- 1:07We've got some late breaking news.
- 1:09As I already said in the cold open, I'm just going to take us
- 1:12straight over to the KOLD Channel 13 News website out of
- 1:22Tucson. This this video at the top
- 1:25appears to be from last night. And this is an article that was
- 1:30published back on the 1st, but it was just updated 5 minutes
- 1:33ago. The dateline is Tucson 13 News
- 1:37received a new message regarding the Nancy Guthrie disappearance.
- 1:4213 News forwarded the message to law enforcement Friday afternoon
- 1:47and the Pima County Sheriff's Department quickly issued the
- 1:50following statement. Quote.
- 1:53The FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department are aware
- 1:56of the new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.
- 1:59Investigators are actively inspecting the inspecting the
- 2:04information provided in the message for its authenticity.
- 2:09The Pima County Sheriff's Department said everyone is
- 2:12still asked to call 88 Crime or 1800 Call FBI with any
- 2:19information, photos or videos connected to the case.
- 2:24The FBI said a $50,000 reward is being offered.
- 2:27We learned that yesterday for information leading to the
- 2:31recovery of Nancy Guthrie or an arrest in the case.
- 2:36I think they said an arrest and successful prosecution.
- 2:40Also on Friday, Senator Mark Kelly showed up at the Pima
- 2:44County Sheriff's Department headquarters and talked with 13
- 2:47News about the case. I'm sorry, I was about to say
- 2:51something so cynical. I was about to say something so
- 2:54cynical. I'm going to say it.
- 2:56You can always count on a politician to be right where the
- 2:59cameras are. But you know what?
- 3:00I have a lot of respect for Senator Kelly.
- 3:03Let's see what he had to say here to News 13.
- 3:06Hopefully you guys can hear this.
- 3:07OK, let me just turn up my system as high as it'll go.
- 3:10I've. Been doing a great job, I was in
- 3:13contact. With, that's as high as it'll
- 3:14go. About this, he has hundreds of
- 3:17his deputies investigating this case, working 24/7, you know, on
- 3:22this. If this case can be solved
- 3:25between the sheriff and the FBI, I've got tremendous confidence
- 3:30that they'll be able to look, figure this out and bring her
- 3:32home. Absolutely.
- 3:33And I mean, obviously we've also seen a lot of federal
- 3:35involvement with President Trump, even saying that the,
- 3:39the, the Guthrie family, the, the Sheriff's Department has the
- 3:42full force of the, of federal law enforcement.
- 3:45I mean, do you think that is the the right approach?
- 3:48Here 100% and then she's she's, you know, 84 years old, she's
- 3:54got health conditions. But regardless of that, you
- 3:57know, when somebody is kidnapped in, you know, this way, yeah, I
- 4:00want to see the FBI involved and I want to see the local law
- 4:03enforcement do everything they possibly can.
- 4:05And that's what we're seeing here.
- 4:06Well. Thank you so much.
- 4:09Thank you. Appreciate it would.
- 4:10You mind with you division we. Went to.
- 4:13Claudia, nice to meet. You, Claudia, It's my
- 4:14daughter's. Name.
- 4:15Oh, really? OK, so Senator Kelly's there.
- 4:18He's just basically saying that he has utmost confidence in the
- 4:23sheriff and in the FBI. Now, one of the one of the
- 4:30things that came up early on and my coverage of this, it probably
- 4:35happened elsewhere too. I'm I'm sure it did.
- 4:38Was the criticism or I, I guess the sentiment that would the FBI
- 4:46be involved if my mom was kidnapped?
- 4:49The answer to that question is yes.
- 4:53Yes, they would almost undoubtedly the FBI has field
- 4:59offices all over the fruited plain and they're they don't
- 5:04just, they don't just sit there waiting for federal crimes to
- 5:08happen. They one of their purposes is to
- 5:12assist with local law enforcement.
- 5:14So while this case is getting a lot of national attention, I, I
- 5:20mean, in my opinion, it's not because of the national
- 5:25attention that the FBI is involved.
- 5:28And I mean, other than just really, I guess admiring the
- 5:35Bureau for a couple of reasons. One, because my uncle was a, an
- 5:38agent and I always, I always held him up as some sort of
- 5:43hero. He was a, he was a special agent
- 5:46for his entire career. And, and I, I just love the FBI
- 5:51because of that. I also have known several FBI
- 5:55agents throughout my, my life, my adult life, and I've always
- 6:00been really, really impressed with the Bureau for doing what
- 6:06they do. So just a quick recap of the
- 6:08breaking news. 13 News in Tucson received a new message regarding
- 6:14the Nancy Guthrie disappearance. They forwarded the message to
- 6:18law enforcement Friday afternoon and the Pima County Sheriff's
- 6:21Department quickly issued the following statement.
- 6:24Quote. The FBI and Pima County
- 6:26Sheriff's Department are aware of the new message regarding
- 6:29Nancy Guthrie. Investigators are actively
- 6:32inspecting the information provided in the message for its
- 6:35authenticity, and they are asking anyone who may have
- 6:39photos, videos or information connected to the case to call 88
- 6:43Crime or 1800 call FBI now while while let me I want to just look
- 6:55up one other thing while we are while we're on the Internet.
- 7:07I have a terrible habit of looking at my fingers while I am
- 7:10typing. I just wanted to see if anything
- 7:12else had been posted to Savannah Guthrie's Instagram account.
- 7:18It appears not. You guys will remember that this
- 7:23was posted yesterday by Cameron Guthrie.
- 7:27Cameron Guthrie, I'm speaking for the Guthrie family.
- 7:30Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from
- 7:33you. We haven't heard anything
- 7:35directly. We need you to reach out and we
- 7:37need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward.
- 7:41But first we have to know that you have our mom.
- 7:43We went to talk to you and we are waiting for contact.
- 7:47So this was 23 hours ago. This happened while we were live
- 7:52streaming yesterday. And I mean, I don't think that
- 7:55it's too big of a stretch to imagine that after they put out
- 7:59this video, after they put out the previous video that that
- 8:03we've all watched. And then then of course, this
- 8:07video, maybe maybe it's not that big of a stretch to imagine that
- 8:13the the ransomers, the kidnappers sent a new message in
- 8:19to to 13 news to KOLD in Tucson. Now, what were the things that
- 8:26that he said? Well, we can watch it one more
- 8:28time. But basically they're like, we
- 8:30don't know that she's alive. We need proof of life.
- 8:35I think they said that in the other video and we have no way
- 8:38to talk to you. Hello, let's do it one more
- 8:41time. This is Cameron Guthrie.
- 8:42I'm speaking for the Guthrie family.
- 8:44Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from
- 8:48you. We haven't heard anything
- 8:49directly. We need you to reach out and we
- 8:52need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward.
- 8:56But first, we have to know that you have our mom.
- 8:58We want to talk to you and we are waiting for contact.
- 9:02OK, so there he said it in that one too.
- 9:05OK, we need to be able to talk to you and we need to know that
- 9:09you have our mom very, very, very fluid situation and and a
- 9:17scary one and a high stakes one as well.
- 9:21I have a couple of other pieces of information, a couple piece
- 9:25of media that I want to share with you guys, but I want to
- 9:30just check in to see where everybody is.
- 9:34Let's see. Bum bum, bum bum bum bum.
- 9:37Marietta, GA is here. Thank you very much.
- 9:41Marietta, Sunny San Jose is here.
- 9:48Austin, TX North Carolina Northeast Pennsylvania Wild
- 9:54wanderer. I we're going to get to this
- 9:56great comment. I'm I have the Harvey Levin
- 10:01video that we're going to that we're going to check out.
- 10:07Erie, PA is here. Eastern Kentucky, Eastern North
- 10:09Carolina, Colorado. The UK is in the house.
- 10:15San Bruno, CA, Jacksonville, FL, Wyoming, Jersey Shore, Texas,
- 10:21Southern Indiana, Terre Haute IN Lake or Fort Lauderdale or Fort
- 10:28Liquor Dale, Northwest Iowa, Kentucky, Kentucky, Texas,
- 10:33Virginia, so many New Zealand also in the house.
- 10:36So thank you very much for being here.
- 10:38OK, let me wrong button, Gavin. Wrong button.
- 10:43Let me go back to the comment from Wild Wanderer.
- 10:46Maybe we should start there. Yeah, also said there was either
- 10:55a time frame it would take to get Nancy back to us on the
- 10:58named multiple states she could be in.
- 11:00OK, I think what Wild Wanderer is talking about is a video that
- 11:05was published to TMZ. This I got from X their their X
- 11:11account. I think it's about fourish
- 11:16minutes, something like that. It's 5 1/2 minutes actually.
- 11:20So remember that TMZ and two other, a total of 3 two other
- 11:28news stations in the Tucson area received the the first ransom
- 11:36letter that we learned yesterday is a bona fide actual.
- 11:43Well, no, I shouldn't say it that way.
- 11:46The the letter is the same. All three media outlets received
- 11:50the same letter and that they're taking it seriously.
- 11:57The FBI agent in charge, special agent in charge, what was it
- 12:00Yankee or Yankee said that they have in their position is to
- 12:07advise and to assist the Guthrie family.
- 12:10But it is ultimately up to the Guthrie's to decide what it is
- 12:15that they are going to do when when faced with a possible
- 12:22ransom. Now, because TMZ is one that
- 12:26received the letter, I have not read the letter.
- 12:29I haven't seen any other place that has read the letter.
- 12:32And they have not published the letter.
- 12:35They've just talked about it. So here is Harvey Levin talking
- 12:39about the letter and some of the things that it said.
- 12:43This is the first letter. Now we have 2 right.
- 12:45Here we go I looked at this alleged ransom note 20 times
- 12:50last night and there was something that peaked my
- 12:52interest from the beginning and I believe now that there is a
- 12:59way of connecting the dots and that law enforcement has an area
- 13:03that they are most interested in in terms of where Nancy might
- 13:07be. If this letter is legit, and I
- 13:11say it for this reason, that obviously the person who took
- 13:17Nancy, if this is the person who wrote this ransom letter,
- 13:22they're demanding money and if they get the money, they're
- 13:25saying they will return her. That's obvious, right?
- 13:28Well, in the letter it says they would return her back to Tucson.
- 13:32So they also give a time frame of how long it would take after
- 13:37they received the money to return her to Tucson.
- 13:40So there's a time frame. Now, if you look at the time
- 13:44frame, then you say, well, you can draw a circle around Tucson
- 13:49to see how long maximum it would take to get her back there.
- 13:54And she's not going to. They're not going to fly her
- 13:57back because the last thing they're going to do is go to an
- 13:59airport where Nancy Guthrie shows ID.
- 14:02That's not going to happen. So clearly it would be driving,
- 14:06and they're not going to drive at 100 miles an hour because if
- 14:10they get stopped for speeding, it's over.
- 14:13So they're going to go around the speed limit.
- 14:15So let's say that if this letter is legit, they would travel at
- 14:21about 60 miles an hour. So based on this time frame in
- 14:27the letter and the fact that she would be returned back to
- 14:30Tucson, here's the way it looks. If you look, this is Tucson
- 14:35right here. If you look at this red circle,
- 14:39that is the radius of the maximum amount of time it would
- 14:45take to get her back to Tucson. All around this circle, it
- 14:49incorporates California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho.
- 14:56It incorporates Colorado, Wyoming, even Mexico, Texas, a
- 15:02slice of Kansas, and a slice of Oklahoma.
- 15:06Now that's a big area for sure, but it is not the full United
- 15:12States. It's not the world.
- 15:14At least it's a defined area. And again, if the letter is
- 15:19legitimate, then it would seem based on the amount of time
- 15:23maximum it would take to bring her back to Tucson, it's this
- 15:27area that I would think authorities are most interested
- 15:31in. And remember, they are looking
- 15:34for anybody who possibly has information on the whereabouts
- 15:39of Nancy Guthrie. So there's a $50,000 reward for
- 15:45information leading to her return.
- 15:48So I would think that this area is particularly interesting to
- 15:52them. Want to say a couple of other
- 15:55things. The letter, you know, people
- 15:59have been asking, does it seem like it's written by just a
- 16:01crazy person? And the answer is no.
- 16:05This letter was very well constructed.
- 16:09It had structure. It had a beginning, middle and
- 16:13end. It it, it was well done.
- 16:17I mean, if you took this letter to an English teacher and said,
- 16:20give me notes on structure, on grammar, you probably would get
- 16:24no notes back. It's done by somebody I believe
- 16:28who is educated and really spent time.
- 16:32This was not something that took 5 minutes to write.
- 16:36This was a well constructed letter.
- 16:40Final thing I want to say, and now this is opinion that it is
- 16:46interesting to me that we got this ransom letter, but also the
- 16:51other two media outlets that got the ransom letters were both
- 16:56located in Tucson. They were television stations in
- 16:59Tucson. So why would somebody who wrote
- 17:03a letter like this know about the local stations and send to
- 17:09the local stations if they have no connection to Tucson?
- 17:13It feels like there was a connection to Tucson with the
- 17:16person who wrote the letter. And you know, a lot of people
- 17:20are saying, well, it happened because Savannah Guthrie is rich
- 17:23and famous. Real quick, it feels that way
- 17:26too, that somebody is connected to Tucson because they said we'd
- 17:29bring her back to Tucson instead of saying we would bring her to
- 17:33Tucson. That that to me that feels a
- 17:37little more familiar. But let's continue with what
- 17:40Harvey is saying she is. But is it that somebody looked
- 17:46at Savannah Guthrie and said, let's find a relative?
- 17:49Or is it somebody who lives in the Tucson area and knows either
- 17:57knows Nancy Nancy Guthrie or knows of her and knows her
- 18:00famous daughter is Savannah Guthrie?
- 18:03And it hatches from that, it seems to me just based on where
- 18:07the letter went, that it's the latter.
- 18:10So the bottom line here, I know that the law enforcement has
- 18:15been saying they are desperate for clues and they clearly are.
- 18:18But just in terms of the people who might help, I think heads up
- 18:24in this area. OK, So that that is what Harvey
- 18:28Levin said it was earlier today on TMZ's X account.
- 18:32Now returning back to the subject at hand with the
- 18:38breaking news. This this one coming from
- 18:41arizonafamily.com says Arizona's Family sister station KOLD 13
- 18:47News in Tucson has received a second message that appears to
- 18:51be the same from the same persons previously claiming to
- 18:55have abducted Nancy Guthrie. Station staff received the
- 18:59message. This has a little bit more
- 19:00information. Received the message on Friday
- 19:03morning, which was sent to law enforcement along with the IP
- 19:07address. While it did not have the same
- 19:09IP address as the previous message, it appeared that the
- 19:13sender used the same type of secure server to hide their real
- 19:17IP address, also known as AVPN. Specific details are not being
- 19:22released out of respect for the family.
- 19:24However, the new note reportedly contains information that will
- 19:29prove to investigators that it is the same person or group who
- 19:33sent the first message earlier in the week.
- 19:36The Pima County Sheriff's Department released the
- 19:38following statement on Friday afternoon, which we have read
- 19:40twice, but I'm going to read one more time.
- 19:43The FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department are aware
- 19:46of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.
- 19:48Investigators are actively inspecting the information
- 19:51provided in the message for its authenticity.
- 19:54While this is 1 new piece of information, the FBI and Pima
- 19:58County Sheriff's Department are still asking anyone with tips to
- 20:02contact the FBI at 1800 Call FBI.
- 20:06The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for
- 20:11information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and or
- 20:15the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her
- 20:17disappearance. I want to talk a little bit
- 20:19about. The idea and we'll get to this,
- 20:23but the idea that there's likely more than one, at least in my
- 20:27opinion, I think, yeah. The latest message arrived a day
- 20:33after today show host Savannah Guthrie's brother Cameron
- 20:36renewed the family's plea for their mother's possible
- 20:38kidnapped or to contact them. We just watched that video.
- 20:41So yeah, that's that is. Oh, they're reporting that
- 20:50authorities made an arrest after one ransom note turned out to be
- 20:54fake. But I don't I don't think they
- 20:58said it was a note that turned out to be fake, but I might be
- 21:01wrong on that one. I know that there was an arrest
- 21:04for an imposter is what the FBI described them as.
- 21:08So it's a developing story. We will check back for updates.
- 21:12I just want to see it was updated 5 minutes ago.
- 21:16Let's see if, let's see what is new here.
- 21:24Shortly after 4:00 PM, the Pima County Sheriff's Department
- 21:26confirmed that they were conducting follow up at the
- 21:29Guthrie home and surrounding areas.
- 21:32Arizona's Family crews witnessed more law enforcement arriving
- 21:35shortly after word spread of the possible second ransom note.
- 21:40So they've they've updated that. See if there's anything else in
- 21:44there that has been updated. It doesn't look like it yet.
- 21:48Let me. Let's see.
- 21:55Let's see what they're reporting here.
- 21:57Just a second. Verily.
- 21:58Thoroughly. I'm Jamie Seretta, we are in day
- 22:01six in the search for 84 year old Nancy Guthrie in Southern
- 22:04Arizona. She is the mother of Today Show
- 22:06host Savannah Guthrie. We have just received moments
- 22:10ago new information from the FBI and Piedmont County Sheriff's
- 22:14Department about a new message regarding Nancy that our sisters
- 22:17station in Tucson received. Our Vanessa Risa is live in
- 22:21Tucson with the latest on this case.
- 22:23Vanessa, what do we know? Well, Jamie, this is very fluid
- 22:29information that is coming through, coming to us within the
- 22:32past 10 minutes. We are not going to release what
- 22:35was said in that message or any details out of respect for the
- 22:38Guthrie family. But we have been told that
- 22:40investigators are looking very thoroughly through this message
- 22:44to see if there is any validity behind it and any details that
- 22:48may help them for their search for 84 year old Nancy Guthrie.
- 22:53The search does continue, as does the concern as to her
- 22:57whereabouts. The Pima County Sheriff's
- 22:59Department yesterday holding a press conference saying that
- 23:02they are not going to be holding another one unless there is
- 23:06reason to believe that there is information that needs to get
- 23:09out to the public. I wonder if this will make them
- 23:12do another press conference. They are asking people to please
- 23:16send their sincerities, their regards, their condolences on
- 23:20social media because they have been inundated with calls to
- 23:24their non-emergency number. They say they need that number
- 23:27to be open just for the mere fact of there is important
- 23:31information that does. People, Does that mean people
- 23:33are calling in the Sheriff's Office with condolences?
- 23:36Don't do that, people. Don't do that.
- 23:39Come through now, We are here live in front of Nancy Guthrie's
- 23:43daughter's home. It's not too far away from
- 23:46Nancy's home and if you did not see the media out here, you
- 23:50would think it was any other day.
- 23:52That is very far from the truth and where we stand here on Day
- 23:566. As the search continues for
- 23:58Nancy Guthrie, we do know that she has medical conditions and
- 24:02she needs her medication. Investigators have been actively
- 24:05calling pharmacies to see if they can get any information
- 24:08that may give them any indication as to where she may
- 24:10be. Sheriff Chris Nano said that
- 24:12they are still holding out hope that she is still out there.
- 24:16Now, again, Pima County Sheriff's Department saying that
- 24:19they were not planning to hold a press conference today or a
- 24:22press briefing. But given the information that
- 24:25we've just received within the past 10 minutes, with the FBI
- 24:28and the Sheriff's Department receiving that note, that may
- 24:32soon change. This is Cameron Guthrie.
- 24:34I'm speaking for the Guthrie family.
- 24:36So, yeah, so that that is the breaking news.
- 24:40Let me check in. Let's bring up a picture of
- 24:42Nancy here. Guys, if you have any tips,
- 24:45tips, videos, photos, call, you know, call the 800, call FBI
- 24:53number, call the 88 crime number, call the Pima County
- 24:58Sheriff's Office. But if you're just calling to
- 25:00say you support them, you're behind them, you want what's
- 25:05best, you know, condolences to the family.
- 25:09Please don't call those numbers. Don't don't inundate those lines
- 25:13with those kinds of calls. If you have tips, definitely,
- 25:17definitely make those calls. Let me, let me take a moment
- 25:22here to just check in to see what you guys are saying.
- 25:25And I apologize if I miss anybody's comment.
- 25:29There are a lot of comments coming in and my system
- 25:31refreshes every once in a while. Wild Wanderer says the Catalina
- 25:37Foothills Association sent a letter to all the neighbors.
- 25:45Lynn Taylor. Why was no one notified
- 25:47immediately when the pacemaker was disconnected?
- 25:49Family hospital monitoring system, company, etcetera.
- 25:52I don't know how those work. I would have to talk to an
- 25:56expert on that. Keep in mind that it was the
- 25:59middle of the night. So, and, and I should point out,
- 26:03we don't know that nobody was notified immediately.
- 26:08There's just so much that they are withholding from us on
- 26:11purpose and for good reason that we don't know a lot of things.
- 26:16It's possible that people were notified.
- 26:19I do not know. Osaka, Japan.
- 26:22In the House. Colorado.
- 26:23Virginia. Albuquerque.
- 26:26Eastern Washington. Nyack, NY Kokomo IN central
- 26:30Ohio. Iceland is here.
- 26:33Camas WA Lakewood, Co Worst Worcester, Mass.
- 26:38Texas is here. Central Florida.
- 26:41Kannapolis. Downtown Buenos Aires.
- 26:43El Centro de Buenos Aires. No me.
- 26:46Vegas. Welcome.
- 26:48Glad you are here. Let's see what else we have.
- 26:53Kevin. I saw the Harvey Levin map look
- 26:55like 1000 mile radius. And you know, I was trying to
- 27:00figure that out myself. Just, I mean, it was a
- 27:05handwritten map, but that that works out to be 16 hours ish.
- 27:11He said it took sixth. They would drive 60 miles an
- 27:14hour, you know, so, OK, they're sick.
- 27:17They're within 16 hours, I guess, according to to Harvey
- 27:26Brian and posted a short video of the Sheriff's Department
- 27:28shutting down the road by Nancy's house and moving the
- 27:31media out just recently. I, I do really respect Brian and
- 27:40let me let me see if we can see that video real quick.
- 27:52Give me a moment while I Let's see, did he do it live?
- 28:09So something interesting is happening outside the house.
- 28:11So all of these sheriff's deputies showed up and they are
- 28:15now you see down there that they are closing off the road and
- 28:19they're making all the media leave this block.
- 28:22So we're not going to be able to be in front of the house
- 28:24anymore. They said this is for
- 28:26investigation reasons and. They wouldn't, by the way, the
- 28:31media would push back on this if because they have a right to be
- 28:37there unless it is being closed off for the investigation.
- 28:41If if the police are just like we just don't want you here, the
- 28:45media would would tell them to kick rocks.
- 28:47I can I can tell you this is a bit of a tangent is a tangent.
- 28:52Let's do a tangent. I, I once went to the scene of,
- 29:02of a death that ended up being self-inflicted.
- 29:05And as a, a member of the media, I was nowhere near the crime
- 29:10scene. I, I, well, I was nowhere inside
- 29:13the crime scene. I was near the crime scene and
- 29:15the police came and bullied me on that.
- 29:18And, and I challenged like, no, no, no, no.
- 29:22We have freedom of the press in this country.
- 29:24I can do whatever it is that I want.
- 29:26And they're like, no, you cannot be here then.
- 29:29And I said, then you need to arrest me.
- 29:31But I would call your captain or your chief before you do that.
- 29:36I'm not moving, right? And the media would not move if
- 29:40they felt like they had a right to be there.
- 29:44But if it is for investigative purposes, sure, they'll move
- 29:48them out. Power.
- 29:49So we don't know what they're about to do with the house, but
- 29:51they don't want the media in front of the house anymore.
- 29:55So basically everybody out here has been told to pack up and
- 30:00he's she's she's saying they need room.
- 30:02Hey guys, so some break. So something interesting is
- 30:05happening outside the house. So all of these sheriff's
- 30:07deputies showed up and they are now you see down there, they are
- 30:12closing off the road and they're making all the media leave this
- 30:17block. So we're not going to be able to
- 30:18be in front of the house anymore.
- 30:19They said this is for investigation reasons and we got
- 30:24the power. So we don't know what they're
- 30:26about to do with the house, but they don't want the media in
- 30:29front of the house anymore. So basically everybody out here
- 30:32has been told to pack up and he's she's she's saying they
- 30:38need room for their investigators cooperation.
- 30:41Very, very much. Oh, you bet.
- 30:48She said they need room for their investigators to do what
- 30:51they need to do. So something is about to happen
- 30:53out here from an investigative standpoint and we're all going
- 30:57to have to move. But it's interesting that they
- 30:59had the crime scene in the beginning, they took it down.
- 31:01They had another crime scene, they took it down, and now they
- 31:03are apparently going to be doing more out here.
- 31:06So something interesting. OK, good coverage, Mr. Anton.
- 31:10He he always does a terrific job.
- 31:13Let's let's bring up Nancy's photo again.
- 31:17Remember, if you have tips 1800 call FBI and or 88 crime New
- 31:24Jersey is here bringing Nancy home.
- 31:25This is sad and scary indeed. Chasing sunshine sure are some
- 31:32contradictions in the timeline of initial notice of Nancy
- 31:35missing time is ticking. Well, I think that the timeline
- 31:38is incomplete for sure. I was checking my notes from
- 31:43yesterday and there is a there is about a 45 minute time period
- 31:57from the time the first doorbell camera disconnects to the time
- 32:01the pacemaker disconnects. And and we're going to watch a
- 32:06video on that here in just a minute.
- 32:08But that that did strike me as like this doesn't seem like a
- 32:13regular breaking and entering or a smash and grab, right?
- 32:17Seems like somebody who will take their time know what
- 32:20they're doing. Yes, Miss Chiva's Dragon, 60
- 32:27miles an hour, 10 hours will be 600 miles indeed.
- 32:32Couple more here from Scotland. Some of the glasses on top of
- 32:39the blood droplets also, I had not noticed that.
- 32:45That does look like you're right.
- 32:47I can see that in the upper corner there some of the glass
- 32:51is there and see that see that right there?
- 33:01Well, maybe maybe it's a like a tumbleweed or you know, a piece
- 33:06of a, a dry piece of vegetation. I don't know.
- 33:10I do not know. A couple more comments before we
- 33:14go to the next thing here. I wonder if something in that
- 33:18second note to to KOLD made specific claims that only Nancy
- 33:26Guthrie would know. So they went back to the home to
- 33:28check on whatever was in the note that was received just
- 33:31today. Maybe that's exactly what
- 33:32they're doing. Andy Isham feels unwelcome here.
- 33:39Well, I don't know why. You're.
- 33:41You're welcome. Well put together letter.
- 33:46son-in-law is a teacher. OK, South Wales is in the house.
- 33:51Very cool, very cool. OK, so let me go to another
- 33:55video. This one is from Fox News.
- 33:57It was about, I don't know, 20 minutes long, but I have edited
- 34:01it so it's down to about 7 minutes.
- 34:07Fox News had on a retired New York City inspector who had some
- 34:13pretty good insights that I hadn't thought of.
- 34:17I mean, only somebody trained in law enforcement maybe would
- 34:20think of these things or, or people that have just been true
- 34:23crime aficionados for way longer than me.
- 34:26But I thought it was interesting.
- 34:27I wanted to share. Oh, you know what though, before
- 34:31we get into this, there has been the talk of the white van.
- 34:37I, I, I don't know that there's anything necessarily nefarious
- 34:41about the white van, but let's just read it because he's going
- 34:44to mention this here in just a minute.
- 34:47This, this is an article from last night.
- 34:50It was updated this morning. Nancy Guthrie's neighbor
- 34:53reported suspicious white van parked on block days before
- 34:56Nancy went missing. Neighbors of Nancy Guthrie
- 34:59reported spotting A suspicious white van blah, blah blah in the
- 35:01days before. Guthrie's neighbor Brett
- 35:03McIntyre told The Post on Thursday that he reported the
- 35:06unmarked Van de Peep to the police, who asked him basic
- 35:10questions about what he observed in the days leading up to the
- 35:13disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother.
- 35:15It was somewhere on that street. It was a white van, full size
- 35:18with no printing on the sides. It was parked on the streets of
- 35:20McIntyre, who lives across from Nancy.
- 35:22Normally people that are coming to work on your home will have a
- 35:25company vehicle or they're independent, something written
- 35:27on it. From now on when I'm going out
- 35:30and about, I'll have a paper and pen and record everything.
- 35:33So anyway, this neighbor reported seeing a an unmarked
- 35:37white van, full size van. I don't know as as a former IT
- 35:46guy who owned a company that performed IT services for mostly
- 35:53medical facilities. We just had white vans man.
- 35:59I didn't. I didn't have signage on all the
- 36:05vans all the time and with van life, there are lots of white
- 36:09vans out there. But anyway, they mentioned it,
- 36:12so I wanted to mention that. And then let's take a look at
- 36:15this video while I look to see if there's anything updated and
- 36:19let me know in the comments if you see any updates.
- 36:21Here we go. Fox News contributor, retired
- 36:24NYPD Inspector Paul Morrow, who is live in the Sheriff's
- 36:28Department over in Tucson. Paul, your reaction from what
- 36:32we've known when we find out overnight, what do you expect
- 36:35him to focus on today? Well, you know, one of the
- 36:40things that the sheriff said at that press conference yesterday
- 36:43is that they're not going to give any more press conferences
- 36:45unless they have something. I should say that this this was
- 36:48broadcast this morning. Concrete, he characterized where
- 36:52they are in the current stage of the investigation as the
- 36:56analysis phase. That is to say, they're waiting
- 36:58for data to come back and they're waiting for the analysis
- 37:02of the data that they have. That tells me that they're
- 37:05looking very hard at a lot of digital stuff.
- 37:07They probably, if I had a guest, have gotten into her phone by
- 37:11now. They probably have dumped some
- 37:13other stuff, maybe her Wi-Fi server.
- 37:15She has a computer in her house. They're looking for anomalies.
- 37:19And let's remember some something else, Brian, according
- 37:21to the timeline that we got yesterday, something that jumped
- 37:24out at me, there's a 41 minute gap from where you can probably
- 37:29say probably the intruder is in the house and then she leaves
- 37:35because that's when her pacemaker disconnects from that
- 37:37app. 41 minutes is a long time for an abduction.
- 37:41What was going on? Was this actually a burglary
- 37:43gone bad? Was somebody looking through the
- 37:45house and she woke up? It strikes me that 41 minutes, a
- 37:49potential digital footprint, that kind of thing, I think is
- 37:52what they're pulling out now. And we may not know for a few
- 37:54days at least. Yeah, Paul, it looks like the
- 37:57son-in-law was the last one to see her and he dropped her off.
- 38:03According to reports, they played games.
- 38:06Her daughter, who's also married to the, to the guy who dropped
- 38:09her off, they played games. They had dinner.
- 38:12He took his mother-in-law back home, dropped her off, watched
- 38:15her go in the house. Have they tracked his car?
- 38:17Have they been able to? Because I know in some some
- 38:19cases if it's a updated car, they can find the car through
- 38:23GPS if they tracked that. And also, where's her car?
- 38:27Did her car ever leave? And what do you know about this
- 38:30white van that was found the the neighbor saw a white van parked
- 38:33outside on the street that was unmarked?
- 38:38So, so far, we haven't heard any, excuse me any further about
- 38:41the white van relative to her car.
- 38:42My understanding is that it hadn't left.
- 38:45As we've heard, she had an Uber driver who had been driving her
- 38:48around at least in during the day of, and you have to suspect
- 38:52that that was a fairly regular thing.
- 38:54That's another digital thing that they're almost certainly
- 38:56going to be checking out. They can go to Uber, but they
- 38:59can also go to the credit card company.
- 39:00They should do financials. They should see if she's had any
- 39:03unusual pattern of payment to somebody.
- 39:05She was having some work done on the House, something like that
- 39:08relative to the brother in laws car because he was the last
- 39:11person. Yeah, most cars these days do
- 39:14have some version of a GPS. Remember the Alex Murdoch case?
- 39:18One of the things that sunk Alex Murdoch was that they were able
- 39:21to track the movement of the car where he said it had not been
- 39:25doing things he said he had not done.
- 39:27And so that was one of the pieces of evidence against him.
- 39:30I'm very sure that they will be going hard at that unless it's
- 39:33an older car, unless you're dealing with somebody who's
- 39:37very, very cyber savvy. But we don't know that the
- 39:39brothers, the suspected brother-in-law I should say, is
- 39:41a suspect in any way, shape or form here.
- 39:44This, this is reminding me, you know, one of the things that we
- 39:47haven't talked about very much is the idea of geofencing.
- 39:51What what happens in a geofence? And, and it's not like I am a
- 39:55cybersecurity expert. I only know about geos fencing
- 39:59in, in the context of of my business.
- 40:03But basically what and from reporting on crime, right,
- 40:08reporting from the courthouse. But basically what what they do
- 40:12is they put up a virtual fence around an area and then they
- 40:17look at as they do it as a way to filter out.
- 40:23Any digital evidence that did not go inside that particular
- 40:28area? And it can get granular, man.
- 40:30Sometimes it's a radius, sometimes it's based on, you
- 40:35know, cell towers and and like network connectivity devices.
- 40:43Sometimes they can get freaking granular and say, you know, and
- 40:47say like they put up a wall, a fence around and just tell me
- 40:51anybody who goes in that area. So by doing that, especially if
- 40:57they look back in the past, if people had cell phones and they
- 41:02came into the area and they were casing the joint, they were
- 41:05planning this and they came in and they hadn't been in there
- 41:08before and they hadn't been in there since.
- 41:10Or perhaps they went in that night or whatever.
- 41:14They're able to go through and figure out, OK, who has been in
- 41:18this area and do they have a reason to be in this area.
- 41:21That's what that's part of what he's talking about here.
- 41:24They are going to analysts are going to be going back and
- 41:28looking at so much digital forensic evidence to figure out
- 41:35which one here is not like the others, right?
- 41:37Which one does not belong. All right.
- 41:40I did look up the X account of KOLD and we have reported
- 41:45everything that we know so far. Nothing new has come out that
- 41:48I've seen so far. Very.
- 41:50Very. Clear.
- 41:51They're not ruling anyone in or they're ruling anybody out, and
- 41:55that's one of the issues here. They have to cast a very wide
- 41:57net. The problem I saw last night,
- 42:01yesterday, excuse me, that was very subtle, was that at one
- 42:03point, very casually, the sheriff said we're going to be
- 42:06putting up billboards around the county to try to get more tips
- 42:10and to sensitize people to the situation.
- 42:13You don't put up billboards if you feel that you're close right
- 42:15now. The real conundrum about that
- 42:17letter is that it provided no means of contact, contact with
- 42:21the perpetrators. I've done a lot of ransomware
- 42:23cases and they're always at least two pieces of software
- 42:27that are involved here, the malevolent software that
- 42:30penetrates the system and seizes it.
- 42:32But then there's a follow on piece of software that's used
- 42:35for clandestine communications, like a better term, safe
- 42:38communication, better way to put it, the perps know how to
- 42:41communicate so that it's completely untraceable.
- 42:44And that's a whole separate piece of computer wear, for lack
- 42:47of a better term. And in this case, it's not
- 42:50there. You also seem to have seem to
- 42:53have an English speaker. Now look, AI is awfully good.
- 42:56You know, AI can write. It sounds just like an English
- 42:59writer. So I don't know, you know, how
- 43:01much we can. Real quick Chase and Sunshine's
- 43:03comment. Why would she need to open the
- 43:07garage if not driving? That might just be the way that
- 43:10she enters the house. Like, not all of us go into the
- 43:14front door, right? A lot of people have little
- 43:18keypads or key fobs or whatever, and just opening up the garage
- 43:23door is the easiest way in the house.
- 43:24So for me, that didn't seem all that suspicious.
- 43:27How much weight we can put in that.
- 43:29But that said, assuming it is an English writer, the fact that
- 43:32it's well structured and everything else, to me, the fact
- 43:35that there's no way to get ahold of them because of course you're
- 43:38not going to pay until they give you the protocols for how to
- 43:41hand her back. Because you don't know who
- 43:43you're dealing with. And you only may have one shot
- 43:45at this. If you pay the whole ransom and
- 43:47then the real people come forward and you're out of money,
- 43:50you got a real problem. So I got to say I, I'm I also
- 43:54the real this positive thing here is what is in the letter,
- 43:56because there's been a lot of disparate reporting.
- 43:58What is in the letter that can serve as a proof of the fact
- 44:01that they were in that house? You know, is there this stuff
- 44:05about the floodlight, the watch? You know, remember there's
- 44:07images of her wearing the watch online.
- 44:09And that's one of the things I would be doing.
- 44:11LJ by the way, those images of her online.
- 44:14I've seen at least one of her wit Savannah, I would get my
- 44:17tech guys and hammer that website.
- 44:19Who's been hitting that website? Can you identify any out of
- 44:22country IPS that have been hitting that website?
- 44:25Somebody hitting it continuously recently, stuff like that to try
- 44:28to contextualize this letter to see if it's legit.
- 44:31Let me break in here. Wild one.
- 44:34Thank you very much for giving me this lead.
- 44:37Let me bring you over to NBC News's website.
- 44:40This is from 12 minutes ago. Police probing leads about a
- 44:44vehicle. Law enforcement officials in
- 44:48Arizona are searching for a vehicle or vehicles that may be
- 44:52connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation, NBC News has
- 44:57learned. A Circle K spokesperson told NBC
- 45:00News that law enforcement visited one of their stores on
- 45:03Oracle Rd. in Tucson after, quote, receiving a tip regarding
- 45:08a vehicle of interest. And our team has provided them
- 45:11access to the stores surveillance video close.
- 45:15Quote, officials haven't said if the vehicle or vehicles are
- 45:19definitely connected to any part of the crime or if that lead has
- 45:23since evaporated. That came in about what, 12
- 45:28minutes ago, 15 minutes ago. Let's see if anything else has
- 45:31come in since. And let me, I'm going to let's
- 45:36bring up Nancy Guthrie real quick.
- 45:38And let me just go to CNN. They're doing a pretty darn good
- 45:41job doing live updates. See if this is This is from
- 45:50three. Minutes ago.
- 45:51Authorities resumed search in Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood,
- 45:54sheriff says. The Pima County Sheriff's
- 45:58Department and the FBI are resuming searches of the home of
- 46:01Nancy Guthrie near Tucson, AZ and surrounding areas, according
- 46:05to the sheriff and a Community Association.
- 46:08The Catalina Foothills Association, where there's a new
- 46:11update We'll check in just a second, said it received notice
- 46:14that the Sheriff's Department and the FBI would resume
- 46:16searches in the area immediately, adding it was
- 46:20deeply shaken and heartbroken by Guthrie's apparent abduction in
- 46:23a letter to residents. Our heart goes out to her
- 46:26family. Catalina Foothills Association
- 46:28President Will Pugh wrote in the letter.
- 46:30Within an hour of the FBI and the Sheriff's Department
- 46:32announcing they are investigating the authenticity
- 46:35of a new message which goes to another another article about
- 46:42Guthrie, authorities arrived at her home and cordoned off the
- 46:44street, pushing everyone away from the premises.
- 46:47CN NS Ed Levendera reported from the scene.
- 46:50Authorities told CNN they were blocking off the area for
- 46:53investigative purposes without providing further details.
- 46:56And we saw Brian Anton's video on that less than a minute ago.
- 47:02CNN updates and says investigators will be closely
- 47:06evaluating what is written in this new message related to
- 47:09Nancy Guthrie to determine if it's real.
- 47:11CNN analysts say, OK, so it's their analyst.
- 47:15They're going to take their time to go through this note because
- 47:17they know everybody is waiting and anticipating what they're
- 47:20about to say and the whole world is going to know, said Mary
- 47:23Ellen O'Toole, a former senior FBI profiler.
- 47:26And the next steps, law enforcement needs to be very
- 47:28careful and very precise about what they say, O'Toole told Jake
- 47:33Tapper the FBI is handling investigating the new note.
- 47:37Pima County Sheriff's Chris Nanos said OK, so the FBI is
- 47:40doing that part of it. Local station at Kold, which was
- 47:44among the media outlets that received a separate note a few
- 47:47days ago about Guthrie, said it also received this new message.
- 47:51Not clear if the 2 letters are from the same person or people.
- 47:54The offender or offenders may think that sending messages
- 47:56through news outlets keeps them one step removed from being
- 47:59traced by law enforcement, said John Miller, CNN chief law
- 48:02enforcement and intelligence analyst.
- 48:05It could also be yet another fake from someone who read this
- 48:08in the news that KOLD has gotten these communications before.
- 48:11Miller said a man was charged with sending an illegitimate
- 48:15ransom threat to Guthrie's family members, officials said.
- 48:20OK. And I just want to see if
- 48:23anything new has come in on NBC yet.
- 48:26Now. Thank you very much, Wild
- 48:28Wanderer for that tip. I'll bring up a picture of Miss
- 48:33Guthrie again, see what you guys are saying.
- 48:40Yeah, I did see the kold. News account or the X account?
- 48:47I went over there, let me see if they've updated anything there
- 48:52since I looked the first time. So what the what the X account
- 48:59says is 13 News received the new note this morning.
- 49:04They sent the IP address where the note came from to law
- 49:06enforcement. It is not the same IP address as
- 49:09the initial note, but it appears the sender used the same type of
- 49:12secure server to hide their IP address, also known as AVPN.
- 49:16The new note contains something the senders seem to think will
- 49:19prove to investigators. They're the same people who sent
- 49:21the first note. Which leads me to believe that
- 49:26the Sheriff's Department or the sheriff's investigators all
- 49:30well, the investigators that are at the house right now probably
- 49:34are looking to see if they can verify that note I'm just going
- 49:41to check a couple of other things real quick to see if we
- 49:43see anything else coming in. Let's.
- 49:49See if there's. I want to see if anything has
- 49:53come from the Guthrie's at all. I've not seen not seeing
- 50:01anything else. OK, so let's let's finish the
- 50:05video that that we were playing over here.
- 50:11Here we go. Because without something that
- 50:13really tells. You she was in that house.
- 50:16There's no way you can pay this ransom because there's no way to
- 50:18confirm you're going to get her back.
- 50:21Yeah, I you know what conundrum? There, Brian and you.
- 50:23Know we were talking to Jesse about this last night what is
- 50:25the gamesmanship relative to who they contacted because you have
- 50:28that metric that you're talking about but then you have TMZ and
- 50:32the outlier here is obviously Savannah's network itself
- 50:36wouldn't that be who you contacted here I thought this is
- 50:40interesting why didn't. They why didn't they contact
- 50:43NBC? Savannah works for NBC.
- 50:45Why did they go to the local media and to TMZ?
- 50:48It's weird. Instead they went to TMZ.
- 50:50That argues somebody who? Maybe is not that familiar, at
- 50:53least with the national landscape.
- 50:55So, you know, there are elements of unsophistication in this
- 50:59thing that make you say, you know, even if it's somebody who
- 51:02is smart doesn't really seem to have their act together.
- 51:05Because let's say if the letter is real, why no protocols as I
- 51:09just outlined. But if the letter is not real,
- 51:12then where is whoever has her in order to get paid if this is in
- 51:17fact an abduction for ransom. So it there's a lot of sort of
- 51:20counterfactuals blowing through this that argue whoever did it
- 51:23is not very organized. And let's remember something
- 51:25else. Just in closing, I would argue
- 51:28that you almost certainly have more than one person.
- 51:30Is it possible it's one? Absolutely.
- 51:32But history show this. This part's really important,
- 51:35guys. Listen to this very, very
- 51:37carefully, not only for the abduction, but for.
- 51:41Keeping the person secreted because that is what you have to
- 51:44trade. I'm sorry to be so blunt.
- 51:46And so while somebody has to go out, do the communications, make
- 51:51sure that they're getting food, water, seeing what's being said,
- 51:54etcetera, communicating in a, in a way that can't be observed
- 51:57from the location where you're essentially hiding out, somebody
- 51:59else has to stay there and keep an eye on her.
- 52:02So almost always in these things, you have 2-3 people
- 52:05involved. And that's one of the reasons
- 52:07why I'm surprised the, the excuse me, the reward is not
- 52:10higher because you want to incentivize somebody who's
- 52:13around this thing to say, well, normally I would never give it
- 52:17up, but for half $1,000,000, I'll give them all up.
- 52:20And, you know, the nephew comes forward or something.
- 52:23A low reward here in my estimation.
- 52:25And it was only bumped yesterday.
- 52:26I'm I'm a bit surprised by that. Yeah, that that part surprised
- 52:30me too. But the the part that he was
- 52:31talking about where it's usually a team of people doing this,
- 52:37it's not just one person that can get away with this.
- 52:40It's usually A-Team. They have to secret the person
- 52:43away. They have to hide out.
- 52:45They have to make sure they're secure and then there has to be
- 52:48somebody that goes out and does the communicating and, you know,
- 52:52gets the necessities of life, water and food and so forth.
- 52:56It's very. And you know, the, the 41
- 53:01minutes, is that what it was from 1:47 AM to 2:28 PM?
- 53:09That's 28 + 13. Yeah, 41 minutes between when
- 53:16the doorbell Cam disconnected and the pacemaker disconnected
- 53:20from the phone that it just does not seem like a quick smash and
- 53:26grab does it seems like a a very calm, methodical pre planned
- 53:36thing. And what's what's crazy in my
- 53:39opinion on this stuff is this feels like a crime of the this
- 53:45feels like a Batman comic book crime, right?
- 53:48Something from the 1930's, the 1940s.
- 53:51It doesn't seem like something that happens in the 20 twenties.
- 53:56It feels like something that would happen 80 years ago to to
- 54:01kidnap somebody and hold them for ransom here in the United
- 54:05States is brash man. That just does not just doesn't
- 54:09seem to happen. See if there's anything else you
- 54:12guys want me to Nonna Rocks says in an age of AI, how do you show
- 54:19proof of life? Yeah, we asked this question
- 54:23yesterday and a lot of other lot of viewers had some really good
- 54:25ideas on this. But for example, every family
- 54:29should have a phrase that we all know that nobody else would know
- 54:33that would, that would be a signal of there's something
- 54:39wrong, right? You know, there would be 3
- 54:44things that only Nancy Guthrie might know.
- 54:50They're, they're, I think they're, those are the two that
- 54:52come to mind. But there are ways that you
- 54:54could, that you could show proof of life.
- 54:59Anna says. Could the choice of news
- 55:02networks hint to the age of the kidnapper or their lack of
- 55:06connectivity to the Internet? Well, they're using AVPN.
- 55:09They're using a secure server. So I think, I don't know.
- 55:15I don't maybe I think it's more, I think it's more that they're
- 55:23covering up who they are. Robin.
- 55:30Says I see comments. About the wealth of Savannah
- 55:32Guthrie and how her mom doesn't have such and such.
- 55:34My sister is wealthy and I wouldn't dream of asking for
- 55:37money to live differently ever. Hey, let's also remember that
- 55:42this little neighborhood that Nancy Guthrie lives in is a nice
- 55:47place that she moved into in the 90s.
- 55:50It's a nice home. It's it's a nice neighborhood.
- 55:54They're Big Lots. I think, I think miss miss Nancy
- 56:00Guthrie is doing just fine. It's doing just fine.
- 56:05And I, I remember when I was, when I was a young Warthog.
- 56:12No, we lived in Reno, NV and I was a limo driver.
- 56:17This was many, many years ago, during a time when boy, did we
- 56:22need to work hard for our living.
- 56:24And I picked up a guy from the FBO side of Reno, Tahoe National
- 56:30International. So it was the, the private
- 56:34airport side. He flew in on some beautiful
- 56:38Gulfstream or, or something. And I picked him up and I drove
- 56:42him out to Sparks, NV and waited for him while he made a visit to
- 56:49just a regular house. Really nice just, but you know,
- 56:53it was just, it was a nice place, but it was, it was a
- 56:56regular house. He came out and I took him back
- 56:59to his plane and on the, on the drive back to his plane, it
- 57:05turned out that he was the CEO of a major corporation that you
- 57:09would know, like a major national brand.
- 57:13And he just flew in to visit his dad.
- 57:16So, you know, a lot, a lot of people have those kinds of of
- 57:21relationships where and some people don't want to be taken,
- 57:26taken care of by their wealthy family members, right?
- 57:30Why give two deadlines right off the bat?
- 57:32I don't understand the two deadline thing.
- 57:35I don't understand the two deadline thing at all.
- 57:37And they didn't give me, they didn't give any of us enough
- 57:40information to really understand if it.
- 57:46Is a family member. Though they may know the phrase
- 57:48I indeed, indeed, indeed any. Codes could have been learned on
- 57:55day one. Possible Sharkey?
- 58:01Says you must have seen some things as a.
- 58:03Limo driver in Reno? Yes I did and before I was a
- 58:09limo driver I was a cab driver and boy did I see some things.
- 58:13See, in northern Nevada, it's well, in all of Nevada, County
- 58:18by county, prostitution is legal.
- 58:20And there are ranches, so-called ranches near Reno and took many
- 58:28a person out to those places. Georgia says it's probably
- 58:34easier to contact local stations.
- 58:36Big networks don't read all the emails they get.
- 58:39I'm amazed TMZ found it in all the junk mail.
- 58:41Interesting. Tina says Miss Guthrie lived in
- 58:45her house since the 90s. That's what I understand.
- 58:47Yeah. So 30 years she's.
- 58:50She's been there. So, yeah, guys, I, I, I want to
- 58:55stick with this and, and see if there are any other live updates
- 58:59that are going to come in. I, I don't feel like, like there
- 59:04are going to be tons of meaningful updates though.
- 59:07We've had some pretty big ones while we've been together.
- 59:11Nothing new on the vehicle from the Circle K since we looked at
- 59:16it. Nothing new on the letter or the
- 59:21OR the search. Now let's see.
- 59:25Let me just refresh this real quick.
- 59:28Yeah, it's everything is about the same.
- 59:32So why don't we to to finish out the day, finish out our time
- 59:38together. Let's get into three questions.
- 59:40It's three questions with Gavin Fish.
- 59:48How OK in the? Three questions segment, guys, I
- 59:52answer three of your questions. Questions for me.
- 59:56Sometimes when I have a guest on, I give the questions to the
- 59:59old guest. But you can send your questions
- 1:00:03to three questions at gavinfish.com.
- 1:00:05Just spell it out. Three questions at
- 1:00:06gavinfish.com. You can ask as many questions as
- 1:00:09you'd like and I promise that I will answer them question #1
- 1:00:15tonight. Asks would you share with us how
- 1:00:18long you've worked as a reporter and why you chose to?
- 1:00:20Do you have a specialty or are you a general assignment
- 1:00:24reporter? I have not worked as a reporter
- 1:00:28very long. At what happened is I started as
- 1:00:31a YouTube first in the true crime sphere, and then I reached
- 1:00:35out to a couple of publications here in Western Pennsylvania to
- 1:00:38see if they would be interested in me writing columns.
- 1:00:44About. About crime in our area.
- 1:00:47And one of them was like, no, you don't write in the AP style.
- 1:00:51No, thank you. And the other said, yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:54that sounds great. And would you be interested in
- 1:00:56writing other things? I can train you.
- 1:00:58And so that editor took me under his wing.
- 1:01:01Actually, those editors took me under their wings and taught me
- 1:01:06how to write in the AP format. Taught me, you know, I mean the
- 1:01:10last journalism class course. I took.
- 1:01:16Other than photojournalism, was in 6th grade and I did not do
- 1:01:22well. So yeah.
- 1:01:25So I think it's been about four years, something like that.
- 1:01:29I have been on the crime beat. These days I am more of a
- 1:01:33feature reporter, so I'm given stuff that requires a little
- 1:01:38more investigation and it's, it's been extremely enjoyable in
- 1:01:48our area. You know, the, the publication
- 1:01:52that passed on me actually announced this morning, I broke
- 1:01:57the news as a, as the feature reporter is the investigative
- 1:02:00guy. I broke the news yesterday but
- 1:02:03they announced today that they are folding basically at the end
- 1:02:08of next month. So the the publication that I
- 1:02:11landed at is the one that survives and is and is thriving.
- 1:02:15So I work for a company called EYT Media.
- 1:02:18We cover Clarion, Jefferson and Venango counties in western
- 1:02:24Pennsylvania. Question #2 have you researched
- 1:02:28using taken taking biotin supplements to help your hair
- 1:02:32grow and get to your goal? It gets poo pooed a lot but it
- 1:02:36really makes mine grow fast. I have not, no.
- 1:02:40I will do that now though, I tell you.
- 1:02:42Since I started my little journey of trying to be a
- 1:02:46healthier version of me, I have been taking all sorts of
- 1:02:50supplements and doing so responsibly and under the care
- 1:02:55and watchful eye of professionals.
- 1:02:59So I've been taking creatine, I've been taking potassium,
- 1:03:02magnesium, oh what it what are the other?
- 1:03:08Ones I can't. Remember.
- 1:03:09But no I have not been taking biotin supplements to grow my
- 1:03:13hair and if it can happen faster I'm all for it.
- 1:03:18I will take a look. Here's the thing though, I'm a
- 1:03:21Pansy. I only will do tasty gummies
- 1:03:27will not do disgusting pills because why are it's 2026?
- 1:03:34Why are we still taking disgusting pills for our
- 1:03:36vitamins when we can get in the form of a delightful and tasty
- 1:03:40gummy? I don't know, but I will look
- 1:03:43into it. Thank you very much.
- 1:03:44Question #3 tonight, is Kimberly ever just Kim?
- 1:03:49Kimberly is never just Kim and has not been just Kim since she
- 1:03:53was maybe 16 years old. She is Kimberly fact.
- 1:03:59We know that people don't really know her if they call her Kim if
- 1:04:04they like and we know that they haven't been paying attention,
- 1:04:09right. If there are people that we know
- 1:04:11and have known for 56789 years and they call my wife Kim, I
- 1:04:17know that they either don't care or they don't know us.
- 1:04:22And it's it's a huge signal that that they don't know us.
- 1:04:29She prefers Kimberly. When I met her, I asked her, do
- 1:04:33you prefer Kim, Kimberly, Kimmy, She said, Kimberly, you got it.
- 1:04:38And that is what I have called her ever since.
- 1:04:42By the same token, I never go by gaff ever.
- 1:04:47X Well, there are exceptions. My parents can call me whatever
- 1:04:50they want, right? And I have friends that are old
- 1:04:54friends that we have known each other since we were like little
- 1:04:59guys and gals. And it just tickles me when they
- 1:05:03call me Gav. But anybody else outside of
- 1:05:06maybe that half a dozen people, if somebody comes up and says,
- 1:05:11hey, Gav, I know that they're trying to be more familiar with
- 1:05:15me, but they are falling on their face.
- 1:05:20They're miserably failing by doing that.
- 1:05:24And we're not even all that formal.
- 1:05:27Kimberly and I are not formal people, but we are pretty darn
- 1:05:30formal about our names. It's Kimberly and Gavin.
- 1:05:33And I think I, I kind of became Gavin probably by the time I was
- 1:05:3811 or 12 and so. Even like.
- 1:05:43Like if I go back and find old letters from like girlfriends or
- 1:05:50crushes or whatever. Like I I found a mixtape
- 1:05:55recently that was that had a note from a girl that she was my
- 1:05:58girlfriend in 9th grade and boy was she amazing.
- 1:06:01She probably still is. I haven't talked to her in like
- 1:06:035 years. But anyway.
- 1:06:07And it says Gavin. It doesn't say Gav, but if I go
- 1:06:10back far or further there are a few.
- 1:06:15Folks that call. Me that call me Gavin, they
- 1:06:18still do and it tickles me. I like it.
- 1:06:20So those are our three questions.
- 1:06:23How about we get into some headlines?
- 1:06:25True. Crime.
- 1:06:34Headlines. Okey.
- 1:06:35Dokey, I've just. Got a couple of headlines for
- 1:06:38you that I want to bring you to finish out the day in the case
- 1:06:45of Anna Kepner. Boy, have we been trying to
- 1:06:47figure this one out. Teen suspect in Anna Kepner's
- 1:06:50cruise ship death in federal court in Miami is from NBC 6
- 1:06:56Written by Tony Pipotone or Pipotone, a 16 year old being
- 1:07:01investigated in the death of his step sister on a Carnival cruise
- 1:07:04ship last year. You guys remember Anna Kepner?
- 1:07:07Let me just bring up a photo. This Anna Kepner was strangled
- 1:07:13to death on a Carnival cruise line.
- 1:07:19What back in now I can't remember.
- 1:07:23Give me a second in November. Anyway, 16 year old being
- 1:07:30investigated in the death of his step sister on a Carnival cruise
- 1:07:34ship last year appeared before a federal judge in Miami on
- 1:07:37Friday. The 16 year old stepbrother of
- 1:07:40Anna Kepner appeared before a federal magistrate in a locked
- 1:07:44courtroom with his public defenders, prosecutors and US
- 1:07:47Marshals. The criminal docket for the
- 1:07:50Magistrate Judge revealed A sealed case was on his agenda
- 1:07:54and that case number remained sealed Friday afternoon, so any
- 1:07:58charges he may face have not been publicly released.
- 1:08:01The teen later walked to another courthouse where he went into a
- 1:08:05probation office where defendants are processed for
- 1:08:09pretrial release. There's a photo with his head
- 1:08:13down with his lawyer. One of his federal public
- 1:08:16defenders said they would have no comment.
- 1:08:19And then Kepner, 18, died on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship on
- 1:08:23November seventh while on vacation with her family.
- 1:08:26So that is an update there. This one, I, I try to say
- 1:08:29politics free, but this one caught my eye.
- 1:08:31Written by Kate Bird on the website of yours truly,
- 1:08:35crimecod.com, Kate wrote Dateline.
- 1:08:41Wilmington, DE New Castle County police arrested William
- 1:08:44Stevenson, the former husband of Jill Biden, on a first degree
- 1:08:48murder charge in connection with the death of his current wife.
- 1:08:52Doctor Jill dodged A proverbial and maybe literal bullet.
- 1:08:58Stevenson, 77, was taken into custody following a grand jury
- 1:09:02indictment. The charges stem from a December
- 1:09:0528th domestic dispute at a residence in the Wilmington
- 1:09:08area. According to NBC News, officers
- 1:09:11responding to the initial call found 64 year old Linda
- 1:09:15Stevenson unresponsive. So anyway, Doctor Jill Biden,
- 1:09:22her ex-husband, indicted for. Murder.
- 1:09:26And those are your headlines now.
- 1:09:35True crime headlines. For those of you who stick
- 1:09:38around to. The end I.
- 1:09:40Want to give you a preview. I've been working on a couple
- 1:09:45things to maybe add to the show. OK, so if you're not interested
- 1:09:51you don't have to stick around, but but a couple things, OK, you
- 1:09:57guys have been noticing I've been yawning lately, OK.
- 1:10:00And I asked Javi for a yawn button and I think it was Autumn
- 1:10:05who came up with the idea for this yawn button.
- 1:10:10Here, I'm going to show it to you.
- 1:10:10Ready. Here we go.
- 1:10:22Oh yes, so that is what I'm. Going well, that's what Javi is.
- 1:10:26That's the button Javi is going to push if ever I'm like.
- 1:10:42OK, we've got a couple of other. Things.
- 1:10:45Now I don't have a graphic for this one or these two, but tell
- 1:10:48me if you like these jingles. Here we go.
- 1:11:02we might use that for. Transition Music.
- 1:11:05If we ever need a transition out of everyone, here's one that's
- 1:11:07similar. Here we go.
- 1:11:23Yeah, that one, that one. Has a little bit better beat.
- 1:11:27So maybe maybe we will use that anytime we have, you know, a
- 1:11:35dill hole to talk about it or maybe.
- 1:11:36We need transmit. Transition music.
- 1:11:38OK, you know how I forget my words sometimes, right?
- 1:11:43I forget my words. Well, what happens if I forget
- 1:11:46my words? Harvey's got a button now.
- 1:12:13one more. I've got, I've got, well I've
- 1:12:15got 2 versions, but I'm not really satisfied with the
- 1:12:18graphics yet. This is for when Uncle Gavin
- 1:12:21needs to make an appearance. Here we go.
- 1:12:22Hi, kids. that one.
- 1:12:56I think that one's really good. You want to hear D Hole one more
- 1:13:00time? Here we go.
- 1:13:06It's a bop man. Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:13:17That's a good one. All right, guys, that's a good
- 1:13:20way for us to end out the the old week.
- 1:13:23Maybe if something happens tomorrow, we will come on back.
- 1:13:28But I do like to take my weekends off.
