  I think that some people have, I think, wrongly jumped to a

  conclusion that Miss Phillips can't possibly have suffered

  what she says she suffered because of the calm way in which

  she spoke to 911 operators. But we're going to talk about

  So while the narrative from the police report says there, the

  police, the deputy says I do have probable cause to arrest

  Mr. Riches. I can actually go to it right

  Yeah, I have probable cause to arrest Jonathan L Riches for

  violating RCW. And then a couple of, you know,

  assault in the second degree, harassment, threats to kill DV

  and interfering with reporting of DV.

  bit. But he says he has probable

  cause and he lists the offenses in right, right down here,

  assault in the second degree, DV, harassment, threats to kill

  DV, interfering with the report of DV.

  But there are no charges that I can find in the Washington state

  courts. That may change.

  It may not. Maybe he never faces charges, I

  don't know. But these are felonious.

  These are felony charges. So I don't know if if a person

  commits felony, I hope they or if if it is alleged that a

  person commits felony and there is good evidence and the police

  do an investigation and find they have probable cause, then I

  think they should make that charge.

  investigates Mr. Rich's here is a convicted felon that he spent

  at from my understanding about 10 years in prison in federal

  prison for fraud right and also. I mean, he's described as one of

  the most litigious people in the world.

  He has he has filed lawsuits against some of the funniest

  And over Christmas, we were in Washington state and he

  assaulted me, broke my nose. And he there's a criminal case

  vicious assault in August. And at the time, well, I didn't

  Then the cycle continues into the reconciliation phase.

  main indicator of a future homicide, one of the main

  indicators, according to Brian Bennett, who's been a guest on

  the show several times, is things like strangulation,

  right? You're 800 times more likely to

  be a victim of homicide if you are a victim, survivor of
• 37:08
  strangulation. So it is, it is so important

  that you break out of this cycle and knowing that the leaving

  phase is the most dangerous. So it's so it's so tough, but

  housing, children or finances. Women recruited for the study

  were economically independent and often lived away from

  abusers during the relationship. Importantly, the women's

  relationships had all safely ended, yet most held a seemingly

  inexplicable desire, even to themselves to return to the

  abuser. Participants included doctors, a

  dentist, a science teacher, and a chef.

  Quote patterns of manipulation, grooming and coercion were so

  consistent, it was as if all these women were talking about

  quote. This is a distinct perpetrator

  profile. Specific techniques are used to

  construct and then weaponize love to produce a form of

  study, it can tether women to abusers even without physical or

  financial coercion. Victim attachment to an abuser

  is not a passive trauma response, but the result of

  deliberate brainwashing by a perpetrator.

  can get obscured by ideas of codependency, which suggests

  Running through the interviews and experience all the women

  Soulmate abusers displayed an outward charm and often a fierce

  devotion to their partner. Particularly early on this gave

  way to cruelty with verbal and then months later often physical

  abuse. Randomly juxtaposed with the

  return to warmth and affection quote, it fits patterns of

  intermittent reward and punishment, a staple of

  described classic love bombing in the early stages.

  Some spoke of such intense happiness that other non abusive

  relationships paled in comparison.

  trauma to justify abuse, foster dependency and obscure
