- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:43Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:48based around the themes of self-care.
- 0:50Self. Love and self trust and I was
- 0:53working with a client where two key things had happened which
- 0:57had really knocked their ability to trust themself. 1 was a
- 1:02decision that they made, which in hindsight, to me looked like
- 1:06establishing a boundary where other people were asking and
- 1:09asking and asking with this element of expectation or
- 1:14entitlement rather than genuine appreciation.
- 1:18And their response was eventually to say no.
- 1:21And that would have been if for many people just considered
- 1:26assertive behavior. But the way in which they said
- 1:28it, it felt that it caused chaos and it damaged certain
- 1:32relationships. So they were dealing with the
- 1:34aftermath of being punished for having a boundary for deciding
- 1:39what they were and were not willing to do.
- 1:41But also they experienced quite a damaging injury that affected
- 1:46their ability to walk and run and those kind of things.
- 1:51So in this particular hypnosis session, it starts off using a,
- 1:58an induction in a place in Tasmania.
- 2:03I think it's the the Bay of Fire.
- 2:05And that was because this particular client had had a
- 2:09recent experience being there with a real feeling of self
- 2:13reflection and self connection. So it made sense to harness
- 2:16that. Plus it was a fresh memory for
- 2:19them. So it's a good ability to have
- 2:21one level of disassociation from their current situation.
- 2:27They wanted to have more confidence in their ability to
- 2:30kind of not question their ability to walk, particularly on
- 2:33uneven circumstances. So there is a metaphor of a
- 2:36mountain goat, particularly on these rocks.
- 2:39The sunset becomes the deepener. The sunrise becomes a way of
- 2:43looking at new opportunities and and new possibilities for them.
- 2:48There's a couple of metaphors here that link to this idea of
- 2:51boundaries and self love and that in all honesty, if you're
- 2:57always putting other people in front of your own needs, at some
- 3:02level, that's going to lead to a feeling of depletion that you've
- 3:06got nothing else to give. And that's why self love is not
- 3:09selfish because the more that you have within yourself, the
- 3:13more you're able to give other people.
- 3:16So there's a few things going on in this session.
- 3:19It does use a lot of metaphors and it does use a lot of very
- 3:23kind of, let's say, broad themes rather than specific
- 3:27suggestions. So I think anyone that is a bit
- 3:30of a people pleaser, a bit of a giver, your nature is to be
- 3:35empathetic and a giver. You might be on the receiving
- 3:40end of people exploiting that and taking advantage of that, in
- 3:43which case I think you'll get some value from this particular
- 3:46session. At the same time, please be
- 3:49aware that this session was created for an individual.
- 3:52So some of the things that they did for self-care and
- 3:56rejuvenation like swimming in the sea, ice baths and chanting
- 4:01might not be your things. For you, it might be treating
- 4:04yourself to a nice meal or going for a massage or something else
- 4:09that you like to do. So as always, treat it like a
- 4:14buffet. Like take the things that are
- 4:15relevant for you, leave behind anything that are irrelevant
- 4:20and, and just kind of utilize what's beneficial.
- 4:25And this is how I tend to deal with a lot of, I read a lot of
- 4:29personal development books, but I'm not reading every single
- 4:32page thinking I have to apply that, apply that, apply that.
- 4:36I'm being very selective and discerning.
- 4:40And if there is one principle or insight that is helpful for me,
- 4:44I'll take it. And if it isn't, I'll leave it
- 4:46behind. And I encourage you to do the
- 4:47same thing from a hypnotic perspective that you don't have
- 4:51to accept every suggestion. Allow your unconscious to
- 4:55utilize what's beneficial and disregard those which aren't
- 5:00beneficial. And if you do like the idea of a
- 5:03bespoke session created for you and your individual
- 5:07circumstances, there will be a link in the show notes where you
- 5:09can schedule that free consultation call to explore
- 5:11working with me. Because then the entire session
- 5:14is for you. In which case it could be 100%
- 5:16relevant for you rather than maybe sixty 7080% relevant for
- 5:20you. And if that appeals, then click
- 5:22the link in the show notes. For now though, find a quiet,
- 5:25comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 5:27Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 6:03you breathe in, just breathe in that slow, long, relaxing
- 6:09breath. And as you exhale, feel a
- 6:16wonderful sense of relaxation as tension leaves your body in that
- 6:26outward breath, breathing in that relaxation through your
- 6:32nose and exhaling tension through your nose, each breath
- 6:43enabling you to feel deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 7:02And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 7:08And the more relaxed you become, the even deeper you can breathe
- 7:16as you allow your lungs to do the breathing for you.
- 7:20No need to force inward or outward.
- 7:27Feel that the breathing is happening all by itself,
- 7:34enabling you to feel deeper and more relaxed.
- 7:42And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 7:56I want to use the power of your imagination and imagine yourself
- 8:07discovering the incredible scenery of the Bay of Fires in
- 8:16Tasmania. Imagine seeing the rugged
- 8:25landscape, the unique colours and shades of the rock
- 8:32formations and maybe you can see the varieties of trees and
- 8:41plants around the Bay. I want you to get a sense that
- 8:49you feel peaceful here in the Bay.
- 8:55You feel a deep feeling of connection with yourself, and
- 9:07maybe you can hear gentle waves lapping against the rocks, or
- 9:16maybe a breeze through the plants or the grass.
- 9:21But each sound, each breath helps you to feel even more
- 9:27grounded than the last, more present and more at ease.
- 9:45As you imagine exploring the Bay, imagine seeing the unique
- 9:52colour of the rocks by the shore.
- 10:02Maybe there's a vibrant orange connected to the rocks that
- 10:07comes from the unique plants and animals that attach to the
- 10:16rocks. I want you to imagine as you
- 10:27place 1 foot on one of those rocks, that your foot is
- 10:34adapting to the shape of the rock.
- 10:41If the rock is flat, you put more weight on your heel.
- 10:50If it's slanted, notice how your centre of gravity changes to
- 10:56either move forwards or backwards as necessary, as you
- 11:02start to feel that you can trust your body's ability to adapt to
- 11:09the environment. I want you to get a sense that
- 11:17here in the Bay, it's afternoon, and I want you to get a sense
- 11:25that you can see a rock elevated above all the other rocks.
- 11:34It's calling you. It represents a challenge, but
- 11:41it also represents new perspectives.
- 11:47What if you get to see your life from a different vantage point
- 11:53When you're high up? I want you to get a sense.
- 12:02A combination of rocks and sand and other surfaces give you a
- 12:07pathway up to that high rock and as you begin to move across the
- 12:13rocks carefully but with full self assurance, just imagine you
- 12:21feel a certain as a wild mountain goat, each step upwards
- 12:31sure and purposeful, with your feet instinctively adjusting to
- 12:38the surfaces and slopes beneath you.
- 12:43Every step gives more information for your brain and
- 12:48your body to make the next step even more certain.
- 12:54Doubt is replaced with certainty as your body learns that it can
- 13:00trust your body's strength, mobility.
- 13:08Before long, you feel that you can effortlessly rise up, rock
- 13:17after rock, higher and higher, and notice how confident you
- 13:24feel in your movements when you trust your body to adapt.
- 13:32Step by step you climb higher, with the bays stretching out
- 13:38beneath you. Sound of the waves grows softer
- 13:43as you ascend, replaced by whispers of the wind because you
- 13:52are climbing towards a vantage point.
- 13:57And with every step, you feel lighter, freer, and stronger, as
- 14:03though you're leaving behind any feelings of being stuck,
- 14:09trapped, or blocked because that version of you wouldn't even be
- 14:16in this location. The version of you that is
- 14:21making this progress is not the old you, but an evolved you, A
- 14:30combination of you at your best but also you at your wisest.
- 14:37This perfect balance of wisdom, but also trust, energy and
- 14:44strength. I want you to imagine how good
- 14:57it feels to reach the top of the highest rock overlooking the
- 15:03Bay. Maybe feel like a lion in the
- 15:09wilderness, feeling that everything you see belongs to
- 15:17you. From this vantage point, you can
- 15:22see the sun beginning its descent towards the horizon.
- 15:30Did you start to imagine the colours of the sky have shifted
- 15:35from blue to breathtaking golden yellows, fiery oranges and soft
- 15:41purples blending together like a living painting?
- 15:49And this fantastic light and colours reflect off the water,
- 15:55creating shimmering patterns that dance and sparkle like a
- 16:00gift just for you. And as the sunsets feel yourself
- 16:11sinking even deeper into this peaceful, relaxed state, you
- 16:19still feel warm even as the sunsets.
- 16:24And with every moment the sun dips lower, you feel a growing
- 16:30sense of clarity and calm. I'll countdown from 5:00 to 1:00
- 16:36with each descending number as the sunsets feel that you are
- 16:42going deeper and deeper to that place where powerful change
- 16:50happens naturally. 5:00 The sun is getting closer to the
- 17:02horizon, and you feel deeply connected to the earth beneath
- 17:06you. 4 The light softens, and you feel your breath becoming
- 17:14even steadier. 3 The colours deepen, and you feel any
- 17:22lingering tension dissolving. 2 Feel that the Bay is bathed in
- 17:30twilight and you feel a deep stillness within you.
- 17:37And then one the sunsets completely, leaving behind a
- 17:42soft glow that fills your heart with warmth and peace.
- 17:51You feel safe on this high rock. Maybe start to see stars and the
- 17:58moon in the sky. Perhaps even imagine chanting a
- 18:05phrase or a rhythm that takes you even deeper into a unique
- 18:10connection with yourself. As you breathe in and out under
- 18:20the night sky in the Bay of Fires, a new image begins to
- 18:27form in your mind. A beautiful rose, vibrant and
- 18:35full of life. It's petals are soft and rich
- 18:39with colour. And maybe the petals represent a
- 18:45kind hearted nature, a sense of generosity.
- 18:52But this? Rose is not vulnerable.
- 18:55It has strong, sharp thorns, thorns that protect it from a
- 19:02harm. Imagine being the Rose and feel
- 19:10that these thorns represent your boundaries, your ability to say
- 19:17no when you need to, and the strength to stand firm when
- 19:24others might take advantage of your kindness.
- 19:32And you understand that the thorns are not there to keep
- 19:35people out, but to protect the Rose so it can continue to
- 19:41bloom. You realise that by saying no
- 19:46when needed, by having those boundaries, you are allowing
- 19:52yourself to thrive, to be the unique version of you you desire
- 20:00to be. To grow, to give even more when
- 20:06the time is right. A strong rose cannot pour its
- 20:12beauty into the world if it's trembled upon, and in the same
- 20:17way you cannot pour from an empty cup.
- 20:24These thorns, these boundaries, enable you to replenish what is
- 20:31good and pure and valuable within you, ensuring your rose
- 20:38is in full bloom and your cup is overflowing with what makes you
- 20:48uniquely you. So now imagine on that high rock
- 21:02in the Bay, holding a beautiful but empty cup.
- 21:10And maybe there was a time when your cup was empty, maybe
- 21:18lacking self love or your ability to give to others to
- 21:27pour into this. Cup you must first.
- 21:29Pour into yourself and think of all the ways you can replenish
- 21:37this cup. Travel experiences, swimming in
- 21:45the sea, chanting mantras or maybe taking an ice bath, but
- 21:55you feel invigorated and alive. Each act of self-care is a gift
- 22:02you give to yourself, a way of recharging your batteries and
- 22:09filling your cup to overflowing. And when your own cup is
- 22:18overflowing, you don't mind saying yes when you know it's
- 22:22appreciated because you have plenty to give.
- 22:29Imagine yourself embracing these moments of self love.
- 22:34Self love is not selfish, it's necessary.
- 22:41It's not selfish to eat and to sleep, because if you don't eat
- 22:46and sleep, you're in no position to do anything for anyone.
- 22:52So imagine yourself doing those things that are just for you,
- 22:58and they become the foundation that allows you to give your
- 23:03best to the world without depleting yourself.
- 23:10If a rose keeps giving a petal to everyone that asks, the Rose
- 23:16is no longer a rose. If a full cup.
- 23:21Keeps pouring for others without replenishing.
- 23:27The cup is empty, so feel the love you have for yourself, the
- 23:34love you have for nature flowing into your cup, filling it to the
- 23:40brim. And as your cup overflows, you
- 23:48feel a growing sense of momentum in your life and unstoppable
- 23:55energy propelling you forward, helping you break free from the
- 24:00past, free from feeling stark or trapped or empty.
- 24:14As you look out into the night sky, imagine your future, a
- 24:21future where you were living life on your terms.
- 24:26See yourself thriving, moving through your days with purpose
- 24:29and confidence, like a sure footed mountain goat.
- 24:34You feel momentum building with every step you take, as though
- 24:39the universe itself is supporting your journey, The
- 24:46future where you embrace your kind hearted nature, your
- 24:49generosity, but do so with clear boundaries because you have the
- 24:57confidence to say no when it's necessary.
- 25:01And you do so with kindness and respect, knowing that it's a way
- 25:07of protecting your energy and your well-being.
- 25:15Picture the joy in your life as you continue to grow, as you
- 25:20find balance between giving to others and giving to yourself.
- 25:26See yourself surrounded by love, by nature, by the things that
- 25:32fill your cup and keep you whole.
- 25:39Feel the pride in knowing that you are living as a beautiful,
- 25:46strong rose with petals that share kindness and thorns that
- 25:52protect your peace. You hold on to these images and
- 26:00feelings of momentum and self love, know that it is now a part
- 26:07of you, woven into your very fabric of your existence.
- 26:17And whenever you swim in the sea, chant your mantras, take an
- 26:22ice bath or just do something nice for yourself, you will feel
- 26:28this, the gift of self-care and self love returning to you,
- 26:34filling your cup once more as you stare into the night sky,
- 26:42see the sunrise beginning. This sunrise represents a new
- 26:50chapter in your life, new beginnings, new opportunities.
- 26:56And I wonder what wonderful possibilities exist in this next
- 27:04stage of your life, A time where you make hay because the sun
- 27:13shines. Life is good, so you make it
- 27:21even better. Imagine descending from the
- 27:26rocks like that sure footed mountain goat, returning to the
- 27:30Bay, seeing the beautiful sunrise, feeling that you are
- 27:38entering a new stage of your life, perhaps the best one ever.
- 27:46But it's time now to return to the present, taking these
- 27:48thoughts, feelings and ideas with you.
- 27:53So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 27:57nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 28:00your toes. Connect fully into the here and
- 28:02now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 28:09Starting to count 123 waking up 456, more alert 7-8.
- 28:17Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 28:21Wide awake. Wide awake.
