- 0:21hello everyone.
- 0:21Welcome back to Mocktail Minutes.
- 0:24This is Bailey.
- 0:25And this is Brianna.
- 0:26This week we have a special guest.
- 0:28Before we get there we will share our mocktails we are having.
- 0:31So I am just doing Element today.
- 0:34I do, like I said in the previous episode, half a packet and I'm trying the citrus salt one.
- 0:40I do like it.
- 0:40It's pretty good.
- 0:41I just have water with the trace mineral drops and a little bit of pomegranate juice.
- 0:45I'm kind of, I didn't get anything this week when I went to the store.
- 0:50I went to the store early this week, but I didn't get anything.
- 0:52So I'm just keeping it simple.
- 0:54Yeah.
- 0:54See, I have several options of like fun mocktails at home, but I forget to bring them to work where I'm working.
- 1:01So it really doesn't help.
- 1:03Do the trace minerals have like a taste to them when you add Only if you add it to like a little bit of water.
- 1:09So it kind of has a tiny bit of a salty taste, similar to the adrenal cocktail, but nothing that strong.
- 1:16But if you add it to a whole Stanley or even half a Stanley, can't taste them.
- 1:20okay, good to know.
- 1:21So, like I said, we do have a special guest today, Ellie.
- 1:25She is one of our fellow Metabolism Makeover coaches.
- 1:28If you follow the Metabolism Makeover account, you get to see her face all the time.
- 1:33So, she's gonna chat with us today about, fast food options, living on the go.
- 1:38Before we get there, Ellie, do you want to introduce yourself?
- 1:41I would love to.
- 1:42First of all, so happy to be here and chat with you guys.
- 1:44I love, I mean, we work behind the scenes all the time for Metabolism Makeover.
- 1:48Of course, I'd love to chat with you here.
- 1:50Yeah, like Bailey said, my name's Ellie.
- 1:52You can see my face on the Instagram doing who knows what shenanigans on the Metabolism Makeover Instagram.
- 2:00Yeah, I love hanging out over there.
- 2:02And then I do a lot of one on one coaching for Metabolism Makeover as well.
- 2:06And I've been a dietitian for, oh gosh, five and a half years.
- 2:10So, yeah, I love my job right now.
- 2:12It's great.
- 2:12I've had jobs I a dietitian too.
- 2:15What did you do before Metabolism Makeover?
- 2:18The job right before this, I was a diabetes educator at a local hospital, and I liked being a diabetes educator, but I didn't love going into work and working a fixed number of hours and having a really high client load.
- 2:30It was just very stressful, if you can imagine, so and then before that, I did other things like.
- 2:37Long term care.
- 2:38So like working with the geriatric population and it was a good starting position, but it wasn't my dream job as a dietitian.
- 2:44Yeah.
- 2:44And for those of you who don't know, all three of us actually started with Metabolism Makeover at the same round.
- 2:50So, fun fact.
- 2:52Seems like forever ago.
- 2:54It really does.
- 2:54Metabolism Makeover is just part of my identity now, I think.
- 2:58I think especially for Bailey and I, because we started as interns.
- 3:02We were dietetic interns, and so, you know, metabolism makeover kind of took a chance on us, and so now I'm just like, I'm here to party.
- 3:10It was, I guess my first dietitian job.
- 3:13Really?
- 3:13we like joined together to like learn how to teach it.
- 3:16I was like super last minute to join.
- 3:19Like I was on opening and I like filled out the application on, on a whim.
- 3:24And it was very unplanned.
- 3:26So I think that's really fun.
- 3:28Yes.
- 3:28And we kind of talked about in our episode of Megan, how like unplanned mine was to get into club and mem.
- 3:34And I had talked to her, I think for like two hours on a zoom call before I joined about, should I do this?
- 3:40Should I not?
- 3:41I'm just an intern.
- 3:41Like, do I even matter?
- 3:43Does anyone care what I say as a dietitian?
- 3:46She's like, no.
- 3:47Yeah.
- 3:47This is for you.
- 3:49Okay.
- 3:49If you say so, I don't, I think that the application being like, they're not going to look at, they're not going to look at this, so whatever, it is fine.
- 3:57And then I got an email and I'm like, okay, I guess I'm hopping on a call.
- 4:01Still being like, yeah, she's not going to hire me.
- 4:03Like it's not going to be a thing.
- 4:04She's not going to bring me on.
- 4:06And then here we are.
- 4:07You made the cut.
- 4:08We all do.
- 4:09Oh, right.
- 4:10So today, like I said, we're going to discuss.
- 4:13Fast food options with that being said we know Fast food is not the top tier choice of everything and to be quite honest Like I don't eat top tier for a single day.
- 4:27Maybe maybe some days is like a B and that's okay and I think Really, my idea with this topic was just to give you some grace, some insight of we can just make life work and it doesn't have to be as complicated as we feel like it needs to be.
- 4:43I don't know, does that make sense to you guys?
- 4:46Yeah, I think most of my clients with just people I, you know, talk to on a regular basis when they think of fast food or convenience food, it's like, it's all or nothing with it, right?
- 4:57So I was excited to talk about this topic because it totally doesn't have to.
- 5:01It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
- 5:02And I think you can still feel pretty decent eating fast food, believe it or not, even convenience food.
- 5:08Not on like an everyday basis, but when life happens, because it will, you know?
- 5:13Yeah, I think it's a good thing too, to know how to navigate this, because a lot of times people do have that all or nothing thinking, and then life does happen, and suddenly you're needing to make a choice on a whim, or like go to fast food, and you just like don't know what to choose, and a lot of times I think it kind of hurts people's goals and progress, just because they simply don't know what to grab, and then it feels overwhelming, and then I feel like it can go two different ways, where it's either we just say, Well, who cares, and we eat a meal that really does not make us feel good, and then it just goes out of control the rest of the week.
- 5:49Or it goes where, okay, we're just not going to eat anything at all because it's not the ideal meal.
- 5:55I think with conversations with clients, they'll be, they'll say something along the lines of, Well, my only option was fast food.
- 6:03And so sometimes it's like they'll have the fast food, but then they wonder what it would have been better if I just didn't have anything at all.
- 6:08And I'm like, Oh my gosh, no, you know, you definitely, even if it's not the most ideal meal, nourishment is always better than no nourishment, even if it's something that's less than ideal, something that's not going to balance your blood sugar, because at the end of the day, your body still knows what to do that fuel.
- 6:26I think that's one of the things that people are most shocked about when they ask me like, you know, my only option is, is McDonald's.
- 6:32Should I just not eat anything?
- 6:34And I'm like, no, you need to choose McDonald's and like, let's do a good option there rather than you going five, six, seven hours without eating anything.
- 6:42Like, that's not, that's not going to be a good option for you.
- 6:45Because then you get home, and you're starving, and you just raid the pantry, so I'm like, at this point, it would have been better just to get your McDonald's burger and apple slices.
- 6:55Yeah.
- 6:57So, I guess, what is...
- 7:00Your top three tips for keeping fast food PHFF like if someone's like, okay, I am gonna have to do fast food this week or like, what do I do?
- 7:09What are like three things that you tell them?
- 7:12so first thing is always protein, right?
- 7:14Like what's a solid protein source?
- 7:16so when I think of Man, Chipotle is just always a go to, right?
- 7:21So for me, if that means I need to ask for double chicken, because I usually get chicken there, then I'm going to do that, even if it costs me a couple extra bucks, because I know it's going to keep me more full and satisfied longer.
- 7:32If I think of other restaurants Chick fil A, if that means that I need a 12 piece nugget instead of 8, then I'm going to do that.
- 7:39I need a solid source of protein.
- 7:41The second thing is how can we add, if possible, this might mean being a little creative doing something you might not normally do, is how can we add some color or fiber?
- 7:50How can we add some micronutrients slash fiber, again, to help with satisfaction, but to also just add to the nutrient value of the meal, even if it's less than ideal.
- 8:01So for me, some hacks thinking about good old Chipotle is I love to add the fajita veggies.
- 8:06We're adding some color, we're adding some micronutrients, we're adding some fiber.
- 8:11When I think of Chick fil a, having a side salad from Chick fil a.
- 8:15They are actually super delicious.
- 8:17that's super easy.
- 8:19Other fast food, there really might not be anything to add color or fiber.
- 8:23And so it's fine, right?
- 8:25Like you can deal with the cards that are dealt with you.
- 8:27So if you're able to get a solid source of protein, you're already winning there.
- 8:31And then my third thing is thinking about the starchy carb game plan.
- 8:37And I think there's going to be some meals where starchy carbs are going to be higher.
- 8:41And it's not going to be as blood sugar friendly and that's okay.
- 8:45But if the fast food convenience food is something that's a consistent thing in your life And you want to be goal supportive, then I would have the conversation with yourself of what am I gonna do for starchy carbs?
- 8:56Like do I have to have all of these starchy carbs at this meal?
- 9:00So when I think of Chipotle, do you need a tortilla and rice and beans and chips?
- 9:06Like there's gonna be sometimes you go to Chipotle and me too.
- 9:09I'm gonna go there I'm not gonna worry about these things because I know if I have a really high carb meal once a month I know that it's consistency over perfection.
- 9:18But if I'm hitting up Chipotle once or more a week Then I'm gonna want to have starchy carbs that are a little bit more goal supportive.
- 9:26So for me, I know that I love to have beans in my bowl and I love to have some chips on the side.
- 9:33So I don't care that much about the tortilla and I don't really care about the rice every time.
- 9:37And so being a little bit more strategic with starchy carbs helps me keep my blood sugar a little bit more balanced.
- 9:43When I think about other restaurants, let's go back to Chick fil a, I'm thinking, okay, do I need the bun?
- 9:51Maybe not.
- 9:52Maybe I'll just do the grilled nuggets.
- 9:53Maybe I know that I love the fries and I'm gonna get fries, so I'll get grilled nuggets this time.
- 9:58And so just making those swaps.
- 10:00So all in all, high protein.
- 10:03How can we add fiber or color?
- 10:05And how can we be a little bit more strategic with starchy carb, but not stressing about perfection?
- 10:10I like the idea of being strategic because then it allows you to still have like the foods that you love.
- 10:16Like, I feel like Chipotle and Chick fil A are my go tos as well.
- 10:20I know if I'm going to Chick fil A, I'm getting fries.
- 10:23Like, and so for me, it's very simple to be like, okay, I don't need the bun.
- 10:27I actually really love their grilled nuggets, like, I'll get some salad, some grilled nuggets, and some fries.
- 10:32And then I feel fulfilled, but I also know that I made, like, a goal supportive decision.
- 10:37And I think it's hard for people to feel okay with that.
- 10:40It's hard for people to be like, oh my god, I got fries, like, what am I doing?
- 10:42It's like, yeah, but you still need carbs, you know?
- 10:46Yeah.
- 10:46It's like, let's be strategic about it.
- 10:48Right.
- 10:49And when you think about it, fries are, they're potatoes.
- 10:52Like if you think of a potato, it's actually so nutrient dense and so good for you.
- 10:56I think we've just demonized like, oh, French fries are so bad.
- 11:00And yeah, they might be cooked in less than ideal oils.
- 11:03But again, you're You're making the best choice you can with the situation.
- 11:07And with being strategic, just because you're not having a bun today doesn't mean you can't have a bun the next time you go.
- 11:13It doesn't have to be this black and white picture.
- 11:16Just learning to be like, okay, what do I truly want today?
- 11:20What's going to help me feel really good?
- 11:23And sometimes, yeah, I get a burger and fries because I really just want a burger and fries, and, you know, that's fine.
- 11:31We just gotta move on and decide what's the next best thing we can do.
- 11:34But then, most of the time, if we are going out to like bar food, it looks like, A burger and a salad because I prefer the bun over fries.
- 11:42Maybe I'll steal like two fries from Josh.
- 11:44But you know, just finding that balance and realizing too that just'cause we have these favorite foods, these favorite restaurants, doesn't mean every time we have to have them.
- 11:56My favorite food is waffles, for example.
- 11:59That doesn't mean I have waffles every single day for breakfast, but they're still my favorite food.
- 12:04Yeah, right.
- 12:05You don't have to give it up.
- 12:06I think you brought up another good point about sometimes it'll be lacking color or like lacking fiber.
- 12:13I think people get really caught up in that.
- 12:15Something I like to tell clients is not every meal is going to be perfect.
- 12:19Like, try to make it PHFF as much as possible, but at the end of the day, You're not going to be able to control everything instead of getting really caught up on it and be like, Oh my gosh, I ate that.
- 12:29I shouldn't have ate it.
- 12:29I shouldn't have ate it.
- 12:30Look at what maybe that meal was lacking and add it to your next meal.
- 12:35Can you have like a super high fiber, like colorful dinner do it?
- 12:39Because in the grand scheme of things, that's all that really matters rather than being like, Oh my gosh, I screwed up.
- 12:43I went to Chick fil a.
- 12:44I overindulged and now the day is just over and like dinners out the window too.
- 12:49I think we all want to talk about this with our clients is not dwelling so much on, okay, I had fast food.
- 12:55I had whatever it was and okay.
- 12:57It happened now.
- 12:58What's my next best choice?
- 12:59How can I nourish myself?
- 13:01And just like constantly thinking again, what's my next best choice and moving forward instead of dwelling on rear view mirror, why is it hard to say?
- 13:09Rear view mirror of, Oh crap.
- 13:12I didn't have a vegetable at whatever meal.
- 13:15Like if you were saying Brianna, you don't have to have a vegetable at every meal to be healthy.
- 13:19exactly.
- 13:20And I also like what you said, like our body just sees nutrients.
- 13:23Like we have this thing that like, Oh, we had bad food today.
- 13:27And my body just knows that it's bad.
- 13:29And I've been bad when in reality, your body just sees what nutrients, macronutrients, micronutrients you put into it.
- 13:34And it knows what to do with that.
- 13:36And it, you get something from quote unquote, bad food.
- 13:39This is something I tell clients to your body is getting benefits from.
- 13:44Bad food, like it's in our heads that it's bad.
- 13:47Yeah, when you say that, it reminds me I, it would have been elementary school, but I still think of this to this day because you reminded me of it.
- 13:56I had like we were talking about nutrition and PE class or something related to that.
- 14:00I remember my teacher saying that.
- 14:03Oh, if you have like a bucket of popcorn at the movie theater, but you drown it in butter, then any, any benefits from the popcorn, like the fiber or any nutrients from it, then they're canceled out from the butter.
- 14:14And I always thought that growing up, that if like you top your vegetables with Like a cheese sauce, or if you dipped it in ranch, or if you did something like quote unquote bad to it that it cancelled out the nutrients, wouldn't that be so false?
- 14:28And I think I had to do a lot of unlearning with that as I grew up, kind of before I, you know, became a dietitian, but I'm sure a lot of people also think along those lines.
- 14:37I would almost guarantee that most people do.
- 14:40Yeah.
- 14:41Yeah.
- 14:41I thought that too, especially I feel like there was an era.
- 14:45I want to say maybe I was middle school.
- 14:47I would say more high school age when they eat this.
- 14:50Not that books were super popular.
- 14:53So then it was like, everything you ate was it was turning bad.
- 14:57And.
- 14:58Really, if we look anywhere, it's almost like someone is saying some type of food is bad.
- 15:03I mean, there's people on TikTok saying not to eat blueberries.
- 15:06I'm like, eat the blueberry.
- 15:10Who doesn't eat blueberries?
- 15:11There's no reason not to.
- 15:13Yeah, but it's true.
- 15:14And then it's people get so overwhelmed with this information that it's just like...
- 15:19Oh my gosh, fast food is always, fast food, convenient food is always going to be associated with bad and I'm just doing bad in my body and it's, I shouldn't eat it.
- 15:26And then people are going without eating all day because they didn't have any good options.
- 15:31That's not great for you either, so.
- 15:33Maybe just, yeah, I would say it was finding the lesser evil.
- 15:37And that's why, kind of how we talked about at the beginning, I'd rather you eat the McDonald's burger than not eat at all but then we also have to think about should we be doing it every day every meal?
- 15:49Probably not you probably won't feel good Anyways, but again if we're just doing it every once in a while and then on the other part of our lives We're learning how to incorporate more whole foods more color We're on a great track and even thinking about like the ranch or adding cheese sauce to our vegetables Is ranch the best high quality sauce?
- 16:10No, probably not.
- 16:11There's other options But if you really like ranch and now you're going to eat a cup of carrots because you have some ranch to dip it in I'd rather you do that to be honest Sometimes I feel like that's the only way my kids get vegetables It's like they drown it in ranch.
- 16:24I'm like, well, good.
- 16:25You got your veggies.
- 16:26Yeah, you got your veggies.
- 16:27That's what I want.
- 16:29Same for a grown husband with a picky, picky eater palate.
- 16:32Same thing.
- 16:33Josh goes through an obscene amount of ranch in a week.
- 16:37And I'm like, you are the only one eating a family size ranch in two weeks.
- 16:42It's like a ranch on everything.
- 16:44Ranch.
- 16:45I love ranch.
- 16:46Yes.
- 16:47Thank you for eating your carrots and salad.
- 16:49Yeah, right.
- 16:50I think you bring up, like, Bailey, I think you said, like, I don't know, somebody said it.
- 16:56You guys probably both said it, but how, you'll notice, like, certain things start to not feel good in your body.
- 17:02I think that's something I really like about metabolism makeover and just working with clients in general and teaching them how their body works is suddenly you start to make food choices based off of.
- 17:13What's going to make you feel good.
- 17:14It's not, we're not taking away, you know, all the starchy carb options at a fast food restaurant, cause we're dieting or we're trying to cut calories.
- 17:21You start making choices based on how do I want to feel in a couple hours?
- 17:24What am I doing for the rest of the day?
- 17:26Can I be sluggish?
- 17:27Can I feel like this?
- 17:28Like, can I afford this blood sugar roller coaster?
- 17:32And that's such a awesome epiphany that I see clients having where it's like.
- 17:37I made my food choices based off of how I wanted to feel instead of, how many calories I had left.
- 17:43It's such a mind shift change.
- 17:45Yeah, It reminded me to have like, with that mindset shift, it's not necessarily fast food, but just sitting down to a restaurant.
- 17:51You can get into a mindset of like, Oh, this is such a fun menu.
- 17:55There's so many good foods and there's this, you can almost feel like I have to order all these things, kind of like a last supper mentality when it's like I can have one, one, I mean, just depending, right?
- 18:06Like something you actually, that sounds really fun and delicious right now.
- 18:09And I'm still going to feel good, but I don't have to have everything right now in this moment.
- 18:14And so, like, how can I find the balance of something I really want and it sounds really good, but I have permission always to have something else at a later time.
- 18:22Maybe I can have that 1 appetizer you know, next month when I come out with my girlfriends or whatever.
- 18:28And so taking that pressure away and focusing on.
- 18:31I still want to feel good and I'm allowed to feel good just because I'm at a restaurant or I'm in the drive thru doesn't mean that has to all go out the window, right?
- 18:38I always say too just these foods, they are always available and I think Megan has said this at one of her trainings or something.
- 18:46It's like birthday cake where we go to a birthday party and the birthday cake is so good so then we have like three or four pieces because it's a birthday party.
- 18:54It's birthday cake, but really.
- 18:56Birthday cake is not scarce.
- 18:57Like we can go to Walmart and get a birthday cake at any day.
- 19:02We can say it's our birthday, you know we can have these foods at any type of day, same thing at a restaurant, you can go back to these restaurants.
- 19:09Usually, I mean, if you're in another state, maybe a different story, but these types of foods, they're always going to be available.
- 19:16So we don't have to do every single thing at one time, even just with working on our nutrition, on our health goals in general.
- 19:24We don't have to do every single thing perfectly either at one time.
- 19:27Yeah, that is the, the secret is giving yourself permission to have those foods whenever, because I feel like a lot of people feel out of control when they go to restaurants or a fast food place, like when they're around their favorite foods, because they demonize it.
- 19:42And it's almost like, well, I'm here.
- 19:45I'm doing it.
- 19:46I know I shouldn't be but I'm already here.
- 19:47I'm already doing I'm already ordering I'm gonna go all out because i'm not gonna do this again because I know i'm not supposed to and then it's like you feel Like you have to just like that last supper mentality get it all in now because this is so bad I'm not gonna do it again.
- 19:59I'm gonna be better next week or next month, you know instead of being like These foods are always here.
- 20:05I give myself permission to have them.
- 20:06If I want it, I can have it.
- 20:08Just when you have that conversation with yourself, instantly, you start having better control around food.
- 20:14Because, you know, okay, like, these aren't bad.
- 20:16They're not off limits.
- 20:18I can come here.
- 20:18Like, I, I told my clients, when I was,=really into dieting, I craved chocolate cake.
- 20:25Like that was my thing.
- 20:26I'd go to a restaurant and I'd be like, Oh my gosh, do they have chocolate cake?
- 20:29Do they have it?
- 20:29It's not anything I'd ever even want if I wasn't dieting, but I knew I wasn't supposed to have it dieting.
- 20:34So then I wanted it all the time.
- 20:36So that was like, like a first step I had to do is be like, I'm allowing myself to have dessert at restaurants.
- 20:41If I want it, and most of the time I don't get it because I don't want it, but then if I want it, I get it and I eat a normal amount.
- 20:50I'm not sitting there gorging myself, walking out of there feeling horrible because I had to get every bite in because I knew I shouldn't have been doing it.
- 20:56It's like totally a mental thing.
- 20:58I feel like if you find yourself needing fast food, convenience food, and you're like, I can't not go through the drive thru and get french fries, like they're your kryptonite.
- 21:07Why can't you have french fries at home?
- 21:09Why can't you Quick cut up a potato right drizzle in some olive oil or avocado oil, salt, pepper, and air fry that puppy, right?
- 21:18Yeah.
- 21:19Delicious.
- 21:19Like, why can't we eat more potatoes on a regular basis?
- 21:22And it takes away that hype of, oh my gosh, I have to get french fries every time I have birthday cake whenever you want.
- 21:29It doesn't have to be a birthday.
- 21:31We can have cake.
- 21:33I'm just thinking about, too, the part of what do I truly want, or is it a habit that you've kind of picked up on for me?
- 21:41Because, you know, like, talking about french fries, french fries and ketchup is like, they always went together.
- 21:47But I realized like a few years ago.
- 21:48I don't really even like ketchup.
- 21:50It's not something I love So I just I honestly just like plain french fries and everyone looks at me as a dietitian like oh It's cuz you're a dietitian.
- 21:57You don't do sauces.
- 21:58You don't want to add the extra calories there I'm like, no, it's just because I don't care like it does not bother me to not have ketchup I really just like fries by themselves and even You know, having a dairy allergy, I used to eat ranch all the time because I liked it.
- 22:13But now, obviously, I don't eat ranch, and so I'm just used to it, I guess, too, and it's not something I really cared about, and I just...
- 22:21Sometimes I just want a good waffle fry.
- 22:23I like mine.
- 22:24And ranch Yes, Ana, do you wanna share your favorite, like go-to fast food things?
- 22:30Yes.
- 22:30So I'll do Chipotle first and then I'll do, I'll do Chick-fil-A.
- 22:35Hopefully that's not repeating.
- 22:36'cause I have a feeling Ellie's gonna do that too.
- 22:38But for Chipotle, I really like their salads because I really like their dressing.
- 22:43They have like an apple.
- 22:45I don't know.
- 22:45Apple cider vinegar.
- 22:47I don't know what it is, but it's very good.
- 22:48So I get that.
- 22:50I like beans over the rice.
- 22:51So I do pinto beans.
- 22:53I'll do like double chicken, or I like their steak.
- 22:56And then I get fajita veggies.
- 22:58I get a little bit of the corn.
- 23:00And sometimes I'll get a little bit of sour cream on the side because the dressing is really good with the sour cream.
- 23:07But yeah, I like their salad.
- 23:08And then I like at Shake Fil A, I do the grilled nuggets and I always do 12 just because I like to kind of front load with that protein.
- 23:16And then I really like their kale side salad.
- 23:18I know not everywhere has it but I like it.
- 23:21And then I always get a small fry.
- 23:23my favorite.
- 23:24Okay, go to Chipotle Bowl.
- 23:26Brown rice, black beans, chicken, fajita veggie, corn salsa, guac.
- 23:33Incredible.
- 23:33It's just the bomb.
- 23:35Chick fil A.
- 23:37I mean, I love their Cobb salad.
- 23:40I feel like it's so good, especially with the spicy chicken filet.
- 23:43So but I'll branch out here a little bit.
- 23:45My mom and my sister, we usually do lunch every Friday.
- 23:49It's either Chick fil A or Wendy's.
- 23:52And Wendy's, I will do their chili.
- 23:55I think it's so good.
- 23:56I feel like that's controversial because some people are like, I would never ever eat that.
- 24:00I think it's so good.
- 24:01I don't care.
- 24:02I don't care where the meat comes from.
- 24:03Like, I think it's so good.
- 24:05So I'll do that usually with a small fry.
- 24:07And then I can't not go to Wendy's and not get a baby chocolate frosty.
- 24:11They make like the really small ones.
- 24:13Yeah.
- 24:14So good.
- 24:16So I guess mine, I would say Chipotle.
- 24:19It's nice and close to my new office.
- 24:21i'll do chicken fajita veggies guacamole if i'm feeling crazy Actually, usually I get guacamole.
- 24:28It's okay with the upcharge I would say my second My second one i'm really into my callister's deli right now I'll do a sandwich and maybe a fruit cup.
- 24:38Sometimes they're salad It's just so good.
- 24:41I actually hate Chick fil a.
- 24:43Do not look at it daily.
- 24:46I hate Chick fil a.
- 24:48I mean, I like it.
- 24:49At least you're honest about it.
- 24:51I posted it one day on Instagram and I fired some people up because they're like, How can you hate Chick fil a?
- 24:58They were probably from Texas.
- 25:00They are Chick fil Like, they will die for it.
- 25:04Yeah, anytime I've gone there, the service, which everyone raves about the service.
- 25:09I've never had great service.
- 25:11Like, I felt like I was so rushed and it's also complicated.
- 25:14I guess for me, because I have to check the dairy stuff because you never know what's going to be cooked in.
- 25:19And so that's just the pain in the butt.
- 25:21And then the last time I was there, I missed the little ordering person at the front.
- 25:25Yeah.
- 25:26So I get to where, like, the drive thru menu is, and on the menu it says, You should have ordered by now.
- 25:31I'm like, well, I didn't.
- 25:33So now I'm stuck in line.
- 25:35And I get to the window and I'm like, oh, what'd you get?
- 25:37I'm like, nothing.
- 25:38I haven't even ordered yet.
- 25:40Nothing.
- 25:41Help me.
- 25:41They look at me like I'm this idiot.
- 25:43I was like, there was no one out there.
- 25:46So I go back around, and of course, they're standing out there now, and it's the lunch rush, so then the line's very long.
- 25:53And I'm like...
- 25:54Are you kidding me?
- 25:55And then I had issues with the ordering and then for my dairy allergy, they don't tell you Like as you're ordering with the little people that are standing out there if it has dairy or not You have to wait till you get to the window But then they're frustrated at the window because you're slowing down their speed And they print off the entire ingredient list, which is like the length of a receipt So i'm trying to read through this in five seconds as they're just staring at me It's Every time, it's just a very overwhelming experience, and it gets me very anxious, and I get very crabby, and then I get the food, and I don't like their chicken, which is like the only thing, like the grilled chicken, and that's the only thing I can have.
- 26:36So, it's just, it's a disaster.
- 26:38I do like their fruit cups, so that's, I like McAllister's too, though.
- 26:46I never know what to order there, because there's so many options.
- 26:49But I agree, Ellie, I do like Wendy's chili, too, and I don't care where the meat comes from, and that's how I feel about Taco Bell, too, like, ignorance is bliss, just let me live.
- 26:58Okay?
- 26:59Taco Bell has been there for me.
- 27:00Mm hmm.
- 27:01Okay?
- 27:02We're broken.
- 27:02I'm hungry, go to Taco Bell.
- 27:04Unless you take Josh with you, then his meal, I'm not kidding, it was like 40 one night.
- 27:10Literally, he gets like five different things.
- 27:13Like, you ever heard of a dollar menu, boy?
- 27:15Like, just get a soft taco and be happy.
- 27:18I just, I'm such a cruder habit, like I will just stick to the same thing.
- 27:23Oh yeah, two soft tacos, no cheese.
- 27:26I haven't been to Taco Bell, I have no idea when the I went today, I would definitely get a Crunchwrap.
- 27:32haven't gone in a while because the town I live in, they just, it's subpar, and it's just, it really lets me down, but.
- 27:41we will get a Supreme on a road trip.
- 27:44That would be good.
- 27:44We went one night and they were literally just like out of food and we were like, what do you mean you don't have tacos?
- 27:51That Taco Bell.
- 27:53Well, This is very weird, but alright.
- 27:56There was another night, and our good ol Troy Taco Bell.
- 28:00It was really late, Josh ordered a burrito and he opened it, and it had a bite taken out of it.
- 28:07And I was like, Oh no! Don't eat it.
- 28:10He's like, I'm so hungry.
- 28:11And he ate it.
- 28:12And I was like, oh my god.
- 28:15What is actually wrong with you?
- 28:17I was like, at least eat from the other end, I don't know, nope, he ate it.
- 28:21That's funny.
- 28:22He pulled it back and I still get my soft tacos.
- 28:25He's still alive, so.
- 28:28Yeah, he can survive.
- 28:28He's been like a year.
- 28:29He's still kicking it.
- 28:31Everyone who lives around here knows of Troy.
- 28:34They'd be like, Oh yeah.
- 28:36The Troy Taco Bell.
- 28:38Maybe someone just got hungry and forgot that they were eating their snack while they were packing our meal.
- 28:43Wrapped up their snack instead.
- 28:45So they were probably pretty upset too.
- 28:48Oh my gosh, that is so funny.
- 28:51All right.
