Latest / Blush / The Ultimate Free, Easy & Effective, 7-Day-Cleanse
Transcript
- 0:00By this point in the winter, most of us are feeling kind of
- 0:02blah and sluggish and just looking for a way to feel
- 0:07better. I know I am.
- 0:09So I came up with a little seven day cleanse for myself that is
- 0:14free. It's easy, it's accessible, it's
- 0:19not self punishing, it's actually quite fun and most
- 0:25importantly, it's really, really effective and it has lasting
- 0:28results. This isn't like a stupid juice
- 0:31cleanse where right when you're finished you just like, gorge
- 0:34yourself and you completely undo everything you did.
- 0:37No, no, this one is sustainable and has lasting results.
- 0:46Like I said, this is really, really easy.
- 0:49It's literally just three things that I plan on doing every
- 0:53single day. Number one is walk.
- 0:56And when I say walk, I'm talking walk a lot.
- 0:59So I think that if you're kind of newer to this, I would aim
- 1:03for 230 minute walks, ideally outside.
- 1:07But if that's really not accessible, by all means do it
- 1:10inside. If you're more advanced you can
- 1:13bump it up. I personally am going to aim for
- 1:17a 60 to 90 minute walk in the morning and in the evening.
- 1:21Now this is going to be a bit of a challenge time wise to fit in,
- 1:25but if I make it a priority I can totally do it.
- 1:28I mean I've managed to watch like 5 hours of Bravo every
- 1:32single day for the past few weeks so I really see no reason
- 1:35why I can't squeeze it in an hour and a half of walking every
- 1:39single day. And when I say walking, I don't
- 1:41mean like walk to the grocery store and then browse the aisles
- 1:45and stop every 5 seconds. I mean you're continuously
- 1:48moving the whole time. Not only does this just like
- 1:52Depop you so much, but it's really good for your mental
- 1:54health. It's really clearing.
- 1:57It helps ideas flow, it helps you figure out things.
- 2:00And it's really, really, really good for lymphatic drainage.
- 2:05And that brings me to the second thing I want to do every single
- 2:08day, and that's doing lymphatic drainage on my self.
- 2:12I'm going to aim to do it twice per day.
- 2:16Ideally I'll do the full shebang twice a day, but if I don't have
- 2:20time for the full shebang, I'll do the more abridged version.
- 2:24So let me explain exactly what I mean by that.
- 2:27So #1 is just opening the lymph nodes.
- 2:30And this is how I was taught to do it.
- 2:33And by taught to do it, I mean partially by judging me tea,
- 2:36partially by my dermatologist and partially by a lymphatic
- 2:42drainage masseuse on TikTok, but also partially by a few
- 2:46different certified lymphatic drainage masseuses that I've
- 2:51interacted with in real life. So number one is you want to
- 2:55touch the lymph nodes on your collarbones.
- 2:59I know I demoed this on an episode from last year, but I'm
- 3:02going to do it again. So if you're not watching on
- 3:05video, I just have my I. What do they call it?
- 3:10Like my pointer, my index finger, and my middle finger
- 3:13from both hands on the top of both of my collarbones.
- 3:17And the first thing that I'm going to do is just pull the
- 3:21skin lightly back and forth. The lymph nodes are right under
- 3:25the skin is my understanding as someone who has no medical
- 3:28training and very little knowledge of like, what the fuck
- 3:31lymph is, you know, fun times, you know, who doesn't want to
- 3:36take advice from me? So I'm just pulling the skin
- 3:39back and forth. And then I might do a little bit
- 3:42of light tapping and then some light circles.
- 3:45Again, you're not trying to get deep like a massage.
- 3:48You really want to keep it very surface level.
- 3:51So then after the collarbone, I go to my face and it's kind of
- 3:57like where my jaw meets the ear, that area.
- 4:01So you can make this like kind of Star Trek V situation, which
- 4:04by the way, I feel like I have to start watching Star Trek
- 4:07because I don't know if you've heard, but she's into sci-fi
- 4:09now. So you do kind of a Star Trek V,
- 4:12which I can do perfectly with my left hand, cannot do with my
- 4:16right hand. I don't know why.
- 4:18If you're not watching on video, my ring finger and pinky like
- 4:22cannot stay together for some reason.
- 4:25That's fun. Anyway, so that goes around.
- 4:29So the like index and middle finger go behind the ear, the
- 4:33ring and pinky finger go in front of the ear and you just
- 4:37kind of tug up and down a little bit.
- 4:40And then same thing with like doing the taps.
- 4:42And I bring the taps down to the jaw to like down along the
- 4:46jawline and then do the same circles.
- 4:50And I also will do some circles right by my nose too, and then
- 4:55go to the armpits. The same sequence, the tugging
- 4:58back and forth, the tapping, then the circles and then the
- 5:02belly. So actually do it a little bit
- 5:05differently on the belly. I like to lie down for this
- 5:08portion if possible. If not, then I just improvise.
- 5:11And I put my hands right above my belly button and I take a
- 5:15really deep breath into my belly, like make it balloon out
- 5:19like I'm nine months pregnant. And then I exhale.
- 5:22And as I exhale, I kind of tug this my skin up and put some
- 5:26pressure. So I'll do that a few times and
- 5:28then the same like tug back and forth, tap and circles
- 5:33situation. And then lastly, I go to the
- 5:36line in the groin, like where the leg meets the cunt or the
- 5:46leg meets like the fupa area, like the line if you look at a
- 5:49Barbie doll, like where the seam is that line.
- 5:53And I do the same three things again, the pull, back and forth,
- 5:57the tap, tap, tap, and the circle, circle, circle.
- 6:01And that's the abridged version that's just opening up the lymph
- 6:05nodes. I think this is really, really
- 6:06nice to do before walking too, because then as you walk, you
- 6:10really stimulate those lymph nodes, the groin lymph nodes a
- 6:14lot. So once like everything is open,
- 6:17I've heard, I don't know how accurate this is.
- 6:19I've heard this from a few doctors, but then I've also
- 6:22heard somewhat conflicting information.
- 6:25But I've heard that ultimately everything dumps out from the
- 6:28collarbone lymph nodes. Now the reason, what do I say?
- 6:32I have heard that from a few doctors, but I've also heard
- 6:34people say like no like the three most important areas are
- 6:38the collarbone, the midsection ones that are like around your
- 6:41sacral chakra and the groin ones.
- 6:44I don't really know. So for safety, I'm just like
- 6:46doing it like this. I don't fucking know.
- 6:48Now if I do the full, what did I call it?
- 6:50The full shebang? The full shebang I follow the
- 6:54opening by then dry brushing. So with the lymph, this is what
- 7:00I've been told by several people now, so I feel like I can verify
- 7:05this. You want to start from the top
- 7:10and work your way down, but always move in an upwards
- 7:13motion. So the first step of this is to
- 7:16dry brush. So I have a special dry brush
- 7:19just for my face. It's like designed for the face.
- 7:22So I go like the forehead, I brush up towards the hairline,
- 7:26do the entire forehead and then the face just kind of like go
- 7:30out like think like from nose to hairline and that kind of
- 7:37motion. Like think like from the bottom
- 7:39of the nose, like up along kind of the cheekbones that that kind
- 7:42of motion. Same thing all along the
- 7:44jawline. And then I actually this is the
- 7:48one thing I do differently. The neck I go down and both the
- 7:52back and the front of the neck I go down and then and the hands
- 7:56all go like from wrist to elbow, elbow to shoulder type vibes.
- 8:03I don't I might do like a little Oh by the way.
- 8:07Then I switched my body. Dry brush after that.
- 8:11That's the plan. So then like, brush whatever
- 8:14armpits, yadda yadda yadda, Do some circles or whatever the
- 8:18fuck are on the belly, I don't entirely know.
- 8:20And then go up the legs, right? Go from knee to groin and ankle
- 8:26to knee. And then the last step, if I'm
- 8:29doing the full shebang, is full body guasha again, starting the
- 8:33same motion, starting from the forehead and working the way
- 8:36down in the exact same order. And then I might just do a
- 8:40little a little bit more light tapping and rubbing on the
- 8:44collarbone, lymph nodes and then go for the walk.
- 8:47That's my plan. I mean, we'll see.
- 8:48This is the plan I've set for myself.
- 8:50And then the last part of this seven day cleanse is to hydrate
- 8:57very aggressively. Now I wanted to give a quick
- 9:00disclaimer. I'm someone who's used to
- 9:03drinking an insane amount of water and beverages and I do
- 9:08fine on it. But I have had incidents of
- 9:12being too hydrated before and it's quite scary.
- 9:16It feels highly unpleasant and I also know people who have
- 9:20literally died from hyperhydration.
- 9:24So when I say this, take it with a massive grain of salt.
- 9:27In fact, literally take it with a massive grain of salt because
- 9:31I want you to add a electrolytes to your water so that you don't
- 9:34do this. And also, when I say hydrate
- 9:36aggressively, I don't mean in one sitting, I mean throughout
- 9:40the day. So let me make that very, very
- 9:43clear. Do not just drink like 1 to 2
- 9:45liters of water in a row. You're not going to do well and
- 9:49it could be dangerous. So let me get this out there.
- 9:52And also if you're someone who doesn't hydrate very well now,
- 9:55don't aim for a gallon a day. That's crazy.
- 9:58I personally, I'm going to aim for about 4 liters a day, but
- 10:02I'm used to being a very hydrated person so it works for
- 10:06me and I move a lot and what I eat a lot of fiber yadda yadda
- 10:11yadda. Now for someone who's already
- 10:14like pretty wellnessy, who's pretty like well hydrated,
- 10:18etcetera. If you were to do the Suns, I
- 10:20would if you think it's safe for you and please consult with the
- 10:23doctor. I would aim for three to 4
- 10:25liters of water or fluids that aren't something like alcohol,
- 10:33like a beer doesn't count. Or also I would exclude your
- 10:37coffee and matcha from this or anything caffeinated quite
- 10:40frankly because that can dehydrate you slightly.
- 10:42I'm not saying to not have caffeinated things, I fully plan
- 10:46on having caffeinated things still, but I'm also going to
- 10:49increase my non caffeinated beverages.
- 10:52So the beverages I would have are water with trace minerals,
- 10:55coconut water in moderation. I'm not going to have like 3
- 10:59liters of coconut water. That doesn't sound like it would
- 11:01be a good sustainable health and Wellness plan.
- 11:05Aloe juice, water with lemon and mint like making little small
- 11:09waters and herbal cheese like nettle, chamomile, hibiscus,
- 11:13lemongrass, verveen, ginger, whatever it may be.
- 11:16So personally, the way that I want to do this is wake up, have
- 11:21a couple of glasses of water immediately with trace minerals
- 11:25in it and take my morning supplements and stuff like that.
- 11:28And then do my other morning beverages, which I'll do some
- 11:32glutamine in water. I'll do creatine in water.
- 11:36I have my coffee or matcha that I make with my high protein soy
- 11:41milk and coconut water, but I'm not even counting that in my
- 11:44hydration. And then the next thing I would
- 11:47have is make a big pot of tea if I need more caffeine.
- 11:50Sure, I can have like I like a Gen.
- 11:52Mycha a lot these days, which is a Japanese green tea that has
- 11:55toasted puffed brown rice in it so God.
- 11:59But if I'm ready for non caffeinated things then I'll
- 12:02make a pot. I like making Sobacha tea a lot.
- 12:06It's buckwheat tea. It's so fucking good.
- 12:10I swear it smells like a cake. I can't explain it.
- 12:13It is so delicious. That's one that I really love,
- 12:16but I could do other things like some of the other ones I listed
- 12:19and just keep making pots of tea throughout the day, drinking
- 12:22lots of aloe juice. Another way that I think makes
- 12:25this really pleasant is making yourself a giant pitcher of spa
- 12:28water every morning and working your way through it.
- 12:32You could also make like a big like a gallon size.
- 12:35For a while I went through a phase where I was making a
- 12:37gallon sized of nettle infusions every night and then in the
- 12:40morning I would strain it and just drink it throughout the
- 12:42day, whatever approach you want to take.
- 12:45And then after meals I want to have like a glass of hot water
- 12:48or just some kind of like verbane tea.
- 12:50I think is really beautiful going back to I think it was
- 12:53last week's Blush or two weeks ago's Blush Kitchen, the Verbane
- 12:57tea. Yeah, lots of options like a
- 13:00nice lemongrass. I want to keep a lemongrass
- 13:02decoction in my fridge at all times, a really condensed one,
- 13:07and then just add a little bit of hot water to it, whatever.
- 13:09This is also critical if you're doing the lymphatic drainage,
- 13:13you need to be hydrating to actually get the lymph out.
- 13:17And also if you're walking a lot, you're going to need to
- 13:19replenish that. So that's my personal three-step
- 13:24self LED detox cleanse plan to get hot again.
- 13:31It's easy. I mean, technically the only
- 13:34thing you would possibly need to pay money for is a little bit of
- 13:38herbal tea, which quite frankly you don't even need.
- 13:40You could just like fucking drink a lot of top water.
- 13:43OK, Then you'd have to buy the trace mineral drops or whatever.
- 13:46I mean, we're talking about like, at most of this whole
- 13:48extravaganza is going to cost you $10.
- 13:52Like, could it get any better than that?
- 13:54It's accessible to everyone. I don't think we need these
- 13:59like, stupid preplanned cleanses or juice fasts or what, like
- 14:04these crazy supplements or like to go away to a retreat.
- 14:08I think literally this is all it fucking takes.
- 14:10Like, it's so easy and it's gonna be effective.
- 14:14I promise I'm going to do it and I'll show you my results anyway,
- 14:19make sure you go check out Thursday's Blush Kitchen.
- 14:23This one is actually so I have noticed my weight will
- 14:29fluctuate. I don't want to say a lot
- 14:30because it's not like it fluctuates by a crazy amount,
- 14:33but it's really not steady. I'm just so used to having times
- 14:38where I feel really thin and times where I feel really
- 14:41bloated and I'm really fucking sick of it.
- 14:43I want to have it. Like I'm not saying I'm not
- 14:45going to have days where I'm bloated or whatever, that's
- 14:47fine. But it like I don't need to be
- 14:50like changing my clothes sizes, you know what I mean?
- 14:53Like that feels like too much fluctuation.
- 14:55So I did a lot of research on people whose weight tends to
- 14:59stay consistent and who are specifically consistently
- 15:04healthy and what they do differently.
- 15:07And I found some really interesting stuff nutritionally.
- 15:11And so I developed some recipes inspired by that.
- 15:14So these are basically recipes that are going to help me have a
- 15:17more steady body weight and I'm I'm really excited to share them
- 15:21with you. And they're actually like really
- 15:22fucking delicious recipes. So I think you're really going
- 15:26to love that episode. Definitely make sure to check it
- 15:28out and we will chat next week. Bye.
