- 0:01Why do you keep attracting avoidant partners and why do you
- 0:05want them back once they break up with you?
- 0:07These are the questions I'm going to answer in this video,
- 0:10as well as giving you the solution as to what you should
- 0:12do if this is you. But first, welcome back my

- 0:19soldier or a bad little soldier? Well, if you've been good, then

- 0:41and you're in. And to read our manual, go to
- 0:44nocontactsecrets.com where you can read two free chapters
- 0:48before you purchase the book. OK, so there are two reasons why
- 0:55you are into avoidant partners and I will go over those first
- 1:02and then tell you what the heck you can do about it.
- 1:06The first reason you keep attracting avoidance is because
- 1:10you had an emotionally unavailable parent.
- 1:13That parent had their own trauma that wasn't healed and they were
- 1:17not capable of being there for you the way that you would have
- 1:21liked or the way that they should have been.
- 1:23This is why I don't advise having children unless you've
- 1:27healed your own trauma. So unfortunately what happens
- 1:31when people have an unemotionally available parent
- 1:34is that more often than not, they think that there's
- 1:37something wrong with them, not that there's something wrong
- 1:39with the parent. Because at that age you don't
- 1:42think like that, your brain isn't fully developed.
- 1:44So they internalize the parents behavior and they blame
- 1:48themselves and this leads to the child becoming a people pleaser
- 1:52where they think they need to keep the parent happy in order
- 1:54to get the love that they want. And it also leads to the child
- 1:58feeling that they need to earn that love.
- 2:00So they'll start performing in order to get the love that they
- 2:04so desperately want but don't have.
- 2:06The thought is that when I'm able to get some love from
- 2:09someone who is emotionally distant, that makes me lovable.
- 2:14However, when that child becomes an adult and they're dating or
- 2:20in a relationship with someone who is emotionally available and
- 2:24who doesn't require them to please them or to earn their
- 2:28love, that child actually pushes that person away.
- 2:33They find a way to sabotage that relationship.
- 2:36Why? Because they're not used to
- 2:38accepting authentic love and they feel they have to earn it.
- 2:42Otherwise it's not real. So you subconsciously keep
- 2:47attracting avoidant partners because it allows you to repeat
- 2:50the dynamic you had with your emotionally unavailable parent.
- 2:54It feels familiar and therefore, even though it's not healthy,
- 2:58it's what you're used to and what you're comfortable with.
- 3:02And the second reason is because your nervous system is attached
- 3:09to anxiety and stress. You constantly fear being
- 3:14abandoned or rejected, which leads you to constantly feeling
- 3:18you need to prove yourself. However, your avoidant partner
- 3:22sees you as needy and as you giving too much, which then
- 3:27pushes them away, which leads you to being anxious and
- 3:31stressed. And the hamster wheel continues.
- 3:34The pattern continues. Then your nervous system becomes
- 3:38addicted to this heightened state of anxiety.
- 3:40And here's the crazy thing. You're going to keep looking for
- 3:45stressful situations so that your nervous system can
- 3:50experience what it enjoys. It wants to experience its
- 3:55addiction. Therefore, you will want to
- 3:58attract avoidant partners who are continually unavailable and
- 4:01avoidant. You know they'll provide those
- 4:04stressful feelings. This is what you're used to.
- 4:06This is what feels familiar. This is what you want to
- 4:09recreate. There's no payoff with a
- 4:12healthy, secure partner when your nervous system is not
- 4:15regulated. Remember, people never do
- 4:18anything without a payoff, even though the reason for that
- 4:21payoff sounds crazy. So if anyone is having an aha
- 4:27moment at this point, please be sure to comment below.
- 4:32Hopefully a lot of you have. So even though you want a
- 4:36healthy relationship because you subconsciously believe that you
- 4:40need to people please and earn love from people, you will not
- 4:44feel comfortable in a relationship where you don't
- 4:47have to do any of those things. You're used to stressful
- 4:51feelings, so that's what you want to recreate.
- 4:55Safe, healthy relationships are not familiar to you, so you
- 5:00reject those types of relationships and continue to go
- 5:03after people who reject you and are unavailable.
- 5:06Does that make sense? So what is the solution?
- 5:11Are you destined to always be interested in people who are
- 5:14emotionally unavailable? Well, the solution lies in
- 5:18calming your nervous system and this can be done with yoga,
- 5:23meditation, journaling, walking through nature, spending time
- 5:27with a pet. Whenever you start to feel
- 5:30anxious, have a go to activity that you know will calm you
- 5:35down. And I realized that happiness in
- 5:39life is actually about a common nervous system, as crazy as that
- 5:43sounds. No matter what you have, even if
- 5:46you have millions of dollars or if you're beautiful or handsome
- 5:50or famous or whatever, if you're always stressed and anxious, you
- 5:54won't be happy. How could you be?
- 5:57And the right partner for you is a partner who actually helps to
- 6:00balance and regulate your nervous system, not the one who
- 6:04causes it to go out of whack and for you to become anxious and
- 6:08stressful, even though that's what you're used to.
- 6:11Partners are supposed to make your life better, not worse.
- 6:15You're supposed to be happier, not sadder.
- 6:18You're supposed to be calmer, not more anxious.
- 6:21Otherwise, what's the point? What's the point of having
- 6:25someone in your life if your life isn't better as a result of
- 6:29them being in it? Like really, what is the point?
- 6:32That's what I ask my clients all the time.
- 6:36Also what you need to do is to give yourself the love that you
- 6:40didn't receive and that you want.
- 6:43And the easiest way to do this is to watch how you speak to
- 6:46yourself. Most people are very mean to
- 6:48themselves and they would never put up with the things that they
- 6:51say to themselves from another person.
- 6:53If you're willing to be mean to yourself, you're more likely to
- 6:56accept mean treatment or bad treatment from someone else.
- 6:59So stop putting yourself down and start encouraging yourself
- 7:03as if you were a child. You're basically re parenting
- 7:07yourself and being there for yourself in a way that one or
- 7:11both of your parents weren't. So say things to yourself like
- 7:15don't worry, we'll figure this out.
- 7:18We may not have all the answers, but we've gone through things in
- 7:21the past and we'll get through this now.
- 7:23Or you look so beautiful today. That dress looks really nice on
- 7:27you. That suit looks very nice on
- 7:28you. Or wow, you really handled that
- 7:31interaction well. I am so proud of you.
- 7:34Yes, you can actually talk to yourself like this.
- 7:37I do be your own best friend. After all, you're the person you
- 7:42spend the most time with, right? The bottom line is that you have
- 7:46to relearn what the definition of love is, and once you do,
- 7:50you'll no longer be attracted to people who are unavailable.
- 7:54So now I want to hear from you. As I said earlier, if you had an
