  Kepner's murder and essay. However, he is now being tried,

  prosecuted as an adult, and several major media outlets are

  using his full name. I'm kind of on the fence, so

  recap, shall we? This is Anna Kepner.

  Anna Kepner was an 18 year old young woman from Titusville, FL.
• 5:49
  She died on November 7th of 2025 while she was on a cruise with
• 5:53
  her family on board the Carnival Horizon cruise ship as it
• 6:02
  traveled back to Miami from the Caribbean.
• 6:06
  She had been vacationing with multiple family members,
• 6:08
  including her 16 year old stepbrother with whom she shared
• 6:13
  a cabin on the trip. Her death so ugly she was
• 6:21
  missing for a little while, Where is Anna, where is Anna?
• 6:23
  Where is Anna? That she was discovered stuffed
• 6:27
  in among like spare blankets and life jackets and stuff like that
• 6:31
  in the cabin that she was sharing with at least one
• 6:34
  stepbrother. I think they're probably more.
• 6:38
  Her death was later ruled A homicide.
• 6:41
  It's caused by mechanical asphyxiation, according to the
• 6:45
  medical examiner. It happened while the ship was
• 6:48
  in international waters, which puts this into federal
• 6:51
  jurisdiction, which makes it easy for us to get court records
• 6:56
  once they became unsealed. If it would have happened in
• 6:59
  Florida, it probably would have been even easier.

  But it's it's a federal case investigated by the FBI.

  Authorities allege that her stepbrother, known in records as
• 7:13
  TH, is responsible for her death and that prior to her death, he
• 7:19
  assaulted her in a keeping this YouTube friendly in an SAE

  manner SA ish SA esque manner. He SA Ed her right, according to

  authorities. I shouldn't say that as fact,

  according to prosecutors. According to investigators, that

  is what happened. So that is where we are.

  There was information filed beforehand.

  This is known as the superseding indictment.

  It is the US, the United States of the America versus Timothy

  Hudson, a minor, as the defendant and the Grand jury

  charges that count 1. Murder on or about November 6th,

  2025, within the special maritime and territorial
• 11:45
  jurisdiction of the United States upon the high seas and
• 11:48
  out of the jurisdiction of any particular state or district,
• 11:52
  with Miami-Dade County in the Southern District of Florida
• 11:55
  being the district in which the offender was arrested.

  The defendant, Mr. Hudson, a minor, did knowingly and

  unlawfully perpetrate an attempt to perpetrate a murder that is

  1, The willful, deliberate, malicious and premeditated

  killing of Anna Kepner with malice aforethought, and two,

  the unlawful killing of Anna during the perpetration or
• 12:23
  attempt to perpetrate an aggravated SA.

  This was something that I think we all at all suspected.

  I even think extended family members probably talked about it
• 12:37
  a little bit. But it is it is the charge it
• 12:43
  was aggravated because let's see, it's not the count is just
• 12:49
  murder, not aggravated murder, but the IT was an aggravated
• 12:53
  essay. I do like to talk a little bit

  about malice aforethought. We talked about that from time
• 13:02
  to time. Malice aforethought means
• 13:07
  basically pre planning, right? Intended to do it and planned to
• 13:13
  do it. However, that planning can
• 13:17
  happen in a moment, right? You're attempting to essay your
• 13:22
  step sister, for example. She's not cooperating.

  And then she says something like I'm going to tell mom and dad
• 13:30
  I'm going to and then, OK, well then she has to go.
• 13:34
  That is malice aforethought. It can happen instantaneously.

  That was one of the things that was so frustrating when I was a
• 13:43
  member of a jury years and years and years ago on a double
• 13:47
  homicide case, that people not willing to come to the the
• 13:51
  conclusion that no, he didn't have to.
• 13:53
  He didn't have to plan this for days and days and days.

  He he decided to do it in the moment.

  It was it was really, really tough to to make that argument.

  OK count #2 is aggravated SA on or about November 6th again
• 14:11
  within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of
• 14:14
  these United States upon the high seas and out of the
• 14:18
  jurisdiction of any particular state or district, with
• 14:20
  Miami-Dade County and the Southern District of Florida

  being the district in which the offender was arrested.

  The defendant THA minor did knowingly cause or attempt to

  cause a person that is Anna Kepner to engage in a sexual act

  that is by causing contact between his I have to keep this

  YouTube appropriate sexual organ, let's say and Anna

  Kepner's sexual organ by penetrating Anna Kepner with his
• 14:50
  sexual organ and did so by use of force against Anna Kepner.

  And then the rest of the document that is just, you know,

  couple of other things I don't like it tells us basically
• 15:06
  murder, first degree murder. He's facing life in prison and,
• 15:10
  and a maximum fine of $250,000. And for the aggravated essays
• 15:15
  facing life in prison maximum fine of $250,000.

  So not not little charges here. OK, So there are several

  documents that I decided to bring to you.

  These are a little out of order. I want to come back to this one

  which was sealed and became unsealed.

  This was filed back in February. Now remember Anna was murdered

  and assaulted according to authorities the previous
• 15:50
  November, right? So we're talking a little about

  2 1/2 months, little over 2 1/2 months later, they filed this

  motion and it's an unopposed motion to transfer the case to
• 16:08
  adult status. And the reason I want to share
• 16:11
  this one with you is there's a lot of background, OK. the
• 16:19
  United States of America, by and through the undersigned
• 16:22
  Assistant United States Attorney hereby files this unopposed
• 16:26
  motion to transfer case to adult status as the juvenile
• 16:30
  defendant, Timothy Hudson. Pursuant to the provisions of
• 16:34
  Title 18, US Code, section 5032, and the interests of justice.

  In support of its motion, the United States avers the
• 16:43
  following relevant factual background On or about November
• 16:48
  7th. So the 6th of the 7th.

  I guess they don't know exactly what date it was.

  the Carnival Cruise Lines Horizon of the Seas while the

  ship was on the high seas on its journey to Miami, FL.

  The subsequent investigation of Anna Kepner's death resulted in

  the prosecution against the minor, a 16 year old male.

  So there were three people in that cabin, right?

  District of Florida filed an information on February 2nd,

  2026, charging the minor with one count of murder in the first

  degree, a violation of this code, and one count of
• 19:31
  aggravated essay, a violation of that code.

  Again, you guys, that information document is

  available. It's one of the very first, it's

  one of the very first pieces of information like file #3 and I'm

  hopefully I'm, I've got these organized in a way that you guys

  But I have included the docket report it, it's just because it

  was probably a, a motion that was an oral motion or something

  The minor surrendered himself on February 3rd, 2026.

  So he wasn't charged for November, December, January, for

  three months. On the same day, the minor had

  his initial appearance and arraignment on the information

  before United States Magistrate Judge Edwin G Torres.

  When he pled or plead not guilt, he pleaded.

  He pled not guilty to the charges contained in the
• 20:43
  information. The minor also demanded
• 20:46
  discovery and the Magistrate Court entered the standard
• 20:49
  discovery order in this matter. Additionally, A pretrial
• 20:54
  detention hearing was held on February 6th, 2026 upon the
• 20:59
  government's request for pretrial detention.

  After an hours long hearing, the United States Magistrate Judge
• 21:05
  Torres released the minor defendant with various
• 21:09
  conditions to the custody of a family member.

  We have a motion that I'm going to read.

  Paragraph 5. Pursuant to US Code, 18 US Code

  5032, the proceedings against the minor shall continue a final

  disposition hearing unless a the minor requests to be proceeded

  against as an adult or be upon a motion by the United States

  requesting to transfer this matter from juvenile status to
• 22:24
  adult status, the United States now makes said request, which is
• 22:31
  unopposed by the minor. Consequently, the minor Mr.
• 22:35
  Hudson, has executed a written document.

  Attached hereto is attachment one to this motion requesting he
• 22:42
  be proceeded against in this matter as an adult.

  So not only is the United States the prosecution asking that he
• 22:52
  be tried as an adult, he is. I mean, it's not even that he's
• 22:59
  unopposed to it. He full on a saying, yeah, let
• 23:02
  let's let's do this in grown up court.

  Interesting. I'm curious for you lawyers that

  are watching, if you could tell us in the live comment why

  somebody would rather be an adult court than juvenile court.

  memorandum. Memorandum of law quote, a

  juvenile who is alleged to have committed an act of juvenile
• 23:34
  delinquency and who is not surrendered to state authority
• 23:39
  shall be proceeded against under Chapter 4 O3 That is under the
• 23:42
  provisions of the Juvenile Delinquency Act.

  Here, the United States has alleged the minor committed 2
• 23:48
  acts of juvenile delinquency by information on February 2nd,
• 23:52
  2026. I think that is an
• 23:54
  understatement, but you know, legally speaking is probably
• 23:57
  accurate. He's a juvenile delinquent
• 23:59
  because we're saying he committed murder and aggravated
• 24:02
  essay that is, that is delinquency.

  I would say at least normally, Therefore, the provisions of the
• 24:08
  Juvenile Delinquency Act would require a delinquency hearing to
• 24:12
  be held for this court to make a determination of delinquency.
• 24:16
  However, this court may proceed against the minor as an adult in
• 24:21
  the interests of justice as outlined in Section 5032.
• 24:25
  Under certain circumstances applicable here, the court may
• 24:29
  proceed against the minor as an adult of the United States as an
• 24:34
  adult if the United States makes a motion, as it does now, to the
• 24:38
  court for the discretionary transfer of this matter to adult
• 24:41
  status. This transfer may be requested
• 24:43
  where a the juvenile is 15 years or older B.
• 24:47
  The ACT which is alleged to have been committed was an act after
• 24:50
  the juvenile's 15th birthday. I think even B are the same.
• 24:57
  OK. C The act is one that, had it
• 25:00
  been committed by an adult, would be a felony, that is a
• 25:03
  crime of violence or a drug trafficking offense.

  If such a motion is made, the court must then conduct conduct
• 25:10
  an evidentiary hearing to determine if the matter against
• 25:13
  the minor should proceed. Proceed to adult status, where
• 25:17
  the government has the burden to prove by a preponderance of the
• 25:20
  evidence that the transfer of this matter is in the interests
• 25:24
  of justice. Here, the minor is 16 years of
• 25:29
  age and is alleged to have committed 2 offenses after the
• 25:32
  age of 15, which if committed by an adult.
• 25:35
  Oh I, I see the difference between A&B.
• 25:38
  OK I get it. The it's the offense date and
• 25:40
  the charge date is the difference OK, so if it were
• 25:44
  committed by an adult would both be crimes of violence?
• 25:46
  Moreover, the Government avers that the serious nature of the
• 25:50
  offenses in this matter presents a compelling federal interest in
• 25:54
  transferring the matter to adult status.
• 25:56
  Finally, the authority to proceed with the this motion to
• 25:59
  transfer has been authorized by the United States Attorney for
• 26:02
  the Southern District of Florida under the authority delegated to
• 26:06
  him by the Attorney General of the United States, as evidenced
• 26:09
  by attachment to to this motion which is made a part of this
• 26:13
  motion. As such Government's motion
• 26:16
  meets the basic requirements for the court to consider, this
• 26:18
  matters transfer to adult status.
• 26:21
  Therefore, the court could proceed to a section 5032
• 26:25
  hearing if the minor objected to the Government's motion
• 26:28
  nonetheless. Oh, there's more.

  The court may also transfer this matter to adult status if the
• 26:34
  minor, in writing and with the advice of counsel, request such
• 26:37
  a transfer. Here, in addition to the
• 26:41
  Government's motion and as evidence in attachment one to
• 26:44
  this motion, the minor is requesting this Court
• 26:46
  transferred this matter to adult status as the minors requested
• 26:50
  this writing in writing that this court proceed in the matter
• 26:53
  against him as an adult, the court need not proceed to a
• 26:57
  Section 5032 hearing since under the plain wording of Section
• 27:00
  5032, the minors written request is also a proper vehicle for the
• 27:04
  court to transfer this matter to adult status.

  Once this Court has entered an order transferring this matter
• 27:10
  to adult status, the government will then seek a two week period
• 27:13
  from the date. Blah blah blah, blah blah, blah

  accompany his father, Thomas Hudson, to work between the

  hours of approximately 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM on April 8th through
• 46:41
  10th. The elder Mr. Hudson works as a

  supervisor for Landscaping Take Two Hobby Company.

  During his time in his father's care, Mr. Hudson would not have

  seas and route to Miami, FL. The subsequent investigation of

  Anna Kepner's death resulted in the instant prosecution against
• 52:56
  the defendant, Mr. Hudson, a 16 year old male.

  Pursuant to the provisions of the JDA, the US Attorney for the
• 53:03
  Southern District of Florida first filed an information on
• 53:06
  February 2nd making allegations of against the defendant for one
• 53:10
  count of murder in the first degree and one count of
• 53:13
  aggravated SA, and then on the third he surrendered himself
• 53:20
  right and was officially arrested.

  On the same day, the defendant had his initial appearance on
• 53:28
  the information before Judge Torres plead not guilty to the
• 53:32
  allegations containing information.

  The defendant also demanded discovery and the Magistrate
• 53:37
  Court entered the standard discovery order in the matter.

  Additionally, on February 6th, a detention hearing was held and
• 53:47
  upon the government's request the defendant be detained for
• 53:50
  dangerousness, the defendant requested the Magistrate Court
• 53:53
  also conduct A probable cause hearing.

  After the detention hearing, Judge Torres found there was
• 53:59
  probable cause for the alleged charges but denied the

  government's request for detention.

  As a result, the Magistrate Court released the defendant to

  the custody of a family member with various conditions which we

  read about at the JDA detention hearing.

  Judge Torres also stated the government could ask to revisit

  matter to adult status. And then there was an order on

  February 26th and a written request to transfer the case,

  day. OK, I am a creature of habit.

  So this is what I do for breakfast.

  For breakfast, I do scrambled egg whites with lots of salt and

  pepper. I hate eggs.

  I do not like eggs at all. They are gross to me.

  But I can stand egg whites if there's lots of salt and pepper

  and I don't have any like family heart issues.

  So sodium isn't a real concern for me.

  In fact, you know, I, I felt like I needed more sodium

  because I was drinking more water.

  I wanted to hold on to to that hydrate my muscles while I was

  working out. So lots of salt and pepper on my

  scrambled egg whites. And then one of the very few

  processed foods that I give myself is ketchup because I love

  ketchup. And so I put some ketchup on

  there to cover up the taste. I don't like eggs, but I eat 180

  grams of egg whites with salt and pepper with 30 grams of

  Heinz ketchup every morning along with that.

  So 180 grams of egg whites is the equivalent of four or five

  eggs, The whites of those eggs, right.

  OK, then along with breakfast. My breakfast is big.

  It's like 800 calories. I do a an approximation of a

  dessert that my mom used to make for special occasions like

  equal parts like Cool Whip and then a package of gelatin like

  flavored strawberry, lime, Raspberry, whatever jello in

  there. She'd mix it up, put some

  pineapple chunks in there, called it pink salad.

  It was usually pink, even if it was green.

  We called it pink salad. But I was like, well, I, I love

  cottage cheese. I love cottage cheese and you

  can get non fat cottage cheese, right?

  So I got that. And then I discovered if I mix

  in non fat Greek yogurt to the cottage cheese with just a

  It tastes like my mom's pink salad and it's delicious and I

  love it. So I do 200 grams of the cottage

  gelatin. And then I put in a full serving

  of chia seeds, which is 36 grams of chia seeds, which adds tons

  of fiber. And I, and you know, it, it

  takes on the moisture and I, and I like it.

  It kind of reminds me of having like strawberries in there

  because of the crispy crunchy. Plus it has that kind of citric
