Transcript
- 0:00Constance Lavonice: Have you ever asked someone for help?
- 0:03Constance Lavonice: Maybe on the job, a college class, someone who has success in an area you're trying to get into, and you ask them for assistance.
- 0:15Constance Lavonice: Either they don't have the time or give you assistance, but it's incomplete.
- 0:22Constance Lavonice: They leave out important details.
- 0:25Constance Lavonice: You figure it out over time, but it would have helped if the person you asked was more forthcoming.
- 0:34Constance Lavonice: If you're in the process of pursuing a life or career goal, don't be afraid to assist someone else along the way.
- 0:45Constance Lavonice: And if you have accomplished that goal, reach back and help someone accomplish theirs, because someone else's accomplishment or success doesn't diminish yours, it actually complements it.
- 1:01Constance Lavonice: You're listening to Whole Heart Conversations, a podcast especially for women to receive biblical encouragement that fosters resilience through the practical application of God's Word.
- 1:18Constance Lavonice: I'm your host, Constance Lavonice.
- 1:22Constance Lavonice: It may seem counterintuitive to give when you're trying to get, especially in the area of accomplishments and career success.
- 1:34Constance Lavonice: It's counter-cultural, but it's a spiritual reality.
- 1:40Constance Lavonice: The law of sowing and reaping.
- 1:44Constance Lavonice: It's like the farmer planting a seed, knowing that at a later time he's going to reap a harvest, reaping what he sows later than he sows more than he sows.
- 2:00Constance Lavonice: It's the same principle that works in our lives.
- 2:05Constance Lavonice: When we give to others the same way we would have others give to us, it builds trust, relationships, opportunities, connections, and it enhances our own reputation.
- 2:24Constance Lavonice: I've never had a problem assisting a younger therapist or someone starting a new private practice with anything that I've learned on my journey.
- 2:37Constance Lavonice: In fact, I give them everything that I can think of that I've received to help facilitate their success.
- 2:48Constance Lavonice: And their success has never hindered my success.
- 2:54Constance Lavonice: And I've never had a lack of clients or business.
- 3:00Constance Lavonice: And I continue to refer and use the connections that I've built over the years.
- 3:08Constance Lavonice: We don't have to be afraid to give to others.
- 3:14Constance Lavonice: Luke chapter 6, verse 38 says, give and it will be given to you.
- 3:21Constance Lavonice: Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.
- 3:30Constance Lavonice: For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
- 3:36Constance Lavonice: What measure do you use when you're given to others?
- 3:41Constance Lavonice: When they request your assistance?
- 3:44Constance Lavonice: When it's something that parallels your interest, your success, your accomplishments.
- 3:52Constance Lavonice: Do you place limits on it?
- 3:55Constance Lavonice: Or do you give fully and freely?
- 3:59Constance Lavonice: My encouragement for you this week is to give what you have.
- 4:06Constance Lavonice: Don't be afraid to help someone in their journey to success.
- 4:11Constance Lavonice: Allow God to use you in the lives of other people.
- 4:16Constance Lavonice: Pass on what you have fully and expect to reap a harvest.
- 4:25Constance Lavonice: And if this message has been helpful, please subscribe and share, and text the show a message to let me know what's on your heart.
