Latest / Adult Child of Dysfunction / E 360: Tammys 'Takes #40 Your Body Is Trying To Tell You Something... How About Listening
Transcript
- 0:02Well, hello everybody.
- 0:03Welcome to another episode of Tammy's Takes, where we take powerful conversations with our guests and turn them into practical strategies you can use right here, right now.
- 0:12So today, I wanna talk about something that Hannah Dalby and I talked about yesterday, and it hit so close to home actually, and it's something that I think about all the time, and it's something that I talk about
- 0:21all the time.
- 0:22I think it's really one of the biggest mindset shifts anyone can make on their healing journey.
- 0:27She talked about how our bodies are constantly communicating with us, and I could not agree more.
- 0:32You hear me say it all the time, guys.
- 0:34Get out of your head and into your bodies.
- 0:37I tell them, I tell everybody I talk to, your body is speaking a language, and nobody has ever been taught how to speak that language, how to understand it.
- 0:46Think about it.
- 0:47How many times have you heard people say this?
- 0:49And I want you to put in the comments or write below or tap on the screen or do whatever you gotta do if you have ever said these words: I don't know why I'm so exhausted, or I don't
- 0:59know why my stomach hurts all the time, or I don't know why my shoulders are tight, or I don't wanna know why my neck hurts, or I don't know why I wake up at 3:00 every morning, or I
- 1:08don't know why I just feel anxious when nothing is actually wrong How many of you have said those things to yourself?
- 1:16I know so many of us have.
- 1:18But what if those things aren't random?
- 1:20What if it's not your body hurting, and it's not your body trying to betray you?
- 1:25What if it's your body trying to tell you something?
- 1:29I spent years believing that it was my body working against me.
- 1:32I thought anxiety was my enemy.
- 1:34Everything was my enemy.
- 1:35My bleeding ulcers were my enemy.
- 1:36Panic attacks were the enemy.
- 1:38Inflammation was the enemy.
- 1:40But what I have learned through my own healing, through coaching hundreds of people, and through using bio frequency technology, is that your body is actually incredibly intelligent.
- 1:49It doesn't just create symptoms for no reason.
- 1:53Symptoms are often, and honestly most likely, signals.
- 1:58So before I go any further, I do wanna be very clear about something.
- 2:03that doesn't mean that all symptoms are emotional, your bodies are amazing, complex machines, and if something is wrong, you still need to go talk to your healthcare provider if something doesn't feel right.
- 2:17But what I'm saying is sometimes we've become so disconnected from ourselves that we stop asking what our body might be trying to communicate.
- 2:27So instead of listening, what do we do?
- 2:29What do we do to our bodies?
- 2:30Think about that.
- 2:31All things that are not good for our bodies.
- 2:33We silence it.
- 2:34We bury it.
- 2:35We push through.
- 2:37If we're tired, what do we do?
- 2:38We grab another cup of coffee or an energy drink.
- 2:41If something hurts, we take a pill to get rid of the pain.
- 2:44We distract ourselves.
- 2:45We stay busy.
- 2:47And what happens?
- 2:48Eventually, our body speaks a little louder.
- 2:51It screams.
- 2:52One of my favorite sayings, and you've probably heard me say it on many, many podcasts, is the body whispers before it screams.
- 2:58The problem is most of us don't hear the whispers.
- 3:02We wait until it's screaming.
- 3:04Think about your own life, right?
- 3:06So let's say something is going on at work and you're getting a little overwhelmed.
- 3:10How many of you notice that your jaw is clenched?
- 3:13Or what if you're stressed out and somebody's talking to you, have you ever noticed that your shoulders literally will creep up almost to your ears?
- 3:21And what about if you're getting ready to have an uncomfortable conversation with someone, whether it's at work, a coworker, whether it's with your spouse, whether it's with your child.
- 3:30Think about that feeling in your belly.
- 3:32You get that knot in your stomach, right?
- 3:35What about, too, and this is a big one, and so many of us don't pay attention to this, what about when you're spending time with someone and after you leave that conversation or you leave that activity, you are
- 3:48absolutely exhausted?
- 3:51Maybe, just maybe that person is draining your energy, physically draining your energy.
- 3:58Guys, these are not weaknesses.
- 3:59These are messages.
- 4:01Your nervous system is talking.
- 4:02Your body is talking to you.
- 4:05And the question should not be, "Why is my body doing this?"
- 4:09The better question should be, "What the hell is my body trying to protect me from?"
- 4:15That one question can change everything.
- 4:18One of the tools I use with my clients is an AO BioFrequency Voice Scan.
- 4:21Now, I wanna explain a little bit about it, but I do absolutely love this tool.
- 4:26It is not there to diagnose disease.
- 4:29It does not replace your doctor.
- 4:30It doesn't replace medical testing.
- 4:32If something is wrong, you need to go to the doctor, you need to get blood work.
- 4:35It is not diagnostic.
- 4:37It is energetic patterns that are in your body.
- 4:40But what it does is it gives us another lens to explore where your body might be under stress, what patterns might actually deserve a closer look.
- 4:48It takes 10 seconds of your voice, and it analyzes 171,000 different frequencies in your body, and it checks for imbalances.
- 4:59So some of the things that I've noticed with a lot of my clients, and even with myself when I do the frequency scan, is that you're gonna notice themes around chronic stress, maybe some digestive stress, sometimes inflammation.
- 5:11Sometimes your nervous system will look like it's been running on high for years, but honestly, sometimes it has.
- 5:17That's why people come to me to begin with, right?
- 5:20then there's also, kind of the emotional aspect of it.
- 5:22Sometimes we see those emotional patterns that line up perfectly with what you've been experiencing, and it's not because the scan is magic It's honestly because the body is leaving clues, and they are energetic clues because everything is energy.
- 5:37I always tell my clients when I work with them, the scan doesn't tell your story, you do.
- 5:42The scan literally just helps us ask better questions.
- 5:46So if something shows up, like good example is every time I eat peanut butter, it shows up with gallbladders, gallbladder markers.
- 5:52So instead of thinking there's something wrong with my gallbladder, maybe I should be like, "Huh, interesting.
- 5:59Every time I eat peanut butter, it shows up with gallbladder markers.
- 6:03Maybe just possibly my body doesn't like digesting peanut butter."
- 6:06So there's different examples like that, and I can give you hundreds of them.
- 6:11But you wanna look at this with curiosity, not judgment.
- 6:17You don't wanna get angry.
- 6:18You don't wanna look at different parts of it and freak out about it.
- 6:21But what I want you to do is I want you to picture this, right?
- 6:25I want you to picture walking into your house one day, and you hear the smoke alarm going off, right?
- 6:30You hear boo, boo, boo, big loud alarm.
- 6:33Are you going to go into the room where the smoke alarm is going off and rip it out because the noise is annoying?
- 6:40Of course not.
- 6:41You're gonna look for the fire.
- 6:43That's what the scan does.
- 6:45That's how you look at symptoms, and you look at these Energetic imbalances.
- 6:52They're not the fire.
- 6:53The scan is not the fire.
- 6:55The scan is the smoke alarm.
- 6:57So it's inviting us to take a deeper look.
- 7:00So here's something I want you to try this week.
- 7:01The next time you notice any kind of tension, so it could be tension, stress, pain, fatigue, even an emotional reaction to something, a trigger or something, I want you to pause.
- 7:12I want you to put one hand over the place where you feel that tension or that stress or, and that anxiousness.
- 7:18I want you to take a slow breath, and I want you to ask yourself three questions.
- 7:24One, what am I feeling in my body?
- 7:27Not what am I thinking, but what am I actually feeling?
- 7:31Is it tight?
- 7:32Does it feel heavy, hot, cold, buzzing, numb?
- 7:36Just give it dimension.
- 7:38Give it shape.
- 7:38Give it something tangible, but just notice it.
- 7:42Two, I want you to ask yourself, when have I felt this before?
- 7:46Not necessarily the exact same situation, but the same feeling in your body because your body remembers feelings long before your mind remembers stories.
- 7:57And three, If this part of my body could speak, what would it be trying to tell me?
- 8:05Don't force an answer.
- 8:06Just get curious because curiosity opens doors that judgments slam shut.
- 8:12Curiosity also, in my opinion, makes everything a little softer.
- 8:16Your body has literally been giving you these signals since the day you were born.
- 8:20It's carried every single joy, every heartbreak, every disappointment, every celebration, every trauma, every victory.
- 8:27Your body has literally carried all of this, and it's never stopped trying to protect you.
- 8:33So why would you think it would stop trying to protect you now?
- 8:37It won't.
- 8:38It never will, and it never has.
- 8:40So maybe, just maybe, instead of fighting your body, become a partner to your body.
- 8:46Listen to it instead of trying to silence it.
- 8:49Become curious instead of being critical because I truly believe your body isn't your enemy.
- 8:55It's actually one of your greatest teachers.
- 8:58If you just learn to listen to what those things are trying to tell you, you might be able to heal some of those things, and I might be able to help you do that.
- 9:05Honestly, I would love to.
- 9:07So if today's episode made you curious about what your own body might be communicating, I would love to invite you to schedule a complimentary call.
- 9:15Just book a call in the link below, have one of the scans done.
- 9:20If nothing else, it's entertainment.
- 9:22You get back some good balancing harmonics and things that are good for calming your nervous system.
- 9:28I'll put the links in the show notes, and hopefully you'll check it out.
- 9:31until next time, remember, your body is not working against you.
- 9:36It's been trying to protect you all along, the entire time.
- 9:40The question is when the heck are we going to stop judging and start actually listening?
- 9:46So until next time, guys, I will see you back here and hope you have a blessed, safe, healthy, happy day.
- 9:52Love you all.
- 9:53Have a good day.
- 9:54Bye.
