Star Wars (1977) | Ep. 1 - Part 1
Nearly everyone who worked on it thought it was going to be a disaster. John, Westy, and Matt begin the story of the troubled little space film that changed Hollywood forever.
In Part 1 we cover the film's opening, director George Lucas, the cast, and the second act — including the runaway production in the Tunisian desert, the unknown young cast, and the effects technology Lucas had to invent from scratch.
The Death Star trench is still waiting. Part 2 makes the run: crew, finale, reception, legacy. Out now.
