- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:42hypnosis session all about releasing trauma from the past.
- 0:49And most of the client sessions that I do, I do over Zoom.
- 0:53I do them here in my studio. I'm here in northwest London and
- 0:58my clients are somewhere else in the world.
- 1:00And you might be surprised to know this, but most of my
- 1:02clients are no longer from the UK.
- 1:05They're from the United States, Australia, Canada, the United
- 1:09Emirates, all different parts of the world, and some of them are
- 1:12still in the UK. And this client session, you
- 1:14might notice that I'm not looking into the camera, I'm
- 1:17actually looking in this direction.
- 1:19And that's because the client was in my studio with me.
- 1:23They were london-based. They were able to actually come
- 1:26into my studio. And it's always good to work
- 1:28with clients directly in that way.
- 1:30And they had a very, very sad and traumatic past.
- 1:36Effectively, they considered themself an unwanted child that
- 1:41they were born and not wanted and passed around to different
- 1:45family members and almost rejected and seen as a problem.
- 1:50And that really affected them. And for a while they went off
- 1:54the rails getting into crime and drugs and those kind of things.
- 1:58But. They were now in a place where
- 2:00they really wanted to be an aspiring actor and not just an
- 2:04aspiring actor, a successful actor.
- 2:08So the reframe here in this session is to look at the pain
- 2:12and the rejection. And the sadness.
- 2:15Of their past, rather than being a problem, actually turning it
- 2:20into. A treasure trove.
- 2:22Of opportunities that for a competent actor would be a
- 2:26goldmine. Because they can.
- 2:28Feed upon those. Real, visceral moments to
- 2:31enhance their authenticity as an actor.
- 2:36The what? The people.
- 2:37That are hypnotherapists. That listen to this show, we'll
- 2:41also detect inner child work. And there's inner child work and
- 2:45also timeline work because we go back to certain memories and
- 2:49they get to be a resource to themselves that they never were,
- 2:52but also take resources from the past.
- 2:55So if you can resonate with the idea that you had an upsetting
- 2:58childhood or even just moments of pain or rejection or
- 3:02abandonment, you'll get some value from this.
- 3:04But obviously it was created for an individual client.
- 3:07It might be that you weren't treated unfairly as much as this
- 3:11client was. It might be that you don't want
- 3:13to be an actor. In which case, disregard any
- 3:17suggestions that don't quite fit.
- 3:19Hone into the ones that really connect and resonate for you.
- 3:22Because even if this hypnosis session is 50 or 60% relevant,
- 3:27that's better than no session at all, so long as you can
- 3:30disregard anything that isn't quite right for you.
- 3:34And the unconscious mind is pretty good at that.
- 3:36It's called selective attention. So if you're listening to the
- 3:39radio, for example, and there's a news article about something
- 3:42that doesn't relate to you, it's just background noise.
- 3:45But if the news article is something that is highly
- 3:47relevant to you, you pay attention.
- 3:49And that's called selective attention, Also called the
- 3:52cocktail party phenomenon, which comes from this idea that if
- 3:56you're in a cocktail party, if you're in this kind of busy
- 3:59party and you're in in in in depth conversation with someone
- 4:03in front of you and someone else in the room starts talking about
- 4:06your name, your attention will immediately switch to them.
- 4:09So just trust that you're unconscious, will absorb the
- 4:13sessions that and the messages that are relevant for you and
- 4:17ignore anything that is irrelevant.
- 4:20But if you do like the idea of having something.
- 4:22Created bespoke, tailored. Customized to you, there will be
- 4:27a link in the description where you can schedule that free
- 4:29consultation call to explore working with me.
- 4:32For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place.
- 4:34The kind of place where you're not going to be distracted or
- 4:37disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:08Take a deep breath in. As you breathe in, breathe in
- 5:13that feeling of calm relaxation and as you exhale, that's it.
- 5:18close your eyes, eyelids feeling heavier or relaxed, That's it.
- 5:26Breathing in, relaxation and exhaling tension.
- 5:34Each breath takes you into that place of calm, tranquility.
- 5:43That's it. Breathing in through your nose
- 5:48and feeling your diaphragm expand, but as you let go, feel
- 5:54like you're releasing echoes of unfairness, injustice.
- 6:05Feel it leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 6:12And I want you to think of a colour that would represent
- 6:18worthiness, make it glow. And just imagine breathing in
- 6:27that worthiness and through your nose and exhaling any
- 6:37unworthiness. Imagine a dark shadow, greys,
- 6:43darkness just leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 6:49Breathing in the worthiness and exhaling unworthiness.
- 6:56Consider this an emotional transfusion.
- 7:00Breathing in what you need and exhaling things that aren't
- 7:08yours anyway, just echoes of your past.
- 7:11That's it. Notice that the deeper you
- 7:16breathe, the more relaxed you feel, and the more relaxed you
- 7:23feel, the deeper you breathe and as your.
- 7:29Body relaxes. Your imagination awakens and I
- 7:37want you to imagine drifting back to a memory.
- 7:41Sunday afternoon, blue sky, sandy beach, and you can
- 7:48remember the temperature of the sea.
- 7:52You can remember feeling the sun on your skin.
- 7:57You can remember play, laughter, joy, and I want you to connect
- 8:05with a feeling of feeling. Feeling valuable, feeling safe,
- 8:14feeling relaxed. And I want you to imagine there
- 8:20is a place on that beach. A place where you can imagine
- 8:26drifting off into a dreamlike sleep.
- 8:31And maybe you could imagine a blanket on that beach, or
- 8:40perhaps a hammer between 2 trees.
- 8:44It doesn't need to have been there in reality, this is just
- 8:48your imagination. And now give yourself permission
- 8:53to have the whole beach just for you.
- 8:57No one else there but you. But you don't feel lonely or
- 9:03separated. You feel peaceful and connected
- 9:07to yourself. Imagine yourself becoming more
- 9:12and more comfortable in that place.
- 9:17Perhaps you can imagine hearing the gentle breaking of the waves
- 9:20on the shore, the breeze on your skin, the warmth of the
- 9:25sunshine. And very soon I will countdown
- 9:30from 12:50 and you will imagine drifting off into a dreamlike
- 9:37sleep there on that beach. But I want you to feel that
- 9:44you're on that beach not as a child, but as an adult. 10
- 9:52Eyelids feeling heavier. 9 Breathing in that worthiness,
- 9:58exhaling any unworthiness. 8 Loosen your jaw and seven, feel
- 10:05that relaxation ripple down into your neck and your shoulders.
- 10:10That's it. 7 becomes 6. Feel your arms feeling limp,
- 10:17loose and heavy. Six becomes 5 and just imagine
- 10:25your internal organs start to relax.
- 10:29Tiny muscles around your neck, your heart, your lungs, your
- 10:32stomach all relax deeply now. That's it.
- 10:38Taking you deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 10:47That's it. 5 becomes 4. Feel that relaxation shifting
- 10:53there into the gut because if the neck and the shoulders is
- 10:58where stress is stored, worries and anxiety normally there in
- 11:04the gut and just feel and the anxiety melting away, continuing
- 11:11to breathe in that colour of worthiness, like it's charging a
- 11:15battery of worthiness within. And then drifting down into your
- 11:20legs as four becomes three. Feel your legs limp, loose and
- 11:26heavy so your arms and legs now feel like the limbs of a puppet
- 11:30with no strings. Limp, loose, floppy, 2 going
- 11:37down into your ankles and then one from the tips of your toes
- 11:42all the way up to the top of your head and back down to the
- 11:46tips of your fingers. I want you to feel a sense of
- 11:51deep relaxation as you imagine drifting off into a dreamlike
- 11:58sleep where you're on the same beach but no longer in your
- 12:02body. Imagine standing beside
- 12:05yourself, seeing yourself fast asleep, and imagine lifting up
- 12:11an arm from your wrist and feeling how limp and loose that
- 12:14wrist is, letting go, seeing it flop back by your side.
- 12:21Consider your conscious mind fast asleep and your unconscious
- 12:25mind. They're on the beach and I want
- 12:30you to imagine discovering a weird shaped object.
- 12:38This is not a three-dimensional cube.
- 12:41It's a four dimensional cube. Some people call it a tesseract,
- 12:47some people call it a hypercube, an object that can't exist in a
- 12:53three-dimensional reality, but in the 4th dimension does exist.
- 12:59The key difference being that it's a fluid, dynamic shape and
- 13:04that it exists at every point in time.
- 13:10And I want you to imagine holding on to that tesseract and
- 13:18finding that it teleports you all the way back to a memory.
- 13:26You will arrive as you are your current age, and you will be
- 13:30invisible to anyone else at that time.
- 13:35And I want you to imagine going back to a memory where you see a
- 13:39younger version of you arriving in England for the very first
- 13:44time. Maybe there was nervousness on
- 13:49that young face of yours. Perhaps there was surprise at
- 13:55how cold or grey everything felt.
- 14:00And I want you to imagine seeing that child on their own in a
- 14:05room for the very first time, and what you can imagine
- 14:14observing that younger version of you alone in a new place.
- 14:20Let me know by nodding your head.
- 14:26You're invisible to that child now.
- 14:28Just observe them. Maybe they look confused,
- 14:32frightened, alone. And then imagine that you can
- 14:39now become visible to them, so they see you as you currently
- 14:45are, and they're shocked. Why is this adult in their room?
- 14:56But show them the Tesseract, this morphing, folding and
- 15:00unfolding shape. Tell them that this enables you
- 15:04to travel back in time and you are them from the future.
- 15:09Of course they're cynical. They don't believe you, but
- 15:13since you are them, you can prove it.
- 15:16And you can prove it by telling them a secret that only they
- 15:20know. They might be surprised that you
- 15:25know that secret, but you do. And once you've reassured them
- 15:31and they believe you that you are them from the future, let me
- 15:37know by nodding your head. I want you to just listen to
- 15:44this child. What are they worried about?
- 15:48What questions do they have? Just listen.
- 15:54I want you to tell this child you love them, You support them,
- 16:01you see them, give them the attention they crave.
- 16:07Ask them questions about what they like, what their plans are.
- 16:18And I want you to tell this young child what is to come
- 16:26because so many things happened that they weren't expecting,
- 16:32they weren't ready for. Tell them that they'll move
- 16:37around a lot, but it will give them resilience.
- 16:42Tell them that they will be treated unfairly, but that will
- 16:49give them perspective. Tell them that they will receive
- 16:55cruelty, but it will teach them compassion.
- 17:02They might be confused at first, but just say the words.
- 17:07Tell them that everything that happens one day will be
- 17:14treasure, will be valuable, will make their life wonderful.
- 17:28Now that younger version of you has a gift for you because there
- 17:32is a quality that you had back then that you now need.
- 17:38And you have something now that you didn't have back then that
- 17:42that younger version of you needs.
- 17:45And maybe it's a belief, a quality, a feeling and emotion.
- 17:53But consider this an exchange of gifts.
- 17:57The younger version of you has something you need.
- 18:01Now imagine seeing it as a glowing ball of energy, and
- 18:06imagine receiving that glowing ball of energy from that younger
- 18:10self, holding it to your chest and feeling it absorb into your
- 18:15body. And maybe you know what this
- 18:18resource, this belief is, and maybe you don't, but your
- 18:22unconscious does. And then give something to this
- 18:27younger version of you. And maybe it's self belief.
- 18:34Maybe it's hope, maybe it's confidence, or something else
- 18:41you decide, or just enable your unconscious to choose it for
- 18:47you. And imagine handing that younger
- 18:50version of you that glowing ball of energy, when they accept it
- 18:56and it absorbs into their chest, sees something shift in them
- 19:04that they are now better able to cope.
- 19:08They now know that they are seen, loved, and tell this
- 19:16younger version of you that they are wanted and needed.
- 19:21And then give them a hug. And not one of those informal
- 19:25hugs, but a hug that communicates safety, love,
- 19:30connection. And then say goodbye to that
- 19:36younger version of you, but see them with a different facial
- 19:41expression to how you arrived. Something about them has
- 19:45changed. Now they are more prepared.
- 19:55Hold on to your tesseract. See it moving?
- 19:58Shifting. Say goodbye to that younger
- 20:01version of yourself and now go forwards in time to a moment of
- 20:07unfairness. Someone else was treated
- 20:12differently to you and that wasn't right.
- 20:16And I want you to go back to that version of you.
- 20:21Perhaps they were crying, upset, angry and again see them when
- 20:28they're by themselves and reveal yourself to them.
- 20:34Only this time they recognize you from all those years before
- 20:39they recognize you. And you don't need to prove
- 20:42you're them from the future anymore.
- 20:46But just listen. Listen to the pain, the
- 20:52frustration, the sadness, and there's no need to excuse in.
- 21:00Tell them what they're feeling is real and justified and you
- 21:05understand it because you lived through it.
- 21:14I want you to be the father to that version of you that you
- 21:20never had in that way back then. See yourself like your own
- 21:26child. What would you say?
- 21:30What would you do to make them feel wanted, seen, important?
- 21:38And perhaps while there is laughter in a different part of
- 21:43the house, you're joking and laughing with them, playing a
- 21:49game, getting to know them, telling them funny stories that
- 21:55you can both remember sharing. And I want you to get a sense
- 22:03that that version of you perhaps is felt that they were an
- 22:09unwanted victim, passed around a hindrance, a burden.
- 22:19And you're there to tell them that they are not.
- 22:25They have value. I want you to explain Aikido to
- 22:30that younger version of you. Explain how someone smaller or
- 22:39weaker could use the force of someone bigger and stronger.
- 22:46And then tell them that life, life is going to throw punches
- 22:52and kicks at them. Injustice and unfairness.
- 22:57But there is a way to have all of that work for you.
- 23:06Tell this younger version of you that you will be a magnificent
- 23:12actor and all of these experiences will give you real
- 23:21emotions, real moments, real things to draw from that no one
- 23:30else can ever replicate. Their whole life, their whole
- 23:35childhood is an intense advanced method.
- 23:42Acting, drama, school. They are learning skills without
- 23:47even realizing it. And when they're older,
- 23:52something will click into place. So everything that's happened
- 23:57from their past then becomes resources that benefit them in
- 24:04the future, and there's nothing they need to do.
- 24:10All they need to do is to live life with hope that things will
- 24:15improve and a belief that they are destined to do something
- 24:22valuable and important. And if that younger version of
- 24:27you accepts that things will get better, that they are important,
- 24:34and they will do something meaningful, impactful, let me
- 24:39know by nodding your head. Give that younger version of you
- 24:44a hug, a healing hug. The kind of hug that they can
- 24:51think back again and again to know that they are loved, to
- 24:56know that they are seen, to know that they are important.
- 25:03That's it. Say goodbye to that version of
- 25:10you at whatever age you are. Then maybe 10/11/12, maybe a
- 25:15different age. And then I want you to go
- 25:21forwards in time, one final time.
- 25:23Maybe you're 15 and I want you to see yourself one day before
- 25:33you're about to experiment with a drug designed to help you
- 25:38escape. Reveal yourself to that
- 25:44adolescent version of you. Maybe that version of you is
- 25:48angry. Maybe they're jaded, maybe
- 25:55they're feeling something else, but when they see you again,
- 26:00they smile. You're the constant source of
- 26:05love, support, and acceptance. Tell them the pros and cons.
- 26:13Tell them that this will make them feel something they haven't
- 26:17felt for a while, but that it's an illusion.
- 26:23It's a substitute for happiness. It's a simulation for joy.
- 26:28It's not the real thing. Tell them that they can do
- 26:35whatever they need to do, but never forget they get to steer
- 26:41their life in the direction that they choose.
- 26:46They don't have to follow the script of anyone else.
- 26:51If people have low expectations for them, they can defy those
- 26:56expectations. They can live life on their
- 27:01terms. They are valuable, special,
- 27:05important, and everything they go through will teach them
- 27:12something valuable, something they can accept and earn.
- 27:20And one day all the difficulty they've gone through will all
- 27:26make sense again. Hug them, adolescent version of
- 27:35you. Let them know they are seeing
- 27:40they are important. And very quickly, take the
- 27:44perspective of the younger version of you feeling that
- 27:48love, that acknowledgement, that support, that acceptance.
- 27:57Feel it as if you were living it back then.
- 28:02And notice how much easier it is to feel optimistic, purposeful,
- 28:07hopeful, worthy. And then switch perspectives
- 28:15again. Be back in your adult self and
- 28:19this time take the tesseract to visit a future.
- 28:23I want you to see yourself a few months into an acting course.
- 28:31Maybe this is the thing that can unlock new doors, new skills,
- 28:38new abilities or new connections.
- 28:43And I want you to see there are two different pathways for you
- 28:48and you see them both. You can see that version of you
- 28:53as an adult now doing what they should be doing, but not doing
- 29:00it well, not being committed, not throwing themselves 100%
- 29:07into it. And follow that timeline and see
- 29:11where it leads. But then see what you could be
- 29:17doing, not what you should be doing.
- 29:22See a version of you with nothing to lose in a positive
- 29:27way. To go all in, to be liberated,
- 29:32to be free, to treat everything as an opportunity.
- 29:38See yourself brim with enthusiasm.
- 29:42See yourself as an Aikido master using all of your past, your
- 29:47pain, the unfairness, the injustice, the loneliness.
- 29:55See that version of you using it all.
- 29:59See yourself with the ability to harvest emotions from your past
- 30:06like a treasure trove and see how these two different
- 30:11trajectories take your life in different directions.
- 30:18And I want you to make a decision to either do what you
- 30:21should be doing or to do what you could be doing, and then
- 30:30step into whichever 1 feels more aligned with your future.
- 30:35And when you've done so, let me know.
- 30:38By nodding your head, you're now living that life.
- 30:43And imagine going three or four years into the future, and
- 30:48imagine a wonderful future where you're able to fully utilize
- 30:55your past to reward you in the present.
- 31:02It wasn't whether your past was good or bad.
- 31:05It's whether it's. Useful or not, and imagine
- 31:09putting your past to use in ways you could never comprehend.
- 31:17And if this feels a more aligned, empowered future, let
- 31:22me know by nodding your head and consider this planting a seed of
- 31:28an idea into one of infinite possibilities.
- 31:34But now your brain, your mind is focused on what subtle things
- 31:41can move your future closer. So.
- 31:43That it becomes. A destiny and not a possibility.
- 31:51Take the tesseract one last. Time and find.
- 31:55Yourself floating all. The way back to a beach in
- 31:58Sierra Leone by the. Water and see.
- 32:02A version of you fast asleep there on the beach.
- 32:05Step into that version of you and feel that there is a ripple
- 32:12from the future to the past and back again.
- 32:15Updating so when you think. About your past.
- 32:19You find the utility, the treasure in the past.
- 32:24How to harness it? In wonderful new ways.
- 32:30You were never unwanted. You were just underappreciated
- 32:36and. Now you are.
- 32:37Giving yourself the appreciation to make up for what?
- 32:43You didn't receive. As a child you're giving
- 32:46yourself the self belief. To make up for the lack.
- 32:51Of belief in you as a child. Feel that?
- 32:54Your present. Is now compensating.
- 32:59All of the lack of the past is now made-up in abundance in the
- 33:05present. Feel that.
- 33:08Imagine leaving place of relaxation and imagine.
- 33:14Wading into the. Water in the sea and imagine.
- 33:17Swimming. Into your future and arriving in
- 33:23the here and the now. So take a deep breath in through
- 33:26your nose and. Out through your.
- 33:29Nose just wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes as you connect
- 33:33and calibrate into the here and the now as I now.
- 33:37Count from 1:00. To 10 to awaken you.
- 33:41You will awaken with a new level of enthusiasm, passion and
- 33:45conviction that you matter and you have everything you need to
- 33:52do what needs to be done to gravitate towards a wonderful
- 33:59destiny. Starting to count 123 Waking up
- 34:05456. More alert 7-8 Open your eyes.
- 34:08Open your eyes 910. Wide awake, Wide awake.
- 34:13Wide awake. Thank you so much for.
