- 1:22SPEAKER_00: And with that, let's get into the show.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Hi, alright.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna go through some of the questions that were left on my Instagram story yesterday.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And then if you have anything health-related health and wellness that you want to ask that you're basically a what would live do?
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: So let me know what you're struggling with.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you what I would do and some things to help.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: So oh, it seems it deleted all of the oh, because I put in another question box this morning for you guys to to manifest.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Alright, so ask me anything health and wellness related.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm gonna go through the ones that I screenshotted from before.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: So, number one is what can I do to lose weight?
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: I try everything and nothing seems to work.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: All right, so I was saying this earlier on my Instagram stories.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: When it comes to weight, weight is very energetic.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You can be eating the cleanest diet, you can be taking all the supplements.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: But A, if you are not eating enough, if you do not love yourself and you do not put safety into your body, that weight's not gonna come off.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: So if you're already eating clean and doing all of that, I would look into those three things.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: And any questions you guys have as you're joining, hello, hello, feel free to let me know.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Alright, next question is how can I heal my SIBO?
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: So it depends what the cause is of your SIBO.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Number one, you need to get rid of the foods that make SIBO worse.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: So you need to be getting rid of the alcohol, processed sugar, gluten, and all of that stuff.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Then you need to work with someone who's gonna make a protocol for you because there are different types of SIBO depending on the gas that your bacteria are emitting.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Um, whether it's methane, whether it's like depending on what it is, so make sure you know which one you have and you're working with someone because there is no blanket solution for SIBO, but generally you need to kill it off, then you need to repair the lining, and then you need to re-inoculate, which means you need to put the good bacteria back in.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Keep coming with the questions, guys.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Healthy relationship with food.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: So I love this.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: This is essentially like what I do for a living, so I love this question.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Your relationship with food is basically your relationship with your emotions and your relationship with the feminine.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: If you have a shitty relationship with food, number one, there is trauma and emotions that you are not processing that are you you're using food to cover up, so you need to purge those.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: You need to make sure you're eating enough.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: So the whole 1200 calorie thing, I know with the new year people are like restricting, and from what I see on TikTok, it's god-awful.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: People are eating like 1200 calorie what I eat in a day, isn't I'm like, but so make sure you're eating enough, make sure you're letting out emotions and heal your relationship with the feminine.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Those are the top three things that you need to do to heal your relationship with food.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: And of course, if you need help releasing any of that, then getting into well-nourished is going to help you, which opens today.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I haven't mentioned it.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Okay, how to reduce inflammation.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Number one is getting rid of the things that are putting fuel in the fire.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: So often think people think about taking supplements for inflammation, which can be really good.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: But if you're constantly putting more fuel in the fire, like processed white sugar, gluten, inflammatory oils like sunflower oil, safflower oil, canola oil, then the supp you're not gonna out-supplement all the inflammation that you're causing there.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Also make sure that you are detoxing your hormones properly.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: So is your liver sluggish?
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Is your liver working ideally?
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So you want to do that.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: What is your stress levels?
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Have you worked on stress and have you expanded your nervous system to be able to hold an appropriate amount of stress for you in your life so that your body doesn't freak out?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Are you feeding it enough?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Are you over-exercising?
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: A lot of women tend to over-exercise, which shoots up their cortisol and makes their body very puffy and very inflamed.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: If you feel like you are exhausted and puffy after a workout, chances are you're being you're driving up inflammation, which what you don't want, you're driving up cortisol, and it's too much of an intense exercise for you.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: So that's how you're gonna reduce inflammation.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: And obviously, depending on the cause, like making sure there's no like molds, heavy metals, repairing your gut, um working with your brain health, making sure you're getting enough omega-3s, doing all that kind of stuff.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: There's there's so much to do with um inflammation.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: How to stop cravings?
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Want to raid my cabin after work sometimes.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: I love this question.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Number one, are you eating enough during the day?
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Number two, what are the feeling you're actually trying to satisfy when reading your cupboards?
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Because chances are there's emotion you're not letting go that points to you not eating enough and you needing to release emotions.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Because your body's really smart.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: All right, when your body wants to feel good, it will go to the fastest thing it can to feel good.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: And we are lucky enough in our modern age that food is right in our cupboards, right?
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: We're not in paleo times having to scavenger, you know, 10 kilometers for some berries, right?
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: So your brain is smart, that's why it's doing that, but it's to numb out from another emotion, your cravings are happening because of one of those two reasons.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: And again, if you need help releasing emotion, that is but well-nourished, and or one or one or four.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Stress.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: So stress involves can you expand your uh emotional and energetic capacity in your nervous system, right?
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Think about if your nervous system is a tall at Starbucks, then the stress will overflow and it'll feel too much and you will go to emotional eating.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: You need to clear out the cup so there's nothing left in your cup in this instance, in terms of like emotions, trauma, and stress.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: And you need to expand your nervous system from a tall to a venti-sized cup so that your system can handle more without being inflamed, gaining weight, cravings, um, leaky gut, inflammation, bloating, brain fog, and all the other symptoms we get when we're stressed.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: But excellent question, Jenny.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Hello, hello.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Keep coming with the the health questions, guys.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Anything health and wellness related.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna move on to cortisol and weight gain because you're we're talking about cortisol and cravings.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Cortisol is very, very important in stress when it comes to weight loss or wanting to lose weight or firm up, whatever language you want to use around it.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: And that's because if you do not work on your stress and your emotional capacity, you will have increased cravings, a slower metabolism, eating the same amount of food and moving the same amount.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: So they've done studies, same amount of food, same amount of exercise, but manipulated the cortisol response in each person.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: The more cortisol, the tougher it is.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: It slows down your metabolism, increases cravings, and it makes you hold on to weight.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: So, independent, this is why it's so important.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: It's more than just eating a clean diet and taking your supplements.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: It is your stress cortisol response.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Now, let's say your cup, I'm gonna use a water, is filled up with a lot of stress.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: We have childhood trauma, some bullying, parents who didn't make us feel loved, uh, maybe toxic X's and breakups, and I don't know, whatever it is that you've experienced in your life that are filling up your cup in a bad way.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Then there's only this much space left in your cup.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: That little bit of like work stress pandemic is gonna make it overflow.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Then we have shitty metabolism, cravings, brain fog, bloating, weight gain, and all of that jazz.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: The number one thing, you need to take care of like your nervous system, mental, emotional health, because that dictates how effective supplements, healthy eating, and all of that are.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Another thing I will add on is self-love.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: You cannot heal a body you hate.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: It does not matter if you take, spend thousands on supplements, have the cleanest diet in the world, gluten-free, dairy-free paleo, no sugar.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know, you only eat like chicken and broccoli or whatever it is.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: If it's coming from a different intent, if it's coming from shame, guilt, hating yourself, you're never gonna have the health that you want.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: So it's it's so, so important.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: I would argue, probably like more important than the food that you eat.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: And you guys know how much you know I advocate for healthy food.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: So make sure you're taking care of all of that stuff.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Alright, guys, more questions, more questions.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Anything to do with health, wellness, healthy eating.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, someone mentioned insulin resistance.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: So, signs you have insulin resistance.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Jitters, needing coffee, unability to lose weight, really high cravings, peeing all the time.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: And basically, what happens with insulin resistance is that when you are having you're eating too much sugar, too much foods that spike your insulin.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Insulin is a fat storage hormone.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Anytime insulin goes up, it signals to the body, let's store fat.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: But when your body becomes resistant to it, then you're not getting the appropriate response of insulin, which means your cells are starving.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: So your cells are gonna continue to tell you that, like, oh, you need food, you need food, even though you don't need food because it's floating in your body, you just can't properly absorb the nutrients from the food and absorb the energy response from it, which means then your body's gonna signal your ghrelin's gonna go up, making you have cravings, making you be hungry, and you're gonna eat more, but then your body's just gonna store it as fat.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: So that's why, and I'll post um a slide on my stories about signs of insulin resistance if you miss those ones, but that's really important to be aware of because insulin resistance is tied to so much hormonal issues, PCOS.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Like hormone issues are largely, you know, you can fix with diet.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: PCOS, you can fix with diet, right?
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: So if you have some like hormonal issues like that, also look at making sure you're insulin and you're eating well for blood sugar, which means avoiding high sugary foods, modulating your insulin, um, always starting with protein and healthy fats and all of that.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Tips for when you are sick: natural remedies, lots of ginger, lots of turmeric, lots of fluids, bone broth, no sugar, um, because sugar feeds bad gut bacteria, rest, rest, like tons and tons of rest, tons of I said fluids, but like if you can do ginger tea, if you can do like turmeric tea, bone broth, fluids, rest, no sugar, ginger, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, and rest.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Rest is like the honestly the number one thing.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Cause you gotta give your body a chance.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Main causes of brain fog and the best way to manage it.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Chances are your gut is leaky.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: So your gut health is tied to your brain health.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: If you're gonna brain fog, chances are your gut is leaky.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: You need to heal your gut to heal your brain.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: You also need to make sure that you're eating enough and you need to make sure that your hormones are balanced.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: So you have an appropriate ratio of estrogen to progesterone.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: If you find that particularly you're getting brain fog at certain points in your cycle, make sure you're looking at the hormones especially.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: But brain fog is tied to leaky gut, and in some cases, depending on your history, it might be heavy metals or mold exposure.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: But depends if you've lived in a house with mold or heavy metals.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: How do you detox your liver?
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: You need to support phase one and phase- Oh, sorry, I tapped the that's weird.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, there we go.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: You need to support phase one and phase two detox using either herbs, making sure you're not adding things to the fire that make your liver overburdened.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: So getting rid of alcohol, plastics, um, the quality of your food matters a lot, so you're not like eating McDonald's and things like that.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: The if you're a female, the beauty products you use and making sure you don't have endocrine disruptors, you're not using things like dove and pantene and Ola, which are like all toxic, and all these things add up, right?
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Um, eating organic where you can, all of these things, the more you can do to not make your liver have to go into overdrive, the better it's going to be.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Making sure your hormones are balanced, right?
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Because when we have too much estrogen in our body, that puts a burden on our liver and it can't work as it's supposed to.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: So, yes, your liver detoxes naturally, however, a lot of people have overburdened and sluggish livers because of too much toxic stuff in their system.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: And again, making sure you don't have mold or heavy metals as well, because your liver could be trying to detox through those.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: How to stop after on sugar cravings.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna assume you mean how to stop sugar cravings.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: Make sure you're eating enough.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Heal your emotions because if you have sugar cravings, it's because you are craving the sweetness for life.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Because something in your life, it does not feel good, and you need to heal that and work on that.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Like I said, eating enough and making sure that your gut is balanced because if your gut is leaky, then these pesky bacteria on your gut actually tell your body to eat more sugar because that's their food.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: So you want to make sure that you're not eating the sh like the food that's gonna feed them, and then they're like, give me more, give me more.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and so the all of those will will help.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: And of course, um, you can always join Wellnourished.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: How to lose weight at 52.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: I just wanted to take a break from this podcast episode to let you guys know that I'm doing something new this month.

- 14:35SPEAKER_00: So take a screenshot, tag me, um, and you will receive this little free gift from me.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: It is my gift to you for sharing this podcast, sharing an episode that you love that resonated.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Um, and if I've helped your life in any way with this podcast, whether I've said you know one thing that just shifted your perspective or changed, I would so so appreciate you sharing.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: And yeah, this is my little gift to you.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And with that, let's get back to the episode.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Make sure, depending on your hormone levels, I don't know if you're in like menopause or perimenopause or what you are, but you'll probably need some sort of hormonal support um as you're transitioning.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Make sure you're eating enough.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: The women that I work with that are like around that age, they tend to have grown up in nay very fat is bad, they're not eating enough, and like I have them like double the food that they're eating, and they're like, I cannot believe I'm eating more and losing weight.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: This also goes for like younger people too, women in general.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Um, you're probably not eating enough, you probably need some sort of hormonal support.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Um, intermittent fasting can be really good for you, especially because um you're not looking to have children anymore, so you're more flexible.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: You can do longer fasts, which can be really good.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Um, and of course, eating enough, eating enough, eating enough is huge.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: The biggest thing I think I help people with is that they're actually eating more and they're losing weight.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Like it's happened hundreds and hundreds of times now.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Do you recommend intermittent fasting?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: We do you eat animal protein for lunch?
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: Um, not every lunch, depending on like what I've meal prepped for lunch, but generally, yes, and yes, intermittent fasting, as long as you do not have a history of eating disorders.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Reasons for water retention.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: Um, you need more electrolytes, your hormones are not balanced, and your adrenals are very taxed.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: When your adrenals are very taxed, you will retain water, you'll become more um puffy.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if your water retention is cyclical, meaning, is it just around your cycle?
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: If it's just around your cycle, then we need to balance your hormones.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: So making sure that your hormones are balanced and getting rid of all of those like endocrine disruptors and everything like that.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Is someone's hormones out of balance, but diet is great, no sugar, no insulin resistance?
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: They can yeah, they can still be out of balance because you have other hormones other than insulin, right?
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Like you have estrogen, you have progesterone, you can be eating the cleanest diet, but A, what's your relationship to the feminine?
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Is your liver working properly?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Um, have you been on birth control before?
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: There's there's so many things.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, dove, pantene, ole, neutrogena, all of those things are highly, highly toxic.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: If someone's hormones are out of yeah, I think you gotta answer that one already.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Okay, keep coming with the questions, guys.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Anything gut hormones, PCOS, fertility.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: How do you cut fasting?
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Fruits and juice.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Now, that would be the worst way to cut fasting.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: You want to cut fasting with fats and protein because if you're fasting and you cut it with fruits and juice, all that does is spike your blood sugar.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Um, and again, that spikes insulin, and then you store that, and it's going to make your cravings go out the window, and it's going to signal to your body to store instead of release.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: You always want to cut it with protein advanced.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: But good question.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's getting hot.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: It always gets hot when I do these lives.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: What are endocrine disruptors?
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Good question.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: So they are things that act and disrup disrupt your hormones from doing what they should and act in place, which means you're gonna get too much of them in your system and then things go out of balance.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: So plastics are a huge one.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Like, do not drink water out of plastic, do not store your food in plastic, and then do not use like toxic um beauty products or facial products or body products, all of that, because they will affect your hormones.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Um, make sure like your canned goods are BPA free.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, those are the big like endocrine disruptors.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: How do you know if you have leaky gut?
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Uh, I have a whole podcast on this, but I'll list the symptoms now.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Bloating, you can have constipation or diarrhea with leaky gut, brain fog, eczema, acne, psoriasis, joint pain, anxiety, depression, struggle losing weight, struggle sleeping.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Pretty much there's like there's a lot of symptoms that are tied to leaky gut.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Oftentimes people think, oh, but I'm not bloated, so I don't have leaky gut.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, but like, do you have brain fog, anxiety, psoriasis, eczema, all of these things?
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: What is what does that look like?
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Um, because there's so many things that are tied to your gut that people don't necessarily associate.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: And again, I will I will also post, I think I have a graphic that I can post on my stories for that.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Um, not sure this is in your wheelhouse, but what are some ways to notice your parasynthesis to get to notice your like working with the vagus nerve, etc.?
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: A, yes, working with the vagus nerve.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: However, if your cis your system, if you have not released trauma, will continue to react to it until you actually fully process it from your system.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: You won't be able to activate your parasympathetic nervous system if your cup is too full of traumatic shit that's happened to you that you haven't purged out.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: It just cannot go through it because your system will continue to react until you release it, until you finish the trauma.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: So that's the thing.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: Like, you need to let that fully go if you want to fully activate your parasympathetic system.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: As much as like I love, like I love biggest nerve stuff, and I do that with my clients, but it's only we do that along with emotional release for them.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Is fasting not good for PMS?
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: I've heard uh not PMS, PCOS, I've heard different things.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: It depends if you can fast appropriately.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: The biggest problem or the biggest issue when it comes to fasting is most women fast but then don't eat enough.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: That's where the problem is.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: It's that they skip a meal but they don't get enough calories in the day.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: And then when you're under-eating, it messes up your hormones.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Fasting is not bad for PCOS.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: When you do not eat enough in that fasting window, that's when it negatively affects your hormones.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: So that when people are talking about fasting is not good, it's because a lot of women cannot eat enough calories in that short amount of window.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: So do not fast if you find you cannot eat enough in that small window.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: When we do fasting, we can drink a matcha latte.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: Um so no, anytime you drink any caloric intake, your fast stops.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: So milk, your fast will completely stop.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: You will be no longer fasting.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: You can do water or um black coffee.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: How do you fight leaky gut?
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: You need to under a undergo a gut protocol, you need to make sure you're removing everything that is causing the gut to be leaky, you need to make sure you have strong boundaries, you need to stop people pleasing, you need to do emotional reliefs, you need to make sure that there's like enough amino acids in your system to rebuild the lining of the gut.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: And those were uh those are like the top like six things.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: I take birth control to help my acne, but I still get it.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: What can I do nutrition wise to help improve my skin?
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: That's because the birth control doesn't actually help your skin.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: You need to a make sure you're not having anything inflammatory.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: You need the thing why you still have acne on birth control is because birth control clogs your liver.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: If you've got acne, you have a liver problem.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Taking birth control, you are making your liver work even harder.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: So that's why you're still having it.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: You're gonna need liver support, but then you have to be careful because if you're doing too much liver support, your birth control will become ineffective and may not work properly.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: So you have to play, like you're gonna have to work with either your naturopath or someone like me to kind of work through that because the birth control is making the acne worse because it's hard in your liver.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Do you recommend wheatgrass?
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: Wheatgrass is fine.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: There's nothing wrong with wheatgrass.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: When and how much fruits per day?
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: I would focus on getting in your more important nutrients first, like your protein, your healthy fats, um, and all of like your minerals before necessarily like I'd rather you make sure you're getting in all your your other stuff first and then worry about fruits.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Generally, fruits though, like the more the earlier in the day you have them, the more chance you have to use their energy, right?
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Do you recommend a protein smoothie?
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Protein is fabulous as long as you're not putting like three bananas in it.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: Do we need more estrogen for PCOS or less?
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Less.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: PCOS generally is like high estrogen.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: Can you drink herbal green tea while fasting?
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: As long as you don't put anything in it.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Yes, like no milk.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: For leaky gut, what is the best milk substitute for coffee tea?
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Anything plant-based, as long as there's no harmful fillers and oils.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Like a lot of the plant-based milk will have canola oil or rapeseed oil.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Avoid those.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: As long as it's clean and it's like one or one or two ingredients, like you know, almonds, water, and salt or almonds, water, vanilla, something basic like that, it's fine.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: I was recommended to fast in the morning and eat fruits with coconut, yogurt, and seeds for lunch and ammo protein veggies.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: It depends how much you're eating.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: Um, it depends.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: It doesn't sound you're not getting any, I don't know if you're getting any protein um in your breakfast.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: It doesn't sound like you are, but chances are that's where the problem is.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: What foods are the most inflammatory?
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: What can I do to swap these out?
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: Gluten, vegetable oils, sugar.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: Swapping them out, gluten is very easy.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Like you can go everything gluten-free now.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: Um, like hence all the recipes on my page, you know, that because that's easy.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Um vegetable oils, use avocado oil, coconut oil, just read labels.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Um, if you go more whole food-based, you won't need to worry because vegetable oils aren't a lot of processed foods.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: So if you avoid processed foods, then you're kind of golden.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: And sugar, you want to be using more natural forms.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: So maple syrup, honey, coconut sugar, date sugar are going to be better.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: Um, I eat fruits in the morning.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: I don't drink eat fruits as an afternoon snack just because I'm mindful of my blood sugar.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Um, but like I'm more concerned if you're getting enough in protein and healthy fats.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Because from what you described, Frederick, um, that's what you need help with.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Are vitamins that have bulking agents in them bad for you?
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: It depends like if you're talking about magnesium sterile and all those fillers, like, yeah, you should not be like using Kirkland or Jameson or any of those brands.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: Because those fillers are actually more harmful than the like you're it the cost outweighs the benefit of the actual nutrient in it.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: If not lactose intolerant, do you think dairy is inflamed for PCOS people?
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking greet yucco or it depends if it's small amounts of organic grass fed.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: A small amount of organic grass fed can be okay, but like it's it's not like a good staple because it will probably like be inflammatory if it's like dose-dependent, right?
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Keep coming with the questions, guys.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: I have like a few more minutes.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: Anything else to do with gut health?
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: No, I don't eat fruits alone in the morning.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: Like I eat fruit with coconut yogurt and grain-free granola.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: Um, but I just like I don't eat fruits by themselves.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Generally.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: I've been having stomach issues for like a week and I haven't changed anything.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: The only thing I can think of is stop taking antibiotics.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: Can that be why?
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: Um, it could be stress, it could be emotions, it could be the fact that there's no gut bacteria.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: So when you take antibiotics, it kills everything, good and bad.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Chances are it killed off all the good bacteria, and now you have no good bacteria.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Are gluten-free oats okay for leaky gut?
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: I would stay away from grains if you're trying to like heal your gut and you're trying to heal your hormones and heal your body and everything like that.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Soy will disrupt your hormones.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: You definitely want to get rid of that.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: How to get rid of yeast.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: You gotta cut sugar.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Candida, you gotta cut sugar.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: There's a sugar issue there.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: Um, and then make sure you're repopulating the flora there, and also you want to do the emotional work if your candida is recurring and you're having lots of like recurrent yeast, um, there's probably an emotional route to that.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, keep coming.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: Great questions, guys.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Anything else to help you live healthy this year?
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Anything else you were struggling with and have questions about as long as it's organic non-GMO, it's fine.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: It has to be organic non-GMO.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: But I'm talking about like the the soy metal lattes at Starbucks and things like that, because that's not or like the soy that's added to food products, like the fake vegan meats and stuff like that, like the garden or the beyond meat stuff.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: What brands with potatoes, what breads are made with potatoes potato starch?
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Or breads made with potato starch are okay.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Yes, that's fine.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, what would be your recommendations when sugar cravings?
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Heal your emotions, make sure you're eating enough protein healthy fats.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Can sucralose cause bloating?
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Does in most cases, and that's because it is a fake sugar.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: Not only does sucralose cause bloating, but it upregulates your fat storage and it makes you crave more sugar.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: So what to do when you're exhausted?
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: Are you eating enough?
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: Have you healed your nervous system?
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: Um, have you done emotional release?
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: Are you supporting your adrenals?
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Are you sleeping well?
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's what I would say.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: What food lifestyle choices are good to cleanse your liver?
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Get rid of your toxic products, get rid of plastics, do not eat from plastic, do not drink from plastic.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Um, like I said, clean up all that.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Eat as clean as you can, like organic where possible.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: If not, then make sure you're washing your fruits and veggies, your organic ones, in either like a fruit and veggie wash or like um a vinegar wash.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Um, make sure that you're not drinking a lot, um, because that's obviously gonna burden your liver.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Make sure you're working through emotions.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: That's a lifestyle.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say that's a lifestyle choice because that is a lifestyle choice.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Foods, cilantro is really good.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: Like cilantro, whether it's like adding that to juices, like I add it to my smoothies in the morning or adding it to salads, cilantro is really, really good for that.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: When you say emotions, do you mean stress?
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Yes, because stress can cause emotions.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: But I also mean when I say emotions, I mean stuff that happened in high school, stuff that happened in childhood.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: All of that stuff is still stored in your body, and your body's continuing to react to it until you let it out, until you let go of it.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: And then add on things like as you become an adult, like I don't know, if there's kids, marriage, work, paying bills, and we have pandemic, right?
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: And all of that stored emotion, like I gave the analogy with the cup, there's just too much.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: Any tips for pregos first trimester and going forth?
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure if there's a specific, like as long as you're eating whole foods, you're eating well, you're getting enough nutrients in, you're taking like your folate and all that, you're golden.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: If your blood sugar is already high, what would be the remedy to lower it?
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I heard lots of rights prevent it, but not when I feel like it's already high from a meal.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: So, like, really, really try to not already have it, be high.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: A.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and then honestly, as long the next meal, go make sure you don't have a lot of sugar.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: That's like the the biggest thing.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: Because once your blood sugar is already high, it's gonna take time to bring it down.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Just don't make it even higher by having a ton of sugar in in the next meal.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: Um, cinnamon will work, like you can do a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, but like a quarter, it has to be a full quarter teaspoon of cinnamon.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: It will help to bring it down overall, but obviously, you don't want to be doing things, like if you know that you have high blood sugar, don't do the things that give you the high blood sugar.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: Do you recommend apple cider vinegar in the morning?
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, it's fine.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: There's nothing wrong with it.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: It can be really good for digestion.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: You are so welcome.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: The best smoothie recipe in the morning is when if you're using it, it depends if you're using it as a meal or you're using it as like part of your meal.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: So, like lately, I've been having a green smoothie to start my day with my breakfast that's more like full and complete.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: But if you're having smoothie as a meal, which I'm guessing that's what the question is, protein fats, fiber.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: So, like protein powder or collagen, have some avocado or nut butters, have some flax and chia, and then um blend that up.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: Best way to help dealing with releasing past traumas.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: You have to work with someone because holding space for yourself is very, very, very difficult.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: The first step, I have some podcasts on this, so go and listen to them, but start with just becoming aware of what they are, aware of how that affected you, aware of like maybe where you learned things or when things you know first happened to you.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: Like, let's say I had someone today who's always struggled with their weight, like she like has had weight packed on since she was in high school.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: And so I'm like, okay, so like what happened in high school to make that happen, to like what was going on in your life, and then you can start to become aware, like, oh, I don't know, Joey was cheating on me and broke up with me, and then you look, you started getting weight over since, right?
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: That will help you deal with releasing it by first becoming aware of what it was, because once you know what it was, then you can release it.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: You may not be able to release it if you don't know what it was.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: Brands of safe deodorants that work.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: My favorite is Bloom, it is works the best by far.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: I have tried like probably seven or eight natural deodorants, and I'm telling you, they do not all work.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: Bloom is by far my favorite.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: You are so welcome.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: I'm glad this was helpful.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: I am I am here to help.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Here to help.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I really recommend if you have not listened to my podcast, there's so many resources there for helping your hormones, helping your sugar.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: I go into depth in like either 20 or 30 minute episodes.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: Start applying that stuff to your life.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: Like, actually listen to the podcast, sit down, write down what I say, and apply it.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: And you'd be amazed like what can shift in your life.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: I don't eat too much carbonology smell of concoct, but I can't get over my listen.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, chances are that there's a hormonal issue.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: Elisia Young, I'm sorry, I cannot say your name.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Um, and so you're gonna need to work with someone like me who does what I like do to fix that because there's something else going on in your body that is not being looked at, but without knowing your medical history, I don't know.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Favorite protein powder, new zest digestive support, 100%.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: It's like the only well, A, it's tested for heavy metals, so a lot of them are not third-party tested for heavy metals, and heavy metals are just gonna make you have more like bloating and brain fog and hormonal issues.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Um and it tastes good and like it doesn't bloat afterwards, so like newsest.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: When do you eat carbs such as rice, quinoa, or lentils?
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: Evening.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: I don't eat tons of I generally only have it maybe if I'm having going out.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: Um, I stick to more complex ones like sweet potato or cassava or everything like that because it's very grounding.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: Is that the probiotic news est?
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Yes, fave safe makeup brands Ilia, and I recently discovered and started using Honest by Jessica Alba because it was on Amazon Prime and I needed makeup quickly, um, and it's like drugstore pricing, and her stuff is clean.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: So if you're like Favit, the lower cost option, Honest Beauty, and then higher cost option Ilya, I L I A, which you can get on their website, or Sephora also has Ilya.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: Alright, guys, I have a client in 10 minutes, so I have to go.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: But if you've been wanting to come a one on one, let me know.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: If you have any questions about well nourished, let me know.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Um, and other than that, I hope I answered all your questions.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: And if I didn't, um let me know if you have any ones, just send me a DM and I'll answer them.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: And I will see you guys next time.
