Did you know that many pharmaceutical medicines are actually based on herbs? For instance, aspirin originally comes from a plant called white willow bark.

Today I interviewed Jane Barlow of Barlow Herbals. Jane’s dad, Max, was considered the OG (ask your kids) or the Godfather of plant-based medicine.

Herbal medicine has been around for at least 60,000 to 100,000 years, and maybe even longer. People have used plants for healing long before modern medicine.

I asked Jane which three herbs she would bring if she had to live on a deserted island. Her answer was surprising.
