  Constance Lavonice: I started my podcast in 2025, and my husband started the new business after retirement, and I've been helping him and doing a lot of research for both the business and the podcast.

  Constance Lavonice: What I found is there are many voices telling me what to do, how to do it, when to do it, seminars, webinars, professionals, well-meaning friends and family, and even social media influencers.

  Constance Lavonice: After hours and days and months of research, feedback, and advice, I was so overwhelmed that I had to stop and ask myself, what does God say?

  Constance Lavonice: Proverbs 15:22 says, without counsel, plans fail, but with many advisors they succeed.

  Constance Lavonice: It benefits us to seek counsel.

  Constance Lavonice: A wise, mature, experienced, godly person for counsel.

  Constance Lavonice: However, we have to remember that our vision is our vision.

  Constance Lavonice: No one understands your vision more than you, with the exception of God.

  Constance Lavonice: So we seek God for our decisions and our plans and our aspirations.

  Constance Lavonice: First of all, if you're Christian, you have the mind of Christ.

  Constance Lavonice: The words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verse 16 says, For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?

  Constance Lavonice: But we have the mind of Christ.

  Constance Lavonice: We have the ability to think like Christ.

  Constance Lavonice: We have his mind.

  Constance Lavonice: Christ is our spiritual resource.

  Constance Lavonice: The second thing is that we have the wisdom of God.

  Constance Lavonice: James chapter one, verse five says, if any of you likes wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

  Constance Lavonice: Everyone who asks for wisdom, God's word says that he will give us wisdom, and he'll give it to us abundantly.

  Constance Lavonice: Not only do we have the mind of Christ, but we can ask and seek wisdom from God.

  Constance Lavonice: David in Psalms 32, verse 8, reminds us that God will instruct us and teach us in the way we should go.

  Constance Lavonice: He will counsel us with his eyes upon us.

  Constance Lavonice: What does this mean?

  Constance Lavonice: It means that God will give us specific instructions.

  Constance Lavonice: It's like asking for directions, and someone tells you to drive up the street, and when you get to the light, turn right.

  Constance Lavonice: At that light, you're going to see a Walgreens.

  Constance Lavonice: Turn right and keep going straight.

  Constance Lavonice: And as you're driving, you're going to pass a church on your right, you're going to see a school on your left.

  Constance Lavonice: And at the next light, Harbor Avenue, turn left.

  Constance Lavonice: And as you drive, you will see your destination on the right at the next light.

  Constance Lavonice: That's in specific instructions for you to find your destination.

  Constance Lavonice: That's what God does for us.

  Constance Lavonice: He will instruct us step by step.

  Constance Lavonice: He will also teach us.

  Constance Lavonice: The teacher explains things in a way that the student can understand.

  Constance Lavonice: So God will explain the steps in a way that you can understand.

  Constance Lavonice: Clearly, you'll hear his voice teaching you on what you should do and the way you should go.

  Constance Lavonice: And he will counsel you with his eye upon you.

  Constance Lavonice: God sees you and he knows you and he knows your needs.

  Constance Lavonice: So he will be your counsel.

  Constance Lavonice: He will counsel us.

  Constance Lavonice: And he's the great counselor.

  Constance Lavonice: And he'll confirm it in your spirit.

  Constance Lavonice: And sometimes, often, when I'm seeking God for something, especially when I'm reading the Bible and I have a scripture that I'm focusing on, and I'm having a conversation with someone, usually someone who also reads the word, and they will mention the same scripture that I'm studying.

  Constance Lavonice: And I know that that's God confirming that scripture in my heart.

  Constance Lavonice: That's a confirmation.

  Constance Lavonice: I've heard it twice.

  Constance Lavonice: So God will confirm and counsel you on which direction to take.

  Constance Lavonice: So I want to encourage you, when you're embarking on a new path or implementing a new plan, it's good to seek mature, wise, godly counsel after you've consulted with the Lord.

  Constance Lavonice: Many times he's placed the vision in your heart to begin with.

  Constance Lavonice: And God is the one who knows all about your vision and how to attain it.

  Constance Lavonice: Not only has he given you the mind of Christ, you can think like Christ, but he also gives you wisdom if you ask.

  Constance Lavonice: And not just a little bit of wisdom, but wisdom abundantly.

  Constance Lavonice: God also will instruct, teach you, and counsel you.

  Constance Lavonice: So if you're trying to figure out the next steps and you're processing a lot of information, you have a lot of voices speaking to you, stop and ask yourself, God, what do you say?
