- 1:12Speaker 1: the new year. Happy holidays again, and see you soon.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh we're live like we're just pausing so that way,
- 1:46Speaker 2: it's a nice and nice visual for everyone to come to.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Happy holidays everyone, and let me weave you a tale.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So excited two or three months ago, Julian I were like,
- 1:59Speaker 1: oh my, we're so on top of it. We're so
- 2:02Speaker 1: great at calendar and we're so good at planning our show.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And we looked up the Holiday on the Internet and
- 2:09Speaker 1: we were like, thank god, it's on Hulu. And then
- 2:12Speaker 1: mother fucking Hulu took it off like literally within days
- 2:19Speaker 1: of us needing to watch it.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Because I watched it November three, because I tried to
- 2:24Speaker 2: watch it in October and they were like, this will
- 2:26Speaker 2: be available to you November three, so I came back, so.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It was available for two weeks.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Like what?
- 2:34Speaker 1: And I need everyone, I need everyone to write Hulu
- 2:39Speaker 1: on Twitter to be like was that with the holiday?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Why can't we watch the Holiday?
- 2:44Speaker 3: This is an instant. This is a classic from two
- 2:47Speaker 3: thousand and five. We need it?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Is it because Jack Black forgot he was in the holiday?
- 2:52Speaker 1: So now none of us get to watch it, Like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I don't think that Jack Black would want that for
- 2:56Speaker 1: any of us.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Do you think it's because Jude Law is sad about
- 2:59Speaker 3: his hand?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Jude Law are you sad about your hairline? I haven't
- 3:03Speaker 1: checked in on that in a while. Should I do
- 3:05Speaker 1: that live on the internet.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You didn't see him in the Marvel Missus Marvel or
- 3:10Speaker 2: Captain Marvel?
- 3:11Speaker 3: What is it called, the first one?
- 3:14Speaker 1: In the first one?
- 3:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but because in the first one with what's her face?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, let's just google Jude Law currently. Oh, Jude, he's
- 3:28Speaker 1: still his face is still very handsome. You're very handsome, Jude.
- 3:31Speaker 1: But that is rough, and it's only rough because of
- 3:33Speaker 1: this part. It's only rough because of the cemetery. But
- 3:39Speaker 1: that's fine. So Jude, if you're sad about that, I
- 3:43Speaker 1: wish you a happy holiday.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I'll swap it. I'll swap homes with your with your sister.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and we'll snuggle up by the cozy fire. Okay.
- 3:55Speaker 1: When I was looking up images for the Hating Game, yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I realized that it was a book to screen adaptation.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, look at you.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I haven't read it yet. I bought it.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I bought it obviously not that long ago, because it
- 4:09Speaker 2: has kept soon becoming soon to be a major motion picture.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So I clearly bought it after they sold it to
- 4:14Speaker 2: make it screen adaptation.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So okay. I think one of my notes is, oh God,
- 4:24Speaker 1: we're going to have a lot of the same fights
- 4:25Speaker 1: that we had for Love actually what And they're all
- 4:30Speaker 1: going to be the same fights that we had when
- 4:34Speaker 1: Walking Dead, when young Man Walking Dead told Kiera Knightley like,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I've been mean to you the entire time because I
- 4:40Speaker 1: love you everything, and I know and everyone like we
- 4:44Speaker 1: picked this movie because I had never seen it, and
- 4:46Speaker 1: Julia was like, I watch it all the time, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: I was like, okay, great, I love Lucy Hale, and
- 4:50Speaker 1: then everything that man did made my body light on fire.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I was just like anxious and stressed and like Leen
- 5:00Speaker 1: Lucy Hale like no, this isn't okay, Like it's not okay.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So I was really hoping that you would have read
- 5:07Speaker 1: the book because I thought it was a lot like Red,
- 5:10Speaker 1: White and Royal Blue, where there was so much context
- 5:13Speaker 1: that they were assuming that we knew sure, because like
- 5:17Speaker 1: number one, this movie has so much whiplash in it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Well, and here's the thing I think that I think
- 5:24Speaker 2: there's a lot missing obviously, because there are scenes where
- 5:28Speaker 2: I'm just like, wait, how did we get from there
- 5:31Speaker 2: to there?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Like obviously we're supposed to just assume.
- 5:33Speaker 2: But there's clearly going to be something in the book
- 5:36Speaker 2: that helped bridge that moment, Like we don't get clarification
- 5:40Speaker 2: on why that. She like the short the strawberry thing
- 5:44Speaker 2: is just so so so.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Light in the movie, and I'm like, that's got to
- 5:47Speaker 3: be a big thing in the book.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Probably you gotta be a big thing. Also, she writes
- 5:51Speaker 1: Smurf fan fiction, and I was like, you have to
- 5:53Speaker 1: be fucking kidding me.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And they didn't even give us a lot of that either.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It's like, why throw that in there if that's not
- 6:00Speaker 2: a reoccurring like a recurring joke throughout the entire film.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I need everyone. I need everyone to write in the
- 6:06Speaker 1: comments whether or not there's four real Smurf fan fiction.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I need everyone to link us Smurf at number one.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That's also a toxic environment because Smurf at she is
- 6:17Speaker 1: the only Smurf, so you know, she's getting sexually harassed
- 6:21Speaker 1: all day long. She is getting sexually harassed every cartoon.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yes, I did think it was cute though, when Lucy
- 6:27Speaker 2: Hale's character who's also named Lucy Lucy Hutton leaves the
- 6:32Speaker 2: grumpy Smurf on his desk because.
- 6:34Speaker 1: He's grumpy and he's dangerous. I need everyone. I need everyone.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I think he's dangerous.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I will okay, She just looks at the carrat.
- 6:48Speaker 3: This is Natalie and her delusional friend Jules.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I need everyone to know that I used to think
- 6:55Speaker 1: that Enemies to Lovers was really hot. I used to
- 6:58Speaker 1: think I love it, Natalie. I know. I almost just
- 7:01Speaker 1: asked you it in question for him, and I was like,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I already know the answer to this, and Julia loves
- 7:06Speaker 1: it and that's why she makes me watch the hating
- 7:08Speaker 1: game and love. Actually, it's like it's true. I too,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I too used to think that love Enemies to Lovers
- 7:17Speaker 1: was really fucking hot until it happened to me. Oh,
- 7:21Speaker 1: until it happened to me, and then I realized. I
- 7:24Speaker 1: was like, no, this is the most dangerous trope. This
- 7:28Speaker 1: is the most dangerous trope because it's such a whiplash,
- 7:32Speaker 1: like what happens in the movie. This movie spans maybe
- 7:35Speaker 1: three weeks.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Three or four weeks, yeah, because we get right before
- 7:38Speaker 2: Thanksgiving to write before Christmas.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yes, And.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So my whiplash of an enemy's to lovers thing happened
- 7:52Speaker 1: over the span of like a Halloween to a summer.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 2: So that's like six yeah, yeah, which I do wish
- 8:02Speaker 2: things would be a little bit longer.
- 8:04Speaker 3: That's what.
- 8:04Speaker 2: That's why When Harry met Sally is the greatest movie
- 8:06Speaker 2: of all time because they fall in love in twelve
- 8:08Speaker 2: years versus twelve days.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Remember a couple of weeks ago when I liked When
- 8:12Speaker 1: Harry Met Sally against all.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Odds, against all odds, I'm so proud, I'm so happy, And.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Normally the movies, Julia swung for the Fences and was like,
- 8:23Speaker 1: we should watch the Haiti game. It's so cute and
- 8:25Speaker 1: I love it and I'm like I'm game, and like
- 8:27Speaker 1: literally the man stressed me out, like I I honestly,
- 8:31Speaker 1: I was like, it'll ruin it for Juliet if I
- 8:34Speaker 1: just start filming my reactions.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Well, you know, if we were originally allowed to do
- 8:41Speaker 2: the Holiday Hulu, we would be having a very different conversation.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I am very proud of us for pulling a movie
- 8:48Speaker 2: literally last minute, because here's the.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Thing I didn't want to watch. I don't want to
- 8:54Speaker 1: watch a Christmas story and I don't want to watch
- 8:57Speaker 1: National Nomo Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Then my suggestions like I.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Know that I'm alridy and I have to do that.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And then I was like, well, do I want to
- 9:06Speaker 1: watch The Grinch? He's kind of trendy right now, like
- 9:10Speaker 1: he's somehow the the Grinch has become a sexual icon
- 9:14Speaker 1: and I'd like to know when, why and how.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I think eighteen maybe there was that other than cartoon anyway,
- 9:23Speaker 2: go ahead, Yeah, And I was like.
- 9:24Speaker 1: We're all, we're all aware that that's Jim Carrey right
- 9:27Speaker 1: like under the Grinch, Like we yeah, we've decided that
- 9:31Speaker 1: Jim Carrey is the person who's sexualized the Grinch. Yeah,
- 9:35Speaker 1: all to be aware.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, wait, should we explain what the hating game is about?
- 9:40Speaker 1: For hour? And you should do it because you'll do
- 9:43Speaker 1: it in a very unbiased.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Okay, here's the Wikipedia description of the film.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I'll just lived Penelope from the floor and Clutcher and
- 9:56Speaker 1: just Clutcher.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Resolving to achieve professionals excess without compromising her ethics, Lucy
- 10:03Speaker 2: embarks on a ruthless game of one upmanship against cold
- 10:07Speaker 2: and efficient nemesis Joshua, a rivalry that has complicated by
- 10:11Speaker 2: her growing attraction to him. Here's the thing, though, too,
- 10:15Speaker 2: that I think is missing. I think the book might
- 10:18Speaker 2: actually be steamier than the film, Like I think that's
- 10:21Speaker 2: the point.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I think the book is supposed to be like steamy, steamy, steamy.
- 10:26Speaker 1: One of the one of the I do think that
- 10:29Speaker 1: this movie is badly written and badly adapted because it's tropy.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Like it's got every trope, there's only one bed.
- 10:41Speaker 3: He calls her a.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Nickname that's rooted in something adorable, but he's mean about it.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Like it.
- 10:50Speaker 3: And also they're competing for the same job. Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Also, like the first sentence that you read in the
- 10:57Speaker 1: description was that she's one up him. They are in
- 11:01Speaker 1: a competition, and I was like, oh, it's gonna be petty.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I'm in I have when petty people fall in love.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah. And then like literally.
- 11:09Speaker 1: There's no one upping. They stare at each other from
- 11:12Speaker 1: across an office and I was like, that should be illegal.
- 11:14Speaker 1: It should be illegal that if you have to share
- 11:17Speaker 1: an office with someone, you also have to face your
- 11:20Speaker 1: desks at someone at each other. I was like, it
- 11:23Speaker 1: should be a corner sit or you face opposite walls.
- 11:31Speaker 1: This should be illegal.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I love it well, and that also makes me kind
- 11:35Speaker 2: of wonder too. So like the actor who plays Joshua.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I find him to be very attractive. I also found
- 11:44Speaker 2: him to not be very good in this movie because.
- 11:47Speaker 1: In other movies, I don't know.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I've never seen him. I've never seen him in anything else.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I only know him from this film. Okay, And I
- 11:55Speaker 2: really struggle because if it sounds like you're reading a script, I.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Can't at hang.
- 12:01Speaker 2: But then they do the thing that suckers like me love,
- 12:04Speaker 2: which is okay, so he's been reading his lines like
- 12:08Speaker 2: he's reading for ten minutes. Now let's put him in
- 12:11Speaker 2: something very very tight so it's a distraction. Or now
- 12:15Speaker 2: his shirt, or let him take off his shirt, or
- 12:18Speaker 2: have him like manhandle Lucy's butt so that way it's like,
- 12:22Speaker 2: here's a sexy, steamy moment, like this is.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Why we hired him. Don't forget. This is why we
- 12:29Speaker 1: hired him. We hire him because we thought he was
- 12:32Speaker 1: the next great actor. No, he hired him because look
- 12:35Speaker 1: at this body.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Because look at how big that hand is. It's gonna
- 12:39Speaker 2: be able to take a whole lot of you in it.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And let me tell you, like the movie really did
- 12:45Speaker 1: lean heavily on these are two very attractive people who
- 12:48Speaker 1: want a bone and I'm like, I'm in, but you
- 12:51Speaker 1: have to start delivering on the story that you're.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Trying to do because the enough of this steamy like
- 12:59Speaker 2: when and again, I haven't read the book yet, so
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm going to make it a priority to read it
- 13:03Speaker 2: because I think like with books like Everything by Emily
- 13:06Speaker 2: Henry that she's ever written, a Helen hank who Else
- 13:11Speaker 2: is another one that says a really good job where
- 13:13Speaker 2: it's like you get these really like sexually tense moments
- 13:18Speaker 2: where you're like, no one has sex and on and
- 13:22Speaker 2: you're just like, I just need to fit, I need
- 13:24Speaker 2: I need to cool down a little bit.
- 13:25Speaker 3: But nothing, literally, no penetration has happened.
- 13:28Speaker 2: It's just the teazing and the leading up to and
- 13:30Speaker 2: we didn't get a lot of that in the movie.
- 13:32Speaker 3: There's like a handful of things.
- 13:34Speaker 1: She wore a skirt and they ended up in an
- 13:37Speaker 1: elevator alone together and he's like, ah, my brain has
- 13:40Speaker 1: been in love with you the entire time, and I'm like,
- 13:43Speaker 1: what is happening?
- 13:44Speaker 2: Well, And that's the thing when they're in the elevator,
- 13:46Speaker 2: which that was pretty steamy, but it could have been
- 13:49Speaker 2: steamy or I feel like, but then when they're in
- 13:51Speaker 2: the car and he's like, so, should I just take
- 13:53Speaker 2: you home? And she's like, no, I have a date.
- 13:55Speaker 2: So it's like, how did we get to the point
- 13:58Speaker 2: where he now because like they made out, but they're
- 14:03Speaker 2: just like we still hate each other, so like, help
- 14:05Speaker 2: me understand how he's now like, oh, so we're we're
- 14:09Speaker 2: going home now and not.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Like me because you watch this movie over and over
- 14:14Speaker 1: and over again, and I'm like, I.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Don't watch it for its story.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Now I'm gonna have to tell Julia once again that
- 14:22Speaker 1: men like this are dangerous.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I watch it for the making out. I watch it
- 14:30Speaker 3: for the Your eyes are so pretty.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And let me tell you that just step up from Hallmark. Truly,
- 14:39Speaker 1: it truly is. And I also think that that's why
- 14:42Speaker 1: the holiday and a majority of what I'm convinced are
- 14:45Speaker 1: like holiday rom coms aren't streaming on streamers And it's
- 14:49Speaker 1: because Netflix, Hulu Prime they all make their own now.
- 14:53Speaker 1: And by the way, I have a list of like
- 14:55Speaker 1: cute ones that we will do on the show. Yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I love that New Year's Eve one with us uh
- 15:01Speaker 1: Julia Roberts little niece Roberts.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah is cute.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a movie New Year's Eve. It's a made
- 15:10Speaker 1: for Prime movie that's like centered around New Year's Eve.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I think, oh, not the one that she's in where
- 15:18Speaker 3: there's a wedding.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yes, that one is that New Year's Eve. No, no,
- 15:23Speaker 1: but that's the one I'm talking about. Okay, I loved it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I also loved something from Tiffany's.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Oh that one is oh so cute.
- 15:34Speaker 2: And I love that guy because he is an insecure
- 15:37Speaker 2: and I just love him.
- 15:38Speaker 1: It was so fucking adorable. But y movie, he's also mixed.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Let's go back to My to My Dangerous to Your
- 15:46Speaker 1: Anatomy Lovers.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Tatali is never gonna let me pick a movie again.
- 15:57Speaker 1: It's not your fault, even conditioned, conditioned, I have been here,
- 16:02Speaker 1: so my enemy to Lovers did a lot of the
- 16:05Speaker 1: same stuff. Like I've been watching you the entire time.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Your eyes are so pretty. I've always thought that you
- 16:12Speaker 1: were the smartest woman in the room. And I fell
- 16:15Speaker 1: for it. But then when Lucy Hale was like, oh,
- 16:19Speaker 1: it's still all just part of the game, I was like, yes, yes,
- 16:25Speaker 1: it's still just all part of their sick, little fucking game.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Run away, be nice to that man in the coffee shop.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Run away, and then at the end of the movie,
- 16:34Speaker 1: the end of the movie literally heavens. In thirty seconds,
- 16:37Speaker 1: she walks by an office and a bunch of people
- 16:40Speaker 1: are standing in there, and he's like, I quit my
- 16:42Speaker 1: job so you could have this job.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Took my name out of the running, but nobody told
- 16:50Speaker 2: you because we needed you to keep that fire under
- 16:52Speaker 2: your belly so.
- 16:53Speaker 3: You can work hard.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I hate everyone. I was like, this is not women
- 16:56Speaker 1: supporting women. I don't know what her boss thought she
- 16:59Speaker 1: was doing.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I actually really did hate that because she's like, you're
- 17:02Speaker 2: just so fired up when you're competing with Josh.
- 17:05Speaker 3: But he quit, so now what?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Also, the HR lady begs them to stop. Our lady
- 17:12Speaker 1: was like, all and I could talk about is how
- 17:14Speaker 1: you guys make this workplace environment hostile.
- 17:17Speaker 3: That's all you do. Literally every complaint is about the
- 17:20Speaker 3: two of you.
- 17:22Speaker 1: So what insane? Like so many things, so many things
- 17:26Speaker 1: were like the wedding. When he takes her to the wedding,
- 17:31Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, this is cute. This is trophy.
- 17:34Speaker 1: She tells off his dad. I'm like, okay, I can
- 17:36Speaker 1: feel this, I can dig this. I still think that
- 17:38Speaker 1: they're having sex too soon, and I still don't understand
- 17:42Speaker 1: what payoff we're getting.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Well, And to add to the sex too soon part,
- 17:46Speaker 2: like she even like shows up at his house.
- 17:49Speaker 3: And she's like, let's just do it and get it
- 17:50Speaker 3: over with and he's.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Like, that's not really the vibe I'm into because I'm
- 17:54Speaker 2: in love with you. But he doesn't say that part
- 17:55Speaker 2: out loud, and then you're just like, there's it's a
- 18:00Speaker 2: two hour movie and they spend the bulk of the
- 18:03Speaker 2: time dragging us along to wrap it up in literally
- 18:07Speaker 2: three minutes.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Uh huh. So then I can't remember what comes first.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I can't remember what comes first. But at some point
- 18:16Speaker 1: she snoops on his desk and she sees like serial
- 18:21Speaker 1: killer writing Yeah, he's like hashtags, circle, check mark, check mark,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and she's like, what are these cereals?
- 18:34Speaker 3: Why are you tic tac toeing in your book with letters?
- 18:37Speaker 1: I'm sorry, are you the zodio killer? What's going out
- 18:40Speaker 1: at your day planner? And then he literally says something
- 18:44Speaker 1: and I wrote, he's a serial killer. You have away
- 18:48Speaker 1: because he says, I track what you're wearing, and I
- 18:51Speaker 1: make an ex every time it gets you. So I
- 18:55Speaker 1: track every time you wear a tidy little skirt, and
- 18:59Speaker 1: I try every time you wear tape tape pants, and
- 19:02Speaker 1: then I track every time I have a boter. And
- 19:05Speaker 1: then I said that I want to kiss you in
- 19:08Speaker 1: my little calendar at work, and I was like, it's
- 19:11Speaker 1: gonna kill you. You have to run.
- 19:17Speaker 3: It's like, this is insane.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I literally said it out loud. It's like, Lucy Hale,
- 19:30Speaker 1: this is just like when they made you date your
- 19:32Speaker 1: teacher for ten seasons of pretty well, this man is
- 19:37Speaker 1: in safe.
- 19:40Speaker 3: He's so cute though. Yeah, so I my toxic train
- 19:44Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So we have the like the Zodiac killer moment. And
- 19:48Speaker 1: I was like, then she goes to his place and
- 19:52Speaker 1: she's wearing that dress for the wedding, and I thought, yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: we like talk herself up in the mirror or something
- 19:59Speaker 1: like I'm strung, I'm independent.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and really it's like I took the eye color
- 20:04Speaker 2: of your eyes and made my walls the same color.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And then he's like, look, you'd lend right into the walls.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Because no one ever.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Because I've tracking all of your outfits, I noticed that
- 20:18Speaker 1: your eyes were green, So I painted my walls the
- 20:23Speaker 1: exact fucking shade of green. Because I've been in love
- 20:25Speaker 1: with you the whole time, and I'm like, he is
- 20:27Speaker 1: not safe. You're not making it out there. I was
- 20:30Speaker 1: like to Julia, give me everything I could ever want.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And we're actually watching a Christmas horror boovie because I
- 20:37Speaker 1: love them.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Why would I do that?
- 20:39Speaker 2: You know, I can't sit through a scary movie.
- 20:42Speaker 1: My notes are on hit because I'm like, he is
- 20:44Speaker 1: not safe. He is, in fact the Zodiac Killer. Okay,
- 20:49Speaker 1: let me ask you this. If he was a better actor,
- 20:52Speaker 1: you would probably feel the same way. They had a
- 20:56Speaker 1: Walking Dead Do It in love? Actually, And I kept
- 20:59Speaker 1: telling you you. I was like, rick is that safe
- 21:01Speaker 1: as this movie? And we know that Ricky is a
- 21:04Speaker 1: good action actor?
- 21:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And then and then she hears him like talk shit
- 21:14Speaker 1: about women or her with.
- 21:16Speaker 3: The She assumes it's her. She assumes it's her.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Never get clear fire.
- 21:20Speaker 2: We never find out who they're actually talking about.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Because we know her boss isn't wearing a push up bra.
- 21:27Speaker 2: She's in her office like She's like, I'm in workout clothes.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Is it that poor anxious girl who wanted a cupcake
- 21:35Speaker 1: for her birthday?
- 21:36Speaker 3: Is it the is it the woman who never does
- 21:39Speaker 3: her own job?
- 21:41Speaker 2: Is it the goth girl they tried to hire, which
- 21:45Speaker 2: they didn't hire.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Later, Yeah, I can't wait for you to read the
- 21:48Speaker 1: book and tell me, but we don't have.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Such a ragey conversation if the book, the book will
- 21:55Speaker 2: probably be better.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Let's just be honest.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I mean me too, because I was like, gosh, I
- 22:03Speaker 2: really wish i'd made the time. This has been literally
- 22:05Speaker 2: sitting in my TBR for years.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Yeah, what if it's secretly a crime novel and it
- 22:15Speaker 1: just has a cute cover because he's a zodiat killer.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Because Julia literally like all of the warning bills, I
- 22:23Speaker 1: was like, this is a safe I go. Men can't
- 22:26Speaker 1: just bring you to their house. And they're like do
- 22:29Speaker 1: you like that? Well, this is after she's been to his.
- 22:33Speaker 3: House a couple of times. Listen, there's that did you
- 22:36Speaker 3: ever watch Felicity?
- 22:38Speaker 1: No? But okay, but I do know that a lot
- 22:41Speaker 1: of those men on Felicity not safe people.
- 22:44Speaker 3: So there's a scene I think it's season three.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Tyra Banks is on the show for like a couple
- 22:48Speaker 2: of episodes and she is like paired against the Scott
- 22:54Speaker 2: Foley who plays nul Crane, and so he is doing
- 22:59Speaker 2: like text because he's like a nerdy guy, and so
- 23:03Speaker 2: in doing tech support, he meets tier Banks. He discovered
- 23:06Speaker 2: he like watches her put in her username and password
- 23:08Speaker 2: for her school email, and so now he has her
- 23:11Speaker 2: username and password and like logs in and looks at
- 23:14Speaker 2: it to read emails because he's like desperate to date
- 23:17Speaker 2: this woman but knows nothing about her. So then shea
- 23:20Speaker 2: He reads an email she sends to one of her
- 23:22Speaker 2: friends who and it's like, I just want a guy
- 23:25Speaker 2: to say insert something here about like, you know, we
- 23:28Speaker 2: both let's just leave this place and go have sex
- 23:31Speaker 2: or something to that effect.
- 23:32Speaker 3: So they're on a date.
- 23:34Speaker 2: He says to her exactly what she wrote in the
- 23:37Speaker 2: email to her friend because he read it.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Because he read it.
- 23:42Speaker 2: She takes her drink and like throws it in his
- 23:45Speaker 2: face or hits him or something and storms out. Their
- 23:49Speaker 2: next scene, it's not the immediate scene because there's other
- 23:51Speaker 2: storylines happening, but their next scene together is her going, hey, listen,
- 23:56Speaker 2: I'm real sorry about that, because my friend reminded me
- 24:00Speaker 2: that I just told her I really wanted somebody to
- 24:02Speaker 2: say that to me, and you did, so I responded badly,
- 24:07Speaker 2: and I was like, I still don't think that's the
- 24:10Speaker 2: way to handle that, because there is a difference between
- 24:13Speaker 2: fantasizing about like somebody saying something super sexy to you
- 24:18Speaker 2: in public, somebody being like, I loved the color of
- 24:21Speaker 2: your eyes, so I painted my wall so I could
- 24:23Speaker 2: always be reminded of you.
- 24:25Speaker 3: That works in rom coms.
- 24:27Speaker 2: That works in romance novels, but it doesn't work in
- 24:31Speaker 2: real life because, to Natalie's point, it is very creepy
- 24:34Speaker 2: in real life dangerous.
- 24:37Speaker 1: It's dangerous, man number one. I thought you were going
- 24:41Speaker 1: to tell me that Tyra Banks was so smart that
- 24:43Speaker 1: she immediately connected the dots. It was like he hacked
- 24:46Speaker 1: my eail.
- 24:47Speaker 3: She did not.
- 24:49Speaker 1: She did it three because none of those been on Felicity.
- 24:54Speaker 1: We're saved either. We have an entire episode about it.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Until all the.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Men I've well, I feel like Javier was the only one,
- 25:04Speaker 2: you know, I don't even know that one, so maybe,
- 25:07Speaker 2: but he.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Was the gay us friend.
- 25:09Speaker 1: So after the serial killer tracking in his nature, everything
- 25:16Speaker 1: he said after that, I was like, that's love bombing.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I go everything about this feels like love bombing. And
- 25:23Speaker 1: then when she tries to have a conversation with him
- 25:25Speaker 1: about him saying shitty things about a woman, possibly her.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Then he combats her and I was like, this is gaslighting,
- 25:34Speaker 1: this is love bombing. Now he's telling you that he's
- 25:37Speaker 1: been in love with you the entire time. That's why
- 25:40Speaker 1: he gets to be mean to you. You're confused, and
- 25:43Speaker 1: this is how they manipulate and gaslight you. He is
- 25:46Speaker 1: the Zodiac killer, like you have to run away?
- 25:50Speaker 2: Well, and I think too, Like for me, I know
- 25:52Speaker 2: that it's not real right, Like I've done a very
- 25:55Speaker 2: good job at creating the line of this is how
- 25:57Speaker 2: I want my rom coms to be and my romance
- 26:01Speaker 2: novels to be. This is not how I want real
- 26:03Speaker 2: life to be. Even though I joke and I'm like, oh,
- 26:05Speaker 2: I just want to live in a button up rom
- 26:06Speaker 2: com because those things aren't creepy in a rom com,
- 26:09Speaker 2: but you translate them to real life and you're just like,
- 26:12Speaker 2: I should probably.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Lock my front door.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Joules wouldn't let us watch this movie. But when I
- 26:17Speaker 1: was in middle school and or high school, I'm not
- 26:20Speaker 1: going to look up the dates. I read all the
- 26:22Speaker 1: Twilight books.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Okay, I've seen one, it was enough.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I read all the Twilight books. Okay, I read them all.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And why is that because my sister got to make
- 26:34Speaker 1: her entire personality Harry Potter.
- 26:37Speaker 3: So you made your personality Twilight, I said, Twitter.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Twilight Twitter, So I had to make my entire personality
- 26:44Speaker 1: something and The Hunger Games wasn't out yet, so it
- 26:48Speaker 1: was Twilight. And it's because my mother thought that it
- 26:54Speaker 1: would be appropriate for me to learn my sexual journey
- 26:58Speaker 1: through and Rice and you can see how that went.
- 27:01Speaker 3: So wait, Anne, Rice didn't write Twilight.
- 27:04Speaker 1: No she didn't, but I think I read Interview with
- 27:07Speaker 1: the Vampire and Mayfair Witches before I ever got it.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Twilight got it, so it was like it was like
- 27:14Speaker 3: it was like those books could walk, so Twilight could run.
- 27:18Speaker 1: And I think I even like gasled myself into being like, oh,
- 27:21Speaker 1: the glittering in the sunlight thing, that's a really great
- 27:24Speaker 1: work around. Like what didn't you take on vampires because
- 27:30Speaker 1: vampires were my whole personality?
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yes?
- 27:32Speaker 1: Yes, So imagine thirteen twelve year old me reading Twilight
- 27:43Speaker 1: and Edward Colin says, Sabella, it's like you're my own
- 27:48Speaker 1: brand of heroin, and then twelve year orgasms she comes.
- 27:53Speaker 1: She's like, oh my god, I just can't wait for
- 27:55Speaker 1: a man to tell me that I am his brand
- 27:57Speaker 1: of heroin, and then you see it because you didn't
- 28:01Speaker 1: know that heroin was bad. So in my codependent brain,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I was like, yes, no, that's how much you want
- 28:09Speaker 1: men to love you. You want them to be addicted
- 28:12Speaker 1: to you. You want them to not be able to
- 28:13Speaker 1: have enough of you. You want them to always have you,
- 28:16Speaker 1: be an arm's length away from you because they're addicted
- 28:18Speaker 1: to you. So when he said.
- 28:21Speaker 3: That, I can't it just it reaffirmed it.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It reaffirmed it. And then I went to the movie
- 28:26Speaker 1: my freshman year of college, maybe my sophomore year, and
- 28:30Speaker 1: I went with a friend who doesn't speak to me anymore,
- 28:33Speaker 1: and this could be why. And we're watching the fucking
- 28:37Speaker 1: Twilight movie and it's that part where like Bella walks
- 28:40Speaker 1: across the fan and then Rob pat literally vomits in
- 28:45Speaker 1: his mouth, and I think that's why I can't find
- 28:47Speaker 1: him attractive. I think that's why because she walks by
- 28:53Speaker 1: the fan, and I remember the scene in the book
- 28:56Speaker 1: about it being like he was so taken and by
- 29:00Speaker 1: my son, and then it connects to that heroin line
- 29:05Speaker 1: that rock Cap played it in the movie. She walks
- 29:08Speaker 1: by the fan blows through her hair and he goes
- 29:12Speaker 1: and I laughed, and that's not sexy. And I was
- 29:17Speaker 1: the only person in the theater who laughed, and I
- 29:20Speaker 1: kept laughing. So then by the time he got to
- 29:24Speaker 1: the you're my brand of hair, You're like my own
- 29:27Speaker 1: personal brand of heroin, I was like, you have to
- 29:31Speaker 1: be fucking kidding me. And then I never went and
- 29:34Speaker 1: saw any of the rest of them in theaters. But
- 29:36Speaker 1: one night we had the good cable, we had premium cable,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and it was raining. I was like, I'll give the
- 29:43Speaker 1: second movie a shot. What the fuck am I doing? Yeah,
- 29:46Speaker 1: And I got to the park where he cuts her
- 29:48Speaker 1: mother fucking brakes because he's sick of her going to
- 29:53Speaker 1: the reservation where.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Jacob lives really toxic, and I.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Was like, that's not that, guess hell, but you know
- 29:59Speaker 1: twelve your old nadly k She was like, yeah, that's.
- 30:04Speaker 3: In the book. Yes, Oh my god.
- 30:09Speaker 2: That's why, like mouth vomiting to me is like not
- 30:13Speaker 2: sexy at all, Like that is not going to get
- 30:16Speaker 2: me to like you.
- 30:17Speaker 3: You're supposed to find me so much. Am I sense
- 30:19Speaker 3: so hot that your mouth vomiting Like no, Well.
- 30:24Speaker 2: That to me means that to me shows that to me,
- 30:26Speaker 2: says that he's repulsed by her.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yes, that's why I started laughing, Like you got.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Do we actually need to do a close read of
- 30:37Speaker 2: the Twilight series, both of books in the movie that
- 30:40Speaker 2: I just.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Read the beout loud on the internet live, so we
- 30:43Speaker 1: don't get cappy right in bridgement.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Because I'm like, because I've never read the books, but
- 30:49Speaker 2: i heard they're not well, Like I heard that like
- 30:51Speaker 2: the structure and like the syntax and all these things
- 30:54Speaker 2: isn't great.
- 30:56Speaker 3: And I've never and I've watched the one movie one and.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I still am mad about it, but I've managed to
- 31:02Speaker 2: like black out everything about it.
- 31:04Speaker 1: You know how that series closes out, don't you?
- 31:07Speaker 3: Don't they all die?
- 31:08Speaker 1: No? I just assumed Edward and Bella have a baby
- 31:12Speaker 1: named renez Oh.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Right, because I just saw a thing on TikTok about
- 31:18Speaker 2: how like people are like, oh, you know, Suki Waterhouse
- 31:20Speaker 2: and Rob Patt are having a baby. So now that
- 31:23Speaker 2: clip is like resurfacing because they're like, oh, keep it
- 31:26Speaker 2: away from Taylor Lautner. Yeah, so I just have context
- 31:30Speaker 2: as I've never seen the movie.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Oh okay, so let me give you context. I don't
- 31:34Speaker 1: know if you know much about were wolf folklore, but
- 31:38Speaker 1: they do have something like little ducks called imprinting, where
- 31:43Speaker 1: a werewolf will run into another werewolf from another pack
- 31:47Speaker 1: and be like, you are my mate. You are my
- 31:49Speaker 1: mate for life. We are soul connected twin flames, if
- 31:52Speaker 1: you will, sure it happens to Taylor Latner's character, Jacob
- 31:59Speaker 1: the werewolf to the baby. What the baby? And that's
- 32:04Speaker 1: how they justify him being attracted to Bella the entire time,
- 32:07Speaker 1: but not being her soulmate. He was attracted to her
- 32:11Speaker 1: little egg in her uterus, her little unfertilized egg.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Here's the thing, as I embark on the dissection, the forensics,
- 32:22Speaker 2: if you will, of the last thirty ten years of
- 32:25Speaker 2: my life, wondering why I'm still a failure, and when
- 32:29Speaker 2: you tell me things like this, and this woman has
- 32:31Speaker 2: sold millions upon millions of copies of this book, millions,
- 32:36Speaker 2: and I still can't catch a fucking break in any
- 32:38Speaker 2: of the creative endeavors I have taken.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Also, so then they go, wait a minute, Jacob, what
- 32:44Speaker 1: you're attracted to a baby? That's not great, that's not good.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You can't you never want to be out with your
- 32:51Speaker 1: bros And hear him go, you see that toddler over there. No,
- 32:56Speaker 1: it's bad.
- 32:59Speaker 3: I don't even want to be out with my bros.
- 33:01Speaker 2: And hear them say, see that twenty four year old
- 33:03Speaker 2: because everybody in my life is over thirty five and
- 33:06Speaker 2: in their forties. Okay, Like, no, I don't see that
- 33:11Speaker 2: twenty four year old.
- 33:12Speaker 3: What I see is you're too old for her.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I and I need Taylor Lautner to know that I
- 33:18Speaker 1: love him and this was a crime that was done
- 33:20Speaker 1: to him. He's such a little.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Cutie, Patuti. I love watching him on night late night TV.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I love watching him. I look. I cried when he
- 33:27Speaker 1: showed up at the airstour. I cried when he did
- 33:29Speaker 1: his like front tuck or like yeah yeah, showing up.
- 33:33Speaker 2: At the air store was such a boss move with
- 33:35Speaker 2: such a classic mood like that. He like such a
- 33:38Speaker 2: that's a stand up guy.
- 33:39Speaker 1: He's not my ex, but I picture him every time
- 33:42Speaker 1: I seem Back to December, yeah I and back to
- 33:48Speaker 1: December is my favorite speak now track. Yeah. It goes
- 33:53Speaker 1: hard so to try and justify it because they're like Jacob,
- 33:58Speaker 1: that's not great. You shouldn't be that's an infant.
- 34:02Speaker 4: It's a literal literal, baby stop it so creepy, Like
- 34:07Speaker 4: he gets like all Taylor Locker puffed up, and he's like,
- 34:12Speaker 4: like that it's don't like that when they're little.
- 34:15Speaker 1: He's like, because grown ups grown up. Some print on
- 34:18Speaker 1: children all the time, and what ends up happening is
- 34:21Speaker 1: is like you're their really good cousin brother, and then
- 34:24Speaker 1: you get to fuck them when you're older. And I'm like,
- 34:26Speaker 1: it's so bad because now we know about Crowby.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I'm so maybe I don't want to do it.
- 34:34Speaker 1: In doubt. It was written down in print. Everybody we know,
- 34:39Speaker 1: I don't type it out. You had to type it
- 34:41Speaker 1: out and then read it out loud and then send
- 34:43Speaker 1: it to an editor, and then an editor went bet
- 34:46Speaker 1: and printed book and it's sold millions. And these types
- 34:52Speaker 1: of men are dangerous.
- 34:54Speaker 2: I just feel like, also, it's very telling about where
- 34:58Speaker 2: we were in the world at the time of its release.
- 35:02Speaker 1: So so these men are dangerous and I and here's
- 35:09Speaker 1: the thing.
- 35:10Speaker 2: They varying degrees because I feel like there is a
- 35:12Speaker 2: little bit less danger with a painted the wall the
- 35:16Speaker 2: color of your eyes versus I'm attracted to the egg
- 35:19Speaker 2: in your fucking uterus.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And yep, my body has the same fear response, and
- 35:24Speaker 1: that's by right as an American.
- 35:26Speaker 2: It is absolutely, absolutely it is. You were one hundred
- 35:29Speaker 2: percent correct.
- 35:31Speaker 1: So and I do think that they could They could
- 35:34Speaker 1: have made me sold on this if they had removed
- 35:37Speaker 1: the Zodiac killer parts, if they didn't have him like
- 35:40Speaker 1: tracking her, if they didn't have him. She was wearing
- 35:44Speaker 1: a very tennis skirt with no and I had three
- 35:49Speaker 1: voters and I wanted to kiss her. Five types. I
- 35:53Speaker 1: hate it? What are you doing with that data? Run away?
- 36:00Speaker 2: He's gonna make our presentation at the end of the year.
- 36:04Speaker 2: He's got power point. He unlocked the layers of power
- 36:08Speaker 2: point that no one else understands. It's so he canna
- 36:11Speaker 2: do it, so he can do a whole presentation on
- 36:16Speaker 2: why he and Lucy need to date.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Oh, Mario, Hello him, Mario.
- 36:20Speaker 1: It's just him in New York and Company or J. C.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Penny's like work slat, but he's clearly hard and it's
- 36:28Speaker 1: like that's the water bark on all the slides.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Though, because she's like, she's like cornflower blue, true blue,
- 36:41Speaker 2: white gray window pane. That's not the order she says
- 36:44Speaker 2: it in, but she does it too well.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Yeah, because he only wears like differing shades of charcoal.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I mean so if and then she's like and then
- 36:57Speaker 2: when she's delirious with the fever, she's like gray window pane,
- 37:03Speaker 2: true white, cornflower, true blue.
- 37:06Speaker 1: And he's like pH eh I. And honestly, it's all
- 37:12Speaker 1: because of how that office is set up. And I
- 37:14Speaker 1: would like to go back to my original statement where
- 37:17Speaker 1: if you have to share an office with someone, it
- 37:19Speaker 1: should be illegal for them to set up your desks
- 37:23Speaker 1: to where you're just staring at one another.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want my back to any point entry
- 37:28Speaker 2: points though, you know what I mean.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Then, Julie, you have to fight for the death for
- 37:33Speaker 1: that positioning or whatever. But to like that was zodiac
- 37:37Speaker 1: killer behavior, to have to sit every day at work
- 37:40Speaker 1: and stare across and make eye contact with someone else
- 37:44Speaker 1: who is just trying to find their own business. Right,
- 37:47Speaker 1: Oh it's Crompe this day. I should have made you
- 37:51Speaker 1: watch my favorite Christmas Deity.
- 37:56Speaker 3: I would have died probably.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I mean they could have, so they could have won
- 38:03Speaker 1: me back if they had taken out like the serial
- 38:05Speaker 1: killer moments where he tracked her outfits and painted his
- 38:10Speaker 1: home the exact shade of her eyes his bedroom.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like that decinction makes a big difference.
- 38:17Speaker 1: He's just whacking it off to her eye.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I need her, I need her as close to me
- 38:21Speaker 2: as possible. So it's going to be my bedroom, can't
- 38:24Speaker 2: be the kitchen.
- 38:25Speaker 1: And you know he's pressed himself against that wall. You
- 38:27Speaker 1: know he's licked that wall. You know that there's been
- 38:30Speaker 1: like a a soft cry. Right now, you know there's
- 38:37Speaker 1: been a soft cry. He's faster. They did all that wall.
- 38:41Speaker 1: He had described that wall before he invited her over.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Do you want me to read you the back of
- 38:45Speaker 3: the book?
- 38:46Speaker 1: Hold out? I have? Okay, Sorry, he's not getting to it.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Look, And if they had actually done the tip for
- 38:52Speaker 1: tat thing to where I saw them interact, and I
- 38:56Speaker 1: saw them start to realize that the reason why they're
- 38:58Speaker 1: so annoyed with one another is because they're the same person. Yeah,
- 39:02Speaker 1: and they're attracted to one another and whatever she doesn't
- 39:06Speaker 1: have he has, and all of it, then I would
- 39:08Speaker 1: have been sold on the love story at the end,
- 39:10Speaker 1: and I would be like, oh good, he quit his
- 39:12Speaker 1: job and now no one has to worry about workplace
- 39:15Speaker 1: sexual harassment.
- 39:17Speaker 3: No, but you're you're right good.
- 39:19Speaker 1: It was full of serial killer bullshit.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Well because the point where, like the build up to
- 39:26Speaker 2: the point to where we get to the elevator, wasn't
- 39:28Speaker 2: enough for us to understand that they are the same,
- 39:31Speaker 2: because they work so hard to show their differences, right, Like,
- 39:34Speaker 2: his space is gray, clean, sleek, not cluttered. Her space
- 39:38Speaker 2: is like super cozy, totally what we think a book
- 39:42Speaker 2: person space looks like. Right, and then they don't do
- 39:46Speaker 2: enough to show us their similarities in any way, shape
- 39:49Speaker 2: or form.
- 39:50Speaker 1: They also go from charcoal gray to fifty shades of
- 39:53Speaker 1: gray within a moment with one mini skirt. All of
- 39:56Speaker 1: a sudden, she's a dominatrix. Yeah, Hwoard doesn't I don't
- 39:59Speaker 1: have panties? And I was like, who says that out
- 40:01Speaker 1: loud in your office? Right?
- 40:03Speaker 3: Like that also was like a moment where I'm just like, oh, yes, Like.
- 40:07Speaker 1: This has never been the vibe. This has never been
- 40:09Speaker 1: the vibe in this office. And now all of a sudden,
- 40:11Speaker 1: you're telling him that you don't wear panties and you're
- 40:13Speaker 1: teasing him and you're flapping in the wind. Yeah, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: I'm confused, and he's painted his bedroom your eye color
- 40:20Speaker 1: and I cannot and I will not. This man is dangerous.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and to also continue to add on to that,
- 40:28Speaker 2: there isn't any sort of like, oh god, I lost
- 40:32Speaker 2: my train.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Also, I don't like either one of them. That is
- 40:36Speaker 1: a note in my outline. I was like, I don't
- 40:38Speaker 1: like either one of them. I go, I want her
- 40:40Speaker 1: to run away from him, because I do find him dangerous,
- 40:43Speaker 1: but I also don't like her mm because she's also
- 40:49Speaker 1: kind of just shitty and petty, and then once to
- 40:52Speaker 1: use him as like a vibrator. But also but but
- 40:58Speaker 1: then I also thought that him why.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Petty in a fun way? Because petty can be fun.
- 41:03Speaker 2: There's petty, there's fun petty, and then there's petty where
- 41:05Speaker 2: you're just like, this is really scary and harmful.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Well, and and then every time he would whine because
- 41:13Speaker 1: she was playing the game that he set forward through
- 41:17Speaker 1: years of them being shitty to one another, I was like,
- 41:20Speaker 1: why the fuck are you whiny? You've never written in
- 41:24Speaker 1: a fucking company Christmas card and left it on her desk.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I'm in love with you. It's you. I painted my
- 41:31Speaker 1: bedroom while you're.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Or like the flowers the next day and she assumes
- 41:35Speaker 2: it's Danny because the hammert and flower and like like
- 41:39Speaker 2: and then he doesn't correct her when she's like, oh,
- 41:42Speaker 2: Danny sent me flowers and he's like.
- 41:46Speaker 1: It's like yeah, it's like yeah, there were a lot of.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Opportunities to sort of build more of that, like planting
- 41:54Speaker 2: more of those seeds of like, hey, it was me because.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Like, hey, I do like you because it is kind
- 41:59Speaker 3: of out of the blue.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yeah. And the thing that makes my body feel like
- 42:04Speaker 1: I'm being bitten by fire ants throughout every time that
- 42:08Speaker 1: Ann talks is because like it's it's one of those
- 42:13Speaker 1: things where it's never enough, but you're also doing too much,
- 42:18Speaker 1: and that's another way to gaslight you, where it's like
- 42:22Speaker 1: I don't want you to show up at my place,
- 42:25Speaker 1: why are you here? Yeah, and then you leave and
- 42:28Speaker 1: then he texts you the next day. I can't believe
- 42:30Speaker 1: that you left. It's never enough, but it's also always
- 42:33Speaker 1: too much.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Yeah. There's another scene too, and it's quick because this
- 42:37Speaker 2: time I actually noticed it and you know, I've seen
- 42:39Speaker 2: this movie a billion times and it only came out
- 42:42Speaker 2: in twenty twenty one.
- 42:43Speaker 3: That tells you the state of my life.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Where she's doing something and the camera cuts to him,
- 42:48Speaker 2: and he's looking at her and his face is soft
- 42:51Speaker 2: and kind of filled with love. But it's quick, and
- 42:54Speaker 2: so I noticed it this time and I was like,
- 42:56Speaker 2: that's still not enough to signal to the audience that
- 42:59Speaker 2: he loves her.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it's a badly it is a badly done movie.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I love Lucy Hale. I've always loved Lucy Hale. I
- 43:11Speaker 1: think she's adorable. Maybe she was the best pretty little liar.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I remember what I was saying to say before. Go ahead,
- 43:17Speaker 1: but in no way, shape or form should you ever
- 43:20Speaker 1: be watching a movie and go, wow, Lucy Hale is
- 43:24Speaker 1: acting circles around these motherfuckers right right.
- 43:29Speaker 2: And I'm like, and she really, I mean, she's the
- 43:32Speaker 2: best part of that movie. Yeah, because again, like I
- 43:35Speaker 2: said before, it feels like he's.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Reading a script.
- 43:37Speaker 2: They're the The erotic dream scene also kind of fell
- 43:42Speaker 2: out of the blue because there wasn't any sexual at
- 43:45Speaker 2: tension in their fight. To me, it didn't have the
- 43:50Speaker 2: sexual at tension in the fight to signal for her
- 43:52Speaker 2: to have that sort of like seemy dream about him
- 43:55Speaker 2: later well.
- 43:56Speaker 1: And also they didn't build up enough of a like
- 43:59Speaker 1: biting enter between the two of them to where I
- 44:03Speaker 1: understood why she told him about the steamy dream to
- 44:06Speaker 1: begin with y, because I do know that, like sometimes
- 44:09Speaker 1: your dreams be wild when you're angry or frustrated or
- 44:13Speaker 1: whatever in your brain's trying to like let go of
- 44:15Speaker 1: some of that. But then for her to just be like, yeah,
- 44:18Speaker 1: I had a sex dream about my co worker, what
- 44:21Speaker 1: do you want? And I'm like, why would you even
- 44:23Speaker 1: tell him? Right? It? None thing about that made sense.
- 44:29Speaker 2: The other kind of super tropy thing was Dan was
- 44:32Speaker 2: the way they presented Danny.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I was really hoping that he won it at
- 44:37Speaker 1: the end of the day. I was like, this nice
- 44:39Speaker 1: boy who isn't stalking you and and.
- 44:43Speaker 2: It's been in love with her since the day one.
- 44:45Speaker 2: But like the way that they style him, the way
- 44:48Speaker 2: that they have him present himself, And I'm like, is
- 44:51Speaker 2: Danny like that in the book, because like he's really
- 44:54Speaker 2: great on paper.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, And then all of the insuls have leg
- 45:00Speaker 1: to stand on more. They're like, women don't like good guys.
- 45:03Speaker 1: They like guys who hate them. And it's like, well,
- 45:05Speaker 1: it's because secretly the good guys hate us too. The
- 45:10Speaker 1: nice guy hates us too, Like I don't know, but yeah,
- 45:15Speaker 1: the moment when he's like, I track you. I have
- 45:18Speaker 1: a chart in my day planner and I track.
- 45:21Speaker 3: You're that's that's it.
- 45:23Speaker 1: That's it for my nightmare. It is my nightmare. I number. Also,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you know that my new rule is if you meet
- 45:32Speaker 1: your partner's dad and that man feels entitled and privileged
- 45:37Speaker 1: to be awful, to hit on you, to be mean
- 45:41Speaker 1: to your partner's wife in front of you or whatever,
- 45:45Speaker 1: and you look at your male partner and you can
- 45:47Speaker 1: see that he's bothered by that, but he's never worked
- 45:50Speaker 1: through it. You have to run away. You have to
- 45:54Speaker 1: run away because you're next your next well.
- 45:59Speaker 2: And you know, men aren't really taught to work throughout
- 46:02Speaker 2: their emotions. They have to be dependent on women. And
- 46:04Speaker 2: that's not me saying it. It is a justification. That's
- 46:07Speaker 2: just me stating, like men are dependent on women to
- 46:09Speaker 2: process their emotions for them, and that's the problem.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to like you have to be like
- 46:15Speaker 1: that wedding would have made me go and I have
- 46:18Speaker 1: to go home, and I would have never seen the
- 46:21Speaker 1: green bedroom and I would have gotten to live my
- 46:24Speaker 1: life not having my entire like I.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Was, like, you wouldn't have fallen in love with him.
- 46:30Speaker 2: If you hadn't seen the Green Bedroom.
- 46:35Speaker 1: It bothered me so much. I was like, you have
- 46:39Speaker 1: to run away. You would have to run away, you
- 46:44Speaker 1: have to lead.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Why isn't she running away Because he's a foot taller
- 46:49Speaker 2: than her. She takes three steps in the way that
- 46:52Speaker 2: he takes half a step.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Right, I was like, oh my god, she's dead. She's dead.
- 46:57Speaker 3: She's a little compared to him, Like she's a solid
- 47:02Speaker 3: foot she's a solid foot shorter.
- 47:05Speaker 1: I'm making a lot of jokes, but this is how
- 47:07Speaker 1: we talk about serial killers. Like he was always nice.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Eddie had a puppy around, and he named that puppy
- 47:13Speaker 1: after her, and then all of a sudden she was
- 47:16Speaker 1: dead and so was the puppy. And then he got
- 47:19Speaker 1: another puppy to name after the next victim, and we never.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Caught of It's like in the episode of Full House
- 47:27Speaker 2: where that woman that Jesse used to date but Danny's
- 47:30Speaker 2: now dating, has a puppy that she named Jesse.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Uh huh, yeah. I'm like, run away, you have to
- 47:37Speaker 1: run away, you have to run away, because, like, honestly,
- 47:40Speaker 1: I was like, that's gonna be evidence in a CSI episode.
- 47:43Speaker 1: They're gonna be like we found a day planner where
- 47:45Speaker 1: he was literally tracking her entire wardrobe and marking boners
- 47:54Speaker 1: and and I'd be like, yes, sir, please arrest him. Sure, Mile,
- 48:01Speaker 1: you should have seen me, because like, I put down
- 48:04Speaker 1: my switch, I put down my phone. I just gave
- 48:08Speaker 1: myself over to the panic. I was like, this doesn't
- 48:11Speaker 1: feel good. I go, this feels like love bombing. This
- 48:13Speaker 1: feels like manipulation. This feels like gaslighting. He's hot, he's cold.
- 48:19Speaker 1: He screams at her because she's trying to play by
- 48:22Speaker 1: the new rules. But he's like, no, I want the
- 48:24Speaker 1: rules from three days ago. And I'm like, and it
- 48:27Speaker 1: all happened in a three week span, And I was like,
- 48:29Speaker 1: you have to run away. I was like, was his
- 48:31Speaker 1: bedroom always that color green? You would have to run away,
- 48:36Speaker 1: run quickly. You have to, you have to. And I
- 48:42Speaker 1: have to believe that in the book there's more context,
- 48:46Speaker 1: and Hulu just went naw. I I believe because there
- 48:53Speaker 1: were also parts of red white and royal blue. I
- 48:55Speaker 1: loved red white and Royal blue so cute. But the
- 48:59Speaker 1: entire time, I was like, this is moving too quickly. Yeah,
- 49:02Speaker 1: one of them is coming off as predatory because of
- 49:05Speaker 1: how quickly this is moving. Yeah. Yeah, and they've never
- 49:07Speaker 1: had conversations before, and now you're inside someone and I
- 49:12Speaker 1: don't understand, and there has to be more context in
- 49:16Speaker 1: this book. And I should really read this book because
- 49:18Speaker 1: I am enamored by these two and I haven't read
- 49:22Speaker 1: the book yet. That's on me.
- 49:24Speaker 2: I have two copies, actually, one collector's edition and one
- 49:28Speaker 2: is the one that I read.
- 49:30Speaker 3: The collector's edition has an extra extra chapter. It's so good.
- 49:35Speaker 1: I hear on one of the days that I'm visiting
- 49:37Speaker 1: the reading salon news happening. So there we go.
- 49:40Speaker 3: It's true.
- 49:41Speaker 1: But in this book, I couldn't get past it. I
- 49:44Speaker 1: was like, no, he's too volatile, and we have so.
- 49:51Speaker 3: But but they haven't painted to not be.
- 49:55Speaker 2: So it's like like you're pointing out it's volatile and
- 49:58Speaker 2: disguise because he is pretty even throughout the entire movie
- 50:03Speaker 2: until until she's like, hey, let's just bang it out
- 50:06Speaker 2: and get it over with, and he's like, and get
- 50:08Speaker 2: the fuck out of my house.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Right now. I'm insecul baby, and I've been to therapy,
- 50:14Speaker 1: so I've seen the feelings wheel, where every feeling is
- 50:18Speaker 1: just a secret feeling in the skies. I've seen it,
- 50:22Speaker 1: they used it. I'm married at first sight that I
- 50:24Speaker 1: binged over the weekend. Oh, I love that.
- 50:28Speaker 3: We should always talk about our feelings.
- 50:30Speaker 1: We should always talk about our feelings.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Vulnerability should not be weaponized.
- 50:34Speaker 1: So then when we saw his dad, I was like, oh,
- 50:37Speaker 1: he has all of the same anger issues as his dad.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Ye, because dad really is a villain.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Yeah, truly. And I was like, they just present as
- 50:45Speaker 1: sad boy bullshit, right, and sad boys get a break
- 50:48Speaker 1: because they're sad, and we're upset that they're sad. And
- 50:52Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm not upset that he's said I am
- 50:54Speaker 1: still very much afraid.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Of this man.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Yeah, And his dad's like, isn't my son like the
- 51:01Speaker 2: most amazing and brilliant and look at how fantastic and
- 51:04Speaker 2: gorgeous he is? And it was like my second son,
- 51:07Speaker 2: like the most disappointing thing in the entire world.
- 51:11Speaker 1: And again I was like, you know, we know when
- 51:13Speaker 1: our families feel that way about us, but no one
- 51:15Speaker 1: says it out loud at a wedding. I was. However,
- 51:19Speaker 1: I was at my aunt's house during college and it
- 51:24Speaker 1: was probably during a holiday, and my mother's cousin asked
- 51:29Speaker 1: me how school was going, and I was like, well, Bubbs,
- 51:33Speaker 1: I actually made Honor Roller Jean's List or whatever the
- 51:36Speaker 1: fuck I had made. And Bubbs was like, oh my god,
- 51:40Speaker 1: that's so great. Mamily, You're like champion of our lives.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Like you know, he's my uncle Chokey's son. So they
- 51:48Speaker 1: love me in a way that will never be replicated. Yeah,
- 51:53Speaker 1: and one of my parents and we'll I'll just guess
- 51:58Speaker 1: which one with Yeah, you think she could have pulled
- 52:02Speaker 1: off those grades the last few years in high school,
- 52:04Speaker 1: so I have to shell out as much money for college.
- 52:09Speaker 1: And I was just like, I'm just gonna go kill myself,
- 52:12Speaker 1: Like I'll just go drown myself. It's comment because such
- 52:16Speaker 1: a necessary comment. The same cousin, So I was a
- 52:21Speaker 1: late in life driver because driving is anxiety inducing.
- 52:25Speaker 2: And I also was a late in life driver because
- 52:28Speaker 2: it is expensive.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Yes, and my first big trauma was my grandma dying
- 52:33Speaker 1: of cancer when I was fifteen going on sixteen. So
- 52:38Speaker 1: every time I was practicing driving, it was always like
- 52:42Speaker 1: we were either talking about Grandma or someone was like
- 52:45Speaker 1: or an uncle was trying to help me or whatever,
- 52:50Speaker 1: or sometime I think maybe like if we were on
- 52:53Speaker 1: a country road, my mom would let me drive to
- 52:55Speaker 1: practice or whatever, and I hated it. And after my
- 52:58Speaker 1: grandma died, that was my first brush with like, oh,
- 53:01Speaker 1: this will be the depression that I struggle with for
- 53:03Speaker 1: the rest of my life until I'm medicated. And then
- 53:06Speaker 1: I'll just like kind of struggle. Yeah, I'll just get
- 53:10Speaker 1: like the little mind sprints and so so I never
- 53:16Speaker 1: went into practice driving freaks me out. One of the
- 53:20Speaker 1: very first times that I made a mistake during driving,
- 53:23Speaker 1: I ended up in a ditch and I was basically told,
- 53:25Speaker 1: you got yourself in the ditch, get yourself out of
- 53:27Speaker 1: the ditch. And I got out of the car and
- 53:29Speaker 1: I was like, I know where home is, and I'll
- 53:31Speaker 1: just walk there because don't see me needing help, and
- 53:36Speaker 1: then tell me to figure it out. I'm crying. I'm
- 53:41Speaker 1: worried that I've ruined the car. Like so I was
- 53:45Speaker 1: a late in life driver. Same cousin is also telling
- 53:50Speaker 1: me that maybe one of his kids, or maybe one
- 53:54Speaker 1: of the one of my other cousins was a late
- 53:56Speaker 1: in life driver. And and before I can even say, like,
- 54:02Speaker 1: it's just because it makes me and I think I
- 54:05Speaker 1: did say, I go, it just makes me really stressed
- 54:07Speaker 1: out and nervous, and I don't like doing it. Uh
- 54:12Speaker 1: so my feelings are spoken out and same parent goes, yeah,
- 54:16Speaker 1: she thinks like it was something among the line's though,
- 54:19Speaker 1: smartest kid in the world but can't learn how to drive.
- 54:22Speaker 1: I was like, and now for the rest of my life,
- 54:27Speaker 1: my family thinks that I'm a bad driver. Whenever I
- 54:31Speaker 1: show up anywhere safely, they're like, oh my god, you
- 54:33Speaker 1: really did that, oh on the way here.
- 54:40Speaker 2: And it's not like you have evidence showing that you're
- 54:42Speaker 2: a bad driver. Yeah, Like we called my dad called
- 54:46Speaker 2: my sister crash because in the period of like a year,
- 54:49Speaker 2: she had like three or four car accidents.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I've damaged two cars. I have backed into a car
- 54:56Speaker 1: not paying attention, and I have damaged my own car
- 55:00Speaker 1: trying to get out of a parking garage because I
- 55:03Speaker 1: because when you have ADHD, you have spatial awareness issues, right.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Also cars aren't designed for women's eyelines, right, So I
- 55:13Speaker 1: just let a giant ass traffic cone that they used
- 55:16Speaker 1: to like block the entrance of the parking garage when
- 55:19Speaker 1: it's closed, I just let it like run through my car.
- 55:23Speaker 1: And when I'll just think about that when I get home. Yeah. Oh, Also,
- 55:27Speaker 1: when snow apocalypse happened, the only way to get my
- 55:30Speaker 1: car out was to just like let the snow drift
- 55:35Speaker 1: take part of like a cosmetic part of the vehicle.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I was like, yep, I because again I don't care
- 55:44Speaker 1: what the car looks like. I have places I'm the
- 55:47Speaker 1: same place to do. I literally don't care what my
- 55:50Speaker 1: car looks like.
- 55:51Speaker 2: People were like, you did get a car wash? I'm like,
- 55:52Speaker 2: do I would you like to take it through the
- 55:54Speaker 2: car wash for me? Because it is not that it's stressful,
- 55:58Speaker 2: but it's like the line is always so long I'm
- 56:00Speaker 2: not waiting for thirty minutes that it's not an effective
- 56:03Speaker 2: use of my time.
- 56:04Speaker 1: The car wash is stressful when is my car ever
- 56:06Speaker 1: in neutral and like I don't know when to hook
- 56:09Speaker 1: it onto the I don't know how the car wash
- 56:11Speaker 1: works well.
- 56:13Speaker 2: And I can't take Josephine through it with me because
- 56:15Speaker 2: she does, like legitimately freak out. And if I go
- 56:18Speaker 2: into the car to do something that isn't like going
- 56:21Speaker 2: to the grocery store, like where I can just stay
- 56:23Speaker 2: in the car to run my errands, I take her
- 56:25Speaker 2: with me. Yeah, and I'm missing hubcaps and my and
- 56:29Speaker 2: my family members are like, well, we can get you hubcaps.
- 56:31Speaker 2: I'm like no, because every time they rotate my tires,
- 56:33Speaker 2: the hubcaps go flying off within days and that's scary.
- 56:39Speaker 1: So anyways, what we've learned here, ladies and girls gaze
- 56:44Speaker 1: and things, it's who we're here for is should you
- 56:49Speaker 1: ever walk into a man's home and he'll be like,
- 56:51Speaker 1: do you like the way that I redecorated? And you'll
- 56:54Speaker 1: be like, oh, did you redecorate? And he'd be like, yeah,
- 56:57Speaker 1: I painted the kitchen the exact red of your favorite scarp.
- 57:04Speaker 1: You have to run away if you're not dating that man,
- 57:08Speaker 1: if you're not married to that man, if that man
- 57:10Speaker 1: has not been anything but mean to you. And then
- 57:13Speaker 1: all of a sudden he's like, that's the color of
- 57:17Speaker 1: your eyes. Though. You have to run away.
- 57:19Speaker 3: You have to leave. It is imperative, you'res dependent on it.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Men like this have to be stopped. Like the teasel,
- 57:29Speaker 1: there's lighthearted banter, and there's light hearted and teasing, but
- 57:33Speaker 1: he was like legitimately shitty to her.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I dated a guy who man, he was cute.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Oh it was so hot and he was very very
- 57:43Speaker 2: very good fun to look at, and making out with
- 57:46Speaker 2: him is real nice.
- 57:48Speaker 3: But he loved to do the mean banter m m.
- 57:52Speaker 2: And like the picking on, and I know being a
- 57:55Speaker 2: child of people who do that, it turns into bitterness
- 57:58Speaker 2: and resentment. And I was like, I don't want that.
- 58:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I have to break up with you, like
- 58:03Speaker 2: this is over. And we had some pretty good chemistry,
- 58:06Speaker 2: like it's insane. I've never had like that. I that
- 58:09Speaker 2: was some pretty intense chemistry I've ever experienced. And he
- 58:12Speaker 2: was like, I can't believe you're gonna walk away from
- 58:14Speaker 2: this because in twenty years, you don't want us to
- 58:16Speaker 2: hate each other or.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Some shit like that. And I was like, yeah, yeah, sorry,
- 58:21Speaker 1: your personality sucks.
- 58:23Speaker 2: We just don't want to be like teased like that
- 58:26Speaker 2: every day all day, like it's exhausting.
- 58:28Speaker 1: When some of my younger cousins went to college and
- 58:32Speaker 1: they thought that freshman week, the week where you make
- 58:34Speaker 1: all of your life long friends for college and you
- 58:37Speaker 1: have themed days and whatever, was bullshit and they didn't
- 58:40Speaker 1: want to go. An adult in my life was like,
- 58:43Speaker 1: you know, maybe we really should have shield your kids,
- 58:47Speaker 1: you kids from the sarcasm, because you guys like literally
- 58:51Speaker 1: think everything is bullshit. I don't know, like my first
- 58:54Speaker 1: instinct is this is bullshit, And I've had to like
- 58:57Speaker 1: rewrite that code, yeah, and learn how to.
- 59:00Speaker 2: With the same I mean, I told you. I think
- 59:03Speaker 2: I told you offline. I was like, I think that
- 59:05Speaker 2: I am the problem because the whole time I was
- 59:09Speaker 2: participating in something, I was just heckling in my head.
- 59:11Speaker 3: And I was like, you know what, you need to stop.
- 59:15Speaker 1: It's fine, Like there's no reason to be heckling.
- 59:18Speaker 3: Why are you heckling?
- 59:20Speaker 1: And I was like I was. I was like, Jules
- 59:23Speaker 1: is gonna once Acond share a movie with me. That's
- 59:26Speaker 1: important to her. She probably read the book.
- 59:29Speaker 3: It's not that important to me.
- 59:30Speaker 2: I just he's hot, and then I'm gonna have a story, Julia,
- 59:34Speaker 2: Men are dangerous.
- 59:37Speaker 3: I feel like you're always having to tell me this though.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Well, like I didn't have a panic attack when Steve
- 59:43Speaker 1: Bouchemi was shooting a gun in space and had space
- 59:48Speaker 1: I was like, Steve Bochevy, you quit it.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Well, it's not like he was trying to like convince
- 59:53Speaker 2: like the lady scientists to marry him, right, he just.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Saw a robot. It was like I will play with
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: that robot.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Like I just feel like, I just okay, here's the thing, Natalie,
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: I apologize.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: He was also so bad at acting. Yeah, that also
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: made me mad. I was like, you're not even good
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: at manipulating.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: You're not even good at this.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: I do want to I do wonder though, if that's
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: who he is all the time. Like I made a
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: comment to somebody, I said, I really want to see
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: anyone but you, But I'm really disappointed because I don't
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: think Sidney Sweeney is a very good actress. I'm a
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: controversial opinion. That's literally I said. I said, controversial opinion.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: I don't think Sidney Sweeney is a good actress. And
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: literally ten people were in my DMS and they're like,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: she's not and it's like okay. I was like, okay,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: I don't know. She keeps getting hired. She's fucking gorgeous,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: and like what it is?
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: This is why I'm obsessed with her. The new trend
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: is to be serving a lot of kunt at all times. Yeah,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Sidney Sweeney serves kunt just by like lancet at you
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: and you're like, I don't know what I did, but
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I don't know, so maybe she should invest in doing
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: pantomime instead, because like I watched the trailer of that
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: movie and I'm like, oh, Glenn Powell saves this movie
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: because he's like so invested in being that guy. And
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: then it sounds like she's reading a script.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: See. I think she's so good in Euphoria for whatever
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: reason I watched.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: I've watched the first the first hat I've watched.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: I'm like two episodes from being done with season one,
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: but like taking in season one in a binging manner
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: was so much that I'm still like it's a lot
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: for me, you know, my emotions.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Anyway, The way that you feel when watching Euphoria is
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: how I felt while watching that man tried to convince
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Lucy Hale that he was in love with her and
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: everything was fine. Well, everything is not behind.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: I will read the book and report back.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I I mean, as we know, we don't have
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: to redeem men to remain dangerous.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: No, But I still I'm still curious because Dan's got
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: to be there's got to be stuff that was deleted
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: that they were like, oh, that doesn't matter, but then
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: you then you're like no, but then.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: My neck hurts from Whiplash, right.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: I need the author to weigh in. I need the
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: author to be like, yes, they did ruin my book,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: like they did a hack job.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Authors would never I.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Make a lot of money once your movie gets adapted.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I wish they would, but they would never.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: And they pretend they would like producing credits and writing
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: credits like, oh they were involved, but they're not.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: It's name only, it's so.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: But I did learn from our hot doing our heart
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: stopper episode. The gal who wrote the graphic novels or
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: the person who wrote the graphic novels wrote the scripts.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Good for Alice Osman. Yeah, Austin, you know who you are.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I'm fucking obsessed with you. I don't remember who it was,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Yes I do. It was my friend Gianna. No, no,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: it was someone else said I was just out to
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: dinner or lunch.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: With because you're popular.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Because I'm so popular, I have too many friends to
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: keep track of. But anyways, one at someone's all over
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: my face. Someone somewhere believe uh backed me up on
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: how Nick should have been a big dumb Oah the
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: entire time someone backed me up, and I was like,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I will die on this.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I will die on this hill.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: And if you don't know what we're talking about, you
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: need to go to the Jellypops book Club and wherever
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: you find your podcasts and listen to the heart stopper episode,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: like that sweet.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Baby Angel did a fine job, and then like that
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: show should be winning awards. But I deserved a heart stopper.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Oh maybe it was Sam. I deserved a heart stopper
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: where Dick was a big dumb ass oh the entire
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: time time, because it's part of the story.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't wait for volume five to release. I'm
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: so excited.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: But anyway, that's what I should have told people I
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: wanted for Christmas, and then i've I would have gotten
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: sixteen copies.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: We've run a little long who because they.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Haven't done one in a while.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: I hope we actually talked about the movie. I think
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I just went into so I had a panic attack.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: No, I did talk about the movie, and you know what,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I think we did a great job at analyzing it.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, let's write a thesis based on this conversation alone.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Like if someone wants to get their PhD off of
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: what I say, you let me know. But yeah, that
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: type of man be dangerous and I'm so tired. I'm
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: so I've also not personally, but I have been getting
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: a lot of information lately via married at First site
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: and the personal people in my lives about men who
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: have duped and used like love bombing and gaslighting and
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: telling you that everything's okay and it's all a big dupe.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: So maybe it wasn't the Christmas wat.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: But eating I mean that also could be true, real
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: and true. I always worry about like that kind of
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: stuff because I do.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: I am a skeptic when I know.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I love love and love is my
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: favorite thing and I want my.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Life to hear bottle up brom com. But there are
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: there's a graveyard of men who will tell you how
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: hard it was to break through this brick wall, cement wall.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: And if you're out there wondering why Nappley, what was
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: the last room rom com that made you squishy on
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: the inside and in your pants, It wasn't a rom com.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: It was a dark comedy and it was.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Saltburn that burns so good.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I was fucking raring to go the entire time of Saltburn.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I was like, this is dark, this is fucking weird.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I was talking with a friend about it because Jacobal
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: is going to be the.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: New whatever for Twilight.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Uh huh Edward.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: And my friend who I was talking to about this
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: loves Twilight. It's her Roman Empire, and so she was like,
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: I just don't see it from the pictures. I was like, ma'am,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: go see Sulburn because Emerald Funnel gives us the thirst traps,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: of thirst traps of that young man and I had
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: to confirm that he is of legal age because the
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: thirst traps.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Of that young man were so good.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Sulburn was so weird and the entire time I was like,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: oh yeah, I just can't wait to be hoped. So
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: thanks Emerald.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: I mean somebody, I bet somebody has.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: I was like, something needs to put a montage together
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: of just those thirst traps because wow, like the way
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: he just the way she captures him, just like looking
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: at the camera like we're watching him through Oliver's eyes.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: Ah, so good.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: What I love the most about Emerald Funnel is that
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: on called The Midwife, she plays the most beautiful, put together,
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: like no nonsense, yeah, gets everything right, gets everything done
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: midwife that that show's ever seen. Yeah, and then she's
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: a cold cock weirdo to the lady in the streets,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: put a freaking the sheet and I'm like, I see you, Emerald, And.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Do you think it's because she played Camila Parker Bowls
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: on the Crown that that just like unlocked it for her.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: And she had to have some guy who was trying
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: to convince us that King Charles was ever good looking
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: gaslight her into believing that telling her that he wanted
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: to be her damp on was the sexy come on,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: such the weirdest.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: The fact that he could overcome that is insane to me.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Thee I want to be your tampon because that's how
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: much I want to be inside you right now. That
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: is I painted my walls green because your eyes are
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: the color of green.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, that's what all we have to say.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe it's time we wrap it up now because
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: we can't top that.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Julia, tell everyone where they can find you, friends.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: I'm on the Gram and the TikTok, the Julia Washington.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: I am there crying about not being able to turn
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: on my heat because.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: I can't afford it. This week.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: I am your host of pop Culture makes me Jealous,
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: where we analyze pop culture through the lens of race
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: or gender and sometimes both.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: This week we released an episode.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: About the Tutors, featuring Natalie Katona and our friend al
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Arinthia Carter, and we like, we get into it, Homie,
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: like it's we We get some pretty deep analysis. We
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: deserve a degree for the amount of work we've done
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: for that episode. Owned also over on Jelly Pop's book Club,
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: which has suffered because I was busy in November trying
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: to make my business successful. We're talking about The Last
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Unicorn with Jackie Hayes and that drops I think on Friday,
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: and this is our last uh.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Pomfrey for the year.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: And yes, I am still comfy with this movie, and
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: yes I will continue.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: To watch it every winter.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Sorry, Natalie, I had a panic attack. All of the
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: alarms in my body were like this man is bad.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: We have been here before.
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: Yes, but tell everybody what's up. And men, I've tolerated
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: POD's world.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: This week, so to all the men I've tolerated it before.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Is on its holiday break, so on our main feed
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: you will be seeing audio versions of Still Comfy. So
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: for those of you who are like YouTube, won't get
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: it together and make it play on my phone while
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: I do other things. I hear you, I put it
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: on the feet. So this week is a night's tale
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: where I try to write a music live.
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: I love that. That was a great episode. I think
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: we did. They're all great episode. I would like to take.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: A moment to plug both of our Patreons because over
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: on the two ultimate I've tolerated before Patreon, we're gonna
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: start moving a lot of free content over there, and
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: then we're starting a new series for our highest tier
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Patreon members, which is called The Misogyny Meltdown where, let
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: me tell you, I really hold it together on when
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I'm live on the internet and live on a mic
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: with a person. Believe it or not, this is me.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: This is me being like, you're a professional.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: You're a profession, you're a public you can do this.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: People that are gone high? Are you? So the Misogyny
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Mail Down will be where I lose my mind and
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: it will take a different form every time I release
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: something for that series, so sometimes. So currently it's free
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: for everyone, and it's the Misogynist of the Year Award,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: and voting is currently open for what pop Culture Icon
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: was the biggest asshole this year? Right now? The uh,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: the top contenders are Justin Timberlake, the entire Spears family,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: and Dax Shepherd. They are followed closely by Darius Jackson
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: and Tom Sandoval and Cody Brown and Chris Pratt and Joejonas.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: You two are big enough losers that no one's even
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: voting for you.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: Because it's just expected at this point.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Yeah, people are like, I don't even know what they
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: did this go.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Around, Like they're just in there forever.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: So that's all happening on Patreon. It's free, it's a
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: free app, it's a free follow, it's just another social
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: media platform. I don't know about everyone else, but my
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Instagram has been like fuck all this month and Patreon
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: don't do me like that. And you're gonna want to
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: watch both of our Patreons coming up because this week
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: and this week only, starting on Sunday, Julian and I
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: will be in several rooms together in physical proximity of
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: one another.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: Yes, we're gonna be making a lot of content. You
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: don't even know how to hang in there.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: And there will be other guest roles coming in on
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: our content because we are seeing a lot of our
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: tried and true favorite people that we've met through podcasting
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: and other people's content, and yeah, yeah, I'm so excited.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: We were. I just like, I can't believe it's already
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: like it's gonna be like I'm so excited.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: And day that's when I fly out. So everyone remember
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: out there for this holiday season. If one day he's
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: painting his room the color of your eyes and the
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: next day he's called you a dirty little twit in
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: a push up bra, but then also telling you that
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: that was fine and he's super sexy, that's gaslighting. That
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: wasn't talking about her. You don't know who he was
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: talking about. They didn't tell us.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: I bet they tell us in the book.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I am assuming that he was just going along with
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: whatever his boss said and maybe secretly recording him. But
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: we never know. We don't know. They don't.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, New York is New York. You don't have it's
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: not you can. You don't have to have consent from
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: the other person to record them.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: So maybe he was doing that. We don't know. Julie
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: is gonna read the book. I can't deal with another
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: panic attack. But most importantly, stay cozy, stay comfy, and
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: we'll see you in the new year.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: I'm so excited.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: By friends at Gasla. I means suck.
