- 0:11Boys, welcome to the Studio DIOS Monday Mindset podcast collab
- 0:16coming to you live London Bridge.
- 0:18Straight out of London. Thank you so much for being
- 0:20here, boys. Charles Angus.
- 0:22Thanks for having us. For having us.
- 0:23As you know well, I suppose it could be on the other.
- 0:25Yeah, true. This is actually going out on
- 0:27both platforms. So if you're listening on that's
- 0:30that's Monday, go over and bump our numbers on Mindsets podcast
- 0:34and then go back and then yeah, vice versa.
- 0:36We're going to be rapidly clicking the retweet.
- 0:38All the. Instagram.
- 0:38So. It's the code.
- 0:40That's how you boys all good. Good.
- 0:43Yeah. What's new with you?
- 0:44No nothing. Training winter hard.
- 0:47Well, you didn't do winter. Yeah, you were.
- 0:49Don't give us back South Africa. I was there for three weeks.
- 0:52It was super nice. My Tan's starting to go.
- 0:53I had a watch tan really bad one.
- 0:56It's still there. Have you still got yours from
- 0:58summer? We had a thing.
- 1:00I don't. I don't.
- 1:00Want to talk about it? Yeah, we had a thing in summer.
- 1:02We were like, mine's no, I think I'd actually just have like I
- 1:05have my watch on too tight at all times.
- 1:07So I just actually just have butterfly restriction.
- 1:09Yeah, yeah. OK, but do you guys normally do
- 1:11a 2 minute sport? Yeah, we try.
- 1:13Who's hitting us with that? Do you want to start?
- 1:15No. OK.
- 1:17I'll start. I'll.
- 1:18Start on the spot. We can work together.
- 1:20We briefly mentioned something law in last week of our podcast,
- 1:24which was the Manchester United beat Arsenal 3/2, which was
- 1:26fantastic for the sporting world because it's the people that
- 1:29well, the people, the fans of Arsenal, we're getting a little
- 1:32bit too big for their boots. The only issue that that has
- 1:36caused is now Michael Carrick who stepped in as Manchester
- 1:38United manager, he's kind of looking pretty good at his job
- 1:41because he's taken down Manchester City and then he's
- 1:43taking down Arsenal, you know, doing quite well this season.
- 1:46As usual, it's. The classic.
- 1:48It's the classic new manager curse, though.
- 1:50Yeah. And a lot of people have been
- 1:51saying this is what happened with Ollie and you know how that
- 1:55ended up because. The players start to put
- 1:56underperform when managers do poorly because they try and
- 1:59shift the blame. And then when new managers come
- 2:01and they're trying to impress and they're trying to bolster
- 2:03their performance, so there's that.
- 2:05The only other thing as a as a Man United fan and I'm, I'm sort
- 2:08of, I'm not one, I'm a Chelsea fan and having gone through the
- 2:13whole Frank Lampard thing, wouldn't want to see Michael
- 2:15Karak actually be manager because it can only go.
- 2:17Wrong. Yeah, it's never really worked.
- 2:19Steven Gerrard, Chevy Alonso just left Real Madrid.
- 2:22John Terry Not John Terry Lampard Yard.
- 2:24You mentioned it. Yeah, tough.
- 2:25Yeah, working in like the First Division Wayne Rooney.
- 2:28Anyway, this isn't 2 minutes. We've got I'll.
- 2:29Continue to not concentrate to this part of the.
- 2:31Broadcast, Yeah. Thanks for coming.
- 2:34You're welcome, guys. The climber.
- 2:36Let's talk about that. So let's talk about the things
- 2:39that have been happening. Was it Alex?
- 2:40Alex Farnold, Yeah. What building was it?
- 2:42It was the. I can't remember what it's
- 2:43called, but it's in Taipei, the tallest skyscraper in Taipei.
- 2:47It's like this amazing building with like multiple layers and
- 2:49like overhangs and like crazy concrete Dragons on it.
- 2:53I don't know if you watched it live.
- 2:54I did, yeah. It was crazy.
- 2:55Didn't he do what I saw on like Instagram?
- 2:57Was he like hooked his leg at one point and then just like
- 2:59chilled out for a bit just to like have?
- 3:01So there was, so there was like there were different stages of
- 3:04the climb where the building was more difficult and less
- 3:07difficult. He'd got to the point where like
- 3:09all of the difficult stuff had happened.
- 3:11So there was almost like a a little ledge below him.
- 3:14It didn't make the the climbing less technical, but I think at
- 3:17that point in his head, he's like, I'm done now I can do a
- 3:19little bit of showboating and he did like there's some leg bar or
- 3:21something and let go. You weren't done mental from
- 3:23falling crazy. What I found was crazy was
- 3:26obviously when you climb on rock, there's no one in your
- 3:29face. There are loads of people, like
- 3:31spectating, like right by the glass, like waving.
- 3:34Imagine you're waving, you distract him and you're the
- 3:36reason he falls. Have you, Oh, this is this might
- 3:38be two niche. There used to be a thing on
- 3:40Reddit called 5050 where you it would say like one good thing
- 3:43and one bad thing. And then you'd click on the link
- 3:45and it would be one of the two and you never knew what it was
- 3:46going to be. One of them I saw was someone
- 3:49that was like climbing a crane and it was like successful, like
- 3:53crane climber, unsuccessful crane.
- 3:55It was unsuccessful and like since then, like anytime he's up
- 3:59on my feed scrolling with straight past, well I've seen
- 4:01that stuff go wrong. There are a lot of those things
- 4:02of those guys Hang. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 4:04Those horror stories about those guys that like aren't Skitter
- 4:07Heights and they're jumping past buildings.
- 4:08There must be something Alex Homer brain cause we've
- 4:10mentioned him before in the podcast.
- 4:11So there must be a disconnect his brain where it's just like
- 4:14he doesn't process. Well, the same way have you?
- 4:16Have you heard the thing that he says?
- 4:18But he said recently, like a lot more people need to be scared.
- 4:20Like you don't get stressed out in life.
- 4:22Like why are you stressing for a, for a potentially missing a
- 4:25flight? Like if you, if you get stressed
- 4:26for that sort of thing or missing a train, you aren't
- 4:28getting scared enough in your day life, which I actually kind
- 4:30of like. That is kind of cool.
- 4:32But the craziest thing about anybody?
- 4:33'S going to climb some more buildings then yeah.
- 4:35Maybe because missing trains really scares me out.
- 4:38I'm scared of heights so like that would be.
- 4:40Or even just watching it palm sweaty.
- 4:41Yeah, for sure. But the craziest thing for me
- 4:43about that is that the fact that he could have died and we could
- 4:47have all witnessed it live. And what are people doing these
- 4:51days to get, like the viewership?
- 4:52So like, Netflix are pushing these crazy events.
- 4:55Jake Paul versus Auntie Joshua breaking his face.
- 4:59He's got like, metal plates. And there's, you know, to get
- 5:01views. Are we going like too far?
- 5:04I think the one thing that I'll combat with is like for Alex
- 5:08Connell, who's probably the one of the best climbers in the
- 5:10world, if not the best climber, I think climbing a building's
- 5:13actually quite easy for him. Like there's no, he can practice
- 5:17all of the holds. Like there's nothing
- 5:19unpredictable about the holds. It's a structure.
- 5:22And he was like, well, I'm just going to do this.
- 5:23I saw a post about him today where he's on like the rig
- 5:26rather than the pull up bar and he's doing like wide grip pull
- 5:29ups like that to mimic what he's going to be like when he's
- 5:31climbing this building. So it's like it's not
- 5:33unpredictable. Like no rock's going to break
- 5:35off. No mouse is going to run over
- 5:36his hand or anything like that. So I think for him, the
- 5:38technical bit isn't there. So it's like an easy climb, so
- 5:42he can just go and do it. But Even so, surely there's some
- 5:45sort of safety precaution? That's what I don't get.
- 5:48There's like. They can't.
- 5:49Let's try on live TV. They just can't.
- 5:51Do you know what I mean? People announce that like
- 5:53they're going to climb a building and they just get
- 5:54arrested straight away and he's like, I'm going to do it and
- 5:56everyone's going to film it and they're like, cool.
- 5:59And it's fine. There's there must have been
- 6:01some way of like they break a window, Chuck a net out or
- 6:05something like. It sounds ridiculous.
- 6:08It could be something crazy like that.
- 6:09You would have thought so. Like maybe there's something at
- 6:11the bottom where there's like a quick release.
- 6:13Yeah, that. Fire guys come out of nowhere.
- 6:15Yeah, but even like he's hundreds of feet in the air,
- 6:18like, is that actually going to do anything?
- 6:20Will they be? You just want, you just want
- 6:23something that's like a spotter. Someone sees him go in and like
- 6:27some sort of electromagnetic thing just kills all technology
- 6:30in the area. No one can film it.
- 6:31Yeah, it happens, but no one sees it.
- 6:33That could also be something that.
- 6:35It's true. There must have been some sort
- 6:36of precaution. It's like, it's fascinating
- 6:38really, but like. So 2 Minute News has become a
- 6:41conspiracy podcast. This is good because we're
- 6:43moving on to the next big sport headline, especially for the UK.
- 6:46Paddy Pimlet getting absolutely murdered by Justin Gaichi.
- 6:49Yeah, I thought he put up a good fight.
- 6:51He was unbelievably resilient. He can take a hit.
- 6:54Have you seen his black eyes now?
- 6:56Yeah, incredible. With his sunglass.
- 6:57I don't even saw his wife's Instagram.
- 6:59He's got black blue eyes. He's just like the most likeable
- 7:03guy though. Like you can't not like him.
- 7:05There's like a few other UFC characters where you're like, I
- 7:08don't know if I can get behind this person and support them,
- 7:09but like, I like Paddy and like, I like what he does for the
- 7:12sport and he's just like super chilled about it.
- 7:14Yeah, he's a very chilled out guy.
- 7:16What I can't understand is Justin Gaichi because normally
- 7:19when a fighter gets knocked out as much as he has been your chin
- 7:22gets weaker because Paddy also hits him a few times where I was
- 7:26like how is Justin handling this post being knocked out by Max
- 7:30Holloway and other fighters? I've gone down the rabbit hole
- 7:32since that like on YouTube of just watching like UFC
- 7:35highlights. It's like, so like sadistic,
- 7:39isn't it? Where you like, I can't not
- 7:40watch this, but I don't want to watch it.
- 7:42It's like this, like I'm watching someone getting beaten
- 7:45into like a pulp. And you can't the highlight
- 7:47gauge. Yeah, you just can't take your
- 7:48eyes off it. And Paul Paddy was like the the
- 7:51front end of that on the weekend, wasn't he?
- 7:52Yeah, I'm looking forward to his future though, because he's a
- 7:55long future. He will.
- 7:56He will get the belt. It depends.
- 7:58He keeps taking shots. Like that?
- 8:00Yeah, yeah. You're so right because I'm
- 8:02worried about Justin's future. He has been taking knocks for
- 8:05years now. But you just are concerned about
- 8:07all of their futures, like if that's your, if that's your
- 8:09sport. It's one of those though, where
- 8:11like in every sport, you have to accept a level of risk for your
- 8:15future to make a potential like future safety so.
- 8:19Well interesting is that no one's actually died in MMA.
- 8:22Like they're having boxing really from mental and head
- 8:25trauma. Really.
- 8:26Yeah. No one.
- 8:27No one. Wow.
- 8:28I. Don't believe that UFC.
- 8:29Yeah, yeah, sorry. Interesting street fight, but.
- 8:33But then it then maybe it's like the numbers are are warped
- 8:36because if relative to how many people actually do it true.
- 8:38How many people are actually in the UFC compared to how many
- 8:41people box? And lifetime of sports.
- 8:43So UFC has only been around for X amount of time.
- 8:46Boxing has been. Around or like head injuries in
- 8:48rugby or the the NFL, for example.
- 8:51But I'm sure there'll be more statistics coming out on that at
- 8:53some point in the future. God, yeah, it's crazy, isn't it?
- 8:56Yeah, it's crazy. I was concerned when I was
- 8:58playing like from my head. I had a new helmet.
- 9:00It cost me £400 and I took a few hit.
- 9:03What were you playing? Yeah, I was playing.
- 9:05I was playing playing UFC with my helmet.
- 9:10When were you playing American football?
- 9:11That was my sport. Oh wow, When I was at uni OK
- 9:14played in Europe. You were a QB.
- 9:15I wasn't told me this. That is the worst way of saying
- 9:17QB. You're a QB.
- 9:20It's like a cute thing. You're a cutie.
- 9:21That's what you just said. I was, I was AI was a QB.
- 9:26Yeah, I was. And that's the thing.
- 9:29My my head wouldn't really get involved in that much impact.
- 9:32But like I took a few shots where like, I mean, I did my own
- 9:35concussion protocol, which isn't what you're supposed to do
- 9:37because like I'm also approving that I'm not concussed.
- 9:40But like there are times where you get a thing called a
- 9:42Stinger, which is like your vision would go a little bit for
- 9:45like 2 minutes, just a little bit weird, a bit like the start
- 9:48of a migraine and then it comes back and you're just like a
- 9:50little bit shaken up. I had a couple of those and I
- 9:53was like if you get like 1 slightly more severe or two in a
- 9:57game, like you probably going to get a concussion.
- 10:00And then it's depending on the person how severe the
- 10:02concussions are. But like you can get very early
- 10:05onset impact of like CTE just from having, because CTE is
- 10:09developed by those like blood clots in your brain.
- 10:11So once you start getting them, you've then got like solid mass
- 10:13in your brain, which means that when, if you do get hit, you
- 10:16know when they say like your jaw gets weaker, when you do get hit
- 10:18again, you've got a solid mass rather than a soft mass, which
- 10:21means that you're no longer able to absorb the impact in the same
- 10:24way, which then means that you get concussed more easily.
- 10:26And that's. And that's inevitably what leads
- 10:28to people having to stop play contact sports like rugby and.
- 10:31Yeah, and if they don't, just going absolutely mental, Yeah,
- 10:34literally down the line. Yeah, yeah, it's not good.
- 10:36I'm surprised that I haven't seen more mental stuff happening
- 10:39with rugby because rugby there's now.
- 10:40It's happening now though. Really like it is really.
- 10:42It is happening. The interesting thing and
- 10:44American football always and especially when I was playing,
- 10:46it got a lot of Flack because you wear pads.
- 10:48But in in reality, and I've always said this like you try
- 10:51and wear as little as possible for mobility reasons.
- 10:54The only issue is that when you put it on one thing is you feel
- 10:58invincible because you have some level of padding on, which means
- 11:00that you don't slow down into collision like you would have
- 11:02rugby. Two only recently is like tackle
- 11:06technique in taught to be the same in rugby as rugby in
- 11:10American football, which means that otherwise like I mean and
- 11:12in America, like it's still legal to be here, you can.
- 11:15Just go helmet on helmet. And and so defensive players are
- 11:19taught to use their helmet as a weapon.
- 11:20So like me as a quarterback, the most important thing I have in
- 11:23in the game is my hand. So they're told to put their
- 11:25metal face cage on my hand when they tackle me to try and break
- 11:28my fingers. And so then it's now been made
- 11:32illegal for someone to use the crown of their helmet to hit
- 11:34someone. That's called targeting.
- 11:36You get thrown out of the game, rejected.
- 11:37But that was only like 3-4 years ago that became illegal.
- 11:41There was another thing called cutting, which is the best thing
- 11:43in the world, but you can dive through someone's knee if you're
- 11:46blocking them. So they're running at you,
- 11:48they're expecting you to block or like try and get around them.
- 11:50You just dive at their knees and they go flying over top of you.
- 11:53That has become illegal outside of a certain area now.
- 11:55But again, people used to like their knees used to go the wrong
- 11:58way. You should just be allowed.
- 12:00So like there were certain things that happened in America,
- 12:03American football, because you had padding that just wouldn't
- 12:05happen if you didn't have any on at all.
- 12:07And that's like with rugby, you're a bit more sensible.
- 12:10But you both, you both played rugby growing up, didn't you?
- 12:12Yeah. It's just like looking back on
- 12:13it now. I played hockey, but yeah.
- 12:16You were like keeping that quiet for a second, right?
- 12:19Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I've had.
- 12:21Rugby up until grade. A But I was just like shocked
- 12:23now looking back at how little there was in terms of HIA and
- 12:27like head protocol and if you got hit on the head, it's just
- 12:30like go and stand on the sideline until the game's.
- 12:32Done. And let's also not forget, and
- 12:33no shade to the dads that taught me how to play rugby because I
- 12:35was, I was alright rugby as a result of them.
- 12:37But like you are just relying on someone's dad to tell you how to
- 12:39be safe at the local level. It's someone's dad that is in
- 12:42your team that is coaching it. Our local dad was quite good
- 12:46though. Our.
- 12:47Local dad was great. Where was local local dads just
- 12:51outside London. Yeah, OK.
- 12:52Yeah, OK. So that was the two minutes for.
- 12:54Yeah, yeah, yeah. So.
- 12:55That 20 minutes Roscoe played hockey, I feel like hockey was
- 13:01the one sport that got away from me.
- 13:02I think I'd have been good at hockey.
- 13:03It's a good sport. I've never had.
- 13:05A chance it's always classical for it, always like clashed
- 13:07with. An Well, we didn't have soccer.
- 13:08Remember. So we played.
- 13:09We played soccer. We played football instead.
- 13:10What do you mean you'd have soccer?
- 13:11We've had the World Cup. Yeah, it's it's.
- 13:14Club. It's a club sport, so and club
- 13:18sport here is not the same as club sport in South Africa.
- 13:20Like you don't play sport outside of school and they're
- 13:23playing club. But.
- 13:24Yeah, yeah. I wanted to dive into your Iron
- 13:27Man training coming up for the half.
- 13:28Yeah, I'm still terrified because like the last time, was
- 13:31that the last time we saw each other?
- 13:32Yeah, I think so. Well not not I have tried to see
- 13:35you but. I thought you'd bring.
- 13:38This up I'm. Now stuck in the middle.
- 13:41I have tried I'm hard. To I'm hard to pin down yeah
- 13:45swimming is is less non existent than it was Yeah, I see you I'm
- 13:50doing some swimming. I just, I don't want to go down
- 13:54it, but it's just like I, I have one pace.
- 13:57I've got an interval session, I'll swim at 1 pace.
- 13:59I've got a slow session, I'll swim at 1 pace.
- 14:00I'm just like, I don't know how to go faster.
- 14:02I don't know how to go slower. So I've done my like, I've done
- 14:06some longer swims, longer swims. I can now do the full distance
- 14:09without stopping, which is big. That's positive.
- 14:12I now need to transition into open water.
- 14:14Are you, what are you doing for cycling now?
- 14:16Nothing. But you strong, you'll be fine.
- 14:18I think the cycling's fine. I'm I'm like just concerned
- 14:21about the swim and then once I get out the swim, the thing
- 14:24isn't for like a time thing for me.
- 14:26It's just like a can I do it? So once I'm through the swim
- 14:28it'll be just a a nice bike ride and a good run off.
- 14:31Yeah, a new naturally, but I do want to say because I heard in
- 14:33your guys last podcast about Strava, I appreciate your Strava
- 14:37because it does give me a laugh like every now and again and all
- 14:40your things. It's quite funny.
- 14:41There you go. That's a serious plug for a.
- 14:43Game we can be more opposite on Strava like I'll do.
- 14:48Yeah. I don't think I follow you on.
- 14:49I'll do. I'll do like.
- 14:50You're not missing out. I'll do like a High rock session
- 14:53or like a threshold session on like a skier, and I'll put like
- 14:55afternoon walk. Yeah.
- 14:57I don't want people to know what was really going on.
- 14:59This is actually grind my gear. Oh, we're doing Grind My Gears.
- 15:02Should we? Yeah, let's.
- 15:03OK, so should we introduce for the Diet Stars Monday listeners?
- 15:07Grind My Gears is one of the the favorite parts of our of our
- 15:10episodes weekly where listeners send in things that have pissed
- 15:15them off through the week basically.
- 15:16And we definitely get involved. So yeah, anything doesn't have
- 15:20to be like sport or fitness related if it is even better.
- 15:23But you can also be anonymous, which some people love to take
- 15:26advantage of. Roscoe definitely has a few
- 15:28times, otherwise we'd have cancelled him and this whole
- 15:30podcast. You've shared a few.
- 15:31Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean can I start?
- 15:36Secret Squirrel training on Strava where you can, like you
- 15:40can upload on Strava, but you don't make it public to
- 15:42everyone. So how do I know how much you're
- 15:45training? So how do I know how much I need
- 15:48to train? Yeah.
- 15:50So it's like, I know this person's been doing more Secret
- 15:54Zone 2 work and I know we're meant to be doing the same
- 15:56amount of training and I'm just, he's hiding everything on
- 15:59Strava. So now I hide everything.
- 16:01So it's like. To everyone SO.
- 16:03Not, not, not all of them. Some of them.
- 16:06So I'm my own grind my gear, but I've been forced to do it.
- 16:08So it's like, don't show your hand on Strava.
- 16:10I've just had that with mates that we're competing against
- 16:12each other and they've hidden their Strava on me.
- 16:15Did you, did you bring up, have you brought up the 5K time trial
- 16:20thing? No, but I should, shouldn't I?
- 16:21Yeah, because this is another grime I get.
- 16:23This is another grime I get. This is one of the best stories
- 16:25I've heard in a while. Because you did your sub 20.
- 16:28Now, yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to leave names out of
- 16:30this. You're going to leave names out
- 16:31of it. So for my brand Rock Sport, we
- 16:35did a little bit of filming and we thought it'd be quite fun to
- 16:37make like a vlog style video of me testing my 5K.
- 16:40It was never going to be really impressive, but I was just doing
- 16:42some benchmarking for the upcoming Hackney half block I'm
- 16:45doing. So we went to Battersea and I
- 16:47had I'm my business partner on a on a line bike with a camera and
- 16:51then I had another mate on a Boris bike who's just going to
- 16:54pace me basically. So we're going round Battersea
- 16:57Park, running around, running around, running around, doing my
- 16:595K test, getting some shots, filming me and coming towards
- 17:04the end, probably like the last 300 meters, there's some other
- 17:07guy doing his interval session and he's like just chilling
- 17:10because he's in a rest period and I'm like bomb past him at
- 17:13358 pace. And he obviously is like, no,
- 17:17I'm not into that. So he starts speeding up.
- 17:20So we're almost like going toe to toe to toe toe.
- 17:22I'm there with like these two bikes, cameras, music going and
- 17:26everything. And on Strava you get grouped
- 17:29together with people you run close to just like Nat shit
- 17:31groups people. So he shoots off whatever, see
- 17:35you later. I finish.
- 17:36I didn't even think anything of it.
- 17:37Go back, start checking my Strava you've been put in a
- 17:40group with. I'm like, I don't don't know
- 17:42this guy. Click on his profile, go to his
- 17:45last activity. He's like last run in Batty P.
- 17:49Hold on, Batty. P That's another one.
- 17:51That's another one. That's number one.
- 17:53Hang on, hang on. Last run in Batty P as a Batty
- 17:56park resident and then goes it was like 4 by something at
- 18:00threshold X amount of rest and it was like went a bit hot in
- 18:04interval 3 because some influencer ran past me with a
- 18:08line bike and needed the smoke. Then he said what was it He was
- 18:15he phrased it like sure to say he won't be posting that clip.
- 18:19Hashtag get done, bozo. Get hashtag get done, bozo.
- 18:23That needs to be. I could, yeah, that.
- 18:26Is unreal. I was.
- 18:27Like yeah, fitness influence. What I'm more gutted about is
- 18:31we'll never see him round Batty P because I that was his last
- 18:34round round Batty P. Why?
- 18:36Because. Well, he said he was.
- 18:37He was his last one is a resident of of Batty.
- 18:40Bozo. Maybe he just moved to a
- 18:41different area. Maybe.
- 18:41Yeah, yeah. I'd love to see that profile to
- 18:43see who that is. We'll keep it anonymous.
- 18:45It's going to stay anonymous all.
- 18:46Right. No, no, No.
- 18:47Yeah. You can share it to me after.
- 18:48Yeah. That's crazy.
- 18:50It was a good story. Yeah.
- 18:51Battersea Bozo. Yeah, that's me.
- 18:53You're the Battersea bozo. What did you call me?
- 18:55I was like the Bassi Park. Final boss, like, yeah, Bassi
- 18:58Park final boss, that's who he is.
- 18:59Final boss, yeah. But I also find it interesting
- 19:02because I never see the people out with their cameras, but I
- 19:04see so much footage. Yeah, it's quite interesting.
- 19:06So you have to that's. Because you have a job.
- 19:08Yeah, that yeah. If you're there in the day, all
- 19:10it is is cameras. 11 AM Sweet spot.
- 19:12Yeah, lots of cameras, OK. That makes so much.
- 19:15Sense yeah, we've had two sent in.
- 19:19So I'm going to start off with Victoria.
- 19:21Neither of them want to be anonymous.
- 19:22Victoria's one is not necessarily related to Fitness
- 19:26Tool, it's related to Instagram. Everyone I believe yesterday got
- 19:32the notification that their rights were being taken away
- 19:35from them by Instagram on every single account and you had to
- 19:39approve. Or very simple, just pay £3.99 a
- 19:42month. Yeah.
- 19:46And like, it wasn't like it wasn't it Basically like you, I
- 19:50was trying to reply to a message and I was like, this is
- 19:52relatively urgent. I don't have time to read the
- 19:54terms and conditions. I'm just going to assume I'm I'm
- 19:56fucked basically. And I ain't paying.
- 19:59And so I then I then. Spoke through my mind.
- 20:01I then spoke to someone who went, well, I'm not accepting
- 20:04that and I'm not paying. And so they went through that
- 20:06process and basically Instagram says you're absolutely fine to
- 20:10continue using the app, but you anything you share won't get
- 20:16shared to anyone else really. So like you basically.
- 20:20Just I didn't have an option, I didn't have a continue with
- 20:23that. Apparently that it's there.
- 20:26I think they went down the terms and conditions rate.
- 20:28Don't quote me on that. That's not what I've done.
- 20:30I just I just. Clicked no.
- 20:31That whole thing is super scary because they're basically saying
- 20:33we're going to take all your information even more than we
- 20:35already are. You giving us license to do so?
- 20:38But the the thing that Victoria said on the message was she, and
- 20:42again, we're going down the conspiracy route here.
- 20:44She believes that dependent on your profile type, soon enough
- 20:48you'll be charged different amounts.
- 20:50So if you're a creator, you'll be charged a certain amount.
- 20:52If you're a business, you'll be charged a certain amount just to
- 20:54have a profile. Yeah.
- 20:57I was charged 399 as well. Yeah, you were charged.
- 21:00No, I was. I was.
- 21:00Going to say, yeah, mine charged, yeah.
- 21:03So I think what she's saying is she reckons that's going to
- 21:05start to become like a tiered system.
- 21:08If you're just a social user, it's stick at 399 but.
- 21:11So we would obviously be like 54 lbs or something.
- 21:13Yeah, something crazy all the. Followers, he's going to be up
- 21:19there. Or how many times have we post?
- 21:21Yeah. Yeah, but that's wild.
- 21:23So that's that's number one if you get in.
- 21:26Yeah, me. This is like a real gram.
- 21:29I get like really ticks me off like mad when people get into
- 21:33the cold plunge at the gym from the sauna without rinsing.
- 21:39So they've sat in the sauna next to me for 20 minutes, drenched
- 21:44in sweat, and then they pop out and jump in the ice park.
- 21:49I see it far too frequently. That is like insane.
- 21:52Do you, do you ever say anything to them?
- 21:54So the second ground idea is to myself for not having the balls
- 21:58to ever say anything. I thought, I thought you're
- 21:59going to say it to myself because I also do it.
- 22:02I know how wrong it is. No, I never say anything.
- 22:06I'm just left in the sauna fuming.
- 22:08I'm going to, can I go off yours in a similar tone?
- 22:12People that pee in the pool get out of here.
- 22:16The swimming pool. We don't.
- 22:17That's not a thing. Yeah.
- 22:19Were you not terrified of a child that there was going to be
- 22:21some die in the pool? Yeah.
- 22:22That was to teach you A. Lesson is a thing it's.
- 22:24Just not a thing. And the the concerning thing is,
- 22:26if you can smell chlorine, there's piss in the pool and
- 22:28that was tested by mythical. Myth Busters, how have we?
- 22:32How have we spoken about this before?
- 22:33Yeah, I, I because I have a story that I might have told you
- 22:36that I was in the swimming pool fitness.
- 22:39I swear we spoke about this when you came on the podcast.
- 22:42Yeah, maybe and I we got all asked to remove.
- 22:44Ourselves from the. Pool.
- 22:45I was a kid crying. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:47Yeah. And they were like, this always
- 22:48happens. And I was, I was like.
- 22:52I would like my money back please in this. 18 meter pool in
- 22:57the very fucking fitness first. Yeah, fair enough that you do
- 22:59need to like, rinse yourself off.
- 23:02Yeah, yeah, I mean, yeah. So please like just rinse
- 23:04yourself off for like 2 minutes. Yeah, bringing it back in.
- 23:06Yeah, please rinse yourself. Forget it.
- 23:08Like, I get it that there's chlorine and stuff in there, but
- 23:10like, you know. Common courtesy A.
- 23:13Full body of sweat. Because I'm talking about the
- 23:15guys that rock the sauna for 20 minutes and then jump in.
- 23:18Yeah, Then come back into the sauna with a smile.
- 23:21They know exactly what they've done, yeah.
- 23:23Yeah, I'll come back with one from Alec.
- 23:27Alec, this is brilliant as well. By the way.
- 23:30Why do adults not have, like, Velcro trainers?
- 23:34Because he said, it's really cold at the moment, and my
- 23:36shoelaces keep coming undone on my runs and my hands are too
- 23:39cold. Velcro trainers?
- 23:41Why is that not a thing? Where you can just strap over.
- 23:44Because you don't have to double knot.
- 23:47OK, hold on a minute here, he said.
- 23:49No, he didn't say attack. My my grind, my gear is adults
- 23:52who don't double knock their shoes when they go out running.
- 23:55I double knots, sometimes they come undone.
- 23:56Have you never had one shoe that just continues undoes itself?
- 23:59I'm good at tying knots. Someone was a Beaver.
- 24:04Scouts, all the measures, yeah. Yeah, I mean, I could see it.
- 24:10It'll be. I wouldn't buy it.
- 24:13No, that's not true. If Nike came out or like Adidas
- 24:16or something came out with like the Pro 4 and it was Velcro,
- 24:19everyone would be like, that's the most genius thing I've ever
- 24:21seen. Yeah.
- 24:22Yeah. I probably would, though.
- 24:23I probably would. Yeah.
- 24:24You. Definitely, also I could tie to
- 24:26this as the gloves are. He's got that badge as well.
- 24:31We'll teach that in South African school.
- 24:33Yeah, do. You guys wear gloves when you're
- 24:35running? Obviously no.
- 24:36I do, yeah. That was a big thing for me.
- 24:39Like getting overcoming that like I shouldn't wear gloves but
- 24:42to the point where it was like my hands are blue now and I
- 24:44don't want to run anymore. I.
- 24:45Just get sweaty straight away and then I've got to do
- 24:47something with gloves. Yeah, this weather sucks for
- 24:49running. Yeah, it's like, I always wait,
- 24:51Yeah, too many layers and then it's just too, too sweaty.
- 24:54Do you have another grand Maggie?
- 24:55Yeah, no. Fine and done, yeah.
- 24:59I have another. One yes, with another one.
- 25:02Oh yeah, fuck. That's when, yeah, that's when
- 25:06you get reminded of the stress it causes.
- 25:08You going back to Instagram all the videos now?
- 25:12This is day one of me doing XXX follow.
- 25:16That's been going on for years. But it's really ramped up
- 25:19recently and I've I've seen some people post that famous guy
- 25:22saying I'm going to get till I'm get the knock the fuck out.
- 25:26And I've seen like a few other people doing it now and I'm just
- 25:29like. Have you seen the one where it's
- 25:31like, this is day one of me trying to dig through my garage
- 25:33wall with a spoon? Everyone's algorithm is
- 25:38different, isn't it? Everyone's algorithm is
- 25:40different. But also what's crazy is they
- 25:41get 800,000 followers in three days.
- 25:43My guy, yeah, I gave him a following.
- 25:45I want to see if he gets through the wall.
- 25:47As as as a somewhat hater for that sort of thing.
- 25:51And I mean we all are because we're discussing it as a
- 25:53grammar, yeah, but because trial reels exist and like we've
- 25:57discussed that you and I have discussed it as well.
- 25:59But then there are people using trial reels for the most random
- 26:03thing. So like I'm trying to get to 10K
- 26:05by the end of January. I'm currently on 8200.
- 26:09Comment what number I'm on when you see this and you I go on
- 26:13their profile, they're on like 2000.
- 26:14Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've seen that a lot.
- 26:16Then you go to the comments and everyone's like, you're on 1800.
- 26:20Keep trying. It's like, no, stop it.
- 26:23Stop engaging. With yeah, I'm.
- 26:24Starting to think that should we should I make a trial reel like?
- 26:27That you should definitely. This is day one of.
- 26:29This is day one of me trying to get in I.
- 26:31Didn't think about putting them in trial reel because then it's
- 26:33just like getting you views. You'd you'd think so.
- 26:39They don't always work like that.
- 26:40Yeah, because I don't like them. So I suppose why don't you told
- 26:42me in the beginning post what you like to most and then it's
- 26:45always going to be fine. Yeah, you're never going to go
- 26:48back to your account and be like, oh, I mean some.
- 26:51I'm my own ick. Yeah, sometimes they're early
- 26:53ones. Yeah.
- 26:54Shame. Do you not have Instagram?
- 26:57Because I've tried to find you. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:58No, I just blocked you after I ignored your.
- 27:03Swing, Yeah, we need to talk about this.
- 27:04Actually, we need to talk about this.
- 27:06Yeah, it's really. Charles has disappeared off
- 27:08Instagram. I have, yeah.
- 27:09Why? How deep do you want to go?
- 27:13You want you want the truth? Yeah.
- 27:15Well, I'll tell you I would if I could.
- 27:18I hated. Yeah, I think I got to like the
- 27:21point where I was just so there's, there's like certain
- 27:24type of content that was like really making me angry, like
- 27:28annoyed and like I didn't want to feel that way based off
- 27:31someone else's opinions, you know what I mean?
- 27:34And it's just like it got to the point where I was like, I just
- 27:36don't want to do this anymore. But like you say, because you
- 27:38use it for work, right? So it's like it's detrimental to
- 27:41me as well because the amount of times I'm like posting on my
- 27:44story to promote classes or programs or coaching or
- 27:47whatever. And I like.
- 27:48All the podcasts. Exactly, I don't have that out
- 27:51out anymore. I won't be re sharing anything.
- 27:55So it's like it's this catch 22. But I do find myself like, it's
- 27:59probably been over a month now. It was like the first couple of
- 28:02weeks where I'm like, I really actually need to get it back for
- 28:05work and now I just like try and work around it.
- 28:07Yeah, it's a tough one because I obviously love Instagram for
- 28:10what you get out of it, for the podcast, the connections, like
- 28:13people. There is so much good on it.
- 28:15But I really hate that it's drawing me to two hours to three
- 28:19hours a day or whatever it. Is those are rookie numbers?
- 28:21Yeah, Yeah, those are really rookie numbers.
- 28:23And you know, I'd like, I feel it like mentally and like it
- 28:26drains me and then also the envy and trying to keep up with other
- 28:30people on it. And in my search bar, there's
- 28:32nothing lower than 500,000. So like I'm constantly comparing
- 28:36against the 1% of the world. It's so toxic.
- 28:39It's so and I'm just if I could remove myself from it and have
- 28:42someone else run my Instagram for me, that's the.
- 28:45The thing that I'm, I'm missing about it is like, I love taking
- 28:49photos and I love sharing the photos with other people and
- 28:51like my actual friends who have like genuine, authentic
- 28:54connection with. I'm not doing it for anyone
- 28:57other than like, and I, I like to look back on my feet and go,
- 28:59oh, I did this and I did this event and XY and Z and I took
- 29:03these really nice photos and that's a nice way to remember
- 29:05it. But instead you go on and it's
- 29:06like some random fitness influence with no qualifications
- 29:10telling me how I should be coaching.
- 29:11I'm like, it's just like, yeah, it's a it's a tough one.
- 29:15I've just, I'm willing to expose myself here.
- 29:17I've just gone on my screen time to see how much time.
- 29:19Oh. That's a good one.
- 29:20Yeah, this is a good one. So I have most use this this
- 29:26can't be today. This I believe will be a week.
- 29:30My average is 11 hours, 24 minutes on Instagram, which on
- 29:36Instagram, on Instagram. And that's because I, I, it's
- 29:40crazy. I, I mean, all of my work is
- 29:42mostly done through Instagram. So I'm posting stuff on the
- 29:45podcast page through my range of motion media account or my
- 29:48personal thing. And then the other thing that I
- 29:50have is a setting which does not help me out and kind of ruins
- 29:53all of the stats about my screen time.
- 29:54My phone doesn't lock unless it's 20% and I will leave my
- 29:58phone and do stuff on my computer.
- 29:59So it's a little bit skewed. So it's a little bit skewed, but
- 30:02like it probably. Isn't.
- 30:03I've seen some like my screen time numbers have been like
- 30:06double digits like for many, many weeks.
- 30:09Yeah. But now it's like down to 7
- 30:11hours a day which is still like high.
- 30:13But I'm on 7 1/2 hours but I work at 9:00 to 5:00.
- 30:17Yeah, but but I does it. Does it?
- 30:19Yeah. Not anymore when they hear that.
- 30:22Jesus, lucky to have you. They're just swiping Instagram.
- 30:27On YouTube. But do they they count?
- 30:29They must count like Spotify. When you're listening to Spotify
- 30:31is that? No, I don't think that's screen
- 30:32time, no. If it's spot, it's so it.
- 30:35Goes by argument. It's so funny because thank God,
- 30:37Instagram don't put time posted on on Instagram posts.
- 30:41It's just the day yeah, saved, saved, saved by the ball and
- 30:45then I'll just if they. Do ever pass 859 I?
- 30:48Scheduled it. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:49Come on. Oh yeah, I used that one.
- 30:52Yeah. I got pulled to one side.
- 30:54Really. We we can see that you're
- 30:55posting when you're. And I was like, guys, have you
- 30:58ever heard about scheduling? And they were like, you can't do
- 31:01that on LinkedIn. And I was like.
- 31:03Oh, you can. Well, you can, and at the time
- 31:05you could. I just didn't know how to do it.
- 31:06So I had to find it on my computer and show them as I was
- 31:09figuring out. And I was like, there you go.
- 31:12That's how. Yeah, no, not good.
- 31:15Right. Should we move on to the next
- 31:16segment? Yeah, let's do it.
- 31:18The fun segment. That was that was all fun, yeah.
- 31:21Yeah. The interactive segment was kind
- 31:23of. Fun.
- 31:24Interactive. Sector, Yeah.
- 31:25OK. So who do you want to start?
- 31:26Should I start? You start?
- 31:27I'm quite excited to do this. So again, I guess this is kind
- 31:30of. I don't know one of your things.
- 31:32Yeah, yeah. We.
- 31:33We. Like dump it is something you've
- 31:34stolen from. Us so we do a game every
- 31:38episode. For those of you that if you're
- 31:39in the UK and you remember things like question Sport or
- 31:41League of Their own, those are two famous TV shows that
- 31:44probably were like on the Internet as well.
- 31:46You probably it's not like a third world country over in
- 31:48South Africa, but like you'll have seen parts of the games
- 31:52there and we like to do it where you guys can play along while
- 31:55you listen and usually Charles just makes fool of himself
- 31:58perfect. Sometimes I play so I.
- 32:00Just want to say Datas Monday is super cool and interesting and
- 32:02fun, but we're doing all the things they do because it's fun,
- 32:09right? I'm going to start.
- 32:10That makes sense, So. We are we.
- 32:11Can I can I confirm for this game?
- 32:13Right. I'm sure.
- 32:14Yeah, this is what I want to ask.
- 32:15So I have two. You can either do it
- 32:16individually or you can work on them together.
- 32:18Oh. I think we go head to head.
- 32:21Oh, surely we never get the chance to go head to head.
- 32:23You can't because there's two different queer 5 answers.
- 32:26So if you can't compete. Oh.
- 32:29Oh yeah? Well, what is the game?
- 32:30So it's it's I'm going to give you 5 things.
- 32:32You have to guess order one to five without knowing who's
- 32:35coming next. Oh, perfect.
- 32:36Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:37Let's, let's, can we not? Can we not?
- 32:39Give you the 2 topics. We can do separate.
- 32:41Order. Can we order?
- 32:42Them so I could order my different.
- 32:43Team, do you know? What I mean, yeah, you could.
- 32:44Yeah, let's do that. Yeah, OK.
- 32:46So 2 separate. Answers SO11 is the best, 5 is
- 32:49the worst, right? So 1 is going to be the most
- 32:52difficult and the 5th is going to be the least difficult of
- 32:55these five individual sports. I love it.
- 32:57First one. I love it.
- 32:59Just to clarify, if you haven't been able to tell already, by
- 33:01the way, that we've got into this game.
- 33:02We are hella competitive. Yeah.
- 33:05So rank these from most difficult to least difficult
- 33:08individual sports. Yeah, right.
- 33:10Ski jumping. Most difficult to like.
- 33:16Just do like be good at. I feel like that's the same
- 33:20thing, OK. Ski jumping is like you go off
- 33:2310. It's like the.
- 33:25Massive long thing you. Fly.
- 33:27OK, it's not like the trick sport.
- 33:28No, no. It's a very topical nice,
- 33:30because the Winter Olympics starts the Winter Olympics.
- 33:32Yeah, very good. I'm going to put that I'm
- 33:35scared. Wait, 5 was least least least.
- 33:38I'm going to put that 3. I think I'm going to put that
- 33:42two well. That's quite odd.
- 33:44Nice. Yeah, but I I'm going to save
- 33:46myself. I will argue to the end of.
- 33:48The world, right? The next one is rock climbing.
- 33:52With ropes. No.
- 33:56Let's make it harder. Is this is this a real rock or
- 33:58like going down to your local rock climbing wall at the.
- 34:01Legendary no Like free like free like free solo?
- 34:04Yeah, Alex, Alex free solo off one, Yeah.
- 34:08Nah, he was chilling. Three you.
- 34:10You go. You go Rock climbing in
- 34:11Yosemite? No.
- 34:12You shot yourself, you will die. You shot yourself in the face,
- 34:14you said For that kind of that kind of thing.
- 34:17I can just go home and practice on on a rack or something.
- 34:19I'll be fine. 11. Three, the risk of death.
- 34:23No other sport here is going to be a risk of death.
- 34:26Loads of people have died in that.
- 34:27That's a fair comment because the third sport is triathlon,
- 34:30pro triathlon, pro triathlon, Iron Man, full distance. 5.
- 34:35It's harder, but. I I feel like I don't.
- 34:40I don't know if I can say this before having completed it.
- 34:43That's the thing I, I think, I think you can go.
- 34:44And do it. Yeah, that's what I you can walk
- 34:46the marathon, right? I'm more likely.
- 34:48To finish professional. Because because the changes.
- 34:50Doesn't, Yeah. I said professional.
- 34:53In my head I'm like, I could finish and see how you think.
- 34:55I don't know if I can land a ski jump.
- 34:57Yeah, yeah, that's that's that's what I'm.
- 34:59Thinking as well, very. I don't know if I can climb a
- 35:03building right now. I can.
- 35:05I can probably survive an Iron Man without a time limit, yeah.
- 35:08Yeah. I'm going to have to put that 4.
- 35:11So 5 and 4. Yeah, OK.
- 35:14I'll stick with. You because I think the next one
- 35:16is boxing. Oh.
- 35:18I'm going to, I'm going to have to put that 45.
- 35:22You also, that's quite easy. I think it's a lot more
- 35:24technical than people. Think no, it is.
- 35:25But like, I could go and box and get hit in the face.
- 35:28Great. Yeah, you see.
- 35:29So if I go climbing a mountain, I'm going to die.
- 35:32Yeah, we're not. Thinking profession, I'm going
- 35:33to die. We're not thinking
- 35:35professionalism, we're thinking like survival.
- 35:39They're quite. It's about my brain work.
- 35:40Yeah. Wait.
- 35:41Have you got #1 left? Yeah.
- 35:43Well, I've got 2 left. Next one's 2.
- 35:47No, fuck me. So hard.
- 35:48OK, yeah, so hard no this bear with me because I think the most
- 35:53all rounded athletes in the world are all tennis players.
- 35:56I think Novak Djokovic is the pinnacle of athlete.
- 35:59If you think of like the 10 physical skills or like fitness
- 36:01skills, there's like flexibility, strength,
- 36:03endurance, power, speed. Like flexibility.
- 36:07Did I say flexibility? You've had said that already.
- 36:08Endurance, power, speed, there's all there's like he's got
- 36:11everything and like. And then also the awareness,
- 36:15having to think ahead, like the cognitive part of tennis, like
- 36:18the skill there's. A lot of mental games.
- 36:20I think it's creates the most all rounded athlete and you
- 36:23won't die. I don't think it's.
- 36:24I don't. I don't know if I would agree
- 36:26with. That give me someone.
- 36:27But I'm I'm trying to come up with something.
- 36:29It's really hard and it's an individual sport also.
- 36:32Put yourself in the like, pinnacle of the sport.
- 36:36You're serving to either like stay in Wimbledon final or
- 36:40serving to win Wimbledon final and it's just you, your heart
- 36:43rate, the breathing, but you see the pressure and people still
- 36:46execute that. That's incredible.
- 36:47But you've gone pro in your thinking.
- 36:49With triathlon, you're thinking you doing it.
- 36:51So a pro triathlete has to rock out.
- 36:53To the yeah, but I still think all round athlete, a tennis
- 36:55player is they yeah, they don't have the the endurance bias, but
- 36:59they have so many more skills. In there, one thing that I would
- 37:02also say is in like if you take a triathlete, I'm a tennis
- 37:05player, everything, well, for the most part, things are in the
- 37:08tennis player's control. Whereas with the triathlete,
- 37:11there's so much that's out of your.
- 37:12Control. What if I?
- 37:12I disagree, because you're playing against someone who's
- 37:15going to create the unforeseeable.
- 37:17Yeah, but like everything, if you're going to win a point, you
- 37:20have to. But also, like, you take Novak
- 37:22Djokovic, he can do an Ironman. You take Laidlaw or whatever,
- 37:26he's not going to be good at tennis necessarily.
- 37:29He might be athletic. But Djokovic isn't going to be
- 37:31good at triathlon either. He can do 1, the other guy can
- 37:35play tennis. I reckon this is really
- 37:37interesting. I reckon if you took a pro level
- 37:40Triathy and a pro tennis player, the pro tennis player would have
- 37:43more of a chance of becoming pro in triathlon than a pro
- 37:46triathlon, which would become pro at tennis because it's skill
- 37:48based. But you don't need skill to sit
- 37:50on a bike. You don't.
- 37:52You need skill to swim. I'll give you that.
- 37:54I think you need a bit of skill to sit on the bike at.
- 37:55That speed verse pro level tennis the.
- 37:59Thing is, I think there's the there's the precision element in
- 38:01tennis, which you don't speed. There's so much finesse like.
- 38:06The one sport I left off was golf.
- 38:08Golf, I think is probably the hardest sport in the world It.
- 38:13Is that that was one I'd. To like, to actually be good at.
- 38:16Oh yeah. Because like it's like you were
- 38:17saying, imagine Wimbledon. Imagine Wimbledon final.
- 38:20Yeah, you're knack at everything.
- 38:21But take take the like the fitness endurance away from it
- 38:24because you don't necessarily you need some sort of endurance,
- 38:26but it's like. Different necessarily.
- 38:28So like, that's why I wouldn't Class A golfer as like a top
- 38:31level athlete because it's like tennis for me is the pinnacle.
- 38:34Yeah, fucking love it. OK, well, that was good.
- 38:38We'll. We'll be able to collect those
- 38:39five on the on the screen, yeah. When quick do.
- 38:43You reckon? Do you reckon paddle players are
- 38:44going to become better athletes and tennis players?
- 38:46No. There we go.
- 38:48Who do you think won that head to head?
- 38:49Me you think free solo climbing isn't the most difficult?
- 38:55Yeah, I think he did win because you ended up with tennis as #1
- 38:59what was your number 2 again? Can't remember.
- 39:01Now, the first thing you said, ski jumping.
- 39:03Ski jumping, Yeah. He's so mad, look at him.
- 39:07The game's a game. Self-proclaimed winner as well.
- 39:09OK, we're going to do it. And mine, same one, OK, same
- 39:12game. But now we're talking most
- 39:17overhyped sportsman ever like. Most.
- 39:21Yeah, like he's not. He's underrate.
- 39:23Like he's average, but he was overnight.
- 39:26We've got a lot of under and over.
- 39:28There what we're doing here so just to.
- 39:30Confirm. We are, we are ranking people
- 39:32that we think are overrated. Yes.
- 39:34OK. Yeah, OK.
- 39:35Right. And they're all.
- 39:36Professional and #1 is most overrated and #5 is least
- 39:39overrated. Correct.
- 39:40If you know that Djokovic comes in, yeah.
- 39:42You've got a double down so hard all.
- 39:45Right for Kyle, sucker. Oh.
- 39:51That's tough. I don't know if he's like over
- 39:56hyped because he's he's good. He's.
- 39:57Good, but I. Feel like there's a load of
- 39:59hype? So I know we're like, yeah, I'm
- 40:02not going. To say yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:03I'll put I'll put 4. For now, I think I'm going to
- 40:07have to put 4 as well. I think that's safe.
- 40:08Yeah, OK. Andy Murray, talk about tennis.
- 40:13Oh no. Go on.
- 40:15Oh so like if you think he's over hyped?
- 40:18Yeah, so if he if you think he's actually good, then it's #5.
- 40:21So this this is actually a really hard one.
- 40:23This is. A hard one because like Andy
- 40:25Murray has in terms of success in his career, he's had success.
- 40:29He also had success when you had Djokovic, Federer and which is
- 40:33why the the. Most incredible era of tennis
- 40:36ever. And he was still winning majors,
- 40:39so he's not over hyped. So that means I have to put him
- 40:42at five. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 40:44He's fine. But remember, some people could
- 40:45come in. Yeah.
- 40:46That are. Super good and not yeah, but
- 40:48I've just shot myself in the foot saying that tennis.
- 40:49Is the most I'm going to go sport in the world?
- 40:51I'm going. To go. 3.
- 40:54I think he's more over hyped, I think, I think retrospectively
- 40:57he's more over hyped than how good he was at the time because
- 41:00there was a lot of times where he just choked.
- 41:03He did choke a lot of times. Really, we forget about that
- 41:06because he got, he actually had some results.
- 41:07Yeah, he had a lot of results, yeah.
- 41:09But. He was so choked a lot of times.
- 41:12Andy, sorry, I love. The debate, sorry.
- 41:14Andy, apologies. Right, Conor McGregor.
- 41:19Over hyped for sure I'm going to say. 2 I don't want him.
- 41:23To fight me though. Thing is, thing is, as an
- 41:26athlete, you have. 432 there, yeah, so as.
- 41:28An athlete, I don't think he's overhyped.
- 41:30As a human being, Oh, that's nice, because like, he's an
- 41:33incredible. Athlete who was his movement
- 41:34coach, that crazy guy. IDO Portal.
- 41:36Do you remember him? Yes, when he was in that, yeah,
- 41:38yeah, yeah. I am water.
- 41:40Whatever. Yeah, that was sick.
- 41:42Like he's so athletic. That's fair.
- 41:44Yeah, I'm going to put him at. Did you put him at 2?
- 41:46I put him in two. So that's pretty overrated.
- 41:48Yeah. I'm going to put him as two as
- 41:50well. OK, so Lewis.
- 41:53Hamilton, Oh I. Hate myself.
- 41:58That's why I kind of gave you a small warning.
- 42:00So this is. Actually.
- 42:02Really. Hard because I'm I'm.
- 42:03Obviously a Lewis fan, so you've got to go one or five, yeah.
- 42:06That's why it's really tough. And you don't know who's coming.
- 42:09Yeah, what have you. Got I've got 1 and 3.
- 42:11Left so you've got him. I just I just.
- 42:13Love the guy so I have. To put him at 3 and regret all
- 42:16of my choices and he should be at 5.
- 42:18I think it's tough because in Formula One you can't.
- 42:20Really get away from If you've got the best car, you're
- 42:22probably going to do well. That's why it's there.
- 42:24That's. Why the question for seven, but
- 42:26like undoubtedly for. Me.
- 42:27Even with the worst car, he's still the best driver
- 42:30technically. I'm going to.
- 42:32I'm going to. Say I mean it.
- 42:34Doesn't matter, he's got a rubbish.
- 42:36Car. I'm going to say 5.
- 42:39And I'm going to say 5 because if you haven't read his book,
- 42:42you should read his book. The way he got into the sport
- 42:45was just on pure excellence. And then to actually, even even
- 42:49if you have got a good car to execute is one thing.
- 42:53To do it back-to-back to back-to-back to back.
- 42:55Not let all of that get to your head and then controversial to
- 43:01do it an eighth time in a less superior car to the Red Bull and
- 43:04have it taken away from you because you are literally just
- 43:06too good to give the next generation a win.
- 43:10That's how you know you're not. It's so true about his bringing
- 43:12up because I read that. Landon Norris's father paid 10
- 43:14million. That's it.
- 43:15Yeah. And, and his preparation.
- 43:17And Lewis Hamilton lived in the caravan.
- 43:19The kids who like come to the. Team because daddy's paying or
- 43:22they come with loads of sponsorships.
- 43:23It's like that's the thing. The politics behind getting your
- 43:26seat in F1 is the thing that frustrates me the most, where
- 43:28it's like there's some drivers who are just unbelievably good
- 43:31at driving but will never get the opportunity because they
- 43:33don't have any money. Like Lance Stroll, he's
- 43:35unbelievably good at. Driving and just he's only just
- 43:38got his opportunity nothing to do with family members or
- 43:40anything like that. Nikita Mazapin another example
- 43:44quality that we lost because it just they wouldn't give him a
- 43:47look in over other rich people sick of it.
- 43:51Honestly. What's Formula One coming?
- 43:54Yeah, what has? It's always been one of the
- 43:57least. Corrupt sports, especially under
- 43:58Bernie Eccleston. And now what have we got ever
- 44:01since Drive to Survive started? Yeah, yeah, it's just gone.
- 44:04Down the toilet. What you're going to be both
- 44:06super happy the number. One spots open because it was
- 44:08Ryan Garcia. Who?
- 44:12Who? Exactly.
- 44:15The boxer. Oh, I don't even know.
- 44:19Which means that he's. Severely not over.
- 44:21Hyped. We've got him in completely the
- 44:23wrong spot. This guy needs to be #5 do.
- 44:26You know what? He's probably a listener.
- 44:27I'm so sorry. Mate got a sport.
- 44:29Yeah, yeah, Ryan. Garcia He he.
- 44:32Box Garcia Yes, I thought he said Gozier.
- 44:34I think he said Gozier as well. That's.
- 44:37Some South African accent twang. OK Ryan Garcia, QB.
- 44:41QB. Yeah.
- 44:43OK. Ryan Garcia, Yeah, probably
- 44:45overhyped a little bit again. Wouldn't want to fight him.
- 44:48No, no, no, no, no, no. We guess it's the only spot I
- 44:50have left. Yeah, number one spot.
- 44:52So that was pretty well done, I thought.
- 44:53I went in my head. It was like Ryan, you was.
- 44:55Lying. And then, yeah, you've got a
- 44:57tear, Ryan. Goslier yeah, yeah, my.
- 45:00Guy. I thought he was Ryan.
- 45:01Gosling. I thought that's where you were.
- 45:03Going with that, my game was so funny, I'm crying.
- 45:06Yeah, it's like. If I do something myself, OK,
- 45:09that was good. I'm bringing.
- 45:11A game that we did in our last episode.
- 45:13So if you're listening to this and you enjoyed it and you
- 45:15haven't listened to our last episode, I'd thoroughly
- 45:16recommend going back if you like this now because I have got 2 of
- 45:21you, we're going to do a head to head and basically if you're
- 45:25listening, you're going to be guessing the athlete.
- 45:27There's going to be 7 athletes. I'm going to give you one clue
- 45:29at a time. So previously last week I just
- 45:31gave you the clues to figure it out.
- 45:33I'm going to give you a clue at a time until one of you gets it
- 45:36and then you get the point. This is good OK, I did really
- 45:38well last week. You did do.
- 45:39One of the only games I've done well I.
- 45:40Think I did win the head. To head versus Charles.
- 45:42Last time you did, Yeah. No, I can't remember that.
- 45:46Now I've had to I've had. To do a little less niche
- 45:48because Roscoe is not born and raised in the UK, so I've gone
- 45:51global, which might also help some of the listeners out.
- 45:54So we're going to start off with wait, which way are we going
- 45:58first? Oh, it doesn't matter.
- 45:59We both get if you, if you say, you say.
- 46:02The you say the athlete first, however rule If you get it
- 46:06wrong, you're out. You're out of the round.
- 46:09For the round, OK. Not yeah, you're.
- 46:10Out of the way. OK, so good pressure.
- 46:12On round one, baseball. Chicago Shoe.
- 46:20I'm not afraid you've only got 3.
- 46:22Clues, don't you? Goat.
- 46:24I don't know. Greatest of all time?
- 46:26Oh. Babe Ruth, you're out, You're
- 46:31out. I don't know the final two
- 46:32things. OK, Basketball 21.
- 46:36Michael. Jordan.
- 46:37I was going to say MJ, but then I was like.
- 46:40OK, whatever. That's a good victory.
- 46:43You just had to hold number. #2. Number 22 breaks first.
- 46:48There's only four clues on this. This is clever because I was
- 46:50thinking baseball, OK. Won.
- 46:53The US Open Twice. American.
- 46:58YouTube. Bryson Dechambeau.
- 47:01That's two nil well. Done.
- 47:04Well done. I was as OK, OK.
- 47:07This one, this one's a little bit, I was thinking.
- 47:08For Mickelson, until this one's a little.
- 47:10Bit tougher. I'll sing in tennis.
- 47:12You OK? I know, yeah.
- 47:15And then as soon as you said Youtubers.
- 47:17Are we should play a game of tennis?
- 47:18OK. I'm incredible.
- 47:21Not over hyped. OK, round 3.
- 47:25American 11 Olympic medals, 30 World Championship medals.
- 47:33Married to an NFL player, 00. Simon Baer Yeah, 2 are.
- 47:41I was actually I'm. On top of my tongue.
- 47:43I was gonna go for like her height 4.
- 47:45For eight, yeah, 42 centimeters. And then Jim, what's, how do you
- 47:47say the first name Simone? Simone Yeah, I said something I
- 47:51said. Some other name?
- 47:52But I was panicking. I wish you hadn't asked.
- 47:55And we just. Told you to say it based on how
- 47:57you're speaking today. Yeah.
- 47:58Yeah, we've got to. We've got to someone.
- 48:00I was. Literally like.
- 48:00Simon Baile. Yeah.
- 48:01And you're. Like I know who you mean, OK #4.
- 48:06New Zealand former gardener the Falcon.
- 48:13Paris, 2024. Silver.
- 48:15Medal. Bike crash, OH.
- 48:23Hayden, Walt. Correct.
- 48:25That's huge. For the program. 31 Yeah, the
- 48:28last clue I was going to. Give was triathlon.
- 48:30So it had to be done there. OK, I should have got that as
- 48:33well. Here we go round 5.
- 48:35There's. Actually, a few more.
- 48:36I was wrong. There's not 7, but we'll go
- 48:38quick. British non.
- 48:42Carbon plated shoes. One New York Marathon 3 * 1
- 48:49Chicago. Marathon, Faye.
- 48:51Faye, what's that guy's name? Are you guessing?
- 48:54Do you want me to continue? Sorry, go ahead.
- 48:56One London Marathon, three times Helsinki Marathon, world champs.
- 49:01It's got to be Paula Radcliffe, correct?
- 49:0332 I wouldn't have got that. OK, next one who's?
- 49:06The fake I'm. Thinking of that has to say far.
- 49:08Farah. No.
- 49:08Farah, yeah. OK.
- 49:11National. Captain 40,704 balls 708
- 49:20wickets. Leg spinner chain 1 Correct
- 49:25that. Was speedy. 42.
