- 0:05Speaker 1: Apogee production.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Scary creepy stories, and we've actually asked you guys to
- 0:15Speaker 2: send in yours. I've got one I want to share.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You've got one as far.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I've got some from growing up.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Let's get into it. Yeah, let's go.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Basically, my grandparents have owned the house for over forty
- 0:25Speaker 4: years now. The house is about one hundred and ten
- 0:28Speaker 4: years old. During their time living there, my great grandmother
- 0:31Speaker 4: passed away on the front step. Exactly three days later.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, her dog died on that same step.
- 0:40Speaker 3: What.
- 0:41Speaker 4: A couple of years later, my uncle passed away from
- 0:44Speaker 4: cancer three days after he's passing. The cat everyone called
- 0:47Speaker 4: his passed away on the same step as my great
- 0:51Speaker 4: grandmother and her dog.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I've got full goosebumps.
- 0:53Speaker 3: What the hell? Wow?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Going on?
- 0:56Speaker 4: Thirty years later, a number of other pets have passed
- 0:58Speaker 4: away on this same step. For years and years, we
- 1:01Speaker 4: have never used these steps because of what happened. Now,
- 1:04Speaker 4: for certain reasons, we have to use these steps. But
- 1:06Speaker 4: the creepy part is that every time a new person
- 1:09Speaker 4: walks up the one specific step, they describe a cold
- 1:12Speaker 4: feeling and get goosebumps.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Oh man, oh, I'd be ripping it. Down and build.
- 1:18Speaker 3: It's really creepy.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Ay, that's really really creepy.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Some things there's just like no answer form, like the
- 1:24Speaker 4: way some things happened in the world.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Hay, Oh my gosh, I'll tell one of mine. I've
- 1:28Speaker 3: got a couple. I remember.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I was at my girlfriend's house. I must have been
- 1:31Speaker 2: about sixteen. I'd nearly got my license and I was
- 1:34Speaker 2: borrowing her mum's car to go home and get some clothes.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I was going to stay the night, and she's got
- 1:38Speaker 2: a really long driveway. Now, as I turned around, because
- 1:42Speaker 2: I didn't have reverse cameras, turned around to reverse, I
- 1:46Speaker 2: saw a ghost like figure and it was a girl
- 1:50Speaker 2: with long, dark hair. The hair was like past her
- 1:53Speaker 2: bum just standing in the middle of the driveway, and
- 1:55Speaker 2: I slammed the brakes on screened the whole family.
- 1:58Speaker 3: That were home came down.
- 1:59Speaker 2: So it's like, what happened? I had to explain what happened.
- 2:02Speaker 2: There was a fourteen year old girl that had passed
- 2:04Speaker 2: away in the house next store.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Like many and many years ago. The next one neighbor, did.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You ever see photos of her?
- 2:11Speaker 3: See if it was like what?
- 2:12Speaker 2: I didn't see photos, but they said it was a
- 2:15Speaker 2: teenage girl that had passed. I can still vividly see
- 2:18Speaker 2: what she looked like. Oh that is she had a
- 2:20Speaker 2: long dress on, long dark hair, and it was just
- 2:22Speaker 2: like almost like a whitish darkest shadow.
- 2:25Speaker 3: It was so creepy.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That was my first like proper encounter with what I
- 2:29Speaker 2: think was a ghost.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 2:31Speaker 4: There's nothing in that moment like just the amount of scarcity,
- 2:35Speaker 4: feel shock.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I'm not actually scared of ghosts like your spirits, but
- 2:41Speaker 2: I was just like, whoa, I've just never seen one before.
- 2:43Speaker 3: It was crazy. I don't think they could hurt you.
- 2:45Speaker 4: But my mum and dad have got a lot of
- 2:48Speaker 4: stories basically growing up, my dad's father collected a lot
- 2:52Speaker 4: of antiques. That was what he did, so we had
- 2:54Speaker 4: all old antiques like old grandfather clocks.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Or creepy stuff everywhere.
- 3:00Speaker 4: And then as well, like my dad when my grandfather
- 3:02Speaker 4: passed away, took a fair few.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Of his antiques to our house.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Baby.
- 3:06Speaker 4: It was insane, like you would wake up in the
- 3:09Speaker 4: night and you would hear footsteps outside your room. So
- 3:11Speaker 4: my grandfather wore big like the metal steel cap boots
- 3:15Speaker 4: all the time. It's fully wore, yeah, so you'd hear
- 3:17Speaker 4: them and then it would just stop at your bedroom
- 3:19Speaker 4: and you'd just be looking there's nothing there, And then
- 3:21Speaker 4: like you'd walk out and the night cupboard doors would
- 3:23Speaker 4: be open, there'd be spoons on the table, draws open.
- 3:26Speaker 1: It was a nightly thing.
- 3:27Speaker 4: It happened regularly at my house at Arundle that we
- 3:30Speaker 4: lived at. It was so bizarre, and my mom even
- 3:33Speaker 4: one day has had like different encounters where she's been
- 3:36Speaker 4: like following thinking it was my dad from behind with
- 3:38Speaker 4: like a washy barket chatting to him, and then would
- 3:40Speaker 4: like turn around and then the person would be gone,
- 3:42Speaker 4: and my dad would walk through the opposite direction and
- 3:43Speaker 4: be like.
- 3:44Speaker 1: What are you doing you talking to And my mom
- 3:45Speaker 1: be like balled.
- 3:46Speaker 4: She was just like what There's been some weird situations
- 3:50Speaker 4: growing up in around all those old antigues.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I remember my nan, actually my pop passed away. On
- 3:57Speaker 2: his side of the bed, there was this like little lamp.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It looked like a candle, but he turned it on
- 4:02Speaker 2: and off. I might have been in the story wrong.
- 4:03Speaker 2: My Mom's gonna listen to this and get confirmation here,
- 4:06Speaker 2: but from memory, my Nan turned off this lamp and
- 4:10Speaker 2: then just kept turning back on. And I think we
- 4:13Speaker 2: felt like that was him like saying I'm still here. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 2: because she'd fully turned off and just would automatically turn
- 4:18Speaker 2: on at nighttime at the same time. Mum, please confirm
- 4:22Speaker 2: but from memory twenty years ago, yeah, yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So creepy crazy.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh my gosh, you've just prompted one more. That's
- 4:31Speaker 4: like pretty gnarly. So when my dad was young, he
- 4:33Speaker 4: would have been around like ten. His dad had an
- 4:35Speaker 4: old rocking chair and he's rocking back and forth in it,
- 4:38Speaker 4: and he's fallen asleep over the.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Edge like this is the rocking chair, like with his
- 4:41Speaker 1: head back.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and he had this big stabbing pain on the
- 4:45Speaker 4: sides of his face at his temples, big stabbing pain.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Opened his eyes and there was an old creepy man
- 4:50Speaker 4: like over the edge looking at him. He could feel
- 4:52Speaker 4: his fingernails like digging in.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah, what I know. My mom and dad they did
- 4:57Speaker 1: widdie board.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Oh my.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Growing up, they had so many crazy encounters and things
- 5:01Speaker 4: that they have shared.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Creepy, so creep Wow.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I haven't experienced anything like that, like even you seeing that.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I've never seen anything myself. Yeah, I've heard footsteps and
- 5:12Speaker 4: stuff like that. I've seen weird things happen, but I
- 5:14Speaker 4: haven't actually encountered. Like, that's quite unique that you've actually
- 5:17Speaker 4: seen yeah something, Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Crazy all right. Next story.
- 5:23Speaker 2: In one house, I woke up during the night and
- 5:24Speaker 2: saw a family of ghosts, a mother, father, son, and
- 5:28Speaker 2: daughter just standing at the end of my bed. I
- 5:31Speaker 2: told my sister in the morning, and she went white,
- 5:34Speaker 2: and then told me that my other sister had said
- 5:36Speaker 2: that she had seen a family of ghosts in the
- 5:38Speaker 2: mirror a few days beforehand. Also in another house, my
- 5:42Speaker 2: sister got home from a boyfriend's house and I was
- 5:44Speaker 2: asleep in our room downstairs. When she pulled up, the
- 5:47Speaker 2: light was on, but when she got inside and into
- 5:49Speaker 2: our room it was off. Also, I was in the
- 5:52Speaker 2: shower once and had two towels.
- 5:53Speaker 3: On the rail.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I grabbed the closest one to wrap my hair up
- 5:56Speaker 2: so my hair wouldn't drip on everything, then went to
- 5:58Speaker 2: get the second one that was further away and had
- 6:00Speaker 2: it been moved over so it was closer to me.
- 6:03Speaker 2: We found out that the previous owner was a husband
- 6:05Speaker 2: had hung himself in the garage right next to our
- 6:07Speaker 2: bedroom and en suite.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Oh wow, it's a couple of creepy ones. You had
- 6:11Speaker 3: all at once.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Oh Haikiara and Ashley, I've got a scary ghost story
- 6:18Speaker 2: for your podcast. I'm not someone who gets frined easily,
- 6:20Speaker 2: but the story I'm about to share had myself and
- 6:23Speaker 2: partner move out of this house while still having to
- 6:25Speaker 2: pay rent on it for a month.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Wow.
- 6:27Speaker 2: After six months after we'd moved in, I started noticing
- 6:30Speaker 2: small things, such as something brushing past me while cooking dinner,
- 6:34Speaker 2: and just a feeling of general presence of someone and
- 6:36Speaker 2: hearing sounds, all of which I convinced myself was coincidence.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Then one night I woke up to a man grabbing
- 6:43Speaker 2: me around my stomach and ribs. My partner was asleep
- 6:46Speaker 2: next to me, and he woke up to the sound
- 6:47Speaker 2: of me screaming. There was no actual man there, but
- 6:51Speaker 2: what we could only assume was a ghost. We settled
- 6:54Speaker 2: down after a minute or so when we heard a
- 6:56Speaker 2: cracking type sound on the walls between ours and our
- 6:59Speaker 2: eighteen month old daughter's bedroom. She'd been fast asleep, but
- 7:03Speaker 2: seconds after the cracking sound the wall, she screamed, this
- 7:06Speaker 2: terrible screen like I'd never heard before. It was like
- 7:10Speaker 2: this man was grabbing her too. I quickly ran into
- 7:12Speaker 2: her room and brought it into our bed. This is
- 7:14Speaker 2: only one of the moments we encountered this ghost. We
- 7:17Speaker 2: moved out six weeks after this particular incident, and we've
- 7:20Speaker 2: had no issues since moving out.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Wow.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Scary and having a kid. That prompts one other story
- 7:28Speaker 2: that I had. I was playing I think it was
- 7:30Speaker 2: like hide and go Seek with a girlfriend at her
- 7:32Speaker 2: house and she was trying to find me and I
- 7:35Speaker 2: was up against this wall. I was up against a
- 7:37Speaker 2: wall and I felt a hand like grab my back,
- 7:40Speaker 2: but there was no way for someone to grab my
- 7:42Speaker 2: back because I was up against a wall.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And I turned around, thinking it was her. I remembered
- 7:47Speaker 2: I was against a wall and there's no one there.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I physically felt someone touch my back.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Wow, it was crazy.
- 7:53Speaker 4: It was young remembering things like that, Like, you know,
- 7:55Speaker 4: how much of an impact if you still remember it
- 7:58Speaker 4: so clearly?
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's nice, but your kids. Oh, I don't know
- 8:03Speaker 2: if anyone remembers if you followed me on Snapchat or
- 8:05Speaker 2: even YouTube back in the day.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I don't know if you followed back then.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I hate with a monotone.
- 8:11Speaker 3: He had a lady in the cor Yes, I forgot
- 8:14Speaker 3: about that.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And I watched We watched one of my old flogs
- 8:16Speaker 2: the other day and he literally was like explaining this
- 8:20Speaker 2: lady grabbing his knee and she was angry. It was crazy,
- 8:23Speaker 2: but I remember for ages he'd just be like ladies
- 8:25Speaker 2: in my cot, ladies in my cot. I remember Nat
- 8:28Speaker 2: came over and like saged it, and I got some
- 8:30Speaker 2: other lady to come in and like do some spiritual
- 8:33Speaker 2: I don't know what she did, but at that house
- 8:36Speaker 2: there was always a lady in his cot with him.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And we moved house, I never heard of it again.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Wow.
- 8:41Speaker 4: And they say that younger people are more open. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:45Speaker 4: I feel like it's one of those things are more
- 8:46Speaker 4: closed off you other more you don't.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Definitely that went on for years, the whole time in
- 8:50Speaker 2: that house from him like talking.
- 8:51Speaker 3: He would always talk about this lady in the cot.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Well.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Sometimes he would say she was angry, otherwise he would
- 8:56Speaker 2: just say the ladies there, like the ladies in the cot.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I have no idea who that is, because I don't
- 9:00Speaker 2: really have anyone close to me, like I had a
- 9:02Speaker 2: grand that past, but I wasn't super close with her.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I thinks she'd be like popping on.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Over maybe she's just watching over ye weird.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Hey.
- 9:10Speaker 2: When my little brother was about five I would have
- 9:12Speaker 2: been about eight, I remember him always having trouble sleeping
- 9:15Speaker 2: in his own room. He used to say that he
- 9:17Speaker 2: was scared. Mum told us that one night she was
- 9:19Speaker 2: checking on us all before she went to bed, my
- 9:22Speaker 2: brother was sitting up in his bed in the dark talking.
- 9:24Speaker 2: When Mom asked him who he was talking to, he said,
- 9:26Speaker 2: super casually, the girl at the end of my bed.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Mum was totally freaked out, but tried to play it
- 9:31Speaker 2: off as maybe he was asleep and dreaming. When she
- 9:33Speaker 2: asked him about it the next morning, he told her
- 9:36Speaker 2: all about the girl that sits at the end of
- 9:37Speaker 2: the bed and talks to him at night time. He's
- 9:39Speaker 2: twenty five now and doesn't seem to remember it. But
- 9:42Speaker 2: his old room is now my younger sister's room, and
- 9:44Speaker 2: he refuses to go in there alone, says it's creepy
- 9:47Speaker 2: and gives him weird vibes.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I can't believe how many people I have had like
- 9:53Speaker 4: usual encharacters. Yeah, okay, next one, oh me. My sister
- 9:58Speaker 4: and my best friend did a Ouiji board and we
- 10:02Speaker 4: had the entire dining table filled with spirit. One spirit
- 10:06Speaker 4: was saying she was my great Annie's friend and she
- 10:08Speaker 4: had been watching over my sister through her cancer. Later
- 10:11Speaker 4: my mum confirmed her name and her relationship, which matched
- 10:14Speaker 4: what the spirit said. Me and my sister have never
- 10:17Speaker 4: heard of her before.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Well, would you do it with you?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Bought, No, you wouldn't. No, say let's do it in
- 10:23Speaker 2: the hotel. She fuck that, Oh, because I how to
- 10:27Speaker 2: do it.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Well, you have to close it and stuff properly, otherwise
- 10:30Speaker 4: they follow you, they stay with you.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Many years ago, when my grandma passed away, I returned
- 10:35Speaker 2: to New Zealand with my dad and sisters for her funeral.
- 10:37Speaker 3: We traveled down.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Auckland to Hawk's Bay and arrived late in the evening
- 10:41Speaker 2: to the family home where she had passed and where
- 10:43Speaker 2: the rest of the family was staying. Before going into
- 10:45Speaker 2: the house, I was drawn to the backyard, where she
- 10:47Speaker 2: had a beautiful garden that was her pride and joy,
- 10:50Speaker 2: filled with roses, grapevines along the side of the fences,
- 10:53Speaker 2: a lemon tree, and every vegetable that you could think of.
- 10:55Speaker 2: This was my happy place whenever I visited. After a
- 10:58Speaker 2: while of taking in the feeling of being close with her,
- 11:00Speaker 2: my intuition was telling me to go into the garage.
- 11:03Speaker 2: It had a roller door at the front and an
- 11:04Speaker 2: open doorway on the right side. As I walked through
- 11:07Speaker 2: the side doorway, I was filled with a force I
- 11:09Speaker 2: couldn't explain other than a pushing feeling, as if someone
- 11:12Speaker 2: was literally walking through me as I walked through, then
- 11:15Speaker 2: an instant feeling of love, happiness, and peace. I know
- 11:18Speaker 2: that it was her way of letting me know that
- 11:20Speaker 2: she was at peace and she knew.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I was there.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Ever since that day, at random moments, I have two
- 11:24Speaker 2: swallows that will appear, and I know it's my mar
- 11:26Speaker 2: and Granddad keeping watching over me. Oh oh, that's beautiful,
- 11:30Speaker 2: that's cute.
- 11:32Speaker 4: I was sixteen and on work experience. I used to
- 11:35Speaker 4: work on one side of the train track and my
- 11:37Speaker 4: friends got a job at the other side of the
- 11:39Speaker 4: train tracks. I would meet them there for lunch on
- 11:41Speaker 4: their side each day. It was in a dodgy suburb
- 11:45Speaker 4: where the law courts were. I was walking back through
- 11:48Speaker 4: the park I usually walked through. It was so lovely,
- 11:51Speaker 4: but no one hardly walked there. As I looked up
- 11:54Speaker 4: out of nowhere, there was an old lady walking towards me.
- 11:57Speaker 1: She told me to turn back and walk with her
- 12:00Speaker 1: as there were two people hiding behind a tree.
- 12:03Speaker 4: So I walked back with her to go another When
- 12:05Speaker 4: we got back to the main road, we went our
- 12:07Speaker 4: separate ways. As I walked off, I turned around and
- 12:10Speaker 4: she was nowhere to be seen. To this day, I
- 12:13Speaker 4: think this.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Was one of my guardian angels or guides.
- 12:15Speaker 3: So it was a ghost, I'm guessing.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Yeah, so like walk the other way, So somebody's protecting her.
- 12:22Speaker 3: That's incredible, I know.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Wow, give me goosebumps all these stories.
- 12:26Speaker 2: My oldest brother married a beautiful Indigenous lady and her
- 12:29Speaker 2: family are very spiritual. I stayed at my sister in
- 12:31Speaker 2: law's mum's place for a night and heard some footsteps
- 12:34Speaker 2: coming up the hallway. I thought it was my niece
- 12:36Speaker 2: and nephew getting out of bed and running around as
- 12:38Speaker 2: they were toddlers, so I sat up and told them
- 12:40Speaker 2: to go back to bed. As I looked at the
- 12:41Speaker 2: doorway of the room I was in, I seen a
- 12:43Speaker 2: lady standing there in a white dressing gown. I'd never
- 12:46Speaker 2: seen her in my life. But I could also see
- 12:48Speaker 2: that she wasn't a full solid human. She was very flowy,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and faint. That's how I remember the girl.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Wow.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I knew right away it must have been a spirit,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and I was like, nope, ain't nobody got time for that.
- 12:58Speaker 2: So I got under the covers and continuously said please
- 13:01Speaker 2: go away, Please go away. I was totally freaking out.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I got up the next morning and told my brothers
- 13:06Speaker 2: mother in law what had happened. She asked me if
- 13:08Speaker 2: the lady was wearing a white dressing gown. I said, yes,
- 13:11Speaker 2: exactly what she was wearing. She said that it was
- 13:13Speaker 2: her mum and that I was staying in her mum's
- 13:15Speaker 2: old bedroom. I never slept in that bedroom again, but
- 13:18Speaker 2: the house has always terrified me, as I would always
- 13:20Speaker 2: hear footsteps in the hallway. And one day my nephew
- 13:23Speaker 2: woke up and said to his Auntie on his mom's side,
- 13:25Speaker 2: I saw a ghost last night. She told me her
- 13:27Speaker 2: name was Auntie Daphne. That was a great aunt of
- 13:30Speaker 2: his that he had never met or been told about before.
- 13:33Speaker 2: They had been murdered years and years before he was
- 13:35Speaker 2: even born.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Another time at my brother's house, him and his family
- 13:40Speaker 2: were watching a movie in their loungerom, which was separate
- 13:42Speaker 2: to the kitchen. They heard a big bang in the kitchen,
- 13:45Speaker 2: so my brother got up and went into the kitchen
- 13:47Speaker 2: to see a white board they had on the wall,
- 13:49Speaker 2: now on the floor on the other side of the room.
- 13:51Speaker 2: He was feeling really fed up with weird things going
- 13:53Speaker 2: on in the house, like banging on the walls and
- 13:55Speaker 2: now this, and he was kind of skeptical about spirits,
- 13:58Speaker 2: even though his wife is such a big believer and
- 14:00Speaker 2: did a lot of work with spirits and psychics. So
- 14:02Speaker 2: he said, I'm sick of you chicken shit. Spirit's banging
- 14:05Speaker 2: on our walls and being annoying and now throwing stuff
- 14:07Speaker 2: on our wall. You're nothing but chicken shit. You never
- 14:10Speaker 2: show your face. Then he left the kitchen came back
- 14:12Speaker 2: to the kitchen fifteen minutes later to find a picture
- 14:14Speaker 2: of a chicken head drawn in Nico pen huge on
- 14:18Speaker 2: his kitchen table. He was so spun out, went to
