- 0:05Speaker 1: Apogee Production. Welcome to the She Rises Podcast. I'm Ashley
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm Tiana.
- 0:14Speaker 2: This podcast is about female empowerment and encouraging you to
- 0:17Speaker 2: be your biggest, boldest, and most authentic version of yourself.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We help you shed the shame, grow to a new level.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We're gonna laugh, cry, and talk about the topics everyone
- 0:26Speaker 1: else is too afraid to talk about.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Get ready for your next level of self?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Hello everybody? Do we have a really fun episode. It
- 0:37Speaker 1: is our bucket list and also things that we would
- 0:40Speaker 1: never do. What's list?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Oh? You know what? The first thing that comes to
- 0:44Speaker 2: mind when we have this conversation is Egypt. You'd love
- 0:47Speaker 2: to go to Egypt. I've seen posts people on social
- 0:50Speaker 2: media having gone and the artifacts or just everything that
- 0:57Speaker 2: it's incredible. It feels very spiritual, and I think for
- 1:01Speaker 2: me it's more of a curiosity. It's like a curiosity
- 1:03Speaker 2: in the each that I've got a scratch, like I
- 1:05Speaker 2: would love to go and experience what would feel like
- 1:09Speaker 2: to be there in that energy, to be near the pyramids,
- 1:12Speaker 2: to be near the sphinx, Like it's a big cat.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I would love to understand more about Egypt, and I
- 1:19Speaker 2: know that there's so much history there in terms of
- 1:22Speaker 2: you know, extraterrestrial beings and who was previously there and
- 1:27Speaker 2: different species and stuff like that.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Just steam wrent not last year the year before on
- 1:33Speaker 1: a solo trip and I.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Loved it a solo trip too.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he absolutely loved it. I just didn't have this
- 1:39Speaker 1: to go there. And he also heard it was really
- 1:42Speaker 1: dangerous for women.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yes, I have heard that.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So he was like, I'll go on my solo trip
- 1:45Speaker 1: and yeah, I wasn't that keen to go. And then
- 1:46Speaker 1: he came back he still said, yeah, it is quite dangerous.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Even on some of their tours they had to like
- 1:51Speaker 1: pull to the side or go a different route because
- 1:53Speaker 1: they were wary of things or they'd heard something oh
- 1:56Speaker 1: yeah on the different wherever they went. But he absolutely
- 1:59Speaker 1: loved it, loved it, Which brings you to my next
- 2:02Speaker 1: one minds to go to Africa, and yours is on
- 2:04Speaker 1: that you wouldn't want to go to Africa. I've always
- 2:06Speaker 1: wanted to go to do a safari and there's just
- 2:09Speaker 1: some beautiful orphanages over there that I would love to
- 2:11Speaker 1: go and volunteer my time for a couple of weeks
- 2:13Speaker 1: and actually stay with the kids and play with them.
- 2:15Speaker 1: There's a couple of Uganda that I follow on TikTok
- 2:18Speaker 1: and I just my heart just feels pulled to go there.
- 2:21Speaker 1: So I would love to go there one day.
- 2:22Speaker 2: You have shown me a few of those videos. Actually
- 2:25Speaker 2: it's really really heartwarming and sad.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I mean it's happening in every country. Yeah, I've been
- 2:29Speaker 1: to one in India. They're everywhere. I've been to the
- 2:32Speaker 1: one in Bali. There's so many in Bali as well,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and you can take supplies and go hang with the kids,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and I've done that in Bali and India. But yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I don't know something about Africa. I just feel pulled,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I think because of all the videos, and I talk
- 2:42Speaker 1: to one of the guys that runs the orphanage over there.
- 2:45Speaker 1: They just share all of their stories and you see
- 2:47Speaker 1: the kids' faces and you feel them. I just want
- 2:49Speaker 1: to go and give them all big hug. Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 2: So you have like an emotional connection to going to Africa.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Specifically and to these specific orphanages that I found.
- 2:57Speaker 2: What do you think that you would want to do
- 2:58Speaker 2: while over there, if you would just stay for a
- 3:00Speaker 2: couple of weeks, What do you think that would look like?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Just assist whether they need me for, whether it's holding
- 3:05Speaker 1: the babies, feeding the babies, I don't know, playing games
- 3:08Speaker 1: with them, taking over books and teaching them English anything,
- 3:12Speaker 1: taking them over lots of goodies, and just giving my time,
- 3:14Speaker 1: my love, my energy. Yeah. Yeah, and a lot of
- 3:17Speaker 1: them have health conditions that they have no idea what's
- 3:20Speaker 1: wrong with them because they don't have medical support there.
- 3:23Speaker 2: You know, realize the contrast until you see it, until
- 3:25Speaker 2: you're in it and you're looking at it.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I see mister Beasts go over there all the time,
- 3:28Speaker 1: into lots of different countries. And one of his most
- 3:30Speaker 1: recent videos he went over to a few different countries
- 3:33Speaker 1: and got two thousand people walking again that had like
- 3:36Speaker 1: no legs athletics, and you heard all of their stories
- 3:40Speaker 1: and it was I was just like, fuck, that's so cool.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Wow, that's cool, so cool.
- 3:44Speaker 1: When you've got the resources and the time and energy
- 3:46Speaker 1: that you can give back. Yeah, it's really heartfelt.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Oh that's cool.
- 3:51Speaker 1: He's gone to another country and repaired like one hundred
- 3:53Speaker 1: clefts as well. So I just think, if I've got
- 3:56Speaker 1: a platform, I've got the resources, if I can find
- 3:58Speaker 1: the time and be able to get over there, I'd love.
- 4:00Speaker 2: To Oh that's cool.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 2: See, I don't know much of about Africa, but I
- 4:06Speaker 2: have heard that it's quite unsafe. I've heard that especially
- 4:09Speaker 2: for women.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I've had, it's worse in South Afrigot. I could be wrong.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I'm not sure. Especially when you think about solo traveling,
- 4:14Speaker 2: it's not a place that you would want to go.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And I think I'm a bit of a scaredy cat
- 4:17Speaker 2: when it comes to being overseas as well. My mum
- 4:19Speaker 2: was always drilled into my head like just be super
- 4:21Speaker 2: cautious when you're overseas. She literally made me watch Taken
- 4:25Speaker 2: one time before I traveled for three times.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Bad move, Mum.
- 4:28Speaker 2: It made me so anxious, but it's good to know
- 4:31Speaker 2: what can happen.
- 4:31Speaker 1: A way to have ye'd be street smart and be aware,
- 4:35Speaker 1: stay in good locations. Like even when I went to Paris,
- 4:38Speaker 1: Beth helped me book my whole trip, and she was
- 4:40Speaker 1: showing me on the map the areas that you cannot
- 4:42Speaker 1: stay and you cannot go. Wow, some areas that are
- 4:44Speaker 1: so dangerous for pickpocketing, for kidnapping, for all the things.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And then there's certain areas and they're all numbers. So
- 4:50Speaker 1: she's like, don't stay in area number nineteen, but you're
- 4:52Speaker 1: safe over here at number nine. So she helped me
- 4:54Speaker 1: book my accommodation according to where it was safe. Oh
- 4:57Speaker 1: my god. And she only learnt this because she didn't
- 4:59Speaker 1: know the first time she went and stayed in a
- 5:01Speaker 1: really unsafe location and got robbed.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I think each country you really have to do your research.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And I don't think i'd like to travel solo. I
- 5:08Speaker 1: used to think I wanted to, but I'd always want
- 5:10Speaker 1: to travel with someone or a group of people. But yeah,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I have heard it's really dangerous as well. What else
- 5:16Speaker 1: is on your list? The Northern Lights, all the Southern Lights,
- 5:18Speaker 1: with the Southern Lights down in Tasmania, they're around. Yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 1: it's just as pretty as the Northern Lights. Apparently, I
- 5:23Speaker 1: haven't been. I've never heard of that, I know, right,
- 5:26Speaker 1: And they found out recently as well. A girl on
- 5:28Speaker 1: Instagram swiped up when I said I wanted to go
- 5:29Speaker 1: to the Northern Lights. She's like, you have to travel
- 5:31Speaker 1: all the way over there. We've got it right here.
- 5:33Speaker 1: What do you mean, Yeah, I have to look you
- 5:34Speaker 1: at your phone.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, Oh my god. Maybe we should go
- 5:37Speaker 2: to Tasmania.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Southern Lights Apparently, the peak I think is around September,
- 5:41Speaker 1: and they look so beautiful.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Oh my god, have I never heard of it?
- 5:48Speaker 1: I only recently heard. Yeah, just as good as overseas.
- 5:51Speaker 2: That's insane. I wish you guys could see the photo
- 5:52Speaker 2: that I'm looking at right now.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Just google Southern Lights and see what comes up, because
- 5:56Speaker 1: it looks amazing.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I've never been to Tasmania, haven't you know? You have before?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yea twice once for a wedding and we took our
- 6:03Speaker 1: tour there as well.
- 6:04Speaker 2: That's called Yeah, yeah, I know. I've never been beautiful there.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I'd love to go to the Northern Lights or Southern Lights,
- 6:10Speaker 1: but I don't get to the Northern Lights. I would
- 6:11Speaker 1: just go to the Southern Lights.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Do you think that you would want to do the
- 6:14Speaker 2: Northern Lights anyway? Because it's like the snow and it's
- 6:17Speaker 2: the experience and you can stay in those little cabins
- 6:19Speaker 2: igloos and it's underneath the lights and the glu. They
- 6:23Speaker 2: look incredible, right goals?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah?
- 6:26Speaker 2: Could you imagine the content the podcast and igloo Oh
- 6:31Speaker 2: my god, that would so far. That would be hectic. Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 2: I've always wanted to do that, but that would be fairsome.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Something else I would love to do is the hot
- 6:40Speaker 2: air balloons in.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Turkey looks incredible.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Is it Cappadocia.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I don't know if that's correct. I probably really butchered that.
- 6:48Speaker 2: It looks incredible and I would just love to experience
- 6:51Speaker 2: that in that country in the air I've always.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Wanted all around. My girlfriend Jess just did that last year.
- 6:58Speaker 1: She didn't go up in the hot air balloon. She
- 7:00Speaker 1: got a hotel that was very high and in the
- 7:03Speaker 1: background was all the hot air blowing, so they could
- 7:05Speaker 1: just watch them all rise up. There was hundreds of
- 7:07Speaker 1: them in her photos. Would beautiful, which was what I
- 7:10Speaker 1: would do because I wouldn't go on a hot air below.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right. You know it's not high, so
- 7:15Speaker 2: nothing with heights is scratch off the list of Yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I got a voucher for Steven Tage to go on
- 7:20Speaker 1: a hot airble and and they absolutely loved it. But
- 7:22Speaker 1: as I were going up, I said, that is my
- 7:24Speaker 1: worst nightmare. You're floating in the air in a tiny
- 7:26Speaker 1: little picnic mask. He trusting that this is going to
- 7:30Speaker 1: hold you. Guy, Like, no, it's a hard.
- 7:33Speaker 2: No, I can understand why that would give you the.
- 7:36Speaker 1: But in Turkey looks beautiful. I'd really love to see
- 7:39Speaker 1: an active volcano, so probably have to go to Hawaii
- 7:42Speaker 1: for this. Oh yeah, I would love to see that.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And you can actually go to the very very like
- 7:47Speaker 1: the highest part of Hawaii and the stars. Oh you
- 7:51Speaker 1: should see this on YouTube. Look it up with you
- 7:53Speaker 1: guys in your computer after this episode. Look up like
- 7:55Speaker 1: the sky at the top of Hawaii. It's like just millions,
- 7:59Speaker 1: Like you've never seen stars like it in your life.
- 8:02Speaker 1: So that's top of my bucket list.
- 8:03Speaker 2: That's really beautiful.
- 8:05Speaker 1: An active volcano would be so incredible to see watching it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: A lava, oh be so cool. Nature is just incredible.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I would love to see a live tornado. Not gonna happen,
- 8:15Speaker 1: but I just think it's crazy watching that stuff.
- 8:18Speaker 2: You go to the US, you might yeah, and anyone
- 8:20Speaker 2: who lives in the US might disagree.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yes, this, but on YouTube we're fascinated by We watch
- 8:26Speaker 1: it all the time. Another one of my bucket lists
- 8:28Speaker 1: speaking of nature is Portugal to watch them massive big
- 8:31Speaker 1: wave surface. We've spoken about that. It can be like
- 8:34Speaker 1: fifty to one hundred foot waves and not many people
- 8:36Speaker 1: surf them. But when they do, it's just that's suicide
- 8:39Speaker 1: to me. How do they get on there? But it's
- 8:41Speaker 1: so incredible to watch, Steve and I could sit there
- 8:44Speaker 1: for days watching those kind of waves.
- 8:46Speaker 2: But you have to go in the season pretty incredible
- 8:48Speaker 2: that there are people game enough with enough obsession for
- 8:52Speaker 2: it's real, Yeah, to be able to actually do that
- 8:55Speaker 2: and to feel confident to do that.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And it's not just them, it's the jet ski riders
- 8:59Speaker 1: with them, because they have to rescue them once they've
- 9:01Speaker 1: come off the wave or if they tumble over. The
- 9:03Speaker 1: jet ski has to get entire time before the next
- 9:06Speaker 1: wave comes and grabs, and if they are three seconds
- 9:09Speaker 1: too late, they're all gone. Wow if they get flipped
- 9:11Speaker 1: off their jet ski. So it's so they're dangerous.
- 9:15Speaker 2: They would have to have such skill. Even the people
- 9:17Speaker 2: on the jet skills.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Well they're just as important, yeah, if not more important. Wow.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy to watch such high risk, isn't it
- 9:25Speaker 2: high risk?
- 9:25Speaker 1: These guys are dad devil.
- 9:27Speaker 2: The ocean is scary on a good day. I know, right,
- 9:29Speaker 2: if a wave is a slightly too big, I get
- 9:31Speaker 2: nervous too a wave, girl, because I know I get
- 9:34Speaker 2: thrown around, you know, and I have before.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And yeah, they're fine, but they're also so fascinating.
- 9:40Speaker 2: To watch the duality of the ocean.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Exactly. It's so real.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It's like the most beautiful thing you've ever seen and
- 9:45Speaker 2: the most terrifying, so true crazy. Okay, line dancing, Yeah, line.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Dancing is happening.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Nashville will making it happen in twenty twenty six. Bucket list.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Get our cowgirl boots, cowgirl hat, little belt, and go
- 10:00Speaker 2: line dancing. Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 1: It was just a random conversation we were all having
- 10:03Speaker 1: one day, me, you and Meg and all three of
- 10:06Speaker 1: us have wanted to do it, and we're like, oh
- 10:07Speaker 1: my gosh, we're going to do this.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It would just be so fun, so fun, and country
- 10:11Speaker 2: music is well. We both said, this is just so nice.
- 10:15Speaker 2: It's not there's no derogatory language, there's no swearing, there's
- 10:18Speaker 2: not a story.
- 10:19Speaker 1: It's mostly about love.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's mostly about love, yet it's love stories. It's really
- 10:22Speaker 2: nice to listen to and then dance into. It is
- 10:25Speaker 2: just that next level fun.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So fun. Sees me to Nashville and said it was
- 10:29Speaker 1: so fun. Everyone's just so alive. It's such a cool vibe.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I also really love Americans same. I feel like they're
- 10:36Speaker 2: very nice, but are so nice.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I was talking to my girlfriend Sarah this morning about it,
- 10:40Speaker 1: because she's over there now and everyone is just so friendly.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And I've got a friend that lives in South Carolina
- 10:46Speaker 1: and there's no top poppy syndrome over there. He's lived
- 10:49Speaker 1: in Australia and over there. And if everyone over there
- 10:51Speaker 1: wants to celebrate each other, help each other. Over here,
- 10:54Speaker 1: if you're an influencer, cringe. People are like, oh, you're
- 10:56Speaker 1: an influencer.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Over there, it's like, oh my god, you're an influencer.
- 10:59Speaker 1: What do you do? Like, what do you talk about?
- 11:00Speaker 1: It's celebrated. Yeah, Wow, everyone's so much more supportive.
- 11:05Speaker 2: To be able to witness the conversation of that happening,
- 11:07Speaker 2: to see the contrast.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I know Americans are very friendly.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I feel like some people have different viewpoints on that,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and some people are like, oh my god, Americans are
- 11:16Speaker 2: not n I saw really. Yeah, I've heard it one
- 11:18Speaker 2: or two times, but mostly for the most part, Yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 2: people have had really good experiences with Americans.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I've been to America probably five times now. I always
- 11:27Speaker 1: just thought they were so lovely. Yeah, they also love Australians.
- 11:30Speaker 2: That's what I was going to say. I feel like
- 11:32Speaker 2: they're biased.
- 11:33Speaker 1: As soon as they hear an Aussie accent, they're like, oh,
- 11:35Speaker 1: Like when we hear an American accent, we're like, hey.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yes, so it's reciprocated for sure. I remember this one
- 11:41Speaker 2: time I was in New York. I stayed there for
- 11:43Speaker 2: a month and I was staying a couple of blocks
- 11:45Speaker 2: away from Times Squares, was right in the center. It's
- 11:48Speaker 2: so beautiful. It's like living out a girl's dream. And
- 11:51Speaker 2: I remember going to Starbucks. This is so random, by
- 11:54Speaker 2: the way, and the way that they pronounce my name
- 11:56Speaker 2: is crazy. It's like Tayana.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Oh.
- 12:00Speaker 2: And the way that they spell it as well. There
- 12:01Speaker 2: was this one woman that's a cute name. She spelt
- 12:04Speaker 2: my name on a cop pick up t e y
- 12:07Speaker 2: u na like Tayana. And I was like, oh, I
- 12:11Speaker 2: thought it was so bizarre because Tayana and she said
- 12:16Speaker 2: it with the sass and that was the best thing ever.
- 12:19Speaker 1: That's so cool.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was hilarious.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I've never even heard that as a name, but I
- 12:23Speaker 1: don't mind it. Yeah. I love teen names. As you know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I'm a part of that. Tana.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You are so loved so cute. That's your next one?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of travel for me. I have done
- 12:35Speaker 1: a lot of travel, but Steve and I have booked
- 12:38Speaker 1: Europe twice for me and him to go to and
- 12:40Speaker 1: the first time got pregnant, I had to cancel. The
- 12:43Speaker 1: second time was going to be for Levi's wedding and
- 12:45Speaker 1: then COVID hit we had to cancel again. So we're
- 12:47Speaker 1: planning this year to go back over to their Maufi coast.
- 12:51Speaker 1: That sound number one. I would like to go to
- 12:53Speaker 1: Germany or Poland to go to the camps, just history.
- 12:57Speaker 1: We've both read about it a lot, not saying I
- 12:59Speaker 1: want to say as a bucket list, but just to
- 13:00Speaker 1: learn all about it and being that energy. I'd love
- 13:03Speaker 1: to go, and they were deciding on the third place
- 13:05Speaker 1: we'd like to go. Portugal is on our list, but
- 13:08Speaker 1: when we are plenty on going, it's not the big
- 13:10Speaker 1: wave season. The big wave season, you almost need to
- 13:14Speaker 1: be a last minute trip. When they report that the
- 13:16Speaker 1: big set's going to come anywherest need to book a
- 13:18Speaker 1: flight and go.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, which is hard when you've got kids, totally.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But that's on bucket list. So yeah, European vacation with
- 13:23Speaker 1: Steve this year and then We've always said once Taje
- 13:26Speaker 1: turned four, it was a lot easier to travel with
- 13:29Speaker 1: him and we felt like he could do more things. Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 1: he was tall enough for certain things. He understood it more,
- 13:34Speaker 1: he wasn't having a day app he was more regulated.
- 13:37Speaker 1: It just was more enjoyable. So once Tyler turns four,
- 13:41Speaker 1: I think will go hard on family trips. Oh, that's
- 13:44Speaker 1: so yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 2: That such good experience and everyone.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Especially over school holidays, to be able to go away
- 13:49Speaker 1: for a month. Yeah.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Is there any place that you have in mind full
- 13:52Speaker 2: family trips specifically?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're like love to take them Europe for sure,
- 13:57Speaker 1: go on like a month adventure. And I'd love to
- 13:58Speaker 1: take them to the Orlando Disneyland in America, one of
- 14:01Speaker 1: the biggest Disneylands. That'd be really cool and mal dies
- 14:06Speaker 1: that's nice.
- 14:06Speaker 2: That's so fun that it's part of the experience. I've
- 14:09Speaker 2: heard it's quite expensive to stay there.
- 14:12Speaker 1: We were going to stay there in Paris and it
- 14:15Speaker 1: was going to be eleven and a half thousand dollars
- 14:17Speaker 1: for two nights. Wow. Or we could stay ten minutes
- 14:22Speaker 1: down the road in a Disneyland village and catch a
- 14:25Speaker 1: little shuttle in there and that was fifteen hundred dollars.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, it's cute as a Disneyland room.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Yea'd be. I'd rather put that money towards something else.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Of course. Yeah, holy shit, Wow, what a contrast. I know.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And the village we stayed in was really cool because
- 14:39Speaker 1: it had a water park, had on these restaurants. It
- 14:41Speaker 1: was literally like a kid's village.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It was epic, had everything that you needed there away.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I still had the theme.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yes, really really cool. So yeah, a lot of travel.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I'd love to go to Paris. So if len I
- 14:52Speaker 2: end up going to Paris, we're gonna have to get
- 14:53Speaker 2: Beth to help us out to stay in the safer location.
- 14:55Speaker 2: That would be awesome.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Even where I stayed, I would recommend both those locations
- 14:58Speaker 1: where I stayed. Yeah, one's opposite the big lou Verton
- 15:01Speaker 1: building and it's right in the middle of all the
- 15:03Speaker 1: shopping and everything. And the pullman was the view of
- 15:05Speaker 1: the Eiffel Tower. Both were incredible, very safe. That's very cool.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love to go there, So that's on
- 15:11Speaker 2: my bucket list. I've got Italy on my bucket list
- 15:13Speaker 2: as well, so I've been to Venice before, but I
- 15:16Speaker 2: haven't explored what are the other ones?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yes, Rome, yes, oh yeah?
- 15:20Speaker 2: All those different places. Where is it where people have weddings?
- 15:24Speaker 2: What's it called? Like comos like that. I'd love to
- 15:27Speaker 2: go visit all of that. I think it'd be so incredible.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Greece I've never been to, which I would love to see.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I would love to go to Japan actually, oh yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 2: Like I'm not a snowboarder or skier and I've only
- 15:38Speaker 2: done it probably like once or twice. But I would
- 15:40Speaker 2: love to go to Japan and go have that experience.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I've heard it's incredible. But outside of that, I would
- 15:45Speaker 2: love to build a villa in BALI have different like
- 15:49Speaker 2: holiday homes in different locations.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Epic.
- 15:52Speaker 2: That would be a dream.
- 15:53Speaker 1: That'd be so fun.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I actually saw something on social media the other day
- 15:56Speaker 2: of a woman and she said, it's the best thing
- 15:59Speaker 2: and obviously a luxury to be able to have a
- 16:01Speaker 2: holiday home and not have to unpack. So she had
- 16:05Speaker 2: she had her home, and then she had a holiday home,
- 16:08Speaker 2: and she had bought stuff that she has in her home.
- 16:10Speaker 1: She just rocks up and it's there.
- 16:12Speaker 2: All she takes is a seven kilo carry on bag
- 16:14Speaker 2: and everything's already there, and she was like, this is
- 16:16Speaker 2: absolutely a luxury. That's something I've worked towards for so
- 16:20Speaker 2: long since He's always been a dream of mine. And
- 16:23Speaker 2: she showed her wardrobe was you know, she had like
- 16:26Speaker 2: pajamas and going out clothes and heels.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And flat holiday one.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Oh I can't remember, yeah, but it was somewhere overseas.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I thought that was.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Really incredible, so cool.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I love that, so fun to my bucket list. Well,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I don't know. I just think it'd be really fun.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I would love to do Dancing with the Stars or
- 16:43Speaker 1: a fun reality show. So I have said this in
- 16:46Speaker 1: the podcast before, so if you've heard it, I apologize.
- 16:48Speaker 1: But I did it to go through two interviews with
- 16:51Speaker 1: Big Brother just before COVID hit and didn't get through,
- 16:55Speaker 1: and I was asked to be on sas said no instantly.
- 16:58Speaker 1: It's hectic. So they are challenging you mentally, physically, emotionally.
- 17:02Speaker 1: They'll almost kidnap you and throw you into room with
- 17:05Speaker 1: loud music, or they've taken a helicopter and then you've
- 17:07Speaker 1: got to jump out and swim and find your way
- 17:09Speaker 1: in this massive safari. Oh my god, it's fucked like contense. Yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 1: people break bones. It's just very Yeah, it's really physically,
- 17:19Speaker 1: mentally and emotionally challenging with I would fail first episode.
- 17:22Speaker 1: If they put me on anything with heights, I would
- 17:24Speaker 1: silk and be out. I'm scared of the dark. I'm postrophobic.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I would be an epic fail and I'd be the
- 17:29Speaker 1: laughing stock of the show.
- 17:31Speaker 2: But you make for good TV, babe. You know, I
- 17:33Speaker 2: could definitely see you one Big Brother.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Cool big Brother. There's another show called Million Dollar Island,
- 17:38Speaker 1: but I've only done one series. I'm guessing it didn't
- 17:40Speaker 1: do very well. Like one hundred people going to an island.
- 17:42Speaker 1: They've all got a ten thousand dollars brace on and
- 17:44Speaker 1: just through building relationships and fitness challenges and just fun challenges.
- 17:49Speaker 1: They all compete and you've got to gather up lots
- 17:51Speaker 1: of braces over the time they can get taken off you.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And yeah, it looked really cool. It was very relationship building, yeah,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and connecting. But while you're on an island altogether. It
- 18:00Speaker 1: only went for a month, which would be cool, not
- 18:02Speaker 1: because some shows go for like three months. Three months. Yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'd hate to be ware from the kids for that long, sure,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but dancing with the Stars. I just used to dance
- 18:08Speaker 1: when I was younger, and I love dancing. I'm definitely
- 18:11Speaker 1: not that great anymore, but I wonder if it'd be
- 18:13Speaker 1: a muscle memory once I got into it, would I
- 18:14Speaker 1: pick it up again?
- 18:15Speaker 2: I think so?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Would my body cope with it? Because it's I heard
- 18:18Speaker 1: it's like eight to twelve hours of training a day
- 18:20Speaker 1: learning the dance because you have to learn a new
- 18:22Speaker 1: one every week and then perform it at the end
- 18:23Speaker 1: of the week. Wow, body intense. Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 2: So obviously you only see the highlight reels.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Exactly, don't see the hours and hours behind the scenes.
- 18:32Speaker 1: So yeah, I just I don't know. I'd love to
- 18:34Speaker 1: be challenged in a really different way. I think I
- 18:36Speaker 1: grow a lot as a person and aout myself.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love to see you on TV. Yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 2: and dancing to you'd be in your element.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I would love it. And all the costumes. Yeah, it'd
- 18:45Speaker 1: be really cool.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It'd be fun.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So I don't know if that will ever happen, but
- 18:48Speaker 1: I've just got on my list to put it out there.
- 18:50Speaker 1: If some when it comes along, that'd be cool.
- 18:52Speaker 2: The feelers out there vague, Yeah, you know, what. I
- 18:54Speaker 2: remember thinking I would love to go on a TV show,
- 18:57Speaker 2: but I remember thinking it was either Big Brother or
- 18:59Speaker 2: like Amazing Race, or something that.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Would be great and amazing race, you know, I mean
- 19:02Speaker 1: like something.
- 19:03Speaker 2: That's not Love Island Block. Even I remember thinking stuff like.
- 19:06Speaker 1: That would be so the block. Being an ex builder.
- 19:09Speaker 2: My sister and I, because we were both carpenters, we
- 19:12Speaker 2: joked years and years ago when I was about eighteen,
- 19:14Speaker 2: that we should go on the block and apply for it,
- 19:16Speaker 2: but we just never ended up doing it. Oh, it
- 19:18Speaker 2: would be super fun, but yeah, something like that. Yeah,
- 19:21Speaker 2: I definitely don't think I could go on like a
- 19:23Speaker 2: dating show or Married It First Sight or any of those.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I think it's not really my thing. And no judgment
- 19:27Speaker 2: to anyone who does. It's super entertaining, it's just not
- 19:30Speaker 2: for me.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You don't know how they're editing you, and they editing
- 19:33Speaker 1: you to make you look like a character. They're choosing
- 19:35Speaker 1: who's going to be the villain, who's going to be
- 19:37Speaker 1: the slotty one, who's going to be the ditch that's crazy,
- 19:39Speaker 1: So they're going to paint you in whatever way they want. Yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 1: married It First Sight or I mean being the bachelorette.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Imagine having twenty minutes choose from. If you're single, even
- 19:49Speaker 1: that is your pick. I feel like it could be fine.
- 19:52Speaker 1: It sounds fun on paper, but maybe in real life
- 19:54Speaker 1: it's not so fun.
- 19:55Speaker 2: You know what I think I could do? What is
- 19:58Speaker 2: be a host for one of those shows.
- 19:59Speaker 1: It's becose.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I would find that really entertaining. I remember I worked
- 20:03Speaker 2: for this TV channel. One of the women who worked there,
- 20:06Speaker 2: she was a stylis Stay. She's a good friend of mine,
- 20:08Speaker 2: and she was going to help me, like learn and
- 20:09Speaker 2: train to become a TV host. So cool, and I
- 20:12Speaker 2: just remember thinking like, maybe.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I could do that. That's cool, how fun. I never
- 20:15Speaker 1: know what opportunity will come up.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Hey, like maybe I should apply for something like that.
- 20:19Speaker 2: You know, like Sophie Wrong, She's such a babe, and.
- 20:21Speaker 1: What a fun show to be a host. Oh yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 1: so cool. I've never actually watched that show, but I've
- 20:26Speaker 1: heard she's quite a vible on there. So she do
- 20:29Speaker 1: Love Island? Is that what she hosts?
- 20:30Speaker 2: She used to do a Big Brother at one point,
- 20:32Speaker 2: she did multiple I've seen her in many different things.
- 20:34Speaker 1: It's funny.
- 20:35Speaker 2: She's good at what she does.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I would love to renew my vowels with Steve. Oh yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I don't know. When I was thinking around the twenty
- 20:41Speaker 1: year mark then is it twenty years married or being
- 20:44Speaker 1: together twenty years? I don't know.
- 20:46Speaker 2: You get to make it up.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd like to do that one day, and probably
- 20:49Speaker 1: just asking the kids. Now I have like a whole
- 20:51Speaker 1: big ceremony thing, just asking the kids, go do something special.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you ever have another wedding? No, do an updated wedding? Nah?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Nah? Yeah, I feel that's pretty sacred the first time, like,
- 21:02Speaker 1: but renewing is similar, but a lot more intimately. Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it just gets to be about just you guys.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And the yeah, the love and how far we've come,
- 21:10Speaker 1: how much we've grown to celebrating that, and with our
- 21:13Speaker 1: children because they obviously weren't born there.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 1: So yeah, oh that's beautiful like that.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I could definitely live overseas for a little while. Yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 2: I've want to take it off my bucket list. I've
- 21:23Speaker 2: been wanting to do it since I was probably sixteen.
- 21:26Speaker 2: When I was sixteen, I had like this big dream
- 21:30Speaker 2: of living in New York City, and then I went
- 21:32Speaker 2: and visited New York stay there for a month.
- 21:34Speaker 1: That's so cooled you did that. It was awesome.
- 21:36Speaker 2: It was the best thing, and yeah, reasonably priced as well.
- 21:39Speaker 1: What did you do for work when you're over there.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I was doing carpentry at the time, so Dad allowed
- 21:43Speaker 2: us to take off a month of work.
- 21:45Speaker 1: To go over there.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, cause super flexible, very grateful for that.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 21:50Speaker 2: But yeah, I remember going over there and being like
- 21:53Speaker 2: saying to myself, Okay, cool, we're going to do three
- 21:55Speaker 2: to six months. Yeah. I remember at the time, I
- 21:57Speaker 2: actually wanted to go to college over there. I was thinking,
- 21:59Speaker 2: maybe I can go and do a term over there
- 22:01Speaker 2: and study something so that I could experience the cold.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Oh that was experience.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I know. I always used to see it on TV.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I mean that never ended up happening. I feel like
- 22:12Speaker 2: I've gotten so close to living overseas multiple times, but
- 22:15Speaker 2: for some reason, it just wasn't the path I was
- 22:17Speaker 2: meant to take. Either that or I bitched it. I
- 22:19Speaker 2: can't tell. It's like I wasn't ready to take the leave.
- 22:23Speaker 2: So I remember in Covid I almost moved to Costa
- 22:26Speaker 2: Rica with my best friend and my partner at the time.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Then it was we were going to go to Austin
- 22:31Speaker 2: in Texas with my best friend then Dubai almost so.
- 22:34Speaker 2: But when I moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney
- 22:36Speaker 2: a year and a half ago, I was this close
- 22:39Speaker 2: to moving to Dubai. I was looking at apartments, I
- 22:41Speaker 2: was looking at pricing. I was like about to reach
- 22:43Speaker 2: out to realtors and then it didn't work out.
- 22:46Speaker 1: What made you go nut?
- 22:47Speaker 2: I met my partner at the time.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Yeah, so I'd moved.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Up to the Gold Coast and I kid you, not
- 22:52Speaker 2: like five days later I met him. Cool, obviously, I'm
- 22:54Speaker 2: meant to be here, yes, for whatever season this is
- 22:56Speaker 2: going to stund purpose for And.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Where else was another place you nearly moved Bali.
- 23:01Speaker 2: It's just never happened. And Miami, Miami would be for
- 23:05Speaker 2: a little while.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, love, but Miam is just a
- 23:09Speaker 1: big Gold coast so similar.
- 23:11Speaker 2: But full of Americans.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's quite a party lifestyle though, that's true. Yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 1: there's a lot of partying. I'm sure there's different size
- 23:18Speaker 1: to it too.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I've heard there's a lack of a better word, conscious
- 23:21Speaker 2: community there.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I suppose it would be anywhere you go.
- 23:24Speaker 2: They're Austin, Texas.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Austin that's so known for it, isn't it. Yeah, I'd
- 23:28Speaker 1: love to go there. That's cool. I'd love to do
- 23:30Speaker 1: a stint in Bali. I'd love to escape an Australian winter.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Even though winters are not bad compared to New Zealand
- 23:36Speaker 1: and other places. However, I just don't like the cold. Yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 1: So I'd love to even just do a month or
- 23:40Speaker 1: two in Bali, like June July. Go over there and
- 23:43Speaker 1: just be in the heat and live the lifestyle.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Being on scooters, living in a villa. I know, good
- 23:49Speaker 2: food all the time, yeah, having a cleaner every day,
- 23:52Speaker 2: not having to make your bed in the morning.
- 23:53Speaker 1: How good. We're talking to mix about this the other
- 23:56Speaker 1: day though, and she was saying, I wonder if I
- 23:58Speaker 1: lived over there, would it lose the sparkle that I
- 24:00Speaker 1: love about it, which you kind of get a little
- 24:02Speaker 1: bit used to it or over it when you go
- 24:05Speaker 1: for a holiday. It's so exciting. I wonder if you'd
- 24:07Speaker 1: lose that, would it just be like, oh my god,
- 24:09Speaker 1: this is so epic. Every day is cool, just such
- 24:12Speaker 1: a fun lifestyle.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like it takes all the things that
- 24:15Speaker 2: we value as well. It does fitness, good quality, sun,
- 24:19Speaker 2: you know walking around the swimmers, very relaxed lifestyle. It's
- 24:24Speaker 2: not very fast paced, not city like a city.
- 24:28Speaker 1: She didn't have that rat race energy.
- 24:30Speaker 2: And everyone there, I feel, is very community based there
- 24:34Speaker 2: as well, which is really nice. They're very kind, they're
- 24:37Speaker 2: very grateful. That's the big one for me. They they're
- 24:40Speaker 2: so grateful and they receive so little. It makes me sad.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Even the nanny that we've hired two trips have been
- 24:45Speaker 1: with the kids. We've hired the same money. She's beautiful,
- 24:47Speaker 1: her name's Phoebe, and they just get paid such little.
- 24:50Speaker 1: It's seven to ten dollars an hour, and both times
- 24:54Speaker 1: we've just given her so much extra. It's like you
- 24:56Speaker 1: deserve it. You're looking after our children. Do such a
- 24:58Speaker 1: beautiful job. And then through COVID they lost all their work.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Steve and I just send her a bunch of money
- 25:03Speaker 1: because we knew she had no work. Yeah, that's a
- 25:05Speaker 1: livelihood so beautifully, you guys, and they're just so lovely. Yeah,
- 25:10Speaker 1: sad when that happens.
- 25:11Speaker 2: It's so hard.
- 25:12Speaker 1: They work very hard. They're very hard workers. So yeah,
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'd love to do a Stinton Balley.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Good work ethic. Yeah, maybe I'll put it on the
- 25:18Speaker 2: plane somewhere down the line.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeap, what would you not do? Hands down? Nothing can
- 25:24Speaker 1: convince you otherwise. Fuck no hard, no hard, no.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Bundee jump.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I can't do it. I can't run my head around it.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I jumped out of a plane before, but I won't
- 25:34Speaker 2: bud you jump. Yeah. I don't know why. I know
- 25:36Speaker 2: they're very different, and I'm free falling when I jump
- 25:38Speaker 2: out of a plane. But skydiving I didn't have the fear.
- 25:41Speaker 2: But bundee jumping for some reason, the thought of knowing
- 25:43Speaker 2: that something has got me and then it snaps potentially,
- 25:47Speaker 2: I've just seen way too many things go wrong with
- 25:49Speaker 2: that stuff. Whereas skydiving, maybe I just haven't heard. I
- 25:52Speaker 2: haven't heard any bad stories.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I've had bad stories with both. I think because the
- 25:56Speaker 1: Dean's partner base jumps, yes, and skydives, So I've heard
- 26:00Speaker 1: a lot of bad, sad stories. There are three things
- 26:03Speaker 1: I wouldn't do. Bune jump, sky dive or base jumping.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Oh we're talking about that flying one. Yeah, they just
- 26:09Speaker 1: jump off and stop flying. They've got those wings suit, yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 1: suits of space jumping. I would never use. Someone offers
- 26:14Speaker 1: me twenty million dollars tomorrow. I still couldn't do it.
- 26:17Speaker 1: There's just no amount of money that could ever make
- 26:20Speaker 1: me do any of that. It's endorphins too. Like my
- 26:23Speaker 1: girlfriend whose partner does it, he almost gets like a
- 26:25Speaker 1: bit of a low state if he doesn't get to
- 26:26Speaker 1: go and do it. She's described it. She's like, you
- 26:29Speaker 1: know when you go to the gym and you have
- 26:30Speaker 1: those dolphins flowing, and if you don't go to the
- 26:32Speaker 1: gym for two weeks, you start to feel like, oh
- 26:34Speaker 1: that is good. Yeah, that's what he gets, Like, Wow,
- 26:36Speaker 1: it's the adrenaline, the dolphins, it's the thrill, it's the freedom,
- 26:40Speaker 1: it's the nature, it's the whole thing. It's a package
- 26:42Speaker 1: for him, and he just loves it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: You can see why people chase it.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and every day must seem a little bit boring
- 26:46Speaker 1: compared to doing something so extreme like that. It's almost
- 26:49Speaker 1: like a drug that they need their.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Hit totally and need adjust as well to that level
