Transcript
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Before anything else, notice your hands, let them soften.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Find a position that feels steady and let your body settle wherever it already is.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Don't change your breath, just notice it arriving and leaving.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Let your breath find its own rhythm now.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Soft light coming through a window, the kind that doesn't ask anything of you.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: You're sitting there, and for once, there's nowhere else you're supposed to be.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: No one is waiting on an answer.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: Nothing is unfinished in this room.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Let yourself notice how unfamiliar that feels.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: How long it's been since you sat somewhere without also holding what everyone else might need from you.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: There's a version of you already sitting here further along than you are today.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You are sitting in that soft light, and your shoulders are just shoulders, not a shelf for what other people are feeling.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: You look up and you say, I remember when I carried it before I even knew I was carrying it in my jaw, in my stomach, low and tight, before I'd said a single word.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I don't anymore, not because everyone stopped needing things, just because I stopped being the place it all landed first.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Bring your attention to your jaw.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Notice if it's holding something, an answer you haven't given yet, a yes you've already decided on without saying it out loud.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: See if it can soften just slightly.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Bracing, lifting, waiting for something.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Let them drop even half an inch.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: And your stomach.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: This is often where it lives the longest.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: The low tightness of overgiving, of tracking what everyone else needs before you've asked what you need.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: See if it can loosen even slightly, even just for this breath.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: You don't have to solve anything right now.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: You're just noticing where it's been living.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: That's enough.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Gently, feel it.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: I don't have to hold this here.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Feel it.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: This isn't mine to carry.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Feel it.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I can set this down.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: They are also not mine to hold in my body.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Feel your feet wherever they are right now.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Feel the surface beneath you, solid, unmoving, asking nothing of you.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: When you're ready, let your attention come back into the room you're actually in.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: You're back.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And a little more of you came back with you than usual.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Carry one thing with you.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Your jaw, your shoulders, your stomach.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: They were never meant to hold what isn't yours.
