Transcript
- 0:00I'm Christina.
- 0:01And I'm team.
- 0:01And this is the pretty and Pink again podcast where motherhood meets rediscovery.
- 0:17I like your outfit today.
- 0:18Thank you.
- 0:18Are those those?
- 0:19Um, these are the pants.
- 0:20The pants.
- 0:21Pants.
- 0:21Yeah.
- 0:22I know, but I like the, like the cardigan you have with it.
- 0:24That's cute too.
- 0:25Are you going out here?
- 0:26No, you look so pretty.
- 0:27Thank you.
- 0:28How are you?
- 0:29Good.
- 0:29Yeah, I'm good.
- 0:30Yeah.
- 0:31It's been a week.
- 0:31Yeah.
- 0:32We, t and I both had, I kind of feel like this happens to everybody.
- 0:37Mm-hmm.
- 0:37Like at the same time, but like mm-hmm.
- 0:38This week, so we're recording early obviously.
- 0:41So this will air next week.
- 0:42But it's it's currently Friday of the previous week.
- 0:45Mm-hmm.
- 0:45So you, Pippa's will have to think back to be like, was last week, oh, did I have a shit week?
- 0:50Was last week?
- 0:50Just a shit show for everybody.
- 0:53I feel like everybody that I talked to was like chickens with their head cut off.
- 0:56Mm-hmm.
- 0:56Like just everybody was just.
- 0:58In a mood, first of all, and just I don't know, like nothing was going anybody's way.
- 1:03I know even my kids were like, I had a bad day Tam.
- 1:06Like, what happened?
- 1:07They were like, I don't know, I, we just had a bad day.
- 1:09Yeah.
- 1:09Just like everybody was in mood.
- 1:10I can't really explain it either.
- 1:12I don't know if it's the time of year or if it's just, don't know.
- 1:15It must have been one of those weeks, just one of those weeks, but I know, yeah.
- 1:18One of those weeks.
- 1:19So Mila sees a therapist mm-hmm.
- 1:21Who's like been really integral in helping.
- 1:23She has like a lot of fears I've shared on here before.
- 1:25Like she has so many fears, like fears of leaving me, fears of everything and all of this therapy that we've been doing.
- 1:31I'm like, I just doesn't feel right to me because like I can't get her on the bus in the morning.
- 1:35It's not connecting.
- 1:36It's just not connecting.
- 1:37So I had reached out to her therapist.
- 1:39I was like, we need another approach.
- 1:40I don't feel like it's working, like I trust you, but like we can, we change things up a bit.
- 1:45And she's like, why don't you come in without her and we'll work on it.
- 1:50So she calls her method.
- 1:53Empowering, but, but firm.
- 1:55Mm-hmm.
- 1:55It's supportive and empowering, but firm like we're not gonna keep the bus driver waiting.
- 2:00Right.
- 2:00Right.
- 2:00You have to get on the bus or we're not gonna keep the people in line.
- 2:03You're behind us waiting.
- 2:04You're, you have to get out because before I felt like I was allowing her to run the show.
- 2:11You're catering didn't so much shame her.
- 2:13Yes.
- 2:13Right, right.
- 2:13Yes.
- 2:14And I was like, I don't think this is right.
- 2:15This doesn't feel good.
- 2:16I want to be firm with her.
- 2:17Mm-hmm.
- 2:17Like, you have to get on the bus'cause I have to go to work.
- 2:20Mm-hmm.
- 2:20Like very concrete.
- 2:22So she said, so I liked that.
- 2:24And she said, and I was like, and I'm sick of everybody being in a bad mood in this house.
- 2:29Like I'm sick of it.
- 2:30And she said, you need to have a family meeting and tell everybody that the first thing that they say to you in the morning is, good morning mom.
- 2:36That's it.
- 2:36Yeah.
- 2:37Set the tone.
- 2:37I'm hungry.
- 2:38A or where's my phone?
- 2:40Or we're out of eggos like, good morning mom.
- 2:43Yes.
- 2:44And then everybody has to say three positive things.
- 2:46That's good.
- 2:47I need to start my day like that too.
- 2:48Three, three positive things.
- 2:52Doesn't matter what they are.
- 2:54And one has to be school related.
- 2:55'cause one of my kids refuses to go to school.
- 2:58Yeah.
- 2:58So this morning I said, Hey.
- 3:01And she goes, oh, good morning mom.
- 3:03And then she like, oh, did it, did it right away.
- 3:05She, yeah.
- 3:05Yeah.
- 3:06Good morning mom.
- 3:06And then,'cause I was waiting for her to like greet me and so her three positive things were cute.
- 3:12One was like, I'm wearing purple sneakers and I get, have gym today or Right.
- 3:17Whatever, but it was such a quick, I like that.
- 3:19It was a quick tip, gr gratitude, which is what we say to start with.
- 3:23That's what they always say.
- 3:24I think I love this.
- 3:24It's a practice gratitude, but it was in the most basic form, right?
- 3:28So basic.
- 3:28That's nice.
- 3:29I like even starting that as almost like a little like daily family tradition because you're kind of like building on it.
- 3:36I really feel like gratitude doesn't come easy to everybody.
- 3:40I'm sure it comes easy to some people, but like it's a practice.
- 3:43That's what they call it.
- 3:44It's literally a practice.
- 3:45So you have to practice it right in order for it to become like part of your every day and like second nature to you.
- 3:50So it's like good that you're doing it early and I like that.
- 3:52Everyone has to do it.
- 3:53Everybody has to do it.
- 3:55Yeah.
- 3:55Like just good advice.
- 3:56Just start your day.
- 3:56Good morning.
- 3:57Like I was like, I feel like this family has forgotten their manners.
- 4:00Like they remember their manners when they're out.
- 4:02Yeah.
- 4:02But they forget.
- 4:03Forget them when they're home.
- 4:04Yeah.
- 4:05So we had a little check yourself.
- 4:06And then the other thing I thought that was good was she said.
- 4:10The bus is probably uncomfortable for her because she's already, she's leaving like all it's like dysregulated.
- 4:16Yeah.
- 4:17So hit her senses and I was like, okay.
- 4:19She's like, get her something pleasant to smell.
- 4:21Mm-hmm.
- 4:22Before she gets on the bus or during, like in her little toolkit.
- 4:25Oh.
- 4:25So we put the scented hand sanitizer in there, get her squishy something to squish or whatever.
- 4:31And there was one other thing.
- 4:32Oh, sound.
- 4:33But I couldn't send her with like music or whatever.
- 4:35So we hit those other two senses.
- 4:37But remember when Christine was on and talking about us regulating?
- 4:40Yes.
- 4:41It's so crazy how some of the things really do start, like it's all related.
- 4:46Like they're all the same, even totally.
- 4:48So instead of me shoving her on the bus saying like, you're fine, I can say like, you got this, but also here's a couple things in case you're not,'cause that wouldn't work for us either.
- 4:58So sometimes it's really as simple as thinking it in terms of yourself, like what would calm you down?
- 5:03What would make you feel better?
- 5:05A little shocked to my system.
- 5:06And then some tools.
- 5:07Yeah, I that.
- 5:08But anyways, I, I wanted to share that because I thought that sometimes when I get information that I'm like, oh, I like this.
- 5:16Yeah, I wanna share it.
- 5:17Because it didn't, it wasn't crazy like ground.
- 5:20Like it was good morning.
- 5:21And three things easy.
- 5:23I'm gonna look forward to easy and something you could do every day.
- 5:25My week.
- 5:26Tell me my week started chaotically it.
- 5:29This probably like, I don't wanna say set me off, but so Layla decided to potty train herself.
- 5:37Yes.
- 5:37Like t just like jumped out of her chair.
- 5:39What it wa I, so I am not ready.
- 5:41Is she going to college next?
- 5:42I'm, I am not ready for this for so many reasons of, I and this is parenting in a nutshell, right?
- 5:50Like we have just come up for air, like, right?
- 5:54Like I feel like I can leave the house with a small tote.
- 5:58Like I maybe have a couple diapers stashed away, a very small amount of wipes.
- 6:03Like I can, I feel like we were just.
- 6:05Like rounding a corner and being like, wow, this is feeling like a little bit easier.
- 6:11And I was not in any way, shape or form ready for any sort of major transition.
- 6:16'cause I'm just like, I wanna just like live and breathe in this moment right now.
- 6:21And she just decided that today is the day.
- 6:25And not only like is today the day, like the moment is the moment.
- 6:28So I had no chance to like, prepare anything.
- 6:31It was just like, I'm not wearing a diaper anymore.
- 6:34Okay.
- 6:34Like verbally.
- 6:35She, we had to do, we did like the pants free method for a couple of days.
- 6:38Oh.
- 6:38And that's just what, so I was just like, but, but this is happening today.
- 6:41And it's like the middle of the week.
- 6:43They usually recommend that it's like, you know, they say like, oh stay, you know, when you have a break.
- 6:48Which would've been great'cause that could've been.
- 6:50Next week, which is when everybody's home from school.
- 6:52But it's like, of course, no, it was the middle of the week.
- 6:55It was like, this is happening now.
- 6:57It's like, we still have activities and we have drop offs, and we have all these things.
- 7:01So did did she do, when you took her like to her class?
- 7:03I was having a panic attack because I was, but I just, I had to just ride with it.
- 7:08I was like, I don't want her to pee like on a mat out somewhere, but was like in the car seat or whatever.
- 7:13Yeah, no, but I was like, I just have to kind of trust her.
- 7:16And I did.
- 7:17I had, I had no choice.
- 7:18I literally was like, okay, this is, and how'd it go?
- 7:19It's been going great, but it's just, I was just like, wow.
- 7:22She probably doesn't look how that diaper looks in her outfit.
- 7:25No.
- 7:25She's like, is not cute.
- 7:26And she, this is also like classic second child from everything that I've heard.
- 7:31Mm-hmm.
- 7:31Is that mm-hmm.
- 7:31You know, I feel like we just went through this.
- 7:33I actually looked at Raja and he was like, did we not, am I doing the math wrong?
- 7:37Like, did we not just do this?
- 7:40And I'm like, we literally just, you should have just done at the same time.
- 7:43I'm like, I feel like that's the, our kids are about like 20 ish months apart.
- 7:47Yeah.
- 7:48And so I just feel like with.
- 7:50The age gap being kind of close and then, and her being a girl and her being the second.
- 7:54Yep.
- 7:55Her being the girl.
- 7:55And the second one, it's just, it makes for, I blink and I'm like, we just went through this phase and now we're doing it again.
- 8:03But they're not close enough where we can really do a lot at the same time.
- 8:06But it just feels like there's there's no break in between anything.
- 8:10But I'm like, I am gonna just blink and within like a year I'm gonna have two kids potty trained.
- 8:16Like it just, which is just wild in a day you're gonna have have two kids potty trained.
- 8:20Yes.
- 8:21Vincent and Joseph potty trained basically at the same time.
- 8:23And they're two years apart because Vince at two, like Le was ready, was like, yeah, I'm good.
- 8:28I got it.
- 8:28I've been watching.
- 8:29I'm good.
- 8:29I know.
- 8:29All the same.
- 8:30Get rid of my crib.
- 8:30Yep.
- 8:31Put me in the bed.
- 8:31Yep.
- 8:32And then I remember when we taught Joseph how to ride a bike, he was like almost seven.
- 8:35That's what's gonna happen like a two wheeler.
- 8:37And Vince, it was.
- 8:38Five.
- 8:38And he was like, yeah, get me one one too.
- 8:40I got it.
- 8:40Yeah, that's what I feel like we are at the stage two we're doing that with bikes this spring, it's like we're gonna have to get two.
- 8:46Like, you know,'cause like she can't be on a small little balance bike and he's on a real bike, like she's gonna be on the real bike too.
- 8:52So I'm just like, we're at this point where we have to do some of the things together.
- 8:56But this one I was just not prepared for like mentally swimming.
- 9:00Swimming, but even thinking about learning to swim, all could be done together.
- 9:02She's gonna learn all together, all the like learning things can be done together.
- 9:05But the transitions I was just like not prepared for.
- 9:09But I guess I'm glad it kind of was like ripping a bandaid off where I'm like, I guess I would've never been ready because I don't like to inconvenience myself anymore than I feel like I am.
- 9:18So I was just like, you were like, this has been working for me.
- 9:22Yeah.
- 9:22I'm like, this has been working for me.
- 9:24And she's like, this hasn't been working for me.
- 9:26So like I'm running the show now.
- 9:28Not love her.
- 9:28Yeah, love.
- 9:29I respect her because I'm like, you just are gonna go through life.
- 9:32Nope, I make the calls.
- 9:34That's fine.
- 9:35And here we are.
- 9:36So that just, yeah, that was, that was part of my like bio panic attack this week.
- 9:40I love how you said, I gotta trust her.
- 9:43I had no choice.
- 9:45Just gotta trust her.
- 9:45Like no, there was like, it was not a conversation.
- 9:47Like with with Leo who's my first, we were like, okay, so next week we're gonna start this.
- 9:53And he was like, okay.
- 9:54And with this, it was like I am no longer doing this and I didn't have a choice.
- 9:59So it was, you know, it was just like, okay, I guess we have to roll with it.
- 10:02It's just, she has been in every way just testing me to roll with it.
- 10:08Mm-hmm Like that's just how I have had to be like,'cause there's just no other, there's no other avenue.
- 10:13Quite literally the cutest thing ever.
- 10:15Thank you.
- 10:15She is so freaking cute.
- 10:17Oh my god.
- 10:18I just wanna squeeze her and now she's going to be a potty trained little cutie.
- 10:21So we're just, I love it.
- 10:23We are like moving and grooving and, but this is so exciting though for you for summer, it's for bathing suits was caning it.
- 10:28What happen happen in the summer?
- 10:29It's pool.
- 10:30You don't have to worry about, it's like the diaper pool.
- 10:32It's, this is great.
- 10:33I know.
- 10:33And you're winning.
- 10:34I will be back.
- 10:34'cause now this week I did have to like.
- 10:37Reload up a large tote because I had about 75 outfit changes and like things just in case that's sorry.
- 10:42But I'm like, I have a feeling that that will be behind us soon.
- 10:45And then I will be the mom with like a purse.
- 10:48Yeah.
- 10:48Cross button.
- 10:49Imagine.
- 10:49Mm-hmm.
- 10:50Like I can't, I'm like, wow we're almost there.
- 10:52Always.
- 10:53Don't ever get rid of the wipes though.
- 10:55No.
- 10:55Those will stay.
- 10:56The lights a little station in my car for like that type of stuff.
- 10:59Of course you do.
- 10:59You have, do you know?
- 11:00Of course you do.
- 11:01Ava got a bloody nose in our car recently.
- 11:03Yeah.
- 11:03You always need the wipe.
- 11:04And I did.
- 11:05I was not prepared and I took off my sock and I used my sock for bloody nose.
- 11:10I always have Is a box tissue, like no paper towels, nothing.
- 11:14No.
- 11:14You have to have like a little bit of an emergency kit.
- 11:16I need kit.
- 11:16A restock.
- 11:17Yeah.
- 11:17I need, not only do I need a restock, I just need a re Yeah.
- 11:20Everything.
- 11:21I need to just get this kit.
- 11:23Anyway.
- 11:24What we're gonna talk, we talk about today piggybacks a little bit off of last week's episode and we got a lot of great feedback from that.
- 11:32But we're gonna be talking about drama today.
- 11:35And this has been something that we had been wanting to talk about for several weeks.
- 11:39Drama was a requested, yes, it was a requested topic.
- 11:43It was a requested topic, but it was used negatively amongst females.
- 11:48Yes, always.
- 11:49And when we were looking up drama, I was like, wait a second.
- 11:51Drama is not just like when two people fight, or like when you're watching Hell's Wives and they're right.
- 11:58Crucifying one another.
- 11:59Right?
- 11:59Drama is what plays in your head.
- 12:04It's very internal, over and over and over again.
- 12:05After an incident or after some An interaction encounter.
- 12:11An encounter encounter after an email, after you.
- 12:15After you read something, right?
- 12:16Like, and drama can be an extension of how you perceived something.
- 12:20Right?
- 12:20And so I, we thought that would be a great way to sort of introduce this topic to our listeners and dissect it down.
- 12:27Yes.
- 12:28I feel like in, in general, females get.
- 12:32We talked about this with Christine a couple weeks ago.
- 12:34How you get told, right?
- 12:36Like, oh, you're so dramatic.
- 12:38That's something that she talked about that we don't wanna be using that verbiage around our, our daughters, especially because we're fed that anyway, that like females can be a little bit more dramatic and theatrical with emotions.
- 12:51And so it does get tricky that it's almost sort of like embedded right into the way that we think.
- 12:58She says she likes sensitive much better.
- 13:00Yes.
- 13:00Because your sensitivity level to things allow you to either replay things over and over and your head or pause, rephrase and like move past it.
- 13:09Yep.
- 13:09And move past, yeah.
- 13:10Or your level of sensitivity with some things will allow you to maybe interpret something.
- 13:17Differently.
- 13:18So it's not like T said, drama is not always a blowout fight.
- 13:24It's not something that maybe you physically could see.
- 13:27And honestly, most of the time nothing really even transpired or happened.
- 13:34You know what I mean?
- 13:35It's more just like it's the after and the replaying in your head.
- 13:41It's always the after.
- 13:42It's always the after.
- 13:43It's always the after.
- 13:43Like if someone filmed the actual moment, I don't know that you actually would see anything, if that makes sense.
- 13:50Right.
- 13:50It's the visual thing or there would be 10 different perceptions Yes.
- 13:52From that.
- 13:53Yes.
- 13:53Like people points of view.
- 13:55There's always different points of view.
- 13:57Right.
- 13:58And perception is.
- 14:01A meaning that we've then assigned to what just occurred.
- 14:05Mm-hmm.
- 14:05So anybody can have different meanings, you know, and if you are replaying these different potential meanings, and then maybe changing the narrative, that is drama.
- 14:16Mm-hmm.
- 14:17And I think that it's important as a person who is self-aware mm-hmm.
- 14:21To replay certain things.
- 14:22Mm-hmm.
- 14:22Because if you didn't replay anything, then you would just go through your life what, not paying attention or not being like insightful or taking accountability.
- 14:32Yep.
- 14:33So I do think that there is some level of replay that is like, good drama.
- 14:37Important.
- 14:37Yeah.
- 14:37Good drama.
- 14:38It's almost like it makes you self aware, you know?
- 14:41Exactly.
- 14:42Right.
- 14:42Exactly right.
- 14:43And then I think that just like with anything, like too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
- 14:47And then when there's a constant replay and you don't trust yourself with the information and you have to go to not just one trusted friend, but.
- 14:58Then you throw it up into five different group chats and you're running it by all these different people.
- 15:02Mm-hmm.
- 15:02That's where you bring other people in.
- 15:05Mm-hmm.
- 15:05And that's drama.
- 15:06Do you do that or do you find yourself Oh, I've totally have done that.
- 15:10Yeah.
- 15:11And I think that with getting it bit in the ass and then me being the source of the drama mm-hmm.
- 15:17After doing that.
- 15:18Mm-hmm.
- 15:18Learning that you can't trust people with your information.
- 15:21Mm-hmm.
- 15:21And also learning to trust myself and learning that I have a very trusted friend that I can tell things to.
- 15:29Yep.
- 15:29And I'm gonna say like a trusted friend.
- 15:31'cause usually it's like one Yeah.
- 15:33Per issue, right.
- 15:34That I can share things with.
- 15:35Like you, for instance, that I do less and less of it.
- 15:40Right.
- 15:41Because then you don't feel like you need to get validation or maybe you don't need to rehash it with like several different people or people drama from all over the place.
- 15:48Right.
- 15:48That's drama.
- 15:49And I think that when you learn to trust yourself a little bit more, you replay things maybe less.
- 15:54Yeah.
- 15:54And less.
- 15:54Yeah.
- 15:55I think that that's a good point.
- 15:56I also think that it is a good point that you just brought up because we talked about this in our Girl on Girl crime episode.
- 16:02Yeah.
- 16:02Like however long ago that was.
- 16:04That was back in the day over the summer.
- 16:05That was a really good one.
- 16:06And that we talked about how.
- 16:09We're trying to create less girl on girl crime.
- 16:12And so one of our kind of tips that we talked about, not saying that we do it, but just like something that would help is to not do that, right?
- 16:20Like not go and talk about the event or whatever is going on with like this group and then this group, and then this person and this person because it festers the drama.
- 16:32At the same time, you just made the distinction that like sometimes you need to talk about it because yes, I am one of the people that like if I keep too much in my head, I think I create more drama.
- 16:43Sometimes if I talk about it with, again, with a trusted person or maybe somebody who is not gonna feed the drama, they're gonna just look at something like a little bit like maybe from both sides or maybe from all points of view, or someone who's a little bit more neutral in a situation.
- 17:00I think that sometimes I need that point of view to bring me back to reality and like you almost need somebody that's gonna help diffuse it, right?
- 17:09And if I left everything in my own head, I would create drama out of everything.
- 17:14Right?
- 17:14You know what I mean?
- 17:14Like the way my mind thinks.
- 17:16So it's a weird place to be in because sometimes you need to like let things go, but then at the same time, sometimes if something's festering in your head, it's not always.
- 17:26The worst thing to then talk about it and almost like c, create a little bit of drama to like.
- 17:33Diffuse the drama, you know?
- 17:35Well, I think if your intention is you, you have all of these thoughts playing in your head.
- 17:39Yeah.
- 17:39Over and over and over again.
- 17:40I clearly am making it worse.
- 17:42That's what's called a spiral.
- 17:43Yeah.
- 17:43A spiral.
- 17:43You tweet, I'm me, a very live there medical term.
- 17:47Yep.
- 17:47Spiral.
- 17:48A spiral.
- 17:48I live spiral.
- 17:50And if you're trying to prevent a spiral or stop a spiral or unwind a little, maybe you do need like a jolt.
- 17:55Yep.
- 17:56And a pause.
- 17:56Yep.
- 17:57And that you need to phone a friend.
- 17:58For sure.
- 17:59You know?
- 18:00And I think that is what friends are for sure.
- 18:02I don't think that makes you a drama queen.
- 18:03No.
- 18:03I think that is what friends are intended to do.
- 18:06I agree.
- 18:06Agree.
- 18:06Replay things from a point of view.
- 18:07From a trusted person.
- 18:08Yes.
- 18:09I agree.
- 18:09And I think that it's good to do that.
- 18:11Yeah.
- 18:12I just, I just was like, ooh, I feel like a little bit like we're going back on our, what we were talking about, but there's a distinction to make, you know, and like, you don't have to keep everything bottled up, but, so you're the main character in that.
- 18:24It's your feelings, right, that are.
- 18:27Being hurt right at that moment.
- 18:28Right.
- 18:28And it's your thoughts that are spiraling.
- 18:30Right?
- 18:30And tho those are your own personal thoughts, you know, that you are trying to gain control of, right, right.
- 18:36Let's go over what actually happened versus what we made it mean.
- 18:42Right.
- 18:42So I feel like a good couple examples of this are like, she didn't respond to my last text, yep.
- 18:50And you're like, what the, does that mean?
- 18:52Like, you know what I mean?
- 18:53Did I do something?
- 18:54Is this weird?
- 18:55You know, like, am I right?
- 18:56Am I creating something like, is she mad at me?
- 18:58Like, is Right, and that's all drama is, right?
- 19:00That's all like the story.
- 19:02The text went on red.
- 19:03Or like, if we didn't get a brand deal, like, does this brand think we have shitty content?
- 19:07Right.
- 19:07Do they not wanna work with us?
- 19:09Right.
- 19:09Did they not like our offer?
- 19:10Yep.
- 19:11Like, what, what's wrong with our business?
- 19:13Like, and then it's all these other Yep.
- 19:15We're creating a narrative of something that didn't actually occur.
- 19:18What actually occurred is that a brand didn't respond back to an email.
- 19:22Right?
- 19:23Yes.
- 19:23Something went on.
- 19:24Right.
- 19:25Like a circle, a text went unanswered because somebody's busy.
- 19:28Maybe somebody like, oh, her tone seemed really weird.
- 19:31Like, is she mad?
- 19:33You know what I mean?
- 19:33Right.
- 19:33Like, I feel like sometimes you have to just look at that as like, well that's factually what happened, maybe.
- 19:40Right.
- 19:40But.
- 19:41That's it.
- 19:42That's the whole, those, those are the only facts if you're investigator, all of my Real Housewives fans out there, if you put your investigating caps on right now, yeah.
- 19:49The truth and the only facts you had is that an email or a text have remained unresponded to, right, right.
- 19:55All of the other stuff.
- 19:57Right.
- 19:57The hearsay is hearsay and were just digging for dirt here.
- 20:00Yes, yes.
- 20:01But I mean, I do that all the time.
- 20:03I do that all the time.
- 20:04Like even with my, all my friends are probably like sitting there like, this bitch does not respond to text messages.
- 20:09I'm the worst.
- 20:10Like, and it literally doesn't mean anything except I'm overwhelmed and I can't get to your text currently.
- 20:16Like that's all it means is like, I thought about it.
- 20:18I also might have responded in your head.
- 20:20I mentally respond to a lot of things.
- 20:22Like where I literal, you laughed out literally sometimes.
- 20:24I'm like, am I like a nut job?
- 20:26Like, I swear I'm, I responded to that.
- 20:29I mentally did it.
- 20:31But I physically didn't do it, you know?
- 20:32But like, it really, a lot of sometimes means nothing.
- 20:36Like, I'm not mad at you, I just didn't respond to your text message.
- 20:40I'm sorry.
- 20:40So somebody might sit there and create drama out of that, like worried like that they're, you know, that something happened and it's like, Nope that's all it is.
- 20:48It's just the fact of like, Christina is a shitty text responder.
- 20:52Like, that's all it means.
- 20:53Okay.
- 20:53So what if somebody did that to you and you were on your eal face?
- 20:56I would spiral.
- 20:59I would spiral on my luteal face.
- 21:01I don't t that I was in my luteal face and she's been laughing at it all day.
- 21:05I'm like, I really ling over that right now.
- 21:08Because you're in your nineties banger face.
- 21:10You're in your matcha phase.
- 21:11Yes.
- 21:11For the next four days you're in this.
- 21:13Oh, I'm always, yes.
- 21:15I'm always in an era that's what I'm in right now.
- 21:18Oh my god.
- 21:19So emotional based on, you know, whatever and then your reaction.
- 21:23Yes, it's, and so.
- 21:25Then if you are in a reactive state mm-hmm.
- 21:27And then you start bringing others into it.
- 21:29Oof.
- 21:30Yeah.
- 21:30That is some serious drama.
- 21:32Yeah.
- 21:33Yeah.
- 21:34Again, I, I do that all the time.
- 21:36Yeah.
- 21:36Nick's like in the OR and he's like, do I have to take your call?
- 21:39I'm like, yes, it's an emergency.
- 21:4210 out of 10 emergency.
- 21:44And what is it?
- 21:45It's like, nobody, I can't get in touch with this person.
- 21:50Have you heard from them?
- 21:51We all do it.
- 21:52He's like, we all do it, but it's, he's like, you never answer my calls or texts.
- 21:56It's so really karma.
- 21:57Literally, like, I think a good way to like think of it, because this is like what I have to tell myself.
- 22:03The event is neutral, right?
- 22:05Yeah.
- 22:05Like the facts are neutral.
- 22:07The story is not like the story that I create is not mm-hmm.
- 22:11Like, and it's also not necessary a lot of the times, you know, so you replay mm-hmm.
- 22:17Replay it over and over and over again.
- 22:18It always, it always starts very small with something factual you reinforce Yes.
- 22:24By phoning a friend for validation.
- 22:26No, I, this is, this is like my order of events, right?
- 22:29Oh.
- 22:29So it starts with something small.
- 22:32Okay.
- 22:33Like a thought.
- 22:34And then it's, well, that was weird, right?
- 22:38You know, it's like literally just like, I'm laughing because this happens to us all like this.
- 22:44This has happened multiple times.
- 22:46We've been you've been on the receiving end.
- 22:47No, we're together.
- 22:48You have processed these thoughts with me.
- 22:49We processed them together.
- 22:51Because we're in the inner, we're in the inner bubble.
- 22:52We can share Why would she say it like that?
- 22:54Right?
- 22:54Like that's like, that's another one.
- 22:57And then it's like, is there a problem?
- 23:00Like, does she have a problem with me?
- 23:01Is she mad?
- 23:02Like, I'm just using this as like an example.
- 23:04Yeah.
- 23:04And like.
- 23:06Now I have to think about every interaction I've ever had.
- 23:10Like, and dissect it.
- 23:11Yeah.
- 23:11Now we gotta go back, we gotta go back, gotta go into the archives.
- 23:14We have to dig deep into the archives, replay all the things.
- 23:18Mm-hmm.
- 23:18And, and investigate and create mm-hmm.
- 23:22A story that probably doesn't exist.
- 23:24Mm-hmm.
- 23:25Right.
- 23:25For the most part.
- 23:26And now we're like, now we're like 20 minutes in.
- 23:30And you're reacting to the story.
- 23:31Yeah.
- 23:32Not to the neutral facts.
- 23:33I'm also like wasting my freaking day.
- 23:35You know what I mean?
- 23:36Like, I'm, I'm time wasting.
- 23:37I'm energy wasting.
- 23:39Uh, but I literally know I'm doing it.
- 23:40I'm laughing about it because it's funny when I'm talking about it, but it's not funny when it's in my head.
- 23:45When you talk about like not having the same 24 hours, this is a huge time suck.
- 23:50This is a huge time suck of my very limited time that I always have.
- 23:54You know?
- 23:54What do you do all day?
- 23:56Just dissect bullshit.
- 23:57Spiral.
- 23:58Spiral.
- 23:59Just anybody else worry about things.
- 24:03Worry about insignificant nonsense.
- 24:06Everything's fine.
- 24:07Yep.
- 24:07Everything is fine.
- 24:08Yep.
- 24:08But who did we have on here that was talking about manifesting?
- 24:11Lauren?
- 24:12Mm-hmm.
- 24:12Was talking about manifesting.
- 24:13Mm-hmm.
- 24:13And she was, and you were like, listen, who cares if it's woo woo?
- 24:17I would rather spend my time thinking about positive things, positive things, than dissect all this negative stuff that I replay in my head.
- 24:24That's like honestly the opposite, right?
- 24:27Where it's like you should just let that roll off.
- 24:29I honestly like envy people who have that naturally.
- 24:32My husband's, one of those people drives me crazy.
- 24:35Like he's just always like.
- 24:36Looking at like the best case scenario and I'm like looking at him like, how do you do that?
- 24:41You know, like why, how do you just like look at a situation like half full like, and then you, and then you spiral.
- 24:49'cause you're like, what does he think about me and my like, you know?
- 24:54Or he'll look at me, me and be like, how can you not just like, make this a thing?
- 24:58You know?
- 24:58Like, can you just relax?
- 25:00Can you just calm down about it?
- 25:01I'm like, no I can't.
- 25:02There's two parts to that because.
- 25:04Your gut is usually not wrong.
- 25:06It's true.
- 25:07It your gut is usually not wrong, but sometimes all of the energy that you put towards the spiral is unnecessary.
- 25:13But I feel like why do I always need to be right?
- 25:16Like, you know what I mean?
- 25:17Like it's like my gut is never wrong.
- 25:19It's very true.
- 25:19A lot of the times I feel I have good intuition.
- 25:22I feel like most women feel like they have good intuition and your gut is never wrong, right?
- 25:27Usually when you feel it in your gut, but also sometimes you have when it's like little stuff that can make you spiral.
- 25:35You just have to be like, even if your gut is right, who cares?
- 25:39You know what I mean?
- 25:39Like, because otherwise you could just go through life creating drama and feeling the drama.
- 25:45Even if there is drama, it's like you're letting the drama then affect you and kind of like.
- 25:51Run your life and run the day run, you know what I mean?
- 25:54Like, run the moment, well ruin the moment.
- 25:56You know?
- 25:56Like it's, I think that when women, I think it's common for women to be like they wanna like close the circle always.
- 26:01They wanna be right.
- 26:02They want the validation, they wanna be seen, they want all of those.
- 26:06They wanna be in control.
- 26:07Mm-hmm.
- 26:07They want all of those things.
- 26:08And I think that, that once you feel seen by yourself, you feel in control.
- 26:12Mm-hmm.
- 26:12You, that's like very empowering.
- 26:14Mm-hmm.
- 26:14But that's a skill that you have to like, learn and process on your own.
- 26:18Mm-hmm.
- 26:19And I think that that's like a confidence, like a confidence piece for sure.
- 26:22Like, I'm confident that, you know what.
- 26:25Let it be This, this does not Yeah.
- 26:27Land well with me.
- 26:28This is my interpretation.
- 26:30This is how I'm perceiving this.
- 26:32This maybe is not the intention, or mm-hmm.
- 26:35Maybe this like, hasn't even, like, nothing's even going on, but I'm confident enough that I'm gonna not spend the next hour or two hours worrying about this.
- 26:44Right.
- 26:44Maybe it's like you have to almost give it a container.
- 26:46Right?
- 26:47Like, okay, I can spend 30 minutes looking into this.
- 26:49Right.
- 26:50Because I need that time to look into it.
- 26:51Right.
- 26:52But I'm only gonna give it 30 minutes.
- 26:54Okay.
- 26:55So you're capping the spiral.
- 26:57I'm gonna, I'm ca we're gonna cap the spiral.
- 26:58We're gonna see how that goes.
- 27:01That's one walk, one walk, one loop, and then you put it out of your mind.
- 27:04One loop, one phone call to one friend.
- 27:07No, I don't do any of that stuff.
- 27:08I could never, I'm just saying like, maybe that's all these things need.
- 27:13I mean, it's good in theory, but I could never like, I could never like, no.
- 27:19So have you ever spiraled and then heard back from like a friend or a brand deal and they were like, Hey, I'm so sorry.
- 27:25Oh yes.
- 27:25That happens all the time.
- 27:26Like, okay, but you don't learn from that.
- 27:27And like, no, I, and then next time you're like, oh, this person's just like me and they don't respond, or This brand deal hasn't, needs to go through three business managers just like me to get the Okay.
- 27:39Like, no, you don't get the positive reinforcement and health.
- 27:42No, I do.
- 27:42No, I feel no, I do feel like in certain situations and like even just as I'm growing and aging and evolving, I feel like you do kind of like learn to let maybe smaller things go like that.
- 27:55Or like you're saying, yes, this person is known for not texting me back, I don't worry.
- 27:59I don't get a pit in my stomach or So, you know what I mean?
- 28:00Mm-hmm.
- 28:01Something like that.
- 28:01Mm-hmm.
- 28:01Yes.
- 28:02I think it's, some of it is like live and learn for sure, but no, then I'll find something new to create drama about.
- 28:10Oh my God.
- 28:11Why do you think we do it?
- 28:13I really don't know.
- 28:14I like, I really, I really wish I had the answer.
- 28:17I don't know.
- 28:18We wanna just know everything.
- 28:20We wanna know everything.
- 28:21Like, are you sure your tone didn't upset me?
- 28:24Like, you want everything to be good.
- 28:26Yes.
- 28:26I think that you said it like it's the the needing to close the loop.
- 28:30Yeah.
- 28:30And to just be like, this was handled check.
- 28:33Like, it's like this is over.
- 28:35But like in some situations it won't ever be over.
- 28:38Like there won't ever be closure from something and you just kind of have to be like, you do have to like learn to be okay with that.
- 28:44Ugh.
- 28:44Like, which is an icky feeling.
- 28:47I know.
- 28:48It is such an icky feeling.
- 28:49Women are connection focused women often tune into tone, energy, body language, subtle shifts.
- 28:57So when something feels off, we cannot ignore it.
- 29:00We analyze it and analyze is like right in that replay.
- 29:04Mm-hmm.
- 29:04Right?
- 29:04Mm-hmm.
- 29:05So that's what you're doing.
- 29:06You're picking up and then you're picking up on patterns.
- 29:09So if this person's pattern is typically jovial and now this person's pattern change is maybe like somber or not as engaging, you take it as like, oh, I did something.
- 29:23Did something.
- 29:23Yes.
- 29:23To make that person change.
- 29:25Right, right.
- 29:26You always take things so personal.
- 29:27Yeah.
- 29:27I mean, how can you not.
- 29:30I really think that just when I'm trying to think about that, it's not all the time that I do that, it really is like very, probably situation specific.
- 29:41Mm-hmm.
- 29:42And it probably is like one of the things where when a perfect storm adds up, right?
- 29:47Like if I'm exhausted, if I'm already feeling sensitive about something, like, it's not that I just like live life going that way, but it's just like sometimes it takes like all of the perfect makings for like, then it's, you're just in that phase where you're like maybe a little bit more sensitive, agitated about something, and then you're your antennas are up extra and you're like almost looking for a problem, you know?
- 30:12Right.
- 30:12Well, I don't think you're ever looking for a problem.
- 30:14You're, you're analyzing too far, for me it's like when I am rested.
- 30:22Feeling, productive feeling, you know, like I maybe spent quality time with my husband and my family.
- 30:28Those are things that make you whole.
- 30:29Yeah.
- 30:30Like when I'm feeling good, right.
- 30:32Maybe something great happened at work.
- 30:34I felt like that it was just like a good week or a good day or whatever.
- 30:38I'm less sensitive to.
- 30:41Outside things.
- 30:42Right.
- 30:43And then I feel like sometimes when things aren't going my way, or if the chips are down and somebody looks at you the wrong way.
- 30:50Yes.
- 30:51And then you're like, Ugh.
- 30:52Like you spiral.
- 30:53So I feel like it's not, I'm not saying sitting here saying that this is how I live my life, but there's definitely points, periods, you know, that it's that stuff tends to come up more, well, I think that that's all fair.
- 31:05Yeah.
- 31:05That's all good and fair.
- 31:06And then your, those in your moods are colliding with other people mm-hmm.
- 31:12Who maybe other people are in the same situation.
- 31:13They're, we're all in the same situation.
- 31:15Yeah.
- 31:15Every person is in the same situation.
- 31:17Yeah.
- 31:17So that's why sometimes there's drama, it's like that gap between like the intention and the perception.
- 31:23Mm-hmm.
- 31:23Like the attention intention was one thing.
- 31:25Here's the fact, here's what actually happened.
- 31:28And then your perception is something very different.
- 31:30Right.
- 31:30So I think even like sitting behind this mic and having this podcast, you know, our intention is to educate and to learn and to grow and to share.
- 31:40The perception could maybe be, oh, they're complaining, or the perception is they're oversharing.
- 31:45You know, that is the perception.
- 31:47And you cannot ever control a perception.
- 31:49You can only control your intention.
- 31:52And it might not be taken the same way too.
- 31:54Right.
- 31:55I think they, they're two different things.
- 31:56Right, and that's okay.
- 31:58Mm-hmm.
- 31:58And I think the more you become comfortable with that mm-hmm.
- 32:01The less you replay.
- 32:02I question in my head, like, why does this go on?
- 32:05Why does this carry on?
- 32:06Mm-hmm.
- 32:06Why are some exchanges so simple?
- 32:08Mm-hmm.
- 32:09And so easy.
- 32:10Why does some people make me feel very comfortable and like guard down and laugh and never replay?
- 32:17I never replay anything.
- 32:18I know.
- 32:19And why do other situations make me replay literally everything I know.
- 32:23You know?
- 32:24I don't know.
- 32:24It's, it must be just maybe your comfort level.
- 32:27And I do think that's something that I think I talked about in another episode that like I really strive, like that's my North Star.
- 32:36Is when I feel like my guard can be down.
- 32:41Then I don't have to replay anything.
- 32:45Right.
- 32:45Right.
- 32:45Like you're like, I hate that feeling when you like leave somewhere and you're like, did I overshare?
- 32:50Did I say something?
- 32:51Would that have been taken the wrong way?
- 32:53I honestly, I know that I can't always be in a situation where like, I'm never gonna feel like that.
- 32:59Right.
- 33:00But my goal in life is to be around people who never make me feel that way.
- 33:04You know what I mean?
- 33:05And that's really only something that could be done internally, right.
- 33:08To like know where you are.
- 33:11'cause it's an internal struggle.
- 33:12It's an internal struggle.
- 33:13This is, this is a lot less about other people.
- 33:15And Yes, it's, it's all about you.
- 33:16It's not really about the other people.
- 33:18They're not really in the wrong, it's no you, it's right.
- 33:21And how you interpret Yep.
- 33:23Things.
- 33:23Yep.
- 33:24And your perception of things and how you feed off of people's energy.
- 33:28Mm-hmm.
- 33:28And like feel safe around them.
- 33:30Mm-hmm.
- 33:31Mm-hmm.
- 33:31Right.
- 33:31Yeah.
- 33:32I feel like since becoming a mom too, my, need to be around like positivity and feeling like you're comfortable and very safe.
- 33:40I think that's the word.
- 33:41Mm-hmm.
- 33:41I'm probably striving for is like, you feel safe around people where you don't have to replay and you're not worried about how, maybe even how you might create drama because you're just like, okay, if I have like a bad, dinner one night, like they've probably had a bad dinner one night and there's just no worry about it.
- 33:58Right.
- 33:58In sort of like a friendship scenario.
- 34:00But I also feel like since becoming a mom, I'm more sensitive to things.
- 34:05Before becoming a mom I might have had like more I don't wanna say this the wrong way, but like it's, I had probably a little bit more space to dissect things.
- 34:17So maybe I did it back then.
- 34:18And then becoming a mom, I have now less time and less space to dissect things, but I'm more sensitive to things.
- 34:25Mm-hmm.
- 34:26Because of being a mom.
- 34:27Mm-hmm.
- 34:27So it's like when it hits hard, now it hits harder than it did before.
- 34:32Right.
- 34:32But I have less space to deal with it.
- 34:34Totally.
- 34:35And also the things that you're dissecting also are like, your attention is to your kids.
- 34:39Right.
- 34:40Like you and your husband.
- 34:41Like your focus is like right with each other.
- 34:43Right.
- 34:43And your kids, that's the priority.
- 34:44Right.
- 34:45So if you are gonna spend time dissecting things, it's gonna be like important stuff that like pertains to the family.
- 34:51Right.
- 34:51Right, right.
- 34:51'Cause obviously there's drama with family too.
- 34:53When you're overthinking things, it's any relationship with any relationship.
- 34:56I feel like my North Star with becoming a mom and choosing who I'm gonna hang out with is I will only hang out with people who I can scream at my kids in front of.
- 35:06Oh, I, yes.
- 35:07Because if you can't yell at your kids in front of somebody, then that person needs to GTFI your life.
- 35:12I know that I'm in your very inner circle because I think that you scream at them more than, than you're kind to that I'm also over here a lot, so I feel like, no, like if I'm at, like, I, I totally agree with that.
- 35:26Nick and I were at dinner with our kids and like our really close friends and their kids for dinner, and I like yelled at Joseph and.
- 35:32Like the husband's face didn't even, like, he didn't even shrunk.
- 35:36No.
- 35:36Not even phase, not even phased.
- 35:37Yeah.
- 35:37Again, I'm not like some abusive mother.
- 35:39No, of course not.
- 35:41But, you know, but I think it's just it goes to show that the guard is down.
- 35:44Guard is down.
- 35:45If I can freely yell at my kids, you can freely just be right.
- 35:48Yeah.
- 35:48Like, it's not, it might not, I'm not saying be yourself because that's not who you are.
- 35:52Yeah.
- 35:53But it's just like, you can be, you can be in that moment, you can have a reaction to something that maybe you might not have, but then you don't have to worry about the feeling, you know what I mean?
- 36:01Of feeling weird or icky.
- 36:03Like I feel like everybody knows what that feeling is and Yeah.
- 36:06Well also, I really try to avoid that as much as possible.
- 36:08Like, I feel like that is literally my goal in life is to like not have an ick feeling.
- 36:13Well, if you're trying to figure out.
- 36:15Where to place yourself mm-hmm.
- 36:17With your family.
- 36:18Mm-hmm.
- 36:18And your kids.
- 36:19See how comfortable you feel correcting your kids, being in front, so, yeah.
- 36:24In front of somebody else.
- 36:25Yep.
- 36:25'cause if I find myself, like perform, holding my tongue and performing, my kids are gonna crank it up and act Oh.
- 36:30Like really holding, because then they can see that they're getting away with it.
- 36:33But if they know like, no, normal mom is here, who's gonna mm-hmm.
- 36:37Nip it in the bud.
- 36:38Mm-hmm.
- 36:38Then usually it stops.
- 36:40I know.
- 36:40They're like, oh, company's here I can act crazy.
- 36:43Nope.
- 36:43It's nope.
- 36:43They're this company.
- 36:44They're, it's a family company.
- 36:46Nope.
- 36:47That's true.
- 36:47I'm not getting away with anything., Is there anything that you, tend to dramatize?
- 36:52Because I feel like for me, I like know the certain things that, I don't wanna say overdramatize because it's not, it's from my point of view, but like, is there anything that you dramatize in your life?
- 37:03Like are there themes where you're like, oh, this type of thing gets me going.
- 37:08Right?
- 37:08Like where, like, I might start spiraling about this.
- 37:11Is there certain things, certain events, any, so anything related to my kids mm-hmm.
- 37:16With school.
- 37:16Mm-hmm.
- 37:17If I get an email mm-hmm.
- 37:19From a teacher that's like vague.
- 37:22Yep.
- 37:22And it's like, okay, we have like a behavior thing like, or this event happened.
- 37:28Yes.
- 37:28Or we have to document it.
- 37:29Yes.
- 37:29I don't let it go.
- 37:30Yes.
- 37:30I'm like, okay, call a meeting.
- 37:32We need a meeting.
- 37:33I need the vice principal there, I need the school psychologist there.
- 37:35I need the teacher there.
- 37:37I need to be there.
- 37:37Like I wanna know everything.
- 37:39Mm-hmm.
- 37:40And then I'm like, tell me everything, like what's going on with my kid?
- 37:43Like, is something wrong with them?
- 37:44Do they need like behavioral, the like I everything.
- 37:48And Nick is like, but it's not a thing, it's a, he's a boy, he's a hyperactive boy.
- 37:54He'll grow out of it.
- 37:55You know how many times Nick has said that to me to kind of keep pull you back down.
- 37:58Pull me back down.
- 37:59Yeah.
- 37:59But I am like in that school like a psycho.
- 38:02Mm-hmm.
- 38:02And I think there's like a line between a mom trying to be self-aware and not stuff things down and hit it head on.
- 38:08Yeah.
- 38:08And also like I look.
- 38:10Back at the things that I've done with my kids, I think I probably made it a little bit worse sometimes.
- 38:15Yeah.
- 38:16Like, I think so.
- 38:17Anything kid related.
- 38:19So, but do you feel like that now or is that just something that you've done in the past?
- 38:23Well, now I'm aware of it now that the kids are older and again, everything is live and learn.
- 38:26Yeah.
- 38:27Everything is live and learn.
- 38:28So now if I get emails like that about them, I don't think I'll be so reactive.
- 38:32Mm-hmm.
- 38:33Like I, when we were doing this podcast last year, Nick and I were in Florida.
- 38:37Mm-hmm.
- 38:37And I spent one entire day of that trip.
- 38:40I ruined it, I remember on the phone Yep.
- 38:42With the vice principal, the school social worker, over a very small incident.
- 38:48Incident Right.
- 38:48That I blew up.
- 38:50Yep.
- 38:50Because I was just so reactive to the incident.
- 38:56Mm-hmm.
- 38:56So I think really the, the real answer is, is that I can be very reactive.
- 39:01To anything kid related.
- 39:03Yes.
- 39:03I think that's really like the crux of the issue.
- 39:06Yep.
- 39:06I, I would probably agree with you and it's like, about different things.
- 39:10'cause my kids aren't in school yet, but I definitely overreact but I feel like that's also part of being a mom, right?
- 39:16I mean, some of it is you're a mama bear, right?
- 39:19So I feel like my job, I like spiral about anything like safety related.
- 39:24I'm just like overbearing and I spiral and I worry.
- 39:27And that, I think that that sometimes comes back to anxiety.
- 39:30It almost like goes hand in hand where if I'm anxious about something, I make a thing about it.
- 39:36Right?
- 39:36Right.
- 39:36So like anything can spiral in that way, you know?
- 39:39So I, I relate to you on that aspect where that's stuff just makes me feel like I'm not doing my job right or something like that.
- 39:47Right.
- 39:47Like, and you're like, oh my God, ugh.
- 39:49Like, but being, but the bad part about it is that.
- 39:53Maybe the incident, like if we really break it down, like maybe the incident is not even that big.
- 39:57Right.
- 39:58But my reaction right.
- 39:59Is so much bigger.
- 40:00Right.
- 40:00And then everybody that I called and pulled Yeah.
- 40:03And the doctor and this, that, and the other, like Yep.
- 40:05Made it a thing.
- 40:06Yep.
- 40:06I could even see with the kids because we had Christina on a couple weeks ago mm-hmm.
- 40:10And we talked at length, if that was such a great episode.
- 40:13We talked about confidence in girls, like raising girls and stuff.
- 40:17And so we did have a whole section about moms like almost entering kid drama too.
- 40:22Mm-hmm.
- 40:23You know?
- 40:23Mm-hmm.
- 40:23And being worried about if your kid feels a certain way, all of the things that we talked about, if your kid feels icky about something mm-hmm.
- 40:30Like, oh, I don't like the way she talked to me, or she left me out of this, and then you enter mm-hmm.
- 40:35Kind of like mm-hmm.
- 40:37There to solve it.
- 40:38Mm-hmm.
- 40:38You know what I mean?
- 40:38And then you almost enter the drama and make it worse.
- 40:41Right.
- 40:42You know what I mean?
- 40:42Like, I could definitely see myself getting way too involved in stuff like that.
- 40:46Right.
- 40:46Like trying to almost solve a problem that isn't mine to solve, you know?
- 40:51Right.
- 40:51So like I could totally see that being like, something that, but because of this podcast, you're gonna be hyper aware.
- 40:56I'm gonna be hyper aware of it now, not to, and you're gonna try really, really hard not to.
- 40:59Yep.
- 40:59Which is the beauty of this podcast.
- 41:02Yep.
- 41:02Yep.
- 41:02It, it's created another level.
- 41:04Mm-hmm.
- 41:05Of like self-awareness.
- 41:06'cause now we've learned that.
- 41:07Confidence comes from action.
- 41:09Yeah.
- 41:09And in order, like if the goal is for your daughter to be confident, she has to be the one Right.
- 41:14Doing the actions of figuring it out.
- 41:15For sure.
- 41:16And then you'll have to, I don't know, figure out where to insert and where not to.
- 41:21Yeah.
- 41:21And you'll spiral along the way.
- 41:23Of course you'll we'll, I'll be here for the ride.
- 41:25Yeah, of course.
- 41:27You'll, you'll be listening to me, so, okay.
- 41:29So that for me is like my biggest, yeah, that's a big one.
- 41:31Biggest thing to make me reactive.
- 41:32Are there any others that you can kind of think of that you get yourself caught up in?
- 41:37Oh my God, yes.
- 41:38If somebody questions like my intention.
- 41:42That's a big one for me.
- 41:43Like when my intentions are questioned.
- 41:45Okay.
- 41:45Because I think that I always have the best intention.
- 41:49Mm-hmm.
- 41:51It's not always gonna, it's not always gonna pan out.
- 41:53It's not gonna be way, my intention and perception is not always gonna pan out.
- 41:56Right.
- 41:56But those, that, that's another one.
- 41:58But that, that like guts you.
- 42:00That guts me.
- 42:00Yeah.
- 42:01Yeah.
- 42:01And that creates a ton of internal drama.
- 42:04Yes.
- 42:04I could see, I mean, I feel like that's v that's like very justified, you know, for me.
- 42:10Tell me, I hate when there's not closure in certain things.
- 42:15Like if there was like a friendship that ended a certain way or a fight that never got resolved, right.
- 42:21I feel stuff like that.
- 42:23Festers and bothers me tremendously.
- 42:25And I can be, I can see that I can overplay and replay and overanalyze and be like, what the actual heck went wrong?
- 42:34Like where do we stand?
- 42:35You know what I mean?
- 42:36Like that type of thing.
- 42:37I like things to be as tied up in a bow as they could be.
- 42:42You know what I mean?
- 42:42And that doesn't mean that everything has to end on good terms.
- 42:45It just has to end on some sort of terms and not just feel like it ended.
- 42:49You like to know where you stand.
- 42:51I always like to know where I stand with please.
- 42:53I don't even necessarily think you care where it is.
- 42:56I do not care where I think it's totally agree.
- 42:58I have to, you like to know where, where you stand.
- 43:00I have to know in my mind where I place you.
- 43:04You know what I mean?
- 43:04Like, or where somebody places you, where, where someone, or where someone places me.
- 43:07I don't like the unknown of that at all.
- 43:10What are different placeholders in your mind?
- 43:14If you have to think of where you place people.
- 43:17Yeah.
- 43:17Well, where, where are different places?
- 43:19So I obviously, in the friendship slash everything is great.
- 43:23You know what I mean?
- 43:24Type of category.
- 43:25And then if something ended kind of weird, it's like, are we on good terms?
- 43:30Are we fine?
- 43:31Were, did we just go separate ways?
- 43:33Like you went this way and I went this way and that's okay.
- 43:37Did something happen and now we're, we don't speak to each other.
- 43:41If we bumped into each other, we don't talk, you know, like Oh, so you're meaning it more like that?
- 43:45Yeah.
- 43:46Like it's, I don't like that.
- 43:47I don't like that unknown.
- 43:48So I get a lot of anxiety if I'm gonna be in a situation where maybe I might run into people and I don't know where we are.
- 43:56Like it's like where you place each other.
- 43:58Yeah.
- 43:58Yeah, what, where are we at?
- 43:59I guess the word that we keep using or that I have kept coming back to, we always have these like themed words is like, where can I safely place you?
- 44:10You know what I mean?
- 44:11Well, don't you think that also goes back to like some of that control thing?
- 44:14Yeah.
- 44:14If you feel like you feel safe.
- 44:18Yeah.
- 44:18When you know that somebody feels this way about you and has placed you in a, you know what, yes, I know who you are.
- 44:26I know your soul.
- 44:27You are safe here with faith.
- 44:28Yeah.
- 44:28Like, you know when you have people who you're like, I know that I haven't seen them in 10 years, but you're like, we could pick up where we left off.
- 44:38And wouldn't miss a beat.
- 44:39Right?
- 44:39Maybe you don't talk to each other for 10 years, but you're like, I know we're in a good place.
- 44:44And if I ran into that person, we'd be fine.
- 44:47Like you'd be Versus what?
- 44:48Versus you didn't versus see somebody for 10 years because of something.
- 44:51Right.
- 44:51Like that you don't know.
- 44:52Yeah.
- 44:53Like maybe there was like.
- 44:54Some sort of thing that happened and then you're like, I don't know how we ended.
- 44:58It was kind of weird the last time I saw that person.
- 45:00Are we gonna run into each other?
- 45:02Are they gonna turn the other way and not wanna see me?
- 45:05Is it gonna be weird?
- 45:06Are we gonna have to try to make small?
- 45:07Right.
- 45:08And that, and that's all.
- 45:09And that's all replay.
- 45:10It's all, and that's all the story.
- 45:12Yes.
- 45:12And that's all of what we're talking about is drama.
- 45:14And that's what I do.
- 45:15And that's internal.
- 45:16Internal, internal drama.
- 45:17It's totally internal drama.
- 45:19Aw man.
- 45:20Yeah.
- 45:20I think I know that that's probably like a common thing.
- 45:23I'm sure not everybody does that, but I've definitely heard, heard totally.
- 45:26I've heard that's I've uncomfortable, I've been on the other side of people being anxious about being in that situation and being like, oh my God, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
- 45:32I don't know what.
- 45:33And so I feel like that's probably not a great place to, to be in.
- 45:37And that's where you can create drama.
- 45:39Right?
- 45:39Right.
- 45:40Like when you're unsure, I know.
- 45:42Or something bad happened and you're like, now I have to replay this because of that, you know?
- 45:49Right.
- 45:49Because of that feeling.
- 45:50Which is, which is almost.
- 45:53Like when things are concrete.
- 45:55Yes.
- 45:55And you're like, oh, this Hap X happened y was the result.
- 46:00Yes.
- 46:00And that is why like you connect the dots, the loop, the loop is closed.
- 46:03The loop is closed, it goes back to the loop being closed.
- 46:05I know people like loops to be closed.
- 46:07I love a loop closed.
- 46:08Even if you're not like somebody that's like controlling and likes everything neatened up and bow.
- 46:13Yeah.
- 46:13I think that everybody to some extent wants a closed.
- 46:16You can feel Don a little more, more peace left open.
- 46:19No.
- 46:20Who wants that?
- 46:21I, not me.
- 46:21No.
- 46:22Certainly not me.
- 46:22No, no.
- 46:23Again, also being your close friend and like spending a lot of time with you.
- 46:26You're gonna tell me another one?
- 46:27I think.
- 46:28Well, I think this is like similar to what we just talked about.
- 46:30Yeah.
- 46:30I think you have to keep your finger on the pulse and if you get a little bit of like a I don't know how I feel about this.
- 46:39And it's not anything glaring.
- 46:41It might not even be about a person.
- 46:42It might even just be a situation.
- 46:44No, this is really not even like a personal thing.
- 46:46Yeah.
- 46:47This is just like situational.
- 46:48Yes.
- 46:48This can be like work or like environment.
- 46:50Just, just a whole vibe of a situation.
- 46:53Yes.
- 46:53You know, a seating assignment, literally anything.
- 46:55Yeah.
- 46:55If you get like a little bit of a nick, you immediately do like a Yeah.
- 47:00A yeah.
- 47:00Like you do, like she's going back like, she's like step back.
- 47:03You do like an actual like visceral.
- 47:04Like like Yes.
- 47:05A step back.
- 47:06A step back.
- 47:06And you need to like, like process.
- 47:09Yes.
- 47:09And reevaluate the room.
- 47:11Yeah.
- 47:12And again, nothing, even, nothing even happened.
- 47:14But you, I feel like, are very in tuned with like a vibe.
- 47:17Yes.
- 47:18That might not be about a person, it could be about a person, but it could be about a situation, an event, the vibe of a place, the vibe of a room, the vibe of it could be going into a restaurant with your kids and you're like, oh, wait a second, I don't know about this right now.
- 47:32Yes.
- 47:33It's this time of day and I spiral.
- 47:34They look busy.
- 47:35We might be here too long.
- 47:36Like just a minute.
- 47:38Yes.
- 47:38You know?
- 47:39Yeah.
- 47:40Yeah.
- 47:40Like, and then I could spiral.
- 47:42If you could, you could, if the stars are aligned.
- 47:46Yeah.
- 47:46And you are, you know?
- 47:47Yeah.
- 47:48That's true.
- 47:48That's true.
- 47:49And think everybody, I think the whole point is we're trying to like, you know mm-hmm.
- 47:54Build ourselves so we don't enter every situation in a spiral.
- 47:58Mm-hmm.
- 47:58Right?
- 47:58Mm-hmm.
- 48:00I mean I spiral all the time.
- 48:01Like you brought up a good point to me, like about my health stuff.
- 48:05Yeah.
- 48:06Like I had such bad health anxiety that was a spiral.
- 48:08I was like replaying our everything.
- 48:10I remember that he talked about how she had had health anxiety for a couple of years and was really working hard to manage that.
- 48:18Like you would spiral over any little thing going on with your health, literally anything.
- 48:25And I knew that nothing was wrong.
- 48:27Yeah.
- 48:27But I was constantly having all these like little ailments pop up'cause I was almost creating them.
- 48:33Mm-hmm.
- 48:33It was crazy.
- 48:34At my last doctor's visit, I had my last, my physical back in February.
- 48:39And again, I'm not like a toddler that goes to the doctor every year.
- 48:42Yeah.
- 48:42Like I'm, it's like my 18 month checkup.
- 48:44Yeah.
- 48:44Yeah.
- 48:44So I hadn't had blood work in a while and she, I saw the pa, not the doctor, so she, I hadn't seen her ever, and she was like, okay, what is up with this like history of yours?
- 48:54Like, could we take quick clean, neaten this up a little bit?
- 48:57It was like, yeah, vertigo heart palpitations this.
- 49:00I'm like, yeah, I don't have any of that anymore.
- 49:03It's all, all anxiety.
- 49:05Well, that's great.
- 49:05I take Lexapro now.
- 49:06I just have high cholesterol, but Liam Ellis gonna help me with that.
- 49:10I know, I know.
- 49:11We're gonna have Leah on actually to talk about that too, but could you imagine if that were three years ago and she said to me, you have high cholesterol.
- 49:17I would've been, yeah, you would've lost it.
- 49:19Losing my mind.
- 49:20Yeah.
- 49:20Like, oh my god, my art, my arteries are clogged and I'm done for, I've been replaying that diagnosis, that fake diagnosis and my head for the next four hours.
- 49:29Yeah.
- 49:30And.
- 49:31Replaying things is what leads to Yep.
- 49:34A story.
- 49:34You're gonna eventually believe that story.
- 49:36Yep.
- 49:36That story is gonna eventually come true.
- 49:38Like I really think it's like bad manifestation.
- 49:40It is.
- 49:41It is.
- 49:41And I believe it.
- 49:42It can be.
- 49:43I know.
- 49:43You're right.
- 49:43You're right.
- 49:44And I, so I think we have to have a takeaway from this, right?
- 49:47So like the takeaway from this is, well, I think the takeaway is not, you're crazy.
- 49:51That is not the takeaway.
- 49:52No, it absolutely not.
- 49:53And I think all of this is validating because I think it's sometimes nice to hear from someone else that like they feel the same way and they think the same way.
- 50:01You know?
- 50:02So you don't have to feel like it's just you that has these thoughts and goes down this rabbit hole.
- 50:07But I think that you, but you don't need an army of seven people thinking the same way as you.
- 50:11Right.
- 50:11Because that creates your inter intern, right.
- 50:13That turns internal drama.
- 50:14Right into external drama.
- 50:16Right.
- 50:16And I think we need to try our best to minimize that.
- 50:20I think that what my takeaway from this is that.
- 50:24It seems like I'm just doing a lot of thinking about when I tend to do this, which I said already, is that if I'm in a much better place, I tend to do it less, and so I think recognizing that if I'm tending to do it more, it's likely.
- 50:41Because of something else.
- 50:43You know what I mean?
- 50:44And just reminding myself to try to let that pass as much as possible.
- 50:49And then if it's not something that I can let pass, then I have to go to like a trusted person in my life and try to dissect it a little bit to be like, what do I do from here?
- 51:00I can't get past this.
- 51:02I'm worried about this.
- 51:03This is bothering me.
- 51:04What do I do?
- 51:05You know what I mean?
- 51:06And it's when you're truly looking for the answer, you know, when you kind of can't come to it yourself.
- 51:11It could be like a therapist, it could be a trusted friend or family member or spouse.
- 51:16And then you try to work through that and you also have to try to then let that person be another point of view that maybe can help you come down from it and help you close the loop, right?
- 51:25And hope that they don't unravel it further for you further, right?
- 51:28But I think that you know now, right?
- 51:31Who's gonna do, who's gonna pull on that thread?
- 51:33But then I guess even if they do.
- 51:36Pull, like make it maybe more drama.
- 51:38Sometimes things need to be dramatic because maybe a change needs to be made.
- 51:42Maybe your thought process needs to change.
- 51:44Like again, back, if this was like a friendship or a situation that was making you unravel for some reason, like maybe you're unraveling because of invalid things.
- 51:53Maybe you're unraveling because of very valid things.
- 51:56Yeah.
- 51:56And then maybe the spiral helps you come to a realization about something like maybe it doesn't always have to be for nothing.
- 52:04Right.
- 52:04But I think that sometimes you maybe need another point of view to help you come to terms with that.
- 52:08You know what else I loved that you just said, and it just shows like such significant growth is that you just named, again things that help keep you in like a solid sound place.
- 52:18Mm.
- 52:18And you also coming back to what keeps you in a solid sound place.
- 52:23Can help eliminate Yes.
- 52:25Even the replay from starting to begin with.
- 52:27Yes.
- 52:28So if you try to consistently keep yourself in a good right place rested, fed, you know you have enough, like one-on-one time with your spouse, like enough family time work is good.
- 52:39Like those are all things that are important to you.
- 52:41They fill your cups.
- 52:42It's good to know, again, what fills your cup.
- 52:44Right?
- 52:45I think the more your cup is filled, I could assume the less drama you kind of have.
- 52:52It's like if your cup is filled with all good things, then you don't need the drama.
- 52:57Well, you also, you are not, you are not replaying anything else, right.
- 53:00If you feel satiated in all these other aspects of your life.
- 53:04Right.
- 53:04You know, so if, I guess this is like another, like if somebody is maybe starting things or spreading things or you know, spiraling around you, like again, maybe that person has not yet figured out how to fill.
- 53:19Their cup.
- 53:19Right, right.
- 53:20We're all learning how to do it.
- 53:21I think we all have, and it may not, they may not be like a dramatic bad person.
- 53:25Maybe they just haven't filled, figured out how to fulfill themselves yet.
- 53:29I have been definitely in that position where like I said, like when I'm feeling defeated, when I'm not in a good place, when I'm not feeling like my cup is full, my cup is empty.
- 53:38Yeah.
- 53:38I'm searching then for other things, you know what I mean?
- 53:42And like sometimes creating drama out of nothing, but when you're feeling good, I think that you don't really have any room for that.
- 53:49And it's a different lens, so.
- 53:51No, I like how we portrayed drama in this episode.
- 53:55I, I feel good about it.
- 53:56Yeah.
- 53:57I wanna know from the Pippa's, we always love to hear how you perceive things, and obviously, you know, our attention of this episode was to kind of dissect this from a different point of view in a different lens and share our experiences with it.
- 54:10But if you guys have any.
- 54:13Thoughts, we would love to hear from you as well so you guys can send it to us in our text messages.
- 54:19We love reading the text messages from you guys when you send them in, and it helps give us episode ideas.
- 54:23This episode actually stemmed from a conversation that we were having in our messages, so thank you guys for that.
- 54:29You guys are always giving us so much inspo.
- 54:32Yes?
- 54:33Yes.
- 54:33Okay, so let's wrap it up here.
- 54:35Yep.
- 54:35With our pink Spotlight.
- 54:37Spotlight.
- 54:37Pink spotlight.
- 54:37Yeah.
- 54:37Our person, place thing.
- 54:39Tip.
- 54:40Mantra, anything, making life a little better this week.
- 54:44What about you?
- 54:45Go first.
- 54:45All right.
- 54:45So this one was from, I went to book club with my girlfriends mm-hmm.
- 54:50So my book club meets once a month.
- 54:52It's my girlfriend's from home who I love dearly, and as they all know, I can barely make it'cause I have 500 kids.
- 54:58But last month I was able to make it, but it was a skeleton crew, so we decided to do it at a restaurant.
- 55:04And my girlfriend Laura, has like a culinary background and she always picks like the best places to eat.
- 55:10And they were like different, it's not just like the, you know, yeah.
- 55:12The norm.
- 55:13The norm.
- 55:13So she picked this place in Hartford called Gather 55 And it has a really incredible mission and insanely good food.
- 55:22Mm.
- 55:23It's a nonprofit.
- 55:24Mm-hmm.
- 55:24And it's a pay as you go restaurant that feeds anybody during the day.
- 55:28Oh wow.
- 55:28And it's open for breakfast and lunch.
- 55:31So people are served good food with dignity.
- 55:35And it's like, it's excellent food.
- 55:37It's a beautiful restaurant.
- 55:39And then at nighttime it's open, for profit, but it's like more fine dining.
- 55:44But the money that they get in the evening makes the daytime possible.
- 55:48Oh, nice.
- 55:49If that makes sense.
- 55:50So we went at nighttime for dinner and the menu is.
- 55:55I, I don't wanna say limited'cause it's certainly not limited, but it's all dishes from all of our favorite local restaurants.
- 56:02So all of the different chefs and owners of the local restaurants around here, I would say like Hartford County, Litchfield County, like pretty close by mm-hmm.
- 56:11Have all offered up a recipe.
- 56:14So like, for instance, like the Billy grant's, like, Mel, uh, pork Meese.
- 56:18Mm-hmm.
- 56:18That's like a staple over there.
- 56:19Mm-hmm.
- 56:19That's on the menu.
- 56:21Um, the Tyler and Anderson, um, what is it, the Kale Caesar that's on the menu.
- 56:26Like there's a lot of, so some of the like famous dishes from lot of local, local restaurant on local on the menu, local restaurants, but anyway, so at Gather 55 every month, I believe they highlight a different local chef.
- 56:38Oh, nice.
- 56:39So when we went last week, like one of my girlfriends said, I wanna order all the diff the dishes from you know, the, this month's fe featured chef.
- 56:49And so you can pay like per dish or you can pay, they have like a prefix thing that's$55.
- 56:54Mm-hmm.
- 56:54Hence the name.
- 56:55Yep.
- 56:55And you get a starter, an entree and a dessert that, it was so nice and it was, the food is excellent.
- 57:01That's amazing.
- 57:02And it is very affordable and it's like good, good food.
- 57:04And then to know that like that it's supporting this great daytime mission.
- 57:09IL that it was just like a bonus.
- 57:10That's great.
- 57:11I love that.
- 57:11It was a bonus and I loved that we tried something new.
- 57:13I love to, yeah.
- 57:14Awesome.
- 57:14Try something new.
- 57:15We've gone to Forge and Fire in Hartford also for dinner.
- 57:18Mm-hmm.
- 57:19Which I believe has not the same mission, but like something similar, like community based.
- 57:23Mm-hmm.
- 57:24Um, so anyways, it was great.
- 57:25That's amazing.
- 57:25You should go there.
- 57:26It's really good.
- 57:26Oh my God, I love that.
- 57:27Love that so much.
- 57:28So mine is a product this week.
- 57:30It is a Titan and Lift neck cream.
- 57:34I feel like if you're listen, if you're like that, if you're literally sitting there and you like, listen to millennial music on repeat, you need a neck cream.
- 57:45And I'll tell you that.
- 57:47For a while.
- 57:48So I've tried a bunch, like I, and I feel like, I don't know, there's something about some of them where I'm just like, for some reason, it doesn't make it into my routine.
- 57:56I don't know if I don't see results like quick enough or if it's just like, oh, this is another step and I don't really feel like I'm getting anything out of it.
- 58:04But I've also tried carrying my own skincare down to my neck.
- 58:08I always forget, and I do that sometimes.
- 58:11I won't say that I do that all the time, but I just don't really see like anything, you know, like it's like it, it feels like if something works on my face, it doesn't work on my neck and it's because it's completely different skin.
- 58:22So I started using this and I will give a plug to my girlfriend, Marissa Mead, who we've had on the podcast, who is at Style Cusp.
- 58:29She actually shared this neck cream a couple of weeks ago, and I grabbed it immediately and I tried it out.
- 58:37So I think I've been using this for about three weeks now.
- 58:42And I am literally already seeing a difference.
- 58:44Now I'm not seeing a difference with like the deep lines, like tech neck lines on my neck, but I'm seeing a difference with just like the texture of the skin.
- 58:55On my neck, I have lines, which are just like hereditary lines.
- 58:59Yeah, they're like those bands.
- 59:00Yeah.
- 59:00You can't, I, you can't get rid of those and like, I feel like unless you do something drastic, you're not gonna get rid of those.
- 59:05Or does that get rid of those?
- 59:06I think you could do like filler or you could do like laser to try to get rid of them.
- 59:11But what I'm seeing a difference is, is just the overall skin on my neck it was looking a little bit like creepy, creepy and kind of like discolored in some areas.
- 59:20And what I'm finding now is it just looks a lot more smooth overall.
- 59:23So like perfect.
- 59:24The lines aren't going away.
- 59:25No.
- 59:25You're like, you're not gonna have something that just like a cream is gonna take those like deep set lines away.
- 59:30Especially if you're like in your forties, your fifties, your sixties and you're listening to us.
- 59:34I'm not gonna claim it does that, but I just found that the texture of my neck, like within days of using it just looked so much more hydrated and it almost like lightened it and smoothed it out.
- 59:45So I even feel like my makeup, like when I blend my makeup down my neck, like everything it, instead of it like setting in.
- 59:52Mm-hmm.
- 59:52It just kind of like looked a lot smoother and I love it.
- 59:56It also has caffeine in it and it is a safe and clean product, which I really liked.
- 1:00:00It's by Go Pure is the brand.
- 1:00:03And I was actually using their belly cream as well for like, some stretch marks and kind of like creepy.
- 1:00:08Oh, it says right on there.
- 1:00:09Yeah.
- 1:00:09Tighten and lift neck cream.
- 1:00:11Yes.
- 1:00:11Tighten and lift neck cream.
- 1:00:13So I feel like it really is doing, use it at night or during the day.
- 1:00:15I actually started using it twice because I I, and that Okay.
- 1:00:19'cause you said makeup, you blend your makeup.
- 1:00:20Yes, yes.
- 1:00:21And I feel, but I also feel like it, my neck is moisturized.
- 1:00:24Like it actually feels hydrated.
- 1:00:27And I don't think I ever noticed how dehydrated my neck felt Yeah.
- 1:00:31Until it felt hydrated.
- 1:00:33And then I was like, oh, this actually feels really good.
- 1:00:35Like, I'm completely missing this part of my skincare.
- 1:00:38Right.
- 1:00:38And so I'm loving this.
- 1:00:39Oh, I wanna try it.
- 1:00:40Especially now, like if I wear a bathing suit, I always feel like I have crepeness, like where my Yes.
- 1:00:45Can bring it all the way down your like chest.
- 1:00:47You know, like it's just for any of that area.
- 1:00:49But I, I really have like this, I need that for my entire body.
- 1:00:51Yes.
- 1:00:52I just need to like.
- 1:00:53I need like my entire body to lift and tie in.
- 1:00:57Same girl.
- 1:00:58What are we gonna say to ourselves or to each other in like another 20 years?
- 1:01:01I don't know.
- 1:01:02I do.
- 1:01:02Maybe we just will like lose our vision and we won't, and sense of like touch and won't care.
- 1:01:07But right now my vision is very much there and I, I know every single chin hair I know and every single crepey, everything I know.
- 1:01:14And I'm not loving it.
- 1:01:16No, I'm not loving it.
- 1:01:17But we're gonna go into our forties with a positive mindset.
- 1:01:20But it's not, this is bullshit.
- 1:01:21It's not, it's not like it's, yes, there's an element of vanity to it and obviously I care.
- 1:01:27But like there is something behind, like, if you are like, oh, I look good, then you feel good.
- 1:01:33Yeah.
- 1:01:33And I wasn't even realizing like my neck it wasn't something that I was like looking at all the time that I was like, oh, this bothers me.
- 1:01:39But then I was like, wow, this like actually feels really nice, you know?
- 1:01:43So it when something like that happens, I'm more encouraged to keep using it.
- 1:01:46Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:46Especially when there's more of like an immediate result where I'm like, mm-hmm Oh, this immediately looks good after a few days.
- 1:01:52And it's because my neck has been very hydrated.
- 1:01:54I need a drastic before and after within like 30 seconds of application in order for me to try again.
- 1:01:59I know I have, have zero patience, like the whitening toothpaste.
- 1:02:03Like it needs to make my teeth sparkle in 20 minutes, day one.
- 1:02:07Or forget it.
- 1:02:08I know this is a garbage product.
- 1:02:10I know.
- 1:02:10Which, I know things don't work like that.
- 1:02:11I love, especially skincare.
- 1:02:12I know, but that's just, we can wish, that's just how like discouraged I get sometimes.
- 1:02:18Yeah.
- 1:02:18You just throw in the towel so quickly.
- 1:02:20Forget it.
- 1:02:20Yeah.
- 1:02:21You gotta commit.
- 1:02:23Oh, it, this has been a fun episode.
- 1:02:25I hope you guys like to take this.
- 1:02:26I know.
- 1:02:27I love this, this one, and we will be back with you next week.
- 1:02:30Yes.
- 1:02:30See you all next week.
- 1:02:31Bye bye.
