El Capitan and Corporal, by Norman Corwin
This is the radio play that started the Lawrence Theatre of the Air journey. El Capitan and the Corporal is an excellent example of Corwin's World War II era plays. A story of budding love, ignited by the urgency of the fight against Fascism in Europe. Part of the "Columbia Presents Corwin" series - original broadcast date is July 25th, 1944. This Lawrence Theatre of the Air version was recorded live in the F. Theodore Cloak Theatre on the Campus of Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin in 2002.
