- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:42Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:46Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:49created for someone. With pee shyness and pee
- 0:53shyness. Is a particular form of social
- 0:56anxiety where more often than not men in public environments,
- 1:02particularly urinals, where there is no physical barrier
- 1:06between other. Men.
- 1:09Have an inability to pee in those kind of environments and
- 1:14quite often the things that can exacerbate that.
- 1:17Are. How busy it is, if there is
- 1:20people waiting, the proximity to the closest urinal.
- 1:25All of these things can make it worse, and it can lead to people
- 1:30in this loop where the harder they try to pee, then the more
- 1:35difficult it becomes. And the more conscious they
- 1:37become of how long it's taken, the more they unconsciously
- 1:41think that other people are judging them or thinking that
- 1:44they can't go to the toilet, which then makes it even worse.
- 1:47And quite often the coping strategy for men in this
- 1:50situation is to pretend they've gone to the toilet and leave.
- 1:53But obviously they still need to go to the toilet or to.
- 1:55Find something. In an enclosure, quite often a
- 1:58stall where they will go in privacy.
- 2:02This hypnosis session, however, is designed to tackle it from a
- 2:05different way. And then it uses principles like
- 2:09certain performance enhancement and performance anxiety,
- 2:12hypnosis, certain elements of the law of reverse effect.
- 2:16Because that's kind of what's happening is that the harder
- 2:18they try to pee, the more difficult it becomes.
- 2:21So we inverse that future pacing using disassociation.
- 2:25So they see the future version of them totally fine in the same
- 2:29situation. And even disassociation from
- 2:32context that they just imagine the version of them that can't
- 2:35pee has to wait outside, while the version of them that clearly
- 2:38can pee because they can pee in private and they can pee in
- 2:41stalls, goes to the urinal. So there are various things
- 2:44happening here. It was created for an
- 2:48individual, therefore not all of the suggestions will take into
- 2:52account your situation because it was created for someone else.
- 2:55So if this helps then great. But if you feel like you would
- 2:58want something more bespoke or it doesn't quite fit what your
- 3:01anxiety or experience is, there will be a link in the
- 3:04description where you can schedule a completely free
- 3:07consultation. Call to explore working with me.
- 3:10For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 3:13won't be disturbed. Relax.
- 3:15And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:50you breathe in, breathe in that feeling of calm relaxation.
- 3:57And as you exhale, feel that wonderful sense of release,
- 4:05particularly around your eyelids, your forehead, your
- 4:09jaw, So much so that with every outward breath you feel yourself
- 4:18drifting into a place of deeper and deeper relaxation that's in.
- 4:32And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 4:37And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 4:46And I want you to use the power of your imagination to imagine a
- 4:53frozen stream somewhere out in nature, in a rugged landscape.
- 5:03But I want you to see a stream that is frozen solid.
- 5:12Imagine it being picturesque, beautiful, serene even.
- 5:20But I want you to imagine standing by the side of that
- 5:24frozen stream and imagine the season is changing, shifting
- 5:34from winter to spring. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 5:40blue skies and bright sunshine. And I want you to imagine what
- 5:48it would look like and sound like for that frozen stream to
- 5:55thaw, to gradually breath by breath, start to melt away that
- 6:05frozen stream. So eventually what was frozen,
- 6:12locked and static and still starts to flow and move and
- 6:24allow the frozen stream to represent.
- 6:32Not just. Any tension and stress in your
- 6:34body that is melting away breath by breath.
- 6:42But I want you to imagine that the frozen stream represents
- 6:48something you used to believe about, something you can or
- 6:52cannot do. So as you breathe in and breathe
- 6:57out, see that belief represented in the frozen stream also
- 7:05melting away. That's it.
- 7:10Deeper and deeper, Relaxed. And maybe you could imagine a
- 7:21gentle breeze or perhaps the feeling of that warm spring
- 7:29sunshine on your skin. Just get a sense that the deeper
- 7:42you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 7:46And the more relaxed you become, the more of that tension is just
- 7:54drifting away, melting away, enabling you to go to that place
- 8:00where powerful changes take place that last forever.
- 8:13Breathing in and breathing out. Allow your shoulders to relax,
- 8:19your jaw to relax. That's it.
- 8:23Another slow breath in. And as you breathe out longer
- 8:29this time, imagine releasing tension from your body just like
- 8:37steam from a pressure valve, each breath softening,
- 8:44loosening, unwinding. And we need to get a sense that
- 8:53this place in nature, with this frozen stream that is now
- 8:56flowing, this safe, private, relaxing place represents your
- 9:04inner world place where your body and mind work in harmony.
- 9:20That's it. To stare into that flowing
- 9:27stream. Effortless, natural, and the
- 9:34stream doesn't need to try to flow.
- 9:38The stream flows exactly as it needs to.
- 9:45The stream can't try to flow. It just does.
- 9:51No forcing, no holding, just ease.
- 9:59And I want you to get a sense that you have irrefutable
- 10:04evidence that your body knows how to release, your body knows
- 10:11how to let go as memories come to mind of places where when
- 10:20you've been in a private place or a comfortable place, your
- 10:26body knew exactly what to do without trying.
- 10:32And what if all you need to do is nothing because you've been
- 10:41trying, concentrating, intending?
- 10:48But what if all you need to do is to stop trying?
- 10:55The more you try, the harder it becomes.
- 11:01But sometimes, when you have permission not to try at all, a
- 11:06door closing on a stall, things are effortlessly easy.
- 11:15The very moment you stop trying, the moment you allow, everything
- 11:22changes. I want you to imagine the moment
- 11:30you stop trying to go, you find it easier to go, and you give
- 11:36your body full permission to not need to go at all.
- 11:44Nothing to do. It's the absence of doing that
- 11:51paradoxically increases the facilitation of ease.
- 11:59You're giving yourself permission to not need.
- 12:04And then more often, things will just happen automatically,
- 12:15naturally, without thought. I want you to think of a time
- 12:23where you try to remember a PIN number or a password, and the
- 12:32harder you try to remember, the more elusive it became.
- 12:37But then maybe you return to that same thing and just put the
- 12:43password in completely automatically.
- 12:47But by not trying, it became easier.
- 12:56You allow yourself to not try because it was never about
- 13:04ability. It was about the perception, the
- 13:11pressure of needing to perform to do.
- 13:16But you don't perform. You simply are, and being you is
- 13:22more than enough. Because what if there was an
- 13:30unconscious burden not of judgement, But imagine judgement
- 13:38the moment you're private, that imagine judgement goes away
- 13:44because people are more focused on themselves than you ever
- 13:47realized. You're not the centre of their
- 13:51attention, they're caught up in their own worlds and I want you
- 13:59to get a sense that you are also no longer the centre of even
- 14:04your own judgement either. I want you to imagine out of
- 14:15nowhere you see a building next to this flowing stream, a busy
- 14:22bustling place with lots of people.
- 14:28But I want you to imagine you see a future version of you in
- 14:33that busy building, and maybe it's a social place, maybe a
- 14:39bar, a restaurant, a concert, or something else.
- 14:47I want you to imagine seeing yourself just a few days or a
- 14:52few weeks from now, and there seems to be a subtle shift.
- 14:59Something very subtle, just a slight looseness in how you
- 15:08move, a relaxation in your facial expressions.
- 15:16Very subtly more carefree and relaxed.
- 15:22Smiling just a little bit more, but not forcing a smile.
- 15:28Like this version of you seems to not care at all about the
- 15:40perceptions or judgement of other people because they are
- 15:46aligned with themselves. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 15:52that version of you relaxed socially when having
- 15:57conversations. But then imagine seeing that
- 16:02same version of you walking to the restroom and deliberately
- 16:11choosing a rhino in close proximity to someone else.
- 16:19And maybe there was no choice, it's just full of people.
- 16:24But even if there was an opportunity to choose a stall,
- 16:27see that version of you deliberately choosing a urinal
- 16:35and not a urinal. There, on the edges, by the
- 16:38sides, the most central location of all the urinals.
- 16:47See that version of you confidently and relaxed and
- 16:54effortlessly going to the toilet as easily as you would in your
- 17:04own home or a private stall? I want you to get a sense then.
- 17:12It feels like the absence of needing to do anything is
- 17:19facilitating an ease of relaxation, a sense of flow.
- 17:32That version of you isn't even thinking about it.
- 17:37Any thoughts? Concerns that parked outside of
- 17:45the restroom, that part of them is not welcome in.
- 17:53So you see in that moment, that different version of you
- 17:57effortlessly going to the toilet, going for that pee in
- 18:04that public urinal, even though there's many people there,
- 18:09perhaps even people queuing behind you, just waiting for you
- 18:12to finish and none of it matters.
- 18:19I want you to get a sense then that version of you already
- 18:24knows how to access the same normal path where you use when
- 18:31you're going for a pee in private.
- 18:36But I want you to imagine stepping into that version of
- 18:38you 10 seconds after you've finished, and then imagine
- 18:45rewinding everything, going all the way back out, and realizing
- 18:53that you need to go for a pee. I want you to imagine doing it
- 19:01in the absence of thinking. Nothing to do, nothing to think.
- 19:12And you get a sense that that old part of you, that part that
- 19:19might get subtly tense, on edge, vigilant, that version of you
- 19:30knows that they simply wait outside the restroom.
- 19:35And the part of you that is connected with this feeling of
- 19:40ease and relaxation knows exactly what to do, because
- 19:49there is nothing needed to be done.
- 19:53So in your own body, just imagine walking up to that
- 19:58restroom, mentally parking that other old version of you outside
- 20:05finding them. Central location in the urinals,
- 20:14and it's almost like your mind is drifting off somewhere else,
- 20:17like you're on autopilot thinking of a conversation you
- 20:23want to have, something you want to do.
- 20:28There is nothing you need to think about.
- 20:30It just all happens by itself, and before you know it, you've
- 20:35finished and you notice there was nothing needed to be done.
- 20:46Your brain already knows how to do this, and you can interpret
- 20:52what's happened here as a sign that old fears of judgement, no
- 20:58matter how subtle. And now in your past, not in
- 21:03your present or future. And I want you to imagine that
- 21:08what if the changes here echo into different areas of your
- 21:14life that other fears of judgement evaluations also melt
- 21:24away, like that stream of ice that melts into fresh flowing
- 21:31water. But allow your mind to think of
- 21:40the most difficult place historically that it's ever been
- 21:44for you. Busy, many people, people
- 21:49queuing, knowing that people are waiting.
- 21:54See yourself doing it fine 1st. And then when you've seen that,
- 21:59rewind it. Step into that version of you
- 22:02and then feel how good it would feel to pee without worry,
- 22:08stress, pressure, nothing at all.
- 22:16Because in the past you were trying, and the trying made it
- 22:20elusive. But this is the absence of
- 22:23trying, and if you feel any sense, any echoes of tension,
- 22:33this just means that you're expanding your comfort zone and
- 22:38you can smile to yourself with that bring it on mentality,
- 22:45refusing to back down. But nothing needed to be done.
- 22:51Just imagine that even if you were surrounded by people, you
- 22:55could imagine what it would feel like to be completely on your
- 23:02own by a stream peeing straight into the water.
- 23:10Nothing needed to be done, just allowing nature to take its
- 23:15course. And I want you to get a sense
- 23:21that this feels like training at altitude.
- 23:26You come to the conclusion that if you can pee here in this
- 23:30public place, you can do it anywhere, anywhere, at any time,
- 23:39no matter how busy or not. These things simply don't
- 23:44concern you anymore as you come to the conclusion that this will
- 23:53ripple into different areas of your life, conversations with
- 23:59new people, in public places, even in your mind.
- 24:08Simply the ripple of feeling relaxed and immune to judgement
- 24:18feels empowering. And you already know that this
- 24:23is not just about urinals or peeing.
- 24:27It's about freedom, a new identity, a new level of ease
- 24:34that spreads into every part of your life.
- 24:42I want you to get a sense that whether this happens today,
- 24:48tomorrow, a week from now, or a month from now, you have the
- 24:52irrefutable belief that it simply will change.
- 24:59And when it changes, it will be evidence that you've broken the
- 25:03loop, rewired the pattern, that this unconscious habit is then
- 25:12remaining in your past, and a subtle shift to your identity is
- 25:19activated in the present and the future.
- 25:23And that version of you feels a sense of ease and flow and
- 25:31alignment with your natural self.
- 25:35And that pressure and fear of judgement, no matter how subtle,
- 25:39all that belongs to the past. I want you to leave that busy
- 25:46building there by the stream. Return to the stream.
- 25:53Winter turned to spring and now summer, and I want you to
- 25:58imagine how good and refreshing it would be to take a dip in
- 26:05that stream and allow the stream to wash away any memories of the
- 26:11past that hold you back, rejuvenate you, make you feel
- 26:17fresh in you and at ease with this new version that you're
- 26:25becoming. It's time to leave this stream
- 26:28in your imagination and begin to return to the present.
- 26:33So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 26:38nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 26:41wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 26:43here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 26:49you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 26:54456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:58Open your eyes 910. Wide awake.
- 27:02Wide awake. Wide awake.
