- 0:01Welcome back to The BODY. Recomposition, revolution.
- 0:05This is Robin and today we are talking about the four mindset.
- 0:11Shifts that I feel. Are imperative for any woman or
- 0:16any person. To see success.
- 0:18In their health journey, when I send out initial client
- 0:22consultation forms, whether I'm doing somebody's macros or
- 0:26they're applying for a coaching position, I noticed that they
- 0:32oftentimes will cite maybe their hormones or their metabolism or.
- 0:38Their age or their job? Or their families as being the.
- 0:42Barrier or. All of them as being the
- 0:44barriers. To why?
- 0:46They keep starting over why they can't seem to be successful.
- 0:50And not often do women come to the realization that the real
- 0:55barrier, the real mountain, is you.
- 0:58Which is also a really great book, you should check it.
- 1:00Out and it is it's, it's incredibly true.
- 1:04And that realization comes with time, and it comes with
- 1:08experience, and it kind of unfolds.
- 1:12Before you whether you. Try to see it or not but.
- 1:15The real barrier? Is not all of your
- 1:17circumstances. The real barrier is.
- 1:20You. It's your mindset and.
- 1:23There are 4 facets of your. Mindset that's holding you back
- 1:28that I have found over many years of working in the fitness
- 1:32industry, even being a teacher. These are really applicable, but
- 1:35your barriers are. Balance, confidence, being at
- 1:40peace with discipline and. Gratitude, those are the
- 1:44barriers that. Hold you back.
- 1:46And today we're going to dive into them.
- 1:49The first one we are talking about is balance and balance can
- 1:54look really different from person to person.
- 1:57For me, a lot of times I am somebody who once I get an idea
- 2:03in my head that I am confident, I want to.
- 2:06Pursue I go. For it, I am like a dog with a
- 2:10bone. I'm not going to drop it.
- 2:12I'm going to do this thing or achieve it.
- 2:15I'm I'm going to. Do it better.
- 2:17Than anybody's ever seen in my brain.
- 2:19That's really how I think. Because that is just.
- 2:21My way and I often whatever it. Is like I could.
- 2:26Name a million instances. Balance is really hard for me to
- 2:30find. When I find something I'm
- 2:33passionate about, for example this business, when when I had
- 2:38all my, you know, friends start asking me.
- 2:41How do I do this? So how should I eat I?
- 2:43Started my business and I haven't stopped since.
- 2:45I am so passionate helping women understand their.
- 2:49Cycle of self. Destruction and how we can be
- 2:52stronger. Better, faster, more resilient.
- 2:56Age backwards. I love.
- 2:58Doing that there is. It is.
- 2:59I am so passionate about it and with my kids, you know, I am, I
- 3:04am very much in the know of what's going on to the point of
- 3:10it being too much. I've learned over the years and
- 3:12plus being a teacher for for many years, I am self aware
- 3:15enough to know when I need to, kind of.
- 3:17Take a back seat. So balance is oftentimes hard
- 3:21for me and. For a lot of.
- 3:24The women I coach. They feel like they're.
- 3:26Failing if they have one of those moments we are all
- 3:30familiar with and I have them still now where?
- 3:34You. Are standing in front of the
- 3:35fridge and you start eating just a little bite of something you
- 3:38know you shouldn't be eating and maybe 5 minutes later it's
- 3:42completely gone and you're standing there feeling
- 3:45incredibly defeated and you know exactly how much you just ate.
- 3:49So you throw the plant out the window, you go in the pantry and
- 3:52you start, you know, diving into everything, opening every bag.
- 3:55Why not who? Cares.
- 3:56Screw it, you already. Messed it up, that mindset that
- 4:00all or nothing mentality. That will fail you.
- 4:04Every single time it fails me every single time.
- 4:10And that mindset of. We don't need to be perfect you.
- 4:13Just need to be consistent. You need to have small
- 4:18repeatable actions. That you are.
- 4:20Taking every single day and that.
- 4:22Beats the. Extreme every time.
- 4:25So here's here's an example for me in terms of.
- 4:28Calories of how I always fail. When it comes to.
- 4:32Balance. Even though I coach women not to
- 4:34do what I'm about to tell you. I do.
- 4:37So there was this competition and it's supposed to end in a
- 4:40few weeks from now. Well, I was kind of gauging out
- 4:44the competition and I saw I'm going to have to go into.
- 4:47A really steep cut. In order to in my mind.
- 4:51Beat everybody. So I.
- 4:53Started, you know, I cut my calories down and I bumped my
- 4:58protein way up and I messed with my carbs in fat.
- 5:01Where I saw. These numbers, these macro
- 5:03numbers, and I knew they were unsustainable.
- 5:05I knew that I was doing what I told all my clients to not do,
- 5:08which was essentially kind of starve.
- 5:10Yourself. Until you get to where you need
- 5:12to be and then you can just. Reverse.
- 5:14Why do I do that? Because it never works, you
- 5:17know, Because then I have the moment of oh, I do want a bite
- 5:20of this birthday. Cake.
- 5:21And when I have the bite then I feel like I failed and or I
- 5:25don't have the bite and I go. Super.
- 5:27Extreme for those three weeks. And at the end of it, yeah, I
- 5:30feel good. I achieve my goal, but now I'm
- 5:32going to blow up because it's not sustainable.
- 5:35And that that mindset is 1 of maturity.
- 5:39I would say. And it's something that I have
- 5:41to continuously relearn the hard way, and so do all my clients
- 5:46when you're at that fridge and you start binging.
- 5:49After you have. Your little binge if it happens.
- 5:51Just stop. Just stop.
- 5:53And do not view. It as a failure.
- 5:55It was just. A little bump in the road.
- 5:58You didn't fall off the wagon. You just drop some of your crap.
- 6:01Keep going. You know where you need to go.
- 6:04You know the. Path to get there.
- 6:06You might have been derailed for a moment, but you can't let it
- 6:08stop you. And again, it's something I
- 6:12battle all the time. And this is where when women
- 6:16say, oh, I've tried everything I've.
- 6:17Tried every diet. Doesn't work for me.
- 6:19Well, no, you didn't. Because all diets work.
- 6:22You just didn't continue with it and you failed and you gave up.
- 6:26And that's fine because diets aren't sustainable, right?
- 6:29We, we know this. That's why macros to me are so
- 6:33freeing, because macros create. Structure.
- 6:37Not restriction when you're doing those.
- 6:40Keto Whatever. South Beach.
- 6:42Remember South Beach? That is all about.
- 6:44Restricting you? Are you are?
- 6:46Taking out the things you love, you can't have them.
- 6:49You can't have your Oreos. You can't have.
- 6:50Your birthday cake. With macros you can have your
- 6:53Oreos you can have your. Birthday cake.
- 6:55Just log it. Because it counts off your carbs
- 6:58and your fats, your total. Calories for the day, but it
- 7:01takes away. That feeling of I can't have
- 7:04this because when you know that you can't have something, it
- 7:08consumes you. It is that much more appealing,
- 7:11like you need it. And that's why macros are
- 7:15freedom. Have your Oreos but.
- 7:17Just have one or two, you know, have your birthday.
- 7:20Cake, but maybe just have half a piece.
- 7:22So again, that all or nothing mindset that doesn't work.
- 7:25That's not what macros. Are that?
- 7:28All or nothing mindset, that is. That is diet.
- 7:31Language and it's not. What we do?
- 7:34Now, when it comes to that moment, we were just talking
- 7:37about where you're standing in for the fridge and you.
- 7:39Feel like wow, I really really. Want a?
- 7:42Piece of this cheesecake. I'm going to give you a tip, and
- 7:46these are actually research proven.
- 7:48They really are. Here's a tip.
- 7:49You can call it a hack whatever you want.
- 7:52If you. Want to have some Oreos per SE?
- 7:56Do not grab the entire package. You're just.
- 7:59Going to take out. Three.
- 8:01Or figure out how many will fit into your macros for the day.
- 8:04Maybe it's 3. Maybe.
- 8:05It's four take out. That amount of Oreos and put it
- 8:09into a really small container. OK, then put the.
- 8:12Package away out of sight you have the four.
- 8:14Oreos in your very small container, whatever it is.
- 8:17For me, I use these little ramekins that I like to put my
- 8:20little treats in my nuts, my, my cookies, my whatever.
- 8:23Because it's a small white container that has your snack in
- 8:27it, you don't feel like you couldn't have the snack there.
- 8:30It is in your bowl. That is a psychological.
- 8:32Trick where when you have it in a little bowl, you sit down, you
- 8:35finish it, they're gone, you're not going to have that same
- 8:38desire to. Keep.
- 8:39Binging, you're not going to have that same desire.
- 8:42You don't have to have to have more.
- 8:43I mean, and maybe. You will but.
- 8:45Psychologically, when the bowl is empty, you.
- 8:47Feel satisfied. It's just a little mind hack.
- 8:50Here's another one too if. You eat.
- 8:53Off of a smaller plate if you put your food onto.
- 8:56A huge plate. You're going to eat all of the
- 8:59food. Or if you don't put a lot of
- 9:01food onto that huge plate, you're going to be left feeling
- 9:04like, Oh my gosh, I'm still hungry.
- 9:06This is a true. Tried and true tactic.
- 9:08Use a smaller plate. I actually went to the.
- 9:10Store just last week. And bought a ton of smaller
- 9:14white. Plates so that I could just use.
- 9:18Those for meal time. You wouldn't believe how
- 9:19obscenely large my plates. Were I was like.
- 9:21This is too much. So I got.
- 9:23These little these little ones and it's.
- 9:24Great, because your plate. Looks nice and Hardy and full.
- 9:27Because it's. Smaller and you feel.
- 9:29Satisfied after you. Consume the entire plate.
- 9:32Just a little hack. For you and lastly, with
- 9:35balance, I cannot express how much a plan matters in terms of
- 9:40you feeling balanced because when you plan your meals, you're
- 9:45taking away all of that decision fatigue, you're taking away the
- 9:48erratic emotions that happen when you have.
- 9:51Food at your reach. And you don't have a plan
- 9:54because when you don't have a plan, there's my mantra, plan to
- 9:58fail. So.
- 9:59Plan your day, plan your meals, put it in your app ahead of
- 10:04time. Write write it down.
- 10:06What? When are you doing your
- 10:07workouts? Put those in your calendar ahead
- 10:09of time because it is doing what you can sustain consistently
- 10:14that will bring you. Progress that will.
- 10:16Bring you balance, and if you have a real plan for what you're
- 10:20going to eat, when you're going to eat it, when your workouts
- 10:24are going to happen, that plan will.
- 10:26Carry you through. On your hardest days and not
- 10:30just your best ones. And that alleviates that
- 10:33eliminates that feeling of, Oh my gosh, that all or nothing
- 10:36mindset because you have a plan you don't need.
- 10:39To worry you are you are carried through.
- 10:41By your plan and you're not leaving a moment.
- 10:44To fall apart because you have it all figured out.
- 10:48The second mindset that women, men, everyone need to embrace
- 10:52when they are embarking on these.
- 10:55Health. Journeys.
- 10:56That all sounds so corny is confidence, and you're probably
- 10:59rolling your eyes. As I say that.
- 11:01But confidence. And when I say that, I don't
- 11:04mean in how you look, I mean confidence in who.
- 11:08You are. And the new identity you are
- 11:11embracing confidence to stand behind the choices that you now
- 11:15have to make. Publicly.
- 11:17Privately because you're. Going to have to do them in
- 11:22front of people and behind the scenes.
- 11:25And with that you're going to experience a lot of internal and
- 11:29external pressure to stay the same.
- 11:32You're going to have that pressure from yourself and
- 11:34you're going to. Have that pressure.
- 11:35From society, your friends, your coworkers, your family, they
- 11:40want a lot of times they want you to stay the same.
- 11:42They They might love you and they might want what's best for
- 11:45you, but they want what's comfortable for them.
- 11:48And when it comes to your. Peers.
- 11:49Your coworkers. If they're not good friends,
- 11:52you're right, they they want. To drag you to Happy Ever happy
- 11:55hour every week. Because they want you.
- 11:57To stay there with. Them and you have to have the
- 11:59confidence and the assertiveness to know that you made a choice.
- 12:04You have a goal. And you cannot make all the same
- 12:07choices. You always have or you're.
- 12:09Going to stay the same and I promise you.
- 12:12People will give you crap, people will say.
- 12:14Oh, she's ordering chicken. And yeah, I am.
- 12:18Then you don't need to be argumentative.
- 12:19I will often answer with, you know, true enthusiasm for the
- 12:24food I'm about to consume. Yes, Oh my.
- 12:26Gosh, I love. This chicken and they have the
- 12:28best steamed vegetables, all drenched in garlic and butter.
- 12:33You know, I enthusiastically and again, authentically will
- 12:38respond like, oh, you should. Try it.
- 12:40It's actually. Amazing, and in most cases.
- 12:44They really should try it. But that confidence in standing
- 12:48firmly in the choices that you know now have to make, that is a
- 12:52huge hindrance for people because you have friends who
- 12:56want you to be drinking beer with them on the weekends.
- 12:58You yourself might think, well, what am I going to do if I can't
- 13:02drink? Because we know alcohol has a
- 13:04ton of carbs in it, right? And it's just.
- 13:07I could name 1,000,000 reasons why it's a toxin for your body
- 13:10and how it affects your metabolism and your fat burning.
- 13:12We won't get into that. But if you really are on a
- 13:14journey of health, you're going to have to cut most alcohol out
- 13:18and for people who drink a lot, that is very anxiety inducing.
- 13:24Because that's that's a. Comfort for them, that's a
- 13:27crutch for many in social situations, it's, it's lubricant
- 13:32that it makes things easier. You can detach because you're
- 13:35kind of not there, and when you really think about that, that's
- 13:40a problem in and of. Itself, but.
- 13:42You have to make the choice. Do you want to stay the same or
- 13:45do you want to carry forward in a new, better, stronger, more
- 13:49present, healthy person? The person that you know is in
- 13:53there, but now you've come to terms with all the new choices
- 13:57you have to make and you have to make them with your chest.
- 14:00So when somebody says, oh, you're not coming, she doesn't
- 14:04go out. Nope, I'm not, I'll be in bed.
- 14:06But have fun, You know, say it with a smile because after it,
- 14:10after people give you so much crap, you just learn how to say
- 14:14it with a smile. And another facet I wanted to
- 14:17touch on in terms of confidence is when you're entering the gym.
- 14:21So when you're entering the gym and maybe you're in a body that
- 14:24you don't feel confident in in this moment right now and when
- 14:29you think about going to the gym.
- 14:30You feel like. Everybody is looking at you.
- 14:33You kind of you're looking at the ground, you're probably
- 14:36holding your phone. You think everybody in their mom
- 14:39is staring at you. You have no confidence, but
- 14:43confidence is not in How? You look, it's just.
- 14:47Standing behind the choices you're making, even when they
- 14:52are uncomfortable. Right, because you're.
- 14:55Building a new identity and confidence is deciding this is
- 14:59who I am now and acting like it. Before you.
- 15:03Actually are that person. You are believing that you are
- 15:08that person. It's that phrase.
- 15:10Fake it till you make it. And I've one of my clients when
- 15:14I was telling her like you, you know, just enter the space with
- 15:16confidence. Enter the space.
- 15:18Have your eyes upward. Enter that space with pride and
- 15:23the knowledge. That you are here for you.
- 15:26And nobody else. And she was like, that's easy
- 15:28for you to say, OK. Well, it to to her.
- 15:33Point it what it is easy for me to say and I don't I I don't
- 15:37know if I was Born This Way, but I am I am a confident person and
- 15:42I've been a confident person at. Various at all sizes.
- 15:46Of my life, you know, there was a time when I was 70 lbs heavier
- 15:50than I am now yes, I was pregnant, but there was a lot of
- 15:54in between space in there where I was, you know, not nearly
- 15:58looking nothing like I do now and.
- 16:00You're right, like. I will enter any space with
- 16:02confidence because why would I not?
- 16:05I enter any room I'm going into with my eyes up and I am here to
- 16:11meet. You where you are, because why
- 16:13would you? Enter any room with anything but
- 16:17have pride in the body you're in now, no matter.
- 16:21What it looks like. When I was 70 lbs heavier, I I
- 16:25loved my body then too. You would never hear me speak
- 16:28negatively about myself. Why would I?
- 16:30Why? Would I that my body when it.
- 16:32Was a lot bigger, housed 3 kids. It breastfed all three.
- 16:37Of them for. Maybe five years.
- 16:39Combined, I know. It was.
- 16:41It is. A snuggly place for them, you
- 16:44know, I I knew. That I could.
- 16:47Change what I needed to change when I was ready to change it.
- 16:50But when I was in that phase of life, yes, I had confidence in
- 16:54who I am and what I stand for. And now in a different body, I
- 17:00have that same confidence no matter what room I'm entering.
- 17:04This is funny. I think that men notice
- 17:06confidence a lot. Because I have heard.
- 17:09Many times in my life, not just this year, it many times in my
- 17:12life. Wow, you walk so confidently or
- 17:15you present yourself so confidently.
- 17:17Yes, I do. That is a strength of mine, but
- 17:20something about that is evident to men.
- 17:23I feel like they are more. Susceptible to a.
- 17:25Confident presence, probably because they pride themselves on
- 17:28being confident and women need to take note.
- 17:30Because. When you enter a space, no
- 17:32matter what body you're in, you know who you are and you have so
- 17:38many unique things that make you you.
- 17:41And I know that sounds incredibly corny, but it's it's.
- 17:44True. It is so true I I think.
- 17:47About all my clients and they are all different shapes and
- 17:49sizes. But there is.
- 17:50So many traits and qualities about each of them that are
- 17:54unique and I just love each and every one of them.
- 17:56They have added to my life in so many different ways that I can't
- 18:01even describe because they're unique.
- 18:04So here's a little. Exercise.
- 18:06I noticed somebody commented on me doing this a long time ago
- 18:09and I've always remembered it. When you introduce yourself from
- 18:13now on to anybody, you don't say my name is Robin.
- 18:19You say? I'm Robin take that ownership
- 18:23when I shake somebody's hand and you know we I am always
- 18:27presenting myself as I'm Robin nice to meet you Don't say my
- 18:31name is it's just a small. Little switch that is.
- 18:36I don't know, throwing a penny in your confidence bank, We just
- 18:39want to keep adding to that. And this little switch, while it
- 18:42seems insignificant, it really is significant because.
- 18:46You are you. You.
- 18:48Own that when you walk into the gym.
- 18:50You own that when you meet somebody, as I said in the
- 18:53beginning. Hit with your chest.
- 18:55You are insert name the third mindset shift.
- 19:00I love this one. Is there is peace with?
- 19:03Discipline and women, I have found, are there's no other way
- 19:07to. Describe it besides addicted.
- 19:09To chaos myself. Included because I grew up in a
- 19:13very chaotic household. Many women are They don't hate
- 19:18the discipline, but they are more comfortable in the chaos it
- 19:23it's almost. Like.
- 19:25The drama of falling off and starting over is more of a a
- 19:29comfortable. Space for.
- 19:31Many than just steady consistency.
- 19:34It's almost like the discipline that you need.
- 19:37To a lot. Of women internally it feels
- 19:40boring but that boring is where results live and in this time
- 19:48and space where we all live in chaos is rampant think.
- 19:52About all of the. Obligations you have as a woman,
- 19:56but also if you're a mom, you know, you wake up in the
- 19:58morning, you have to get the kids.
- 19:59Ready. You have to do ABCD?
- 20:01Oh, what about? EF Oh, and then there's G and
- 20:03now we can't got an H over here. There are so many moving pieces
- 20:07that. That chaos, that over.
- 20:09Stimulated chaotic state is honestly where we spend the
- 20:14majority. Of our lives.
- 20:17So when it comes to planning out your day and thinking, well, I
- 20:21have to my workout here and I'll be eating at these times, that
- 20:25seems like a foreign concept. Because you live.
- 20:27In chaos, the chaos. Is predictable.
- 20:31You are. So over stimulated at all times
- 20:35that that. Like I said.
- 20:36Has become your norm and it's wreaking havoc on your nervous
- 20:41system. Honestly, it's shooting your.
- 20:43Cortisol through the roof. You need the peace that comes
- 20:49with discipline when I think. Of the chaos.
- 20:53That was my childhood. Love you, mom.
- 20:55It was. It was simply not because my mom
- 20:57and dad were unloving or absent. It was just a lack of of.
- 21:01Consistent routine. There was a lack of.
- 21:04Of predictability and in my my education as a teacher, children
- 21:11need predictability. They need a consistent schedule
- 21:16as an adult, you need that as well.
- 21:19So I'm going to paint a. Picture of.
- 21:21A day in the. Life of.
- 21:24Somebody. Somebody with kids who has no
- 21:26routine, right? So you wake up.
- 21:30Maybe you hit snooze on your alarm a few times.
- 21:32Now you're running late, you haven't started the day with any
- 21:35movement, so you're feeling. Sluggish.
- 21:37Oh crap, you have to go. Grab the kids, you know, Wake up
- 21:40you. Guys, wake up.
- 21:41Where are your school clothes? Where are your clean clothes?
- 21:44I don't know where are mine. Where is this?
- 21:46Where is that? Did you do your homework?
- 21:48Why didn't you do your homework? Everybody's yelling, somebody's
- 21:51crying now. There's names being shouted.
- 21:53You're all running downstairs. What do we eat?
- 21:55Who knows? We have nothing prepped.
- 21:56We have nothing made. OK, let's grab these.
- 21:58Crappy snacks that are just going to, you know, shoot.
- 22:01Your blood sugar. Up and make you act like an
- 22:03insane person at school. Who cares, at least you got some
- 22:05food. Whatever, get in the car.
- 22:07Everybody's upset with everybody else.
- 22:09Your hands are shaking. You start chugging caffeine.
- 22:12Because you're still groggy your.
- 22:15Cortisol. Cortisol is now through the
- 22:17roof. You've had no protein to blunt
- 22:19that cortisol spike that you had when you woke up and all this.
- 22:22Chaos the. Caffeine on the empty stomach
- 22:24that is wreaking havoc on your body.
- 22:27OK, you're also sending your. Kids off to school.
- 22:29In complete disarray. Not OK.
- 22:32OK, so now you're on this, you know this macro kick.
- 22:35Or a diet or what have you. But you didn't prep any food, So
- 22:39what are you going to do? For breakfast, I.
- 22:40Don't know. OK, run to the gas station, grab
- 22:42a protein bar. Great choice.
- 22:44That is a great. Choice.
- 22:44If you you know, on a pinch like that, what are you going to do
- 22:47for lunch? Who knows?
- 22:48Well, everybody's going to. Chick-fil-A go to Chick-fil-A.
- 22:50We'll just grab it. Do you?
- 22:51You're now you're in a place where your cortisol spiked.
- 22:53You're really hungry. Because of that cortisol.
- 22:55Spike. It messes with your hunger
- 22:56hormones, your gorrel and your left and all of that is in.
- 22:58Disarray, so screw it. Grab the fries, it'll make you
- 23:01feel good. Now we're going to get home.
- 23:04And now that you've already fallen off your mental wagon,
- 23:07might as well just grab some other pick up food on the way
- 23:09home. Grab Pizza Hut.
- 23:11Now we can all just maintain this cycle.
- 23:14Of chaos without. Even knowing that it.
- 23:16Is a cycle of. Chaos and when is your when you
- 23:19going to have your workout you couldn't have.
- 23:21Your workout you. Were going to do your workout.
- 23:22When you got off work, but you had to go to the grocery store
- 23:26to grab. Food so that maybe you can prep
- 23:27your food tomorrow and then you also had to pick up the dry
- 23:30clean you didn't plan for that oh and then so and so has piano
- 23:33at 5:00 so never mind the dry clean you're going to have to do
- 23:35that tomorrow after work so now you can't work out for two days
- 23:38maybe you can get up early but you know you're so.
- 23:40Crashed. Out from having the cycle over
- 23:43and over. Speaking of, there's one of my
- 23:44children that you're not going to get up.
- 23:46You're not going to get up, right?
- 23:47You know, I know you're not going to get up.
- 23:48You're going to press snooze because it's a cycle.
- 23:51You live in the cycle of expected chaos.
- 23:54And I, I am not coming from a place of holier than thou
- 23:57because. I have had stages.
- 23:59In my life as a mom, when I had kids and before I had kids.
- 24:03Where it was chaotic because we all have those phases.
- 24:07And to me you can either. Embrace the chaos.
- 24:09Or you can choose discipline and the peace that comes with
- 24:13discipline. So I'm going to paint another
- 24:14picture. For you.
- 24:15Too quickly. So now we have embraced my
- 24:19children, we have embraced the discipline.
- 24:23We have a plan. You are now getting up two hours
- 24:26earlier. You're not ruling out of bed at
- 24:287, you're getting up. Out of bed at 5:00 you've
- 24:32committed to. That so when your alarm goes
- 24:33off, you're not going to press snooze because it's that
- 24:36important to you to have routine to.
- 24:39Have peace with that. Routine.
- 24:42You get up, you get all the breakfast.
- 24:44Ready you make sure the kids. Its clothes are out.
- 24:46And then you actually have time to go down in your basement and
- 24:49get a workout and you have a. Full. 60 minutes to do that now
- 24:53head back. Upstairs, you're dressed.
- 24:55You're ready and you're happy. You are.
- 24:57You are. Pleasant to be around, there's
- 24:59not. Chaos associated with your.
- 25:01Morning So now you're greeting your family, you're greeting
- 25:03your Co workers, you're greeting whoever you interact with in a
- 25:07state of. Peace.
- 25:08You're pleasant, it's nice, you have your lunch prepped and
- 25:12ready to go. You don't have to waste money
- 25:14going out to eat because. You already did that.
- 25:17And it's yummy. And it's home cooked.
- 25:19And you feel like good after you eat.
- 25:22It and not bogged down. Your kids had a great day at
- 25:25school because they were. Fed a balanced breakfast.
- 25:28They were greeted. By a nice happy mom.
- 25:32Even your dog is. Pleased because he got a walk.
- 25:35And because. You had your breakfast.
- 25:36You had your lunch pre made. You know what you're having for
- 25:39dinner because you threw it in the.
- 25:40Crock pot before. You went to work, everything is
- 25:43planned. Out it is peaceful.
- 25:46The kids are sitting there doing their homework.
- 25:48Nobody's running around the house trying to find everything
- 25:51because. You have it figured.
- 25:53Out and there is so much peace in that.
- 25:56And you stayed on your nutrition because again, it was planned
- 26:00out. And I know that the all of that
- 26:03sounds incredibly overwhelming if your life is chaos right now.
- 26:06And again, I'm not coming from a holier than thou place my life.
- 26:10Has had periods of chaos. It will probably.
- 26:13Slip back into chaos against who knows, but I'm not saying this
- 26:17from a place of me not having been there myself many times.
- 26:22So. If you're wondering where to
- 26:24start, start with your morning routine.
- 26:26Start with your morning routine. And I actually have a whole
- 26:28episode on how to build your morning routine.
- 26:31So you can look back in my episodes and just type in
- 26:33morning routine. It's pretty short, Shorter than
- 26:35this one where I'm rambling, but yes, the third one.
- 26:38Peace was peace. Comes with discipline and
- 26:41finally gratitude #4 you don't need a new body.
- 26:46You. Just need a new lens and a new
- 26:48way of looking at the body. You have.
- 26:51Again, my dog, you guys. This is what happens when I
- 26:54don't operate within. Schedule everybody else is.
- 26:57On my tail, you just need a new lens because if you have a
- 27:02mindset of lack and want instead of a mindset of ownership, you
- 27:09know, we talked about that confidence when you enter the
- 27:11room. No matter.
- 27:11Where you are physically. You enter the room with
- 27:15confidence. Embrace that sense of ownership.
- 27:19Embrace it, because whenever I'm feeling some kind of way, I
- 27:23always try to think of something.
- 27:26How would my. Life be without.
- 27:28This person or what would my. Life be like without.
- 27:31My car What would my? Life be like without access to
- 27:35this. Really nice gym or.
- 27:36How would my life? Be if we didn't have you know
- 27:40this. Job or what have you.
- 27:42Go down the list and just if you're wondering where to start,
- 27:45just to think about what the first things you touch when you
- 27:48get up in the morning, you have so much to be grateful.
- 27:51For. And when you look.
- 27:52At your body and your. Life and your surroundings with
- 27:55an attitude of just wow. I am very grateful.
- 27:58It there is research that backs this to.
- 28:01It changes your entire lens. It changes.
- 28:04Your perspective so show up with gratitude.
- 28:08Lastly, I really. Wanted to share this Instagram.
- 28:12Reel that I saw. And I'm not sure what it was
- 28:14from, I think it might have been from.
- 28:15Diary of a CEO. But.
- 28:17It was just like, whoa, because all of these.
- 28:21Things coincide with an identity that you need to.
- 28:23Embrace as being. The new you and you need to know
- 28:27that that is. Who you are?
- 28:29And on this real, this man, I don't know what his name is,
- 28:32will call Bob. He was saying think about if.
- 28:35You lived your. Life as an incredibly fit in
- 28:39shape person, that is who? You are.
- 28:40You wake up every day. You go to the gym, you do all
- 28:42the things. You are fit, you eat healthy.
- 28:45That is who you. Are.
- 28:46Now imagine if you woke up randomly one day and you were
- 28:50morbidly. Obese.
- 28:52What would you do? Well, you would know.
- 28:54Exactly what to do? And there would be no slowing
- 28:57you down from doing all the things that you knew you needed.
- 29:00To do to get back to who you are because if you view yourself as
- 29:07a healthy. Fit person and you know
- 29:09everything you need to. Do it's just a race?
- 29:12Between you and yourself to do all the things you need to do.
- 29:15To get back to who you are, or to get to who you are.
- 29:18For the first time ever but I. Thought wow, that is just.
- 29:21So eye opening and yes, because tomorrow, you know if I woke up
- 29:24200 lbs heavier I would. Know exactly what to.
- 29:26Do and you would not be able to stop me from doing all the
- 29:29things I need to do. To get back to.
- 29:30Who I am, which is someone who just.
- 29:32Lives tries to live. The healthiest version of myself
- 29:36I'm a work in. Progress.
- 29:37So are you? Ladies, thank you so much for
- 29:40tuning in today. Remember your mindset.
- 29:43Your identity? Your.
- 29:44Confidence and your willingness. To stay.
- 29:46Consistent and again just. Be grateful.
- 29:49Be grateful because. When all of those things change,
- 29:52everything else follows. Talk to you soon.
