- 0:05Speaker 1: Appoche Production.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to the Shape Rises Podcast. I'm Ashley and I'm Tiana.
- 0:14Speaker 2: This podcast is about female empowerment.
- 0:16Speaker 3: And encouraging you to be your biggest, boldest, and most
- 0:19Speaker 3: authentic version of yourself.
- 0:20Speaker 2: We help you shed the shame grows a new level.
- 0:23Speaker 2: We're gonna laugh and cry and talk about the topics
- 0:25Speaker 2: everyone else is tour frights, talk about.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Get ready for your next level of self.
- 0:32Speaker 1: First, it's about clarity, knowing how you want to feel. Right,
- 0:37Speaker 1: we manifest how we feel. We manifest who we are.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We manifest what we believe. So instead of just thinking,
- 0:44Speaker 1: oh I want that thing, I'm going to write it
- 0:46Speaker 1: down a thousand times, or I'm going to make a
- 0:47Speaker 1: vision board, or I'm gonna put a statement out to
- 0:50Speaker 1: the universe. Oh that's great, but it's really what is
- 0:53Speaker 1: the story or belief that's blocking me from this desire
- 0:56Speaker 1: that I really want? And the real manifesting work is
- 1:00Speaker 1: to recognize those beliefs and patterns that are holding us
- 1:03Speaker 1: back and start to tend to that, start to offer
- 1:06Speaker 1: connection inside, start to lean into a different perspective so
- 1:10Speaker 1: that we can heal the wounded parts of ourselves that
- 1:13Speaker 1: block us. Now, I think that when we know what
- 1:15Speaker 1: we don't want, we have more clarity about what we
- 1:17Speaker 1: do want. And knowing what we do want allows us
- 1:21Speaker 1: to recognize the feelings and the energy that might be
- 1:24Speaker 1: associated with what it is that we want. Right, so,
- 1:26Speaker 1: maybe we want financial freedom, well, what does that feel
- 1:29Speaker 1: like inside? Or we want to have a more romantic relationship,
- 1:33Speaker 1: what does that energy feel like? And starting to access
- 1:36Speaker 1: more of that feeling in our life even when the
- 1:38Speaker 1: desire isn't there yet. So let's say you want to
- 1:41Speaker 1: attract a partner. And I used to walk around the
- 1:43Speaker 1: streets of New York City in my late twenties when
- 1:45Speaker 1: I was manifesting my beloved who's now my husband since
- 1:48Speaker 1: I was twenty seven. We met at twenty seven, got
- 1:50Speaker 1: married when I was thirty five, And when I was
- 1:53Speaker 1: manifesting and attracting him, instead of walking around seeing all
- 1:56Speaker 1: my friends who were dating or getting married or having
- 1:57Speaker 1: babies and feeling bad about myself, I chose to one
- 2:01Speaker 1: see those people in my life as driftwood like moments
- 2:04Speaker 1: of seeing okay, well, thing that they have is actually
- 2:06Speaker 1: a sign that that's on the way for me. And
- 2:08Speaker 1: then what I would do is I'd walk around the
- 2:10Speaker 1: streets of New York and I would feel it. I
- 2:11Speaker 1: would pretend like I was holding hands with my beloved
- 2:14Speaker 1: in the streets of New York City, and I'd feel
- 2:16Speaker 1: into the feeling of what that felt like and the
- 2:19Speaker 1: energy of what that would feel like. And now to
- 2:22Speaker 1: this day, twelve years thirteen years later of marriage, our
- 2:26Speaker 1: favorite thing to do is walk around the streets of
- 2:27Speaker 1: New York City and hold hands. You manifest the energy.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Isn't that funny?
- 2:30Speaker 3: It's so interesting as well, Like we get so caught
- 2:32Speaker 3: up in like the thinking of the thing, but not
- 2:34Speaker 3: actually the feeling. And would you say that that's like
- 2:36Speaker 3: the big disconnect around people who are trying versus the
- 2:39Speaker 3: people who are actually manifesting in like creating that dream lot.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It's a huge disconnect because once again, you manifest who
- 2:45Speaker 1: you are, You manifest what you believe, and you manifest
- 2:48Speaker 1: how you feel. So if you feel a certain way,
- 2:51Speaker 1: that starts to define who you are. Right if you're
- 2:54Speaker 1: walking around with a bad attitude all day long, then
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're putting out a bad vibe. I've seen it shift penfold.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Like right now, I have an app called the Gabby
- 3:02Speaker 1: Coaching App, and in my app. I do all these
- 3:04Speaker 1: challenges like the Manifest Challenge in January. Now, I just
- 3:07Speaker 1: launched this new challenge called Trust the Universe Challenge, and
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's based on the principles of my number one Year
- 3:12Speaker 1: Times bestseller, The Universe Has Your Back, Like my most
- 3:14Speaker 1: popular book. I knew people needed this right now. They
- 3:17Speaker 1: needed to trust the divine connection, they needed to transform
- 3:20Speaker 1: their fear into faith. So I made this daily practice
- 3:22Speaker 1: of twenty one days of connecting to the universe, and
- 3:25Speaker 1: I've been doing it for the past eight days and
- 3:27Speaker 1: eight days into my own challenge, I've been doing it
- 3:29Speaker 1: with my friend Carrie. We messaged each other daily, we
- 3:30Speaker 1: talk about it all the time, and eight days in
- 3:34Speaker 1: I have radically transformed this one mindset that was super
- 3:39Speaker 1: minimal holding me back, a mindset belief that frankly like
- 3:43Speaker 1: snuck up on me. I didn't even know how that happened.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I was like, where did you come from? I haven't
- 3:47Speaker 1: ever heard you before. I was like, let's bring it
- 3:50Speaker 1: to this challenge. So I've been sending the last eight
- 3:52Speaker 1: days connecting to the universe, doing my practices, meditations, prayers,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you know, really defining my faith statement, developing my spiritual redeveloping,
- 4:00Speaker 1: reconnecting to my spiritual faith. And in the last eight days,
- 4:03Speaker 1: the most radical shit has gone down. You guys, Like
- 4:07Speaker 1: I made this decision that the desire I wanted was
- 4:10Speaker 1: I wanted to feel more support from the universe and
- 4:13Speaker 1: feel more support around my work and everything. God, I
- 4:17Speaker 1: gotta tell you, I mean from anything from like the
- 4:19Speaker 1: parking spot that I wanted to, like the upgrade at
- 4:22Speaker 1: the hotel. Like I showed up at the hotel and
- 4:23Speaker 1: I'm like earnly upgrades and They're like, we already gave
- 4:25Speaker 1: it to you, and I was like, duh. You know.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Then I went and I sat down. An hour later,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I had a coffee at the cafe and like an
- 4:30Speaker 1: email popped in and it was like someone offering me
- 4:33Speaker 1: like a crazy amount of money just to like show
- 4:35Speaker 1: up to an event that I would have showed up
- 4:36Speaker 1: to myself, you know. And these are things like you
- 4:38Speaker 1: know that it wasn't about the money and the abundance,
- 4:41Speaker 1: although that's wonderful, or the manifestation of a thing. What
- 4:44Speaker 1: it was with spiritual proof that the universe is supporting me.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I love that I think he spoke about it. I've
- 4:50Speaker 2: listened to a podcast a lot. But there was one
- 4:52Speaker 2: episode that my husband sent to me one day that
- 4:55Speaker 2: he was speaking about asking the universe for a sign.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And this isn't something I'd ever practiced, and he was
- 4:59Speaker 2: going for a hard time in now business how business
- 5:01Speaker 2: is called hie Doway And he said, Universe, I just
- 5:04Speaker 2: need a sign that I'm all the right path. He
- 5:06Speaker 2: went for a walk around Burley. Could you not as
- 5:08Speaker 2: he went to turn you can either go left or
- 5:10Speaker 2: you could go right, there was a sign that said
- 5:12Speaker 2: hide away.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Stop it. He was thank you, sorry, freaking out.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Oh can you talk a little bit more about that?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Because you have spoken about in your podcast, but someone
- 5:21Speaker 2: who's never done that before, could you expand on that
- 5:23Speaker 2: a little bit more?
- 5:24Speaker 1: You know, if you want to see the connection to
- 5:26Speaker 1: the universe in real time, it's nice to ask for
- 5:28Speaker 1: a sign. So you can say, I want to know
- 5:30Speaker 1: that I'm on the right path, or I want to
- 5:34Speaker 1: feel a connection to this relationship to a presence beyond
- 5:37Speaker 1: my physical site, and so you can say, show me
- 5:40Speaker 1: a sign. And so a sign could be the first
- 5:41Speaker 1: thing that comes to your mind. It could be an owl,
- 5:43Speaker 1: it could be for me, a blue butterfly, or eleven eleven,
- 5:45Speaker 1: or even if you don't ask for the specific sign,
- 5:47Speaker 1: you're gonna get it. You're gonna get with the messages
- 5:49Speaker 1: and you're going to know it's yours. But in this case,
- 5:51Speaker 1: ask for a specific sign, so maybe it's a blue
- 5:53Speaker 1: rose or something that's not very common, and you'll be
- 5:57Speaker 1: blown away by the messages you receive. So freaking cool.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Now, I've heard a lot of people over the years
- 6:04Speaker 2: when I've spoken about my infestation. I'm sure over your
- 6:06Speaker 2: years you've heard it through Like I've tried manifestation, it
- 6:09Speaker 2: doesn't work for me, Like I've tried this, or I've
- 6:12Speaker 2: wanted something and then nothing's worked out. Do you get
- 6:14Speaker 2: a little bit of pushback? And for someone who's in
- 6:16Speaker 2: that energy, obviously they're not going to be attracting what
- 6:18Speaker 2: they want. What advice do you give or how do
- 6:20Speaker 2: you teach people to get out of that mindset to
- 6:22Speaker 2: I suppose more trusting that it's going to happen the
- 6:25Speaker 2: way it's meant to happen, and letting go of the control,
- 6:27Speaker 2: but still actively going towards what they wanting.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I tell them to forget what they think they need,
- 6:31Speaker 1: because often what happens is when we're in this story
- 6:35Speaker 1: of it has to be this way or I needed
- 6:38Speaker 1: this at this moment, or it has to look exactly
- 6:40Speaker 1: like this. We're in the way of the natural order,
- 6:43Speaker 1: we're in the way of the manifestation, so we block
- 6:45Speaker 1: the manifestation. And so when you are in that place
- 6:50Speaker 1: of forgetting what you think you need, my suggestions always
- 6:52Speaker 1: to pray for the highest good for all. So just
- 6:54Speaker 1: send that message out to the universe. I welcome with
- 6:56Speaker 1: the highest good for all. I'm not trying to control this.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I want to just let in whatever is of the
- 7:01Speaker 1: highest good for all. Oh that's so beautiful. That's beautiful.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Something I'm through is even if it doesn't work out,
- 7:07Speaker 2: trust that it's going to be even better, because sometimes
- 7:09Speaker 2: we can get quite attached to an outcome.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Correct. You can say it's this or something better. That's
- 7:14Speaker 1: something I always say. That's like at my mantra, it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: this or something better. I absolutely love it. Oh that's
- 7:18Speaker 1: so beautiful. Cool.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I think what would be really cool is to is
- 7:22Speaker 3: there any of that kind of misconceptions that you think
- 7:24Speaker 3: that people might have around manifestation or manifesting that kind
- 7:28Speaker 3: of like lead them astray on their journey that maybe
- 7:30Speaker 3: make them feel fearful of it, maybe not want to
- 7:33Speaker 3: try it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that it's not that you can't do it. The
- 7:36Speaker 1: misconception about manifesting is that you can't do it, because
- 7:38Speaker 1: it's actually naturally who we are. We're always manifesting, we're
- 7:42Speaker 1: always attracting. We have to just be more deliberate about
- 7:46Speaker 1: what it is that we want to attract into our life.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And the more deliberate we are, the more we know
- 7:51Speaker 1: what we don't want, the more we know what we
- 7:52Speaker 1: do want. When we know what we do want, we
- 7:55Speaker 1: will start to adjust the way that we act and
- 7:57Speaker 1: the way that we feel and the energy that we
- 7:59Speaker 1: put out to get more in alignment with what we want.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And there's no world where you can't manifest. It's just
- 8:04Speaker 1: that you are blocking your manifestations because of the beliefs
- 8:07Speaker 1: and the patterns that you've chosen to hold on to.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And it's actually now in my tenth book, Self Help,
- 8:13Speaker 1: it's a book that's based on a therapy and it's
- 8:15Speaker 1: based on really undoing those beliefs and patterns. So while
- 8:18Speaker 1: it may not be like the sexiest manifesting book, it's
- 8:21Speaker 1: actually the greatest manifesting book, because it's going to teach
- 8:24Speaker 1: you how to relate to the parts of yourself that
- 8:26Speaker 1: are blocking your manifestations and to heal those parts of yourself.
- 8:30Speaker 1: And so that's necessary in order to really attract what
- 8:33Speaker 1: you are with what.
- 8:34Speaker 3: You were saying about, like relating to the part of
- 8:37Speaker 3: you that is blocking the manifestation. For somebody who's listening, like,
- 8:39Speaker 3: what might that look like, Like what could a part
- 8:41Speaker 3: of themselves look like that might be blocking their manifestation?
- 8:44Speaker 3: Is it the more the belief side, is it behavior.
- 8:47Speaker 1: The belief that I'm not good enough, I'm inadequate, I
- 8:49Speaker 1: can't have this, the behaviors of addictive patterns or checking out,
- 8:53Speaker 1: or self judgment or self attack or perfectionism, or I
- 8:56Speaker 1: mean just all of the protection mechanisms that we hold
- 8:58Speaker 1: on to, whether it be beliefs or patterns or feelings,
- 9:01Speaker 1: these are what are in the way. The big one
- 9:03Speaker 1: is the beliefs, right, because create the patterns and the feelings.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So that's what's in the way of what we want
- 9:09Speaker 1: to feel. And then the energy that we want to
- 9:11Speaker 1: feel is what attracts what we want to attract. So
- 9:14Speaker 1: this book is a great practice self help is what
- 9:17Speaker 1: it's called for, a four step practice for befriending the
- 9:20Speaker 1: parts of yourself that are really burdened by the beliefs
- 9:24Speaker 1: that you're not able to attract what you want.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I love how you were saying, when you were trying
- 9:28Speaker 2: to attract your drain partner, you would visualize and feel
- 9:31Speaker 2: like you are holding his hand. Is the different practices
- 9:34Speaker 2: you have if you're trying to manifest something different, like
- 9:37Speaker 2: someone's trying to manifest a big amount of money or
- 9:39Speaker 2: a house or a partner. Do you have different practices
- 9:41Speaker 2: for h or do they all kind of.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Are they're all the same? It's all the same stuff. Yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 1: you have more fun, feel the feelings of what you
- 9:49Speaker 1: want to create, be clear about what you don't want,
- 9:52Speaker 1: do more of what you do want, act as if right,
- 9:56Speaker 1: be in the energy of it, and visualization for sure.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You know, I started visualizing myself in these certain settings
- 10:02Speaker 1: and that energy feels good. When it feels good, then
- 10:06Speaker 1: you're really on the right track.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I love that such a big one. Isn't it having fun?
- 10:11Speaker 3: Like you let go of all of the need for
- 10:12Speaker 3: control and you get to just like enjoy what it
- 10:14Speaker 3: is that you're doing. And I like what you mentioned
- 10:15Speaker 3: as well about like acting as if and like putting
- 10:18Speaker 3: yourself in the shoes of the version of yourself that
- 10:20Speaker 3: you actually want to be and the person who gets
- 10:22Speaker 3: to actually like attract and call in all those things.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So beautiful you being.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Doing this work for so many, so many years. I
- 10:29Speaker 2: heard you're doing a challenge. But is there a set
- 10:31Speaker 2: routine that every single day that you do to stay
- 10:33Speaker 2: on track with your manifestation. I'm guessing it's kind of
- 10:35Speaker 2: second nature for you now, But do you have a
- 10:37Speaker 2: set routine that you do well.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I wake up every day and I focus my attention
- 10:41Speaker 1: in word, and I place my hand on my heart
- 10:42Speaker 1: and I breathe into my belly, and I start to
- 10:44Speaker 1: think about what I am appreciative of in the moment.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I do a real nice like gratitude energy sets me
- 10:50Speaker 1: up to win, puts me into the point of attraction
- 10:52Speaker 1: and what it is that I want in the morning,
- 10:54Speaker 1: and then I'm practicing my four step check in process
- 10:58Speaker 1: from self help, which is whenever I notice myself checking out,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I check in with the triggered parts of myself so
- 11:04Speaker 1: I can heal on the moment to moment pisis I
- 11:06Speaker 1: meditate throughout the day. Exercise is huge for me. I'm,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you know, forty five in perimenopause, like super in the
- 11:15Speaker 1: best shape I've ever been in my life. My food
- 11:17Speaker 1: is pristine, my exercise epic, I sweat. I do all
- 11:20Speaker 1: the things you need to do at my age to
- 11:24Speaker 1: be in your prime. Frankly, like my body is better
- 11:27Speaker 1: than ever, my hair is better than ever. Like everything's
- 11:28Speaker 1: better than ever, And that's possible when you sort yourself out.
- 11:33Speaker 2: We're big on routines and structure and knowing what we
- 11:36Speaker 2: value in life and making sure we're doing everything every
- 11:38Speaker 2: single day to keep that on track. I went to
- 11:41Speaker 2: your event last year, and it was amazing by the way.
- 11:44Speaker 2: We're so excited to come this year as well. Towards
- 11:47Speaker 2: the end, I don't know if you remember this, but
- 11:48Speaker 2: a woman stood up.
- 11:49Speaker 1: She really pushed you.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I almost felt like she was there to test you
- 11:53Speaker 2: and to almost like start a bit of a fight. Oh.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I got a tightness in my chest because I was like,
- 11:58Speaker 2: what are you even doing here if you don't align
- 12:00Speaker 2: with this or But you handled it so well, and
- 12:02Speaker 2: it just got me curious. Do you get a push
- 12:05Speaker 2: back with this work that you do?
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm not trying to convert the unconverted. My latest book
- 12:11Speaker 1: is called self Help, with big read letters saying self
- 12:13Speaker 1: help on the cover, right, like you know, about hiding
- 12:16Speaker 1: what I'm doing. So you're either going to read it
- 12:19Speaker 1: or you won't. And if you are not interested or ready,
- 12:23Speaker 1: you'll be ready. You'll read it when you need it,
- 12:24Speaker 1: or you'll find somebody else. You know. I can only
- 12:27Speaker 1: teach who's willing, and so I'm really only attracting the willing.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I really don't attract a lot of nieceayers. It just
- 12:32Speaker 1: doesn't happen. Yeah, that's really so.
- 12:35Speaker 2: You do have to be in the right face, and
- 12:36Speaker 2: everyone in divine timing when they're ready. I know if
- 12:38Speaker 2: I was to have been taught this when I was twenty,
- 12:40Speaker 2: I probably want to.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Write over my head.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but now it just feels so right, like I
- 12:45Speaker 2: can't not do this work. One thing that's really helped
- 12:47Speaker 2: me in my life, which I definitely think I've learned
- 12:50Speaker 2: from you for a very long time, is just like
- 12:52Speaker 2: even last year, I always pick a word to focus
- 12:54Speaker 2: on for the year, it was just surrender. I feel
- 12:56Speaker 2: like it took away so much anxiety and so much
- 12:59Speaker 2: control over needing things to look a certain way or
- 13:03Speaker 2: be a certain way, but just like actually surrendering this.
- 13:05Speaker 2: But I feel like it's quite hard for a lot
- 13:07Speaker 2: of people do because oh, what if this happens or
- 13:09Speaker 2: what if this doesn't happen. It's like, if you can
- 13:11Speaker 2: go and just trust that the universe is always ten
- 13:14Speaker 2: steps ahead, I'd love you to explain it better than
- 13:16Speaker 2: what I just have.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I think people get really hung up on surrender because
- 13:21Speaker 1: they think that surrender is giving up, but it's not.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Surrender is giving over. It's turning over your agenda, your timeline,
- 13:29Speaker 1: kind of like what we were saying earlier, like forget
- 13:31Speaker 1: what you think you need and pray for the highest
- 13:34Speaker 1: good for all. It does require a giving over, it
- 13:36Speaker 1: does require or letting go, but that's not giving up.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's actually really creating space to allow what's the the
- 13:43Speaker 1: highest good to come to you.
- 13:44Speaker 3: And do you feel like by doing that, even in
- 13:46Speaker 3: your own experience, has like allowed you to create those
- 13:48Speaker 3: manifestations to come in a much shorter timeline.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Absolutely, when you surrender, you accelerate your manifestations. That's really cool.
- 13:58Speaker 3: I'd love to know what the difference is for you,
- 14:00Speaker 3: at least in your experience where like the moments where
- 14:02Speaker 3: you have fully surrendered, and then in the moment it's
- 14:05Speaker 3: where you find it really clunky and you're like, oh,
- 14:07Speaker 3: where is my manifestation? Why is it not here yet?
- 14:09Speaker 3: Like why is it taking so long? Is there like
- 14:11Speaker 3: a significant difference in the behaviors and the mindsets and
- 14:15Speaker 3: the beliefs that you would do in those different states.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Would you be able to like share the difference.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that it is surrendered. Say you're not
- 14:22Speaker 1: looking for it, you're not trying to make it happen,
- 14:24Speaker 1: You're kind of just living. You're having fun, you're enjoying life,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you're not overthinking, you're not controlling, You're just at ease.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And if you think about it, that's the energy that's attractive,
- 14:36Speaker 1: that energy of ease, that energy of fun, that energy
- 14:38Speaker 1: of joy. And so our work is really to just
- 14:41Speaker 1: be as in that energy as much as possible, to
- 14:44Speaker 1: not put ourselves in the position of trying to force
- 14:47Speaker 1: something or control something, or make it the way we
- 14:49Speaker 1: think it should be, but to really be in the
- 14:52Speaker 1: energy of relaxation, joy, ease, fun. That's it. Oh so beautiful.
- 14:58Speaker 3: And with nervous system regulation, do you feel like that's
- 15:01Speaker 3: a huge part. I know you mentioned before that you meditate.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Is that a huge part of like your practice is
- 15:05Speaker 3: like bringing back your nervous system to like a more
- 15:07Speaker 3: regulated state to continue being in that state of ease.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that exercise and meditation and breath work
- 15:15Speaker 1: and big time exercise. I think exercise is one of
- 15:18Speaker 1: the greatest pathways to not only regulating your nervous system,
- 15:21Speaker 1: but also regulating your glucose levels and giving yourself not
- 15:26Speaker 1: only more energy but sustainable energy, and digesting better and
- 15:30Speaker 1: just really thinking about that full holistic approach to your
- 15:34Speaker 1: well being is where I'm really at right now.
