- 0:26Hey, everyone, welcome back
- 0:29to another episode of Love Your Love Muscle.
- 0:31I'm Seb, the founder of the Transformation Meditation Group.
- 0:34Good to see you.
- 0:35Welcome back in nature for our biweekly podcast.
- 0:38Well, it's not so long a biweekly anymore, because we
- 0:41had a little break last week, but we're starting up again.
- 0:44Sometimes things get in the way, and,
- 0:48uh, yeah, better to not stretch
- 0:51too much and just skip a week and, uh, start
- 0:54up again a week later.
- 0:55So...
- 0:56Anyway, I hope you enjoyed our last session with Christina.
- 0:59longer interview about relationships,
- 1:03and how mental health, and social
- 1:06media, and everything like that plays a role.
- 1:10that's a very interesting interview, with a
- 1:13great lady, that knows a lot about relationships,
- 1:17and spirituality, and a lot of Buddhist practice as well.
- 1:20So you will hear, if you haven't listened to that episode.
- 1:24If you go and listen, you will hear
- 1:27a lot about that, and a combination of those things.
- 1:29So, yeah.
- 1:31Um...
- 1:33I was debating with myself what to
- 1:36do as a theme today.
- 1:38And, um...
- 1:40I was a bit pondering about,
- 1:43uh... a
- 1:46study I, not I published, but I found
- 1:49a study that I published in our, um,
- 1:54knowledge base on patron.
- 1:57As you know, we have a knowledge base with studies, videos, interviews,
- 2:02documentaries, everything that
- 2:05has to do with heart based living, meditation, mindfulness,
- 2:08health regulation techniques, mental health.
- 2:11But it's a treasure trove for everything related to
- 2:14what we talk about in this podcast, my workshops,
- 2:18courses, et cetera.
- 2:19So, yeah, go and find it.
- 2:21But that article I published there was
- 2:25about some larger study that looked at
- 2:28hundreds of different studies about mindfulness,
- 2:32meditation, self regulation techniques and mental health.
- 2:35And the conclusion was that, um, it's a good practice.
- 2:40Meditation is very nice, very good, in,
- 2:44as a additional,
- 2:47additional practice, alongside, if you go to,
- 2:51if you have trouble with mental health, you go to your
- 2:55mental health expert, doing meditation alongside
- 2:58that is of benefit.
- 3:02And, in fact, I
- 3:05have some psychologists joining my group sessions now and then.
- 3:09It's always great fun.
- 3:12They use these techniques themselves
- 3:15as well, in their practice.
- 3:17So, it's not only medication they prescribe.
- 3:20So, yeah, they're getting more and more
- 3:23interested in how we
- 3:28do things in our community, and
- 3:32help people getting better,
- 3:36getting a better understanding of their lives, their role in life,
- 3:39and to be happy, well
- 3:42functioning member of society.
- 3:45which we sometimes think might
- 3:48be a bit worrisome, especially when you
- 3:51look at, now with the football going on, again,
- 3:54soccer, for those that are in the US, it's called soccer.
- 3:57It's football for us, Europeans.
- 4:01You see, the hooligans,
- 4:04the people going on the street rioting, I mean,
- 4:07it's a weird situation.
- 4:09I'm a Formula One fan myself.
- 4:12I love sports.
- 4:13I've been a water polo player for many years.
- 4:15Um, enjoyed
- 4:18it very much, uh, and also, I like to watch
- 4:22Formula One, don't put me in the car because I will crash.
- 4:24But, yeah, the difference between mentality
- 4:28between football supporters
- 4:32and Formula One supporters, for example,
- 4:35is enormous.
- 4:38Last time I was live at the race, I was in Hungary,
- 4:41in Budapest, and there you
- 4:44sit amongst people that are supporting
- 4:47different drivers, and
- 4:50we applaud each other's drivers, and we have fun,
- 4:53and people
- 4:58wave their flags.
- 4:59They were grandmothers, with grandchildren, grandparents,
- 5:02there were families, there were babies even.
- 5:05And it's a jolly mix of
- 5:08fantastic people that have come there to enjoy,
- 5:12uh, the spirit of sports and Femula One.
- 5:14Which is weird.
- 5:16I also thought, why, why?
- 5:18Why are Formula I fans able to behave
- 5:22themselves and have a good time with each other, even with alcohol involved?
- 5:26And you can have such a great mix of people there.
- 5:30And it's just a show.
- 5:32It's a beautiful, beautiful thing to be a part of.
- 5:36Why is it so much so
- 5:39different from football supporters?
- 5:42It's amazing, that
- 5:46you can't behave, that you can't be happy for the
- 5:49other team, that's not your team, to score a
- 5:52goal sometimes.
- 5:53Of course, it's not what you come
- 5:56to see, but still, it's a good thing that they
- 5:59managed to score some goals as well, right?
- 6:02But, yeah, it's just the way we see things,
- 6:05the perspective we have on things, I guess.
- 6:08Going back to these psychologists coming
- 6:11to my workshops, in group meditations,
- 6:15they're very interested in my talks, about
- 6:18the nature of reality, how we interpret reality with our brain.
- 6:21It's, um, I have this very scientific
- 6:25way of explaining it, which, of course, they like a lot.
- 6:28And I think in this session today, we are
- 6:31going to focus on that.
- 6:33I'm going to guide you through
- 6:36a meditation, where we will shut
- 6:39off some of our senses.
- 6:41Of course, our eyes, we close our eyes.
- 6:45But we will talk about how we interpret reality,
- 6:48what is reality based on, what does it consist of?
- 6:52And why do things
- 6:55look the way they are?
- 6:56Why do we hear things the way we hear?
- 6:59So...
- 7:02Yeah.
- 7:02I think it's going to be an interesting session.
- 7:05So I'm going to turn the camera around.
- 7:08I'm going to give you a view of nature.
- 7:11And reality, as the
- 7:15camera interprets it, and
- 7:19how you will interpret it.
- 7:21when it is being processed by
- 7:24your brain and enters your mind.
- 7:26So yeah, let's go and get started, right?
- 7:30Enjoy the session.
- 7:32This will be a nice one.
- 7:36All right, everyone.
- 7:39Welcome to this beautiful scenery.
- 7:43And, um, enjoy
- 7:46the view, for those that are watching life, or
- 7:49patron supporters watching the recording,
- 7:53enjoy the sounds as well, and
- 7:56to those that are listening in, through the
- 7:59audio podcast or audio recording, enjoy the sounds,
- 8:03the birds, the water, maybe
- 8:07a little bit of wind now and then.
- 8:09It's all part of nature.
- 8:13It's all part of reality.
- 8:17And let's
- 8:20go further into reality, what it's
- 8:23about, what it consists of.
- 8:25So take a nice deep inhale through your nose.
- 8:29Exhale through your mouth, lower
- 8:32your shoulders, loosen your jaw, try to relax as much as possible.
- 8:37Find a good position, feel that you getting centered.
- 8:42And again, take a nice, deep inhale through your nose.
- 8:47And exhale through your mouth.
- 8:49Getting
- 8:53settled, slowing down.
- 8:57Now breathe calmly and deeply.
- 9:00Calm, nice, deep breaths.
- 9:06With every exhale, calm down even more.
- 9:14Relax even more.
- 9:18Get centered even more.
- 9:27If you want to, you can close your eyes, so you can look
- 9:30out of the landscape or find a point...
- 9:34that you want to focus on with your eyes.
- 9:39Continue with those calm, deep breaths.
- 9:57And notice where in your body you feel your breath the most.
- 10:07Maybe you feel your breath the most in your nostrils,
- 10:10the back of your throat.
- 10:15Maybe you feel your breath the most in your chest,
- 10:18or in your tummy.
- 10:23Notice where in your body, you feel your breath the most.
- 10:55The move that focus point into your heart space.
- 11:04Become more aware of your heart space.
- 11:11And imagine, just
- 11:14imagine, that you are breathing
- 11:17through your heart.
- 11:23Nice, calm, deep breaths,
- 11:26where you let the air
- 11:29go in and out of your chest area... through your heart.
- 12:00Let's start with... reality.
- 12:04and the understanding...
- 12:07that everything is
- 12:11built up of in reality.
- 12:17This is known since the early 1920s.
- 12:22Everything is energy.
- 12:27Also physical things.
- 12:31consist of energy, vibrating
- 12:35on a level, on a frequency and amplitude,
- 12:38that we interpret as a physical object.
- 12:43But still, build
- 12:47up out of energy.
- 12:58And our heart.
- 13:04Can sense energy.
- 13:07Our heart is a radio, transmitter, and receiver.
- 13:11The organ, our
- 13:15heart is electric.
- 13:17It's a muscle.
- 13:21We can measure the electrical signals coming from the heart.
- 13:30And therefore, the heart also emits an electromagnetic field.
- 13:34And
- 13:38like everything else that lives, everything
- 13:43that lives, emits
- 13:46an electromagnetic field.
- 13:50Even the Earth, due
- 13:54to the movement of its core and the outer layers of the
- 13:57Earth, emits an electromagnetic field.
- 14:02And every electromatic field has information,
- 14:06information
- 14:10from our heart, is
- 14:15all about our feelings,
- 14:18and emotions, our
- 14:21state of being, is encoded in that
- 14:24field, every time.
- 14:28as we change our state of being, our
- 14:31heart rhythm variation, changes, and
- 14:36information in the heart's electromonetic field changes.
- 14:40It gets picked up by other living
- 14:43beings.
- 14:46And, of course, other human beings.
- 14:56So we influence each other with
- 15:00our electromagnetic fields.
- 15:02The Earth influences
- 15:06us with its electromagnetic fields, and
- 15:10we, if we are a big enough group,
- 15:13can even influence the Earth's
- 15:16electromagnetic field.
- 15:21Energy is information.
- 15:27Remember this, this is important.
- 15:37Continue breathing through your heart.
- 15:40Imagine the electromagnetic field
- 15:43of your heart, expanding with each breath,
- 15:46becoming more aware of its surroundings.
- 15:55Incorporate as much as you can,
- 15:58inside your
- 16:02heart's electromagnetic fields.
- 16:06Sense it.
- 16:09Feel it.
- 16:14become more part of it.
- 16:20Feel the distance between you and your surroundings.
- 16:24And nature disappear.
- 16:26You're part of it.
- 16:27You're in the middle of it.
- 16:29You're an integrated whole of it.
- 17:24Now, if you haven't closed your eyes yet, do this now
- 17:27for a moment, and let us
- 17:30focuse on sound.
- 17:34Listen to the sounds around
- 17:37you, in your headphones, or
- 17:42from your device for a moment.
- 18:20Can you hear the water?
- 18:25A slight breeze, the
- 18:30sound of a boat motor, in
- 18:34the distance, a
- 18:37bird now and then, the sound of my voice.
- 18:47And if it's really quiet,
- 18:50You sometimes can hear the sound of
- 18:53your own body, your intestines,
- 18:57your breathing, your blood,
- 19:00running through your veins, your heart pumping.
- 19:05Sound
- 19:09is a wave of energy.
- 19:15going through the air.
- 19:19It reaches your ears.
- 19:23When it gets turned into an
- 19:26electric signal, and electric
- 19:30signals have information that
- 19:34our brain can interpret.
- 19:40And all these different frequencies and amplitudes
- 19:44and volumes, the
- 19:47direction where the sound is coming from.
- 19:51It's all processed by our brain.
- 19:56And our mind makes logical
- 20:00assumptions based on it.
- 20:05We distinguish different sounds as
- 20:09belonging to an animal, a
- 20:13human being, a liquid,
- 20:16machinery.
- 20:20In
- 20:25this way, we form a picture in our minds, based
- 20:29on sound,
- 20:31of reality.
- 20:50Can you imagine that a
- 20:54dog, for example, has
- 20:57different hearing capabilities.
- 21:00They can hear sound with
- 21:03a higher pitch than we do.
- 21:08So their reality, the reality of a dog, is different.
- 21:14A dog listens from a whole different perspective.
- 21:19A dog can hear high pitched sounds.
- 21:25So a dog's reality based
- 21:28on sound is broader,
- 21:31more enriched, than
- 21:35our reality.
- 21:50What you can't hear... will
- 21:55never become part of your reality, even if it's there.
- 22:07Now let that sink in for a moment.
- 22:19Now open your eyes.
- 22:23Keep breathing through your heart.
- 22:26Just gently open your eyes,
- 22:29look out over the landscape,
- 22:32or on your screen, on
- 22:36your device, or in your room.
- 22:47What you see... is
- 22:51energy.
- 22:54It's light, coming
- 22:59from the sun, reflecting on surfaces.
- 23:05Giving different colors, different
- 23:10tools, and
- 23:15that lights consist of small photons,
- 23:19packages with energy, that
- 23:22hits our eye, our lens are
- 23:26retina, and
- 23:29our eye converge this again to electric signals.
- 23:34with information that
- 23:37go to our brain to be processed.
- 23:40And from that information, our brain
- 23:43creates a picture, a video, that
- 23:48it fits to our mind.
- 23:51And we try to make sense of everything we see.
- 23:58based on what we've learned
- 24:01our history, our culture,
- 24:04and the same, of course,
- 24:07is also for our hearing.
- 24:10This whole video, this whole
- 24:13movie that we interpret.
- 24:15is just part of reality.
- 24:19But it's our reality, the way we see it.
- 24:27Some people have excellent eyesights,
- 24:31others not.
- 24:32Some people are colorblind.
- 24:35Others not.
- 24:37And just like what they are hearing, we
- 24:42therefore, each of every one
- 24:45of us has a different version of reality.
- 24:51We experience reality in different ways.
- 24:57based our cultural backgrounds, our
- 25:00upbringing, our
- 25:04genetic memory even.
- 25:08We see reality from different perspectives.
- 25:18We experience reality from
- 25:22different perspectives.
- 25:29Now that sink in
- 25:36Breathe through your heart.
- 25:41And let that sink in.
- 26:59Breathe through your heart.
- 27:01Sense your surroundings.
- 27:07Be fully present
- 27:10in your version
- 27:15of reality.
- 28:27All right, breathe normally again.
- 28:30We go with your fingers and toes.
- 28:33Slowly move your body back and forth.
- 28:36And if you had your eyes closed again, you
- 28:39can open them now, softly, gently, this
- 28:45concludes... this short
- 28:49meditation session, I'll
- 28:52see you back in a few seconds.
- 28:54Welcome back.
- 28:57Okay.
- 29:00Welcome back, everyone.
- 29:02So quite a session, right?
- 29:05And, uh, I hope, uh, even if you had your
- 29:08eyes closed, that it opened some eyes, uh,
- 29:11you can interpret it any way you want.
- 29:13But yeah, in today's world, in today's
- 29:17situation, especially here in Europe, in the West, with
- 29:21our wise politicians,
- 29:26European leaders, and
- 29:30it includes Russia, because Russia, part of Europe,
- 29:33We shouldn't forget that.
- 29:35I'm just saying that.
- 29:40He's pro Russian, I already can
- 29:44think about some people thinking that.
- 29:45I'm not pro anything.
- 29:47I am not against anything either.
- 29:48Why not, because, as you might know now?
- 29:53Each, every one of us, also,
- 29:56our leaders.
- 29:58have their version of reality.
- 30:01Reality according to them.
- 30:04And shouldn't
- 30:08it be, and I hope that after this session, you
- 30:11recognize that our goal should be to
- 30:16perceive the widest,
- 30:19broadest, most intense, not
- 30:22intense, but the most rich version
- 30:26of reality you can get.
- 30:30Because if we ourselves
- 30:33interpreted reality, you see it from
- 30:36one perspective, which is a
- 30:39limited version of reality, it can be beautiful, it
- 30:45can be the right thing for you, but
- 30:49it doesn't have to be the right thing for somebody else.
- 30:53Shouldn't we get that perspective
- 30:56and reality, that information of how
- 31:00somebody else sees reality or interpret reality?
- 31:03Shouldn't we exchange that information,
- 31:07and that way enrich each other?
- 31:12Help each other understand our perspectives.
- 31:18And if we can't do this in
- 31:21a normal behavioral,
- 31:24normal behaved way, like
- 31:29adults teach their kids, but
- 31:33don't practice themselves sometimes.
- 31:36Shouldn't that be the goal to be more enriched?
- 31:41to listen to each other, to try to
- 31:44understand each other's version of reality.
- 31:49to make concessions, to understand that
- 31:52another version of reality is
- 31:57also for you, preferable.
- 31:59Hey, I like the way you look at this.
- 32:02I find it interesting.
- 32:05Right?
- 32:08Isn't that our goal?
- 32:11Instead of screaming out, you're
- 32:15threatening me, I'm defending myself,
- 32:18and all
- 32:21that sort of thing, why should we threat each other?
- 32:25Why should we be threatening against each other?
- 32:28Why are we afraid of other people's perspective and viewpoints?
- 32:37Goes everywhere.
- 32:39And don't say that this
- 32:42country or this European leader is correct, and this
- 32:45European leader is false.
- 32:47We all have our... our viewpoints.
- 32:53And together, we should come to a conclusion.
- 32:57And also, determine
- 33:01together, what's reality we want to live in.
- 33:04And...
- 33:07to say it that way.
- 33:11If our European leaders
- 33:14are wise people and
- 33:18listen to this, they, of course, already know this.
- 33:21And then you can think, like,
- 33:24okay, let's assume our leaders
- 33:28are... knowing
- 33:31all this, they know that their perspective might be wrong, might be right.
- 33:36And they know they should take into account other
- 33:39people's perspectives and other countries' perspectives, other
- 33:42cultures, their perspectives as well.
- 33:44And there should be a dialogue there.
- 33:46There should be a total enrichments of reality,
- 33:50the understanding of reality, the world you want to live in.
- 33:54So, assuming they know all this, they are
- 33:57wise beyond their words.
- 33:59It almost makes you think that
- 34:04everything that's going on now, in
- 34:07Europe, especially.
- 34:08And for part in the Middle East for some time now.
- 34:14is a willing action.
- 34:20It's...
- 34:23It's like the need there's a need to
- 34:26be mean to each other.
- 34:29I myself am not wise enough to understand that.
- 34:37And maybe it's the other way around.
- 34:40Maybe you and me and
- 34:44all the other people listening.
- 34:45We are the wise ones.
- 34:49Who knows?
- 34:51Maybe our leaders are truly stupid.
- 34:57Maybe our leaders are truly on the level of
- 35:00the average kindergarten child, and even below that.
- 35:07I find it hard to accept that that is true.
- 35:14But I leave that to you and your perspective.
- 35:18I'm looking at a beautiful ship coming by.
- 35:23And it's too late to show it to you now.
- 35:27And that ship is part of my reality.
- 35:29You can only listen to the motor sounds,
- 35:33sound of the engines of the ship.
- 35:36So you have a less...
- 35:41a lesser experience of the reality I see.
- 35:44But, yeah.
- 35:46We're going around in circles, which is lovely.
- 35:49I like that.
- 35:50So, I hope this was an interesting session.
- 35:53It goes deep sometimes, and
- 35:57for those that are looking for entertainment all the time, maybe not what you wanted.
- 36:02But I hope that for some people,
- 36:05this was, strike the cord, or ringed
- 36:08a bell, and open some eyes, and, yeah,
- 36:12gives you food for thought.
- 36:15I hope to see you back next time.
- 36:17Take good care, be safe, and Namaste.
- 36:21Goodbye, everyone.
