- 0:21Brianna: Hello everyone.
- 0:22Brianna: Welcome back to this week's episode of Mocktail Minutes.
- 0:26Brianna: This is Brianna.
- 0:27Brianna: Today I'm drinking a recess, the grapefruit tangerine.
- 0:31Brianna: That's just kind of my go-to.
- 0:33Brianna: But we have a special guest on today that I will, I'm just gonna kinda let him take it away, like introduce himself, his business, his product, all that good stuff.
- 0:42Brianna: So go ahead.
- 0:43Dean Neiger: my name is Dean Niger.
- 0:44Dean Neiger: I am the CEO and co-founder of.
- 0:46Dean Neiger: Maeva, which is a nutrition shake or a meal replacement for people on the weight loss journey, and more specifically for people on GLP one.
- 0:55Brianna: Nice.
- 0:56Brianna: Okay.
- 0:57Brianna: Which is great because Bailey and I both we're, we're dieticians.
- 1:00Brianna: We work a lot with weight loss.
- 1:02Brianna: That's kind of what we do.
- 1:03Brianna: And we focus a lot on blood sugar, and so it's just kind of par for the course that a lot of people we work with trying to lose weight and focusing on blood sugar.
- 1:11Brianna: We work with people on GLP one that, and everybody is on a GLP one I feel like.
- 1:15Dean Neiger: a lot of
- 1:16Brianna: And so Bailey's.
- 1:17Brianna: Yeah, I'm like, everybody is on it.
- 1:19Brianna: And so Bailey had tried your product and she really liked it.
- 1:22Brianna: She had the chocolate and she said it like wasn't chalk wasn't chalky, wasn't grainy.
- 1:27Brianna: It has some creatine in it.
- 1:28Brianna: I know you have different products, so we'll go over that.
- 1:30Brianna: But it had some creatine in it and she just overall really liked it.
- 1:33Brianna: So let's just kind of jump in and I wanna know, did you kind of start this specifically for people on GLP ones or did it kind of just transform into maybe something like that?
- 1:45Dean Neiger: Thanks, Brianna.
- 1:45Dean Neiger: It's actually, it started for people on GLP one, and that's really one of the things that makes us different.
- 1:52Dean Neiger: we see most of the brands out there.
- 1:54Dean Neiger: They took whatever is existing, whatever they had, and they're like.
- 1:57Dean Neiger: Oh, by the way, our product is great for GLP one, and maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but I think we're really one of the only ones out there that we can say that our product was designed for people on GLP one.
- 2:09Brianna: Okay.
- 2:09Brianna: I love it.
- 2:10Brianna: Yeah, and you're right, a lot of people, it's just, oh, we, we sell protein.
- 2:13Brianna: Like this is great for GLP one.
- 2:15Brianna: You need to focus on your protein.
- 2:17Brianna: So what is it that makes your product specifically maybe more optimal for someone specifically on a GLP one rather than just every other kind of
- 2:27Dean Neiger: So,
- 2:28Brianna: powder?
- 2:29Dean Neiger: I'm gonna start off, we have three different products.
- 2:32Dean Neiger: We have our nutrition shakes or our meal replacements.
- 2:35Dean Neiger: We have the boosters that you can add to the shakes.
- 2:37Dean Neiger: And then we have our electrolytes, so our, our nutrition shakes, which is basically the base that was made, for example, one of, one of the reasons it's.
- 2:45Dean Neiger: Made specific for GLP one is because it's low calories and high protein, right?
- 2:50Dean Neiger: So you see a lot of protein shakes out there that, that are also very high in calories, high in sugar, high in all different things that you don't necessarily need when, when you're on GLP one.
- 2:59Dean Neiger: One of the other things is it contains vitamins and mine, so it's not just a protein shake.
- 3:04Dean Neiger: We have a woman version and a men version.
- 3:06Dean Neiger: In the woman version we have.
- 3:07Dean Neiger: Collagen and biotin as well.
- 3:10Dean Neiger: In the men version, we have a little bit more protein and we have also ashwaganda that helps with testosterone levels.
- 3:16Dean Neiger: So we've made specifically those products also because testosterone keeping your optimal testosterone when you're on the GLP one agonist for men can be also of an issue.
- 3:26Dean Neiger: So we are biologically different and we've made the products different for both genders.
- 3:31Dean Neiger: then.
- 3:32Dean Neiger: We like to say that we we're just not a product.
- 3:34Dean Neiger: We're a system.
- 3:35Dean Neiger: So we've developed the boosters, which are also pretty cool.
- 3:39Dean Neiger: We have a muscle booster, an energy booster, a beauty booster, and an energy booster, which really allows you to personalize your journey based on where you are.
- 3:48Dean Neiger: You're feeling a little bit, you know, of alum today, boom.
- 3:51Dean Neiger: You add a, a scoop of your energy booster to your shake.
- 3:54Dean Neiger: You're having a little bit digestive issues, which is very common when when you're on the GLP one agonist, you can add the digestive booster.
- 4:00Dean Neiger: All of them have been made with, ex, with nutrition experts in the lab have been tested.
- 4:06Dean Neiger: I'm really so glad you said that.
- 4:08Dean Neiger: Bailey likes it because we did work for, for almost a year on the formulation, making sure that it doesn't taste chalky.
- 4:14Dean Neiger: Making sure that it tasty, making sure that we provide everything that people need without making it overwhelming either.
- 4:20Brianna: Yeah.
- 4:21Brianna: Oh, I love that.
- 4:22Brianna: I didn't know I had vitamins in it, which is is important because again, on GLP one.
- 4:26Brianna: If you're going to eat less.
- 4:28Brianna: And a lot of things I see are those like vitamin deficiencies.
- 4:31Brianna: And this is a lot of times where, you know, people feel like they may be losing their hair or their skin isn't as vibrant or they're getting more sick easily, and it's just not being able to take in enough nutrients and absorb it as well.
- 4:45Brianna: So having that little kind of safety net is very helpful.
- 4:49Brianna: Can I ask in your digestion one, what, what is a nap booster?
- 4:53Brianna: I'm just curious.
- 4:54Dean Neiger: we have pre and probiotics.
- 4:56Dean Neiger: We have digestive enzymes and adaptogen and Irish CMOs.
- 5:02Brianna: Okay.
- 5:02Brianna: Yeah, so you guys definitely did your research.
- 5:05Dean Neiger: things against the wall and saying, Hey, this is a digestive booster.
- 5:08Dean Neiger: What's YY You know, when, when you, when you make a product, it's really, really important.
- 5:13Dean Neiger: And we, this is not our first, our first brand.
- 5:15Dean Neiger: And it's really important to know.
- 5:18Dean Neiger: you're putting inside, but more importantly, you
- 5:22Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 5:22Dean Neiger: you shouldn't be putting inside.
- 5:24Dean Neiger: And I think that's where a lot of brands and a lot of products go wrong.
- 5:27Dean Neiger: So we did do our homework.
- 5:29Dean Neiger: Everything
- 5:30Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 5:31Dean Neiger: clean.
- 5:31Dean Neiger: We're, we're very proud of what we've done.
- 5:33Dean Neiger: And we've actually partnered with a nutritionist called Ashley Kaf, which, which is also very well known.
- 5:40Dean Neiger: She's, she's our spokesperson and obviously she's looked at the ingredient list.
- 5:43Dean Neiger: And, you know, she's, she stands behind our, our products as well.
- 5:47Brianna: Yeah.
- 5:48Brianna: Yeah, and I'm glad that you said.
- 5:50Brianna: Knowing kind of what not to put in it too, because we have all these buzzwords, right?
- 5:54Brianna: It's like all these like, oh, adaptogens and the, you know, pre and probiotic and you know, this is great and this is great and so many things are great.
- 6:02Brianna: And I feel like a lot of companies right now are kind of just like, let's put all of it in and then like more is better when that's actually not true.
- 6:10Brianna: So it sounds like you've like picked exactly what you want in each and it has a purpose
- 6:15Dean Neiger: see,
- 6:16Brianna: which.
- 6:16Dean Neiger: know, some protein shakes that have like crazy amount of protein in it, I'm not a nutritionist, I'm not a doctor, but when, when I see like protein shakes with 40, 45, you know, grams of protein, my first question is can the body even absorb that much protein in such amount of, in such a short amount of time without the help of other vitamins, minerals, which are essentials to the absorptions of, to the absorption of protein.
- 6:41Dean Neiger: So you know, we were very careful about not only what we're putting in, but how much That's a great point.
- 6:47Dean Neiger: Yeah.
- 6:48Brianna: Yeah.
- 6:49Brianna: Yeah.
- 6:50Brianna: And I like that it is the, you know, male, female, different needs, different size people, different hormones, kind of going on.
- 6:57Brianna: Okay.
- 6:58Brianna: Okay.
- 6:59Brianna: What is kind of your biggest hope for your consumers?
- 7:03Brianna: So someone starting out and you kind of said, it's like a system right?
- 7:07Brianna: What are you hoping that they get from using your product?
- 7:10Dean Neiger: get something specifically what I, I don't necessarily want people to get something from using our product.
- 7:15Dean Neiger: What I want is for, for people on the GLP one to achieve weight health.
- 7:20Dean Neiger: And feel good about being on
- 7:22Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 7:22Dean Neiger: diet.
- 7:23Dean Neiger: Obviously we help.
- 7:24Dean Neiger: That's where we, we come in.
- 7:26Dean Neiger: When we started looking at the brand or, or, you know, creating the brand, which was a little bit over a year ago 15 months ago, we, we.
- 7:34Dean Neiger: We saw that everyone was talking about weight loss.
- 7:35Dean Neiger: That's where all the brands were going.
- 7:37Dean Neiger: Here's a pill for weight loss, the natural GLP one, this and that.
- 7:41Dean Neiger: And that's, that's how our story was born.
- 7:44Dean Neiger: Our story was born from, actually my, my brother, which is one of my co-founders.
- 7:48Dean Neiger: He wasn't a GLP one Agonist he was on Ozempic.
- 7:51Dean Neiger: He's been battling, you know, getting to weight health for a very, very long time.
- 7:57Dean Neiger: And finally with Ozempic, he achieved weight loss very quickly.
- 8:02Dean Neiger: In six months, he lost like 30 or 40 pounds.
- 8:05Dean Neiger: I, I'm not exact exactly sure of the number, but you know, he was.
- 8:09Dean Neiger: You know, he, he was looking great, but he wasn't feeling great.
- 8:13Dean Neiger: one of the things that people don't, I mean, don't know, is obviously when you're losing, when you're losing weight very quickly, you're, you're losing fat, but you're also losing muscle mass.
- 8:22Dean Neiger: Your body's actually literally eating your muscles to fuel itself because it doesn't have the calories from your intake.
- 8:29Dean Neiger: So what happens is you lose all that weight, but you lose also your muscles.
- 8:33Dean Neiger: And that's what happened with my brother.
- 8:35Dean Neiger: Your metabolism is directly correlated with your muscle mass.
- 8:39Dean Neiger: So now you found yourself with less muscle, so worse
- 8:42Brianna: Hmm.
- 8:43Dean Neiger: than you did before, and that's why people have been talking about, you know, the GLP one rebound.
- 8:48Dean Neiger: Because you find yourself you don't take care of it, right?
- 8:51Dean Neiger: If you haven't achieved weight health, you find yourself in a worse metabolic position than you did before, and you gain all that weight even more, which was, which is what happened to my brother.
- 9:02Dean Neiger: And now it's completely uncontrollable and you don't know if it worked or it didn't work, and you're completely lost.
- 9:09Dean Neiger: So what we want, we don't
- 9:11Brianna: Yeah.
- 9:12Dean Neiger: you know.
- 9:13Dean Neiger: Weight loss is obviously very important for people, but what's more important is weight health, and that's what we want people to achieve.
- 9:20Dean Neiger: And I'm just gonna say, I know I'm going on a rant here, but I'm gonna say one last thing.
- 9:24Dean Neiger: You, you know, on, on the subject.
- 9:26Dean Neiger: One of the really cool things that we've done is we've, we've partnered with a company called Social Ladder and they help us create a community online.
- 9:34Dean Neiger: So.
- 9:35Dean Neiger: One of, one of the cool things is people get rewarded when they post.
- 9:38Dean Neiger: You know, they get literally points that they can redeem against their purchase.
- 9:42Dean Neiger: They get, they get rewarded when they talk into our forums and they can.
- 9:46Dean Neiger: Then we created like those closed forums only for people who have purchased our product.
- 9:50Dean Neiger: because one of the things that we found out is very often people on the GLP one agonist to be judged by people who are not right.
- 9:59Dean Neiger: And, and we see that, and they're like, and they, and very often they, they don't know where to turn to.
- 10:04Dean Neiger: Right?
- 10:05Dean Neiger: So we've created, we are creating, we launched it last week, so, you know, it's like really, really, and, you know, just but we
- 10:12Brianna: I love it.
- 10:13Dean Neiger: space for people to be able to discuss their issues, be able to, you know, say what work, what hasn't.
- 10:18Dean Neiger: Share recipes.
- 10:19Dean Neiger: There's all these different chat rooms that we've created.
- 10:21Dean Neiger: So, I think this is part of weight health.
- 10:24Dean Neiger: There's a
- 10:25Brianna: Yes.
- 10:25Dean Neiger: part of it.
- 10:26Dean Neiger: So that's really what I'm, what I'm hoping for people on the, on the GLP one or any weight loss journeys for them to achieve that.
- 10:32Brianna: Yeah.
- 10:33Brianna: Yeah.
- 10:33Brianna: I'm hearing actually achieve weight health.
- 10:36Brianna: Feel good doing it, like feeling good, staying metabolically healthy, right?
- 10:41Brianna: Having muscle not being malnourished.
- 10:45Brianna: And then the community part, which is actually big, and we talk about that a lot on here.
- 10:48Brianna: You know, there's all of the, you know, practical.
- 10:53Brianna: Things that you do right to lose weight.
- 10:54Brianna: Like maybe you're monitoring like your protein and your calories and you're going to the gym and you're doing all these things.
- 10:59Brianna: But we like to joke at like 80% of weight loss is mindset, right?
- 11:05Brianna: Like you have to have that mindset, that positive, just that positive head space.
- 11:09Brianna: And a lot of that does come with a community because.
- 11:13Brianna: So many people are using GLP ones incorrectly, and so it's really nice to kind of have that community that's like, Hey, I am trying to do this the right way.
- 11:22Brianna: I'm taking care of my health.
- 11:23Brianna: Like almost like that support so that you feel confident to keep doing it that way, because you're right, everybody has an opinion.
- 11:31Brianna: Everybody, they have an opinion.
- 11:33Brianna: If you're on it, they have an opinion.
- 11:34Brianna: If you're not, they have an opinion, if you look a certain way.
- 11:37Brianna: So it's, it's really nice to have just like that community to bounce things off of.
- 11:41Brianna: So I love that and I love that they kind of get points for participation to go towards
- 11:47Dean Neiger: Yeah,
- 11:47Brianna: purchases.
- 11:48Dean Neiger: I mean, you know, they're, we, we want
- 11:50Brianna: Yep.
- 11:50Dean Neiger: be involved.
- 11:51Dean Neiger: We want, we really want to be able to, to, to create that community.
- 11:55Dean Neiger: But, but just, you know, to, to, to bounce back on, on one of the things that you said is there, there is psychologically, it is, it is so important.
- 12:03Dean Neiger: A lot of weight health is related to, to, to sometimes like childhood trauma, things that you've experienced, that you're going through.
- 12:12Dean Neiger: Obviously there's like hormonal changes.
- 12:14Dean Neiger: There's genetics which play a part of it, but other psychological part of it and your relationship to food people don't talk about it.
- 12:20Dean Neiger: I, I read a, I read a great book about it from, from a triple board certified physician.
- 12:25Dean Neiger: She's done a lot in the weight health space.
- 12:27Dean Neiger: Her name is Adrian M She wrote a book about GLP one.
- 12:30Dean Neiger: I highly recommend it.
- 12:31Dean Neiger: It's really about like the psychology behind you, weight health, which is not tackled enough.
- 12:37Dean Neiger: So I would, you know, if you're interested in, in that whole psychological part, this is definitely a, a, a book that I would I would try to read.
- 12:44Brianna: Yeah.
- 12:45Brianna: No, I, I'm, I'm very excited about this.
- 12:47Brianna: I didn't know that you guys had, like, the community you had mentioned that your brother's a co-founder, and obviously he has like some personal ties to stuff like this, right?
- 12:55Brianna: Like he has struggled with weight.
- 12:56Brianna: He's been on a GLP one, he's seen what it can do.
- 12:59Brianna: If you don't have that, like nutrition support curiosity, what does the rest of your team look like?
- 13:04Dean Neiger: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:05Dean Neiger: We're,
- 13:06Brianna: Okay.
- 13:06Dean Neiger: always operated super lean.
- 13:08Dean Neiger: Where we're, we're like the true startup founders where we had, we, we each wear like seven different hats.
- 13:14Dean Neiger: Within one hour sometimes.
- 13:17Dean Neiger: So we have, so we're three co-founders.
- 13:20Dean Neiger: So my brother handles everything operational and I like to say that he's sort of like the saucer and, and I'm the cup and he always calls my ideal, my ideals down.
- 13:29Dean Neiger: E even when I call him about the whole GLP one thing, I I was sitting in the, in LA traffic.
- 13:35Dean Neiger: came up with, with this idea, and I know he's been struggling with GLP one, and I call him up and he's like, Dean, great idea.
- 13:42Dean Neiger: And that's.
- 13:43Dean Neiger: That never happens from him.
- 13:44Dean Neiger: He never says that.
- 13:45Dean Neiger: I have a great idea.
- 13:46Dean Neiger: You know?
- 13:46Dean Neiger: So I'm like, okay, maybe we are onto something.
- 13:50Dean Neiger: And then I, I have another founder who's, who's his name is Gary.
- 13:52Dean Neiger: He's really into like digital space and digital marketing really help us hone on the message and, and the marketing side of it.
- 13:59Dean Neiger: and then we have someone helping us on community and we
- 14:02Brianna: Yeah.
- 14:02Dean Neiger: designer this week, so.
- 14:05Dean Neiger: We have
- 14:06Brianna: Nice.
- 14:07Dean Neiger: you know, 2, 2, 2 team members and three co-founders.
- 14:09Dean Neiger: And let's see how long we can last.
- 14:11Dean Neiger: But we definitely want everyone coming on the team.
- 14:14Dean Neiger: This is like of the main skill set that I look for is make sure that they're, they're okay doing a little bit of everything.
- 14:22Dean Neiger: And you know, if you hire a graphic designer, hey, you might be doing a little bit of influencer marketing and that's okay.
- 14:27Dean Neiger: And you know, and I wanna see if that person likes it or not.
- 14:30Dean Neiger: And, it gives them growth opportunities as well.
- 14:33Brianna: Yeah.
- 14:34Brianna: Yeah.
- 14:34Brianna: And it gives you guys control, right?
- 14:37Brianna: Of who all has like their hands in the pot so that you can make sure this is continuing to kind of align with what we want,
- 14:44Dean Neiger: definitely co the control part I, I saw with, with my previous brand where, you know, at some point we, we, we, we grew pretty fast and we hired a bunch of people.
- 14:53Dean Neiger: And if, if you also don't do it very inten intentionally, which, which we didn't, you start getting attrition and people leaving and it changes the culture.
- 15:03Dean Neiger: There's a lot.
- 15:04Dean Neiger: Human resource is probably like
- 15:06Brianna: Yeah.
- 15:06Dean Neiger: the most difficult part.
- 15:08Dean Neiger: Finding the right person.
- 15:09Dean Neiger: We were looking for a graphic designer.
- 15:11Dean Neiger: You, you think that it'd be simple and easy to find a graphic designer and someone that fits your culture and your team?
- 15:16Dean Neiger: It took us too months.
- 15:18Dean Neiger: Yeah.
- 15:18Dean Neiger: So, or maybe
- 15:20Brianna: Yeah.
- 15:20Dean Neiger: I don't know.
- 15:21Dean Neiger: But
- 15:21Brianna: No.
- 15:22Dean Neiger: it's definitely not easy.
- 15:23Brianna: Yeah.
- 15:24Brianna: I think it's important though.
- 15:25Brianna: It's like your baby, you know, you're like, you know, helping it grow into this big thing, which it looks like it's been pretty successful.
- 15:32Brianna: Honestly, looking from your Instagram, I would not have known that you hadn't had a graphic.
- 15:38Brianna: Designer, I mean,
- 15:40Dean Neiger: want
- 15:40Brianna: you guys look very polished.
- 15:42Dean Neiger: My wife's been doing it.
- 15:44Brianna: Yes.
- 15:44Brianna: Alright.
- 15:45Dean Neiger: someone in
- 15:45Brianna: someone in the background that's like, yeah, well she's
- 15:48Dean Neiger: she's a little bit of an influencer,
- 15:49Brianna: yeah.
- 15:50Dean Neiger: to do it and she has a good eye.
- 15:51Dean Neiger: So I, I didn't really ask her.
- 15:54Dean Neiger: I called her up, I'm like, Hey, hun, you know be a social media manager from now on.
- 15:59Brianna: There's just a few things I need you to kinda do for me.
- 16:03Brianna: No, she's, she's done a great job.
- 16:05Brianna: Okay.
- 16:05Brianna: I love it.
- 16:06Brianna: So you have your community, you guys are obviously growing.
- 16:10Brianna: What, is there some sort of like subscription based thing or how does it work if you're wanting to like,'cause I know you have a starter kit, but how does it work?
- 16:19Brianna: Like monthly?
- 16:20Dean Neiger: which is a phenomenal value.
- 16:22Dean Neiger: One pouch is, is two week servings.
- 16:24Dean Neiger: Two weeks.
- 16:25Dean Neiger: If you take one every day, which is what we advise, it's 15 servings.
- 16:28Dean Neiger: So the starter kit has one month, so it has two pouches.
- 16:31Dean Neiger: You can choose if you want vanilla or chocolate, and we're offering a free energy booster a shaker, but also something really cool.
- 16:39Dean Neiger: Another idea for my wife is a journal.
- 16:42Dean Neiger: So you can track your whole journey.
- 16:45Dean Neiger: You can write down, you know, you can put a picture of you, you know, on there.
- 16:49Dean Neiger: You can write to how you started, how you're feeling.
- 16:52Dean Neiger: It has places for you to put all your data.
- 16:54Dean Neiger: We give advice like, Hey, you should be doing a DEXA scan.
- 16:57Dean Neiger: Every once in a while.
- 16:58Dean Neiger: There's a couple recipes, so.
- 17:01Dean Neiger: Is, it is a pretty holistic place for you to start, you know, tracking your journey.
- 17:06Dean Neiger: One of the things that's kind of unexpected, it's some people just bought our journal and nothing else, so we're like, okay, that's not really what we're promoting, but sure, why not?
- 17:17Dean Neiger: Yeah.
- 17:18Brianna: Sure.
- 17:18Brianna: Like, okay.
- 17:19Brianna: I mean, why not sell it if people just want it?
- 17:21Dean Neiger: order
- 17:21Brianna: Interesting.
- 17:23Brianna: Yeah.
- 17:23Brianna: I,
- 17:23Dean Neiger: you, yeah.
- 17:24Dean Neiger: It's, it's a great value.
- 17:25Dean Neiger: You,
- 17:26Brianna: okay.
- 17:26Dean Neiger: pay like really full price for it, which is 200 bucks, which I don't advise you do, because if you subscribe it's only 117.
- 17:32Dean Neiger: And then two weeks supply.
- 17:34Dean Neiger: To a month supply is$117 recurring.
- 17:37Dean Neiger: Some, sometimes some people tell us, you know,$117 per month, it's a lot, but when you divide it by 30 meals, it's less than$4 per meal.
- 17:47Dean Neiger: I like to say it's less than a Big Mac, but I guess it's even depends where you are.
- 17:51Dean Neiger: But
- 17:52Brianna: I don't think there's a$4 Big Mac anywhere anymore.
- 17:55Brianna: I don't know.
- 17:56Dean Neiger: more nutritious than a Big Mac, that's for sure.
- 17:59Dean Neiger: I.
- 17:59Brianna: Yeah, no, I love that.
- 18:01Brianna: I'm glad you, me, you mentioned DEXA scan.
- 18:04Brianna: I'm, I'm really, I think you guys have a very, like you said, holistic approach and it's thinking like big picture, right?
- 18:11Brianna: This isn't just like, oh, take this product.
- 18:13Brianna: You're on your weight loss journey.
- 18:14Brianna: It's, we're thinking about things that you can add to it, problems that you're gonna have.
- 18:19Brianna: Pain points journal, which I am always encouraging people if they're on a GLP one.
- 18:26Brianna: And they think they're gonna be on it for like a very long time.
- 18:29Brianna: Working with somebody like somebody like me or Bailey.
- 18:31Brianna: And we're always having people like write things down.
- 18:34Brianna: Like, how are you feeling?
- 18:36Brianna: Like,'cause your mood is important.
- 18:38Brianna: What are you doing for your workouts?
- 18:40Brianna: What are you eating?
- 18:40Brianna: 'cause we know people react differently to different types of things.
- 18:44Brianna: We're on the GLP one.
- 18:45Brianna: And so sometimes I need to see like, okay, you're having recurring these sort of issues.
- 18:49Brianna: Like what are you eating?
- 18:50Brianna: Like let's pinpoint what it is.
- 18:52Brianna: So that way.
- 18:53Brianna: You're feeling good and that you can continue to'cause when you feel good, you do good.
- 18:58Brianna: Your whole journey is just better, you know?
- 19:00Dean Neiger: health.
- 19:00Dean Neiger: That that's what,
- 19:01Brianna: Okay.
- 19:01Dean Neiger: that's what we're striving for is, is weight
- 19:03Brianna: Yeah.
- 19:04Dean Neiger: And I, I think that you, you, you, you guys are obviously like.
- 19:08Dean Neiger: This is day in and, and day out, and, and, and you talk to people and it's what you guys are doing is, is so important in this space, being there as you know, to support people.
- 19:18Dean Neiger: And that's, that's really your job, right?
- 19:20Dean Neiger: It's really to support people and as a brand.
- 19:24Brianna: Yeah.
- 19:25Dean Neiger: see brands as, as, as a, you know, as, as a support mechanism.
- 19:29Dean Neiger: But that's what we're trying to do as well.
- 19:32Dean Neiger: There are so many actors out there who, you know, just wanna sell a product and, and move on, and we're really trying to be one of like.
- 19:41Dean Neiger: The good guys in, in the space and not take
- 19:45Brianna: Yeah.
- 19:45Dean Neiger: of, of people feeling a certain way and, and, you know, just just be, you know, just, just do that a, a, a one a hit and run and that's it.
- 19:53Dean Neiger: We really want to be there as, as a support.
- 19:55Dean Neiger: It's, it's less easy as, as a brand, you know, to, to be there as a support and, and take that role and, and because we do want people to participate and to be actively involved.
- 20:04Dean Neiger: And that takes time.
- 20:06Dean Neiger: Right.
- 20:07Dean Neiger: Thing that people have or don't.
- 20:09Brianna: Yeah.
- 20:09Brianna: And in terms of, you know, brands, you do bring up a good point because the reality is people wanna make money, right?
- 20:17Brianna: Everybody wants to make money, and a lot of brands just see like, oh, this is trending right now.
- 20:23Brianna: Let's just market like this is for GLP wants support, let's do it so that we can get, we can touch on a pain point that people are having and make some money.
- 20:32Brianna: Not that there's any shame to that, right?
- 20:33Brianna: There's.
- 20:34Brianna: That's how our world works.
- 20:36Brianna: But it's, I'm always encouraging people, if you're gonna put your time and your money into a brand, making sure that they're transparent with you.
- 20:43Brianna: They have integrity.
- 20:44Brianna: They're really trying to do well with their brand because not all brands are created equal and they don't always have, you know, your best interests.
- 20:53Brianna: That's just the way it is.
- 20:54Brianna: You know, that's, you're like, I know this is
- 20:56Dean Neiger: agree.
- 20:57Brianna: my industry.
- 20:57Dean Neiger: previous brands that, that, that, that, that we had, we, we managed it the same way we were B Corp certified organic, and really, you know, tried to do things really the right way.
- 21:06Dean Neiger: And and, and, and I think it's.
- 21:09Dean Neiger: It pays off as well,
- 21:10Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 21:15Dean Neiger: best financially.
- 21:16Dean Neiger: So obviously we're doing it because we started off doing
- 21:19Brianna: Yeah.
- 21:20Dean Neiger: it's right.
- 21:20Dean Neiger: But then the fruits of the labor, you know, tend to be, tend to be more, more generous over the long term.
- 21:27Brianna: And what people don't, I don't think, not everybody knows, is when you're trying to be B Corp certified and organic and all that, that's expensive.
- 21:34Brianna: To get those like certifications and those things, it's a lot, which is why a lot of people don't do it.
- 21:39Dean Neiger: Corp certified is extremely difficult.
- 21:41Dean Neiger: Sourcing organic ingredients is and is extremely difficult.
- 21:44Dean Neiger: In, again, in my previous brand, we had a full-time person sourcing organic products.
- 21:48Dean Neiger: I took almost two years full-time doing the B Corp certification myself with, with, with the help of someone on my team because it's.
- 21:56Dean Neiger: doing the right thing is, is not easy.
- 21:58Dean Neiger: You know, setting up the community and, and you know, if you go on there and you'll see what was involved in the chat rooms and all that stuff, it, it took someone full-time, three months to set that up.
- 22:09Dean Neiger: So, so there is, you know, when you're a, when, when you're a customer, you know, or a consumer, you, you go on a website and you see things and you tend to, to take a lot of it for granted, but there's a lot of work involved in it and you enjoy it.
- 22:22Brianna: Yeah, you're, there's a lot of work.
- 22:23Brianna: I do have a question about the monthly subscription.
- 22:26Brianna: Does that come with some of the boosters or is it just the shake?
- 22:30Dean Neiger: the shake.
- 22:31Dean Neiger: So it's it's, it's one month subscription.
- 22:33Dean Neiger: You get two pouches, not the first time, the first time you get your starter kit, right?
- 22:37Dean Neiger: But then you can always subscribe to the Boosters.
- 22:40Dean Neiger: What what we see is
- 22:41Brianna: Okay.
- 22:42Dean Neiger: see a lot of people subscribe to the beauty booster.
- 22:44Dean Neiger: Which has collagen, ceramides biotin maybe hyaluronic acid, I don't remember, and vitamin C.
- 22:52Dean Neiger: So you know everything you need for beauty
- 22:55Brianna: Okay.
- 22:55Dean Neiger: out, and that's something you really want to take on a daily basis rather than just.
- 22:59Dean Neiger: Days that you don't feel yourself.
- 23:01Dean Neiger: Right.
- 23:02Dean Neiger: The digestive booster we see a little
- 23:04Brianna: Yeah.
- 23:05Dean Neiger: because people take it according to how they, according to how they feel, right.
- 23:09Dean Neiger: But we, we are coming out that's very exciting with a muscle booster that helps.
- 23:14Dean Neiger: There's going to be, a clinical ingredient, which we have a lot of clinical backed ingredients in our products, but this one specifically has a clinically backed ingredient that helps synthesize amino acids.
- 23:27Dean Neiger: So whatever amino acids and proteins that you take, it's gonna help you, you know, really maximize your intake.
- 23:35Dean Neiger: So again, and it's gonna have creatine and
- 23:39Brianna: Okay.
- 23:39Dean Neiger: the good stuff.
- 23:40Brianna: Okay, I like it.
- 23:42Brianna: So then you can kind of use this as needed, you know, like if you're taking it like after a workout, if you're taking it as like a meal replacement.
- 23:49Brianna: If you're okay, I'm excited.
- 23:52Brianna: I'm gonna be on the lookout for that muscle booster one.
- 23:55Brianna: That's
- 23:56Dean Neiger: days out.
- 23:56Dean Neiger: But yeah, we've been working on it.
- 23:59Brianna: okay.
- 23:59Dean Neiger: working on it at the same time as everything else, so it took us like 18 months from idea to, know.
- 24:07Dean Neiger: To have it out.
- 24:08Brianna: Dang.
- 24:09Brianna: I feel like that's fast.
- 24:10Brianna: I don't know.
- 24:11Brianna: I don't know anything about.
- 24:12Dean Neiger: you compare it to the CPG world, you know, if, if tomorrow morning Danon or whatever, you know, CPG largely, or Nestle or Unilever wants to come out to the product, it could take them.
- 24:23Dean Neiger: Like a year would be super fast, but most likely two to three years for smaller brands.
- 24:30Dean Neiger: In the nutrition space, it's probably like nine months.
- 24:34Dean Neiger: You are pretty fast.
- 24:35Dean Neiger: So we obviously have less red tape decisions are centralized.
- 24:40Dean Neiger: We don't have like a million people involved in the process, so that helps.
- 24:44Dean Neiger: And then we're, we're, we're very insistent with the people we work with, so.
- 24:50Dean Neiger: Because it's your baby, right?
- 24:51Dean Neiger: You're not looking created.
- 24:53Dean Neiger: You're like, Hey, I need this sample in the next 48 hours.
- 24:57Dean Neiger: And you send them six emails.
- 24:59Dean Neiger: And that's sort of like how we do things.
- 25:02Dean Neiger: We're we're, you know, we're very pushy.
- 25:04Brianna: Yeah.
- 25:04Brianna: Like, don't forget about us,
- 25:06Dean Neiger: you know, when you're still
- 25:07Brianna: you know?
- 25:07Brianna: Yeah.
- 25:08Dean Neiger: you, that's the way I do it.
- 25:10Dean Neiger: You want to be enough of a thorn that people just get it done for you until you're big enough that they do it because you're profitable.
- 25:16Brianna: They do it because yeah, they're like, oh, get this done.
- 25:19Brianna: I like it.
- 25:20Brianna: Okay.
- 25:21Brianna: This is.
- 25:22Brianna: I'm really excited.
- 25:24Brianna: I mean, I knew we were gonna be talking about your product.
- 25:26Brianna: I knew it was like GLP one supportive, but I'm very surprised to find a brand that's like really caring about the psychology behind it, the overall health, the community.
- 25:36Brianna: I'm excited.
- 25:37Brianna: Where can people find you?
- 25:39Dean Neiger: Which is Eva
- 25:41Brianna: Okay.
- 25:41Dean Neiger: a.co.
- 25:44Dean Neiger: By the way, Eva means welcome in French, Tahitian.
- 25:47Dean Neiger: I know, I know.
- 25:48Dean Neiger: That's why I saw
- 25:49Brianna: I was just gonna ask.
- 25:50Dean Neiger: It means welcome.
- 25:51Dean Neiger: So it was like it's, you know, you're starting something new.
- 25:53Dean Neiger: It's a new journey.
- 25:55Dean Neiger: so we thought it was a little bit exotic.
- 25:57Dean Neiger: It was a little bit different.
- 25:58Dean Neiger: And, yeah, just on our website, we, where we want to be right now.
- 26:04Dean Neiger: We don't want to be yet on Amazon or in retail.
- 26:07Dean Neiger: We want people to get to know us, to experience this.
- 26:10Dean Neiger: We want to have that contact with the customer.
- 26:12Dean Neiger: We wanna get that feedback, those reviews.
- 26:14Dean Neiger: It's very definitely, you, you
- 26:17Brianna: More hands on.
- 26:18Dean Neiger: when you, when you leave your, your DTC channel.
- 26:21Brianna: I like it.
- 26:22Brianna: Okay.
- 26:22Brianna: Well we will be, I'll put that in the show notes kind of like your, I'll put your Instagram handle and then I'll also put your website in case people are interested in going and checking it out, getting their starter kit.
- 26:33Brianna: Becoming part of that community, but yeah, it's been great chatting with you.
- 26:36Brianna: I'm very excited to try.
- 26:38Brianna: And I, I know like, again, Bailey and I, every single day, multiple people were working with people either on a GLP one or just trying to be weight healthy.
- 26:49Brianna: And so having brands that we.
- 26:52Brianna: I only like to kind of like recommend brands that I really align with and like, and use.
- 26:58Brianna: So I definitely will be trying, I'm your product, but I know that I align for sure with your guys' views on things and I only wanna give my clients the best.
- 27:06Brianna: So thank you for giving me that option.
- 27:08Dean Neiger: of you By the way, we have like sample sizes coming out,
- 27:11Brianna: yeah.
- 27:12Dean Neiger: next week.
- 27:13Dean Neiger: So, you know, for anyone listening who wants to try our products.
- 27:16Dean Neiger: let us know.
- 27:17Dean Neiger: D Amazon on Instagram, it's May VA journey, so M-A-E-V-A journey.
- 27:22Dean Neiger: Send us to dm.
- 27:23Dean Neiger: Can say Dean said it on the podcast.
- 27:25Dean Neiger: And I'll, and I'll be happy to I'll be happy to send you over our sample at no cost, obviously.
- 27:31Brianna: Oh, I appreciate that.
- 27:32Brianna: Yeah, it's funny.
- 27:33Brianna: Hopefully you're the ones answering those emails and your brother's not like, wait, what are you doing?
- 27:37Brianna: What?
- 27:37Dean Neiger: looking at all the dms.
- 27:39Dean Neiger: I
- 27:39Brianna: Okay.
- 27:39Dean Neiger: always answer to all of them, but I, I, I do most of the time, but you gotta be on it.
- 27:44Dean Neiger: I mean, this is a full-time job.
- 27:46Brianna: Yeah, it's a lot.
- 27:47Brianna: The social media just itself is a full-time job.
- 27:50Brianna: I couldn't imagine also needing to like create a product.
- 27:52Brianna: Like I'm just myself.
- 27:53Brianna: I'm already there as, I couldn't imagine doing both, but yeah.
- 27:57Brianna: Yeah, it's been great having you.
- 27:59Brianna: I really appreciate it.
- 28:00Dean Neiger: if you know, if you have any questions, anything, feel free to to reach out.
- 28:03Dean Neiger: I'm, I'm always here to be a resource.
- 28:05Brianna: Thanks.
- 28:05Brianna: All right.
- 28:06Brianna: I'll give everybody your contact info and we'll take it from there.
- 28:10Brianna: Thanks.
