Also, inside the program, you get weekly live group coaching calls where we're gonna dive into the mindset, the strategies, the systems that make sustainable change possible.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: If you can't make it to the live calls, no big deal.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: The calls are recorded and sent out that same evening.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: So you can watch them or even listen to them as you're driving or walking your dog, and you get to do that on your own time.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: You also get three one-on-one check-in opportunities with me as your coach.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: So at the beginning, at the middle, and at the end of the program, you'll fill out a really comprehensive form for telling me, A, what you're committing to at the beginning.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: The middle, you're telling me how is your progress going?
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: You are providing me with the information that I need so that I can help you troubleshoot any challenges, celebrate your wins.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: I'll give you feedback.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: If I think you're not challenging yourself enough, I'm gonna tell you.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: If I think you're trying to bite off more than you can probably chew, I'll probably encourage you to back off a little and start with baby steps.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Those check-ins are gold inside of this program because that is your access to me one-on-one.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: My eyes on your plan, on your life.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: You're able to share things with me in there that are gonna help really give me the information I need in order to coach you properly.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: We will also have a private community chat.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: So that's where you get to ask questions of me and of the other women over 40.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: You might share some sweaty selfies or post pictures of your food.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: You get support from me and the other women who are right there on the journey with you.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: I'm available inside the chat Monday through Friday, and every Thursday I share a fun behind-the-scenes peek into my own life, what I'm eating, how I'm moving, how I'm caring for my body and my brain for extra inspiration.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And most importantly, you get a clear path forward.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: No more guessing, no more starting over every Monday, just simple progressive strategies that build week by week.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: So that's what you get inside the program.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: But what I really want you to understand is what actually is possible for you if you join.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: The resources are great, but it's the transformation that really matters most.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: And so I want to just kind of paint the picture of what is possible.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: First, I'll start out by telling you a little bit about a few clients who have graduated the program and had great results.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: I want to tell you about Lauren.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: So, Lauren has always been active.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: She has always done cardio regularly and really watched what she eats.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: She was trying hard, honestly, but she just could not get the scale to budge and she had her son's wedding coming up.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: But more than that, she just didn't feel strong.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: She had been restricting calories and doing cardio and working harder and nothing was working.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: So when Lauren joined the Midlife Glow Up, she chose the fitness track.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: She started lifting weights three times a week.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: She was doing the level two workouts.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: She added consistent strength training to her already active lifestyle.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: And she learned also how to fuel her body with protein instead of restricting calories.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: And what happened was, yes, she lost weight, but her skin looked healthier.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: She received compliments about how good she looked.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: But what really shifted for Lauren was understanding how important strength training is.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: So she now makes that a priority.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: And she got stronger in the process.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: And she told me, I'm now super inspired to get and remain healthy so that I can grow older in the most graceful manner possible because I am so worth it.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: She said she truly glowed up during the process.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: And when I asked her about the program, she said, it's so good to hyperfocus on yourself for a short period of time to improve and build new habits.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: She said, Joan is so positive and endearing, and she's truly rooting for you the whole time.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: It is a sweet, empowering, and encouraging program.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: I love hearing those words.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Then there is Melinda.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: So Melinda had gotten divorced.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Her kids had gone off to college, so she was living alone and working full-time from home.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Previously, she used to be a group exercise instructor, but during the transition, she had completely lost herself.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: She was skipping meals and grabbing whatever was easiest, working long hours, meeting after meeting, and fueling her body was kind of the last thing on her mind.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: But she desperately wanted to feel good at her own skin again.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: She works a ton and she wasn't really sure if she would have time for the program or even where to begin.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: So when she joined the Midlife Glow Up, she chose the nutrition track.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: And we started out with just focusing on the four by four fist method, four fist-sized servings of protein by 4 p.m.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: And over time, over the eight weeks, she adopted regular food prep.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: She was really resistant to that.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Like, I just don't have time.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: But she decided that that was her best bet to make healthy food the fast option.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: So she would have a protein shake in between meetings and have protein pancakes ready for breakfast.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: She would have her lunch prepped ahead of time and high protein snacks ready to go.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: So when it came time for dinner, she was actually hungry, but not like ravenous because she had been fueling properly all day long.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: And when I asked Melinda to kind of sum up her experience, those are her words, she said, I've increased my protein intake.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: I've lost 12 pounds.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: I overcame trying to find time for meal prepping, and I just made it a must-do on my calendar.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Meal prepping is just a given in my week now, and I feel amazing and my energy is through the roof.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: So basically, what she did was focus on nutrition, decide what her no matter what was.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: And because of those things, she started having more energy.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: So she started adding in workouts, and because she was working out, she was sleeping better.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: And soon, as soon as she finished the program, she decided to get back to teaching her group exercise.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Stories like this just light me up.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: It's definitely not all about weight loss, though.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: I've definitely had women come to me who are not weight loss isn't even a goal of theirs.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Um, but I have had women inside of this program in particular be able to get off blood pressure medication.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Women who completely change their relationship with their body and their health, starting to see themselves through different eyes, changing their self-talk from I'm too old or it's too late to I'm getting stronger and I'm proud of myself.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: I've had women who say to me, I feel strong for the first time in years.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: I sleep better, I have more energy, and I trust myself again.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: That to me is true transformation.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: And what I hear over and over again, there's just something special about this group.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Um, I've heard women say they've tried programs before and felt like they didn't belong, but this was different.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Everyone was warm and welcoming, and it's a very non-judgmental place to just be real and vulnerable and share your struggles and share your wins, and you will be absolutely celebrated.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: So you might be thinking, this sounds amazing, but is this right for me?
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: So I want to be really clear about who this program is for, but also who it's not for.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: The Midlife Glob was made for you if you are tired of spinning your wheels when it comes to fitness and nutrition.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: You want structure, but you don't want rigidity.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: You value guidance and community, and you're ready to stop dabbling and start actually committing, but you're just really not sure where to begin.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: You know you do better with accountability and a plan versus being in isolation.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: And you are finally ready to prioritize yourself after potentially years of prioritizing everybody else.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: This is not for you if you are looking for a quick fix, if you want to continue to focus on perfection, if you're unwilling to show up imperfectly, or you're mainly concerned with the scale and your pant size, and you're not able to make that connection between your daily choices and those results.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: This program is a partnership between myself and the clients inside.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: The women who thrive inside of this program are the ones who say, I am ready to take myself seriously.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: I am worth it, I just need help.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: I just don't know the first step to take.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Or I feel like I just want to like rip the band-aid and do everything.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: But when I do that, I end up further behind than I was when I started.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: I know there is probably one main objection running through your mind right now, so I just want to address it.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: The most common objection I hear is I don't have time.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: And I get it, you are busy.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: But here's what I want you to hear.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Level one workouts start at 20 minutes twice a week.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: That is 40 minutes total inside of seven days.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: For nutrition, there are shortcuts.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Food prep does not have to take you hours, and the four by four fist method is designed to fit into your day, not take it over.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Our weekly group coaching calls are 45 minutes every week.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: If you can't make it live, you just catch the replay while you're driving or walking your dog.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: This does not have to consume your life.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: But if you don't make time now, you will find yourself constantly running on empty, too tired to show up for the people and things that matter most in your life, and you'll keep missing out on the hike with your family or the trip you've been planning or the confidence to wear what you want, the energy to enjoy your life instead of just surviving.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: So here's what I want you to know.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: If you are listening to this in real time, we are currently inside of our launch for the Midwife Glow Up group coaching program.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: I only offer this program twice a year.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So if you've been considering joining, now is the time.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: If you're listening to this and the current round has closed, just check the show notes to see when the next group will be opening up.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: There is a link in the show notes where you can learn all of the details and snag your spot.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: If you have questions, you don't know if this is the right fit for you, head over to Instagram at Jones Fitzone and send me a DM, or feel free to email me.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: I'll also drop my email in the show notes today.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: I want you to feel like a heck yes to this.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: If this feels in alignment with what you're looking for, your goals, your values, your lifestyle, then reach out.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Let's have a conversation.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: If it looks like it is the right fit for you, I would absolutely be honored to lock arms with you and journey through these eight weeks with you and the other amazing women inside.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: And if you have been thinking about getting in control of your health and your fitness for a while now, if you know deep down that you're ready to stop starting over and finally build something that lasts, this is it.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: This is your chance.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Imagine where you could be eight weeks from now.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: Stronger, more consistent, more confident, finally trusting yourself to follow through.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: That version of you is waiting.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: She's waiting for you to show up.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: You deserve to feel strong, to feel confident.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: You deserve support.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Not someday, not when life slows down, but now.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Stop waiting.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Stop overthinking.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Click the link in the show notes and read through the details.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: And if it feels right, join us.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: I would love to walk alongside you for the next eight weeks and watch you become the woman who keeps promises to herself.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: If you've been on the fence, I hope this episode helped you see what's really possible.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: When you stop trying to figure out on your own, you get a plan, you get some accountability, you get a coach who cares, and then you just put your head down and get to work.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Thanks for listening, my friend.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Remember, progress over perfection and consistency over intensity.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: Until next time, keep growing, keep glowing, and bye for now.
