- 0:06Speaker 1: Oh, we're live.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I was like, we're just pausing.
- 0:28Speaker 3: So that way it's nice, a nice and nice visual
- 0:30Speaker 3: for everyone to come to.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Happy holidays everyone, and let me weave you a tale.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So excited two or three months ago, Julian I were like,
- 0:42Speaker 1: oh my god, we're so on top of it. We're
- 0:44Speaker 1: so great at calendar and we're so good at planning
- 0:47Speaker 1: our show. And we looked up the holiday on the
- 0:51Speaker 1: Internet and we were like, thank god, it's on Hulu.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And then mother fucking Hulu took it off like literally
- 1:00Speaker 1: within days of us needing to watch it.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Because I watched it November three because I tried to
- 1:06Speaker 3: watch it in October and they were like, this will
- 1:09Speaker 3: be available to you November three, so I came back,
- 1:12Speaker 3: so it.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Was available for two weeks.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Like what?
- 1:17Speaker 1: And I need everyone. I need everyone to write Hulu
- 1:22Speaker 1: on Twitter to be like was that with the holiday?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Why can't we watch the holiday? This is an instant.
- 1:28Speaker 2: This is a classic from two thousand and five. We
- 1:31Speaker 2: need it? Is it?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Because Jack Black forgot he was in the holiday? So
- 1:35Speaker 1: now none of us get to watch it. Like I
- 1:37Speaker 1: don't need that. Jack Black would want that for any
- 1:39Speaker 1: of us.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Do you think it's because Judelaw is sad about his hairline.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Jude Law, are you sad about your hairline? I haven't
- 1:46Speaker 1: checked in on that in a while? Should I do
- 1:48Speaker 1: that live on the internet.
- 1:50Speaker 3: You didn't see him in the Marvel Missus Marvel or
- 1:53Speaker 3: Captain Marvel.
- 1:54Speaker 2: What is it called, the first one?
- 1:56Speaker 1: In the first one?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's in the first one with it's her face.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, let's just google Jude Luck currently. Oh, Jude, he's
- 2:10Speaker 1: still his face is still very handsome. You're very handsome, Jude.
- 2:13Speaker 1: But that is rough, and it's only rough because of
- 2:16Speaker 1: this part. It's only rough because of the cemetery. But
- 2:22Speaker 1: that's fine. So, Jude, if you're sad about that, I
- 2:25Speaker 1: wish you a happy holiday.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I'll swap it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I'll swap homes with you with your sister.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and we'll snuggle up by the cozy fire. Okay.
- 2:37Speaker 1: When I was looking up images for the Hating Game, yeah,
- 2:41Speaker 1: I realized that it was a book to screen adaptation.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, look at you.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I haven't read it yet. I bought it.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I bought it obviously not that long ago, because it
- 2:51Speaker 3: has been kept soon becoming soon to be a major
- 2:54Speaker 3: motion picture, so I clearly bought it after they sold
- 2:56Speaker 3: it to make it screen adaptation.
- 2:59Speaker 1: So okay, I think one of my notes is, oh, God,
- 3:06Speaker 1: we're gonna have a lot of the same fights that
- 3:08Speaker 1: we had for Love actually what and they're all going
- 3:13Speaker 1: to be the same fights that we had when Walking Dead,
- 3:17Speaker 1: when young man Walking Dead told Kiera Knightley like, I've
- 3:21Speaker 1: been mean to you the entire time because I love
- 3:23Speaker 1: you everything, and I know and everyone like we picked
- 3:27Speaker 1: this movie because I had never seen it, and Julia
- 3:29Speaker 1: was like, I watch it all the time, and I
- 3:30Speaker 1: was like, okay, great, I love Lucy Hale, and then
- 3:34Speaker 1: everything that man did made my body light on fire.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I was just like anxious and stressed and like telling
- 3:42Speaker 1: Lucy Hale like, no, this isn't okay, Like it's not okay.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So I was really hoping that you would have read
- 3:49Speaker 1: the book, because I thought it was a lot like Red,
- 3:53Speaker 1: White and Royal Blue, where there was so much context
- 3:55Speaker 1: that they were assuming that we knew sure because like
- 3:59Speaker 1: number and this movie has so much whiplash in it.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Well, and here's the thing I think that I think
- 4:06Speaker 3: there's a lot missing obviously, because there are scenes where
- 4:10Speaker 3: I'm just like, wait, how did we get from there
- 4:13Speaker 3: to there? Like obviously we're supposed to just assume, but
- 4:16Speaker 3: there's clearly going to be something in the book that
- 4:19Speaker 3: helped bridge that moment, Like we don't get clarification on
- 4:22Speaker 3: why that. She like the short the strawberry thing is
- 4:26Speaker 3: just so so so light in the movie, and I'm like,
- 4:29Speaker 3: that's got to be a big thing in the book.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Probably i gotta be a big thing. Also, she writes
- 4:33Speaker 1: Smurf fan fiction, and I was like, you have to
- 4:36Speaker 1: be fucking kidding me.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And it didn't even give us a lot of that either.
- 4:40Speaker 3: It's like, why throw that in there if that's not
- 4:43Speaker 3: a reoccurrent like a recurring joke throughout the entire film.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I need everyone. I need everyone to write in the
- 4:49Speaker 1: comments whether or not there's for real Smurf fan fiction.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I need everyone to link us Smurf at number one.
- 4:57Speaker 1: That's also a toxic environment because smurfet she is the
- 5:00Speaker 1: only Smurf, so you know, she's getting sexually harassed all
- 5:03Speaker 1: day lunch, she is getting sexually harassed every cartoon.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yes, I did think it was cute though, when Lucy
- 5:10Speaker 3: Hale's character who's also named Lucy. Lucy Hutton leaves the
- 5:14Speaker 3: Grumpy Smurf on his desk because.
- 5:17Speaker 1: He's grumpy and he's dangerous. I need everyone, I need everyone.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I think he's dangerous.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I will okay, she just looks at the.
- 5:31Speaker 2: This is Natalie and her delusional friend Jules.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I need everyone to know that I used to think
- 5:37Speaker 1: that Enemies to Lovers was really hot. I used to.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Think I love it, Natalie.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I know. I almost just asked you it in question
- 5:45Speaker 1: for him and I was like, I already know the
- 5:47Speaker 1: answer to this, and Julia loves it, and that's why
- 5:50Speaker 1: she makes me watch the hating Game and love.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Actually, it's true.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I too, I too used to think that love Enemies
- 5:58Speaker 1: to Lovers was really hot until it happened to me. Oh,
- 6:04Speaker 1: until it happened to me, and then I realized. I
- 6:06Speaker 1: was like, no, this is the most dangerous trope. This
- 6:11Speaker 1: is the most dangerous trope because it's such a whiplash
- 6:14Speaker 1: like what happens in the movie. This movie spans maybe
- 6:18Speaker 1: three weeks, three.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Or four weeks, yeah, because we get right before Thanksgiving
- 6:21Speaker 3: to write before Christmas.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yes, and so my whiplash of an enemy's to lover's
- 6:31Speaker 1: saying happened over the span of like a Halloween to
- 6:38Speaker 1: a summer. Oh okay, yeah, so that's like six ish months.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, which I do wish things would be a
- 6:46Speaker 3: little bit longer.
- 6:46Speaker 2: That's what.
- 6:47Speaker 3: That's why When Harry met Sally is the greatest movie
- 6:49Speaker 3: of all time because they fall in love in twelve
- 6:51Speaker 3: years versus twelve days.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Remember a couple of weeks ago when I liked When
- 6:55Speaker 1: Harry met Sally against all.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Odds, against all odds, I'm so proud, I'm so happy.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And then normally the movies, Julia swung for the fences
- 7:05Speaker 1: and was like, we should watch the Hyadi game. It's
- 7:07Speaker 1: so cute and I love it, and I'm like I'm game,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and like literally the man stressed me out, like I
- 7:13Speaker 1: I honestly, I was like, it'll ruin it for Juliet
- 7:16Speaker 1: if I just start filming my reactions.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Well, you know, if.
- 7:21Speaker 3: We were originally allowed to do the Holiday Hulu, we
- 7:26Speaker 3: would be having a very different conversation. I am very
- 7:28Speaker 3: proud of us for pulling a movie literally last minute,
- 7:32Speaker 3: because here's.
- 7:33Speaker 1: The thing I didn't want to watch. I don't want
- 7:37Speaker 1: to watch a Christmas story and I don't want to
- 7:39Speaker 1: watch National Noa Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which some of my
- 7:44Speaker 1: suggestions like I know that I'm already and I have
- 7:47Speaker 1: to do that. And then I was like, well, do
- 7:48Speaker 1: I want to watch The Grinch. He's kind of trendy
- 7:51Speaker 1: right now, like he's somehow the the Grinch has become
- 7:55Speaker 1: a sexual icon and I'd like to know when, why
- 7:59Speaker 1: and how.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I think twenty eighteen maybe there was that other than
- 8:04Speaker 3: Cartoon went anyway, go ahead, yeah, and I was like.
- 8:06Speaker 1: We're all, we're all aware that that's Jim Carrey right
- 8:10Speaker 1: like under the Grinch, Like we yeah, we've decided that
- 8:13Speaker 1: Jim Carrey is the person who sexualized the Grinch. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 1: it all to be aware.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah, wait, should we explain what the hating game is about?
- 8:23Speaker 1: For our and you should do it because you'll do
- 8:26Speaker 1: it in a very unbiased.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Okay, here's the Wikipedia description of the film.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I'll just lived Penelope from the floor and Clutcher and
- 8:38Speaker 1: just Clutcher.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Resolving to achieve professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy
- 8:45Speaker 3: embarks on a ruthless game of one upmanship against cold
- 8:50Speaker 3: and efficient nemesis Joshua, a rivalry that has complicated by
- 8:54Speaker 3: her growing attraction to him.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Here's the thing, though, too, that I think is missing.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I think the book.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Might actually be steamier than the film. Like I think
- 9:03Speaker 3: that's the point. I think the book is supposed to
- 9:05Speaker 3: be like steamy, steamy, steamy, one of the one of the.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I do think that this movie is badly written and
- 9:14Speaker 1: badly adapted because it's tropy.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Like it's got every trope, there's only one bed.
- 9:23Speaker 2: He calls her.
- 9:24Speaker 3: A nickname that's rooted in something adorable, but he's mean
- 9:27Speaker 3: about it, like.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And and also they're competing for the same job. Yeah. Also,
- 9:38Speaker 1: like the first sentence that you read in the description
- 9:41Speaker 1: was that she's one upping him. They are in a competition,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, it's gonna be petty. I'm
- 9:46Speaker 1: in when petty people fall in love.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And then like literally there's no one upping. They stare
- 9:53Speaker 1: at each other from across an office, and I was like,
- 9:56Speaker 1: that should be illegal. It should be illegal that if
- 9:59Speaker 1: you have I have to share an office with someone,
- 10:01Speaker 1: you also have to face your desks at someone at
- 10:04Speaker 1: each other. I was like, it should be a corner
- 10:07Speaker 1: sit or you face opposite walls. This should be illegal.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I love it well, and that also makes me kind
- 10:18Speaker 3: of wonder too. So like the actor who plays Joshua,
- 10:23Speaker 3: I find him to be very attractive. I also found
- 10:26Speaker 3: him to not be very good in this movie because
- 10:30Speaker 3: in other movies, I don't know. I've never seen him.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I've never seen him in anything else. I only know
- 10:35Speaker 3: him from this film. Okay, And I really struggle because
- 10:39Speaker 3: if it sounds like you're reading a script, I can't hang.
- 10:44Speaker 3: But then they do the thing that suckers like me love,
- 10:47Speaker 3: which is okay, so he's been reading his lines like
- 10:50Speaker 3: he's reading for ten minutes. Now let's put him in
- 10:53Speaker 3: something very very tight so it's a distraction. Or now
- 10:58Speaker 3: shirt or let him take office shirt, or have him
- 11:01Speaker 3: like manhandle Lucy's butt so that way it's like, here's
- 11:05Speaker 3: a sexy, steamy moment, like this.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Is why we hired him. Don't forget, this is why
- 11:12Speaker 1: we hired him. We hire him because we thought he
- 11:14Speaker 1: was the next great actor. No, you hired him because
- 11:18Speaker 1: look at this body.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Because look at how big that hand is.
- 11:21Speaker 3: It's gonna be able to take a whole lot of
- 11:23Speaker 3: you in it.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And let me tell you, like the movie really did
- 11:28Speaker 1: lean heavily on. These are two very attractive people who
- 11:31Speaker 1: want a bone, and I'm like, I'm in, but you
- 11:34Speaker 1: have to start delivering on the story that you're trying
- 11:38Speaker 1: to do.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Whatever enough of this steamy like when And again, I
- 11:42Speaker 3: haven't read the book yet, so I'm going to make
- 11:44Speaker 3: it a priority to read it because I think like
- 11:47Speaker 3: with books like everything by Emily Henry that she's ever written,
- 11:51Speaker 3: a Helen hank.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Who Else is.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Another one that does a really good job where it's
- 11:56Speaker 3: like you get these really like sexually ten moments where
- 12:01Speaker 3: you're just like one has sex and you're just like,
- 12:05Speaker 3: I just need to fit, I need I need to
- 12:07Speaker 3: cool down a little bit. But nothing, literally, no penetration
- 12:10Speaker 3: has happened. It's just the seazing and the leading up
- 12:12Speaker 3: to and we didn't get a lot of that in
- 12:14Speaker 3: the movie.
- 12:15Speaker 2: There's like a handful of things.
- 12:17Speaker 1: She wore a skirt and they ended up in an
- 12:19Speaker 1: elevator alone together and he's like, Aha, my brain has
- 12:22Speaker 1: been in love with you the time, and I'm like,
- 12:25Speaker 1: what is happening?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Well, And that's the thing when they're in the elevator,
- 12:29Speaker 3: which that was pretty steamy, but it could have been
- 12:31Speaker 3: steamier I feel like. But then when they're in the
- 12:34Speaker 3: car and he's like, so should I just take you home?
- 12:36Speaker 2: And she's like, no, I have a date.
- 12:38Speaker 3: So it's like, how did we get to the point
- 12:41Speaker 3: where he.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Now thinks because like they made out.
- 12:45Speaker 3: But they're just like we still hate each other, So like,
- 12:47Speaker 3: help me understand how He's now like, oh, so we're
- 12:51Speaker 3: we're going home now, and not.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Like me because you watch this movie over and over
- 12:56Speaker 1: and over again, and I'm willin we.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Don't watch it for its story.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Now I'm gonna have to tell Julia once again that
- 13:05Speaker 1: men like this are dangerous.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Watch it for the making, owl, I watch it for
- 13:12Speaker 3: the Your eyes are so pretty.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And let me tell you.
- 13:19Speaker 2: That just step up from Hallmark. Truly, it truly is.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And I also think that that's why the holiday and
- 13:25Speaker 1: a majority of what I'm convinced are like holiday rom
- 13:29Speaker 1: coms aren't streaming on streamers And it's because Netflix, Hulu
- 13:33Speaker 1: Prime they all make their own now. And by the way,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I have a list of like cute ones that we
- 13:38Speaker 1: will do on the show. Yeah, I love that New
- 13:41Speaker 1: Year's Eve one with uh Julia Roberts little niece Roberts.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, is cute. Yeah, that's a movie New Year's Eve.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It's a made for Prime movie that's like centered around
- 13:57Speaker 1: New Year's Eve.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I think, oh, not the one she's in where there's
- 14:00Speaker 2: a wedding.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yes, that one is that New Year's Eve. No, no,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but that's the one I'm talking about. Okay, I loved it.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I also loved something from Tiffany's.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Oh that one is Oh is so cute.
- 14:17Speaker 3: And I love that guy because he is an insecure
- 14:19Speaker 3: and I just love him.
- 14:21Speaker 1: It was so fucking adorable. But this movie, he's also mixed.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Let's go back to My to My Dangerous, to Your
- 14:28Speaker 1: Anatomies to Lovers.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Tatalie's never gonna let me pick a movie again.
- 14:40Speaker 1: It's not your fault. You've been conditioned, conditioned, I have
- 14:43Speaker 1: been here. So My Enemy to Lovers did a lot
- 14:47Speaker 1: of the same stuff. Like I've been watching you the
- 14:50Speaker 1: entire time. Your eyes are so pretty. I've always thought
- 14:54Speaker 1: that you were the smartest woman in the room, and
- 14:56Speaker 1: I fell for it. But then when Lucy Hale was like, oh,
- 15:02Speaker 1: it's still all just part of the game, I was like, yes, yes,
- 15:07Speaker 1: it's still just all part of their sick little fucking game.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Run Away be vice to that man in the coffee
- 15:13Speaker 1: shop run away, and then at the end of the movie,
- 15:17Speaker 1: the end of the movie literally heavens. In thirty seconds,
- 15:20Speaker 1: she walks by an office and a bunch of people
- 15:23Speaker 1: are standing in there, and he's like, I quit my
- 15:25Speaker 1: job so you could have this job.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Took my name out of the running, but nobody told
- 15:32Speaker 3: you because we needed you to keep that fire under
- 15:35Speaker 3: your belly so you can work hard.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I hate everyone. I was like, this is not women
- 15:39Speaker 1: supporting women. I don't know what her boss thought she
- 15:41Speaker 1: was doing.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I actually really did hate that because she's like, you're
- 15:45Speaker 3: just so fired up when you're competing with Josh.
- 15:48Speaker 2: But he quit, so now what?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Also, the HR lady begs them to stop. The R
- 15:54Speaker 1: lady was like, all and it's like to talk about
- 15:56Speaker 1: is how you guys make this workplace environment hostile?
- 16:00Speaker 2: That's all you do. Literally every complaint is about the
- 16:02Speaker 2: two of you.
- 16:05Speaker 1: So what insane? Like so many things, so many things
- 16:09Speaker 1: were like the wedding. When he takes her to the wedding,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I was like, okay, this is cute. This is trophy.
- 16:17Speaker 1: She tells off his dad. I'm like, okay, I can
- 16:19Speaker 1: feel this. I can dig this. I still think that
- 16:21Speaker 1: they're having sex too soon, and I still don't understand
- 16:25Speaker 1: what payoff we're getting.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Well, And to add to the sex too soon part,
- 16:29Speaker 3: like she even like shows up at his house and
- 16:31Speaker 3: she's like, let's just do it and get it over
- 16:33Speaker 3: with and he's like, that's not really the vibe I'm
- 16:35Speaker 3: into because I'm in love with you.
- 16:37Speaker 2: But he doesn't say that part out loud, and then you're.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Just like there, it's a two hour movie and they
- 16:44Speaker 3: spend the bulk of the time dragging us along to
- 16:48Speaker 3: wrap it up in literally three minutes.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Uh huh. So then I can't remember what comes first.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I can't remember what comes first. But at some point
- 16:59Speaker 1: she noops on his desk and she sees like serial
- 17:03Speaker 1: killer writing Yeah, he's hashtags, circle, check mark, checkmark, and
- 17:14Speaker 1: she's like, what are these cereals?
- 17:16Speaker 3: Why are you t tack toeing in your book with letters?
- 17:20Speaker 2: I'm sorry, are you the Zodia killer?
- 17:22Speaker 1: What's going out of your day planner? And then he
- 17:25Speaker 1: literally says something and I wrote, he's a serial killer?
- 17:28Speaker 1: You have away because he says, I track what you're wearing,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and I make an ex every time I want to
- 17:36Speaker 1: kiss you. So I track every time you wear a
- 17:40Speaker 1: tidy little skirt, and I track every time you wear
- 17:43Speaker 1: tap tap pants, and then I track every time I
- 17:46Speaker 1: have a voter, and then I that I want to
- 17:49Speaker 1: kiss you in my little calendar at work, and I
- 17:52Speaker 1: was like, it's gonna kill you. You have to run. It's
- 18:00Speaker 1: like this is insane.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I literally said it out loud.
- 18:10Speaker 1: It's like, Lucy Haw, this is just like what they
- 18:14Speaker 1: made you date your teacher for ten seasons of pretty.
- 18:19Speaker 1: This man is in safe.
- 18:22Speaker 2: He's so cute though. Yeah, so I my toxic tray
- 18:27Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So we have the like the Zodiac killer moment. And
- 18:31Speaker 1: I was like, then she goes to his place and
- 18:34Speaker 1: she's wearing the dress for the wedding, and I thought, yeah,
- 18:38Speaker 1: wedding like tuck herself up in the mirror or something
- 18:41Speaker 1: like I'm strong, I'm in japandee. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 3: And really it's like I took the eye color of
- 18:47Speaker 3: your eyes and made my walls the same color.
- 18:51Speaker 1: And then he's like, look, you'd lend right into the
- 18:53Speaker 1: walls because no one ever know. Because I've tracked all
- 18:58Speaker 1: of your outfits. I noticed that your eyes were green,
- 19:03Speaker 1: so I painted my walls the exact fucking shade of green.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Because I've been in love with you the whole time,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and I'm like, he is not safe. You're not making
- 19:12Speaker 1: it out there. I was like to Julia, give me
- 19:15Speaker 1: everything I could ever want. And we're actually watching a
- 19:18Speaker 1: Christmas horror movie because I love them.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Why would I do that? You know, I can't sit
- 19:23Speaker 2: through a scary movie.
- 19:25Speaker 1: My notes are on hit because I'm like, she is
- 19:27Speaker 1: not safe. He is, in fact the Zodiac Killer.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Okay, let me ask you this. If he was a
- 19:34Speaker 3: better actor, you would probably feel the same way.
- 19:37Speaker 1: They had a walking Dead do it in love? Actually?
- 19:41Speaker 1: And I kept telling you you. I was like, Rick,
- 19:42Speaker 1: is that safe in this movie? And we know that
- 19:46Speaker 1: Rick is a good action doctor. Yeah, you know. And
- 19:51Speaker 1: then and then she hears him like talk shit about
- 19:56Speaker 1: women or her with.
- 19:58Speaker 2: The she assumed it's her. She assumes it's her.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Never get clear, figure, we never find out who they're
- 20:04Speaker 3: actually talking about, because we know her boss isn't wearing
- 20:07Speaker 3: a push up bra. She's in her office like She's like,
- 20:12Speaker 3: I'm in workout clothes.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Is it that poor anxious girl who wanted a cupcake
- 20:17Speaker 1: for her birthday?
- 20:19Speaker 3: Is it the Is it the woman who never does
- 20:21Speaker 3: her own job? Is it the goth girl they tried
- 20:26Speaker 3: to hire which they didn't hire later.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait for you to read the book
- 20:31Speaker 1: and tell me. But we're going to have such.
- 20:34Speaker 3: A ragey conversation if the book, the book will probably
- 20:38Speaker 3: be better.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Let's just be honest.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I mean me too, because I was like, gosh, I
- 20:45Speaker 3: really wish i'd made the time. This has been literally
- 20:48Speaker 3: sitting in my TBR for years.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, what if it's secretly a crime novel and it
- 20:58Speaker 1: does cover because he's a Zodia killer? Because Julia literally
- 21:04Speaker 1: like all of the warning bills, I was like, this
- 21:07Speaker 1: is a safe I go. Men can't just bring you
- 21:10Speaker 1: to their house. And they're like do you like that?
- 21:12Speaker 1: Well this is after.
- 21:15Speaker 3: She's been to his house a couple of times. Listen,
- 21:17Speaker 3: there's that did you ever watch Felicity?
- 21:21Speaker 1: No? But okay, but I do know that a lot
- 21:23Speaker 1: of those men on Felicity not safe people.
- 21:26Speaker 3: So there's a scene I think it's season three. Tyra
- 21:29Speaker 3: Banks is on the show for like a couple of
- 21:31Speaker 3: episodes and she is like paired against the Scott Foley
- 21:37Speaker 3: who plays Noul Crane and so he is doing like
- 21:42Speaker 3: tech support because he's like a nerdy guy, and so
- 21:45Speaker 3: in doing tech support, he meets Tyra Banks he discovered
- 21:48Speaker 3: he like watches her put in her username and password
- 21:51Speaker 3: for her school email, and so now he has her
- 21:54Speaker 3: username and password and like logs in and looks at
- 21:57Speaker 3: it to read emails because he's like desperate to date
- 21:59Speaker 3: this woman but knows nothing about her. So then he
- 22:02Speaker 3: reads an email she sends to one of her friends
- 22:05Speaker 3: who and it's like I just want a guy to
- 22:07Speaker 3: say insert something here about like, you know, we both
- 22:11Speaker 3: let's just leave this place and go have sex or
- 22:13Speaker 3: something to that effect.
- 22:15Speaker 2: So they're on a date.
- 22:17Speaker 3: He says to her exactly what she wrote in the
- 22:20Speaker 3: email to her friend because he read it.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Because he read it.
- 22:25Speaker 3: She takes her drink and like throws it in his
- 22:28Speaker 3: face or hits him or something and storms out. Their
- 22:31Speaker 3: next scene, it's not the immediate scene because there's other
- 22:34Speaker 3: storylines happening, but their next scene together is her going, hey, listen,
- 22:39Speaker 3: I'm real sorry about that, because my friend reminded me
- 22:42Speaker 3: that I just told her I really wanted somebody to
- 22:45Speaker 3: say that to me, and you did, so I responded badly,
- 22:50Speaker 3: and I was like, I still don't think that's the
- 22:52Speaker 3: way to handle that, because there is a difference between
- 22:56Speaker 3: fantasizing about like somebody saying something super sexy to you
- 23:00Speaker 3: in public, somebody being like, I loved the color of
- 23:04Speaker 3: your eyes, so I painted my wall so I could
- 23:06Speaker 3: always be reminded of you.
- 23:08Speaker 2: That works in rom comms, that works in.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Romance novels, but it doesn't work in real life because,
- 23:15Speaker 3: to Natalie's point, it is very creepy in real life dangerous.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It's dangerous, man number one. I thought you were going
- 23:23Speaker 1: to tell me that Tyra Banks was so smart that
- 23:25Speaker 1: she immediately connected the dots. I was like, he hacked
- 23:28Speaker 1: my email.
- 23:30Speaker 2: She did not. She did it three.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Because none of those been on Felicity. We're saved either.
- 23:38Speaker 1: We have an entire episode about it. Until all the
- 23:41Speaker 1: men I've created.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Before, well, I feel like Javier was the only one.
- 23:47Speaker 1: You know, I don't even know that one, so maybe,
- 23:50Speaker 1: but he.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Was the gay us friend.
- 23:52Speaker 1: So after the serial killer tracking in his nature everything
- 23:59Speaker 1: he said that, I was like, that's love bombing. I
- 24:02Speaker 1: go everything about this feels like love bombing. And then
- 24:06Speaker 1: when she tries to have a conversation with him about
- 24:08Speaker 1: him saying shitty things about a woman, possibly her. Then
- 24:13Speaker 1: he combats her and I was like, this is gaslighting.
- 24:16Speaker 1: This is love bombing. Now he's telling you that he's
- 24:19Speaker 1: been in love with you the entire time. That's why
- 24:22Speaker 1: he gets to be mean to you. You're confused, and
- 24:26Speaker 1: this is how they manipulate and gaslight you. He is
- 24:29Speaker 1: the Zodiac killer, Like you have to run away?
- 24:32Speaker 3: Well, and I think too, Like for me, I know
- 24:34Speaker 3: that it's not real right, Like I've done a very
- 24:38Speaker 3: good job at creating the line of this is how
- 24:40Speaker 3: I want my rom coms to be and my romance
- 24:43Speaker 3: novels to be.
- 24:44Speaker 2: This is not how I want real life to be.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Even though I joke and I'm like, oh, I just
- 24:48Speaker 3: want to live in a button up rom com because
- 24:50Speaker 3: those things aren't creepy in a rom com. But you
- 24:52Speaker 3: translate him to real life and you're just like, I
- 24:54Speaker 3: should probably lock my front door.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It was like, Jules wouldn't let us watch this movie.
- 24:59Speaker 1: But when I was in middle school and or high school,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I'm not going to look up the dates. I read
- 25:04Speaker 1: all the Twilight books. Okay, I've seen one.
- 25:10Speaker 2: It was enough.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I read all the Twilight books, Okay, I read them all.
- 25:14Speaker 1: And why is that? Because my sister got to make
- 25:17Speaker 1: her entire personality Harry Potter.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Twilight, I said, Twitter.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Twilight Twitter, So I had to make my entire personality
- 25:26Speaker 1: something and The Hunger Games wasn't out yet, so it
- 25:30Speaker 1: was Twilight. And it's because my mother thought that it
- 25:37Speaker 1: would be appropriate for me to learn my sexual journey
- 25:40Speaker 1: through Anne Rice and you can see how that went.
- 25:44Speaker 2: So wait, Anne Rice didn't write Twilight.
- 25:47Speaker 1: No she didn't. But I think I read Interview with
- 25:50Speaker 1: the Vampire and Mayfair Witches before I ever sat Twilight
- 25:54Speaker 1: got it, so it.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Was like it was like it was like those books
- 25:58Speaker 3: could walk, so Twilight I could run.
- 26:00Speaker 1: And I think I even like gasled myself into being like, oh,
- 26:04Speaker 1: the glittering in the sunlight thing, that's a really great
- 26:07Speaker 1: work around. Like what didn't you take on thing fires
- 26:12Speaker 1: because vampires were my whole personality? Yes, yes, So imagine
- 26:19Speaker 1: thirteen twelve year old me reading Twilight and Edward Colin says, Sabella,
- 26:29Speaker 1: it's like you're my own brand of heroin, and then
- 26:33Speaker 1: twelve orgasms she comes. She's like, oh my god, I
- 26:37Speaker 1: just don't can't wait for a man to tell me
- 26:38Speaker 1: that I am his brand of heroin, and then you
- 26:42Speaker 1: see it because you didn't know that heroin was bad.
- 26:47Speaker 1: So in my codependent brain, I was like, yes, No,
- 26:51Speaker 1: that's how much you want men to love you. You
- 26:53Speaker 1: got them to be addicted to you. You want them
- 26:55Speaker 1: to not be able to have enough of you. You
- 26:57Speaker 1: want them to always have you be an arm's length
- 26:59Speaker 1: away from me because they're addicted to you. So when
- 27:03Speaker 1: he said that I can't it, it reaffirmed it. And
- 27:07Speaker 1: then I went to the movie my freshman year of college,
- 27:10Speaker 1: maybe my sophomore year, and I went with a friend
- 27:13Speaker 1: who doesn't speak to me anymore, and this could be why.
- 27:17Speaker 1: And we're watching the fucking Twilight movie and it's that
- 27:21Speaker 1: part where like Bella walks across the fan and then
- 27:25Speaker 1: Rob pat literally vomits in his mouth, and I think
- 27:29Speaker 1: that's why I can't find him attractive. I think that's
- 27:33Speaker 1: why because she walks by the fan, and I remember
- 27:37Speaker 1: the scene in the book about it being like he
- 27:41Speaker 1: was so taken by my son, and then it connects
- 27:45Speaker 1: to that heroin line. Rock Pa played it in the movie.
- 27:50Speaker 1: She walks by the fan, blows through her hair and
- 27:53Speaker 1: he goes and I laughed, and.
- 27:57Speaker 2: That's not sexy.
- 27:59Speaker 1: And I was the only person in the theater who laughed,
- 28:02Speaker 1: and I kept laughing. So then by the time he
- 28:06Speaker 1: got to the you're my brand of hair, You're like
- 28:09Speaker 1: my own personal brand of heroin, I was like, you
- 28:13Speaker 1: have to be fucking kidding me. And then I never
- 28:16Speaker 1: went and saw any of the rest of them in theaters.
- 28:18Speaker 1: But one night we had the good cable, we had
- 28:21Speaker 1: premium cable, and it was raining. I was like, I'll
- 28:25Speaker 1: give the second movie a shot. What the fuck am
- 28:27Speaker 1: I doing? Yeah, And I got to the park where
- 28:30Speaker 1: he cuts her mother fucking breaks because he's sick of
- 28:33Speaker 1: her going to the reservation where Jacobs.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Lives really toxic.
- 28:39Speaker 1: And I was like, that's toxic as hell. But you know,
- 28:42Speaker 1: twelve year old namilely K, she was like, yeah, cut
- 28:45Speaker 1: her breaks.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Yes, Oh my god, That's why I'm like, mouth vomiting
- 28:54Speaker 3: to me is like not sexy at all.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Like that is not gonna get me to like you.
- 28:59Speaker 3: You're so supposed to find me so much, and I
- 29:01Speaker 3: sense so hot that your mouth vomiting like no, well,
- 29:07Speaker 3: that to me means that to me shows that to me,
- 29:09Speaker 3: says that he's repulsed by her.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yes, that's why I started laughing, Like you got.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Do we actually need to do a close read of
- 29:19Speaker 3: the Twilight series, both of books in the.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Movie that I just read the beut loud on the
- 29:24Speaker 1: internet live, so we don't get copy right in bridgement
- 29:28Speaker 1: because I'm like, because I've never read the books, but
- 29:31Speaker 1: i heard they're not well, Like I heard that like
- 29:34Speaker 1: the structure and like the syntax and all these things
- 29:36Speaker 1: isn't great.
- 29:38Speaker 2: No, and I've never and I've watched the one movie one.
- 29:42Speaker 3: And I still am mad about it, but I've managed
- 29:44Speaker 3: to like black out everything about it.
- 29:46Speaker 1: You know how that series closes out, don't you?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Don't they all die?
- 29:51Speaker 1: No? I just assumed Edward and Bella have a baby
- 29:54Speaker 1: named Renez.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Oh right, because I just saw a thing on uh
- 29:59Speaker 3: TikTok about how like people are like, oh, you know,
- 30:02Speaker 3: Suki Waterhouse and Rob Potter having a baby. So now
- 30:05Speaker 3: that clip is like resurfacing because they're like, oh, keep
- 30:08Speaker 3: it away from Taylor Lautner. Yeah, so I just have
- 30:12Speaker 3: context because I've never seen the movie.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Oh okay, so let me give you context. I don't
- 30:17Speaker 1: know if you know much about were wolf folklore, but
- 30:20Speaker 1: they do have something like little ducks called imprinting, where
- 30:25Speaker 1: a werewolf will run into another were wolf from another
- 30:29Speaker 1: pack and be like, you are my mate. You are
- 30:31Speaker 1: my mate for life. We are soul connected twin flames,
- 30:35Speaker 1: if you will, sure it happens to Taylor Lautner's character,
- 30:41Speaker 1: Jacob the werewolf to the baby. What the baby? And
- 30:46Speaker 1: that's how they justify him being attracted to Bella the
- 30:49Speaker 1: entire time, but not being her soulmate. He was attracted
- 30:53Speaker 1: to her little egg in her uterus, her little unfertilized egg.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Here's the thing, as I embark on the dissection, the forensics,
- 31:04Speaker 3: if you will, of the last thirty ten years of
- 31:07Speaker 3: my life, wondering why I'm still a failure, and when
- 31:12Speaker 3: you tell me things like this, and this woman has
- 31:14Speaker 3: sold millions upon millions of copies of this book, millions,
- 31:18Speaker 3: and I still can't catch a fucking break in any
- 31:21Speaker 3: of the creative endeavors I have taken.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Also, so then they go, wait a minute, Jacob, what
- 31:27Speaker 1: you're attracted to a baby? That's not great, that's not good.
- 31:31Speaker 1: You can't you never want to be out with your
- 31:34Speaker 1: bros and hear him go, you see that toddler over there?
- 31:37Speaker 1: Ooh no, it's bad.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I don't even want to be out with my bros.
- 31:43Speaker 3: And hear them say, see that twenty four year old
- 31:45Speaker 3: because everybody in my life is over thirty five and
- 31:49Speaker 3: in their forties. Okay, Like, no, I don't see that
- 31:54Speaker 3: twenty four year old.
- 31:54Speaker 2: What I see is you're too old for her.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I an id Taylor to know that I love him
- 32:01Speaker 1: and this was a crime that was done to him.
- 32:03Speaker 1: He's such a little.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Cutie, Patutia. I love watching him on night late night TV.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I love watching him. I love I cried when he
- 32:09Speaker 1: showed up at the aerostour. I cried when he did
- 32:12Speaker 1: his like front tuck or like yeah yeah, showing.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Up at the air store was such a boss move
- 32:17Speaker 3: with such a classic mood like that.
- 32:19Speaker 2: He like such a that's a stand up guy.
- 32:22Speaker 1: He's not my ex, but I picture him every time
- 32:25Speaker 1: I sank. Back to December, yeah I and back to
- 32:31Speaker 1: December is my favorite speak now track. Yeah. It goes
- 32:35Speaker 1: hard so to try and justify it because they're like Jacob,
- 32:41Speaker 1: that's that great. You shouldn't be that's an infant.
- 32:44Speaker 3: It's a literal literal, baby, stop it so crapy, Like
- 32:49Speaker 3: he gets like all Taylor Locker.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Puffed up, and he's like, like that don't like that
- 32:56Speaker 1: when they're little. He's like, because grown ups, grown ups
- 32:59Speaker 1: are print on children all the time. And what ends
- 33:02Speaker 1: up happening is is like you're their really good cousin brother,
- 33:06Speaker 1: and then.
- 33:06Speaker 2: You get to put them when they're older.
- 33:08Speaker 1: And I'm like, it's so bad because now we know
- 33:10Speaker 1: about Crowby.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I'm so maybe I don't want to do it.
- 33:17Speaker 1: In doubt. It was written out in print. Everybody we know,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I don't type it out. You had to type it
- 33:24Speaker 1: out and then read it out loud and then send
- 33:26Speaker 1: it to an editor, and then an editor went bet
- 33:29Speaker 1: and printed the Cook and it's sold millions. And these
- 33:34Speaker 1: types of men are dangerous.
- 33:36Speaker 3: So I just feel like, also, it's very telling about
- 33:40Speaker 3: where we were in the world at the time of
- 33:42Speaker 3: its release.
- 33:43Speaker 1: M hm. So, so these men are dangerous and I
- 33:51Speaker 1: and here's the thing.
- 33:52Speaker 3: They varying degrees because I feel like there is a
- 33:55Speaker 3: little bit less danger with a painted the wall the
- 33:59Speaker 3: color of your eyes versus I'm attracted to the egg
- 34:02Speaker 3: in your fucking uterus.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Ha Yep, my body has the same fear response, and
- 34:06Speaker 1: that's by right as an American.
- 34:08Speaker 3: It is absolutely, absolutely it is. You were one hundred
- 34:12Speaker 3: percent correct.
- 34:13Speaker 1: So, and I do think that they could They could
- 34:17Speaker 1: have made me sold on this if they had removed
- 34:20Speaker 1: the Zodiac killer parts, if they didn't have him like
- 34:23Speaker 1: tracking her, if they didn't have him. She's wearing a
- 34:27Speaker 1: very tennis skirt with no and I had three voters
- 34:32Speaker 1: and I wanted to kiss her five types. I hate it?
- 34:38Speaker 1: What are you doing with that data? Run away?
- 34:43Speaker 3: He's gonna make our presentation at the end of the year.
- 34:47Speaker 3: He's got power Point. He unlocked the layers of power
- 34:50Speaker 3: Point that no one else understands it. So he can
- 34:54Speaker 3: do eggs, so he can do a whole presentation on
- 34:58Speaker 3: why he and Lucy to date.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Oh Mario, Hello.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Hi Mario. It's just him in New York and Company
- 35:05Speaker 1: or J. C. Penny's like work slat, but he's clearly
- 35:10Speaker 1: hard and it's like that's the water bark on all
- 35:14Speaker 1: the slides.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Though, because she's like like like cornflower blue, true blue
- 35:23Speaker 3: white gray window pane. That's not the order she says
- 35:26Speaker 3: it in, but she does it too well.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah, because he only wears like differing shades of charcoal.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 35:36Speaker 3: I mean so if and then she's like and then
- 35:39Speaker 3: when she's delirious with the fever, she's like gray window pane,
- 35:45Speaker 3: true white, cornflower, true blue, and he's like, eh.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Eh and I And honestly, it's all because of how
- 35:55Speaker 1: that office is set up. And I would like to
- 35:57Speaker 1: go back to my original statement where if you have
- 36:00Speaker 1: to share an office with someone, it should be illegal
- 36:04Speaker 1: for them to set up your desks to where you're
- 36:06Speaker 1: just staring at one another. Yeah.
- 36:08Speaker 3: I don't want my back to any point entry points though.
- 36:11Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Then, Julia, you have to fight for the death for
- 36:15Speaker 1: that positioning or whatever. But to like that was zodiac
- 36:19Speaker 1: killer behavior, to have to sit every day at work
- 36:23Speaker 1: and stare across and make eye contact with someone else
- 36:26Speaker 1: who is just trying to find their own business.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Right, Oh it's.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Crompe this day. I should have made you watch my
- 36:36Speaker 1: favorite Christmas Deity.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I would have died probably.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I mean they could have, so they could have won
- 36:46Speaker 1: me back if they had taken out like the serial
- 36:48Speaker 1: killer moments where he tracked her outfits and painted his
- 36:52Speaker 1: home the exact shade of her eyes his bedroom.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I mean, I feel like that decinction makes a big difference.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Just whacking it off to her, I call, I need her.
- 37:03Speaker 2: As close to me as possible. So it's going to
- 37:05Speaker 2: be my bedroom, can't be the kitchen.
- 37:08Speaker 1: And you know he's pressed himself against that wall. You
- 37:10Speaker 1: know he's licked that wall. You know that there's been
- 37:13Speaker 1: like a a soft cry right now, you know there's
- 37:19Speaker 1: been a soft cry. He's bastardated on that wall. He
- 37:23Speaker 1: had described that wall before he invited her over.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Do you want me to read you the back of
- 37:27Speaker 2: the book?
- 37:28Speaker 1: Hold out? I have a point. Sorry, he's not getting
- 37:31Speaker 1: to it.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Look, And if they had actually done the tip for
- 37:35Speaker 1: tat thing to where I saw them interact, and I
- 37:38Speaker 1: saw them start to realize that the reason why they're
- 37:41Speaker 1: so annoyed with one another is because they're the same person. Yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 1: and they're attracted to one another and whatever she doesn't
- 37:48Speaker 1: have he has, and all of it, then I would
- 37:51Speaker 1: have been sold on the love story at the end,
- 37:53Speaker 1: and I would be like, oh good, he quit his
- 37:55Speaker 1: job and now no one has to worry about workplace
- 37:58Speaker 1: sexual harassment. No, but you're you're right, good, it was
- 38:02Speaker 1: full of serial killer bullshit.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Well because the point where, like the build up to
- 38:08Speaker 3: the point to where we get to the elevator, wasn't
- 38:11Speaker 3: enough for us to understand that they are the same.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Because they work so hard to show their.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Differences, right, Like, his space is gray, clean, sleek, not cluttered.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Her space is like super cozy, totally what we think
- 38:24Speaker 3: a book person's space looks like. Right, And then they
- 38:27Speaker 3: don't do enough to show us their similarities in any way,
- 38:31Speaker 3: shape or form.
- 38:32Speaker 1: They also go from charcoal gray to fifty shades of
- 38:35Speaker 1: gray within a moment with one mini skirt. All of
- 38:38Speaker 1: a sudden, she's a dominatrix. Yeah, I wore that's an
- 38:42Speaker 1: I don't have panties. And I was like, who says
- 38:44Speaker 1: that out loud in your office?
- 38:45Speaker 2: Right?
- 38:46Speaker 3: Like that also was like a moment where I'm just like, oh, like,
- 38:49Speaker 3: this has never been the vibe.
- 38:50Speaker 1: This has never been the vibe in this office. And
- 38:52Speaker 1: now all of a sudden, you're telling him that you
- 38:54Speaker 1: don't wear panties and you're teasing him and you're flapping
- 38:57Speaker 1: in the wind. Yeah, and I'm com and he's painted
- 39:01Speaker 1: his bedroom your eye color, and I cannot and I
- 39:05Speaker 1: will not this man is dangerous.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and to also continue to add on to that,
- 39:11Speaker 3: there isn't any sort of like, oh god, I lost
- 39:14Speaker 3: my train.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Also, I don't like either one of them. That is
- 39:18Speaker 1: a note in my outline. I was like, I don't
- 39:20Speaker 1: like either one of them. I go, I want her
- 39:23Speaker 1: to run away from him, because I do find him dangerous,
- 39:26Speaker 1: but I also don't like her because she's also kind
- 39:32Speaker 1: of just shitty and petty and then wants to use
- 39:35Speaker 1: him as like a vibrator. But also but but then
- 39:41Speaker 1: I also thought that him why.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Petty in a fun way? Because petty can be fun.
- 39:45Speaker 3: There's petty, there's fun petty, and then there's petty where
- 39:48Speaker 3: you're just like, this is really scary and harmful.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Well, and and then every time he would whine because
- 39:56Speaker 1: she was playing the game that he set forward through
- 40:00Speaker 1: years of them being shitty to one another, I was like,
- 40:03Speaker 1: why the fuck are you whiny? You've never written in
- 40:07Speaker 1: a fucking company Christmas card and left it on her desk.
- 40:10Speaker 1: I'm in love with you. It's you. I painted my
- 40:13Speaker 1: bedroom while your.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Or like the flowers.
- 40:16Speaker 3: The next day and she assumes it's Danny because the
- 40:19Speaker 3: hammer and flower and like like and then he doesn't
- 40:23Speaker 3: correct her when she's like, oh, Danny sent me flowers,
- 40:26Speaker 3: and he's like.
- 40:28Speaker 1: And it's like that.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, yeah, there were a lot of opportunities
- 40:33Speaker 3: to sort of build more of that, like planting more
- 40:37Speaker 3: of those seeds of like, hey, it was me because like, hey,
- 40:40Speaker 3: I do like you, because it is kind of out
- 40:42Speaker 3: of the blue.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah. And the thing that like makes my body feel
- 40:46Speaker 1: like I'm being bitten by fire ants throughout every time
- 40:51Speaker 1: that Ann talks is because like it's it's one of
- 40:55Speaker 1: those things where it's never enough, but you're also doing
- 40:59Speaker 1: two much, and that's another way to gaslight you where
- 41:03Speaker 1: it's like I don't want you to show up at
- 41:06Speaker 1: my place, why are you here? Yeah, and then you
- 41:10Speaker 1: leave and then he texts you the next day. I
- 41:12Speaker 1: can't believe that you left. It's never enough, but it's
- 41:15Speaker 1: also always too much.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:17Speaker 3: There's another scene too, and it's quick because this time
- 41:20Speaker 3: I actually noticed it and you know, I've seen this
- 41:22Speaker 3: movie a billion times and it only came out in
- 41:24Speaker 3: twenty twenty one.
- 41:25Speaker 2: That tells you the state of my life.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Where she's doing something and the camera cuts to him
- 41:31Speaker 3: and he's looking at her and his face is soft
- 41:33Speaker 3: and kind of filled with love, but it's quick, and
- 41:36Speaker 3: so I noticed it this time, and I was like,
- 41:38Speaker 3: that's still not enough to signal to the audience that
- 41:41Speaker 3: he loves her.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it's a badly it is a badly done movie.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I love Lucy Hale. I've always loved Lucy Hale. I
- 41:53Speaker 1: think she's adorable. Maybe she was the best pretty little liar.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I remember what I said before, Go ahead.
- 41:59Speaker 1: But in no way, shape or form should you ever
- 42:03Speaker 1: be watching a movie and go, wow, Lucy Hale is
- 42:07Speaker 1: acting circles around these motherfuckers right right.
- 42:12Speaker 2: And I'm like, and she really, I mean, she's the
- 42:15Speaker 2: best part of that movie.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because again, like I said before, it feels like
- 42:19Speaker 3: he's reading a script.
- 42:20Speaker 2: They're the The erotic.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Dream scene also kind of fell out of the blue
- 42:25Speaker 3: because there wasn't any sexual tension in their fight. To me,
- 42:31Speaker 3: it didn't have the sexual tension in the fight to
- 42:34Speaker 3: signal for her to have that sort of like steamy
- 42:37Speaker 3: dream about him later.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Well.
- 42:39Speaker 1: And also they didn't build up enough of a like
- 42:41Speaker 1: biting banter between the two of them to where I
- 42:45Speaker 1: understood why she told him about the steamy dream to
- 42:49Speaker 1: begin with, yeacause I do know that, like sometimes your
- 42:52Speaker 1: dreams be wild when you're angry or frustrated or or
- 42:55Speaker 1: whatever in your brain's trying to like let go of
- 42:58Speaker 1: some of that. But then her to just be like, yeah,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I had a sex dream about my co worker, what
- 43:03Speaker 1: do you want? And I'm yea, why would you even
- 43:06Speaker 1: tell him? Right? None thing about that made sense.
- 43:11Speaker 3: The other kind of super trophy thing was Dan was
- 43:14Speaker 3: the way they presented Danny.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I was really hoping that he won it. At
- 43:20Speaker 1: the end of the day. I was like, this nice
- 43:22Speaker 1: boy who isn't stalking you and.
- 43:26Speaker 3: And it's been in love with her since the day one.
- 43:27Speaker 3: But like the way that they style him, the way
- 43:30Speaker 3: that they have him present himself, And I'm like, is
- 43:34Speaker 3: Danny like that in the book, because like he's really
- 43:37Speaker 3: great on paper?
- 43:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And then all of the in cells have
- 43:42Speaker 1: a leg to stand on where they're like, women don't
- 43:45Speaker 1: like good guys. They like guys who hate them, And
- 43:47Speaker 1: it's like, well, it's because secretly the good guys hate
- 43:50Speaker 1: us too. The nice guy hates us too, Like I
- 43:55Speaker 1: don't know, but yeah, the moment when he's like a track.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I have a chart in my day planner and I
- 44:03Speaker 1: try that's that's it. That's it for my nightmare. It
- 44:07Speaker 1: is my nightmare. I number. Also, you know that my
- 44:12Speaker 1: new rule is if you meet your partner's dad and
- 44:16Speaker 1: that man feels entitled and privileged to be awful, to
- 44:21Speaker 1: hit on you, to be mean to your partner's wife
- 44:26Speaker 1: in front of you, or whatever, and you look at
- 44:28Speaker 1: your male partner and you can see that he's bothered
- 44:31Speaker 1: by that, but he's never worked through it. You have
- 44:35Speaker 1: to run away. You have to run away because you're
- 44:38Speaker 1: next your next well.
- 44:42Speaker 3: And you know, men aren't really taught to work throughout
- 44:44Speaker 3: their emotions. They have to be dependent on women. And
- 44:47Speaker 3: that's not me saying it. It is a justification. That's
- 44:49Speaker 3: just me stating, like men are dependent on women to
- 44:52Speaker 3: process their emotions for them, and that's the problem.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to like you have to be like
- 44:58Speaker 1: that wedding would have made me go and I have
- 45:00Speaker 1: to go home, and I would have never seen the
- 45:03Speaker 1: green bedroom and I would have gotten to live my
- 45:06Speaker 1: life not having my entire like I was, like.
- 45:11Speaker 3: You wouldn't have fallen in love with him if you
- 45:12Speaker 3: hadn't seen the Green bedroom.
- 45:18Speaker 1: It bothered me so much. I was like, you have
- 45:21Speaker 1: to run away. You would have to run away, you
- 45:26Speaker 1: have to lead.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Why isn't she running away because he's a foot taller
- 45:31Speaker 2: than her. She takes three steps in the way that
- 45:34Speaker 2: he takes half.
- 45:35Speaker 1: A step, right, I was like, oh my god, she's dead.
- 45:39Speaker 1: She's dead.
- 45:40Speaker 3: She's a little compared to him, Like she's a solid
- 45:45Speaker 3: foot she's a solid foot shorter.
- 45:48Speaker 1: I'm making a lot of jokes, but this is how
- 45:50Speaker 1: we talk about serial killers. Like he was always nice.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Eddie has puppy around and he named that puppy after her,
- 45:57Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden she was dead and
- 46:00Speaker 1: so was the puppy. And then he got another puppy
- 46:02Speaker 1: to name after the next victim, and we never.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Caught of It's like in the episode of Full House
- 46:09Speaker 3: where that woman that Jesse used to date but Danny's
- 46:12Speaker 3: now dating, has a puppy that she named Jesse.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Uh huh yeah. I'm like, run away, you have to
- 46:20Speaker 1: run away, you have to run away, because, like, honestly,
- 46:22Speaker 1: I was like, that's gonna be evidence in a CSI episode.
- 46:25Speaker 1: They're gonna be like we found a day planner where
- 46:27Speaker 1: he was literally tracking her entire wardrobe and marking boners
- 46:36Speaker 1: and I'd be like, yes, sir, please arrest him.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Sure.
- 46:42Speaker 1: It's like you should have seen me, because like I
- 46:46Speaker 1: put down my switch, I put down my phone. I
- 46:50Speaker 1: just gave myself over to the panic. I was like,
- 46:53Speaker 1: this doesn't feel good. I go. This feels like love bombing,
- 46:56Speaker 1: This feels like manipulation, this feels like gaslighting.
- 47:00Speaker 2: He's hot, he's cold.
- 47:02Speaker 1: He screams at her because she's trying to play by
- 47:04Speaker 1: the new rules. But he's like, no, I want the
- 47:06Speaker 1: rules from three days ago. And I'm like, and it
- 47:09Speaker 1: all happened in a three week span, And I was like,
- 47:12Speaker 1: you have to run away. I was like, was his
- 47:14Speaker 1: bedroom always that color green? You would have to run away,
- 47:19Speaker 1: run quickly. You have to, you have to, And I
- 47:25Speaker 1: have to believe that in the book there's more context,
- 47:29Speaker 1: and Hulu just went naw. I I believe because there
- 47:35Speaker 1: were also parts of red white and royal blue. I
- 47:38Speaker 1: loved red white and Royal blue so cute. But the
- 47:42Speaker 1: entire time, I was like, this is moving too quickly. Yeah,
- 47:45Speaker 1: one of them is coming off as predatory because of
- 47:47Speaker 1: how quickly this is moving. Yeah, yeah, and they've never
- 47:50Speaker 1: had conversations before, and now you're inside someone and I
- 47:54Speaker 1: don't understand, and there has to be more context in
- 47:58Speaker 1: this book. And I should really read this book because
- 48:01Speaker 1: I am enamored by these two and I haven't read
- 48:04Speaker 1: the book yet. That's on me.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I have two copies, actually, one collector's edition and one
- 48:10Speaker 3: is the one that I read.
- 48:13Speaker 2: The collector's edition has an extra extra chapter. It's so good.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Here on one of the days that I'm visiting the
- 48:20Speaker 1: reading salon news happening. So there we go. It's true,
- 48:24Speaker 1: but in this book, I couldn't get past it. I
- 48:27Speaker 1: was like, no, he's too volatile, and.
- 48:32Speaker 2: We have so, but they haven't painted to not be.
- 48:37Speaker 3: So it's like, like you're pointing out it's volatile and
- 48:40Speaker 3: disguise because he is pretty even throughout the entire movie
- 48:45Speaker 3: until until she's like, hey, let's just bang it out
- 48:49Speaker 3: and get it over with and he's like, and get
- 48:51Speaker 3: the fuck out of my house right now.
- 48:53Speaker 1: I'm insecul baby, And I've been to therapy, so I've
- 48:57Speaker 1: seen the feelings wheel wherever he feeling is just a
- 49:00Speaker 1: secret feeling into skies. I've seen it. They used it
- 49:05Speaker 1: I'm married at first sight that I binged over the weeknd.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Oh I love that. Yeah, we should always talk about
- 49:12Speaker 2: our feelings.
- 49:12Speaker 1: We should always talk about our feelings.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Vulnerability should not be weaponized.
- 49:16Speaker 1: So then when we saw his dad, I was like, oh,
- 49:19Speaker 1: he has all of the same anger issues as his dad.
- 49:22Speaker 1: YEA really is a villain, Yea truly. And I was like,
- 49:26Speaker 1: they just present as sad boy bullshit, and sad boys
- 49:30Speaker 1: get a break because they're sad, and we're upset that
- 49:34Speaker 1: they're sad. And I'm like, I'm not upset that he's
- 49:36Speaker 1: said I am still very much afraid of this man.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Yeah, And his dad's like, isn't my first son like
- 49:43Speaker 3: the most amazing and brilliant and look at how fantastic
- 49:47Speaker 3: and gorgeous he is, And it was like my second
- 49:49Speaker 3: son like the most disappointing thing in the entire world.
- 49:53Speaker 1: And again I was like, you know, we know when
- 49:55Speaker 1: our families feel that way about us, but no one
- 49:58Speaker 1: says it out loud at a wedding. However, I was
- 50:02Speaker 1: at my aunt's house during college and it was probably
- 50:08Speaker 1: during a holiday, and my mother's cousin asked me how
- 50:12Speaker 1: school was going, and I was like, well, Bubbs, I
- 50:16Speaker 1: actually made Honor Roller Jean's List or whatever the fuck
- 50:19Speaker 1: I had made, and Bubbs was like, oh my god,
- 50:23Speaker 1: that's so great. Andamily, you're like champion of our lives.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Like you know, he's my uncle Chokey's son, so they
- 50:30Speaker 1: love me in a way that will never be replicated.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and.
- 50:38Speaker 1: One of my parents, and we'll all just guess which
- 50:40Speaker 1: one went. Yeah, you think she could have pulled off
- 50:45Speaker 1: those grades the last few years in high school? So
- 50:47Speaker 1: I have to shell out as much money for college.
- 50:52Speaker 1: And I was just like, I'm just gonna go kill myself.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I'll just go drown myself comment because Sarah comment the
- 51:01Speaker 1: same cousin. So I was a late in life driver
- 51:04Speaker 1: because driving is anxiety inducing.
- 51:07Speaker 2: And I also was a late in life driver because
- 51:10Speaker 2: it is expensive.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Yes, and my first big trauma was my grandma dying
- 51:16Speaker 1: of cancer when I was fifteen going on sixteen. So
- 51:21Speaker 1: every time I was practicing driving, it was always like
- 51:25Speaker 1: we were either talking about Grandma or someone was like
- 51:28Speaker 1: or an uncle was trying to help me or whatever.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Or sometime I think maybe like if we were on
- 51:35Speaker 1: a country road, my mom would let me drive to
- 51:38Speaker 1: practice or whatever, and I hated it. And after my
- 51:41Speaker 1: Grandma died, that was my first brush with like, oh,
- 51:44Speaker 1: this will be the depression that I struggle with for
- 51:46Speaker 1: the rest of my life until I medicated, and then
- 51:48Speaker 1: I'll just like kind of struggle. Yeah, I'll just get
- 51:53Speaker 1: like the little mind sprints, And so I never went
- 51:59Speaker 1: into practice. Driving freaks me out. One of the very
- 52:02Speaker 1: first times that I made a mistake during driving, I
- 52:05Speaker 1: ended up in a ditch and I was basically told,
- 52:08Speaker 1: you got yourself in the ditch, get yourself out of
- 52:10Speaker 1: the ditch. And I got out of the car and
- 52:12Speaker 1: I was like, I know where home is and I'll
- 52:14Speaker 1: just walk there because don't see me needing help, and
- 52:19Speaker 1: then tell me to figure it out. I'm crying. I'm
- 52:23Speaker 1: worried that I've ruined the car. Like so I was
- 52:27Speaker 1: a late in life driver. Same cousin is also telling
- 52:33Speaker 1: me that maybe one of his kids, or maybe one
- 52:37Speaker 1: of the one of my other cousins was a late
- 52:39Speaker 1: in life driver. And before I can even say, like,
- 52:45Speaker 1: it's just because it makes me, and I think I
- 52:48Speaker 1: did say, I go. It just makes me really stressed
- 52:50Speaker 1: out and nervous, and I don't like doing it. Uh,
- 52:54Speaker 1: so my feelings are spoken out and same parent goes, yeah,
- 52:59Speaker 1: she thinks she like it was something among the line though,
- 53:01Speaker 1: smartest kid in the world but can't learn how to drive.
- 53:05Speaker 1: I was like, and now for the rest of my life,
- 53:09Speaker 1: my family thinks that I'm a bad driver. Whenever I
- 53:14Speaker 1: show up anywhere safely, they're like, oh my god, you
- 53:16Speaker 1: really did that, oh on the way here.
- 53:22Speaker 3: And it's not like you have evidence showing that you're
- 53:25Speaker 3: a bad driver. Yeah, Like we called my dad called
- 53:28Speaker 3: my sister crash because in the period of like a year,
- 53:32Speaker 3: she had like three or four car accidents.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I have damaged two cars, I have backed into a
- 53:38Speaker 1: car not paying attention, and I have damaged my own
- 53:42Speaker 1: car trying to get out of a parking garage because
- 53:44Speaker 1: I because when you have ADHD, you have spatial awareness issues.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Also, cars aren't designed for women's eye lines, right, So
- 53:55Speaker 1: I just let a giant ass traffic cone that they
- 53:58Speaker 1: used to like block the entrance of the parking grudge
- 54:01Speaker 1: when it's closed, I just let it like run through
- 54:04Speaker 1: my car and when I'll just think about that when
- 54:07Speaker 1: I get home.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Oh, Also, when snow apocalypse happened, the only way to
- 54:12Speaker 1: get my car out was to just like let the
- 54:17Speaker 1: snow dript take part of like a cosmetic part of
- 54:21Speaker 1: the vehicle. I was like, yep, I because again I
- 54:26Speaker 1: don't care what the car looks like. I have places
- 54:29Speaker 1: I'm the same like to do.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I literally don't care what my car looks like. People
- 54:33Speaker 2: are like, you need to get a car wash. I'm like,
- 54:35Speaker 2: do I would you like to take it through the
- 54:37Speaker 2: car wash for me? Because it is.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Not that it's stressful, but it's like the line is
- 54:42Speaker 3: always so long I'm not waiting for thirty minutes that
- 54:44Speaker 3: it's not an effective use of my time.
- 54:46Speaker 1: The car wash is stressful when is my car ever
- 54:49Speaker 1: in neutral? And like I don't know when to hook
- 54:52Speaker 1: it onto the f I don't know how the car
- 54:54Speaker 1: wash works well.
- 54:55Speaker 3: And I can't take Josephine through it with me because
- 54:57Speaker 3: she does, like legitimately freak out. And if I go
- 55:00Speaker 3: into the car to do something that isn't like going
- 55:03Speaker 3: to the grocery store, like where I can just stay
- 55:05Speaker 3: in the car to.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Run my errands, I take her with me.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm missing hubcaps and my and my family
- 55:12Speaker 3: members are like, well, we can get you hubcaps. I'm
- 55:14Speaker 3: like no, because every time they rotate my tires, the
- 55:16Speaker 3: hub caps go flying off within days and that's scary.
- 55:22Speaker 1: So anyways, what we've learned here, ladies and girls, gays
- 55:27Speaker 1: and things, it's who we're here for is should you
- 55:31Speaker 1: ever walk into a man's home and he'll be like,
- 55:34Speaker 1: do you like the way that I redecorated? And you'll
- 55:36Speaker 1: be like, oh, did you redecorate and he'd be like, yeah,
- 55:40Speaker 1: I painted the kitchen the exact red of your favorite scarf.
- 55:46Speaker 1: You have to run away if you're not dating that man,
- 55:50Speaker 1: if you're not married to that man, if that man
- 55:52Speaker 1: has not been anything but mean to you, and then
- 55:56Speaker 1: all of a sudden he's like, that's the color of
- 55:59Speaker 1: your eyes. Though. You have to run away.
- 56:02Speaker 2: You have to leave. It is imperative, you pleased dependent
- 56:06Speaker 2: on it.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Men like this have to be stopped. Like the teas
- 56:11Speaker 1: like there's lighthearted banter and there's light hearted and teasing,
- 56:16Speaker 1: but he was like legitimately shitty to her.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I dated a guy who man, he was cute.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Oh it was so hot and he was very very
- 56:26Speaker 3: very good fun to look at and making out with
- 56:29Speaker 3: him is real nice.
- 56:30Speaker 2: But he loved to do the mean banter.
- 56:35Speaker 3: And like the picking on, and I know being a
- 56:38Speaker 3: child of people who do that, it turns into bitterness
- 56:41Speaker 3: and resentment. And I was like, I don't want that.
- 56:43Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I have to break up with you, like
- 56:45Speaker 3: this is over. And we had some pretty good chemistry,
- 56:48Speaker 3: Like it's insane. I've never had like that. I that
- 56:52Speaker 3: was some pretty intense chemistry I've ever experienced. And he
- 56:55Speaker 3: was like, I can't believe you're gonna walk away from
- 56:57Speaker 3: this because in twenty years, you don't want us to
- 56:59Speaker 3: hate each other or some shit like that.
- 57:01Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, yeah, sorry, your personality sucks.
- 57:06Speaker 3: We just don't want to be like teased like that
- 57:08Speaker 3: every day all day, like it's exhausting.
- 57:11Speaker 1: When some of my younger cousins went to college and
- 57:14Speaker 1: they thought that freshman week, the week where you make
- 57:16Speaker 1: all of your life long friends for college and you
- 57:20Speaker 1: have themed days and whatever, was bullshit and they didn't
- 57:22Speaker 1: want to go. An adult in my life was like,
- 57:25Speaker 1: you know, maybe we really should have shield your kids,
- 57:29Speaker 1: you kids from the sarcasm, because you guys like literally
- 57:34Speaker 1: think everything is bullshit. I don't know, like my first
- 57:37Speaker 1: instinct is this is bullshit, and I've had to like
- 57:39Speaker 1: rewrite that code, yeah, and learn how to enjoy things same.
- 57:44Speaker 3: I mean I told you. I think I told you offline.
- 57:46Speaker 3: I was like, I think that I am the problem
- 57:49Speaker 3: because I the whole time I was participating in something,
- 57:52Speaker 3: I was just heckling in my head and I was like,
- 57:54Speaker 3: you know what, you need to stop. It's fine, Like
- 57:59Speaker 3: there's no reason to hecking. Why are you heckling?
- 58:02Speaker 1: And I was like I was. I was like, Jules
- 58:06Speaker 1: is gonna once again share a movie with me. That's
- 58:09Speaker 1: important to her, and she probably read the fucking book.
- 58:11Speaker 2: It's not that important to me.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I just he's hot, and then I'm gonna have the story, Julia,
- 58:17Speaker 1: men are dangerous.
- 58:20Speaker 2: I feel like you're always having to tell me this though, Like.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Well, like I didn't have a panic attack. When Steve
- 58:26Speaker 1: Bouchemi was shooting a gun in space and had Space Aventure,
- 58:30Speaker 1: I was like, Steve boche you quit it.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Well, it's not like he was trying to like convince
- 58:35Speaker 3: like the lady scientists to marry him, right, he just.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Saw a robot. It was like, I will play with
- 58:42Speaker 1: that robot.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Like I just feel like I just okay, here's the thing, Natalie,
- 58:50Speaker 3: I apologize.
- 58:51Speaker 1: He was also so bad at acting. Yeah, that also
- 58:56Speaker 1: made me mad. I was like, you're not even good
- 58:57Speaker 1: at manipulating, You're.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Gonna be good at this.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I do want to.
- 59:02Speaker 3: I do wonder though, if that's who he is all
- 59:04Speaker 3: the time. Like I made a comment to somebody, I said,
- 59:07Speaker 3: I really want to see anyone but you, But I'm
- 59:10Speaker 3: really disappointed because I don't think Sidney Sweeney is a
- 59:14Speaker 3: very good actress.
- 59:15Speaker 2: I'm a controversial opinion.
- 59:18Speaker 3: That's literally I said. I said, controversial opinion. I don't
- 59:20Speaker 3: think Sidney Sweeney is a good actress. And literally ten
- 59:23Speaker 3: people were in my DMS and they're like, she's not
- 59:25Speaker 3: and it's like okay. I was like, okay, I don't know.
- 59:28Speaker 3: She keeps getting hired. She's fucking gorgeous.
- 59:31Speaker 2: And like what it is?
- 59:32Speaker 1: This is why I'm obsessed with her. The new trend
- 59:36Speaker 1: is to be serving a lot of kunt at all times. Yeah,
- 59:40Speaker 1: Sidney Sweeney serves kunt just by like land state at
- 59:44Speaker 1: you and you're like, I don't know what I did,
- 59:46Speaker 1: but I'm sorry, I don't know.
- 59:48Speaker 3: So maybe she should invest in doing pantomime instead, because,
- 59:52Speaker 3: like I watched the trailer of that movie, and I'm like, oh,
- 59:56Speaker 3: Glenn Powell saves this movie because he's like so invested
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: in being that guy.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: And then it sounds like she's reading a script.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I think she's so good in Euphoria for whatever reason
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: I watched.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: I've watched the first the first hat I've watched.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: I'm like two episodes from being done with season one,
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: but like taking in season one in a binging manner.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Was so much that I'm still like, it's a lot
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: for me, you know, my emotions.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Anyway, The way that you feel when watching Euphoria is
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: how I felt while watching that man tried to convince
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Lucy Hale that he was in love with her and
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: that everything was fine. Well, everything is not fine.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: I will read the book and report back.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I I mean, as we know, we don't have
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: to redeem men to no, you know, remain dangerous.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: No.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: I still I'm still curious because Danny's got to be
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: There's got to be stuff that was eleaded that they
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: were like, oh, that doesn't matter, but then you then
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: you're like no, but then my neck hurts from whiplash.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Right, I need the author to weigh in. I need
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: the author to be like, yes, they did ruin my
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: book like they did a hack job. Authors would never
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I make a lot of money once your movie gets adapted.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I wish they would, but they would never.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: And they pretend they were like producing credits and writing credits, like, oh,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: they were involved, but they're not.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: It's name only, it's so.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: But I did learn from our hot doing our heart
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: stopper episode. The gal who wrote the graphic novels or
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: the person who wrote the graphic novels wrote the scripts,
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: good for her.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Alice Osman.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Austinman, you know who you are.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: I'm fucking obsessed with you. I don't remember who it was,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Yes I do. It was my friend Gianna. No, no,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: it was someone else. Said I was just out to
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: dinner or lunch with because you're popular. Because I'm so popular,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: I have too many friends to keep track of. But anyways,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: one at someone's all over my face. Someone somewhere believe
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: backed me up on how Nick should have been a
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: big dumb Oah the entire time, someone backed me up,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: and I was like, I will.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Die on this I will die on this hill. And
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: if you don't know what.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: We're talking about you need to go to the Jellypops
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: book Club and wherever you find your podcast and listen
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: to the heart stopper episode, like.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: That sweet Baby Angel did a fine job, and like
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: that show should be winning awards. But I deserved a
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: heart stopper. Oh maybe it was Sam. I deserved a
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: heart stopper where Nick was a big dumb ass. Oh
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: the entire time, because it's part of the story.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't wait for volume five to release. I'm
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: so excited.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: But anyway, that's.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: What I should have told people I wanted for Christmas,
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: and then I've I would have gotten sixteen copies. We've
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: run a little long whooee because they haven't done one
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: in a while.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I hope we actually talked about the movie. I think
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: I just went into so I had a panic attack.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: No, I did talk about the movie, and you know what,
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: I think we did a great job at analyzing it.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, let's write a thesis based on this conversation alone.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Like if someone wants to get their PhD off of
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: what I say, you let me know. But yeah, that
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: type of man be dangerous and I'm so tired. I'm
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: so I've also not personally but I have been getting
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: a lot of information lately via married at per site
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: and the personal people in my lives about men who
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: have duped and used like love bombing and gaslighting and
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: telling you that everything's okay and it's all a big dupe.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: So maybe it wasn't the Christmas Watch, But.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I mean that also could be true, real and true.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: I always worry about like that kind of stuff because
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: I am a skeptic.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: When I know, I'm like, oh, I love love and
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: love is my favorite thing and I want my life
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: to bottle up brom com. But there are there's a
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: graveyard of men who will tell you how hard it
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: was to break through this brick wall, cement wall.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: And if you're out there wondering why Napley, what was
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: the last roum com that made you squishy on the
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: inside and in your pants? It wasn't a rom com.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: It was a dark comedy and it was Saltburn that
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: burns so good. I was fucking raring to go the
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: entire time of Selburn. I was like, this is dark,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: this is fucking weird.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: I was talking with a friend about it because Jacob
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: A Lordie is going to be the new.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Whatever for Twilight.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: Edward and my friend who I was talking to about
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: this loves Twilight. It's her Roman Empire, and so she
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: was like, I just don't see it from the pictures.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: I was like, ma'am, go see Saltburn because Emerald Funnel
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: gives us the thirst traps, of thirst.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Traps of that young man.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: And I had to confirm that he is of legal
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: age because the thirst traps of that young man were
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: so good.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Selbourne was so weird, and the entire time I was like,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: oh yeah, I just can't wait to be hoped the
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: thanks Emerald.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I mean somebody, I bet somebody has.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: I was like, somebody needs to put a montage together
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: of just those thirst traps because.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Wow, like the way he just the way she.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: Captures him, just like looking at the camera like we're
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: watching him through Oliver's eyes.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Ah, so good.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: What I love the most about Emerald Funnel is that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: on called The Midwife, she plays the most beautiful, put together,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: like no nonsense, yeah, gets everything right, gets everything done
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: midwife that that show's ever seen.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: And then she's a cold cock weirdo the lady in
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: the streets, but a freaking the sheet, and I'm like,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: I see you, Emerald, And.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Do you think it's because she played Camela Parker Bowls
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: on the Crown that that just like unlocked it for her?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And she had to have some guy who was trying
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: to convince us that King Charles was ever good looking
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: gaslight her into believing that telling her that he wanted
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: to be her dampon was the sexy come on, such
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: the weirdest.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: The fact that he could overcome that is insane to me.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: See, I want to be your tampon because that's how
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: much I want to be inside you right now. That
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: is I painted my walls green because your eyes are
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: the color of green.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, that's all I have to say.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe it's time we wrap it up now because
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: we can't top that.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Julia, tell everyone where they can find you, friends.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: I'm on the Graham and the TikTok, the Julia Washington.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I am there crying about not being able to turn
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: on my.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Heat because I can't afford it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: This week, I am your host of Pop Culture Makes
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Me Jealous, where we analyze pop culture through the lens
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: of race or gender, and sometimes both. This week we
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: released an episode about the Tutors featuring Natalie Catona and
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: our friend Alrinthia Carter, and we like we get into it,
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Homie like it's we we get some pretty deep analysis.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: We deserve a degree for the amount of work we've
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: done for that episode. Also over on Jelly Pop's book Club,
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: which has suffered because I was busy in November trying
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: to make my business successful, we're talking about The Last
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Unicorn with Jackie Hayes and that drops I think on Friday,
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: and this is.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Our last UH for the year.
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: And yes, I am still comfy with this movie, and
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: yes I will continue.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: To watch it every winter.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Sorry, Natalie, I had a panic attack. All of the
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: alarms in my body were like, this man is bad.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: We have been here before.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Yes, but tell everybody what's up in men. I have
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: tolerated pods World this week.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: So to all the men I've tolerated before. Is on

- 1:08:32Speaker 1: be seeing audio versions of Still Comfy. So for those
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: of you who are like YouTube, won't get it together
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: and make it play on my phone while I do
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: other things. I hear you, I put it on the feet.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: So this week is a Night's Tale where I try
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: to write a music live.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: I love that. That was a great episode. I think
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: we did. They're all great episode.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I would like to take a moment to plug both
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: of our Patreons because over on the two ultimate I've
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: tolerated before Patreon, we're gonna start moving a lot of
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: free content over there, and then we're starting a new
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: series for our highest tier Patreon members, which is called
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: The Misogyny Meltdown where, let me tell you, I really
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: hold it together on when I'm live on the internet
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: and live on a mic with a person. Believe it
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: or not, this is me. This is me being like,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: you're a professional, You're a.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Profession, you're a public. You can do this.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: People that are gonna high are you? So the Misogyny
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Meltdown will be where I lose my mind and it
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: will take a different form every time I release something
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: for that series, so sometimes So currently it's free for
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: everyone and it's the Misogynist of the Year Award, and
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: voting is currently open for what pop culture icon was
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: the biggest asshole this year? Right now? The uh, the
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: top contenders are justin Timberlake, the entire Spears family and
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Deak Shepherd. They are followed closely by Darius Jackson and
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Tom Sandoval and Cody Brown and Chris Pratt and Joe Jonas.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: You two are big enough losers that no one's even
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: voting for you.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Because it's just expected at this point.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Yeah, people are like, I don't even know what they
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: did this go around, like they're just in there forever.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: So that's all happening on Patreon. It's free, it's a
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: free app, it's a free follow, it's just another social
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: media platform. I don't know about everyone else, but my
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Instagram has been glitching like fuck all this month, and
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Patreon don't do me like that. And you're gonna want
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: to watch both of our Patreons coming up because this
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: week and this week only, starting on Sunday, Julia and
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: I will be in several rooms together and a full
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: proximity of one another.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Yes, we're gonna be making a lot of content. You
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: don't even know how to hang in there.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: And there will be other guest roles coming in on
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: our content because we are seeing a lot of our
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: tried and true favorite people that we met through podcasting
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: and other people's content.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah, I'm so excited we were I just like,
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: I can't believe it's already, like it's gonna be like,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: I'm so excited.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: One day, that's when I fly out, So everyone remember
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: out there for this holiday season. If one day he's
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: painting his room the color of your eyes and the
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: next day he's calling you a dirty little twit in
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: a push up bra, but then also telling you that
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: that was fine and he's super sexy. That's gaslighting and wasn't.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: Talking about her.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: You don't know who he was talking about. They didn't
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: tell us.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: I bet they tell us in the book.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: I am assuming that he was just going along with
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: whatever his boss said and maybe secretly recording him. But
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: we never know. We don't know. They don't.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Yeah, New York is New York. You don't have it's
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: not you can.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: You don't have to have consent from the other person
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: to record them.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: So maybe he was doing that. We don't know. Julie
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: is going to read the book. I can't deal with
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: another paanic attack. But most importantly, stay cozy, stay comfy,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: and we'll see you in the new year. I'm so
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: excited by friends at CASA. Need suck
