- Cindy Marler: Where does skill come from? How do you become someone that's skilled? Where does that come from? Well, skill is gonna come from training, experience, and practice. So you're gonna get trained on something. Okay, that's how you're gonna start the skill. Then you're gonna gain experience by doing the skill over and over again. And then once you have training and experience, you still have to practice. Otherwise, you will lose the skill. Some skills you don't lose, but even they don't sharpen. So we want to be skilled people in our five pillars, financially, physically, spiritually, within our family, and in our career. So are you being trained? Are you gaining experience? And are you practicing? Most people stop practicing once they've got trained and they have experience. They stop practicing. And that is the biggest you mistake you can make with your skills. You always should be practicing your skills with your family, with your communications, with your relationships, with your physical skills, with your mindset, with your spiritual disciplines. You always need to be practicing because skills come from all three. You get trained, you gain experience, and then you practice. And then you reach a new level and you get trained again. You gain some experience and then you practice. It is a circle that never stops. So what skills do you have and which step are you missing? Have you tried to acquire skills without training? Have you acquired skills through training but not gaining experience? What skills do you have? Or would you like to possess that? And how are you doing with these three areas of the skills? Let's not leave one out. We need to train, we need to gain experience with our skills, and we need to constantly be practicing them. This is how you become a skilled person. Let's do these things just for today.
