- 0:55Okay. So let's talk about moving on.
- 0:58What does that mean? Well, it Sickly means that
- 1:01person is no longer in your life or if they are the nature of the
- 1:05relationship has changed and you didn't want it to.
- 1:09So first, I'll go over some of the reasons why people find it
- 1:11hard to move on, and then I'll tell you how to go about letting
- 1:16go. So when people find it hard to
- 1:19move on from someone, it's often because they're still living
- 1:22with, what the what ifs and the possibilities that they felt the
- 1:27relationship had. So when your relationship ends
- 1:30all, The hopes and dreams that you had for it don't end at the
- 1:33exact same time. However, if all you energy is
- 1:37tied up in the past about what could have been then, how can
- 1:41you move forward or live in the present?
- 1:43Well, you can't another reason that it's hard to move on is
- 1:48because when we lose someone, our ego is bruised.
- 1:52We had expectations of how again we wanted the relationship to go
- 1:57and it didn't go that way. So it's actually your ego.
- 2:00Oh, that's her. Not you because the ego wants to
- 2:02control situations and people and you've lost control but the
- 2:06risk you take, when you get into a relationship or even when you
- 2:10date someone is that it may end. And that's the price you pay.
- 2:14That's the price of admission. People change circumstances,
- 2:18change, that's life. You can't control everyone and
- 2:21everything. Another reason people find it
- 2:25hard to move on, is the stories that you tell yourself about
- 2:30this person. You think.
- 2:31Oh, this was the love of my life.
- 2:34This was my person. I'll never find anyone better.
- 2:37No one will ever want me again. I'll never feel this way again.
- 2:40So of course you're not going to want to like go if that's how
- 2:43you feel, but feelings aren't logical.
- 2:46As I've said many times before, that is just your fearful
- 2:50mindful talking, you probably will.
- 2:53I'll find someone better. Someone else will want you.
- 2:57They were obviously not the love of your life.
- 3:00So don't listen to your fearful mind and you may be telling
- 3:05yourself that every they were everything you ever wanted.
- 3:08That's another lie, but that's not true.
- 3:11I mean, look at it. This way someone breaking up
- 3:13with you, isn't everything you ever wanted?
- 3:15Is it? Someone who didn't see you as
- 3:18their person isn't. Everything you ever wanted
- 3:21someone cheating on you or lying on you or taking you for granted
- 3:25or giving up on? You isn't everything you ever
- 3:28wanted. Why are you forgetting this?
- 3:30Little details. You're looking at this through
- 3:32rose-colored glasses. So if you want to move on,
- 3:36you're going to have to take off those glasses.
- 3:39Now, you may also be thinking that because I'm suffering so
- 3:43much from this breakup and finding it so hard to move on.
- 3:46It's because this was a really important relationship.
- 3:49Well, not really, not necessarily, I mean, I once
- 3:52dated a guy for just a few months and it took me longer to
- 3:56get over him than the actual relationship lasted, but that
- 3:59didn't mean. It was an important
- 4:01relationship. It just has to do with things
- 4:03that it triggered within you. The relationship or the person
- 4:07triggered within you, Another reason you may find it hard to
- 4:10let go is because you gave more than you got.
- 4:14And now you feel like you didn't get a return on your investment
- 4:18so to speak. But that's on you.
- 4:20No one forced you to give more than you were getting.
- 4:23And if you were giving just to get again, that's on you.
- 4:29So when you do give it should be without expectation of getting
- 4:33something back from your partner, you give because you
- 4:35want to not because you want to be reciprocated.
- 4:38So keep that in mind in your next relationship.
- 4:44Something else that might be going on, is you think oh, I'll
- 4:47never meet anyone like them again.
- 4:49Well, you're right. I mean there's only one of them
- 4:51but you need to move on in order to meet someone who you, not
- 4:56only feel good with, but who you're actually compatible with
- 4:59and they want to be with you. That's more important than how
- 5:03you feel about someone who doesn't want to be with you.
- 5:05Because ultimately that doesn't feel so good, no matter how
- 5:08strong your feelings are for someone, if it's unrequited.
- 5:12If they don't feel the same way, then it doesn't feel good.
- 5:16And what's the point why are you still there?
- 5:20Now this is going to be a new comps on concept for almost
- 5:24everyone. If you can't move on it's
- 5:26because you put that person on a pedestal that's not the New
- 5:31Concept just bear with me or her.
- 5:34Usually the reason for that is because you want to be like
- 5:39them, not necessarily because you want to be with them.
- 5:44Okay. You're projecting your
- 5:46unfulfilled wants and desires for yourself onto your They have
- 5:51qualities that you're really attracted to and admire
- 5:54qualities that you lack but just really want.
- 5:57So instead of working on yourself to get these qualities,
- 6:01you're looking to your ex to supply them except that.
- 6:04Now they're no longer here. So basically you want them to
- 6:08save you from having to do the work yourself.
- 6:11They were your source of self-worth and you keep thinking
- 6:14about them because your psyche is pushing you to take action
- 6:18and to work on yourself. So, You can actually have those
- 6:21qualities that you admire in them.
- 6:25That won't allow you to let go. So instead of doing the work,
- 6:29you'd rather be with someone who has those qualities.
- 6:31Like, let's say someone is very friendly and popular, but you
- 6:35tend to be more of a lone wolf instead of coming out of your
- 6:39shell and working on being more friendly and popular, she was
- 6:42easier to be with someone who already has those qualities.
- 6:46But now if they're gone and you still want to be like that,
- 6:50you're going to have to do the work.
- 6:52To get to how you want to be. Does that make sense?
- 6:56And a lot of times, it's not even the person that's hard to
- 6:58get over, its the relationship and how it made you feel at
- 7:01least during the good times, your morning.
- 7:04Only the best parts of that person and that person doesn't
- 7:09exist because every person has their good sides and their bad
- 7:13sides and you're just choosing to look at the good and you're
- 7:16forgetting the bad. So getting over, someone is
- 7:19logical not emotional, the relationship was emotional, but
- 7:24your decision to move on, has to be logical because you can't
- 7:26just decide to not have feelings for someone anymore.
- 7:29When people ask, well, how can I move on from this person?
- 7:32What they're actually asking without knowing his?
- 7:35How can I move on from this person as fast as possible?
- 7:37And that's just not possible. Unless, of course, you're me.
- 7:40Haha, I don't waste time, but I know most of you aren't there
- 7:45yet. So, at some point you have to
- 7:47make a logical decision as to where you want to go.
- 7:50Do you want to stay stuck in? In the past or do you actually
- 7:53want to move forward? People say they want to move
- 7:55forward, but they don't really want to do the work that it
- 7:58takes to actually move forward. And sometimes it's because the
- 8:03Fab effect, which I talked about in my video 7 reasons, whether
- 8:06no contact rule works on, everyone is taking place in
- 8:10that. You start to forget the bad
- 8:12times and only remember the good.
- 8:15So one way to move on is to actually make a list of the bad
- 8:19times and the bad qualities. The times you were disappointed.
- 8:24And whenever you feeling down about the relationship ending
- 8:26just look in your at your list and you'll have a quick reminder
- 8:29as to why you don't want to be in that relationship.
- 8:31A ship anymore. Or why even if you do you
- 8:35shouldn't be in that relationship anymore.
- 8:37Another way to move on is to, of course focus on yourself level
- 8:42up and work on the parts of you that need working on.
- 8:45So that in your next relationship, you'll be better.
- 8:47Because if you never work on yourself, then you're really in
- 8:49ships, will never improve. You will not attract better
- 8:52people and it's constantly going to feel like Groundhog Day
- 8:57Another way to get over your ex has to distract yourself you
- 9:01need to keep your mind occupied so you're not constantly focused
- 9:04on yourself so take on something that's going to require a lot of
- 9:06time and focus. Like right now I'm taking a
- 9:09three month, intensive marketing course and it is taking up a lot
- 9:12of my time and I'm not even trying to get over anyone so I'm
- 9:17work. I'm not I don't have enough time
- 9:19to work out which to me is a crime.
- 9:21I'm turning down all social invitations.
- 9:23I'm focused every day and every night on making sure I'm For
- 9:27with this course so that I can finish on time.
- 9:31So take on a project like that, you know, moving on is a
- 9:36conscious decision where you say, I don't want to feel like
- 9:40this anymore I deserve better and even though I may still have
- 9:44feelings for my ex I'm going to do what it takes to move on.
- 9:47I love myself too much to put myself through this, any longer.
- 9:51So, moving on is ultimately, an act of self-love.
- 9:54You have to know your worth and when, you know, You're worth,
- 9:57you will not settle for someone who is not treating you, right?
- 10:00Or it doesn't feel the same way about you as you feel about
- 10:03them. Letting go is hard but trying to
- 10:07hold on to someone who doesn't want to be.
- 10:08There is even worse, but if you find that you just cannot move
- 10:13on, then, sometimes it's time to speak to a therapist.
- 10:17And finally, I want to give you a Cinderella analogy about
- 10:22moving on and this is for both guys and girls, and it is this.
- 10:28If the shoe doesn't fit, it's time to quit.
- 10:32Ha ha, they're not your person time to move on.
- 10:35And try on another shoe or maybe many other shoes who knows.
- 10:40So I want to hear from you comment below.
- 10:42And let me know why you think. You can't let go of your ex or
